La temporada arranca, desde el perfil turístico, prácticamente con el inicio de la Semana Santa en toda la zona de Sotogrande y el Valle del Guadiaro; así como en los diferentes destinos ligados al visitante que busca playa, sol, buen tiempo, ocio, deporte y gastronomía. Sotogrande luce especialmente bien en estos días de abril y el visitante, además, encontrará nuevos establecimientos y puntos comerciales que sorprenderán a los más habituales.

A niveles generales, en el tramo más fuerte, los datos alcanzarán unos registros superiores al 80/85% de ocupación en la mayoría de los casos y eso que la más que previsible inestabilidad en la meteorología no invitaba a realizar reservas con demasiada atención.

Aunque estos balances son considerablemente positivos teniendo en cuenta sólo es

el inicio de la temporada y que los números están en consonancia con los años de mayor afluencia a la zona. Puntualizar además que ya se encuentran operativos la mayoría de centros hosteleros y que además hay algunas incorporaciones que colaboran en incrementar el número de camas disponibles en todo el Valle del Guadiaro.

En definitiva, todos estos apuntes y análisis si todo transcurre por los senderos previstos contará con un importante salto cuantitativo a medida que avance la temporada.

Precisamente, este año más si es posible, la agenda deportiva que proyecta Sotogrande al exterior hace un año especialmente atractiva para el perfil del turista que suele acudir a Sotogrande.

Y eso sólo es el principio, aún resta un apasionante verano de actividades, eventos, acontecimientos y competiciones con el Torneo Internacional de Polo como uno de sus grandes exponentes. Incluso, a medida que vaya finalizando el verano, el Andalucía Valderrama Masters (el próximo octubre), terminará de disparar los registros en la zona.

El inicio es bueno pero lo que se espera es mejor. A disfrutar y a saber reconducir todas esas apuestas en desarrollo y enriquecimiento de la zona.

In a few weeks, one of the most eyecatching and attractive international

races to see live due to how spectacular the vessels are and the high speeds they reach, the RC44 Class is returning to Sotogrande with one of its events with all the impact that it generates in the area (in previous editions it brought in around one million euros).

This is only the beginning, an exciting summer of activities, events, gathering and competitions awaits, with the International Polo Tournament one of the key events. Indeed, as summer heads towards its close, the Andalusian Valderrama Masters (next October), will cause figures in the area to shoot up.

The start is good, but what is expected is better. We should enjoy and learn how to channel all of these efforts towards the development and enrichment of the area.

Los proyectos del futuro tomaran impulso en plena Semana Santa De manera tradicional, más aún en el sector puramente turístico (hotelero, gastronómico, servicios, etc.), la temporada se daba por comenzada con el inicio de la Semana Santa y las primeras jornadas de sol y buen clima. Afortunadamente, desde hace años, diversas entidades y empresarios de la zona se esfuerzan por hacer 1 José Luis García de Sotogrande un lugar Editor/Director desestacionalizado y con jlgarcia@grupohcp.com un volumen de actividad considerable y a la altura de lo que es: uno de los más lujosos y exclusivos destinos residenciales del continente. Ésa es las gran diferencia y ventaja de este lugar, un destino residencial más allá de las clásicas temporadas de turismo y visitantes. Esfuerzos que tenemos que redoblar, tanto entidades privadas como públicos, para tratar de seguir creciendo en este sentido.

Pero de igual modo, no se puede negar que algo de subida de telón tiene la Semana Santa en Sotogrande y eso se aprecia en la calle

y en los muchos detalles que resaltan a la vista. Adecentamientos, mejoras, instalaciones (hasta los chiringuitos han comenzado con los montajes), reparaciones, servicios de playa, etc. Todo preparado para recibir el primer gran periplo vacacional y de llegada de residentes y visitantes a Sotogrande. Para muchos, la primera toma de contacto del año y en el que encontrarán algunas novedades.

Algunas plasmadas (nuevos establecimientos y puntos comerciales, en especial ligados a la gastronomía y al ocio) y otras en vías de hacerse palpables. No se pierdan entre las páginas de esta edición las últimas novedades de dos de los grandes proyectos que marcarán el futuro de la urbanización en las próximas décadas: por un lado, el proyecto de Los Pinos para desarrollo del mundo del polo en Sotogrande y por otro, los planes de la empresa matriz (Sotogrande S. A.) para La Reserva, enclave en el que debe asentarse el Sotogrande de los próximos años. Sinceramente no logramos entender como las administraciones, y sobre todo, la Consejería de Medio Ambiente, ralentizan y retienen eternamente estos grandes proyectos y otros posibles a nuestro alcance, que generarían mayor riquezas, mas empleo y proyección de nuevos negocios. Y otro tema candente, y es una lástima, que los proyectos hoteleros de gran nivel no se vislumbren aún con gran certeza. Esta asignatura pendiente debería ser un plan inminente y dar el toque de alta calidad que le falta a un destino turístico de altura.

Resaltar por otro lado que también podrán encontrar en esta edición dos artículos, con nombre propio, sobre dos temas de actualidad que

influyen de manera sustancial a buena parte de la comunidad. Por un lado, una de las más reconocibles en El Periódico de Sotogrande, el letrado Luis Babiano, expone la situación jurídica y actual de uno de los temas más controvertidos de los últimos años: las tasas de agua en la zona.

También, con el inicio y puesta en marcha de las negociaciones para la salida del Reino Unido de la Unión Europea (‘Bréxit’), hemos querido contar de nuevo con la opinión del Catedrático en Derecho Internacional de la Universidad de Cádiz y experto en Relaciones Internaciones, Jesús Verdú, para conocer las últimas novedades y los prismas de mayor interés para la zona en este asunto. Distinguido y reconocido profesional con opinión de peso en asuntos ligados a las relaciones con el Peñón. Desde este medio y en próximas ediciones pretendemos recabar mas opiniones sobre el proceso, y sobre todo, en lo que afecta a Gibraltar y por lo tanto a nuestra comunidad local.

En definitiva, la temporada de primavera llega cargada de situaciones importantes y claro está, de la vida de Sotogrande que no es poco. Las importantes competiciones en polo, vela y golf que se encuentran a la vuelta de la esquina y que convertirán este inicio de campaña en una de las más interesantes y atractivas que se recuerden. De nuestra parte, estaremos para contarlo y mientras tanto, disfruten de estos días en Sotogrande.

Future projects will gain momentum in Holy Week.

Traditionally, and even more so in the purely tourist sector (hotels, gastronomy, services, etc.) the season was considered to have begun with the start of Holy Week and the first days of sun and good weather. Fortunately, for years, different entities and business people have been striving to make Sotogrande a deseasonalised place and with a considerable level of activity and befitting of what it is: one of the most luxury and exclusive residential destinations on the continent. That is the big difference and the advantage of this place, a residential destination beyond the classic seasons of tourism and visitors. These are efforts that we have to step up, via both private and public entities, in order to continue to grow in this regard.

But likewise, it cannot be denied that Holy Week in Sotogrande is a bit of a curtain raiser and that can be noted in the street and in lots of details that are striking. Fitting out work, improvements, facilities (even the beach bars have begun assembly), repairs, beach services, etc. Everything is prepared to welcome the first big holiday period, and the arrival of residents and visitors in Sotogrande. For many, it is the first contact of the year, and they will find some new developments.

Some have been implemented (new establishments and

commercial premises, especially those linked to gastronomy and leisure) and others in the process of being carried out. In the pages of this edition, do not miss out on the latest news about two of the big projects that will define the future of the resort over the coming decades: on one hand, the project in Los Pinos to develop the world of polo in Sotogrande, and on the other, the plans of the parent company (Sotogrande S.A.) for La Reserva, an area that the Sotogrande of the coming years should be based on.

Honestly, we cannot understand how the administrations, and above all, the Environmental Department, are slowing down and perpetually holding back these large projects and other possible projects within our reach, which would generate greater wealth, more employment and the visibility of new businesses. Another hot topic, and it is a shame, is that we can still not glimpse the top level hotel projects with great certainty. This unfinished business should be an imminent plan and add the high quality touch required by a top-level tourism destination.

On the other hand, it is worth highlighting that in this edition you can find two signature articles, regarding two current issues that have a significant influence on a substantial part of the community. On one hand, one of the

most recognisable names in El Periódico de Sotogrande, the lawyer Luis Babiano, outlines the legal and current situation of one of the most controversial issues of the last few years; water rates in the zone.

Also, with the start and launch of negotiations for the exit of the United Kingdom from the European Union (Brexit) we wanted to hear the opinion of the Professor in International Law at the University of Cadiz and an expert in International Relations, Jesús Verdú, in order to find out the latest development and the most interesting perspectives for the area regarding this matter. He is a distinguished and renowned professional with important views regarding relations with the Rock. In this media outlet and in future editions we aim to collect more opinions about the process, and above all, how it affects Gibraltar and therefore our local community.

In short, the spring season arrives filled with important situations and of course, a big impact on Sotogrande life which is not insignificant. The important polo, sailing and golf competitions are just around the corner and they will turn this start of the campaign into one of the most interesting and appealing in memory. We will be here to report it, and meanwhile enjoy this time in Sotogrande.

El Ayuntamiento sanroqueño mostró su apoyo y respaldo a la compañía Sotogrande SA para el proceso de certificación de sus nuevos planes para la zona de La Reserva. Así se lo transmitieron a los responsables de la Dirección General de Planificación Hidrológica, de la Consejería de Medio Ambiente de la Junta, en una reunión en Sevilla en los que también es-

tuvieron los promotores de la empresa.

Inicialmente, Sotogrande SA había previsto desarrollar en la zona de La Reserva un segundo campo de golf, “pero coincidimos con la propiedad que los 9 campos de golf de San Roque, algunos los mejores de Europa, son suficientes para la oferta de turismo deportivo de la ciudad”, indicó el alcalde, Juan

Carlos Ruiz Boix. Por ello, se ha trasladado a la Junta que los nuevos proyectos constructivos de Sotogrande SA para la zona cuentan con el total apoyo que el Ayuntamiento, “para diversificar las atenciones que tenemos para nuestro turistas con nuevos recursos y productos”.

