La playa recupera recursos y normalidad Un total de 20.000 metros cúbicos de arena se aportan para la regeneración y rehabilitación de la playa de Sotogrande, mermada tras el último temporal que redujo su extensión en la zona de los espigones. El aporte llega desde la desembocadura del río Guadiaro. Este tramo de litoral suma ya cerca de 50.000 metros cúbicos de aporte de arena desde la primera acción que se efectuó el pasado mes de mayo. Una partida estatal sostiene estos trabajos con doble beneficio. Además del aporte, libera anchura en la desembocadura del río.

Beach recovers resources and normality returns A total of 20,000 cubic metres of sand have been provided for the regeneration and renovation of Sotogrande beach, which was diminished following the last storm which reduced its size in the area of the breakwaters. The sand has come from the mouth of the Guadiaro River. This stretch of coastline has now acquired close to 50,000 cubic metres of sand since the first work that was carried out last May. A state budget provides for this work that has two benefits. In addition to providing sand, it helps to widen the mouth of the river.

El mundo ecuestre se encuentra completamente arraigado a la vida y costumbres del entorno andaluz desde hace generaciones. De un modo, algo similar, desde los comienzos de Sotogrande el caballo ha jugado un papel fundamental en la vida y desarrollo de la urbanización. Tanto a nivel social y de ocio, como parte de la propia cultura autóctona, como a nivel comercial, una parcela que poco a poco ha ido creciendo en las últimas décadas y que en la actualidad representa una de las mayores vías potenciales de negocio en el sur de España. El caballo es una pieza fundamental en la idiosincrasia local y es ese gran valor que le atribuye la zona lo que lo convierte en un elemento muy importante y a tener en cuenta para su comercialización y generación de riquezas en todo el Valle del Guadiaro, mejor dicho, la “Vega del Guadiaro” que es como reza uno de los mayores

Algo muy similar, casi idéntico, ocurre con la Doma Clásica o el Salto. Muy cerca, a sólo un paso de Sotogrande, está el ejemplo de Dos Lunas Dressage & Polo Club, que practica una labor a imitar en este sentido. Completa la oferta hípica con los eventos sociales, competiciones de doma y mucho más; pero ahí no acaba la trascendencia, desde hace años es una de las sedes predilectas por la Federación Nacional para realizar concentraciones y clinics con los mayores referentes de la doma nacional e internacional. Llámese Distrito equino, llámese como quiera. Un proyecto u otro, eso es lo de menos. Hoy por hoy, lo que es una evidencia es el enorme potencial de crecimiento y creación de riqueza, empleo y desarrollo para la zona que se puede alcanzar con el caballo como principal protagonista.

Horses take centre stage The equestrian world has been completely rooted in the life and customs of Andalusia for generations. In a somewhat similar manner, since the origins of Sotogrande, horses have played a fundamental role in the life and development of the resort. With regard to society and leisure, as a part of the local culture itself, and at a commercial level, this is a sector that has grown gradually over the last few decades and it currently represents one of the greatest potential routes for business in the south of Spain. Horses are a crucial part of the local character and that great value that it brings to the area that makes it a very important element and something to bear in mind for marketing and the creation of wealth throughout all of the Valle del Guadiaro, or perhaps more aptly the “Plain of Guadiaro”, which is the premise of one the biggest visionary

projects presented in the area over the last few years. On one hand, each year when August arrives, just by going out for a walk or enjoying an afternoon around the passages and pitches at Santa María Polo Club, you can see a what this animal means in terms of the level of competition and provision of resources. The more than one thousand horses that land each year in Sotogrande, some of the most important polo organisations in the world move more than one hundred for top level competitions, are guaranteed to settle in the area. There are polo clubs, equestrian centres, boxes, stables, etc. There is a super structure completely prepared to host a huge number of animals in the area, with the highest level of quality and comfort. This is of the most essential demands in many of the sectors with greatest purchasing power and certain social elites.

Something very similar, almost identical occurs with Classic Dressage or Show jumping. Very nearby, just a stone´s throw from Sotogrande, is Dos Lunas Dressage & Polo Club, whose work is worth imitating in this regard. It completes the equestrian range with social events, dressage competitions and lots more; but the significance does not end there, for years it has been one of the preferred premises of the National Federation for carrying out meet-ups and clinics with the greatest figures in national and international dressage. Call it an Equestrian District, call it what you want. One project or another, that is not of great significance. At present, what is clear is the enormous potential for growth and the creation of wealth, employment and development for the zone that can be reached with horses playing a starring role. Serenidad y tiempo de crecimiento Ni los propios efectos del ‘Brexit’ ni el poder de Donald Trump deben ser motivos para frenar un impulso natural como el que se vive en el contexto socio-económico. Ha llegado la hora de empezar a hacer las cosas con serenidad y sobre todo, con sentido común. De la misma forma que 1 José Luis García nadie se suele percatar Editor/Director cuando se nos viene jlgarcia@grupohcp.com encima la temida crisis, pasa con el fortalecimiento de la economía algo parecido. Y recién iniciado el 2017 se vislumbra que hay un ambiente bastante positivo en todos los sectores. Los nuevos desarrollos inmobiliarios, la agilización en las ventas de las viviendas de segunda mano y la implantación de nuevos negocios son indicadores que vaticinan un fortalecimiento de la economía. Y esto se detecta a principio de año, lo que

viene a decir que desde esta primavera se verá reflejado de una forma mas elocuente y con números ya en mano, como se suele decir. Recomiendo a esos emprendedores que no se pierdan la columna de opinión de esta edición de nuestro querido vecino y amigo, Carlos Rodríguez Braun. Por suerte estamos en un territorio que aguantó con mayor solidez los tiempos difíciles y está preparado para convertir las amenazas en oportunidades. Sotogrande en su conjunto es una comunidad que proyecta una excelente imagen y tiene por delante un gran recorrido. La propia matriz, con su plan de actuación en La Reserva está consolidando el nuevo Sotogrande con una urbanización de lujo y acoplando unidades de servicios de alta calidad. Ahora solo cabe esperar que ante un inminente repunte no se disparen los precios y ni baje la calidad en la prestación de servicios, cuestión que ralentizaría la consolidación de un destino que tiene mucho que ganar basado en el sentido común y mirar muy arriba. Precisamente, con a vistas ese futuro a corto y medio plazo tan prometedor que se encuentra en vísperas de tomar forma y dotar de unos resultados notables a la economía local, aparece ese momento de las grandes oportunidades. Situación idílica para poner en práctica cualquier plan, estrategia o desarrollo

de negocio en un destino garantista como es Sotogrande. Las incertidumbres que factores externos puedan levantar no dejan de ser parciales en cuanto al enorme potencial que tiene este enclave lejos de sus fronteras. Es evidente el peso del sector europeo, siendo el cliente británico uno de los más consolidados, pero de igual modo el mosaico de potenciales compradores e inversores en Sotogrande es de amplias miras y de sólida fortaleza económica. No olvidemos, aunque a veces no lo sepamos a apreciar en su día a día, que la Urbanización supone uno de los complejos residenciales turísticos más exclusivos y reconocidos de Europa. Su imagen, marca y proyección son incuestionables; lo que unido a una oferta de calidad y unos servicios de altura, es complicado que Sotogrande no se convierta en sinónimo de triunfo. Cuando lleguen los ansiados meses de verano, cada cual esperará una cosecha de altura pero el momento y la oportunidad de poner en marcha planes y estrategias es ahora. Queda por delante una magnífica primavera por explotar, comercialmente hablando, y un verano en el que consolidar apuestas de nivel. Es momento de potenciar el valor turístico de esta zona y allanar el terreno para un nuevo verano de éxitos y records en cifras. Calm and a time of growth Not even the effects of Brexit or the power of Donald Trump should be reasons for slowing down a natural impulse like the one experience in the socio-economic context. The time has come to begin doing things calmly, with common sense. In the same way that nobody usually notices when a dreaded crisis is looming, something similar also happens with the strengthening of the economy. With 2017 just underway, it is possible to glimpse a positive atmosphere across all sectors. New property developments, the speeding up of sales of second hand properties and the establishment of new businesses are indicators that hint at a strengthening of the economy. This is detected at the start of the year, which means that from this spring it will be evident in a more substantial away and with statistics to hand, as we usually say. I would recommend business people not to miss the opinion column in this edition from our beloved resident and friend, Carlos Rodríguez Braun. Luckily, we are in an area that withstood the difficult period with a greater robustness and it is ready to turn threats into opportunities. Overall, Sotogrande is a

community that projects an excellent image and has a great route ahead of it. The parent company itself, with its action plan in La Reserva is consolidating the new Sotogrande with a luxury resort and connecting units of high quality services. Now, we can only expect that faced with an imminent upturn, prices will not shoot up and quality in the provision of services won’t lower, this is an issue that would slow down the consolidation of a destination that has a lot to gain from common sense and really looking upwards. Indeed, looking ahead to that such promising short and medium-term future, that is on the verge of taking shape and providing the local economy with notable results, the time of great opportunities emerges. This is an idyllic situation for putting any plan, strategy or business development into practice for a guaranteed destination like Sotogrande. The uncertainties that external factors can cause remain partial with regard to the enormous potential that this area has beyond its borders. The importance of the European sector is clear, with

