Por fin acaricia Sotogrande una de las primeras ventanas del calendario más ansiada por residentes y visitantes. Tradicionalmente, con la llegada de la Semana Santa, arranca la considerada ‘temporada turística’; momento predilecto para el sector empresarial privado en el que ir desgranando sus propuestas comerciales y en el que enseñar un primer avance de lo que serán sus iniciativas para el largo recorrido de la campaña socio-económica en Sotogrande. Guarda este 2018 la particularidad de que desembarcamos en este pronto y esperado momento del calendario con la trayectoria de varias semanas de inclemencias meteorológicas que han puesto en jaque y en serios aprietos diferentes puntos de la urbanización y del entorno más inmediato. En momentos así es cuando se demuestra la viabilidad y excelencia en las infraestructuras de un com-
plejo turístico y residencial de primer nivel como es y debe preservar este destino. Si bien, a líneas generales, la urbanización ha soportado a gran altura las fuertes condiciones que han azotado a todo el litoral, a excepción del corte al tránsito por precaución del puente que conecta el puerto deportivo y la zona de los Reyes y Reinas por un pronunciamiento de los socavones que ya presentaba; el examen se salda con un balance positivo. Sin problemas de canalizaciones, inundaciones considerables (como si se han podido ver en puntos cercanos como San Martín del Tesorillo o Jimena), embalsamientos o caídas de ramas y árboles de mayor relevancia. Quizás algunos puntos siempre más acusados en los perímetros (zona del paseo marítimo de Torreguadiaro, accesos a la vía de servicio, etc.) y algunos enclaves más (diversos tramos de la playa de Sotogrande), aparecen siem-

El problema aparece cuando otros prismas que también pertenecen al acotamiento de la urbanización y que no depende, absolutamente, de la gestión y control de la misma no se encuentran a la misma altura. Sólo queda fijarse en el reportaje gráfico de esta edición sobre las rotondas e intersecciones. Si se es un resort de lujo de gran calidad también se debe parecer. No sólo en su seno más profundo sino desde que se acerca el visitante o futuro residente. Luchar más con las administraciones e instituciones públicas para mantener unas infraestructuras de cierto nivel (accesos, vías de servicio, pasos peatones, la salida de la A-7 hacia Torreguadiaro,…, y una larga lista así), debe ser una prioridad a corto y medio plazo para seguir creciendo.
Finally, Sotogrande is on the verge of one of the first windows of the year that is most eagerly awaited by residents and visitors. Traditionally, the arrival of Holy Week marks the start of what is considered to be the “tourist season”; the favourite time of the private business sector for gradually outlining its commercial proposals and for showing a first step of what will be their initiatives for the long route of the socioeconomic campaign in Sotogrande. 2108 has the particularity that we are arriving at this early and expected time of the calendar with the background of several weeks of bad weather that has seriously endangered and caused serious problems for the resort and its immediate surroundings. It is times like this that show the viability and excellence of the infrastructures of a first-
rate tourism and residential complex, which is what this destination is, and must remain. However, generally speaking, the resort largely dealt with the strong conditions that hit the entire coastline, aside from the precautionary closing of the bridge that connects the marina and the “Kings and Queens” area due to an exacerbation of the potholes it already had; the general assessment is positive. There were no issues with piping, considerable flooding (which was the case in nearby areas such as San Martín del Tesorillo and Jimena), water reservoirs or falling of large branches and trees. Perhaps there were some areas that suffered most in the perimeter areas (area of the maritime promenade in Torreguadiaro, accesses to the service road, etc.) and some other areas (different stretches of Sotogrande
beach) that always appear in the headlines but, having said that, the test was passed. The problem appears when other areas that also belong to the boundary of the resort, and that in no way depend on the management and control of it, are not up to the same standard. You simply need to look at the graphic report in this edition on roundabouts and intersections. If it is a high-quality luxury resort it must also appear to be so. Not simply at its core, but also from the moment that visitors or future residents approach it. Battling more with administrations and public institutions in order to maintain infrastructures of a certain level (accesses, service roads, pedestrian crossings, the A-7 exit to Torreguadiaro...and a long list like that), must be a priority in the short and medium-term in order to keep growing.

Una Semana Santa sin excesivo marketing Hace tan sólo unas cuantas horas que estrenamos primavera en este 2018 y con ella, la apertura más tradicional de la temporada turística en Sotogrande. Aunque como decía el segundo verso de Machado, que no está demás recordar, prácticamente “nadie sabe como ha sido”. Probablemente 1 José Luis García esta sensación personal Editor/Director y casi palpable en difejlgarcia@grupohcp.com rentes sectores empresariales del entorno, se encuentra causada por las tres últimas semanas en las que el fuerte temporal (Emma, Gisele,…,) y la alta presencia de lluvias han mermado el lanzamiento de iniciativas y nuevas apuestas del ámbito privado. En Sotogrande estamos muy acostumbrados a estrenar, como manda el ritual, del Domingo de Ramos. Es casi ya habitual en este destino que en la apertura del primer periplo vacacional del año, la primera ventana del calendario marcada en rojo, nuestros ilustres visitantes se encuentren con nuevas propuestas sociales, gastronómicas y de ocio. Algo que ocurrirá en menor medida esta temporada, por no decir que prácticamente no sucederá.
Quizás sea su prontitud, tan sólo 83 días desde el inicio del nuevo año gracias al caprichoso calendario lunar, o las inclemencias meteorológicas que poco invitan a ello; pero hacía muchos años que la Semana Santa no desembarcaba en Sotogrande sin llevar adosado un sinfín de nuevas propuestas y eventos para los visitantes. Llama poderosamente la atención la ligera agenda de citas y actos sociales, más allá de los deportivos o la iniciativa gastronómica que propone para el primer fin de semana el Restaurante L’Olive en La Reserva Club. Se demanda mayor actividad desde el sector privado y por supuesto, una mayor implicación de las administraciones públicas. Apostar fuertemente por el Turismo, en mayúsculas, es algo más que acudir a ferias internacionales, citas con turoperadores o la publicación de guías. Se trata de fomentar y potenciar la zona con dinámicas, actividades de nivel y al fin y al cabo crear contenidos para potenciar la notoriedad de un área que también forma parte del municipio. Por mencionar el tema deportivo, si bien la recuperación e inicio de la temporada de polo en Sotogrande es siempre una buena noticia y algo grato para los no pocos amantes de este deporte en la zona; sí es necesario mencionar que el calendario de torneos anunciados tiene más connotaciones hacia convertirse en un fre-

