La conservación del litoral, prioridad de futuro El proyecto para la instauración de un fondeadero de buques frente a las costas sanroqueñas abre el debate en entidades públicas y privadas por sus consecuencias para el modelo económico local en el que turismo y el sector servicios son protagonistas. Se pone en marcha un ciclo de conferencias informativas para dar a conocer los detalles de este plan promovido desde la Autoridad Portuaria Bahía de Algeciras y que podría afectar al equilibrio natural que actualmente se establece en Sotogrande y todo el litoral entre los espacios naturales y la actividad turística.

Coastal conservation, a future priority The project to implement an anchorage site for ships on the San Roque coastline has opened a debate among public and private entities due to its consequences for the local economic model where tourism and the service sector play a leading role. A series of information talks has been launched in order to reveal the details of the plan backed by the Port Authority of the Bay of Algeciras, which could affect the natural balance now established in Sotogrande and along the entire coastline between natural spaces and tourism activity.

Lo que marcha de 2017 lo llevamos, afortunadamente, repleto de anuncios y avances en todas las ediciones del periódico sobre grandes acontecimientos y eventos previstos y que están desarrollándose en todo el área de Sotogrande y el Valle del Guadiaro. El contexto y la situación general que se respira en la atmósfera local, muy animada y motivada con todos esos argumentos, invitan a pensar que 2017 pasará por la zona con un balance muy positivo y así se espera también desde los diferentes sectores económicos. En las páginas de esta edición contamos con un informe a gran escala de la situación actual que atraviesa el sector del mercado inmobiliario, la actividad de sus agentes y las previsiones de futuro. Pues, en conclusión, probablemente estemos atravesando uno de

los climas más propensos de la última década para un despegue sin igual en este mercado; uno de los pilares de la zona. Y en buena parte, además de todos los aspectos macroeconómicos que influyen (clima político, estabilidad de los mercados, valor de la moneda, etc.), todo ello va motivado por un mayor interés en Sotogrande y una difusión de más calado a nivel nacional e internacional a consecuencia de todos estos grandes eventos de enorme repercusión (venidos y por venir). La pasada RC44 Sotogrande Cup, el inminente Grand Prix Sotogrande (este evento en Bélgica atrae cerca de 200.000 personas; algo que proporcionalmente es impensable en Sotogrande pero que sirve como referencia para entender la dimensión y gran calidad

de la cita); el Torneo Internacional de Polo de verano que llega además este año con el Sunset Valley Festival y sus conciertos, toda la actividad del verano (torneos de golf, regatas, playa, chiringuitos, clubes,…) y encima, después de toda la tormenta de la temporada estival: la guinda. En octubre llega el Andalucía Valderrama Masters, lo que supondrá el regreso a largo plazo de una competición golfística de primerísimo nivel en Sotogrande, concretamente en el mítico Real Club Valderrama. En definitiva, el año pinta bien y se está poniendo mejor. Es momento de rentabilizar, con cabeza, y crecer económicamente para pensar a lo grande. Siempre y cuando no nos pongan una procesión de buques frente a la costa. En ello estamos.

So far in 2017, we have fortunately had a year ﬁlled with news and advances in all of the editions of the newspaper about big events and developments that are taking place throughout Sotogrande and Valle del Guadiaro. The context and the general feel in the local atmosphere is one of liveliness and motivation with all of these announcements, and there is every reason to think that the assessment of 2017 in the area will be very positive, and also for the diﬀerent economic sectors. In the pages of this edition we have a large-scale report about the situation that the property market is sector is currently in, the activity of its agents and prospects for the future. In conclusion, we are probably going through one of

the most favourable periods of the last decade for an unparalleled boom in this market; one of the pillars in the area. To a large extent, in addition to all the macroeconomic aspects that have an inﬂuence (political climate, stability of the markets, value of currency, etc.), all of this is due to greater interest in Sotogrande and greater dissemination on a national and international level as a result of all these big events with an enormous impact (both past and future). In short, the year is looking good and getting even better. This is the time to make it proﬁtable, in a sensible manner, and grow economically in order to think big. Fondeadero de buques: el ‘nuevo atractivo turístico’ Toda la comunidad que compone a ‘grosso’ modo Sotogrande, empezando por las entidades, empresas y clubes de carácter privado, pasando por residentes, visitantes y administraciones públicas, llevan años trabajando (con mayor o menor consenso en diferentes situaciones) en una misma dirección: convertir este destino en 1 José Luis García el mayor resort de Europa Editor/Director con una calidad, estilo de jlgarcia@grupohcp.com vida y servicios de excelencia. En muchas ocasiones funcionando de la mano y en otras (no pocas) cada uno por su cuenta, pero al fin y al cabo, las diferentes acciones y estrategias llevadas a la práctica han nacido desde un objetivo común a los intereses de todos: el desarrollo, progreso y crecimiento de Sotogrande. Hacer de este privilegiado rincón un lugar

idílico para la vida residencial y turística. Se ha apostado por un conseguir instaurar un modelo económico sostenible en el que el turismo de alta calidad y el deporte llevado a un gran nivel con repercusión internacional (en la zona conviven varias entidades de reconocimiento mundial con unas infraestructuras y logísticas de primer orden), provoquen un desarrollo de la economía local en todos sus sectores (principalmente vinculados al servicio). Con todas esas cartas sobre la mesa, se otea desde el horizonte (esperemos que analogía no se traduzca en una realidad), un plan en exposición pública promovido por la Autoridad Portuaria Bahía de Algeciras (APBA), en el que se instalaría en el caso de ser aprobado y continuar con los trámites pertinentes, un fondeadero de buques frente a las costas del litoral sanroqueño (prácticamente desde la zona de Alcaidesa hasta Cala Sardina), en el que las diferentes embarcaciones (buques de enormes dimensiones), esperarían turno, por llamarlo así, para acceder a la Bahía de Algeciras y llevar a cabo la actividad que hayan venido a desempeñar. Bien ésta podría ser de carácter de transporte de mercancías (contenedores), hidrocarburos o suministros y repostajes. En cualquiera de los casos, la sola idea de que un plan de esa índole pueda tener cabida frente a nuestras queridas y disfrutadas playas (sin duda, uno de los grandes reclamos y valores principales de este destino), rompería por completo el equilibrio turístico-medioambiental

que hace de Sotogrande un lugar privilegiado en todo el continente. Atentaría contra ese modelo económico del que disfrutamos en la actualidad, con un turismo de primer orden y unas instalaciones de excelencia y amenazaría gravemente con la esencia y la imagen que se tiene de Sotogrande. Por no mencionar todas las contraindicaciones hacia el ecosistema en el que está ubicada la urbanización. Es por ello que este medio se pone en primera línea para reivindicar cualquier intento por plasmar en realidad lo que hoy es un ambicioso plan para la industria portuaria. Desde el Consistorio se está llevando a cabo una campaña divulgativa de información al respecto, a la que se suma este periódico, y cara a próximas acciones (movilizaciones ciudadanas, protestas, etc.), brindamos esta cabecera para prestar tan importante servicio de promoción y difusión del mensaje para la comunidad local. Sin duda, otra situación en la que se precisa que todos los colectivos (públicos y privados) vayan de la mano para evitar ese fatal desenlace para los intereses y el futuro de Sotogrande. Ha sido muy dura la travesía por el largo periodo de crisis económica que hemos soportado para que ahora que estamos en periodo ascendente vengan a colocarnos una batería de grandes buques para promocionar el “nuevo modelo turístico”. ¡Basta ya de temas tan absurdos! Os recuerdo que podéis contarme cualquier tema de interés, bien de forma directa o a través de @JLGarciaSG.