La reunión tuvo la finalidad de coordinar con la Junta de Andalucía que las actuaciones que

ha previsto para esta zona de La Reserva la actual propiedad de Sotogrande SA, y puedan realizarse con el visto bueno de la administración andaluza y del propio Ayuntamiento. El alcalde señaló que “hemos encontrado con departamentos de la Junta la sintonía adecuada para desarrollar las propuestas, que recibirían los informes positivos necesarios”.

7. Se realiza un envío masivo de correos destinado a un grupo de entre 5000 y 10.000 candidatos a compradores de «Destino Sol».

8. Anuncio en la revista Barnes Luxury Home Internacional, con una tirada de 300.000 ejemplares, además de en la versión suiza de la revista.

El conjunto de estas operaciones impone a la agencia unas inversiones y unas colaboraciones que justifican una exclusividad limitada a 12 meses.

La preparación a cargo de Barnes incluye un reportaje de vídeo y un dron profesional y un dossier legal completo.

En algunos casos, la aplicación de técnicas de home staging virtual (retoque para incluir mobiliario) para la propiedad puede aportar un valor añadido a la hora de mostrar los elementos del inmueble.

Revolucione sus motores: Sotogrande acoge el primer rally de coches clásicos y vehículos GT Ponga a punto sus medidores del 24 al 28 de mayo de 2017, fecha en que el primer rally de cinco días de coches clásicos hace su camino a través del sur de Andalucía y culmina en el corazón de Sotogrande.

Algunos de los mejores coches clásicos y GT de Europa se mostrarán durante el fin de semana en La Marina de Sotogrande. Los restaurantes y bares locales de La Marina darán la bienvenida a los visitantes, invitados y participantes durante una maravillosa celebración de la historia del automóvil.

SOTOGRANDE GRAND PRIX® es la primera manifestación andaluza del ZOUTE GRAND PRIX®, uno de los rallies de automóviles más prestigiosos de Europa que ha estado funcionando en Bélgica con un éxito creciente durante los últimos siete años atrayendo regularmente a las principales firmas automovilísticas del mundo. Es habitual ver por las calles de la urbanización imágenes de este tipo con los contenedores de residuos vegetales apostados en los márgenes de la vía. La cuestión es la siguiente, si los visitantes y turistas que nos visitan estos días apreciarán su sentido real o simplemente se llevarán la sensación de que se utilizan para los restos orgánicos y la basura ordinaria. Quizás, plantear una alternativa, fuese una idea a estudio y que ayudase a la imagen del destino.

It is usual to see images of this type on the streets of the urbanization with the containers of vegetable residues placed at the edges of the road. The question is as follows, whether visitors and tourists who visit us these days will appreciate their real meaning or will simply get the feeling that they are used for organic debris and ordinary garbage. El Consistorio trabaja estos días de la mano de la Junta de Andalucía para conseguir avances en proyectos urbanísticos. En este sentido, el alcalde, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, mantuvo una encuentro en Sevilla con responsables de la Consejería de Medio Ambiente para conseguir sendos informes de índole hidrológica sobre la construcción de viviendas y 200 plazas hoteleras en Los Pinos (Torreguadiaro).

Al término de la reunión, el primer edil señaló que “hemos tratado el Plan Parcial de Los Pinos (un desarrollo urbanístico promovido por Santa María Polo Club). En 2015 aprobamos la innovación urbanística, y ahora estamos en la fase de desarrollo de los instrumentos urbanísticos, entre ellos el plan parcial, donde es necesaria la aportación del informe sectorial de la Dirección General de Planificación Hidrológica”.

“Llevamos varios meses -señalótrabajando con este departamen-

to de la Consejería de Medio Ambiente para obtener un informe favorable. Hay que recordar que este proyecto contó con el consenso de los grupos políticos del Ayuntamiento en su aprobación inicial de 2010, y que fue refrendado por la Comisión Territorial de Ordenación del Territorio y Urbanismo (CTOTU) de la Junta de Andalucía en marzo de 2015”.“Esta innovación -indicó el primer edil- posibilitará contar con unas 50 viviendas y 200 plazas hoteleras en Los Pinos, lo que supondrá una generación de riqueza muy importante para San Roque y la creación de una considerable cantidad de puestos de trabajo, lo que resulta fundamental para reducir la lista de desempleo que en el municipio ronda las 3.700 personas”, concluyó Ruiz Boix.

La actuación plantea la creación de un Centro Turístico-Deportivo de excelencia así como nuevos usos hoteleros, residenciales, comerciales y de ocio, que mez-

clan el espectáculo deportivo y los servicios turísticos especializados (Casa Club, Hotel del Polo - Gran lujo 5 estrellas, Pabellón deportivo...) con la finalidad de desestacionalizar la oferta existente en la zona.

La modificación puntual del Plan General de San Roque se desarrolla sobre una superficie de 503.871 m2, localizados entre la Marina de Sotogrande y el núcleo de Torreguadiaro, donde ya se encuentran implantadas las instalaciones deportivas del Santa María Polo Club. Este club está considerado uno de los mejores del circuito internacional y su torneo de verano, declarado de Interés Turístico de Andalucía, se encuentra incluido en el World Polo Tour.

La propuesta se justifica en las nuevas necesidades derivadas de la consolidación del polo en la comarca como activo turístico y en el desarrollo de las previsiones contenidas en el Plan de Ordenación del Territorio del

Campo de Gibraltar (POTCG), aprobado por la Junta de Andalucía en diciembre de 2011.

En torno a las instalaciones deportivas existentes se creará un sector de suelo urbanizable de baja densidad. La edificabilidad máxima prevista es de 75.345 m2. Como mínimo el 50% de esta edificabilidad habrá de dedicarse a establecimientos turísticos de mas de 4 estrellas y 200 plazas, un mínimo del 15% se destinará usos deportivos, actividades de ocio y comercial, y como máximo podrán edificarse 50 viviendas unifamiliares.

La modificación prevé el máximo estándar de dotaciones y equipamientos previsto en la legislación urbanística y destina el 30% de su superficie para nuevos usos públicos. Además aporta una reserva de 21.500 m2 de suelo destinado a sistema general de espacios libres, que formarán parte del futuro parque fluvial del río Guadiaro.

Development project at Los Pinos progresses Council drives attempt to speed up positive reports for various areas via meeting with heads of Environmental Department The Council is currently working alongside the Regional Council of Andalusia in order to make progress on development projects.

In this regard, the mayor, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, held a meeting in Seville with heads of the Environmental Department in order to obtain reports on hydrology for the construction of properties and 200 hotel spaces in Los Pinos (Torreguardiaro).

Following the meeting, the mayor stated that “we looked at the Partial Plan for Los Pinos (an urban development backed by Santa María Polo Club). In 2015 we approved the planning innovation, and we are now in the development phase of planning instruments, including the partial plan, where it is necessary to provide the sector report from the Directorate General of Hydrological Planning”.

He stated that “We have spent several months working with department from the Environmental Department in order to obtain a positive report. It is worth remembering this project had a consensus from the Coun-

cil´s political groups in its initial approval in 2010, and was backed by the Territorial Commission of Land Organisation and Planning (CTOTU) of the Regional Council of Andalusia in March 2105”.

The mayor outlined that “This innovation will make it possible to have 50 properties and 200 hotel spaces at Los Pinos, which will create very significant wealth for San Roque and a considerable number of jobs, which is crucial in order to reduce the unemploy-

ment list which is around 3700 people in the municipality”, concluded Ruiz Boix.

The project proposes the creation of a Sports-Tourism Centre of excellence, as well a new hotel, residential, commercial and leisure uses, which mix sports spectacle and specialised tourism services (Club House, Polo Hotel, 5-star total luxury, a sports pavilion…) with the aim of deseasonalisation of the current range in the area.

The specific modification of

the General Plan of San Roque is being developed on a plot of 503.871 m2, located between Sotogrande Marina and the town of Torreguadiaro, where the sports facilities of Santa María Polo Club already stand. This club is considered to be one of the best on the international circuit and its summer tournament, declared a Tourism Interest of Andalusia, is included in the World Polo Tour.

The proposal is based around

the new needs resulting from the consolidation of polo in the region as a tourism asset and the development of the forecasts contained in the Land Organisation Plan of the Territory of Campo de Gibraltar (POTCG), approved by the Regional Government of Andalusia in December 2011.

A low density development area will be created around the existing sports facilities. The maximum planned development potential is 75.345 m2. A minimum of 50% of this development potential will have to be used for tourism establishments of more than 4-stars and 200 spaces, a minimum of 15% will be allocated to sports use, leisure and commercial activities, and a maximum of 50 single family homes can be built.

The modification envisages the highest standard of fittings and equipment planned in planning legislation and assigns 30% of the space for new public uses. It also provides 21.500m2 of land allocated to a general system of free spaces, which will form part of the future river park of the Guadiaro River.

Ordoñez. Por ello, técnicos de Carreteras “van a ver la viabilidad in situ y la problemática que tienen los vecinos de Guadiaro para llegar desde la A7 hasta esta zona comercial”.

Por último otro de los temas importantes dentro de los proyectos del municipio de San Roque “es la construcción de carriles bici por todo el municipio, y una de la zonas más demandadas y que tenemos en proyecto desde hace varios años es en la zona del Casino dirección Guadiaro para conectar el casco con la zona del Valle del Guadiaro, donde hemos hecho un nuevo trazado y van a ver la posibilidad de arreglar la zona para llevarlo a efecto”.

Por su frialdad calculadora, Mariano Rajoy es considerado un maestro en el manejo de los tiempos. Pero hay otra figura política diestra en ese arte, y nos queda más cerca de Sotogrande: Susana Díaz.