cuentado punto de encuentro social que de apostar fuertemente por la pura competición deportiva. Esperamos, y estamos seguro de ello, que se irá animando a medida que nos habituemos a ver el sol en lo alto y se arranquen hojas del calendario. Por otro lado, otras de las noticias que contemplan las hojas del ejemplar que tiene en mano son las diferentes aperturas de emblemáticas establecimientos con la llegada de la Semana Santa. Para residentes y visitantes será de buen agrado volver a saludar lugares y caras conocidas algo a lo que nos sumamos y por ello aplaudimos y damos en eco en nuestras informaciones. Como también lo hacemos y no siempre para aplaudir, el estado de algunas infraestructuras y accesos a la urbanización. Es capital en un complejo residencial de gran lujo cuidar todos los detalles. Echen un vistazo a las rotondas de la zona o la preocupación, no falta de fundamentos, con el desenlace en el caso del puente que conecta la zona de La Marina y la parte costera de la urbanización. Pero también tenemos que sacar pecho y felicitar a dos entidades de renombre, en este caso educativas, como el Colegio Internacional de Sotogrande y el Patrocinio de San José. Su apuesta por una formación de calidad ve sus frutos cada año al estar incluidos entre los 100 mejores colegios del país. Todo suma y en los casos de la educación y la seguridad, son dos temas que marcan la diferencia. Mientras tanto, disfrutemos de esta Semana Santa. Vivimos en un lugar privilegiado y tenemos mucho que hacer, probar y degustar. Echen un vistazo al periódico y decidan por su mejor plan para estos días. It has just been a few hours since we unveiled spring 2018, the start of the traditional tourist season in Sotogrande. However, as the second verse of the Machado says, which is worth remembering, practically “nobody knows how”. Probably, this personal feeling, that is almost palpable in different business sectors in the area, is due to the three last weeks when strong storms (Emma, Gisele,..) and the high presence of rain has diminished the launch of initiatives and new projects in the private sector. In Sotogrande we are very used to welcoming Palm Sunday according to ritual. It is almost customary in this destination that at the start of the first holiday period of the year, the first window of the calendar marked in red, our illustrious visitors find new social, gastronomic and leisure options. This is something that will happen to a lesser extent this season, if it will practically happen at all. This is perhaps due to its earliness, just 83 days into the new year thanks to the capricious lunar calendar, and the poor weather that is not very favourable for it; but it has been many years since Holy Week arrived in Sotogrande without bringing with it an endless range of new proposals and events for visitors. What is really striking is the light agenda of social events and gatherings, beyond sporting events or the gastronomic initiative that Restaurante L´Olive at La Reserva Club has organised for the first weekend. There is a demand for great-
er activity from the private sector and of course, greater involvement from public administrations. Making a strong commitment to Tourism, in its most significant form, means more than attending international fairs, appointments with tour operators and the publication of guides. This is about encouraging and boosting the area with dynamics, top-level activities and ultimately creating content in order to boost the renown of a part that is also part of the municipality. To mention the issue of sport, while the return and start of the polo season in Sotogrande is always good news and something appreciated by the large number of true enthusiasts of this sport in the area; it is necessary to mention that the calendar of tournaments announced gives the impression more of becoming a busy social area than of making a strong commitment to sporting competition. We hope, and we are certain, that it will become livelier as we get used to seeing the sun up high in the sky and as the days pass.
On the other hand, another of the news stories in the sheets of this edition you are reading is that of the different openings of emblematic establishments with the arrival of Holy Week. For residents and visitors, it will be pleasing to once again welcome places and well-known faces, and we are part of that, and therefore applaud it and report it in our news. And we also report, and not always applauding it, the state of some infrastructures and access points to the resort. A luxury residential complex must take care of every detail. Have a look at the roundabouts in the area and the concern, which is well-grounded, over the end in the case of the bridge connecting the Marina area and the coastal area of the resort. However, we should also be full of pride and congratulate two renowned institutions, in this case educational, namely, Sotogrande International School and Colegio Patrocinio San José. Their commitment to quality education comes to fruition every year as they are selected among the 100 best schools in the country. Everything helps, and education and security are two issues that make a difference. Meanwhile, we should enjoy this Holy Week. We live in an outstanding place and we have a lot to do, try and taste. El Colegio Internacional de Sotogrande repite un año más su presencia en la distinguida lista que elabora el diario El Mundo en el que figuran los mejores colegios de España y en el que no podía faltar uno de los grandes referentes educativos de la región; lo hace en la categoría de centros internacionales. Sotogrande International School and Colegio San José, among 100 best in Spain The highest level of education, very present in Sotogrande and a stone´s throw from it. Once again this year, Sotogrande International School is back in the distinguished list produced by the newspaper El Mundo that features the best schools in Spain, and that could not miss out on the great educational benchmarks in the region; it appears in the international school category. On the other hand, and what is also good news for the area, the prestigious report that ranks the 100 best schools in the country, highlights Colegio Patrocinio San José (Estepona), which is attended by a large number of pupils from Sotogrande and Valle del Guadiaro, and is ranked no less than in 35th place, which makes
it the third best school in Andalusia and the leading school in the neighbouring province of Malaga (alongside Aloha College in the international sector). Sotogrande International School is now one of the regulars on this specialised list of schools, especially in its category and it achieves this thanks to its constant educational reinvention in order to raise the school level, it is classed as: private, secular and mixed. At present, it has 925 pupils enrolled, from more than 44 different nationalities, and it has more than one hundred teachers in order to give classes in a “multilingual” environment. In turn, Colegio San José appears on the distinguished list of the top one hundred national schools thanks to obtaining an overall score, according to the report, of 88 out of a possible total of 100; broken down into: Material resources (24 out of 27), Educational offer (31/34) and Teaching Model (33/39). The aspects highlighted about the Malaga school are its International Baccalaureate, the commitment to train young people towards success through raising awareness of a more civic and sustainable world; and it highlights aspects such as bilingualism and training in the plastic and visual arts and sport.

Un árbol de los Alcornocales, para Pueblo Nuevo ✑ Manuel Gil
La una iniciativa del ex-alumno y del hasta hace unas semanas presidente de la Junta Rectora del Parque Natural Los Alcornocales, el periodista Jorge Bezares, permite la plantación de un árbol (un alcornoque de unos 5 metros) del complejo en el patio del Colegio Gloria Fuertes, en Pueblo Nuevo de Guadiaro. La concejal de Educación del Ayuntamiento de San Roque, Belén Jiménez, ejerció de madrina en el acto. Con este gesto, Bezares ha querido agradecer el trato y la for-
mación que recibió en este colegio desde los 6 a los 14 años, antes de marchar al Instituto de San Roque y posteriormente a la Facultad. Con la iniciativa se pretende mostrar a los alumnos la importancia del cuidado del medio ambiente. Además, y como símbolo, Bezares introdujo entre las raíces del árbol un libro de la poetisa Gloria Fuertes, “para que las letras, los libros, abonen el árbol, como decía Unamuno”. Por último, Bezares, que se acordó en el acto de sus profe-

Cuarto detenidos por el hurto de relojes de alta gama en la zona de Sotogrande Agentes de la Guardia Civil, del Puesto Principal de Guadiaro, detuvieron a cuatro personas autoras de cinco delitos de hurto mediante el método del “abrazo cariñoso”. Los detenidos, dos hombres y dos mujeres, de nacionalidad rumana y con amplio historial delictivo, actuaban en las zonas de San Enrique de Guadiaro, Pueblo Nuevo de Guadiaro, Torreguadiaro y Puerto de Sotogrande. Se acercaban a las víctimas y en agradecimiento a la información solicitada lo abrazaban, aprovechando para sustraerle el reloj, sin que la víctima se percatara de lo ocurrido. Sustrajeron 5 relojes de la marca Rolex, valorados entre 800 y 27.600 euros. Llegaban en un vehículo y tras seleccionar a las víctimas, hombres que portaban relojes de alta gama, se bajaba una de las mujeres que iban en la parte trasera, mientras que el resto esperaba en el interior, y se acercaba a la víctima elegida utilizando cualquier excusa para entablar conversación. Una vez ganada la confianza en agradecimiento a la información facilitada le abrazaba , aprovechando para sustraerle el reloj que llevaba, sin que la víctima lo advirtiera hasta instantes después de que la autora despareciera del lugar. Mediante este método llegaron a consumar 5 hurtos, en los que sustrajeron 5 relojes de la marca ROLEX, cuyos precios oscilaban desde los 800 a los 27.600 euros. Las investigaciones llevada a cabo, permitieron la identificación del vehículo que utilizaban y de los ocupantes del mismo, estableciendo dispositivos de vigilancia en las zonas susceptibles de acometer los delitos. Es en uno de estos dispositivos establecidos en colaboración con los Vigilantes de Seguridad del Puerto de Sotogrande, cuando detectaron el vehículo entrando en el recinto, procediendo a la interceptación del mismo y a la detención de sus cuatro ocupantes, dos hombres y dos mujeres. La Guardia Civil continua la investigación para la recuperación de los relojes.