Anchorage site for ships: the “new tourism attraction” The entire community that comprises Sotogrande as a whole, beginning with the entities, companies and private clubs, to residents, visitors, and public administrations, have spend years working (with more or less of a consensus in different situations) in the same direction: to make this destination the best resort in Europe with excellent quality, lifestyle and serivces. On many occassions they have worked alongside one another and at other times (a lot) each has worked for themselves, but ultimately, the different actions and strategies carried out have been borne out of the shared interests of everyone: the development, progress and growth of Sotogrande. Making this privileged area an idyllic place for residential and tourist life. A commitment has been made to imposing a sustainable economic model where high-quality tourism and sport with a high level of international repercussion (in the area there are several world renowned entities with top level infrastructures and logistics), lead to a development of the local economy across all sectors (mainly linked to service). With all these cards on the table, on the horizon we have (let´s

hope this does not become a reality), a public plan backed by the Port Authority of the Bay of Algeciras (APBA), which if approved would install and continue with the relevant steps, an anchorage sit for ships on the coastline of San Roque (practically from the Alcaidesa area to Cala Sardina) where the different vessels (enormous ships) would queue, to use one term for it, in order to access the Bay of Algeciras and carry out the activity that they have come to implement. This could in relation to transporting goods (containers), hydrocarbons or supplies and refuelling. In any case, the mere idea that that a plan of this character could be put in place opposite our beloved and enjoyable beaches (undoubtedly one of the big attracts and main assets of this destination), would completely break the tourism-environmental balance that makes Sotogrande a uniquely privileged place on the whole content. This would be an attack against the economic model that we currently enjoy, with top level tourism and excellent facilities, and it would be a serious threat to the essence and image of

Sotogrande. Not to mention the damage to the ecosystem that the resort is located in. That is why this newspaper is putting itself on the frontline to stop what is currently an ambitious plan for the port industry from becoming a reality. The Council is carrying out a campaign to disseminate information about this matter, and this newspaper is getting involved, and ahead of future actions (civil mobilizations, protests, etc.), we are offering this publication to provide the important service of promoting and disseminating the message to the local community. Undoubtedlt, this is another situation where we need all groups (public and private) to work alongside one another to prevent a disastrous outcome for the interests and future of Sotogrande. We have come through a tough period of a long economic crisis and now that we are in a period of upward growth, they plan to stick a fleet of large ships on our coastline in order to promote the “new tourism model”. La entrada del municipio por la zona de Torreguadiaro se encuentra pendiente una actuación desde 2013, concretamente de un convenio para urbanizar la vía de servicio de Montilla. En esta zona se encuentra la gasolinera, una frutería, un hostal, y otros comercios, “para los que queremos una reurbanización y reordenación que mejore la estética y preste más servicios y seguridad, y permita el desarrollo de nuevos proyectos, como el de Los Pinos”, indicó el alcalde sanroqueño Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix que visitó el lugar en compañía de técnicos municipales y responsables de Carreteras

Adelantó el alcalde que “tenemos unos fondos de casi medio millón de euros para actuar en esa zona tratando de mejorar la seguridad, la estética y permita desarrollo otros proyectos como el de Los Pinos”. A raiz de la reunión, el primer edil confía en que “vamos a contar de forma inmediata con el informe de Demarcación de Carreteras” En abril de 2013, Ayuntamiento y Cepsa Comercial Petróleo suscribieron un convenio para acometer diversas obras en el entorno de la gasolinera de Montilla (Torreguadiaro), de manera que se transformarán en vías urbanas

las actuales calzadas secundarias de la autovía. El presupuesto supera el medio millón de euros y el plazo de ejecución se ﬁja en seis meses una vez obtenidos los permisos pertinentes. En virtud del convenio, Cepsa Comercial Petróleo acometerá las obras de ordenación de las calzadas secundarias de la A7 a lo largo de unos 300 metros, lo que supondrá su transformación en vías urbanas distribuidoras del tráﬁco local. Se dotarán de calzada y aceras y se ejecutará una nueva barrera de separación entre las mismas y el vial principal. También se mejorarán las instalacio-

nes y redes de servicio y se ejecutará una nueva red de alumbrado en la totalidad del tramo. Cepsa Comercial Petróleo se encargará también del mantenimiento de los nuevos viales. Por su parte, el Ayuntamiento tenía que solicitar a la Demarcación de Carreteras, dependiente del Ministerio de Fomento, la cesión de dichos viales. Además, entre sus cometidos está agilizar en lo posible la concesión u obtención de las correspondientes licencias y autorizaciones administrativas necesarias para la remodelación de la estación de servicio Montilla.

As a result of the agreement, Cepsa Comercial Petróleo will carry out development work on the secondary roads of the A7 along a 300-metre stretch, which will transform them into urban roads for distributing local traﬃc. They will be ﬁtted with paving and footpaths and a new separation barrier will be put in place between them and the main road. Facilities

and service networks will also be improved and a new lighting network will be provided for the entire stretch. Cepsa Comercial Petróleo will also take charge of maintaining the new roads. In turn, the Council has to request the assignment of those roads from Roads Demarcation department, which is part of the Ministry of Development. Its tasks also include speeding up, as far as possible, the awarding or obtaining of the corresponding administrative licences and authorisations needed for remodelling the Montilla service station.

Algunos de los mejores coches clásicos y GT de Europa se mostrarán durante el ﬁn de semana en La Marina de Sotogrande. Los restaurantes y bares locales de La Marina darán la bienvenida a los visitantes, invitados y participantes durante una maravillosa celebración de la historia del automóvil. Una propuesta que permitió dar a conocer su innovadora apuesta de polo por primera vez en la feria, que este año ha cumplido su vigésimo cuarta edición. Aumenta así el número de clientes potenciales procedentes de Arabia Saudí y de los Emiratos.