British clients one of the most consolidated sectors, but likewise the mosaic of potential buyers and investors in Sotogrande is broad based and with of a solid economic strength. We should not forget that, although we are sometimes not capable to note it on a day to day basis, the Resort is one of the most exclusive and renowned tourism residences in Europe. Its image, brand and visibility are unquestionable; this, along with a quality range and top-level services, makes it difficult for Sotogrande not to become a synonym for success. When the eagerly awaited summer months arrive, everyone will await a quality harvest but the time and opportunity to start up plans and strategies is now. We have a magnificent spring ahead to take advantage of, speaking in terms of commerce, and a summer where we can consolidate quality projects. It is time to strengthen the touristic value of this area and prepare the ground for another summer of successes and record figures. El ultimo Pleno aprobó el documento inicial de la Evaluación Ambiental Estratégica del Plan General de Ordenación Urbana (PGOU), lo que supone “el pistoletazo de salida” de dicho documento urbanístico. El objetivo del Equipo de Gobierno es que la aprobación deﬁnitiva del PGOU se realice antes de mayo de 2019. El primer edil, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, advirtió que “desde enero de 2016, la Junta de Andalucía exige la obtención de una Evaluación Ambiental Estratégica de cara a la aprobación de los planes generales. Nuestros técni-

cos elaboraron cuatro escenarios posibles, y se ha elegido la alternativa que entendemos mejor para el futuro de San Roque por un periodo de diez años”. “En esta alternativa -manifestóse recogen medidas para lograr el crecimiento de todos los núcleos de población del municipio, reservándose también espacios para nuevas actividades productivas, como suelo residencial y para promociones inmobiliarias, así como para ampliar centros comerciales y polígonos industriales”. “Podemos decir, por lo tanto -indicó- que se ha dado el

pistoletazo de salida para contar con el PGOU antes de ﬁnalizar este mandato, en mayo de 2019. Hay que recordar que en 1998, hace casi 20 años, se inició la tramitación de este documento, un trabajo que se ha tenido que enfrentar a distintos escollos que el equipo que dirijo, tanto en este mandato como en el anterior, nos hemos propuesto superar”. En la redacción de este documento inicial de la Evaluación Ambiental Estratégica se han barajado cuatro alternativas, denominadas 0, 1, 2 y 3. Se ha elegido la alternativa 3. Se fundamenta esta elección porque

se considera la opción técnica, territorial y ambiental más viable, ya que: promueve un modelo de ciudad compacta, diversa, eﬁciente y cohesionada, dentro del modelo policéntrico que conforma la realidad histórica y geográﬁca del municipio; fomenta el uso razonable y sostenible de los recursos; mejora la calidad urbana y de vida, contiene los objetivos de emisiones recogidos en los tratados internacionales; impulsa la innovación tecnológica; se rige por criterios de sostenibilidad urbana; e impulsa una nueva cultura de movilidad.

San Roque General Urban Plan begins countdown The last Plenary session approved the initial document of the Strategic Environmental Assessment of the General Urban Plan (GUP), which marks the “starting gun for that urban document. The aim of the Government Team is to have deﬁnitive approval of the GUP before May 2019, when the current mandate ends. The mayor, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, stated that “since January 2016, the Regional Council of Andalusia has demanded the obtainment of a Strategic Environmental Assessment ahead of approval of the general plans. Our

technicians created four possible scenarios, and we have chosen the alternative that we believe is best for the future of San Roque for a period of ten years”. He continued “this alternative includes measures for achieving the growth of all population centres in the municipality, while also reserving spaces for new production activities, such as residential areas and zones for property development, and the extension of shopping centres and industrial estates. We can therefore say that the starting gun has been ﬁred in order to have the GUP before

the end of this mandate, in May 2019. It is worth remembering that in 1998, almost 20 years ago, the processing of this document began, this project has had to face diﬀerent challenges that the team I direct, in this mandate as well as the previous one, has strived to overcome”. Four diﬀerent alternatives have been considered in the initial document of the Strategic Environmental Assessment, named 0, 1, 2 and 3. Option 3 has been chosen. This choice has been made because it is considered the most viable technical, land-

use and environmental option, as it: promotes a compact, diverse, eﬃcient and cohesive city model, within the polycentric model that comprises the historic and geographic reality of the municipality; it encourage the reasonable and sustainable use of resources; it improves the quality of the urban landscape and life, it contains the emissions targets outlined in international treaties; it boosts technological innovation; it is governed by the criteria of urban sustainability; and it drives forward a new culture of mobility.

Labores de regeneración, en la playa de Sotogrande

Estos días se están llevando a cabo en la playa de Sotograde las labores de regeneración y aporte de arena desde la desembocadura del río Guadiaro hasta diferentes tramos de la costa. Concretamente, las actuaciones se están ejecutando especialmente en la zona delantera de las viviendas a pie de playa (junto al espigón) y al Club de Playa (Trocadero Sotogrande). En ambos punto se encuentra trabajando diferente maquinaria. El origen de esta actuación llega de la mano de la pérdida de metros de playa a causa de los desperfectos y daños sufridos en todo el litoral a consecuencia del fuerte temporal e intensas

lluvias que azotaron al Campo de Gibraltar durante el primer tramo del mes de diciembre. Dejando, en varios casos privados y públicos, importantes daños en ediﬁcios y zonas naturales.

 Con esta aportación ya se habrían rehabilitado cerca de 50.000 metros cúbicos en la playa de Sotogrande durante las actuaciones de los últimos meses Hace algunas semanas, este periódico, ya adelantó que el Gobierno Estatal había aprobado una partida de 1,5 millones de euros para este ﬁn, de los cuales

120.000 euros estarían destinados especialmente a la playa de Sotogrande, siendo ésta una de las seleccionadas en la comarca por la administración para su rehabilitación, junto con Rinconcillo y Getares, en Algeciras y Palmones (Los Barrios). La retirada de arena de la desembocadura del río Guadiaro para regenerar partes de la playa de Sotogrande cuenta con un doble beneficio para la zona, ya que de este manera también se ayuda a que la bocana del río aumente aún más su apertura hacia el mar (las lluvias de este invierno permiten que actualmente presente el mayor ancho de salida en años del río).

Actuaciones de regeneración, en la playa.

Avanza la actuación de la rehabilitación Una total de 20.000 metros cúbicos de arena se están depositando para la regeneración y rehabilitación de la playa de Sotogrande. La arena procede de la desembocadura del río Guadiaro lo que a su vez, soluciona al mismo tiempo que se acabe cerrando y taponando la salida al mar del propio río. Estos trabajos, que comenzaron la pasada semana, avanzan con buen ritmo y se centran fundamentalmente en las zonas cercanas a los dos espigones de la playa (sur y norte). Por un lado, en la zona que está justo delante del Club de Playa (Trocadero Sotogrande), y que se da la mano con todo el litoral que atraviesa los Apartamentos Playa; dos zonas muy afectadas por el temporal del pasado diciembre. Recordar que

estos trabajos se están realizando con un presupuesto de 120.000 euros, procedentes de la subdelegación del Gobierno Central, destinado a rehabilitar las zonas de costa afectadas por dicho temporal. Este aporte de arena supone, prácticamente, el tercero desde la pasada primavera tras dos aportaciones de otros 10 y 20 mil metros cúbicos de arena, que hacen una aportación de 50.000 metros cúbicos ya a la zona. Los trabajos marchan a un buen ritmo y persiguen que siempre se mantenga una anchura en la playa practicable y sólo se tenga que actuar en su mantenimiento, no cara a una rehabilitación integral.

Regeneration work on Sotogrande beach At present, regeneration and sand provision work is taking place on Sotogrande beach. The sand is coming from the mouth of the Guadiaro River and going to different stretches of the coastline. Specifically, the work is being carried out on the zone in front of the Beach Apartments and the Beach Club (Trocadero Sotogrande). Different machinery is currently working at both points. The origins of this work are linked to the loss of metres of beach due to the damage suffered along the entire coastline

due to a strong storm and intense rain that afflicted Campo de Gibraltar during the early stages of December. In several private and public cases, it caused significant damage to buildings and natural zones. A few weeks ago, this newspaper disclosed that the State Government had approved a budget item of 1.5 million Euros for this purpose, of which 120,000 Euros are specifically allocated to Sotogrande beach, with it one of the beaches selected in the province by the administration for renovation, along with Rincon-

cillo and Getares, in Algeciras and Palmones (Los Barrios). The removal of sand from the mouth of the Guadiaro River in order to regenerate parts of Sotogrande has double beneﬁts for the zone, as it also helps the river mouth to increase its opening towards the sea (the rain this winter has allowed the river mouth to be wider than it has in years).

 Beach regeneration progresses A total of 20,000 cubic metres of sand are being deposited for the regeneration and rehabilitation of Sotogrande beach. The sand comes from the mouth of the Guadiaro River, so in turn it is solving the issue of it closing over and blocking the river´s exit to the sea. This work, which started last week, is progressing at a good pace, and mainly focuses on the areas close to the two breakwaters on the beach (south and north). On one hand, in the area that is just in front of the Beach Club (Trocadero Sotogrande), that is coupled with the entire coastline that crosses the Beach Apartments; these two zones were very aﬀected by the storm last December. It is worth remembering that this work is being carried out with a budget of 120,000 Euros, from the sub-delegation of the Central Government, that has been allocated to the rehabilitation of the coastal areas aﬀected by that storm. This provision of sand is practically the third since last spring following two contributions of 10 and 20 thousand cubic metres of sand, which amount to a contribution of 50,000 cubic metres to the area. The work is progressing at a good pace and is aimed at ensuring the width of the beach is viable, and that it is only necessary to work on maintenance, and not carry out integral revamping.