Civil Guard agents, from the Main Unit in Guadiaro, arrested four people as the perpetrators of five thefts using the “friendly hug” method. The arrested persons, two men and two women, of Romanian nationality with extensive criminal backgrounds, acted in the areas of San Enrique de Guadiaro, Pueblo Nuevo de Guadiaro, Torreguadiaro and Puerto de Sotogrande. They approached victims, and thanking them for the information requested they hugged them, using this chance to steal their watch, without the victim realising what had happened. They stole 5 Rolex watches, valued at between 800 and 27,600 Euros. They would turn up in a vehicle and after selecting the victims, men wearing high-end watches, one of the women in the back would get out while the rest stayed in the vehicle. She would approach the victim using any excuse to start a conversation. Having earned their trust, in appreciation of the information obtained she would hug them, seizing this opportunity to steal the watch they had on, without the victim realising until moments after the perpetrator had disappeared from the area. Using this method, they method they managed to carry out 5 robberies, in which they stole 5 ROLEX watches, whose prices ranged from 800 to 27,600 Euros. El departamento de técnicos, del Ayuntamiento de San Roque, realizaron una primera estimación económica de los daños causados por el reciente temporal, que se eleva a 2.132.000 euros. Esta información fue remitida este mediodía a la Junta de Andalucía, de cara a la aprobación de líneas de ayudas a los ayuntamientos, y se enviará a otras administraciones con el mismo fin. “Hace unos días –apuntó el delegado de Urbanismo, Juan Manuel Ordóñez- hicimos las primeras estimaciones, pero ahora estamos cerrando de manera más concreta el coste real de las incidencias. Añadió Ordóñez que “la primera administración que ha pedido una valoración para acogernos a posibles subvenciones ha sido la Junta de Andalucía, pero estamos a la espera de que se nos reclame esta información de otras administraciones, como Diputación y

Recordar que si bien tras el temporal de enero, de manera municipal ya se reclamó una actuación similar, ahora también sería necesario pese a casos como el de la playa de Sotogrande, en la franja del Club de Playa, en la que el propio temporal ha permitido una mayor abertura y descongestión de sedimentos en la desembocadura del río Guadiaro y un arrastre de arena hacia dicho segmento de costa. Sanz explicó que había recibido la demandada de más de 24 municipios gaditanos y que “todo va a ser estudiado por Demarcación de Costas”. Remarcó algunas actuaciones más “urgentes” aunque también puntualizó próximas actuaciones en las playas de Tarifa, San Roque (zona de la Bahía, con importantes desperfectos, también incluida), Algeciras y La Línea. Nuevo ministro de Economía Si analizamos el reemplazo de Luis de Guindos por Román Escolano convendría recordar una famosa locución latina: cui prodest. Es decir, ¿quién se beneficia? No está claro que se beneficie España, porque no sabemos qué políticas impulsará Escolano, ni qué cosas hará Guindos en el Banco Central Europeo. Cabría argumentar que se benefician ambos economistas: después de todo, siempre es un honor ser ministro, y tampoco está nada mal dejar de serlo para ocupar un puesto tan importante como la vicepresidencia del BCE. ✑ Carlos Rodríguez Braun Economista / Economist

En estas elecciones la recuperación de la economía será una baza crucial para el PP. Pero esa baza tiene que ser aprovechada por quien se presenta a las elecciones, no por un ministro, que distraería la atención del público hacia sus propios logros. Así, el máximo beneficio político se consigue quitando a Guindos del medio, llevándolo al BCE, y sustituyéndolo por una persona más gris, que no le podrá arrebatar a Rajoy, o al candidato que sea del PP, ni un rayo de luz entre los votantes.
El caso de Román Escolano es análogo. Se trata de un alto funcionario, es decir, de la típica persona que le gusta a Rajoy, porque es como él. Pero, además de contar con poca

However, that trump card must be used by whoever stands for the elections, not by a minister, which would distract the public´s attention towards their own achievements. Thus, the greatest political benefit is achieved by taking Guindos out of the picture, putting him in the ECB, and replacing him by someone who stands out less, who could not take power from Rajoy, or whoever the PP candidate is, not even a beam of light among voters.

Personal de la Delegación Municipal de Obras y Servicios está llevando a cabo la limpieza de los márgenes del camino a la playa de Torrecarbonera (conocida también con Alcaidesa-Faro). El objetivo, como siempre, dotar mayor visibilidad a los vehículos que transitan por la vía así como eliminar vegetación que en verano puede prenderse y originar un incendio. El teniente de alcalde delegado
de Obras y Servicios, José Antonio Rojas, señaló que “casi todos los años llevamos a cabo la limpieza y el desbroce del camino al Faro de la Alcaidesa, una vez conseguidos los permisos pertinentes de la Junta de Andalucía, ya que existen plantas autóctonas que hay que respetar”. “Se trata -continuó- de despejar los márgenes de la vía para que los vehículos que transitan por ella, sobre todo en la temporada

Llega la Semana Santa, arranca el buen clima y empieza a tomar fuerza el primer periplo importante en los registros índice turísticos en Sotogrande. Tradicionalmente supone la primera ventana del calendario en atracción y desembarco de residentes y visitantes habituales a la zona. Para ello, contar con unas infraestructuras y conexiones entre destinos de primera calidad se antoja cuanto menos indispensable para un mayor atractivo y comodidad en la llegada de turistas. Es de sobra conocido que muchos de ellos llegan desde el extranjero o de puntos del país de larga distancia pero no pocos son los que se desplazan asiduamente desde la Costa del Sol (incluyendo en este apartado el considerable grupo de los llegados desde el Aeropuerto de Málaga), para los que la conexión más directa hacia Sotogrande es la AP – 7 o bien la A-7 por la costa. Teniendo que optar en este caso por una de estas dos vías: bien por el desplazamiento de pago por la autopista (en el que tendrá que atravesar hasta tres tramos de peaje) o por la A-7, tradicional. Destacando el más que notable incremento de tráfico existente en la autovía durante fechas ‘especiales’ (periodos estimados como vacacionales). Además, muchos son los conductores que alejados del turismo, por labores profesionales unen estos dos puntos en varias ocasiones cada semana e incluso de manera diaria.
Opción de la AP - 7 El desplazamiento que une Sotogrande con Málaga, vía autopista, con un vehículo turismo al uso presenta dos cantidades muy diferentes (en la suma de los tres tramos de peaje), según el momento de la temporada. Con la tarifa normal, el precio entre Sotogrande y Málaga sería de 9,55 euros (19,10 euros, ida y vuelta), repartidos entre: Málaga-Marbella (4,60 euros); Marbella-Estepona (3,15 euros); y Estepona-Guadiaro (1,80 euros). Estas tarifas, en balance con periodos anteriores (18,80 euros), sufren un incremento de coste. Mientras que en temporada ‘especial’ (Semana Santa y los meses de junio a septiembre), el
precio en el mismo trayecto se dispara hasta los 15,55 euros, suponiendo en un desplazamiento de ida y vuelta hasta los 31,10 euros (30,50 euros en 2017). Un precio más que considerable, repartido entre: Málaga-Marbella (7,50 euros); ;Marbella-Estepona (5,10 euros); y Estepona-Guadiaro (2,95 euros). Remarcar también respecto a periodos anteriores un leve crecimiento en precio de sus tramos. Bien es cierta la comodidad con la que el conductor realiza el trayecto a través de la autopista, con mayor rapidez (aunque no de manera tan significativa respecto al precio) aunque su coste empuja a muchos personas a optar por la A-7 para cubrir el desplazamiento. encuentra operativa los meses de junio, julio, agosto, septiembre y durante las jornadas de Semana Santa. Opción de la A-7 La carretera es altamente transitada, debido a que une todos los municipios costeros y que en muchos de sus tramos se trata de una Nacional con sólo dos carriles y estrechas curvas en las que llegan a encontrarse limitaciones de hasta 80 kilómetros por hora. Otro de los puntos más incómodos para los conductores en dicho trayecto son las numerosas salidas y entradas a las urbanizaciones, con carriles de aceleración muy cortos y en ocasiones ni eso, lo que obliga a los vehículos que transitan por el carril derecho a numerosos frenazos forzados y a un nivel de exigencia de atención muy superior al de la autopista. Siendo especialmente notable en el tramo entre Estepona y Guadiaro en el que el elevado número de rotondas y secciones con limitación a 80 kms/h hacen aún más compleja la conducción en ese tramo. Comodidad para el visitante La importancia de contar con un buen sistema de conexiones por carreteras con los principales
puntos de acceso a Sotogrande desde lugares claves, como son la Costal del Sol, que también enlaza con otras carreteras muy transitadas del resto de España, es clave para fomentar el fácil acceso de turismo a la zona. Como dato, tomar el último balance registrado por el Club de Automovilistas Europeos Asociados (AEA ) y publicaciones especializadas, dos de los tramos de la AP-7 siguen apareciendo cerca del ‘Top 10’ de tramos más caros de España. Concretamen-
te, en el puesto doce a aparecería el tramo de Málaga-Estepona; mientras que en el trece figuraría el de Estepona-Guadiaro; ambos de obligado cumplimiento para enlazar la capital malagueña con Sotogrande y con un coste similar, unos 0,14 euros el kilómetro, aproximadamente. En definitiva, contar con unas conexiones por carretera cómodas, ágiles y asequibles fomentan una más dinámica llegada de turistas y visitantes tanto de larga como de corta estancia.