The Arabian Travel Market brings together 2800 exhibitors from 68 participating countries. The Andalusia stand was at the Turespaña stand, offering 11851 5-star tourism spots. Samuel Beckett, el premio Nobel de Literatura, fue un irlandés que tenía el francés como segunda lengua, y que publicó originalmente en ese idioma su obra más famosa: En attendat Godot (Esperando a Godot). Emmanuel Macron, al revés que Godot, finalmente ha venido, con lo que cabe plantear la incógnita sobre qué consecuencias tendrá para Francia y Europa su entrada en el Palacio del Elíseo. Aunque un suspiro de alivio recorrió Europa el 7 de mayo, no sería prudente olvidar que la abstención y los votos nulos y en blanco han alcanzado en Francia un nivel récord, y que el resultado de Marine Le Pen ha sido muy notable, con lo que nada indica que el populismo haya ingresado en una fase menguante, como sí parece haberlo hecho en América Latina. En la fortaleza de Le Pen se observó una antigua coincidencia entre los

extremos, y la candidata ultranacionalista se benefició de los votos de una izquierda que no quiso apostar claramente por Macron. En España lo vimos reflejado en el ridículo que hicieron los políticos de Podemos, incapaces de decidirse entre ambos contendientes. Una vez victorioso, y excluido el cataclismo populista inminente, ¿qué podemos esperar del nuevo presidente galo? A escala europea: un apoyo al proyecto político y al euro. Y en el plano nacional, una difícil estrategia de reducir el gigantesco sector público francés y abrir su muy intervenida economía. Ahora bien, las tendencias antieuropeístas siguen fuertes en la Unión y, a pesar de lo que podría parecer, también en Francia. Francesco Ronchi, profesor de Ciencias Políticas en el Institut d’Études Politiques de París, escribió en el Wall Street Journal que la mayoría de los franceses creen que

la globalización es una amenaza, mientras que el respaldo a la Unión Europea se ha derrumbado en los últimos años. Este profesor destaca que en la primera ronda de estas elecciones, los votos obtenidos por Le Pen, el izquierdista Mélenchon, el nacionalista Dupont-Aignan y otros candidatos anticapitalistas “fueron de casi el 50 %, la más impresionante exhibición de poder de los extremistas políticos en la historia de la Quinta República”. Macron está lejos de ser un político liberal sin matices, y no está claro que pueda realizar sus reformas en un contexto nacional tan hostil a la libertad. Al final, puede ser que, ante la posibilidad de que se apliquen esas reformas, Macron repita lo que les repite el muchacho a los dos vagabundos en la obra de Beckett: “Godot no vendrá hoy, pero mañana seguro que sí”.

Although there was a sigh of relief throughout Europe on 7 May, it would be unwise to forget that abstentions and void or blank votes attained record levels in France, and that the result of Marine Le Pen was very significant, thus nothing indicates that populism has entered a phase of decline, as it does indeed seem to have done in Latin America. In the strength of Le Pen´s campaign we witnessed an old coincidence between the extremes, and the ultranationalist candidate benefited from the votes of a left that did not want to clearly commit to Macron. In Spain, we saw this reflected in the ridiculous behaviour of the Podemos politicians, who were unable to decide between both candidates. Once victorious, and having ruled out the imminent populist upheaval, what can we expect from the new French president? On a European level: support for the political project and the Euro. And on a national level, a difficult

strategy for reducing the gigantic French public sector and opening up its economy that is subject to lots of intervention. However, anti-European tendencies remain strong in the Union, and in France too, despite how things may appear. Francesco Ronchi, professor at the Institut d’Études Politiques in Paris, wrote in the Wall Street Journal that the majority of French people believe that globalisation is a threat, while support for the European Union has collapsed over the last few years. This professor highlights the fact that in the first round of these elections, the votes obtained by Le Pen, the left-wing politician Mélenchon, the nationalist Dupont-Aignan and other anti-capitalist candidates “obtained almost 50% of votes, the most impressive exhibition of power of extremist politicians in the history of the Fifth Republic”. Macron is far from being an unreservedly liberal politician, and it is not clear if he can carry out his reforms within a national context that is so hostile to liberty. Ultimately, it may be that faced with the possibility of applying these reforms, Macron will repeat what the boy tells the two vagabonds in Beckett´s work: “Godot will not come today, but he will surely come tomorrow”.

Informe El sector inmobiliario apuesta por un año de crecimiento en Sotogrande • • • •

Los agentes abogan por unos datos mejores que el pasado 2016 y un clima más proactivo. El volumen de ventas mantiene la inercia ascendente aunque el ritmo de operaciones no es fluido y constante. La zona baja y suelo para edificar siguen siendo las principales demandas de los clientes. El sector confía que una mejora de la calidad de los servicios rentabilizaría mucho más a la zona

Prácticamente cuando el ejercicio económico acaricia el ecuador del calendario, es pertinente, siendo uno de los principales motores y pilares de la economía en Sotogrande y de gran parte de su área de influencia, tomarle el pulso a la actividad y la marcha del sector inmobiliario en la zona. Para ello, con la presencia y la invitación de este periódico a algunos de los profesionales y agentes de trayectoria o con nueva incidencia en Sotogrande, se extraen varias conclusiones del diagnóstico local del mercado, cuyas sensaciones invitan a pensar en positivo para este 2017. El encuentro, en un lugar emblemático, como es el Restaurante Midas en el Puerto de Sotogrande. A gran escala, las sensaciones del mercado inmobiliario en la zona son buenas e invitan a pensar que a medida que avance el año y vayan viendo la luz diferentes diseños, planes y estrategias previstas para la zona (los macroproyectos de grandes inversiones que más o menos ya se han venido dibujando y contando en los últimos meses; como son: La Reserva de Sotogrande, La Zagaleta o Los Pinos, siendo los dos últimos los menos inminentes aparentemente), servirán también como inyección para impulsar aún más la actividad inmobiliaria. Respecto a nivel de ventas, según se detalla desde el propio sector, el 2015 fue un año beneficioso y con unos registros muy notables. Una cifra que mermó o al menos en la mayoría de las ocasiones se estancó con plano crecimiento durante el pasado ejercicio de 2016, sin duda, un año complicado y con muchos factores externos con influencia en el mercado (prácticamente un año entero sin gobierno en España, la aprobación del ‘Brexit’ y la depreciación

de la Libra, así como la volatilidad de los mercados marcaron el curso económico en buena medida). Pero todo ello parece haberse apaciguado, según los balances a esta altura de mitad de 2017, se ven unos datos que mejorarían los del pasado calendario y se acercan a los de 2015 e incluso con previsión de superarlos. Todo ello, a gran escala, lo que está generando es un clima y contexto muy propicio para la inversión en Sotogrande y la reactivación sustancial de un mercado inmobiliario que si bien aún la oferta (que tampoco dispone de un stock desbordante como para afrontar un ‘boom’) supera a la demanda. En conclusión, respecto al ritmo de ventas se es muy optimista (relativamente como todo en este sector) cara a la segunda mitad del 2017. Tras una Semana Santa con un Sotogrande abarrotado, se presume un verano de mucho movimiento, visitas e interés por propiedades.