La Entidad quiere informar que con fecha 16 de enero de 2017 fue emitido el recibo correspondiente a la anualidad de la cuota 2017 de la E.U.C. “Parques de Sotogrande”. Para todos aquellos recibos no domiciliados, el periodo voluntario de pago finaliza el día 31 de marzo de 2017, conforme a los acuerdos de la Asamblea General. El incumplimiento del pago en los plazos establecidos origina extra costes en las gestiones que no deben ser soportados por aquellos que cumplen fielmente con la obligación de pago en el tiempo acordado, por este motivo en la pasada

Asamblea General de fecha 11 de agosto de 2016 se aprobó por unanimidad el endurecimiento en la aplicación de nuevos recargos a las cuotas impagadas: • 5% recargo: para las cuotas abonadas tras el período voluntario (o fin de domiciliación) y hasta la recepción del burofax o notificación por tablón. • 10% recargo: para las cuotas abonadas dentro del plazo concedido por el burofax o notificación por tablón. • 20% recargo: para las cuotas abonadas después del plazo concedido por el burofax o no-

La provincia crece este año en turistas y empleo

Los datos facilitados por el Instituto Nacional de Estadística marcan un récord en pernoctaciones en el territorio gaditano 1 M. Gil

El Instituto Nacional de Estadística (INE) publicó los datos correspondientes al mes de diciembre de 2016 de la Encuesta de Ocupación Hotelera, por lo que ya se puede completar el análisis estadístico del año completo. La provincia vivió en 2016 un notable crecimiento en todos los indicadores turísticos analizados, destacando los turistas llegados, las pernoctaciones y sobre todo el empleo generado, una de las prioridades de la Diputación Provincial de Cádiz, quién facilitó los datos. Los establecimientos hoteleros gaditanos registraron en 2016 un

total de 2.454.247 viajeros alojados, un 6,88% más que en 2015. En cuanto a pernoctaciones, el total son 7.377.546, lo que supone un aumento porcentual del 7,51 con respecto a 2015. Se trata del récord de pernoctaciones que hasta ahora estaba en 2007 con 7.153.634. Hace nueve año que el sector turístico se mantenía en los seis millones de estancia. Los datos de 2016 indican que es el turismo extranjero el que arrastra el crecimiento en la provincia tanto en turistas como en pernoctaciones. En los hoteles de la provincia se alojaron en el

pasado año 871.829 turistas extranjeros, un 15,6% más que en 2015. Estos generaron 3.280.171 pernoctaciones, un 15,35% más que en el año anterior. En los últimos 10 años nunca se habían alojados en los hoteles de la provincia tantos extranjeros como hasta ahora. En 2007 fueron 806.130, la cifra más alta hasta la fecha. Un registro que se ha superado con creces en 2016. En términos de empleo, la media anual de personal empleado en alojamientos turísticos se sitúa en 5.222 personas, aumentando un 7,84% las cifras de 2015.

Esto, unido al carácter extremo de los suelos, produce un fruto de la máxima calidad en las condiciones más duras. Las uvas Tinta del País (también llamada Tempranillo) recogidas a mano fueron seleccionadas con cuidado sobre el terreno y se recogieron en un estado de maduración perfecto durante la cosecha de 2010; una añada considerada “excelente” por el consejo de la D.O. La fermentación maloláctica tuvo lugar en barricas nuevas de roble francés y americano durante 14 meses. A continuación, sólo 12.000 botellas se dejaron madurar en las condiciones perfectas durante 12 meses antes de su comercialización. El resultado es un vino de gran complejidad: aterciopelado con fruta roja madura, una madera perfectamente integrada, excepcionalmente elegante, unos taninos redondos y un final largo y lleno de sabor. Estuvieron divividos en dos grupos, mañana y tarde. Los 51 alumnos tuvieron la opor-

tunidad de involucrarse en las actividades diarias realizadas por el centro y sus residentes, tales como: ayudar en las tareas de limpieza, preparar bizcochos para la merienda del centro y programa de Comedor Social, comprobar la fecha de caducidad, limpiar y organizar los almacenes de alimentos de cocina y Campaña de Alimentos, pintar la valla de la zona de juegos, y servicio & entrega de comida

El alcalde de San Roque, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, mantuvo un encuentro con varios miembros de la dirección del Real Club de Golf Sotogrande, para conocer de primera manor los trabajos de renaturalización del campo de golf, un proyecto que se inició a principios del 2015. La entidad, con estas acciones, pretende recuperar el paisaje inicial que había antes de la construcción de sus instalaciones, por lo que se está potenciando y protegiendo el alcornocal. En este sentido, según se informó, desde el club se habían retirado las especies que estaban afectando negativamente a los alcornoques, y se realizaron, a consecuencia, nuevas plantaciones de este árbol. Debido a ello, el Real Club de Golf Sotogrande solicitó permiso para realizar

una entresaca de pinos y para talar varias palmeras. Además, con el proyecto, se pretende renovar el césped de la zona de prácticas y los jardines de la casa club. Empresarios y obstáculos

La política de las autoridades hacia los empresarios cae generalmente bajo dos categorías: la hostilidad o la amistad engañosa. En ocasiones los políticos se presentan como adversarios de las empresas. Esto sucede en los extremos, y lo hemos podido comprobar en España con el auge de Podemos y su alianza con los comunistas de Izquierda Unida. En otros países la enemistad contra las empresas se da también en la extrema derecha, pero en ambos extremos el antiliberalismo es sistemáticamente pueril y falaz, y no consiste más que en una retahíla de consignas incoherentes que sólo buscan convertir al empresario en un demonio enemigo del pueblo, para justiﬁcar así sus programas anti-empresariales. Más interesante es la otra actitud, mayoritaria en los partidos llamados moderados, que consiste en declararse amigos de los empresarios, en particular de las pequeñas y medianas empresas, pero al

mismo tiempo aplicar políticas que incluyen ingredientes anti-empresariales. Lo mismo sucede con las medidas relacionadas con los profesionales y autónomos. En los últimos tiempos lo hemos visto en la práctica tanto en los gobiernos del PSOE como del PP. Ambos partidos proclaman que son pro-empresariales, con matices, a veces con críticas, aunque en ningún caso comparten la vieja y reaccionaria hostilidad de los comunistas y los populistas. Ahora bien, en la práctica, suelen ser tan enemigos de los empresarios como los demás. Hace poco, el presidente de la patronal CEOE, Juan Rosell, declaró que el ministro de Hacienda, Cristóbal Montoro, es más enemigo de las empresas que los de Podemos. Los obstáculos que se interponen en la vida empresarial son crecientes y provienen de todas las administraciones públicas. A veces son particularmente

insidiosos, como viene ocurriendo en los últimos años con la ﬁscalidad de profesionales, autónomos y PYMES, y que conocen muy bien quienes los sufren en Sotogrande. Resulta que la Agencia Tributaria está recortando al máximo los gastos deducibles, con lo cual puede presentarse ante la opinión pública alegando que no sube los impuestos cuando en realidad está haciendo exactamente eso. mainly in the so-called moderate parties, that consists of declaring oneself to be a friend of businesses, especially small and medium-sized businesses, while simultaneously applying policies that include anti-business aspects. The same thing happens with measures linked to professionals and freelancers. Lately, we have seen this attitude put into practice by both PSOE and PP governments. Both parties state that they are pro-business, with nuances, sometimes critical, although under no circumstances do they share the old and reactionary hostility of communists and populists. However, in practice, they are usually just as hostile to business people as the others. Not long ago, the president of the employer´s organisation CEOE, Juan Rosell, declared that the minister of

the Treasury, Cristóbal Montoro, was more an enemy of companies than the Podemos politicians. The obstacles that get in the way of business life are growing and come from all public administrations. They are sometimes particularly insidious, as has been the case over the last few years with the tax matters of professionals, freelancers and SME´s, and those suffering in Sotogrande will be well-aware of this. The fact is that the Tax Agency is cutting deductible costs as much as possible, which can be presented to public opinion by claiming that they are not increasing taxes when in reality that is exactly what they are doing. La ordenación urbanística y la implantación de medidas que proporcionen un mayor sentido a la circulación de vehículos y que a su vez colme la demandas ciudadanas en cuanto a comodidades y prestaciones en peatonalización y recursos de los espacios públicos es a menudo de uno de los retos más importantes para cualquier equipo de gobierno en un municipio. En lo que se refiere al Valle del Guadiaro y más especialmente, en la zona de Pueblo Nuevo (uno de los núcleos poblacionales que vive una mayor expansión comercial y social en el entorno), se trata de encontrar ese equilibrio entre las reclamaciones y peticiones sociales, junto a una respuesta eficiente en forma de actuaciones municipales. Este informe recoge varios de los nuevos proyectos en marcha, algunos ya ejecutados y otras demandas por resolver

en la zona. Vías de Servicio Como una de las principales demandas en la zona se encuentra la reclamación mayor atención en cuanto a mantenimiento y conservación de las vías de servicio (sur y norte) en Pueblo Nuevo Guadiaro. Son casi crónicas las reclamaciones vecinales en este sentido, en uno de los tramos más transitados de la zona (desde el punto de vista comercial). Tomando el protagonismo precisamente en dos puntos principales: la reparación de las vías de servicio y la creación de una conexión peatonal segura y que conecte ambas zonas comerciales sin necesidad de vehículo. Por un lado, desde el Consistorio, se asegura que ya se encuentra en marcha y en estudio la petición par

aun recepción de ambas vías, lo que supondría que la entidad municipal podría tomar responsabilidades en la zona y asumir ciertas labores en materia de cuidados y mantenimiento. Es decir, tomar cartas en el asunto una vez sufridas las repetidas negativas u omisión de ejecutar estos trabajos, principalmente orientados al asfaltado y estado del terreno. Mercedes Serrano, delegada de Seguridad Ciudadana, Tráfico y Planificación Viaria (entre otras áreas), detalla el plan a seguir por el Ayuntamiento sanroqueño en este sentido. “Hemos planteado la opción de recepcionar las vías de servicio en Pueblo Nuevo. Es evidente y notorio que ahora mismo no se encuentran en las condiciones más deseadas, ni para este gobierno ni para los que transitan por ellas, y es por ello que estamos en trámi-

tes con Red de Carreteras [ostenta esta competencia] y para asumir su recepción y así poder actuar en el terreno y asumir sus mejoras”, afirma Serrano. Los socavones, baches y mal estado en el que se encuentra la vía son algunos de los problemas más alarmantes en este tramo, aunque no es el único. La conexión peatonal entre ambas vías es el otro aspecto de mayor grado de relevancia en esta zona. Actualmente, el único paso posible (es complicado calificarlo de ese modo) entre ambas es un carril sin habilitar por el paso subterráneo bajo el puente. En estudio, muy cerca de ver la luz, se encuentra un proyecto municipal para la peatonalización de esa conexión pero que igualmente está en fase de verificación de la administración que ostenta esta competencia. Al echar la mirada atrás, recordar que

fue durante el pasado verano cuando en Pleno se aprobó por parte de la corporación municipal estudiar diferentes alternativas y actuar en consecuencia a las más efectiva y posible. Siendo, en este caso, el paso subterráneo las considerada más idónea por delante de un paso elevado, por encima de la A-7. “Tenemos que garantizar que de manera peatonal los vecinos de Pueblo Nuevo de Guadiaro puedan acceder a la zona comercial [vía de servicio de Sotomarket] que divide esta autovía. Estamos estudiando la peatonalización, por debajo, del puente con una zona habilitada, para que los vecinos libremente puedan acudir a estos centros”, detalla la edil de Planificación Viaria. En un caso, similar al del mantenimiento de las vías, el objetivo del Consistorio sería asumir la competencia de este acceso para poder dotar de una conexión acorde con las necesidades de los vecinos. Zonas de estacionamiento Momentáneamente, sin abandonar aún la zona de las vías de servicio

para el estacionamiento de más de medio centenar de vehículos (en el margen contrario de la carretera a la altura de los aparcamientos de la playa de Torreguadiaro), se convirtió en un alivio en gran medida a la congestión que sufre esta barriada en verano.