En efecto, la presidenta de la Junta de Andalucía se demoró tanto para presentar su candidatura a la secretaría general del PSOE que hizo pensar que se trataba de una persona torpe, insegura y dubitativa.

Todo sugiere, sin embargo, que estaba haciendo lo mismo que Rajoy: esperar con paciencia, para que el tiempo acabe jugando a su favor.

Y ha pasado mucho tiempo. Rubén Amón, compañero de madrugones en Onda Cero, recordó en El País que la primera vez que saltaron los rumores sobre su posible participación en la carrera fue ¡hace tres años!

El acto del 26 de marzo en Madrid subra-

yó varios elementos importantes, desde el esperado respaldo de la jerarquía hasta la reconciliación con viejos adversarios.

Y había una multitud de gente. Apunta Amón: “fue necesario habilitar un pabellón aledaño para contener la afluencia de militantes: predominaban los andaluces”.

Para demostrar que es ella la que maneja los tiempos, Susana Díaz hasta se hizo esperar para empezar su discurso.

Reconociendo la pericia de su estrategia, que sin duda descolocó a Pedro Sánchez, también hay que reconocer que el tiempo puede jugar en contra de la presidenta andaluza en sus tres dimensiones: el presente, el pasado y el futuro.

El presente del socialismo es complicado, no sólo por la crisis de la socialdemocracia en Europa sino también por su situación en España, que es delicada y cuyo horizon-

te electoral puede empeorar si finalmente Sánchez se impone, se alía con la extrema izquierda de Podemos, y activa los mecanismos de defensa que sabrán aprovechar el PP y Ciudadanos para ganar terreno a costa del PSOE. El pasado es asimismo un pasivo para Díaz, por la mala gestión de los socialistas, especialmente en Andalucía, que progresa gracias a los andaluces y pesar de sus gobernantes.

En cuanto al futuro…nadie lo sabe, naturalmente, y menos con Susana Díaz, que no ha dado ni una idea económica más que la de subir los impuestos, y ha dado pocas claves políticas, aunque intencionadamente presentó una apariencia moderada e integradora. Esperemos que le vaya bien, porque Díaz en el PSOE parece ser como la vejez: es mala, pero la alternativa es peor.

The event held on 26 March in Madrid highlighted various important elements, from the long-awaited backing of the hierarchy to reconciliation with old adversaries.

And there were a lot of people. Amón states: “It was necessary to fit out a neighbouring pavilion in order to contain the crowd of party activists”. In order to show that she is the one handling time, Susana Díaz even made the audience wait before beginning her speech.

While recognising the skill of her strategy, which undoubtedly ousted Pedro Sánchez, it is also worth recognising that time may work against the Andalusian president, in its three dimensions: present, past and future.

The present state of socialism is complicated, not only due to the crisis of social democracy in Europe, but also due to its situation in Spain, which is delicate and whose electoral horizon could get worse if Sánchez ultimately wins, joins forces with the extreme left of Podemos, and activates the defence mechanisms that the PP and Ciudadanos will be able to take advantage of, to the cost of the PSOE. The past is also a liability for Díaz, due to the poor management of socialists, especially in Andalusia, which is progressing thanks to the Andalusian people themselves and in spite of their leaders.

As for the future...naturally, nobody knows, and less so with Susana Díaz, who has not provided a single economic idea other than raising taxes, and she has offered few key political ideas, although she has intentionally offered a moderate and integrative appearance. Let´s hope that things go well for her, because Díaz in the PSOE seems to be like old age: it is bad, but the alternative is worse.

El agua en Sotogrande Probablemente alguno de los lectores sepa que soy asesor jurídico de Sotogrande SA y que he tenido cierta participación en el contencioso del agua que ha enfrentado a la EUC Parques de Sotogrande y la Comunidad de Propietarios de Playa de 1 Luis Babiano Sotogrande con SotoAbogados / Lawyers grande SA. El origen de Sotogrande la controversia ha sido la nulidad de las tasas del agua que venía aplicando la entidad concesionaria del suministro de agua potable, AGUAS DEL VALLE DEL GUADIARO, declarada primero por el Tribunal Superior de Justicia de Sevilla y confirmada luego por el Tribunal Supremo.

Dada mí esta involucración en el contencioso, he preferido no escribir nada al respecto para que no pareciera que mi criterio u opinión era interesado pero ahora, una vez que los Tribunales han dicho la última palabra, creo interesante

badas definitivamente por la Junta de Andalucía y la resolución administrativa que ha sido anulada es precisamente de la Junta de Andalucía. Para mayor sarcasmo, el motivo de anular esta disposición se fundamentaba en que no era la Junta de Andalucía quien tenía que aprobar las tarifas, al no ser consideradas estas como “precio”, sino que su aprobación correspondía a la propia Mancomunidad de Municipios del Campo de Gibraltar al tratarse de “tasas”.

He oído decir a algún partido político que el Ayuntamiento tiene que defender a los vecinos contra la concesionaria por el tema del agua. Vuelvo a repetir que la concesionaria no está agrediendo a ningún vecino porque no es quién aprueba las tasas. La concesionaria está actuando de pararrayos de las reclamaciones vecinales pero no está afectada económicamente, ni lo estará, por estas actuaciones. Pedir al Ayuntamiento que defienda a los vecinos es pedirle que se defienda de sí mismo porque es la Corporación Local la titular del servicio. Añadir en este apartado que el Ayuntamiento de San Roque ha recuperado la gestión del agua y que en adelante ya no será la Mancomunidad quién la gestione sino directamente el Ayuntamiento. Que partidos políticos presentes en el Ayuntamiento hagan estas afirmaciones supone o una ignorancia inexcusable o la utilización del agua por intereses políticos inconfesables.

tasas se declaró como consecuencia de un defecto de forma en su aprobación pero no de fondo (se tramitó como precio y no como tasa). Esto significa que la sentencia que anula las tarifas del agua no anula las liquidaciones giradas en base a las mismas. También sé que ésta afirmación pueda chocar a mucha gente y sea difícil de entender (¿cómo puede una tasa anulada producir efectos?) pero es la auténtica verdad. El fundamento jurídico es que aun cuando se anule la disposición general que ampara la tarifa aplicada los actos jurídicos individuales de aplicación de la misma no se anulan. Y no es que lo diga yo, sino que lo ha dicho el propio Tribunal Superior de Justicia de Andalucía que es el órgano encargado de ejecutar la sentencia del Tribunal Supremo. Y lo ha dicho en un auto resolviendo un incidente de ejecución planteado por las dos entidades actoras (EUC Parques de Sotogrande y Comunidad de Apartamentos Playa) que expresamente solicitaban la nulidad de las facturaciones efectuadas por la concesionaria aplicando las tasas anuladas antes y después de haberse conocido la sentencia anulatoria del Tribunal Supremo. Textualmente el Tribunal Superior dice lo siguiente en su auto de fecha 27 de febrero de 2017 (que se encuentra íntegramente reproducido en la página web de AGUAS DEL VALLE DEL GUADIARO): “La solicitud planteada por la Comunidad de Propietarios y Entidad

exponer algunas ideas sobre el agua en la urbanización de Sotogrande que pueden ser clarificadoras: AGUAS DEL VALLE DEL GUADIARIO es la concesionaria del servicio público de abastecimiento, saneamiento y depuración de agua potable en Sotogrande. Como tal concesionaria se limita a aplicar las tasas que el organismo titular del Servicio (Mancomunidad de Municipios del Campo de Gibraltar por delegación del Ayuntamiento de San Roque) aprueba. Esto significa que la remuneración que recibe la concesionaria deriva del contrato de concesión y no de las tasas. Por tanto, pensar que atacando las tasas se ataca a la sociedad Sotogrande SA, es falso porque si en algún momento hubiera que devolver algún dinero de la facturación del agua, la devolución tendría que hacerla Mancomunidad.

Insisto y repito que ni Sotogrande S.A. ni su concesionaria intervienen en la fijación de las tasas con la única excepción de elaborar un estudio técnico económico que obviamente debe ser aprobado por el titular del servicio.

El agua en Sotogrande es una de las más baratas, sino la más barata, de todo el Campo de Gibraltar. Yo sé que esta afirmación va a causar sorpresa cuando no incredulidad debido a la cantidad de demagogia e ignorancia existente en este tema, pero es absolutamente cierta y fácilmente comprobable. El problema es que hay una parte importante de la urbanización que no tiene desdoblada la acometida de agua potable (bastante más cara por la depuración a la que hay que someterla) de la de riego (bastante más barata porque no hay que depurarla tanto) y, en consecuencia, estamos regando nuestros jardines con agua potable por lo que, aunque el metro cúbico de agua sea más barato, la cantidad de agua utilizada puede hacer que la factura sea más abultada.

Este “lujo” se paga y es el motivo por el que la factura del agua parezca más elevada de lo normal. La única solución es desdoblar la acometida lo que supone una inversión de varios millones de euros. Me consta que el problema está sobre la mesa y se están estudiando soluciones.

Según hemos manifestado anteriormente, la nulidad de las

Por tanto, la cuestión está clara y judicialmente cerrada y todo lo que se está diciendo por parte de personas interesadas en que es posible obtener el reembolso de lo pagado es incierto y no se ajusta a lo que han decidido los Tribunales.

El Tribunal encargado de ejecutar la sentencia ha dicho ya claramente que las liquidaciones efectuadas antes y después de conocerse la sentencia anulatoria del Tribunal Supremo son totalmente conformes a derecho y perfectamente válidas.

Water in Sotogrande Some of the readers will probably know that I am a legal advisor to Sotogrande SA and that I have had a certain amount of participation in the water controversy that has caused a dispute between the UCE of the Parks of Sotogrande and the Community of Owners of Sotogrande Beach and Sotogrande SA. The source of this controversy was the annulment of the water rates that had been applied by the entity awarded the supply of drinking water, AGUAS DEL VALLE DEL GUADIARO, declared first by the Supreme Court of Justice of Seville and then confirmed by the Supreme Court.