Road link between Sotogrande and Costa del Sol is increasing cost for tourism season • With the particular period of Holy Week, a window opens for the special rate of the Costa del Sol polls which will subsequently remain active between the months of June and September (both inclusive). • In 2018 the cost of the different toll points is rising slightly, with some stretches costing 0.14 Euros/km. (approx.). • The cost of a return journey between Sotogrande and Malaga along the road surpasses 31 Euros during the high season. • The most traditional road, the A-7, considerably multiplies its traffic during summer and special periods, which increases the inconvenience of driving and increases the risk of danger behind the wheel. Holy Week is here, the good climate is arriving and the first important period for the tourist figures records in Sotogrande is beginning to gain momentum. Traditionally, it is the first window of the year that attracts and sees the arrival of residents and regular visitors to the area. To that end, having top quality infrastructures and connections between destinations becomes even more important for greater appeal and comfort for the arrival of tourists. It is very well-known that many of them come from abroad or from long-distance points, however there is still a significant number that come regularly from the Costa del Sol (including in this regard, the considerable group of arrivals from Malaga Airport) for whom the most direct connection with Sotogrande is either the AP-7 or the A-7 along the coast. In this case it is necessary to opt for one of these routes: either through paid travel along the motorway (where it is necessary to go through three tolls) or along the traditional A-7. It is necessary to highlight the very notable increase in traffic on the main road during “spe-
cial” dates (periods such as holidays). Furthermore, there are any drivers with nothing to do with tourism, travel between these two points several times each week and even on a daily basis. Option of the AP-7 The journey that connects Sotogrande with Malaga, via motorway, with a standard passenger car has two very different amounts (for the sum
of the three toll stretches), depending on the period of the season. With the normal rate, the price between Sotogrande and Malaga would be 9.55 Euros (19.10 Euros, return trip), split between: Malaga-Marbella (4.60 Euros); Marbella-Estepona (3.15 Euros); and Estepona-Guadiaro (1.80 Euros). These rates, in comparison with previous periods (18.80), have risen. However, during the “special” season (Holy Week and the months from June to September), the price on the same journey shoots up to 15.55 Euros, which means that a return trip costs up to 31.10 Euros (30.50 Euros in 2017). This is a very considerable price, split between: Malaga-Marbella (7.50 Euros); Marbella-Estepona (5.10 Euros); and Estepona-Guadiaro (2.95 Euros). In relation to previous periods, it is also worth highlighting a slight increase in the price of its stretches. It is well known that it is convenient for drivers that make the journey via the motorway, which is quicker (although not significantly in relation to
price), however its cost leads many people to opt for the A-7 in order to cover this trip. This rate is in force during the months of June, July, August, September and during the days of Holy Week. Option of the A-7 The road receives a lot of traffic, due to the fact that it connects all of the coastal municipalities and the fact that that on many of its stretches it is a National road with only two lanes and narrow bends where speed limits are 80 km per hour. Another of the most inconvenient points for drivers on that journey are the numerous exits and entrances to resorts, with very short acceleration lanes and sometimes not even that, which forces the vehicles travelling along the straight lane to make several forced brakes, and a level of attention much higher than that needed on the motorway. The stretch between Estepona and Guadiaro is especially notable, with a high number of roundabout and sections with an 80 km/hr speed limit, that make driving on this stretch even more complex.
Convenience for visitors The importance of having a good system of road connections with the main access points to Sotogrande from key places, such as the Costa del Sol, that also links up with other very busy roads in the rest of Spain, is crucial in order to encourage easy tourism access to the area. As a piece of data, the last assessment recorded by the European Motorists Associates Club (AEA) and specialised publications, two of the stretches of the AP-7 continue to appear close to the “Top 10” of the most expensive stretches in Spain. Specifically, the Malaga-Estepona stage appears in twelfth place; while the Estepona-Guadiaro stretch is in thirteenth; both must be travelled on in order to go from the capital of Malaga with Sotogrande and with a similar cost, around 0.14 Euros per kilometre, approximately. Ultimately, having road connections that are convenient, quick and affordable encourage a more dynamic of tourists and visitors, for both long and short stays.

¿Cómo despega la temporada turística en la zona a nivel de atractivos y de actividad comercial? Con la llegada de la Semana Santa, en esta edición de ‘La Ventana de Opinión’ de El Periódico de Sotogrande hemos querido interesarnos por ver cómo analizan este inicio del
primer periplo vacacional del año en diferentes sectores (públicos y privados). Queríamos conocer diferentes prismas y opiniones para analizar en qué estado ven algunos de los agen-

The 2018 Pilgrimage of San Roque begins to take its first steps Various municipal departments and the Pilgrims Association of San Roque participated in a preparatory meeting for the 2018 Pilgrimage of San Roque, which will take place on 21 and 22 April. Una imagen, como reza el viejo dicho, siempre vale más que cualquier palabra por elocuente que parezca. Y es que con la llegada del periplo de Semana Santa, llama la atención a la hora de acometer los diferentes accesos que tiene la urbanización la desigualdad (obvia por las competencias en su gestión), que guardan las diferentes zonas y enclaves. Por ello, hemos querido realizar en este reportaje gráfico para ilustrar los contrastes. Si se comienza viaje exprés por la entrada al Puerto Deportivo y Marina de Sotogrande, se ve claramente la mano de las enti-
dades que gestionan de manera privada la zona. Al pasar por la marina, sus accesos, zonas ajardinadas y demás remarcan la presencia del REM en su conservación. Igual pasa al cruzar el puente, en todas las intersecciones se ve la mano de la Entidad Urbanística de Conservación Parques de Sotogrande. Resaltar que hemos prescindido en el reportaje del subsector de La Reserva Club al permanecer aún en proceso de desarrollo. El gran problema y agravio llega al contemplar las rotondas y accesos a la urbanización que cuenta con competencias de la Red de Carreteras Estatal. El
desbroce, cuidado y mantenimiento de estas (así como de márgenes y arcenes) es prácticamente anual y no se encuentra a la altura del resto de componentes de la urbanización. Cierto es que pese a los esfuerzo por diferentes entidades de la zona de asumir (en materia de adecentamiento) las vías de servicio y rotondas de accesos, ésta senda aún no ha podido ser transitada. Quedando una imagen desoladora y desértica que poco avala la presencia tras la entrada de una gran urbanización residencial de lujo. Cuestión a mejorar. Una imagen, siempre vale más que mil palabras.

The contrasts of Sotogrande The positive and negative sides of the landscapes areas, roundabouts, intersections and accesses are striking for their disparate appearance, maintenance and care As the old saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words, no matter how eloquent the words may be. And the fact is that with the arrival of the Holy Week period, it is striking when it comes to dealing with the different accesses to the resort, that there is a disparity (obvious due to the responsibilities for their management) between the different areas and locations. To that end, we wanted to produce this visual report in order to illustrate the contrasts. If we begin the journey heading straight to the Sports Port and Sotogrande Marina, it is clear how this is work of the entities that privately manage the area. Walking through the marina, its accesses, landscaped areas and others, the presence of REM in their conservation is clear. The same occurs when you cross the bridge, in all of the intersections you can see the work of the Urban Conservation Entity for the
Parks of Sotogrande. It is worth highlighting that in this report we have not included the sub-sector of La Reserva Club as it is still under development. The big problem and grievance comes when we look at the roundabout and accesses to the resort which are the responsibility of the State Road Network. The clearing, care and maintenance of them (as well as the margins and hard shoulders) is practically annual and does not match the standards of the other areas of the resort. It is true that despite the effort by different entities in the area to tackle (in terms of improvements) the service roads and access roundabouts, it has still not been possible to get to this road. It leaves a desolate and deserted image that really does not match its location behind the entrance of a great luxury residential resort. It is an issue to be improved. An image is always worth a thousand words.