Respecto al crecimiento de la actividad y a la inercia del sector en la zona, desde un prisma algo alejado, el ritmo ascendente es el perfil predominante en todos los casos aunque bien es cierto, que aunque en ningún momento hay retroceso, según se manifiesta desde el mundo profesional, si hay desaceleraciones y se estanca con facilidad. Es decir, avanza con datos positivos pero lentos. En cuanto a los precios, están en un proceso ascendente, principalmente el suelo en los lugares más demandados. En cuanto al perfil de los clientes potenciales, como es casi costumbre en los últimos años, el interés está llegando prácticamente de todos las procedencias más clásicas (principalmente de países del norte de Europa), sin restar participación y protagonismo también al mercado nacional muy interesado, desde siempre, en Sotogrande. Además del perfil español; el mercado británico sigue siendo muy impor-

tante en la venta de inmuebles, así como un protagonismo que se está despertando de clientes franceses que no se daba habitualmente en la zona de manera tradicional. También existe mucha demanda de clientes belgas, un mercado en ascenso en los últimos años, así como de otros puntos como Noruega, Di-

En definitiva, el sector inmobiliario se encuentra activo y con visos de crecimiento, lo que sin duda es fundamental también para el desarrollo económico de muchas actividades terciarias y de servicios. Property sector commits to year of growth in Sotogrande • • • •

The agents are championing better figures than in 2016 and a more proactive environment. The level of sales has maintained an upward momentum although the rhythm of operations is not fluid and constant. The lower area and building land continue to be the main requests from clients. The sector is confident that improved quality in services will make the zone much more profitable.

As the financial year is practically within touching distance of the halfway point, it is important, given that it is one of the main driving forces and pillars of the economy in Sotogrande and a large part of its surrounding area, to take a look at the activity and progress of the property sector in the area. To that end, the newspaper has invited some longstanding and new professionals and agents in Sotogrande, to draw some conclusions from a local diagnosis of the market, and the impressions suggest a positive outlook for 2017. The meeting was held at an iconic venue, Restaurante Midas, in Sotogrande Port. On a large scale, impressions in the area´s property market are good and lead one to think that as the year progresses and we see the emergence of different designs, plans and strategies for the area (the macro-project from big investments that has more or less been designed and announced over the last few months; such as: La Reserva de Sotogrande, La Zagaleta and Los Pinos, the latter are the least imminent apparently), they would also serve as a further boost of the property sector. With regard to the level of sales, as the sector itself outlines, 2015 was a profitable year and very significant figures. This figure fell, or at least in the majority of occasions it remained stag-

nant with level growth during 2016, which was undoubtedly a difficult year and one with lots of external factors impacting on the market (practically a full year without a government in Spain, the approval of Brexit and the depreciation of the Pound, along with the volatility of markets, largely defined the economic year). However, all of this seems to have calmed down, according to assessments midway through 2017 we can see figures that are an improvement on those of last year, and they come close to 2015, there are even some predictions of surpassing them. All of this on a large scale is creating a climate and a context that is very favourable for investment in Sotogrande and the significant recovery of a property market where the offer (where there is not an overwhelming level of stock to face a boom) surpasses demand. In conclusion, with regard to the rate of sales things look very optimistic (relatively speaking as in all of this sector) with a view to the second half of 2017. Following a Holy Week in which Sotogrande was packed out, we can expect a summer with lots of movement, visits, and interest in properties. With regard to the growth in activity and the momentum of the sector in the area, from a more distant perspective, the

upward trend is the predominant profile in all cases while it is true that, and although there is no regression at any point, as the professional world notes, there are elements of slowing down and the sector becomes stagnant easily. That is to say, it is progressing with data that is positive but slow. With regard to prices, they are showing an upward trend, mainly for land in the most sought-after areas. In terms of the profile of potential clients, as is almost cus-

ally been seen in the area. There is also a lot of demand from Belgian clients, a market on the rise over the last few years, as well as other areas such as Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Holland and Russia, also very active countries over the last few years. As always, with regard to the areas of most activity and demand, the greatest interest remains in the lower area, closest to the sea, known as the Kings and Queens area. There is also

the change of house styles (less traditional or rustic), moving towards a more modern property profile with new techniques and architecture designs with intelligent houses and more light. Also, during the review of the needs and concerns of the sector, the professionals discussed the almost obligatory need to keep growing as an international luxury destination, and having quality services that befit a resort like Sotogrande. The agents also discussed the import need to care for and emphasise all the elements that reflect the culture and essence of a destination (maintenance, security, renovation, gardens, restaurants, leisure, sport, entertainment, family, etc.). In practically every sector there is room for improvement to set the bar higher. In this context, as we have already looked at, it would be necessary to have more hotel beds and a very luxurious establishment, that is to say, an exponential leap as a destination would involve having one of the so-called “six star” hotels in the areas. In short, the property sector is active and looking to grow, which is undoubtedly also vital for the economic growth of many tertiary and service activities. Having said that, the rate of growth is somewhat inconsistent but there are big prospects for growth.

¿Qué consecuencias genera la aprobación de un fondeadero de buques frente al litoral sanroqueño? El Consistorio sanroqueño puso en marcha una campaña contra el proyecto de la Autoridad Portuaria Bahía de Algeciras (APBA) de ubicar un fondeadero en el litoral mediterráneo sanroqueño. Además de la edición de

folletos y de carteles, celebró una reunión informativa en Torreguadiaro y cita otras el viernes 12 en Sotogrande y el martes 16 en Guadiaro, a las que están invitados vecinos y colectivos de todo el municipio. El proyecto re-

coge que las costas de levante del municipio, desde Alcaidesa a Cala Sardina (pasando por Sotogrande), sean catalogadas por la como fondeaderos de grandes buques, ampliando el área de dominio público portuario.

Además del importante impacto que tendría en la zona este plan, con consecuencias enormes para el sector turístico y de servicios (mermaría en gran consideración el actual grado de calidad de la zona); podría

afectar a diferentes áreas medioambientales y por supuesto a la economía del Valle del Guadiaro, que en gran parte encuentra su actividad económica en la parcela dedicada a este sentido.

“Espero compartir laboratorio con algún estudiante de la Comarca” La eminente científica, natural de Torreguadiaro, explica su experiencia en el extranjero y analiza la situación actual del sector 1 Manuel Gil

Encantado de saludarte. Cuéntanos un poco sobre tu trayectoria profesional y a qué te dedicas específicamente. En primer lugar, buenas y ¡gracias por el interés por la ciencia! Soy licenciada en Biología por la Freie Universität de Berlin, tengo un Doctorado en Inmunología por la Humboldt Universität y una Habilitación (acreditacion para ser profesor universitario) también en Inmunología por la Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin. La Charité abarca a la facultad de medicina y al hospital clínico universitario. En total 22 años dedicada a la investigación biomédica. Actualmente dirijo el grupo de Neuroinmunología Experimental en la Charité. Trabajamos en transtornos autoinmunes del sistema nervioso central. Nos dedicamos principalmente a investigar que alteraciones inmunológicas y metabólicas contribuyen al desarrollo de enfermedades como la Esclerosis Múltiple y la Neuromielitis Óptica.