Given my involvement in this matter, I have preferred not to write anything in relation to it, so that it would not appear that my judgement or opinion was biased, but now that the Courts have had the last word, I think that it would be interesting to outline some ideas about water in the resort of Sotogrande that could clarify matters.

AGUAS DEL VALLE DEL GUADIARIO is the concession holder of the public service for the supply, sanitation and purification of drinking water in Sotogrande. As the concession holder, it is limited to applying the rates that the body that owns the service (Association of Municipalities of Campo de Gibraltar through a delegation of the Council of San Roque) approves. This means that the payment that the concession holder receives results from the concession contract and not from the rates. Therefore, to think that attacking the rates means attacking the company Sotogrande SA is false because if at any point it was necessary to return any of the money invoiced for water, the return would have to be made by the Association of Municipalities. I insist and repeat that neither Sotogrande S.A nor its concession holder are involved in the fixing of rates, with the sole exception of creating a technical-financial report that obviously has to be approved by the holder of the service.

Furthermore, in the case of the annulled rates, they were definitively approved by the Regional Government of Andalusia and the administrative ruling that has been annulled is precisely that of the Regional Government of Andalusia. What is even more comical, the reason this provision was annulled was based around the fact that it was not the Regional Council of Andalusia that had to approve the rates, as they were not considered as a “price”. Rather, approval was the responsibility of the Campo de Gibraltar Association of Municipalities itself as they are “fees”.

I have heard some political parties saying that the Council needs to defend residents against the concession holder in relation to the issue of water. I repeat again that the concession holder is not harming any residents as it does not approve the rates. The concession holder is acting as a lightning conductor for claims from residents but it is not affected financially, and nor will it be, by these proceedings. Asking the Council to defend residents is asking it to defend itself because the Local Corporation holds the service. It is worth adding in this regard that the Council of San Roque has recovered the management of water and that from now on it will not be the Association of Municipalities that manages it, but rather the Council directly. The fact that political parties on the Council make these statements is either inexcusable ignorance or water is being used for secret political interests.

Water in Sotogrande is one of the cheapest rates, if not the cheapest rate, in all of Campo de Gibraltar. I know that this statement is going to cause surprise or even incredulity due to the amount of demagogy and ignorance that exists around this subject, but it is absolutely true and can easily be checked. The problem is that there is a significant part of the resort that does not have the drinking water connection split up (it is quite expensive due to the purification that it must undergo) from the irrigating water (significantly cheaper because it does not need so much purification).

Consequently, we are watering our gardens with drinking water therefore, although a cubic meter of water is cheaper, the quantity of water used may make the bill larger. We pay for this “luxury” and that is the reason why the water bill may seem higher than normal. The only solution is to break down the connection which involves an investment of several million euros. I am aware that the problem is being looked at and that solutions are being studied.

As we have stated previously, the annulment of these rates was declared as a consequence of a defect in how they were approved, but not with the substance of them (they were processed as a price and not as a rate). This means that the ruling that cancels the water rates does not cancel the settlements issued that were based on them.

I also know that this statement may clash with many people and be difficult to understand (how can a cancelled rate have effects?) but that is the real truth. The legal basis is that event when the general provision is cancelled covering the rate applied, the individual legal actions that apply are not annulled. It is not just me saying it, rather, it has been said by the High Court of Justice of Andalusia which is the institution responsible for implementing the Supreme Court ruling. It has already said so in a ruling to settle an interlocutory application for enforcement brought by the two claimants (UCE Sotogrande Parks and the Community of Beach Apartments) who expressly requested the annulment of the invoices made by the concessionaire applying the rates cancelled before and after the annulment ruling was made by the Supreme Court. Textually, the High Court says the following in its proceedings dated 27 February 2017 (which is reproduced in full on the website of AGUAS DEL VALLE DEL GUADIARO); “The application made by the Community of Owners and the Urban Entity cannot be met as the actions undertaken subsequent to the ruling that are intended to be carried out through the Public Administrations involved are consistent with the legal basis and ruling contained in it, having been published by the Official Bulletin of the Regional Government of Andalusia. Concise but sufficient for the intended effects. In any case, the ruling was not made on the settlements by sustaining the claim of the claimant based on the legal nature of the rates, a legal matter that exempts analysis of individual legal situations”.

Therefore, the matter is clear and legally closed and everything that is being said by interested people that it is possible to obtain a refund on what has been paid is untrue and does not correspond to what the Courts have decided. The Court responsible for making the ruling has already said clearly that settlements made before and after the annulment ruling of the Supreme Court was made are totally in compliance with law and perfectly valid.

Se da particularmente este año la singularidad de que el caprichoso calendario, concretamente la primera luna llena de la primavera, desplaza a la Semana Santa hasta el ecuador del mes de abril. Una cuestión, respecto al sector turístico, que provoca dos situaciones contrarias pero en ambos casos beneficiosas una vez lanzada la temporada de este año. Si bien, una Semana Santa tan tardía retrasa el despegue definitivo de la campaña turística en la zona y en el entorno, al pasar el tramo del puente largo de la Semana Mayor en la segunda quincena de abril se despierta el interés y atractivo para todos aquellos turistas nacionales e internaciones que en dichas fechas comienzan a desplazarse hasta destinos vinculados al sol, playa y buen tiempo.

En el caso de Almenara, en Semana Santa, el periplo comienza con algunos puntos por encima de la media ocupación para terminar con datos superiores al 80%. Con un perfil más nacional que extranjero en los visitantes, propio de estas fechas, la oferta deportiva con salidas al campo, cultura y de ocio en la zona, incrementa el interés exterior.

A partir de la próxima quincena, previsiblemente, el tradicional Hotel Sotogrande junto al C. C. Mar y Sol, también comenzará a operar con la demanda de reservas y de plazas hoteleras en la zona para los próximos meses de abril y mayo.

 Perspectivas profesionales para la temporada La prestigiosa entidad de estudios sobre turismo Exceltur vaticina a través de un estudio elaborado por dicha firma que el sector turístico seguirá creciendo en 2017 pero a menor ritmo, al atenuarse la mayoría de los vientos de cola que han soplado a favor en 2016. Concretamente, estima que el PIB turístico crezca un 3,2% en 2017, de forma que el turismo seguirá siendo uno de los principales motores del crecimiento de la economía española y de la creación de empleo.

Specifically, it estimates that the tourism GDP will grow by 3.2% in 2017, in such a way that tourism will continue to be one of the main driving forces for the growth of the Spanish economy and the creation of employment.

However, such a late Holy Week pushes back the definitive start of the tourism campaign in the zone and surrounding area, as the long bankholiday of the big week takes place in the second fortnight of April, it awakens the interest and appeal of all the national and international tourists who are at that time starting to head to destinations linked to sun, beach and good weather.

This dichotomoy, in either of the two cases that we have experienced in 2017, is the direct opposite situation to what happened last year, and ends to benefiting Sotogrande and Valle del Guadiaro. Although, in general, the hotel and services sectors have noted the increase in activity in the area and dynamism due to visitors that that have begun to arrive since midway through March, with

the imminent Holy Week now underway and the two months before the start of the summer season, the level of occupancy, bookings and interest of tourism operators and individuals, has shot up notably, hinting at a campaign of great records.

Broadly speaking in terms of numbers and figures, in a broad and general spectrum, the zone will go through Holy Week with occupancy levels higher than 70%. The same happens in terms of services, and it is expected that there will be lots of economic activity in restaurant establishments and businesses throughout this initial stage of the season, which will head in the same direction until the end of May with the definitive start of the summer campaign.

In terms of each of the strategic points of the area, in the case of Hotel Club Marítimo Sotogrande in the heart of So-

togrande Marina, the data and forecasts are very optimistic.

With the figures available, the inter-annual and monthly assessments position the demand way above the data of last year, with three or four percentage points more, As always, with a traditional profile and a repeat in client profiles each year (more national tourists during Holy Week), the forecast stands at around 80% and higher during the final stretch. There is a similar situation at San Roque Suites Hotel, with a start to the week of somewhat higher than 60% occupancy (similar in the sense that many tourists do not only come attracted by the destination and good weather, rather, because they have the option to be next to a golf course like San Roque Club); before finishing the holiday period with records higher than 80%. ‘Brexit’ y Gibraltar: El vuelo del cisne negro En relaciones internacionales se denomina cisne negro al acontecimiento imprevisto que modifica sustancialmente y de forma acelerada los términos conocidos de funcionamiento del sistema internacional. En este sentido, el resultado del referéndum celebrado el pasado 23 de junio de 2016 sobre la continuidad o salida ✑ Jesús Verdú del Reino Unido de Doctor en Derecho por la la Unión Europea Universidad de Cadiz puede ciertamente Experto en Derecho y ser considerado un Relaciones Internacionales cisne negro al sorprender con un resultado que, aunque potencialmente posible, no era el esperado, ni por el Gobierno de Cameron ni por la UE, que previamente había cedido unas condiciones de permanencia especialmente delicadas y excepcionales, para ayudar al resultado positivo esperable.

En relación con Gibraltar, el vuelo del cisne negro también ha creado una onda de transformación que implica la necesidad de modificar algunos de los parámetros esenciales sobre los que se ha apoyado un eje de difícil y frágil equilibrio: UE-Gibraltar-Reino Unido-España.