Cortado el tránsito en el puente que enlaza Sotogrande y La Marina El fuerte temporal pronuncia aún más las grietas a lo largo de la calzada y mantiene desde el 18 de marzo prohibido el paso peatonal y de tráfico 1 Manuel Gil
Precaución, ante todo. En la tarde-noche del pasado domingo, 18 de marzo, se llevó a cabo el corte total del tránsito (tanto peatonal como de tráfico), en el puente que conecta La Marina de Sotogrande y el puerto deportivo con la zona baja de la urbanización (conocida como la de los Reyes y Reinas). La Policía Local de San Roque informó a la Entidad Urbanística de Conservación Parques de Sotogrande de esta medida cautelar, que se mantiene vigente en estos momentos, a causa de que las grietas, que ya presentaban las juntas que conforman la estructura del puente, se habían acentuado notablemente en los últimos días con motivo del fuerte temporal
de viento y agua. Una cuestión, precisamente, que este periódico ya había denunciado en su edición de papel en diferentes ocasiones y que esta vez ha provocado el corte total del tránsito en el puente, obligando a rodear la urbanización para acceder y enlazar ambas zonas. Si bien, el aumento de las grietas que presenta la calzada no es excesivamente alarmante y todo indica de que en un corto periodo de tiempo estará nuevamente abierto al tráfico la vía; es una cuestión para analizar de fondo (a medio y largo plazo). Es profundamente necesario diagnosticar la situación y estado real en el que se encuentra el puente;
así como estudiar qué acciones tomar al respecto, a nivel de seguridad y futuro, para que no vuelva a repetirse esta situación. Por su parte, a la espera de nuevas indicaciones, la EUC tiene establecido un dispositivo de control e información en el acceso al puente desde el Paseo del Parque y permanece a la espera de los informes y actuaciones que se tomen por parte de los responsables y técnicos municipales que han valorado la situación sobre el terreno. Según confirmó el primer teniente de alcalde y delegado de Urbanismo, Juan Manuel Ordóñez, “nuestros técnicos creen que, a priori, no existen daños estructurales en el puente. Parece ser que
la junta de dilatación está marcada más de lo habitual”. Añadió que “además de los técnicos de Urbanismo, estamos contando con la opinión de Bomberos y también se va a consultar a una empresa especializada para deci-
dir si al final se reabre al tráfico. Aunque así se decida finalmente, quiero señalar que vamos a seguir estudiando el asunto y observando el puente, para tomar siempre la decisión más acertada”.

what actions to take on the issue, in terms of security and the future, to ensure that this situation is not repeated. In turn, awaiting new instructions, the UCE has established a control and information operation for access to the bridge from Paseo del Parque and the it is still awaiting the reports and actions to be taken by municipal officials and technicians that assessed the situation in-situ. According to the deputy mayor and delegate for Urban Planning, Juan Manuel Ordóñez, “our tech-
nicians believe that, at first sight, there is no structural damage to the bridge. It seems that the expansion joint is more pronounced than usual”. He added that, “in addition to the Urban Planning technicians, we are evaluating the opinion of Firemen, and a specialised company will also be consulted in order to decide if traffic is ultimately reopened. Even if that is finally decided, I want to point out that we will continue to study the issue and observe the bridge, in order to always take the best decision”.

Destacada presencia de agentes turísticos de la zona en la ITB de Berlín ✑ Manuel Gil
La oferta turística local, muy presente en feria ITB de Berlín que se celebro hasta el 11 de marzo en suelo germano. La Delegación Municipal de Turismo, junto a otras empresas de la zona referentes del sector, mantuvieron estos días una intensa agenda de actividades con los principales touroperadores y agentes internacionales del sector para la promoción de los atractivos y valores del municipio. Además de los técnicos municipales de Turismo, el mostrador de San Roque estuvo atendido por Ana Berbel, de Alcaidesa Golf Resort; y David Pedreño y Ana Torres,
de Sotogrande SA (Almenara Golf Hotel & La Reserva Club). La ITB es una de las ferias más importantes del mundo en la industria del turismo y viaje, en la que se presenta todas las novedades y tendencias del sector. Además, es la plataforma de negocios para la oferta turística global, donde países, regiones, ciudades del mundo, hoteles y muchos otros proveedores presentan sus productos y servicios. Se lleva a cabo en el recinto Messe Berlín, que cuenta con 160 mil metros cuadrados para exposición, donde se espera la participación de 10 mil expositores

Hoy, tu problema tiene Mediación “Cecilia es celosa, se lo anunció a Juan desde el principio. A él hasta le hizo gracia la idea y trató de complacerla en todo, incluso cuándo no entendía que le molestaran tanto algunos detalles. Pasó el tiempo, Juan empezó a agobiarse y tomó distancia. Cecilia, en respuesta, sentía celos de cada vez más personas. Ambos han vivido relaciones anteriores que han terminado desestabilizándoles un montón y Juan, además, es padre de un niño. De vacaciones, los tres juntos, hablaban de futuro pero las dudas teñían de feo el ambiente. Decidieron acudir a mediación. Las sesiones fueron divertidas. Fue interesante reflexionar sobre la fidelidad, lealtad, sexo, amor, salud, hogar...Tomaron conciencia de que daban significados distintos a conceptos que les ilusionaban o les daban miedo. Hablaron sin sentirse juzgados y con ayuda para hacerlo con total libertad y, comprobando, que no pasa nada malo por hacerlo. Hoy se ríen de temas que eran tabú en su relación. Saben que la mediación está a su disposición para resolver problemas por sí mismos y Cecilia ha acompañado este proceso con una terapia psicológica para entender el origen de sus celos y temores. Han crecido como pareja y ahora se comunican mejor que antes”.

“Cecilia is jealous, she told Juan from the beginning. The idea amused him and he tried to please her with everything, even when he did not understand how she could be so annoyed by some details. They talked without feeling judged and with assistance to do so with total freedom and, seeing that nothing bad happened when they did so. Now, they laugh at issues that were a taboo in their relationship. They know that mediation is available to help them resolve problems themselves and Cecilia has combined this process with psychological therapy in order to understand the origin of her jealousy and fears. They have grown as a couple and communicate better than before”. Campo de Gibraltar El Pleno ratifica el acuerdo entre Consistorio y Mancomunidad para el agua y gestión de residuos 1 M. Gil
El Salón de Sesiones del Palacio de los Gobernadores acogió el Pleno Ordinario de la Corporación correspondiente al mes de febrero. Asistieron todos los ediles, y el Pleno finalizó por imperativo legal a las 00:00 horas sin que hubiera finalizado el turno de Ruegos y Preguntas. Entre los aspectos más importantes para la zona, destacar el punto 4; referente a ordenación territorial y a Sotogrande; y en el punto 9, de mociones presentadas, la aprobación del convenio marco con la Mancomunidad para continuar con la gestión del agua y los residuos. Se aprobó con los votos a favor de PSOE, PP y PA y la abstención de SSP y PIVG; el Estudio de Detalle de las parcelas XIX, XX y XXI del Plan Parcial de los Subsectores 52 y 53, Sotogrande, T.M. San Roque. El Estudio de Detalle se aprobó inicialmente en octubre de 2014. Afecta a una superficie de más de 56.000 metros cuadrados, de los que 46.000 son propiedad del Ayuntamiento y el resto de la empresa March de Inversiones, la cual ha reclamado
al Ayuntamiento la necesidad de dotar de acceso a la parcela de su propiedad. El Estudio de Detalle presentado tiene como objeto la ordenación de volúmenes y definición de alineaciones y rasantes en las parcelas resultantes de la ordenación, así́ como reajustar las alineaciones de las parcelas motivado por la ejecución del carril bici por la administración autonómica, así como dar acceso adecuado a las parcelas resultantes de la ordenación con la introducción de las vías secundarias y de servicio necesarias para acceder adecuadamente desde la actual carretera A-2100. La Entidad Urbanística de Conservación Parques de Sotogrande presentó alegaciones al proyecto, que fueron desestimadas. Por otro lado, se aprobó con los votos a favor de PSOE, PP y PA, el voto en contra del PIVG y la abstención del SSP; el Convenio Marco para la prestación de servicios públicos municipales entre el Ayuntamiento y la Mancomunidad. Así, se autoriza al alcalde la firma del mismo; y también se suspende de-
finitivamente y se archivan los acuerdos de junio de 2017 adoptados por el Pleno relativos a la recuperación de los servicios de abastecimiento, saneamiento y depuración de aguas así́ como de recogida de residuos. En el acuerdo entre Ayuntamiento y Mancomunidad se recogen los tres objetivos del Equipo de Gobierno: abaratar el servicio de agua y basura, prestar un mejor servicio a los ciudadanos, y mantener el carácter público de la empresa mancomunada. Así, los sanroqueños no deberán abonar los primeros 20 metros cúbicos de agua consumida; se garantiza que el servicio seguirá siendo prestado por una empresa pública; y el Ayuntamiento podrá inspeccionar los trabajos que se realicen por la empresa en el municipio. Además, se incluyen inversiones por parte de Arcgisa, tanto en la mejora de las redes de suministro de agua potable y saneamiento, como en la renovación de la flota de vehículos de la recogida de residuos sólidos urbanos.