ción actual de la ciencia en España es necesario un cambio político en muchos sentidos y que dichas entidades se dejasen aconsejar por expertos en la materia” ¿Qué te inspiró a decantarte por esa rama de la ciencia? La inmunología es apasionante. Es una ciencia relativamente joven y por tanto con muchas incógnitas, por lo que es un reto constante. Entender los procesos inmunes nos ayundan a enterder prácticamente todas la patologías, desde el cáncer a las infecciones crónicas pasando por la alergias y las enfermedades autoinmunes. ¿Cómo fueron tus inicios? ¿Qué te llevó a irte a Alemania? Empecé estudiando magisterio, la rama de ciencia, en la Universidad de Cádiz. Acabe a finales de los ochenta, muy jovencita y sin mucha perspectiva de trabajo. Mientras me llamaban para alguna sustitución, me fui a Berlín con un visado de turista de tres meses. ¡Y los tres meses se han convertido en una vida! Me quedé en Berlin, rechace una sustitución, que si que llego, y

acabé estudiando lo que siempre me habia interesado, la Biología. En aquel tiempo, comparado con España, Alemania era un paraiso para los estudiantes. Las matriculas prácticamente irrisorias y se podía trabajar para costearse los estudios ¡Un lujo! La decisión de quedarme no fue difícil, Berlin era el futuro. Mi universidad tenía (y tiene) una oficina central a la q llegaban diariamente ofertas de trabajo para estudiantes, de empresas o de personas privadas. El dia q no tenía clases o durante las vacaciones, me iba antes de las 6 de la mañana a la oficina, me ponía en la cola y siempre salia con un trabajo para un dia, una semana o un mes, depende del tiempo disponible. Hice de todo, desde limpiar ventanas para abuelitas hasta trabajar en una empresa de producción de cafe o de empaquetados farmaceuticos... ¡Mereció la pena! Y aprendí mucho aleman con los “jobs” ¿Te ves regresando algún día? Para trabajar lo dudo, no lo veo posible. Tal vez en el marco de un sabático salga de Berlin durante un año. España seria una opción. Pero este rinconcito andaluz sigue siendo mi tierra, Nunca me he ido del todo. ¿Qué futuro crees que tiene la ciencia en España? Si se sigue como hasta ahora no pronostico un buen futuro. En general los graduados y científicos españoles tienen una fama excelente. El potencial humano esta ahí. Lo que hace falta es un plan sólido de desarrollo científico a largo plazo, que no dependa de los cambios políticos o intereses electorales. La ciencia es fundamental para el desarrollo de un sociedad y aqui aún no somos concientes de su importancia. ¿Cómo progresar o mejorar en este sentido? Un cambio político es fundamental. Lo que necesitamos esta perfectamente resumido en el Manifiesto por la Ciencia 2017 elaborado por Confederación de Sociedades Científicas de España (COSCE) y publicado a principios de abril. En resumen, las entidades políticas tienen que valorar, respetar y dejarse asesorar por los expertos. El hecho de que no contemos con

un “ministerio de ciencia” refleja la falta de reconocimiento político y social con el cuenta la ciencia en España. A nivel de gestión, se necesitaria una institución nacional que administrara los recursos científicos. Una institución independiente, con presupuesto propio como existen en Alemania y muchos otros países europeos. Y hay que invertir más. Según tengo entendido España ha presupuestado para el 2017 unos 6.029 millones para investigación, mientras que Alemania destina 17.650 millones, un 3% de su PIB. Desde la política se tiene que revalorizar la formacion, la cultura y el conocimiento. No se puede permitir que acabemos alabando la ignoracia y el postureo. ¿Conoces a muchos españoles en las mismas condiciones? Mis condiciones son muy buenas, la verdad y lamentablemente conozco a muy pocos con una estabilidad profesional como la que yo he alcanzado. Pero hay miles de científicos jóvenes españoles en situación casi de desamparo. Tenemos incluso nuestra sociedad, La Sociedad de Científicos Españoles en la República Federal de Alemania (CERFA) que se creó en Junio del 2012 y cuenta ya con más de 550 miembros inscritos. Te hemos visto recientemente en

la zona, colaborando con la difusión y promoción de eventos como ‘Diverciencia’. ¿Crees que son una primera piedra? Por supuesto. Son iniciativas importantísimas. Y quiero agradacer en este lugar a la incansable y excelente Ana Villaescusa y a los Amigos de la Ciencia por organizar año tras año el evento y movilizar a miles de estudiantes. Como ya mencioné en mi charla, la divulgación es la base de la motivación y de la comunicación ciencia-sociedad, es el fundamento del

Y claro el pescadito, las tapas..lo tipico, que es tipico porque es cierto [bromea]. ¿Sueles escaparte cuando las obligaciones te lo permitan y hacer una visita? Si claro. Voy tres o cuatro veces al año. Mi madre y mis hermanas estan en Algeciras. Y tengo familia repartida por toda comarca. En Torreguadiaro viven dos de mis tios, una prima y mis amigas de la infancia. Un lugar especial de Torreguadiaro... Pues hay varios, la casa donde viví toda mi vida, ya muy cambiada, en frente de la charca (q creo que ahora llaman “laguna”), nuestra escuelita unitaria, la playa y las torres, las del siglo XVI, se entiende. Tell us a little about your professional trajectory and exactly what your specific role is. Firstly, hello and thanks for taking an interest in science! I hold a degree in Biology from Freie Universität in Berlin, I have a Doctorate in Immunology from Humboldt Universität and an Entitlement (accreditation to be a university teacher) also in Immunology from the Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin. How did you get started? What led you to take the step up to Germany? I began studying a teaching diploma, in science, at the University of Cadiz. I finished at the end of the eighties, very young and with few work prospects. While waiting for them to call me for a replacement role, I went to Berlin with a three-month tourist visa. And the three months turned into a lifetime! I stayed in Berlin, I rejected a replacement role, which did arrive, and I ended up studying what I had always been interested in, Biology. At that time, compared to Spain, Germany was a paradise for students. The course fees were practically laughable and it was possible to work to pay for your studies. A real luxury! It was an easy decision to stay, Berlin was the future. My university had (and has) a central office that received daily offers of work for students, from

Do you imagine yourself returning one day? To work, I doubt it, I do not see it being possible. I could perhaps leave Berlin for a year as a sabbatical. Spain would be an option. However, this little corner of Andalusia remains my homeland, I have never fully left. What do you think is the future of science in Spain? If it continues as it has up until now, I do not foresee a good future. In general, Spanish graduates and scientists have an excellent reputation. The human potential is there. What is needed is a strong plan for long-term scientific development, which does not depend on political changes or electoral interests. Science is vital for the development of a society and here we are still not aware of its importance. How to progress or improve in that regard? A political change is crucial. What we need is perfectly summarised in the 2017 Manifesto for Science, created by the Confed-

An independent institution, with its own budget, such as those that exist in Germany and many other European countries. And it is necessary to invest more. El IV Descenso del Río Guadiaro en Kayak, un éxito ✑ M. Gil

El IV Descenso del Río Guadiaro en Kayak fue todo un éxito de participación. Las 150 plazas disponibles estaban agotadas desde hacía varios días y el río bajaba con fuerza, de manera que la diversión fue plena para los participantes. Una cita que cerró una jornada plena con una paella en la zona de meta. La prueba tuvo la salida en El Secadero, donde destacó el gran ambiente previo que motivan este tipo de actividades turísticas de ocio saludable. La mayoría de los participantes invirtieron poco más de dos ho-

ras en hacer el recorrido, que discurrió por un paisaje envidiable y finalizó junto a la desembocadura del Guadiaro, en Marina Sotogrande. La organización fue de la empresa Andalucia Activities, con la colaboración del Ayuntamiento de San Roque junto a los de Casares y Manilva. También participaron otras empresas como Sotogrande.