guadiaro, coincidiendo con las urbanizaciones, hacía imposible el acceso de vehículos de emergencia en caso de ser necesarios a esos puntos. Una situación que alarmó a los vecinos y d que denunciaron, cuestión para la que planteará soluciones, cara al próximo verano, según confirmó la delegación de Seguridad Ciudadana. “Aunque todas las medidas que se intentan poner en práctica se hacen para bien del ciudadano y tratando de evitar medidas como las ‘Zonas Azules’, planteamiento al que es totalmente contrario este equipo de gobierno”, sostiene Mercedes Serrano. Asfaltado y señalización En las últimas semanas se está llevando a cabo un plan de asfalta-

do en distintas zonas del Valle del Guadiaro. De las primeras en estar en funcionamiento es precisamente dicha parte de Torreguadiaro, en su zona alta, en la que ya se ha finalizado el proyecto. También, tanto en parte de la Av. Mar del Sur como en la Calle de la Iglesia, se ejecutó la instalación de badenes. Recordar que hace algunos meses se ejecutaron actuaciones de asfaltado en diferentes puntos de Guadiaro y Pueblo Nuevo de Guadiaro, así como la renovación de las señalizaciones y pasos elevados. Respecto a otra de las zonas de mayor conflicto, en cuanto a tema de viario y que desde hace años se trata de una gran demanda de los vecinos, va ligada con la barriada de los pescadores y el asfaltado o instalación de una gravilla de garantías que no se convierte en un barrizal con la lluvia. La edil, Mercedes Serrano, asegura que se tiene este tema en mente pero que es complicado actuar. “Volvemos a encontrar en este punto la mezcla de competencias con Demarcación de Costas. Somos conscientes de este problema y de la necesidad de encontrar solución. Trabajamos por ello e intentaremos que por un lado o poro otro pueda darse solución los antes posibles. Sabemos plenamente las necesidades de los vecinos”, sostiene.

Urban planning and the implementation of measures that make more sense for vehicle traffic while also meeting the demands of citizens in relation to amenities and the provisions of pedestrianizing and resources of public spaces, is often one of the most important challenges for any government team in a municipality. With regard to Valle del Guadiaro and especially, in the Pueblo Nuevo area (one of the population centres that is experiencing greatest commercial and social growth in the area), this is about finding the balance between claims and social petitions, along with an efficient response in terms of municipal actions. This report looks at several of the new projects that are underway, some of which have already been carried out and other demands that are awaiting solutions in the area.

Service Roads One of the biggest demands in the area is the call for greater care in relation to the maintenance and preservation of the service roads (south and north) in Pueblo Nuevo Guadiaro. The claims from residents in this regard are almost chronic, in one of the busiest stretches in the area (from a commercial point of view). There are two main issues here: the repair of service roads and the creation of a safe pedestrian connection that connects both commercial areas without the need for a vehicle. On one hand, the Council states that a study is underway and a request is being looked at for intake for both roads, which would mean that the municipal entity would take responsibility in the area and take on certain tasks relating to care and maintenance.

That is to say, they have taken a stance having received repeated refusals and the failure to carry out this work, mainly aimed at paving and the state of the ground. Mercedes Serrano, the delegate for Civic, Traﬃc and Road Planning (among other areas), outlined the plan that the Council of San Roque will follow in this regard. “We are put forward the option of accepting the service roads in Pueblo Nuevo. It is clear and very well-known that up until now they have not been in the most desired condition, neither for this government or the people that use them, and that is why are in negotiations with the Roads Network (it holds this responsibility) and in order to take them on, and thus be able to act in the area and carry out improvements”, states Serrano. The sinkholes, pot holes and poor

condition of the road are some of the most alarming problems on this stretch, although this is not the only one. The pedestrian connection between both roads is the other most important aspect for this area. Currently, the only possible passage (it is difficult to describe it as such) between both roads is a lane not fitted out through the underground passage under the bridge. Under study, and very close to going ahead, is a municipal project for the pedestrianizing of that connection, but it is also in the verification phase of the administration that holds that responsibility. When you look back, it is worth remembering that it was last summer when the Plenary approved, on behalf of the municipal corporation, studying different alternatives and acting according to the most effective and possible one. derground passage was considered more appropriate instead of a raised walkway, over the A-7. “We have to guarantee that the residents of Pueblo Nuevo can access, on foot, the commercial area (Sotomarket service road) that divides this road. We are studying pedestrianizing, underneath the bridge, with an area fitted out, to ensure that residents can freely come to these centres”, outlined the councillor for Road Planning. In one case, similar to that of road maintenance, the aim of the Council would be to assume responsibility for this access, in order to provide a connection that meets the needs of residents. Parking Areas Momentarily, and without leaving the service roads area in Pueblo Nuevo, the Council is detailing the study, provided that it can take on these responsibilities and therefore it is really still at the study phase, for the possibility of the north service road (Calle San Francisco) having some one-way stretches. This is an option that would help to gain practically an entire road for parking vehicles and prevent danger spots, such as the bend that links the road with the roundabout of the mul-

ti-use sport courts. “However this is still only at the study phase”, explains Mercedes Serrano. “Over the last few months several procedures have been carried out in order to respond to demands from residents, locals, business people and tourists, in this regard, in the Valle del Guadiaro area, and more specifically in Pueblo Nuevo”, confirms the councillor. “We are aware that this one of the largest areas and that we need to provide more

¿Qué consecuencias determinan el rescate de las competencias en los servicios de agua y basura? Durante la celebración del último Pleno Ordinario de la Corporación de San Roque se aprobó el punto que fijaba las tasas de agua y basura en el caso de la recuperación de las competencias en los servicios

de agua y de recogida de basura. Una propuesta en marcha y que atraviesa algunos trámites administrativos y burocráticos aún. Por ello, en esta edición de La Ventana de Opinión de El Pe-

riódico de Sotogrande mostramos las opiniones vertidas por diferentes miembros de la corporación y del equipo de gobierno sobre esta medida y analizan las posibles consecuencias de este recate de competencias.

En mayor consenso se estima que una reducción palpable y el abaratamiento d costes de estos servicios, reflejado en el recibo de los ciudadanos, cuenta con el apoyo de la mayoría de grupos de la corporación aunque

desde el seno de la oposición se desconfía que este rebaja llegue a producirse. Por su parte, el equipo de gobierno sostiene que ésta se producirá y que el servicio a prestar será aún de mayor calidad.

co de Sotogrande we are outlining the opinions given by different members of the corporation and government team on this measure and analyse the possible consequences of this recovery of responsibilities.

There is a general agreement that there will be significant reduction and cheapening of the cost of these services, which will be reflected in the bills paid by citizens. It has the support of the majority of the corpora-

tion´s groups, although the opposition is sceptical that there will be reductions. In turn, the government team states that it will take place and that the service provided will be of a higher quality.

El Equipo de Gobierno avanza en el proceso de recuperación de los servicios de aguas y recogida de basuras, que en la actualidad gestiona la empresa mancomunada Arcgisa, para conseguir el abaratamiento de las tarifas y una mejora en la calidad de la prestación, según deﬁende el Consistorio. En el último Pleno, se aprobó se aprobaron de manera provisional las ordenanzas y tasas de la recogida de residuos sólidos urbanos, del saneamiento y depuración de aguas residuales y del abastecimiento de agua potable. El alcalde, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, y Juan Manuel Ordóñez, primer

teniente de alcalde, explicaron algunos detalles del proceso. “Los retos son tres”, precisó el primer edil. “El primero, prestar los servicios con mayor calidad, porque tenemos quejas de los vecinos. En cuanto a la recogida de basuras, de contar con una ﬂota de vehículos adecuada. Y en cuanto al agua en baja, se han detectado pérdidas y una gestión deﬁcitaria de la depuradora que hacen necesario que el Ayuntamiento también tome cartas en el asunto”. “El segundo reto -añadió- es mandar un mensaje de tranquilidad a todos los empleados que se encargan hoy en día de estos servicios. Ruiz Boix said that “Thirdly there is there is the original promise to provide these services at a cheaper price, for them no have less of an impact on the homes of residents. There are complaints that the bills for water, along that for waste, is very high. We have the challenge of lowering them considerably. However, let´s not fool anyone. We are not talking about cutting the price by half, but yes by a percentage that responds to the demand of residents, to the awareness that we must have at these diﬃcult

times”. It was also explained that they will look for ways to subsidise families with a delicate ﬁnancial situation and that very soon they will publicly release all the reports by the committee in charge of studying the recovery of these services.