It was attended by all the councillors, and the Plenary ended by legal requirement at midnight without having reached the Questions and Answers section. Una nueva autovía en la comarca, una prioridad para el desarrollo 1 M. Gil
Desde el Consistorio de San Roque se instó una vez más a la importancia de una nueva vía para una mayor fluidez comarcal del tráfico. El alcalde de San Roque, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, salió para demandar la necesidad que tiene la comarca de una nueva autovía, que complemente la actual, “totalmente colapsada”, y se mostró partidario de retomar el proyecto de circunvalación elaborado en 2011, en el que se garantizaba la integridad del Pinar del Rey. Entiende el alcalde que “el área del Campo de Gibraltar es un área metropolitana con más de 250 mil habitantes en el que la relación entre los municipios de La Línea, San Roque, Los Barrios y Algeciras hacen que tengamos una arteria principal, que se ha convertido prácticamente en una avenida entre los distintos pueblos como es la actual A7”. “Es una autovía -afirma el alcaldeque claramente se ha quedado pequeña, que está colapsada y que además ante el castigo continuado que tiene el Gobierno de España con nuestra tierra, que no realiza la Algeciras Bobadilla, hace que tengamos un tráfico pesado que sigue colapsando esa
carretera”. El alcalde recuerda que en esa autovía, “cuando hay un accidente, los vecinos sufrimos colas kilométricas, y es cuando nos acordamos de la necesidad de contar con otra variante, porque desgraciadamente es un punto negro”. Recuerda que “la A7 a su paso por la comarca estaba catalogada como el mayor punto negro de
Andalucía”, y ejemplo de ello es que en los últimos años accidente en los últimos años ha habido más de 300 accidentes, y del 2000 al 2015 ha habido cuatro fallecidos, y es una necesidad el contar con un nuevo trazado, con una nueva variante”. Ruiz Boix recuerda que “en el año 2009 cuando el Gobierno de España lo dirigía el Partido So-
cialista, cuando lo dirigía como presidente de Rodríguez Zapatero, el Ministerio de Fomento hizo una propuesta de trazado inicial que provocó una incertidumbre y un debate en la comarca y hubo una presentación de distintas alegaciones por parte de las administraciones, entre otras el Ayuntamiento de San Roque, y por parte de los ecologistas, y el
tratado inicial fue modificado”. Recordó esa campaña “que promovimos muchos sanroqueños de que el nuevo trazado ni pasara ni pisara por el Pinar del Rey, y eso provocó que el trazado del 2009 se modificarse por un nuevo trazado que se aprobó en el año 2011”. En 2011 “el trazado nuevo afecta a 17 kilómetros, que van desde el Casino de San Roque hacia la parte trasera del polígono Cortijo Real de Algeciras, trazado que ni pisa ni pasa por el Pinar del Rey”. El alcalde entiende que “la incertidumbre que está generando el grupo ecologista requerirá de encuentro para explicar el trazado”. Opina el alcalde que “una variante similar entre San Roque y Algeciras va a suponer una nueva revolución en el interior de la comarca del Campo de Gibraltar, porque va a acelerar los pasos para permitir una mayor fluidez en la propia carretera A7, que va a quedar

A new motorway in the region, a development priority The San Roque Town Council has once again insisted on the importance of a new road to help better traffic flow. The mayor of San Roque, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, came out to demand the need for a new motorway in the region, as a complement to the current “completely paralysed” one, and announced himself to be in favour of reviving the beltway project developed in 2011, which guaranteed the integrity of Pinar del Rey. The mayor states that “the area of the Campo de Gibraltar is a metropolitan area with more than 250 thousand inhabitants in which the connection between the municipa-
lities of La Linea, San Roque, Los Barrios and Algeciras provide a main artery, which has practically become an avenue between the different towns as is the current A7”. “This motorway,” said the mayor, “is clearly now too small, it is jammed up, and that also with the continuous assault of the Spanish government on our region, by not upgrading the Algeciras-Bobadilla, means that we have heavy traffic that continues blocking up this road.” The mayor reminded people that on this motorway, “when there is an accident, the residents suffer queues for many kilometres, and
that’s where we agree that we need to have an alternative, because unfortunately this is a black spot.” He says that “the section of the A7 that passes through our region was ranked as the biggest black spot in Andalusia, and as an example in recent years there have been more than 300 accidents, and between 2000 and 2015 there were four deaths, and therefore we need to have a new route, with a new alternative.” Ruiz Boix recalls that “In 2009 when the Spanish Government was led by the Socialist Party, with Rodríguez Zapatero as Prime Mi-
nister, the Ministry of Development made an initial proposal for a layout that provoked uncertainty and debate in the region, and there were different claims made on behalf of the administrations, including San Roque Town Council, and environmentalists, and the original proposal was amended.” He recalled that in this campaign “that many Sanroquenos insisted that the new route would not go through Pinar del Rey, and that meant that the 2009 was amended to a new route that was approved in 2011.” In 2011 “the new route affects 17 kilometres, going from the Ca-
sino de San Roque to the rear of the Cortijo Real Cortijo de Algeciras industrial zone, not touching Pinar del Rey at all.” The mayor understands that “the uncertainty that the environmental group is generating will require a meeting to explain the route.” The mayor believes that “a similar alternative between San Roque and Algeciras will lead to a new revolution in the region of Campo de Gibraltar, because it will accelerate the steps to allow for greater traffic flow on the A7, which is going to be a real avenue through the region, and an alternative outside it.”

Crece el Consorcio de Transporte Comarcal hasta el 1,21 millones de viajeros 1 M. Gil
El Consorcio de Transporte Metropolitano del Campo Gibraltar registró durante 2017 un total de 1.219.262 viajeros a través de la red de medios de transportes que lo integran, lo que implica un incremento de la demanda del 1% respecto al año anterior. De enero a diciembre de 2017, los autobuses interurbanos, que son los que conectan los municipios que conforman el área metropolitana del Campo de Gibraltar, fueron el medio más usado por los ciudadanos, sumando un total de 1.210.562 viajes, lo que representa un alza del 1,4% con respecto a 2016. Por su parte, la red de autobuses urbanos transportó en esos doce meses a 8.700 personas a través del uso de la tarjeta de transporte de los consorcios. Resaltar también el creciente número de tarjetas de viaje del Consorcio de Transporte Metropolitano del Campo de Gibraltar, a cierre de 2017 el número ascendía a 32.440 títulos de viaje, lo que re-

presenta un crecimiento del 11,4% con respecto a 2016, equivalente a 3.712 nuevos títulos expedidos. Esta tarjeta supone ventajas para los viajeros, ya que este sistema de pago aplica descuentos de en torno a un 30% sobre el precio del billete sencillo y de aproximadamente un 40% en los transbordos. A diciembre de 2017, los viajeros de este consorcio realizaron 95.044 operaciones de venta, recarga y consultas de tarjetas en los 62 puntos de venta existentes en estos ámbitos metropolitanos,