El Ayuntamiento propuso a Carreteras del Estado, como ya informó recientemente en un Informe El Periódico de Sotogrande, varias mejoras en Pueblo Nuevo, tanto en la zona comercial que queda en un lado de la A7, como en la zona residencial, en el otro margen de la autovía. En concreto, se trata de llevar a cabo una senda peatonal para comunicar con seguridad ambas partes, la mejora del firme en dos tramos de la vía de servicio y la eliminación de las pantallas acústicas que están justo frente a los comercios. Todas estas cuestiones les han sido trasladadas a Rodrigo Vázquez y José María Padilla, responsables respectivamente de las demarcaciones de Carreteras de Andalucía Occidental y de Cádiz, durante una visita a la zona, a la que asistió Salvador de la Encina,

Council requests improvements to Pueblo Nuevo service roads from Roads Department As outlined recently in a Report published in El Periódico de Sotogrande, the Council has proposed several improvements in Pueblo Nuevo to the State Roads Department, in the commercial area to one side of the A7, as well as in the residential area, on the other side of the motorway. Specifically, they involve creating a pedestrian path in order to safely link up both parts, improving the surface in two stretches of the service road and removing sound barriers that are just in front on businesses. All of these issues have been communicated to Rodrigo Vázquez and José María Padilla, heads of the Roads Departments of Western Andalusia and Cadiz, respectively, during a visit to the area, that was attended by Salvador de la Encina, socialist member of Congress, along with the

El municipio de San Roque contará este año con tres banderas azules, dos por las playas de Torreguadiaro y Cala Sardina, y otra por Puerto Sotogrande, si bien esta última instalación es de titularidad privada. Además, se mantiene la distinción como Centro Azul para el Aula de la Naturaleza del Pinar del Rey. La Asociación de Educación Ambiental y del Consumidor (Adeac), que concede estos galardones, no ha incluido este año la playa de La Alcaidesa, que se comparte con el municipio de La Línea. El teniente de alcalde delegado de Playas, José Antonio Rojas, explicó que “todavía no tenemos ninguna información oﬁcial sobre las causas de la retirada de la bandera azul a Alcaidesa-Torrecarbonera, aunque el nivel de servicios y de las

‘Resubida’ de árboles y poda palmeras Personal de la Delegación de Obras y Servicios están procediendo estos días a adecuar la arboleda de distintos puntos del municipio. Además, se va proceder a la poda de las alrededor de 2.500 palmeras existentes. En las imágenes se aprecia la zona de la Avenida Tierno Galván de Guadiaro, donde los operarios procedieron a realizar una “resubida”, es decir, quitar las ramas más bajas para que los árboles no estorben el paso de niños y mayores por la acera. Estos trabajos son posteriores e independientes de las podas, que se llevarán de nuevo a cabo, si Medio Ambiente de la Junta de Andalucía lo autoriza, en el mes de octubre. También, durante el verano, se va a proceder a la poda de las alrededor de 2.500 palmeras existentes en el municipio. Esta “resubida” de las ramas bajas de los árboles se van a llevar a cabo en varias zonas del municipio.

El Consejo de Escuela Primaria del Colegio Internacional de Sotogrande desea invitar a toda la comunidad al 2017 Family Fun Day and Spring Fair que se celebrará el 28 de mayo. El evento, organizado por el Consejo estudiantil de primaria y patrocinado por Sotogrande SA, se ha diseñado para niños de entre 2 y 10 años. Los más jóvenes disfrutarán de juegos y actividades de artesanía con el personal de Fundamentals y SIS Early Years, mientras que los mayores se divertirán con juegos como los penaltis, actividades acuáticas y mini trampolines. Para garanti-

zar que todo el mundo tiene un día fantástico, también habrá un castillo hinchable, helados, pintura para caras y mucho más. Todas las actividades están supervisadas por el personal del Colegio Internacional de Sotogrande, así mientras los niños juegan, los padres pueden relajarse, escuchar la música tocada por los estudiantes y disfrutar de la deliciosa comida de los puestos de paella y parrilla argentina a la sombra en una carpa. CEIP Barbésula Se inician las obras para el comedor del CEIP Barbésula Operarios municipales y del Plan de Empleo comienzan con los trabajos para que el centro de San Enrique pueda contar con este demandado servicio el próximo curso ✑ Redacción

Trabajadores de los planes de empleo de la Junta de Andalucía y de la Delegación Municipal de Obras y Servicios iniciaron los trabajos para acondicionar como nuevo comedor unas dependencias del CEIP Barbésula, de San Enrique. Un compromiso al que había llegado el Ayuntamiento con la Consejería de Educación a cambio de la concesión de este servicio, y la idea es que las obras estén finalizadas lo antes posible de cara al próximo curso escolar. La obra principal se desarrolla en unas dependencias donde antes se ubicaban la sede de la AMPA y el aula de Informática, lugar donde se situará el comedor en sí para los alumnos, y donde también habrá

que abrir una puerta de emergencia. Además, la entrada inferior al colegio se va a acondicionar como office para el uso de la empresa de catering que traerá la comida. En la zona del gimnasio se va a habilitar una entrada para que los padres puedan recoger a los niños. Y, finalmente, los actuales aparcamientos del personal docente se transformarán en zona de ocio para los alumnos. El pasado 6 de marzo, el delegado Territorial de Educación, Juan Luis Belizón, el alcalde, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, y la delegada de Educación, Belén Jiménez, anunciaron la concesión del comedor para el CEIP Barbésula. Se cumplía así una vieja aspiración de la comunidad educativa del centro,

ya que en los últimos años se había dado una reducción importante en el número de matrículas: muchos de los alumnos vecinos de San Enrique se

matriculaban al Colegio Gloria Fuertes de Guadiaro, que se estaba masificando. Uno de los motivos que decidían a los padres por el colegio de Gua-

diaro era que el Barbésula no contaba con comedor escolar. En el curso 2017/18 funcionará por fin uno para un total de 30 plazas.