La adhesión de Gibraltar a la Unión Europea, con un estatuto específico pactado por el Reino Unido, cuando

España no formaba parte del proceso de integración europea al hallarse hallaba sumergida todavía en el agujero negro del fascismo franquista, ha tenido dos consecuencias. Primero, ha permitido un espectacular modelo de éxito económico al aprovechar las oportunidades de acceso al mercado europeo de actividades de distinto tipo provenientes de empresas radicadas en la Roca. Ahora todos los parámetros están en revisión y la activación formal del mecanismo de salida previsto en el artículo 50 del Tratado de la Unión Europea mediante de carta de 29 de marzo de 2017 de la primera Ministra Theresa May al Consejo de la UE conduce a todas las partes a escenarios desconocidos y a navegar por aguas inexploradas. Por supuesto, no puedo negar mi sensación de que estamos ante la historia de un fracaso común y que el Brexit, a pesar de ser una legítima decisión del pueblo británico, supone una gran derrota del sueño europeo basado en unos valores en retroceso en un mundo en crisis (respeto de la dignidad humana, libertad, democracia, igualdad, Estado de Derecho y respeto de los derechos humanos, incluidos los derechos de las personas pertenecientes a minorías cita el art. 2 del TUE).

En relación con Gibraltar, celebramos que parece finalmente haberse abandonado por España la propuesta de cosoberanía como única vía para Gibraltar de continuar con un estatuto específico de relación con la UE. Se trataba de una propuesta con enormes deficiencias en su planteamiento jurídico y políticamente inaceptable, en cuanto que aspiraba a incorporar a España un territorio sin contar con la voluntad de los habitantes de dicho territorio.

En este proceso complejo y difícil es fundamental que no debe haber vencedores ni vencidos. El vuelo del cisno negro no tiene por qué ser necesariamente negativo. En tiempos de crisis, surge también una oportunidad. España, el Reino Unido y Gibraltar deben buscar un fórmula en el escenario post Brexit que permita diseñar un marco que contribuya a normalizar las relaciones transfronterizas, reforzar la zona, al norte y al sur de la Verja, como espacio compartido de desarrollo y oportunidades.

Brexit and Gibraltar: Flight of the black swan In international relations, black swan is the name given to an unforeseen event that significantly and quickly modifies the known functioning terms of the international system. In this regard, the result of the referendum held on 23 June 2016 regarding the continuity or exit of the United Kingdom from the European Union can certainly be considered as a black swan by surprising with a result that, although potentially possible, was not expected, neither by Cameron´s government nor the EU, which had previously granted especially delicate and exceptional terms for remaining, in order to help the positive result expected.

However, in a world in the deep crisis of the globalisation process and in times where post-truth and the populist Enlightenment are winning, and when it has been possibly for the inflated ego of the multimillionaire Trump to become president of the United States, the result in favour of the United Kingdom leaving the EU was a violent shake up of the political and institutional architecture of Europe.

In terms of Gibraltar, the flight of the black swan has also created a wave of transformation which implies the need to modify some of the essential parameters of an axis on which a difficult and fragile balance has been based: EU-Gibraltar-United Kingdom-Spain.

Gibraltar´s adhesion to the European Union, with a specific statute agreed by the United Kingdom, when Spain did not form part of the European integration process as it was still submerged in the black hole of Francoist fascism, has had two consequences. First, it has allowed for a spectacular model of economic

success by taking advantage of the opportunities to access the European market for different kinds of activities coming from companies established on the Rock. Secondly, the shared membership of the European Union has contributed to normalising relations in Spain, providing effective channels of cooperation through the application of European acquis. In some cases, it has even helped to deactivate and channel potential crises that have arisen in Spain.

Now, all the parameters are undergoing review and

the formal activation of the exit mechanism contained in article 50 of the European Union Treaty via a letter on 29 March 2017 from the Prime Minister Theresa May to the EU Council leads all parties into unknown territory and unchartered waters. Of course, I cannot deny my feeling that we are faced with the history of a shared failure and that Brexit, despite being a legitimate decision by the British people, is a big defeat for the European dream based around values that are now regressing in a world of crisis (respect for human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, the Rule of Law and respect for human rights, including the rights of people that belong to minorities, notes art. 2 of the TEU).

This was a proposal with enormous deficiencies in its legal approach and politically unacceptable, in so far as it aimed to incorporated a territory into Spain without the will of the inhabitants of said territory.

In this complex and difficult process, it is crucial not to have winners and losers. The flight of the black swan does not necessarily need to be negative. In times of crisis, opportunity also arises. Spain, the United Kingdom and Gibraltar must look for a formula in the post-Brexit panorama that makes it possible to design a framework that helps to normalise cross-border relations, strengthen the zone, both north and south of the Fence, as a shared space for development and opportunities.

From the South of France, Notorious Pink is a special blush cuvee made from 100% Grenache grapes, of which mature berries are used to balance the flavours of ripe berries, giving the wine wonderful acidity and soft minerality.

At Domaine la Colombette, grapes from the oldest vines are bled while those from younger vines are pressed. Musts are then fermented at low temperatures and the wine matured on its lees until bottling.

The resulting wine is bright pink in colour with a floral attack on opening followed by citrus and juicy red fruit notes. It is not as dry as most French roses, but it is crisp, aromatic and finishes with a refreshing mineral character.

Improvements to lights and piping of the Guadiaro fair enclosure

Se están realizando en el Recinto Ferial de Guadiaro una serie de mejoras para fomentar su uso durante todo el año y no sólo durante la feria de la barriada, según detalló el COnsistorio. En la actualidad se está realizando la instalación de nuevas luminarias para obtener mayor eficiencia energética así como de canalizaciones de saneamiento, que se suman a las recientes obras de pavimentación a cargo del plan Profea y a la ya prevista adecuación de espacios deportivos.

Alumnos del Colegio Internacional de Sotogrande conocen Apoyo Mutuo Un grupo de más de 50 estudiantes del Colegio Internacional de Sotogrande pasaron una jornada en las instalaciones de la ONG Apoyo Mutuo San Roque para conocer “in situ” el trabajo que realiza este colectivo. Principalmente se dedican a ordenar ropa y zapatos que luego se distribuirán entre las familias más necesitadas.

La presidenta y fundadora de Apoyo Mutuo, Montse Gavilán, indicó que “esta visita surge a raíz de una charla que dimos en el colegio para explicar a los alumnos qué hacemos. La charla les gustó, y cuando terminó nos pidieron venir a echar un día de voluntariado. Accedimos, y creo que es un precedente para el resto de los colegios de San Roque”. “Vienen un poco como juego -añadió- pero también están comprometidos con lo que hacen y se dan cuenta de que todo el mundo no puede permitirse unos pantalones, unos zapatos... Llevan desde esta mañana ayudándonos y son un soplo de aire fresco en la asociación”, concluyó.

Valentina Stirling, coordinadora de la ONG que lideran los alumnos del Colegio Internacional de Sotogrande, explicó que “hemos creado un modelo de ong que nace y vive dentro del colegio. Permite colaborar con distintos socios a nivel local e internacional en todo lo referido a derechos humanos.

A nivel local colaboramos con Apoyo Mutuo y con Hogar Betania de La Línea, y a nivel internacional en Uganda, Marruecos y Ecuador”. “Este modelo -continuó- permite trabajar

con chicos de un estatus social alto, sensibilizarlos sobre las diferentes realidades que hay en el mundo y conseguir una juventud preocupada e involucrada. También tenemos una pata de emprendimiento social, de manera que aprenden habilidades de negocio enfocados a solucionar problemas sociales o medioambientales. Nuestra esperanza es que un futuro sean empresarios o profesionales conectados con el resto de la sociedad y no sólo volcados en su propio egoísmo”.

Pupils from Sotogrande International School discover Apoyo Mutuo A group of more than 50 students from Sotogrande International School spent a day at the facilities of the NGO Mutuo Apoyo (Mutual Support) San Roque in order to see in situ the work that this group carries out. They are mainly dedicated to organizing clothes and shoes that are then distributed to the families most in need.

The president and founder of Apoyo Mutuo, Montse Gavilán, indicated that “this visit arose out of a talk that we gave at the school in order to explain our work to pupils. They liked the talk, and when it ended they asked us to come and volunteer for a day. We agreed, and I think that this sets a precedent for the other schools in San Roque. They come a little for fun, but they are also committed with what they do and realize that not everyone can afford trousers, or shoes…They have been helping us since this morning and they are a breath of fresh air at the association”.

tor of the NGO led by pupils from Sotogrande International School, explained that “we have created an NGO model that was established in and exists in the school. It makes it possible to collaborate with different partners locally and internationally on everything relating to human rights. On a local level we are collaborating with Apoyo Mutuo and with Hogar Betania in La Línea, and internationally, in Uganda, Morocco and Ecuador”. She continued “This model makes it possible to work with children of a high social status, make them aware of the different social realities throughout the worlds and shape young people that are concerned and involved. We also have a social entrepreneurial element, so they learn business skills targeted at solving social and environmental problems.

Our hope is that in the future they will be business people or professionals connected with the rest of society, and not only concerned with their own ego”.

La muestra exhibe las diferentes salidas profesionales en la Comarca para estudiantes de grados medio y superior ✑ Manuel Gil

El I Salón del Estudiante de San Roque se llevó a cabon el Edificio Diego Salinas, junto al Consistorio. Una generosa y extensa muestra en la que estuvieron representadas la mayoría de salidas profesionales y grados de toda la Comarca una vez finalizados los estudios medios/superiors, incluidos los CC y FF de Seguridad del Estado.

Los visitantes encontraron una amplia oferta académica ofrecida “de primera mano” por las instituciones responsables de estudios universitarios, de ciclos formativos en una amplia

gama de familias profesionales, estudios de régimen especial, residencias escolares, cuerpos y fuerzas de seguridad del Estado.

Se dio a conocer también la oferta académica de la UCA, UNED, Institutos de Enseñanza Secundaria que ofertan ciclos formativos, Escuela Oficial de Idiomas, Escuela de Arte…

Esta actividad no sólo se destinó a los alumnos de ambos cursos de San Roque y el resto del Campo de Gibraltar, sino también a sus familias y a profesionales de la formación y la orientación.