El Consistorio implantará un ‘vivero de empresas’ en Pueblo Nuevo ✑ M. Gil
El alcalde de San Roque, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, junto al teniente de alcalde de Contratación, Óscar Ledesma, anunciaron la firma de sendos contratos de obras con la empresa Fajosa: uno para la construcción del Vivero de Empresas de Pueblo Nuevo de Guadiaro, y otra para las obras de remodelación en la barriada de la Paz. El importe total supera los 800.000 euros. En Pueblo Nuevo de Guadiaro, “va a suponer una inversión de casi 600 mil euros para este espacio que va a estar a disposición de los autónomos, y de los pe-
queños y medianos empresarios que precisen de una ubicación”. Reconoció que el “edificio Playa Mayor lleva décadas en estado ruinoso, afeando una barriada que cada vez tiene mayor actividad empresarial y comercial, y el Ayuntamiento de San Roque va a cumplir con los requerimientos que tiene para otros propietarios, rehabilitando ese edificio”. Se trata de la adaptación de una construcción existente para destinarla a centro de empresas. El edificio, de tres plantas, está actualmente cerrado y se encuentra en la Plaza Mayor de la barria-
da, en la zona de equipamientos existentes: polideportivo, iglesia y colegio. El proyecto pretende dar satisfacción a los siguientes requisitos: dotar a la zona de un edificio que posibilite el arranque y asentamiento de nuevas empresas en sus inicios, habilitando lo necesario para el desarrollo de sus actividades. En tal sentido se dispone de despachos independientes, aulas, salas de usos múltiples y administración.

Pesar por el fallecimiento de Antonio Martín de Santiago-Concha ✑ M. Gil
Pesar en el seno de la urbanización de Sotogrande por la triste noticia del fallecimiento, a los 99 años de edad, de Antonio Martín de Santiago-Concha, Marqués de Linares, persona de reconocido prestigio nacional y especialmente admirado y querido en Sotogrande. En la actualidad, era titular de la licencia de golf decana de la Comunidad de Madrid, tercer federado de España y el más antiguo del Real Club de la Puerta de Hierro. Guigo”, conocido así por su familia y amigos, formó parte de la directiva del club madrileño durante diez años a partir de 1.962. En el año 2014, Martín de Santiago-Concha fue galardonado con la Medalla de Oro al Mérito por la Federación de Golf de Madrid. Sus
conocimientos y experiencia fueron igualmente decisivos para sentar las bases del Real Club de Sotogrande, al que aportó su sabiduría durante cinco años. El Consejo Rector y los empleados de la Entidad Urbanística de Conservación Parques de Sotogrande quisieron transmitir, sumándose a las condolencias del resto de la comunidad, un “profundo agradecimiento por su labor y entrega a esta Urbanización y transmitir a su familia el más sentido pésame y el mayor de los reconocimientos”. This is about adapting a current building in order to use it as a company centre. The three-storey building is currently closed and is located in Plaza Mayor in the building, in the area of existing facilities: sports centre,
church and school. The project aims to satisfy the following requirements: provide the area with a building that enables new businesses to start up and consolidate themselves, by providing them with what they need to carry out their activities. There is sorrow in the heart of the Sotogrande resort following the sad news of the death, at the age of 99, of Antonio Martín de Santiago-Concha, Marquis of Linares, a person of renowned national prestige and especially admired and loved in Sotogrande. He held, the golf license of the Community of Madrid, was the third oldest federated player in Spain and the oldest at Real Club de la Puerta de Hierro. “Guigo”, as he was known by his family and friends, formed part of the management of the Madrid club for ten years, from 1962 on. In 2014, Martín de Santiago-Concha was awarded the Golf Medal of Merit by the Madrid Golf Federation. His knowledge
and experience were equally decisive for laying the foundations of Real Club de Sotogrande, to which he contributed his knowledge during five years. The Governing Council and the employees of the Urban Conservation Entity for the the Parks of Sotogrande, wanted to add their voices to the condolences of the rest of the community and express their “profound appreciation for his work and dedication to this Resort and convey their most heartfelt condolences and greatest recognition to his family”. His endless number of roles throughout his life included that of having served as President of this Resort, and he always had an exemplary presence in its future.

Semanas de fuerte temporal, tanto en Sotogrande como en el resto del país, que casi arrasan con todo. Durante estas últimas semanas, la fuerza de los diferentes temporales (Emma, Gisele, etc.); han dejado en la zona imágenes de considerable preocupación. Si bien, a resaltar por las diferentes administraciones, las infraestructuras a excepción del puente que une el puerto con la zona baja de la urbanización (que tuvo que ser cortado por precaución); resistieron notablemente pese a soportar lluvias y vientos de más de 100 kms/ h.

Festival de arte dramático en SIS ✑ Redacción
La Sotogrande International School se enorgullece de haber acogido, este febrero, al Festival Connect de arte dramático de Bachillerato de la ISTA (siglas en inglés de la Asociación de Teatro de Escuelas Internacionales). El objetivo de la ISTA es reunir a jóvenes,artistas y profesores de diferentes países en entornos diversos para que experimenten y aprendan sobre arte dramático, cultura y nuestra comunidad global. En esta ocasión, se unieron a nosotros 89 alumnos de 6 escuelas internacionales, además de los residentes del Hogar Betania (una asociación local sin ánimo de lucro que ofrece ayuda a las personas socialmente excluídas). Durante 3 días, 4 artistas de teatro profesionales del ISTA dirigieron
juntos varios talleres en los que se exploraba el concepto “El hogar es…”. Los estudiantes tenían que encontrar la manera de conectar entre ellos y crear significados sin comunicarse verbalmente. Utilizaron el arte dramático como idioma de comunicación entre culturas, y eso permitió a alumnos y público vivir una experiencia inspiradora y catártica. La colaboración de los artistas locales fue clave para convertir este
evento en un evento comunitario. Drama Festival at SIS Sotogrande International School was proud to host the ISTA (International Schools Theatre Association) High School Drama Connect Festival in February. ISTA ’s aim is to bring together young people, artists and teachers from different countries in different settings to experience and learn about theatre, culture and our global community. For the event, we were joined by 89 students from 6 international schools and residents from Hogar Betania (a local not-for-profit association, who provide assistance to people in situations of social exclusion). Over the course of the 3 days, 5 ISTA professional theatre artists delivered ensemble
workshops exploring the concept of ´Home is…´ Students looked into how we can connect with one another and create meaning through non-verbal communication. Through using theatre as the language for communicating across cultures, our students and audience were provided with an inspiring and cathartic experience. The collaboration of local artists helped to make this a real community event. Reynard Productions led hands on filming workshops, Gibraltarian artist, Nathan Conroy, provided an inspirational workshop on ‘Movement and Stomp’ and our multi-talented SIS teachers led an incredibly dynamic session
on Spanish Sevillianas. The process itself created many magical moments of intercultural interchange and the level of commitment and skill from all students involved was incredible. Later in the month many of the Sotogrande School students involved went on to attend a similar ISTA event at JFK school in Berlin, where again their motivation, passion and talent as drama students clearly shone. We would like to thank the students that participated, the audience that attended, the parents that hosted the visiting schools and to all those behind the scenes that helped make this an unforgettable event.