Campo de Gibraltar El Plan de Asfaltado se ejecuta en Torreguadiaro ✑ M. Gil / Redacción

La empresa adjudicataria del IV Plan de Asfaltado desarrolló su trabajo en la barriada de Torreguadiaro y continuará en San Enrique y Guadiaro. Concretamente, se mejoró el ﬁrme de una superﬁcie de casi 1.500 metros cuadrados en la Avenida de Las Palmeras, se colocaron unos resaltos en la Avenida Mar del Sur y se colma así la demanda vecinal de unos badenes en la calle de La Iglesia. El IV Plan de Asfaltado, correspondiente a 2016, se está ejecutando en las primeras semanas de este año y contempla un to-

tal de 31 calles y plazas en todo el municipio. Tiene un coste de 200.000 euros, la misma cantidad que se ha consignado en el presupuesto de este año para el V Plan de Asfaltado, que se pretende llevar a cabo a finales de 2017. En el pasado año, técnicos municipales comenzaron a establecer las prioridades que debían abordarse en este cuarto plan de asfaltado, una vez finalizado el tercero, que se desarrolló entre diciembre de 2015 y finales de enero de 2016, cuando se actuó sobre 35 calles. En los dos primeros planes de

asfaltado, correspondientes a los años 2013 y 2014, se trabajó en 86 vías urbanas de todos los núcleos de población. Se consiguieron mejorar las calzadas que presentaban un mayor deterioro según el criterio de los técnicos. Sumando los cuatro planes, se ha invertido en asfaltado en los últimos años unos 900.000 euros, a los que hay que sumar los 200.000 ya consignados para 2017.

Nueva imagen, para el parque infantil de Guadiaro El parque infantil de Guadiaro, que se sitúa junto al Colegio Gloria Fuertes de esta barriada, sufrió una serie de mejoras por parte de los operarios municipales, con nuevo pavimentado, una estética más atractiva y elementos de mayor seguridad. Desde el Consistorio aﬁrman que este parque es muy visitado por los pequeños de la barriada y sus familias. Que hasta este momento, contaba con un ﬁrme de baldosas, pero faltaban muchas de ellas, y se ha renovado con un nuevo pavimento que además de aportar una mayor seguridad para los pequeños, da una mejor estética al parque. Estas obras, según detalla el Ayuntamiento, son el resultado de una petición expresa de los vecinos, que venían demandando esta actuación, que ha supuesto una inversión de algo más de 30 mil euros, para remozar completamente el parque.

New image for Guadiaro children park The Guadiaro children park, located next to the Gloria Fuertes School in this area, has undergone a series of improvements by municipal operators, with new paving, a more appealing look and greater safety. The Council states that the park receives a lot of visits from children in the neighbourhood and their families. Up until now, it had tile ﬂooring, although a lot of the tiles were missing. The surface has been revamped with new paving that also provides greater safety for small children, and improves the look of the park. The work, according to the Council is the result of an express request from the residents, who had been calling for this action, that involved the investment of a little more than 30 thousand Euros, in order to completely revamp the park.

La psicología de los políticos A mí me llama poderosamente la atención el hecho de que, en un mundo tan globalizado como el actual en el que, a través de las redes sociales, se puede saber lo que está haciendo cualquiera en cualquier momento, no tengamos ninguna información fidedigna acerca del perfil 1 Luis Babiano psicológico de nuestros Abogados / Lawyers gobernantes. Y consiSotogrande dero que esto es tan de extraordinaria importancia que debería ocupar un lugar privilegiado en el currículum de los aspirantes a cualquier cargo político. Conocer los rasgos psicológicos de las personas es fundamental para hacerse una idea de cuáles van a ser los pilares de su gestión política. El desconocimiento de la psicología de nuestros representantes ha llevado a países y regiones enteras a situaciones desastrosas. El mundo está lleno de líderes paranoicos que quisieron pasar a la historia gloriosa de la humanidad dejando un reguero de destrucción y muerte. Empezando por Hitler, siguiendo con Stalin, continuando con Mao Zedong y, en tiempos más pretéritos, con el príncipe Drácula y Atila, la historia está llena de ejemplos de personajes paranoicos que son conocidos no sólo por sus “hazañas” sino también por los millones de personas y bienes que costaron estas hazañas. Y todo esto sin olvidar al rey Leopoldo II de Bélgica que basó su colosal fortuna en la muerte de millones de habitantes del Congo. En Internet se pueden encontrar estudios psicológicos de lí-

deres históricos. Así la CIA ha sacado un estudio en el que considera a Hitler como un narcisista neurótico suicida, inseguro, impotente, masoquista, y que se veía a sí mismo como “el destructor del superego anticuado hebraico cristiano”. La personalidad de Hitler, según la CIA, es un ejemplo del tipo contradictorio, que está marcado por los esfuerzos intensos y obstinados de superar las discapacidades tempranas, debilidades y humillaciones, y a veces también por los esfuerzos para vengarse de insultos al orgullo. De Putin encontramos el siguiente análisis: Su gesto más característico es el andar con los puños cerrados. Éste es un claro ejemplo de tensión y de estar preparado para la lucha en cualquier momento. Refleja un alto poder de autocontrol y hermetismo, como si de un robot se tratase. Además de su lenguaje no verbal frío y distante, suele dirigirse a sus interlocutores alzando el dedo índice de su mano, un gesto agresivo y propio de un carácter muy autoritario. Como rasgo esencial, podemos citar su labio superior extremadamente fino, propio de personas que no desvelan sus emociones así como una ligera inclinación del mismo hacia abajo en su lado izquierdo. Esto puede querer decir que en su vida privada, en su intimidad, todavía es menos afectivo que lo que muestra en público. Su rostro se corresponde con su conducta no verbal. Es frío y no transmite casi ninguna emoción. Veremos en él, el mismo rostro casi siempre. Además de esto, se rumorea que pudo hacerse un lifting facial en 2010, con lo que poder encontrar el rastro de alguna emoción todavía se complica más. Sobre Donald Trump se dice que presenta unos rasgos narcisistas muy marcados; que es megalómano; que tiene tendencia a la manipulación; que piensa que el mundo gira en torno a él; que es racista, autoritario, prepotente, misógino y arrogante; que menosprecia a los demás por considerarlos inferiores, extrovertido, intolerante, agresivo y fanático.

Pues bien, con estos perfiles de las dos personas con mayor poder nuclear del mundo nos podemos ir haciendo una idea de por dónde van a ir las cosas en el futuro. En cuanto a Putin ha demostrado ya sobradamente que el perfil psicológico citado se adapta a sus hechos. La actuación que ha tenido con respecto a la península de Crimea y la que está realizando en Ucrania es clara muestra de esto. Además lo hace con inteligencia aparte de con fuerza. Me ha llamado mucho la atención la contestación que el representante ruso le dio al representante británico cuando éste se quejaba de la política rusa en Crimea y Ucrania. Vino a decirle en síntesis que antes de protestar sobre Ucrania y Crimea debería dejar libres las colonias de las Islas Malvinas y Gibraltar, haciendo referencia a la actitud colonialista que mantiene el Reino Unido. Igual sucede con su actuación en Siria donde, demostrando su alto porcentaje de testosterona, ha decidido implicarse directamente en el terreno sin temer a las consecuencias de un conflicto bélico que causa bajas militares. Algo parecido pasa con el presidente Trump cuyas primeras actuaciones están respondiendo exactamente a su perfil psicológico. Su no aceptación de las decisiones tomadas por los tribunales norteamericanos en lo relativo a su decreto sobre inmigración ya pone de manifiesto sus características de autoritario, prepotente y arrogante. Mi opinión personal es que aun cuando Putin pueda ser temible, es también previsible lo que evidentemente ayuda al entendimiento. Siempre se ha dicho que es preferible negociar con un listo que con un tonto. Con respecto a Trump no lo veo tan claro porque sus características psicológicas le pueden llevar actuaciones contradictorias e imprevisibles lo que, sin ninguna duda, genera inestabilidad. Esperaremos futuros acontecimientos.

The psychology of politicians I find it really striking that, in such a globalized world as the current one in which we can find out what anyone is doing at any time, through social networks, we do not have any trustworthy information about the psychological profile of our leaders- I believe that this is an issue of such extraordinary importance that it should have a privileged place on the CV on those hoping to take on any political role. Knowing about the psychological traits of people is crucial in order to get an idea about what the pillars of their political management are going to be. The lack of knowledge about the psychology of our political representatives has led entire countries and regions into disastrous situations. The world is full of paranoid leaders that wanted to go down in the glorious history of humanity, while leaving a trail of destruction and death. Beginning with Hitler, followed by Stalin, continuing with Mao Zedong, and looking further back, Prince Dracula and Attila, history is full of examples of paranoid figures that are well-known not only for their “feats” but also for the millions of people and assets that were the price to pay for those feats. We should not forget about King Leopold II of Belgium who based his colossal fortune on the death of millions of inhabitants of the Congo. On the internet you can find psychological studies of historic leaders. For example, the CIA has released a study in which it considers Hitler to be a neurotic and suicidal narcissist, who was insecure, impotent and masochistic, and saw himself as “the destructor of the outdated Hebrew-Christian superego”. According to the CIA, Hitler is an example of a contradictory figure,

who is defined by the intense and stubborn efforts to overcome early disabilities, weaknesses and humiliation, and also the efforts to take revenge for insults to his pride. With regard to Putin, we can find the following analysis: His most characteristic gesture is walking with closed fists. This is a clear example of tension and being ready to fight at any point. It reflects a high capacity for self-control and hermeticism, as if we were dealing with a robot. In addition to his cold and distant body language, he usually addresses his interlocutors by raising his index finger, an aggressive gesture that is befitting of a very authoritarian character. One essential trait we can mention is his extremely fine upper lip, which is an inherent trait of people that do not reveal their emotions. The lip also slightly slants downwards on the left-hand side. This may mean that in his private life, in intimate surroundings, he is even less affectionate than he is in public. His face corresponds to his body language. It is cold and barely conveys any emotion. He almost always has the same expression. In addition to this, there are rumours that he may have had a facelift in 2010, therefore finding the trace of any emotion is even more difficult. As for Donald Trump, it is said that he has very defined narcissistic traits, that he is a megalomaniac, that he tends to be manipulative, that he thinks the world revolves around him, that he is racist, authoritarian, pretentious, misogynistic and arrogant, that is scorns others as he considers them inferior, that he is extrovert, intolerant, aggressive and fanatic. Well, with these profiles of the two people with most nuclear power in the world, we can get an idea about