En total se mostraron casi una

veintena de espacios expositivos, en el que participarán la Universidad de Cádiz (UCA); la Universidad a Distancia (UNED); el Centro de Magisterio Virgen de Europa; las Residencias escolares de la Consejería de Educación; el IES Mediterráneo; el Centro docente Virgen de la Palma; la Escuela Oficial de Idiomas de San Roque; o el Centro de Educación Permanente Albalate.

I Student Show: “I would like to be…”

The I Student Show of San Roque has opened its doors at the Diego Salinas building, next to the Council. This is a generous and extensive exhibition that represents the majority of career paths and degrees in all of the Province once middle-level/higher studies have finished, including State Security Bodies and Forces.

Visitors found an extensive academic range offered “first-hand” by the institutions responsible for university studies, training cycles across an extensive range of professional families, special study schemes, school residencies, State security bodies and forces. There was also information about the academic range of the UCA, UNED, Secondary Teaching Institutes that offer

training cycles, the Official Language School, the Art School…

This activity was not only aimed at pupils from both years in San Roque and the rest of Campo de Gibraltar, it is also targeted at their families and professionals from the training and guidance sectors.

It total, there were almost twenty exhibition spaces on display, with participation from the University of Cadiz (UCA); the Open University (UNED); the “Virgen de Europa” Teacher´s College; the School residences of the Department of Education; IES Mediterráneo; Virgen de la Palma Teaching Centre; the San Roque Official Language School; and the Albalate Centre for Continuing Education.

La Laguna de Torreguadiaro despierta el interés de los escolares ✑ Redacción

Alumnos del CEIP Maestro Apolinar realizaron una actividad de educación medioambiental coincidiendo con el Día Mundial del Agua. Los pequeños, acompañados por sus docentes y monitoras, conocieron la riqueza de la avifauna ligada al río Guadiaro y al litoral de la Zona Norte del municipio, también aprendieron coceptos sobre la importancia del ahorro de agua.

El responsable de Medio Ambiente, Juan Serván recordó que en estas visitas al entorno del Guadiaro “el objetivo es que tanto niños como mayores podamos disfrutar de la naturaleza y del entorno que hay en el municipio”. “Además del del estuario y la laguna de Torreguadiaro, tenemos otras actividades programadas en la Finca La Alcaidesa que

posiblemente empecemos la próxima semana, y más tarde en el Pinar del Rey”; la idea es seguir así hasta que llegue la temporada estival, donde traslademos las actividades del campo a la playa”, comentó.

Por su parte, la responsable de Educación, Belén Jiménez, indicó que “esta iniciativa

persigue educar en valores, mostrando ‘in situ’ la importancia que tiene preservar los espacios naturales, haciendo que los alumnos y alumnas conozcan su riqueza animal y vegetal y también los peligros a los que se enfrenta, la mayor parte debidos a la acción de los humanos”.

Mejoras en el acceso a la playa de Torrecarbonera 1 Manuel Gil

La Delegación de Obras y Servicios ejecutó el acondicionamiento y la limpieza de los caminos de acceso a la playa de Torrecarbonera o Alcaidesa-Faro, tanto con el desbroce de los márgenes de la misma, como con los arreglos de los caminos de tierra.

Desde el pasado año, gracias a un acuerdo con la empresa Alcaidesa, se pudo habilitar un nuevo acceso al carril que lleva a la playa, de manera que hay dos posibilidades para llegar a la misma y una para salir. En concreto, se está procediendo a

desbrozar el carril antiguo que llevaba a la batería de costa, ganando así en amplitud del

mismo y en seguridad para la circulación de vehículos.

El teniente de alcalde delega-

do de Playas y Obras y Servicios, José Antonio Rojas, señaló “gracias a la colabora-

ción de Alcaidesa, podemos realizar la entrada y salida a Torrecarbonera por sus viales públicos, por lo que al igual que el año pasado tenemos dos opciones para llegar a la playa: la de siempre, por el carril antiguo que nos llevaba a la batería de costas; y la nueva, por el interior de la urbanización”.

La playa de Torrecarbonera (o Alcaidesa-Faro) es una de las tres del litoral sanroqueño que el pasado año contó con una bandera azul, junto a Cala Sardina y Torreguadiaro.

making it safer for the movement of vehicles.

José Antonio Rojas, the delegate for Beaches and Works and Services, stated “thanks to the collaboration of Alcaidesa, we can create the entry to and exit from Torrecarbonera along its public roads, therefore just like

last year we have two options for getting to the beach: the traditional one, along the old track that leads to the coastal battery; and the new one, inside the resort”.

Torrecarbonera (or Alcaidesa-Faro) Beach is one of the three on the San Roque coastli-

ne that earned a Blue Flag distinction last year alongside Cala Sardina and Torreguadiaro.

2 El Club de Doma Clásica de Sotogrande, Dressage Sotogrande, inauguró la temporada de concursos 2017 con un evento muy especial, celebrado en las nuevas instalaciones en las que se encuentra instalado (Finca Mar de Naranjos); que congregó a casi un centenar de personas entre chicos y adultos, el I Clinic de Doma para Padres.

Sin duda se trata de una de las imágenes más reveladoras y que marcan el inicio de la campaña turística en Sotogrande, en este caso, en la playa de Torreguadiaro. El arranque de los montajes de los chiringuitos suponen la tradicional y clásica señal de que la temporada se encuentra en marcha y que se acerca el bueno tiempo, sol, calor, playa y disfrutar de algo rico a la orilla del mar. Concretamente, ya se encuentra a pleno rendimiento el montaje del Chiringuito Chambao, uno de los más reconocidos en la zona y que también atrae a usuarios de toda la Comarca y Costa del Sol. CEIP Gloria Fuertes Los Juegos Pre-deportivos, gran atractivo para los pequeños 1 Redacción

Los alumnos de varios centros del Valle del Guadiaro, y de otros puntos del resto del municipio, acudieron un año más a las pistas de Pueblo Nuevo de Guadiaro para participar en una nueva edición de los clásicos Juegos Pre-deportivos.

Evento en el que está la mano, a nivel de colaboración, del CEIP Gloria Fuertes, para colaborar con otros centras y establecer el calendario de actividades por jornadas y edades.

Carreras por relevos, juegos de pelota, carreras de saco, ‘matar’ y así hasta una extensa lista de juegos, con la actividad deportiva como centro del objetivo de la dinámica, animaron una jornada llena de buen ambiente y convivencia entre escolares de la zona.

La formación en el arte de la oratoria y del debate proporciona a los alumnos habilidades y destrezas útiles tanto para sus estudios actuales como para sus futuros estudios universitarios y desempeño profesional.

Consciente de esta importancia, el Colegio San José de Estepona y Marbella proporciona a sus estudiantes la oportunidad de desarrollar estas destrezas en las diferentes etapas educativas a través de actividades que se desarrollan en clase y fuera de ella.

No cabe duda que la regulación actual de las Sociedades Mercantiles, es especialmente exigente con los administradores y directivos de las mismas. El entorno en el que los Consejeros, administradores y directivos adoptan sus decisiones diarias es cada vez más complejo y dinámico.

El nuevo marco normativo endurece su responsabilidad civil (Ley de Sociedades de Capital) y penal (Ley Orgánica 1/2015 del Código Penal), pues establece una responsabilidad solidaria de todos los administradores que participen en la adopción de un acuerdo perjudicial para el patrimonio empresarial, de socios o de terceros. Y sin olvidarnos que penalizan por la mera omisión de medidas de vigilancia y la no implementación de programas de prevención y detección de riesgos laborales.

Ante esta situación surge la necesidad de proteger incluso el patrimonio de las personas que toman decisiones diariamente en cualquier empresa. Una solución ante esta nueva situación de estos órganos sociales es la de suscribir un seguro de Responsabilidad Civil para Administradores y Directivos (conocidos como “pólizas D & O”).

Se trata de un contrato por el que el asegurador se obliga a cubrir el riesgo del nacimiento a cargo del administrador o directivo de la obligación de indemnizar a un tercero los daños y perjuicios causados por un hecho relativo a su actuación como tal y de cuyas consecuencias es civilmente responsable. Es decir, es un seguro que cubre la responsabilidad Civil de Consejeros y directivos exonerando su patrimonio personal por reclamaciones de terceros derivadas de actos incorrectos en el ejercicio del cargo.

Recuerde que este tipo de seguros: • Protege el patrimonio personal de las personas físicas. No es un seguro para la empresa, aunque está sea el tomador habitual.

• Únicamente responde de per-

juicios financieros, no cubre daños corporales ni materiales.

Habitualmente garantizan los gastos de defensa (incluidas las costas procesales), de investigación, así como las indemnizaciones debidas como consecuencia de reclamaciones de terceros presentadas durante el periodo de vigencia del seguro. Igualmente, siempre y cuando la propia sociedad figure como asegurada, asumen como cobertura básica el reembolso a la sociedad de la indemnización que ésta hubiera abonado al directivo o administrador.

Civil Liability Insurance for administrators and directors There is no doubt that the current regulations Trading Companies are especially demanding with their administrators and directors. The environment in which Board Members, administrators and directors take their daily decisions is increasingly complex and dynamic. The new regulatory framework toughens up their civil (Law on Capital Companies) and penal liability (Organic Law 1/2015 of the Penal Code), as it establishes joint liability of all the administrators that participate in the adoption of an agreement that is damaging for the assets of the company, shareholder or third parties. Furthermore, they impose the assumption as intrin-

sic to unfulfilled social obligations for not bringing about the dissolution of a company in the due time as established by law, and punish via disqualification from the role and loss of creditor´s rights as a consequence of bankruptcy liability action. Faced with this new situation, a need arises to even protect the assets of the people that take decisions each day in any company.

A solution in this new situation of these company bodies is to

sign up for Civil Liability insurance for Administrators and Directors (known as “D&O policies”).

This is a contract through which the insurer is obliged to cover the emergence through the administrator or director of the obligation to compensate a third party for damage and losses caused by an event relating to their actions, whose consequences they are held civilly liable for. That is to say, insurance that covers the Civil liability of Board Members and Directors, exonerating their personal assets in claims by third parties resulting from incorrect acts when carrying out their role.