Por consiguiente, circunstancias tales como que la entidad permanezca inactiva o que, teniendo actividad, no se hayan generado como consecuencia de la misma rentas sometidas a tributación, no eximen al contribuyente de la obligación de presentar la preceptiva declaración. ¿Quiénes están sujetos al Impuesto sobre Sociedades? La sujeción al Impuesto la determina la residencia en territorio español. Se considerarán residentes en territorio español las entidades en las que concurra alguno de los siguientes requisitos:

• Que se hubiesen constituido conforme a las leyes españolas. • Que tengan su domicilio social en territorio español. • Que tengan la sede de dirección efectiva en territorio español. Recuerde que la Administración tributaria podrá presumir que una entidad radicada en algún país o territorio de nula tributación o considerado como paraíso fiscal tiene su residencia en territorio español cuando sus activos principales, directa o indirectamente, consistan en bienes situados o derechos que se cumplan o ejerciten en territorio español, o cuando su actividad principal se desarrolle en éste, salvo que dicha entidad acredite que su dirección y efectiva gestión tiene lugar en aquel país o territorio, así como que la constitución y operativa de la entidad responde a motivos económicos válidos y razones empresariales sustantivas distintas de la simple gestión de valores u otros activos. Los contribuyentes del Impuesto sobre Sociedades serán gravados

por la totalidad de la renta que obtengan, con independencia del lugar donde se hubiere producido y cualquiera que sea la residencia del pagador. Como únicas excepciones a la obligación general de declarar, la normativa vigente contempla las entidades declaradas totalmente exentas por el artículo 9.1 de la Ley del Impuesto sobre Sociedades (el Estado, las Comunidades Autónomas, las Entidades Gestoras de las Seguridad Social…) y las entidades parcialmente exentas a que se refiere el artículo 9.3 de la misma ley (entidades sin ánimo de lucro; uniones, federaciones y confederaciones de cooperativas; colegios profesionales, asociaciones empresariales etc…) que cumplan los siguientes requisitos: • Que sus ingresos totales no superen 75.000 euros anuales. • Que los ingresos correspondientes a rentas no exentas no superen 2.000 euros anuales. • Que todas las rentas no exentas que obtengan estén sometidas a retención.

Y, por último, las comunidades titulares de montes vecinales en mano común respecto de aquellos períodos impositivos en que no tengan ingresos sometidos al Impuesto sobre Sociedades, ni incurran en gasto alguno, ni realicen las inversiones que dan derecho a la reducción en la base imponible específicamente aplicable a estos contribuyentes. Sociedades Civiles A partir de 2016 las sociedades civiles con personalidad jurídica y objeto mercantil, que venían tributando en régimen de atribución de rentas, pasan a ser contribuyentes del Impuesto sobre Sociedades. No obstante, seguirán tributando por el IRPF, las sociedades civiles que realicen actividades agrícolas, ganaderas, forestales, pesqueras, mineras, así como las profesionales en el sentido de la Ley 2/2007, de Sociedades Profesionales. disuelta y liquidada. No olvide que desde 2016 las sociedades civiles con personalidad jurídica y objeto mercantil son contribuyentes del Impuesto sobre Sociedades, y que ello le obliga a presentar cada año la declaración de dicho impuesto (incluso aunque la tenga dada de baja). De lo contrario, Hacienda puede sancionarle con hasta 200 euros de multa por cada declaración no presentada. Atención. Si usted es administrador de una sociedad inactiva y deja de presentar sus declaraciones, Hacienda podría imponerle sanciones. Y si no tiene dinero para pagar, Hacienda podría iniciar un procedimiento de derivación de responsabilidad y exigírselas a usted como administrador.

If you set up a civil society some

time ago that is now inactive, ensure that it was dissolved and liquidated. Jon Rahm elige Sotogrande para disputar su primer torneo profesional en suelo español. Será en el Valderrama Andalucía Masters, el próximo mes de octubre. El golfista vasco lo confirmó a la prensa durante la celebració de la feria Unigolf celebrada recientemente en Madrid y en la que La Revista de Sotogrande estuvo presente. Rahm anunició que, salvo lesión, estará en Valderrama el próximo mes de octubre para disputar el único torneo del Circuito Europeo que se celebrará este año en España. “Me hace mucha ilusión porque nunca he jugado un torneo profesional en España. Es un campo que me gusta mucho porque es muy divertido y todo un reto, y a mí me encantan los retos. Esperemos que tenga cuatro buenos días esa semana”, declaró uno de los jugadores más destacados del momento. “Solo he jugado una vez en Valderrama y fue hace seis años. Mi juego ha cambiado bastante desde entones. Es un campo en el que no puedo pegar al drive a mi gusto porque es bastante estrecho y hay que meter la bola en la calle. Es un campo estratégico en el que los golpes hacia green van a tener mucha importancia. Son greenes pequeños y complicados y hay que ser muy preciso. Habrá que ser paciente y esperemos que no haga mucho viento, porque en Valderrama con viento es imposible. Ya se vio la última vez a Andrew Johnstone ganar con uno sobre par. No es un campo fácil en las condiciones más fáciles, y si sale viento será complicado.

After three great days of competition, and several months of livening up the area, the RC44 Sotogrande Cup 2017 reached its final day with lots to be decided: there were just seven points separating the top four teams (Team Aqua, Nika, Bronenosec and Peninsula Pe-

troleum) and three heats planned for an RC44 fleet where the leadership was constantly changing hands. That was to be the case, and Team Aqua, Nika, Peninsula Petroleum and Bronenosec gave everything. Artemis won the first event of the day (with Bassadone´s local team at the stern), the Peninsula Petroleum dominated the second,

and Katusha won the third. While the first heat of the day confirmed Bake´s Aqua as leader of the general rankings, victory in the second head for a very powerful Peninsula Petroleum saw them rise to top of the podium, with Team Aqua dropping, after having broken their spar. With everything to be decided in the final heat, the three podium teams –Aqua,

Peninsula and Nika- fought among one another, with the event finally won by Katusha. After 10 regattas, Chris Bake´s Team Aqua won the RC44 Sotogrande Cup followed by John Bassadone´s Peninsula Petroleum, which finished in the same position it did in Sotogrande in 2016, and by the Bronenosec Sailing team of Vladimir Liubomirov.

La XIX Jornada Deportiva del IES Sierra Almenara, de nuevo un éxito 1 Manuel Gil

Las instalaciones deportivas de Pueblo Nuevo acogieron la XIX Jornada Deportiva del IES Sierra Almenara, en la que participaron cientos de alumnos de cuatro institutos campogibraltareños y del vecino CEIP Gloria Fuertes. Con esta actividad, consistente en varias pruebas de atletismo,

no sólo se pretende fomentar la práctica del deporte, sino también la convivencia entre los adolescentes. En esta edición participaron en la cita deportiva los institutos Sierra Almenara (Guadiaro), Mar del Sur (Taraguilla), Almoraima (Castellar) y Azahar (Tesorillo),

además del CEIP Gloria Fuertes. Se desarrollaron distintas pruebas de atletismo, tanto saltos como lanzamientos, así como carreras de corta y larga distancia. La organización es del IES Sierra Almenara, y colaboran las delegaciones de Deportes, Educación y Seguridad Ciudadana.