the way things are heading in the future. With Putin, it has been shown extensively that the aforementioned psychological profile adapts to his actions. His actions in the peninsula of Crimea and what he is doing in Ukraine is a clear example of this. He also uses intelligence as well as strength. I was really stunned by the answer that a Russian representative gave a British representative when the latter complained about Russian policy in the Crimea and Ukraine. In short, he said that before protesting about Ukraine and Crimea, he should give up the colonies of the Falkland Islands and Gibraltar, referring to the colonialist attitude of the United Kingdom. The same thing happens with Russian policy in Syria where, demonstrating a high testosterone level, Putin has decided to get directly involved in action on the ground without fearing the consequences of a war that causes military casualties. Something similar happens with President Trump, whose first policies are an exact fit for his psychological profile. His refusal to accept the decisions taken by American courts in relation to his decree in relation to his immigration decree already shows his authoritarian and arrogant streaks. My own opinion is that although Putin can be fearsome, he is also predictable, which evidently aids understanding. It has always been said that it is preferable to negotiate with a smart person than a stupid one. With regard to Trump, I am not so certain because his psychological characteristics can lead him to carry out contradictory and unpredictable actions that can undoubtedly generate instability. We shall await future events.

The Association of Municipalities of Campo de Gibraltar held the prize giving at a gala in Hotel Reina Cristina, in Algeciras, for the second edition of the Provincial Prizes this this provincial entity organizes. These prizes showcase and recognize the work of different figures and entities during their history or actions within Campo de Gibraltar, and are split into seven categories. This year, as a new feature, the winners were voted by residents in Campo de Gibraltar through a digital site in which they selected the awards in each of the categories from among the nominees. In addition to the awards, two more prizes were given out, as a Special Mention, to two entities; the Coordination Office of the

General State Administration and the Sub-delegation of the Regional Government of Andalusia in the Province. Sierra Almenara begins educational guidance programs for schools

La Delegación Municipal de Educación puso en marcha los programas “Estudia lo que te guste” y “Orientación Laboral”, que asesorará a los alumnos en los institutos para afrontar su futuro, tanto a nivel de estudios, como a nivel laboral. El invierno llega a Fundamentals 1 Redacción

La nieve, la ropa cálida, el frío y los animales que hibernan son algunas de las conexiones que los niños de Fundamentals han hecho dentro del proyecto de invierno. Con unas actividades diseñadas para utilizar todos los sentidos, el equipo de Fundamentals involucró y guió a los niños en una serie de actividades divertidas y enriquecedoras centradas en saber más sobre la temporada invernal. Bien abrigados nos fuimos a dar un paseo y dedicamos tiempo a observar el cielo y

los árboles, a sentir el frío en los dedos y la nariz, y a comprobar qué flores y animales podíamos ver. De vuelta en clase, utilizamos toda esa información para hacer unas fabulosas presentaciones. Tras cantar canciones invernales hechas por nosotros y jugar con la nieve, creamos una nube gigantesca con gotas de lluvia, pintamos copos de nieve y vimos un vídeo sobre animales que hibernan. Utilizamos el proyector para que las gotas de lluvia que habíamos pintado parecie-

ran enormes en la pared y experimentamos con las luces y las sombras, las formas y los colores de los objetos invernales que habíamos encontrado. Nuestros proyectos siempre son una combinación de ideas de nuestros profesores, alumnos y familias, que se mezclan para que el resultado sea mágico.

Winter arrives at Fundamentals Snow and warm clothes, cold and hibernating animals are just a few of the connections our Fundamentals children have made as part of our winter project. With activities designed to use all of our senses the Fundamentals Team have engaged and guided children through fun and enriching activates all focused on discovering more about the winter season. Wrapping up warm we went for

a walk, taking the time to look at the sky and the trees, to feel how cold our fingers and noses got and checking which flowers and animals we could see. Back in the classroom we used all of this information to make some fantastic displays. Singing our winter themed songs we made and played with snow, created a giant cloud with raindrops, painted snowflakes and watched a video about hibernat-

ing animals. We used the projector to make our small painted raindrops appear huge on the walls experimenting with light and shadow, and the light box to play with the shapes and colours of the winter things we found. Our projects are always a collaboration of ideas and input from teachers, children and families, working together to make our projects magical.

CEIP Gloria Fuertes Proyectos en el Colegio El pasado mes de diciembre el alumnado del Tercer Ciclo del CEIP Gloria Fuertes organizó un evento solidario en el centro con la colaboración de nuestra Comunidad Educativa: “el proyecto Navidad Solidaria”. Los propios alumnos, desde noviembre, y tras recaudar alimentos para la asociación “Coordinadora Alternativas”, solicitaron al profesorado realizar alguna actividad extra para recaudar más donativos. De ahí surgió la idea y, poco a poco, todo el proyecto fue tomando forma. El alumnado redactó varias cartas a empresas cercanas para solicitar colaboración, planearon cómo llevar a cabo el evento, eligieron diferentes organizaciones con las que colaborar, fabricaron manualidades y ela-

boraron con las familias repostería, entre otros. ¡El resultado fue espectacular! Organizaron una carrera solidaria a favor de “Save the Children” donde, además, en diferentes stands, se recaudaron objetos y alimentos para los perros (para la organización Adana), alimentos no perecederos (para Coordinadora Alternativas), juguetes (para la asociación Reyes Magos 98) y se vendieron manualidades y comida. Todas nuestras familias se volcaron con el evento y se consiguió recaudar nada más y nada menos que 3300€ para las diferentes organizaciones, 240kg de comida, objetos varios para los perros y más de 150 juguetes. ¡¡Repetiremos sin duda!! ¡¡Gracias a todos los que lo hicisteis posible!!

Projects at the School In December, Third Year pupils from CEIP Gloria Fuertes organized a charity event at the school with the collaboration of our Educational Community: “the Charity Christmas project”. The pupils themselves, since November, and after collecting food for the “Alternatives Coordinator” association, had been asking teachers if they could carry out an extra activity in order to get more donations. That was where the idea came from, and little by little, the entire

project took shape. The pupils wrote several letters to nearby companies in order to request collaboration, they planned how to carry out the event, they chose different organization to collaborate with, they created handicrafts, and they produced baked goods with their family, among other things. The result was spectacular! They organized a charity race to aid “Save the Children”, also, at different stands they collected ob-

jects and food for dogs (for the organization Adana), non-perishable food (for Alternatives Coordinator), toys (for the Reyes Magos 98 association) and craftwork and food were sold. All of the school´s families got behind the event and managed to collect no less than €3300 for different organisations, 240kg of food, several items for food and more than 150 toys. We will undoubtedly do this again! Thanks to everyone that made it possible!

Pupils from San José School participate in European Parliament Session A group of 2nd year Baccalaureate pupils from San José School participated in a Parliamentary Session alongside 600 students from all the countries of the European Union. The sessions took place in the Chamber of the European Union in Strasbourg, where they gave speeches in English and French, in multilingual working groups. The event brought together the young winners of the 2016 EUROSCOLA competition. The students were welcomed by Administrators of the European Parliament, who presented the institution and led them to the

seats of the MEPs, representing their country and the school they came from. They held a debate

about the construction of Europe and in the afternoon they worked in committees on different issues,

that they had previously studied in their countries of origin; they voted and outlined their conclusions through chosen spokespeople. Guillermo Albarrán, from San José School, was the designated spokesperson for the Committee on Youth Employment, outlining the conclusions of the working group. In addition to Guillermo, Mercedes Bauzano, Salvador Díaz, Sabina Domínguez, Ángela García, María Gutiérrez, Rafael Pérez, Mario Román, Marta Serrano and Romilly Swan formed the team of students from San

Plazo de presentación de la declaración informativa anual sobre bienes y derechos situados en el extranjero (Modelo 720): hasta el 31 de marzo de 2017 Un año más, le recordamos que las personas y entidades residentes en España en 2016 que tengan o hayan tenido algún tipo de vinculación con bienes y derechos situados fuera de España tienen nuevamente una cita muy importante con la Hacienda española. Desde el 1 enero hasta el 31 marzo 2017 debe presentarse el modelo 720 correspondiente al ejercicio 2016 (“Declaración informativa sobre bienes y derechos en el extranjero”), debiendo tener presente que en caso de incumplimiento las sanciones y consecuencias pueden ser muy graves. Los contribuyentes deberán informar sobre los bienes y derechos que tienen en el extranjero, tanto cuentas en

entidades ﬁnancieras, como bienes inmuebles, valores, derechos, seguros y rentas depositadas, gestionados u obtenidos fuera de España. Se excluye de esta obligación de declarar cuando el valor de los mismos no supere los 50.000 euros por cada tipo de bien o derecho. Para aquellos que presentaron el Modelo 720 anteriormente, sólo será obligatoria la presentación cuando cualquiera de los saldos conjuntos de los tres diferentes bloques de bienes que son de obligada información (cuentas bancarias, acciones o inmuebles) hubiese experimentado un incremento superior a 20.000 euros respecto de los que determinaron la presentación de la

declaración en el año anterior. En todo caso, será obligatoria la presentación de la declaración para aquellos bienes ya declarados y respecto a los cuales el contribuyente pierda la condición que determinó en su día la obligación de declarar. En relación a los bienes y derechos que deben ser objeto de declaración, existen diversos matices que hay que tener en cuenta, como por ejemplo, que se deben declarar las cuentas bancarias en las que exista una titularidad compartida cuando exista un saldo a 31 de diciembre superior a los 50.000 euros y que también se deberá declarar la titularidad compartida que recaiga sobre bienes inmuebles