Remember that this type of in-

surance: • Protects the personal assets of individuals. Is not insurance for the company, although it usually takes out the policy.

• Only covers financial damage, it does not cover bodily or material damage.

It normally guarantees costs of defence (including the costs of proceedings), investigation, as well as compensation due as the result of claims from third parties lodged during the validity period of the insurance. Likewise, provided that the company itself is listed as insured, they assume basic coverage for a refund to the company of the compensation that it pays to the director or

i El equipo El Trébol se proclamó campeón de la XV edición del Memorial Conde de Guaqui, tras vencer a La Mangosta - Bayswater en una competida final en las canchas de Los Pinos, en el Santa María Polo.

El Trébol se impuso a La Mangosta por 11 a 9,5, en un partido que estuvo muy disputado desde el principio y que permitió contemplar algunos goles espectaculares.

En la lucha por el tercer puesto, el ganador fue Sapphire, que venció al equipo 96 con un margen amplio en el resultado de 9 a 3. Respecto a la competición disputada en la categoría de bajo hándicap, la victoria fue para Ambiorix. La jornada comenzó con la victoria de Biarritz sobre Iridike en primer lugar, y de Ambiorix sobre Iridike de nuevo en segundo lugar, ambos partidos con un estrecho resultado de 8 a 7. Ya en la final, Ambiorix superó a Biarritz por 10 a 7 proclamándose campeón.

El polo regresa a Sotogrande con su temporada de primavera de la mano de Santa María Polo Club.

Y lo hace con un mes de abril cargado de eventos y torneos de todos los estilos, incluidos los más tradicionales que se disputan durante la Semana Santa (habitual despegue del polo en la zona cada año).

Un intenso y atractivo mes de abril que trae a Sotogrande nada menos que polo todos los fines de semana con la disputa de hasta cinco torneos en prácticamente una hoja del calendario. Competiciones que mezclan torneos de Bajo y Mediano Handicap, categoría está última que se ha convertido en una de las grandes apuesta del club en los últimos tiempo por llevar a lo más alto en cuanto a competitividad.

La acción arrancó con el XV Memorial Conde de Guaqui de Nivel

Mediano, fecha en la que también comenzó el Torneo de Semana Santa de Bajo Handicap que se alargará durante tres fines de semana hasta el 16 de abril. Durante la Semana Mayor, de manera conjunta, el Mediano Handicap animará el periplo vacacional con el tradicional Memoria José Ignacio Domecq en su XXXVIII edición.

La semana siguiente, del 21 al 23 de abril, llega el International Day y remata un intenso abril polístico la II Copa Puente de Hierro, de Bajo Handicap, del 28 al 30. En definitiva, el polo toma el protagonismo en Sotogrande este mes de abril.

Sotogrande volverá a ser sede, por tercer año consecutivo, del Campeonato de España de Polo Femenino, más concretamente las canchas de polo de Santa María Polo Club que también participará en la organización del evento. Concretamente el fin de semana del 21, 22 y 23 de julio es la fecha escogida para la competición y como ya pasó el pasado año supondrá la antesala y aperitivo de lujo sólo unas horas antes del inicio del Torneo Internacional de Polo de Santa María.

En los últimos años, el polo femenino ha ido creciendo y encontrando acomodo en Sotogrande como uno de sus

destinos predilectos. En los últimos años el nivel y la repercusión de este evento en la zona se ha multiplicado, con presencia de nombres propios como el de Lía Salvo en sus diferentes ediciones, considerada la mejor polista del mundo.

Salvo, incluso, llegó a disputar algún torneo la pasada temporada con La Dolfina de Adolfo Cambiaso, una de las organizaciones de polo más importantes del mundo.

El espectáculo del polo femenino vuelve a estar anunciado en Sotogrande un año más y sin duda será uno de los eventos que más animen el verano en la zona.

Polo returns to Sotogrande for the spring season alongside Santa María Polo Club. And it does so in an April filled with events and all kinds of tournaments, including the most traditional ones which will take place during Holy Week (the traditional take-off for polo in the area each year).

An intense and appealing April will have polo no less than every weekend with the celebration of five tournaments practically spread over one calendar month. The competitions mix Low and Medium Handicap tournaments, the latter has become one of the great commitments by the club lately as it takes competitiveness to the maximum limits.

The action got underway with the 15th Medium Level Conde de Guaqui Memorial Tournament, on the date that the Holy Week Low Handicap Tournament also started, the latter will go on for three weekends until 16th April. During Easter Week,

El Trébol team was crowned champion of the 15th edition of the Conde de Guaqui Memorial Tournament, after beating La Mangosta - Bayswater in a competitive final at the Los Pinos pitches, at Santa María Polo Club. El Trébol beat La Mangosta 11-9.5 in a game that was very closely fought from the outset, and one that provided some spectacular goals.

In the battle for third place, the winner was Sapphire, who beat team 96 by a large margin with a result of 9-3. With regard to the competition held in the low handicap category, victory went to Ambriorix. El 8 de abril arrancó la quinta edición del Desafío Fundación Seve Ballesteros, un circuito compuesto por veinticinco pruebas benéficas que se disputarán de abril a octubre compitiendo por parejas, , cuya recaudación irá destinada a financiar proyectos de investigación oncológica. La pareja ganadora de la final tomará parte en el ProAm de la EurAsia Cup 2018, en Malasia. Entre los escenarios elegidos se encuentra el Real Club de Golf Sotogrande, trazado que acogerá el Desafío el

Todas las pruebas se disputarán bajo la modalidad “Greensome Stroke Play” por parejas, debiendo ser uno de los componentes mayor de edad, con hándicap limitado a 24 para caballeros y 32 para señoras. The first event of the 2017 Seve Ballesteros Foundation Challenge took place at the Barcelona

Club de Golf Sant Cugat, where Seve played his first Spanish Championship in 1974, and it will conclude on 28 October with the final at Real Golf de Pedreña. In between, the Challenge will visit the Autonomous Community of Valencia, Andalusia, Castilla and León, Galicia, Murcia, Castilla-La

Buenas Jordi, lo primero de todo, ¿cómo estás?

Muy bien, gracias. Entrenando duro, haciendo una pretemporada fuerte, con cambios, y esperando que el 2017 sea un gran año. ¿Supuso el Gecko Tour y Sotogrande un punto de inflexión en tu trayectoria?

Sí, me ha ayudado a coger confianza en estos últimos años; es un circuito pequeño [Gecko] pero está creciendo. Llegué a Sotogrande hace 3 años después de una temporada difícil en el Challange y European Tour para hacer un Master en Dirección y Gestión de Campos de Golf. La verdad es que fue una bonita experiencia y me permitirá abrir nuevos horizontes y estar preparado para tener futuro ligado al golf porque nunca se sabe qué va a pasar. Aunque mi objetivo es volver al Circuito Europeo, estar ahí y vivirlo no tiene precio. ¿Te estás preparando de un manera especial?

Si, rotundamente. Vine a hacer el curso, en 2014, y me quedé. Desde el primer día me han tratado genial. En La Reserva me abrieron las puertas como si fuera mi casa; en Real Club de Golf Sotogrande también, además es dónde suelo entrenar, y por supuesto en Valderrama, dónde hice las prácticas del Master. Cada vez que voy a Valderrama a jugar con los socios o con otros jugadores del Circuito me tratan de una forma exquisita. Fíjate que tres campos, para un profesional es un lujo. ¿Cómo ves la zona?

Para mí, Sotogrande no es primera división, es la Champions League del Golf. Es la élite. Claro

Se presume un cartel con grandes nombres..

Los de la tarjeta vendrán todos, también gente que estará peleando para las Series Finales y si tenemos la suerte de que nombres como Rory, Kaimer, Sergio o Jon Rahm también vengan, disfrutaremos mucho. Si el torneo es en Valderrama y con una buena bolsa, vendrá grandes jugadores.

que hay campos muy buenos en toda Europa pero las condiciones que jugamos durante tantos días, es muy difícil. Los campos están perfectos todo el año. Me preguntan compañeros “¿dónde entrenas?” y cuando les explico, por ejemplo los tres campos que hemos citado, casi no se lo creen.

Sin ir más lejos, los greenes que vemos aquí, mínimo son como los del Circuito Europeo.

¿Has tenido ocasión de jugar en Valderrama tras la remodelación?

Sí y hace muy poco. Los nueve primeros hoyos me han encantado. El hoyo 6, la obra del Green, es magnífica por ponerte un ejemplo pero todo está perfecto. ¿Se espera un gran torneo del Andalucía Valderrama Masters?

Por último, ¿cómo te ves?

Estoy en una época de cambios, pasando ese tramo de lograr hacer natural un swing y es complicado pero estoy convencido de que me va a portar muchísimo. Si con lo de antes llegué dos años al Circuito, con esto debo ir a más. Aunque es cierto que el nivel ha subido, cada año la gente joven llega más preparada y tienes que esforzarte más. También se han reducido el número de tarjetas pero con los cambios espero obtener la regularidad y consistencia es lo que persigo.

Very good, thanks. I am training hard, having a strong pre-season, with changes, and hoping that 2017 will be a great year.

Was the Gecko Tour and Sotogrande a turning point in your career?

Yes, it helped me to gain confidence over the last few years: it is a small circuit (Gecko) but it is growing. I arrived in Sotogrande 3 years ago after a difficult season on the Challenge and European Tour in order to do a Masters in the Direction and Management of Golf Courses. The truth is that it was a nice experience that is going to allow me to open up new horizons and be prepared to have a future connected to golf because you never know what will happen. However, my aim is to return to the European Circuit, being there and experiencing it is priceless.

Are you preparing in a special way?

I am working with José Carlos Gutiérrez, a Seville coach who trains a lot of great Spanish golfers, and following lots of analysis we decided to change things in terms of my swing. We have given it a few tweaks in order to make the step up I am looking for and consolidate my place on the European Tour. This year I am competing less as I don´t have a card, which is negative but I am taking advantage of the positive side: I have more time to practice.