Emoción hasta el final en el Circuito de J80 Marina Sotogrande Emoción y vela. La fuerte rivalidad entre los equipos, junto a unas condiciones adversas que convirtieron el campo de regatas de Sotogrande en un lugar muy complicado para navegar y conseguir los objetivos. Vientos muy fuertes de levante condicionaron el ir y venir de los barcos y nunca mejor dicho, con tramos y maniobras imposibles para intentar mantener el tipo de la mejor forma. La flota andaluza de monotipos J/80 navegó en aguas de Sotogrande para resolver la séptima y antepenúltima entrega de la sexta edición de este circuito invernal. El Gesta Real Estate de John Bassadone recuperaba el liderazgo con 48 puntos al ser el ganador parcial de este asalto después de cinco pruebas y victoria en tres de ellas. El Marbella Team, capitaneado por el sevillano Felipe parejo en ausencia de su co-armador y caña habitual Juan Luis Páez, lo siguió ganando dos de las pruebas y conservando el liderazgo en la general provisional del Trofeo de Primavera. El barco con bandera compartida entre el Náutico Sevilla y el RCM Sotogrande que arman Páez y Pepequín Orbaneja salvó los muebles para seguir líder de este trofeo que se corre en la segunda mitad del circuito, con tres puntos de renta sobre los de Bassadone, pero peridieron el ajustado liderazgo del absoluto. El tercer puesto sigue en manos del noruego Vidar Hansson con el High Seas.

19th Sports Day at IES Sierra Almenara, another success The sports facilities in Pueblo Nuevo hosted the 19th Sports Day at IES Sierra Almenara, with participation from hundreds of students from four schools in Campo de Gibraltar and the neighbouring CEIP Gloria Fuertes. This activity, consisting of several athletics

events, is aimed at encouraging sport, as well as social mixing among adolescents. This edition involved participation from the schools Sierra Almenara (Guadiaro), Mar del Sur (Taraguilla), Almoraima (Castellar) and Azahar (Tesorillo), as well as CEIP Gloria

Fuertes. There were different athletics events, such as long jumps and discus throwing, as well as short and long-distance races. The organisers were IES Sierra Almenara, with collaboration from the Sports, Education and Civic Security delegations.

Excitement and sailing. The strong rivalry between the team, along with adverse conditions that turned the Sotogrande racing area into a very difficult place for sailing and attaining objectives. Strong eastern winds conditioned the to and fro of the vessels, with impossible stretches and manoeuvres for maintaining the best form. The Andalusian J/80 monotype fleet sailed in Sotogrande waters in order to settle the seventh and last but two event of the sixth edition of this winter circuit. The Gesta Real Estate with John Bassadone recovered the lead with 48 points by becoming the partial leader of this event after five heats and victory in three of them. The Marbella Team, captained by the Sevillian Felipe Parejo in the absence of his co-skipper and routine tiller Juan Luis Páez, were behind them, winning two of the heats and retaining leadership in the provisional rankings of the Spring Trophy. The vessel with a flag shared between the Náutico Sevilla and RCM Sotogrande which is skippered by Páez and Pepequín Orbaneja saved face in order to remain leader of this trophy that runs in the second half of the circuit, with a three-point advantage over Bassadone´s men, but they lost the close overall rankings. Third place continues in the hands of the Norwegian Vidar Hansson with the High Seas.

Cerca de 500 jóvenes acuden a la convivencia andaluza de rugby de Pueblo Nuevo 1 Redacción

Cerca de 500 jóvenes de toda Andalucía participaron en la Final de Rugby Gradual de la Federación Andaluza de Rugby, que se celebró en las instalaciones polideportivas de en Pueblo Nuevo de Guadiaro, sede del Club de Rugby del Estrecho, organizador del evento. El medio millar de niños niños pertenecían a las categorías inferiores de 10 clubes de rugby andaluces, que tuvieron una jornada de convivencia. Los chicos, de entre los 6 y 12 años de edad,

tuvieron la oportunidad de disfrutar de enfrentamientos sin clasificación durante toda la mañana, encuentros que no se vieron empañados por el viento, que ya a esas horas descendía en su intensidad. El presidente del Club de Rugby del Estrecho, organizador del evento, David Arias, “en esta cuarta edición que hemos organizado de Rugby Gradual, en al que no hay ganadores ni vencidos, hemos logrado congregar a

casi 500 niños de 10 clubes. Agradezco a la Delegacón de Deportes su apoyo para poder llevar a efecto esta actividad”. En el encuentro estaba presente el vicepresidente de la Federación Andaluza de Rugby, Javier Sainz, que señaló que este deporte “goza cada vez de mejor salud en Andalucía, y lo que intentamos con estas actividades es dar a conocer los valores de este deporte en particular, sobre todo a los más pequeños”.

Las instalaciones del Club de Golf La Reserva de Sotogrande acogieron la XXI edición de la Jornada de Greenkeepers Navarro Montes. Además, paralelamente, también se disputó en el extraordinario trazado el VI Torneo Navarro Montes-ICL con la participación de los profesionales asistentes al evento. Por un lado, con la colaboración de ICL, Sygenta y Navarro Montes se llevó en el tramo matinal la jornada informática con conferencias y demostraciones en el propio campo de

las nuevas técnicas de mantenimiento de campos de golf. Tres ponencias, algunas presentaciones y casos prácticos fueron los protagonistas en el tramo previo al almuerzo en la Casa Club de La Reserva. Durante el tramo vespertino se llevó a cabo el torneo de golf que finalizó con la victoria del representante del club anfitrión (La Reserva), José Godino. Le acompañaron en el podio José Ángel Sánchez (Río Real) y Gonzalo Rosa (Alhaurín), como segundo y tercero respectivamente.

Éxito rotundo de la primera edición de la Copa de las Naciones, celebrada en el Club de Golf La Cañada. Un evento formidable que permitió, además del propio fin competitivo, acercar a los socios entre si y crear unos vínculos más allá del deporte. La final la disputó España II contra Resto del Mundo, resultando ganador absoluto el equipo España II con 8 puntos. La dirección del Club también mostró su satisfacción con los resultados y el buen ambiente, y esperan poder repetir la experiencia en el año 2018. Resto del Mundo firmó el subcampeonato; y en el resto de

puestos, España I y España III se repartieron el tercer y cuarto puesto, respectivamente; Reino Unido + Irlanda II fue quinto; Suecia acabó en sexto lugar; el equipo Hispano Sueco fue séptimo y Reino Unido + Irlanda I cerró en octavo lugar el torneo. Recordar que se trata de un innovador torneo que en su primer reúne a un total de 8 equipos de diferentes nacionalidades, compuestos por 12 jugadores que competirán durante tres jornadas por alzarse por la victoria bajo la Modalidad March Play. El objetivo es que cuatro jugadores de cada equipo jueguen

los Foursomes Match Play, otros cuatro disputen Fourball Match Play y otros cuatro los Match Play individuales. Cada equipo contará con un capitán y ayudantes para preparar y diseñar las estrategias más beneﬁciosas para ayudar a su conjunto a conseguir la victoria ﬁnal.