cuando el valor de adquisición supere los 50.000 euros a 31 de diciembre. La sanción por no presentar declaración o hacerlo con errores u omisiones es de 5.000 euros por dato o grupo de datos, con un mínimo de 10.000 euros por cada grupo de bienes. La sanción por presentarla fuera de plazo es de 100 euros por dato con un mínimo de 1.500 euros por cada grupo. Además de esa sanción, la normativa establece otra grave consecuencia tanto por no cumplir la obligación de informar como por hacerlo fuera de plazo, y es que Hacienda puede llegar a considerar que los bienes en el extranjero son ganancia patrimonial no justiﬁcada y

perty, assets, entitlements, insurance and income deposited, managed or obtained outside of Spain. This excludes the obligation to declare when the value of said assets does not surpass 50,000 Euros for each type of asset or entitlement. For those that have presented the 720 Form previously, it is only necessary to submit it when any of the joint balances of the three diﬀerent assets that must be reported (bank accounts, assets or property) have experience growth of more than 20,000 Euros in relation to what was recorded in the declaration last year. In any case, it will obligatory to submit the declaration for

assets already declared and with regard to which the tax payer loses the condition that once determined the obligation to declare. With regard to the assets and rights that must be declared, there are diﬀerent nuances that need to be taken into account. For example, it is necessary to declare bank accounts with shared ownership when there is a balance on 31 December higher than 50,000 Euros, and it is also necessary to declare shared ownership that concerns property when the acquisition value was surpasses 50,000 Euros on 31 December. The sanction for not presen-

Quirónsalud Campo de Gibraltar formará Más de 2.100 embarazadas acuden a a los profesionales talleres preparatorios en la Comarca de Horeca Las matronas de los centros de salud ofrecen sesiones informativas, ejercicios físicos y técnicas de relajación a las futuras madres y sus parejas

Un total de 2.127 mujeres del Área de Gestión Sanitaria del Campo de Gibraltar asistieron durante el pasado año a los talleres de educación maternal y preparación al parto y puerperio que organizan los centros de atención primaria de los siete municipios de esta comarca. Se trata de una serie de actividades incluidas en el Programa de Atención al Embarazo, Parto y Puerperio de la Consejería de Salud y que prepara a las futuras madres y a sus parejas para el momento del nacimiento y los cuidados de su bebé. Entre el 1 de enero y el 31 de diciembre de 2016, las matronas del Área registraron 2.819 mujeres en el Proceso Asistencial Integrado de Embarazo, Parto y Puerperio de la Consejería de Salud. De ellas, 2.494 tuvieron el primer contacto por su matrona antes de las 12 semanas de gestación. En ese sentido, cabe resaltar que la captación precoz es de suma importancia con el fin de poder iniciar tratamientos preventivos y seguimiento ecográfico durante el primer trimestre.

El Hospital Quirónsalud Campo de Gibraltar y la Federación de Hostelería de la provincia de Cádiz (HORECA) sellaron un convenio de colaboración mediante el cual el centro hospitalario formará en primeros auxilios a los miembros de la federación, con el fin de que conozcan las maniobras básicas para poder responder ante una emergencia que se produzca en sus establecimientos hasta la llegada de los equipos sanitarios. Se han programado tres cursos, el 26 de enero en Jerez y los días 2 y 9 de febrero en Algeciras y Cádiz respectivamente. Sotogrande sigue siendo el destino predilecto, otro invierno más, para una gran cantidad de equipos de fútbol de primer nivel del norte de Europa. Son muchos los equipos que desde el mes de diciembre viajan desde todo el continente para realizar en la zona su preparación invernal, antes de reanudarse sus respectivas competiciones domésticas tras el parón en los meses más fríos del año. En este caso, con alojamiento en el Hotel Almenara, son varios los equipos que realizan sus sesiones de entrenamiento en las

extraordinarias instalaciones de Ayala Polo Club. Además de las sesiones, prácticamente a diario se celebran encuentros amistosos entre diferentes equipos (algunos de ellos, con sede durante la preparación en la Costa del Sol). Este reportaje lo ilustran las imágenes del partido amistoso entre el conjunto de la segunda división de Dinamarca, el HB Koge, y el exótico conjunto japonés Shonan Bellmare, también de la división de plata nipona. Concretamente, el equipo asiático en los últimos días se enfrentó

a conjuntos como el Rubin Kazan (Rusia), también presente en Sotogrande (en Almenara) o el también ruso Lokomotiv de Moscú. Por su parte, el CSKA de Sofía (Bulgaria), también se dejó ver por la zona al quedarse instalado en el Hotel San Roque Suites. En las últimas semanas, equipos como el Brujas (Bélgica), PSV (Holanda), SC Friburgo (Alemania), Sparta Praga (Rep. Checa), FC Zürich (Suiza), FC St. Pauli (Alemania), Lyngby BK (Dinamarca) o el chino Tiajin Teda pasaron también por Sotogrande.

Sergio García añadió un nuevo triunfo para su palmarés. Se alzó campeón del Omega Dubai Desert Classic, torneo perteneciente al Circuito Europeo disputado en el Emirates Golf Club de Dubái, prueba que lideró de principio a fin con vueltas de 65-67-68-69 y 19 bajo par en el total, para terminar imponiéndose con tres golpes de ventaja sobre el sueco Henrik Stenson. El castellonense suma con ésta 36 victorias en su palmarés, 12 de ellas en el Tour Europeo, en el que esta semana cumplía 250 participaciones. Sergio García, masterclass to take victory in Dubai The Castellon player won the Omega Dubai Desert Classic Golf in resounding style, leading from start to finish Sergio García has added another triumph to his trophy cabinet. He was crowned champion of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic, a tournament that is part of the European Circuit, and held at the Emirates Golf Club in Dubai. He led the tournament from beginning to end with rounds of 65-67-68-69 and an overall score of 19 under par, to end up winning with a three shot advantage over the Swede Henrik Stenson.

This was the Castellón player´s 36th trophy. 12 of those victories have come on the European Tour, and this week he made his 250th appearance on the Tour. With this victory he is ranked third in the Race to Dubai, back into the World Top Ten and he follows in the footstep of previous tournament winners Seve Ballesteros (1992), José Mari Olazábal (1998), Miguel Ángel Jiménez (2010), Alvaro Quirós

Las inscripciones para la IV edición del Duatlón Cross San Roque ya están abiertas La prueba se disputa el próximo domingo 5 de marzo 1 Manuel Gil

La Delegación de Deportes ya ha abierto el plazo para inscribirse en el IV Duatlón Cross San Roque 2017, que se celebrará en la zona recreativa del Pinar del Rey el próximo domingo 5 de marzo. Se trata de una prueba abierta, de dificultad media, tanto para atletas federados en triatlón como para no federados, para un máximo de 200 participantes. La cuota de inscripción es de 15 euros para federados y de 22 euros para no federados. Las inscripciones se realizarán a través de la página www.sanroque.es, siendo la fecha límite el próximo 2 de marzo a las 14 horas. El inscrito podrá recoger su dorsal en la Delegación de Deportes de San Roque (Plaza de Armas s/n, junto a la iglesia) a partir del

viernes 3 de marzo en horario de 8:00 a 13:30 horas, o el día de la prueba en la carpa de la organización. La prueba comienza a las 10:30 horas. Para la recogida de dorsales es obligatorio presentar el DNI o tarjeta federativa. Para cualquier incidencia o error con las inscripciones, se dispone del siguiente número de teléfono: 956 780 106, extensiones 2325 y 2322, así como enviando un correo electrónico a deportes@sanroque.es. La distancia sobre la que se competirá será de la categoría Duatlón Cross, que se compone de 6 km de carrera a pie (1º segmento), 20 km de carrera a bici MTB (2º segmento) y 3 km de carrera a pie (3º segmento). El circuito estará cerrado al tráfico y controlado por la Policía Local de San Roque, Protección Civil y voluntarios.

Remodelan el área deportiva del Paseo Marítimo de Torreguadiaro En el área deportiva de la playa de Torreguadiaro, en el Paseo Marítimo, se han efectuado una serie de mejoras efectuadas por el Consistorio sanroqueño. En se sustituyó el albero por hormigón en el campo de fútbol 7, se reparó la cancha de baloncesto, y se construyó una pista de petanca. El no contar con espacios deportivos cerrado en Torreguadiaro, uno de los motivos de tratar de mejorar y presentar este punto en las mejores condiciones posibles. Con esta obra, se trata de optimizar los espacios públicos; así, a la cancha de baloncesto existente se suma la sustitución del albero por hormigón en la pista de futbito, y por expreso deseo de la Asociación de Vecinos, una pista de petanca con sus medidas reglamentarias.

Sports area on Promenade in Torreguadiaro remodelled The Council of San Roque has carried out a series of improvements on the sports area on Torreguadiaro beach, at the Promenade. The sand on football pitch 7 has been replaced with concrete, the basketball court has been repaired and a boules court has been built. The fact that there are no enclosed sports spaces in Torreguadiaro, is one of the reasons for trying to improve and present this space in the best possible condition.

Registrations for the 4th San Roque Cross Duathlon now open The Sports Department has opened the registration period for the 4th San Roque Cross Duathlon, to be held in the recreational area of Pinar del Rey on Sunday 5 March. This is an open even, of intermediate difficult, for federated triathletes as well as non-federated ones, with a maximum of 200 participants. The registration fee is 15 Euros for federated triathletes and 22 Euros for non-federated triathletes. Registrations will be made

through the page www.sanroque.es, and the deadline is 2 March at 2pm. Those registered can collect their bib at the San Roque Sports Department (Plaza de Armas, no number, next to the church) from Friday 3 March, open from 8am to1pm, or on the day of the event at the organization’s tent. For four days the facilities at Dos Lunas Dressage & Polo Club became the main venue for dressage in Spain

Dos Lunas, venue for 2017 Elite Dressage Program Dos Lunas Polo & Dressage has hosted the first of the equestrian preseason clinics, part of the 2017 Elite Classic Dressage Program that the Royal Spanish Equestrian Federation is organising. This initiative brings together the best pairings from all over the country (in this case from the southern region), to a few days of preparation ahead of the imminent season of international competitions.