Changing a motion is not easy, it takes time. It about making an artificial movement nature, that takes time and practice.

Sotogrande is your second home...

Yes, absolutely. I came to do the course in 2014 and I stayed.

I have been treated brilliantly from the first day. At La Reserva they opened the doors to me as

if it was my home; at Real Club de Golf Sotogrande too, also it is where I normally train, and of course at Valderrama, where I did work experience for the Master. Every time I go to Valderrama to play with members or other players from the Circuit, they treat me brilliantly. Look, what three courses, that is a luxury for a professional.

at least as good as those on the European Circuit.

How do you see the area?

For me, Sotogrande is not the the first division, it is the Champions League of Golf. It is the elite. Of course there are very good courses throughout Europe but the conditions we play in for so many days, that is difficult to find. The courses are perfect throughout the year. Colleagues ask me “where do you train?” and when I tell them, for example, the three courses that we have mentioned, they almost cannot believe it.

Do you expect a great tournament at the Andalusia Valderrama Masters?

It looks really good and it is going to get better in the following years. I would love to see the best players facing one another at Valderrama and demanding the best from each other. It really helps to see how they face situations and those difficulties.

Have you had the chance to play at Valderrama after the remodelling?

Yes, a very short time ago. I loved the nine first holes. To give an example, the green work on hole 6 is magnificent, but everything is perfect.

A line-up with a big name is expected...

I a going through a period of changes, going through that period of making a swing natural and it is difficult but I am convinced that it is going to contribute a lot to my play. If I made it onto the Circuit for two years previously, then with this I should go further. However, it is true that the level has gone up. Every year the young players arrive better prepared and you have to make more effort. The number of cards has also been reduced but with the changes I hope to obtain regularity and consistency, that is what I am going for.

Las joyas del golf europeo de la próxima década se lucen en Sotogrande. Exitosa nueva edición la de la Copa de las Naciones del Real Club de Golf Sotogrande que logra reunir a los más granado de la cantera continental del golf, de más de 16 países de procedencia, durante cuatro emocionantes jornadas de competición en el emblemático y remodelado club sotograndino.

Sin duda, una edición muy especial con la vuelta a casa de la

Copa Sotogrande tras dos años en los que la competición se disputó en el vecino y magnífico recorrido de La Reserva de Sotogrande a causa de la remodelación efectuada en los últimos dos ejercicios por el Club de Golf Sotogrande.

Este año no hubo suerte para los españoles respecto a los premios. Los chicos (Ángel Hidalgo, Javier Sainz, Adriá Arnaus y Víctor Pastor) se quedaron en la tercera plaza del cuadro mascu-

lino; algo peor les fue a las chicas (Elena Arias, Paula Neira y Teresa Díez) que finalizaron en sexta posición. Aunque las sensaciones magníficas y certeras de que hay mimbres de un gran equipo en ambas categorías para próximas ediciones.

En cuanto a los ganadores, el cuadro masculino se lo llevó el cuarteto de Gales (David Boote, Jack Davidson, Owen Edwards y Joshua Davies), el subcampeonato fue para Irlanda. Ade-

más, Galés repitió galardonado y Jack Davidson se enfundó la tradicional chaqueta amarilla como ganador individual de la prueba, seguido por Robin Dawson (Irlanda).

Respecto a las chicas, las holandesas (Romy Meekers, Zhen Bontan y Roos Haarman) se llevaron la victoria seguidas de las danesas. La francesa Chloé Salort se llevó el premio individual seguida de Puk Lyng Thomsen (Dinamarca).

It was a successful new editions of the Nations Cup at Real Club de Golf Sotogrande which managed to bring together the finest up and coming European golf players, from more than four countries, during four exciting days of competition at the emblematic and remodelled club in Sotogrande.

Undoubtedly, this is a very

special edition with the return home of Sotogrande Cup after two years when the competition was played in the neighbouring and magnificent La Reserva de Sotogrande course, due to the remodelling carried out over the last two years by Club de Golf Sotogrande.

This year, there was no luck for the Spaniards in relation to the prizes. The boys (Ángel Hidalgo, Javier Sainz, Adriá Arnaus and Víctor Pastor) finished in

third place in the men´s tournament; things went a little worse for the girls (Elena Arias, Paula Neira and Teresa Díez) who finished in sixth. However, there are magnificent and true sensations that there are strands of a great team in both categories for future editions.

Destacar el ventajoso e increíble precio en el que está fijada la prueba en La Reserva (135 euros). Un precio que incluye greenfee, buggy, aperitivo a mitad de recorrido, cóctel tras la prueba y entrega de premios y sorteo y entrega de regalos a los participantes. Algo extraordinario, teniendo en cuanta que sólo greenfee y buggy podría costar el doble del precio en condiciones normales.

La salida, el 21 de mayo, será al tiro a las 9:00 horas. Y como siempre, como antes se mencionaba y ya es sello y marca de

la casa en el Circuito; la prueba contará con todo el apoyo y coordinación de la una detallada organización, presencia en los medios, sorteo de regalos para los participantes, picoteo a mitad del recorrido, exquisito cóctel, degustación de bebida de primeras marcas y muchas sorpresas más que no se van a desvelar tan pronto.

Sotogrande, hábitat natural de los RC44 La prestigiosa regata internacional regresa un año más a la zona para disputar la cita inaugural de esta temporada.

Un nuevo formato impulsa mayor competitividad; la cita se celebra en la Marina de Sotogrande: del 27 al 30 de abril Sotogrande se convierte esta temporada en la sede inaugura la temporada de regatas de alto nivel de la espectacular y reconocida clase RC44, que recalará en la marina sotograndina del 27 al 30 de abril. Todo un espectáculo ‘volando’ sobre el mar, con los considerados ‘Formula-1’ de la vela.

La prestigiosa clase internacional RC44 renueva su confianza tras el éxito y la excelente organización del Campeonato del Mundo de la clase RC44 celebrado en 2016. Con ésta, será la tercera ocasión que esta regata internacional desembarque en Sotogrande. Supondrá ka primera de las pruebas de su circuito internacional, prueba inaugural de su calendario de regatas que esta temporada recalará en España, Italia, Suecia y Portugal.

Sotogrande será el punto de partida del calendario de regatas de clase 2017 y al que seguirán las pruebas de Porto Cervo (Italia), Marstrand (Suecia), Cascais (Portugal) y Lanzarote (España).

Se lo merecía y, por fin, lo logró.

Sergio García ganó el Masters de Augusta. Dieciocho años después de José Mari Olazábal, un español volvía a vestir la codiciada chaqueta verde. Una victoria soñada que tuvo lugar, justo, el día que Severiano Ballesteros debería haber cumplido 60 años. El propio Sergio García le dedicó el triunfo con la mirada y sus manos señalando el cielo.

Sergio García luchó hasta el final en una épica batalla que ya forma parte de la historia del golf. Su contrincante; otro gigante: Justin Rose.

El episodio fue titánico. Los primeros nueve hoyos del español fueron de libro: birdies al 1 y al 3 en los que supo aprovechar

sus opciones tirando de su solidez con el putt, una constante a lo largo de la semana. A partir de ahí, seis pares.

Los problemas llegaron en la segunda vuelta, con los bogeys al 10 y al 11, pero el español mantuvo la calma.

Un gran birdie al 14 y un eagle al 15 volvían a dejar a García en la punta de lanza. Rose, con birdie al 16 y bogey al 17, se mostraba muy fuerte, cualquier cosa

podía pasar en el 18, cuyo tee pisaron ambos en tablas.

Los jugadores del Club de Golf La Cañada, José López Moncayo y Mar García, se proclamaron campeones con un total acumulado de 101 y 104 golpes, respectivamente. ¡Fantástica noticia para el golf local!

José López finalizaba la primera jornada empatado en primera posición con Nacho Jiménez (Benalmádena Golf) y Juan Soler (Real Club de

Golf El Candado), tras firmar los tres 52 golpes. Durante la segunda ronda, entregó 49 golpes que –para 101 al totalle valían la victoria. Tras él, el segundo puesto, con 103 golpes, fue para el federado por el Club de Campo La Zagaleta, Jacobo Cestino.

Entre las participantes femeninas, Mar García Jiménez dominó la competición desde la primera jornada, con 51 golpes que la situaban como líder en solitario. Una segunda tarjeta de 53 impactos, la proclamó campeona con un golpe de ventaja sobre la federada por El Paraíso Club de Golf, María Contreras.

The 4th Kayak Descent of the Guadiaro River, will take place on Sunday 30 April. The departure is planned for 9 in the morning at the El Secadero fair enclosure (Casares) and the arrival will be in the area around the mouth of the Guadiaro River, in Sotogrande Port. The activity is organized by the company Andalusia Activities with the collaboration of Sotogrande Port and the Council of San Roque. La Cañada Golf holds its “Ryder Cup” The Nations Cup, an innovative tournament in Match Play format, with eight teams of different nationalities, each with 12 players, is taking place on 17, 19 and 20 April at the municipal course La Cañada Municipal Golf Club is hosting an innovative tournament on 17, 19 and 20 April, nicknamed the La Cañada Nations Cup, its particular version of the Ryder Cup. This is an innovative tournament which in its first edition is

trying to bring together a total of 8 teams of different nationalities, comprised of 12 players who will compete over three days in order to compete victory under the Match Play Format.

Specifically, there will three par-

ticipating teams from Spain, two from Sweden, two formed by players from the United Kingdom and Ireland, and one that encompasses the remaining nationalities of the participating golfers.

The aim is that four players from

each play will play the Foursomes Match Play, another four will compete in the Fourball Match Play and another four will play the individual Match Play games.

Each team will have a captain and assistants in order to prepare and

design the most beneficial strategies for helping their team to attain victory in the end.