Specifically, for two days Dos Lunas hosted the adults’ clinic (approximately 40 pairs); while the clinic for children took place two days later, with the participation of 25 pairs. This data means that more than 60 of the best male and female riders from the region visited the Dos Lunas facilities, providing intensive training at the highest international level. These clinics have the best rid-

ers in the region, which makes it possible to establish strategies for training, selection and integrating them into elite international competition. This is because they can enjoy technical guidance from a group of experts that work throughout these days. Specifically, in 2017, the RFHE has technical management from Luis Lucio. It also the advisers: Nicky Barret (Minors and

“Siempre le he dicho a María que era una número 1” 1 Redacción

Juan Antonio Marín es mucho más que la mano derecha de María Parra. El profesional andaluz es su entrenador desde que siendo muy pequeñita ingresó en la academia SIGA Sotogrande. Es también su manager y lo que haga falta para que María esté a gusto y pueda desplegar todo el potencial de golf que lleva dentro. Parra debutó en el LPGA Tour en Bahamas, pasó el corte y ya demostró a las primeras de cambio que puede codearse con las mejores del mundo desde el principio. ¿Qué hace de María Parra una golfista especial? Es una jugadora muy completa en todas las facetas del juego y tiene muy claras sus metas y lo que quiere ser en la vida. Todo esto, unido a su mentalidad ganadora, la convierte una jugadora diferente y especial. ¿Qué pensó la primera vez que vio a María con un palo de golf? La verdad es que la primera vez que la vi fue el día que empezamos a trabajar juntos en nuestra Academia (SIGA). No la había visto antes entrenando o compi-

tiendo. Mi primer pensamiento fue que podíamos conseguir un mayor rendimiento del que tenía. ¿En qué momento creyó que María sería profesional? Al poco tiempo, por cómo asimilaba los cambios, por su manera de trabajar y por la importancia que le daba a todo lo que hacía, ya sabía que sería profesional de este deporte. ¿En qué diría que ha mejorado más María? La parcela técnica que más ha mejorado en el último años ha sido sin duda el juego corto. Todos los golpes por debajo de 100 metros y su putt. De mismo modo, también ha mejorado cómo maniobrar mucho más con los efectos y trayectorias de sus golpes en el campo. ¿Dónde tiene mayor margen de mejora? En el golf no existe la perfección, por lo tanto, siempre se puede mejorar en todos los aspectos de este deporte. Y como se han juntado dos perfeccionistas… pues seguro que siempre encontraremos algo que mejorar.

¿Cuándo fue la última vez que le dejó con la boca abierta? Bueno… Me deja muchas veces porque como tiene un afán de superación tremendo, lo suele hacer muy a menudo. Aunque la última y que todos recordamos fue ese golpe de mano en la Final de la Escuela LPGA, para conseguir de pleno una plaza en el mejor circuito del mundo. Fue la más importante, pero vendrán más

¿Cuál es el consejo que más veces le ha repetido? Tener paciencia, aguantar en momentos delicados en la competición y sobre todo creer en lo que hace y cómo lo hace. De qué está más orgulloso en su formación... Sin duda, de ver dónde está María ahora y donde puede llegar si sigue así, sobre todo teniendo en cuenta que hubo un momento en su vida,

cuando la conocí, en el que dudaba si seguir jugando o no a este deporte. Menos mal que no lo hizo… Piense en grande, ¿dónde ve a María? Esta pregunta es muy fácil contestar. Yo siempre le he dicho que era la Número 1. Y es que entre nosotros desde hace años le recuerdo la respuesta a esta pregunta: A los dos nos gusta mucho el Número 1.

He is also her manager and does whatever he can to ensure María is at ease and get show off all the golfing potential she has within. Parra made her debut on the LPGA Tour in Bahamas, she made the cut and showed at the first instance that she can handle life alongside the world´s best from the outset. What makes María Parra a special golfer? She is a very complete player in all areas of her game and is very clear about her goals and what she wants to be in life. All of this, along with her winning mentality, makes her a different and special player.

What is the advice that you have repeated most? Be patient, stick in there during difficult moments in the competition, and above all believe in what you do and how you do it.

What did you think the first time you saw María with a golf club? The truth is that the first time I saw her was the day we began working together at our Academy (SIGA). I had not seen her train or compete before that. My first thought was that we could get a much higher level of performance out of her. At what point did you think that María would be professional? Soon afterwards, due to the way she assimilated changes, her way of working and the importance she attached to everything she did, she knew that she would be a professional in this sport. What would you say María has most improved at? There is no doubt that the technical aspect that she has improved over the last few years has been her short game. All the shots from 100 metres in and her putting. Likewise, she has really

improved how she handles the effects and paths of her shots out on the course. Where does she have most room for improvement? Perfection does not exist in golf; so it is always possible to improve all aspects in this sport. And as two perfectionists are working together…well we will certainly find something to improve.

When was the last time that she left you stunned? Well… that happens often because she has a real desire to always be better, she does so very often. However, the last time and a moment that we can all remember was that shot in the final of the LPGA School, in order to gain a full place on the best circuit in the world. That was the most important, but there will be lots more moments…

What are you proudest of with her training… Undoubtedly, seeing where María is now and where she can get to if she continues like that, especially bearing in mind that there was a time in her life, when I met her, when she had doubts about continuing to play the sport or not. Thank goodness she stuck with it… Think big, where do you see María? That question is very easy to answer. I have always told her that she was Number 1. And for many years now I can remember the answer to that question: Both of us really like the Number 1.

The Cross Country team from Sotogrande International School managed to take victory for the ﬁrst time in the International Schools Cross Country Championship. This is extraordinary news for the area and real backing for the great training work in the school for the sport, in order to obtain such results. There is no doubt that top spot overall in the Championship is an historic feat for the school after 30 years. This is a very special triumph where the SIS team managed to double the number of points attained last year in the general rankings. is comprised by the best courses in the area, with Sotogrande serving as the base for events, as the epicentre, but without losing the distinctive feature of holding some of the events outside the area in order to enjoy a different experience. El colectivo que forman los miembros de la Flota J80 Marina de Sotogrande, respaldados por el Club Náutico Bevelle, recibieron la visita de varios niños procedentes del Club Náutico de La Línea, con motivo de la celebración de un clinic en el que conocer las particularidades y características de una

regata con monotipos J80. Esta clase, una de las más instauradas en Sotogrande desde hace años y que cuenta con un circuito propio del que ya disputa su sexta edición, es una de las más atractivas para la competición al aunar a expertos y no tanto, en una misma embarcación. Razón de sobra

para conseguir que sea una de las más practicadas. Los más pequeños disfrutaron de lo lindo durante la visita, ayudados por Germán Panei, y conocieron todos los detalles de una de las categorías más populares en la zona, y además pudieron navegar por el campo de regatas.

Triunfo y optimismo para Jordi García, en Gecko Tour Golf Jordi García del Moral se impuso en la prueba del Gecko Tour celebrada en el recorrido Paraíso Golf Club. Emocionante victoria en lo sentimental y en lo deportivo. El jugador español derrotó en el tercer hoyo de desempate al irlandés Tommy O’Driscoll y al alemán Finn Fleer después de empatar con un total de 132 golpes, diez bajo par. “Sinceramente me he encontrado un poco la victoria. Es cierto que podía haber ganado en el hoyo 72. Tuve un putt de birdie de dos metros y me hizo corbata completa. Después tuve también un putt de cuatro metros en el primer hoyo de playoff para vencer. Era cuesta abajo y lo vi dentro del hoyo, pero se salió. Sin embargo, en el segundo de desempate fue Fleer quien tuvo el putt de cuatro metros para ganar y en el último he podido aprovechar los errores de mis dos contrincantes. O’Driscoll se lió y Fleer hizo tres putts, el de par desde unos cincuenta centímetros. Era un putt cuesta abajo, rapidísimo y se le escapó”, explica García del Moral, ganador de prestigio en el Gecko, no en vano, ganó la orden de mérito hace dos años. La victoria supone un impulso de optimismo para Jordi. Lo necesitaba. “Después de la Escuela acabé un poco tocado. Me quedé fuera por la única vuelta mala del año, la segunda del Saler. Fue duro y me quedé pensando qué hacer, seguir, no seguir... Le das muchas vueltas a la cabeza. Este triunfo me anima, me empuja a seguir y a demostrarme que estoy haciendo las cosas bien. Hay que ver lo difícil que es ganar ya en cualquier lado. Hemos tenido que hacer diez bajo par para salir a playoff. El nivel es muy alto en todos lados”, afirma Jordi.

I could definitely have won at the 72nd hole. I had a putt for birdie from two metres away and I got tied up completely. Afterwards I also had a putt from four metres away on the first hole of the playoff for the win. It was downhill and I saw it going in the hole, but it slipped out. However, on the second hole of the tiebreak it was Fleer who had the putt from four metres away to win, and on the last one I was able to use both my opponents’ errors as leverage. O’Driscoll had problems and Fleer made a 3-putt for par from fifty centimetres away. It was a downhill putt, really fast and it slipped through his fingers,” explains García del Moral, winner of the prestigious Gecko, who also won the order of merit two years ago. En esta ocasión, igual que en los últimos dos años fuimos mostrando imágenes históricas de la Urbanización y el entorno, publicaremos imágenes de rincones, detalles o lugares muy conocidos por parte de todos los residentes de la zona pero poco reconocibles según el ángulo en el que aparezca la imagen.