Declaración de la Renta 2017: calendario y novedades IRPF 2017 CONTASULT, S.L. comunica el inicio de la campaña de presentación de la campaña de presentación de la Declaración de la Renta sobre Personas Físicas 2017. A partir del próximo 4 de Abril se habilita la posibilidad de presentar la declaración de la renta vía web o telefónica, finalizando la campaña el próximo 2 de Julio. Sin embargo, se fija el de 27 de junio de 2018 como fecha límite para presentar las declaraciones a ingresar mediante domiciliación bancaria. Como novedad importante, tenemos este año el lanzamiento, por
parte de la Agencia Tributaria de una APP, ya disponible desde el pasado 15 de Marzo, que nos permitirá acceder a los datos fiscales y al número de referencia. Lo cual facilitará enormemente la recopilación de los datos fiscales de cada contribuyente en posesión de la Agencia Tributaria. En esta campaña no se enviarán SMS con el número de referencia. En su lugar, será preciso rellenar el DNI, fecha de caducidad del mismo y la casilla 450 de la declaración de la Renta 2016. Se modifica el Reglamento de IRPF en relación con el mínimo
familiar por descendientes, se eleva el importe exento de las becas públicas, se incrementa la cuantía diaria exenta de las fórmulas indirectas de prestación del servicio de comedor, se incluyen cambios en relación con los seguros de enfermedad satisfechos a personas con discapacidad y se modifica la obligación de suministro de información por operaciones de reducción de capital con devolución de aportaciones o de distribución de prima de emisión. Otra novedad es que, para facilitar al contribuyente la subsanación
de errores que le perjudiquen, reducir las cargas administrativas y, al tiempo, permitir a la Administración tributaria resolver con mayor celeridad, se consolida la utilización del propio modelo de declaración para presentar una solicitud de rectificación de autoliquidación. 2017 Income Declaration - Calendar and New features for 2017 Income Tax Declaration CONTASULT, S.L is announcing the start of the campaign for presenting the 2017 Personal Income Tax Declaration. From 4 April it will be possible to present the declaration via web or telephone, and the campaign will conclude on 2 July. However, 27 June 2018 has been established as the cut-off point for presenting declarations to be paid via bank direct debit. As an important new feature, this year the Tax Authority has launched an APP, available since 15 March, that will enable you to access tax data and the reference number. This will greatly assist the collection of the tax data for each tax payer that is held by the Tax Agency. During this campaign SMS
messages with the reference number will not be sent. Instead, it will be necessary to fill out the National Identity
Number, the expiry date of it and box 450 on the 2016 Income Declaration. The Personal Income Regulation

La Red de Bibliotecas de San Roque organiza el IV Concurso de Fotografía “Instantes de Lectura” con el objetivo de fomentar la creatividad plástica y artística dentro del ámbito de la lectura en todos sus aspectos y dimensiones. La finalidad del concurso es seleccionar 13 instantáneas relacionadas con la lectura para su posterior publicación en el Calendario de la Lectura 2019 de la Red de Bibliotecas. El plazo de admisión de originales (en formato digital) finaliza el 5 de octubre de 2018. En las bases del IV Concurso de Fotografía “Instantes de Lectura” se recoge que cada concursante podrá presentar un máximo de tres fotografías relacionadas con el tema propuesto: “Instantes de
lectura”. Se trata de reflejar el mundo de la lectura en cualquiera de sus dimensiones: humana, educativa, cultural, recreativa, familiar, social, etc. Deberán ser fotografías inéditas y que no hayan resultado seleccionadas en cualquier otro certamen o concurso, y podrán presentarse en formato electrónico con una resolución mínima de 300 píxeles por pulgada, en el correo electrónico: concursofotografia@sanroque.es En el correo electrónico, el o la concursante indicará nombre, apellidos, edad, NIF, dirección completa con código postal, teléfono y dirección de correo electrónico. 4th “Reading Moments” Photography Competition Begins The Library Network of San Roque is organising the 4th “Reading Moments” Photography Competition with the aim of encouraging plastic and artistic creativity within the reading sector across all aspects and dimensions. The purpose of the competition is to select 13 snapshots related to reading for subsequent publication in the 2019 Reading Calendar of the Library Network. The admissions period for original entries (in digital format) will conclude on 5 October 2018. The terms and conditions of the 4th “Reading Moments” Photography Competition outline that each entrant can submit a maximum of three photographs linked to the proposed theme: “Reading Moments”. This is about reflec-
ting the world of reading in any of its dimensions: human, educational, cultural, recreational, family, social, etc. These must be unpublished photographs that have not been selected in any other competition or contest, and they can be presented electronically with a minimum resolution of 300 pixels per inch, to the email address: concursofotografia@sanroque.es In the email, the competitor should indicate their name, surnames, age, tax identification number, complete address with post code, telephone and email address. In this email you should indicate the number of entries submitted, the title of each one, and a brief description or explanation of it.
The admissions period for original entries will conclude on 5 October 2018. The winning photographer, as well as the 40 finalists, will grant the Network the rights to reproduce and exhibit the works provided that their authorship is mentioned and that they are used to disseminate and promote culture. The first and only prize is worth 150 Euros. Also, the winning photograph will be published on the cover of the 2019 Reading Calendar of the San Roque Library Network. The second prize will consist of the publication of the twelve best photographs inside the aforementioned calendar. The 40 best photographs selected by the jury will be exhibited on the website of the San Roque Library Network.

El Ayuntamiento de San Roque y el Consejo Local de Hermandades y Cofradías sellaron el convenio de colaboración por el cual se destinan 48.000 euros de fondos municipales a contribuir con la Semana Santa de San Roque 2018. Además, con este dinero se cooperará con los actos con motivo del 800 Aniversario de la Orden Mercedaria y con el Via Crucis Diocesano del 30 de junio en Cádiz, en el que procesionará la imagen del Cristo de la Caña. Participaron en la firma el alcalde, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, el concejal de Participación Ciudadana, David Ramos y el presidente del Consejo Local, Juan Angulo. El primer edil indicó
que “con este convenio culminan los trabajos que se iniciaron en septiembre para preparar la colaboración con la Semana Santa 2018, que si bien se celebrará a partir del Viernes de Dolores, el 23 de marzo, desde hace unas semanas se están llevando ya a cabo las actividades de Cuaresma”. “Deseo -manifestó Ruiz Boixque la Semana Santa siga brillando un año más, y también quiero felicitar a los hermanos cofrades que hacen que nuestra Semana Santa sea una referencia en Andalucía y en España”. Por su parte, Juan Angulo agradeció “al Equipo de Gobierno y especialmente al alcalde porque sigan apostando por nuestra Se-

Council allocates 48,000 Euros to local Holy Week The Council of San Roque and the Local Board of Brotherhoods and Guilds sealed a collaboration agreement through which 48,000 Euros of municipal fund will go towards contributing to 2018 San Roque Holy Week. Also, with this money there will be cooperation on the events to mark the 800th Anniversary of the Mercedarians and the Diocesan Via Crucis on 30 June in Cadiz, when the image of the “Christ of the Reed” will be paraded. The signing involved the mayor, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, the delegate for Civic Participation,
David Ramos and the president of the Local Board, Juan Angulo. The mayor stated that “this agreement marks the end of the work that was started in September in order to prepare the collaboration with 2018 Holy Week, which is taking place from Good Friday, 23 March, however for weeks now, Lent activities have been taking place”. Ruiz Boix stated that he hoped “Holy Week continues to shine once again this year, and I want to congratulate the brotherhoods that make our Holy Week a benchmark in Andalusia and in Spain”.
In turn, Juan Angulo thanked “the Government Team and especially the mayor because they continue to commit to our Holy Week, to which we invite all the residents and visitors that we welcome every year. I want to highlight that this agreement is not only the economic amount, but rather also the complementary services that the Council provides through departments such as the Local Police and Multimedia company. Cantajuegos and children’s animation, 24 March in Pueblo Nuevo The Grupo Piruletas, a family entertainment group, will perform on 24 March at the Valle del Guadiaro Sports Pavilion (Pueblo Nuevo), with their “Musical Encantador”, two hours of classic songs, some made famous through Cantajuegos and others specific to the band, as well as a visit from the Disney princesses. La Belle Dame Sans Merci Para que se cree un estereotipo, un cliché, es necesario que la figura que se tipifica haya dejado un surco colectivo, cavando profundamente en la conciencia general. Es algo así como un punto neurálgico. Caminamos hacia un cambio de clima social. 1 Clara Zamora Meca A veces, me prohíbo toDoctora en Hª Arte, marme las cosas demaperiodista y docente siado en serio, es una esuniversitaria pecie de vía escapatoria; también me sugiero no mostrarme excesivamente sentimental y evitar humorísticamente la atracción real que inicialmente podría sentir por el argumento que arguyo. Pero ahí ando, dando capotazos entre lo que mi razón esboza y lo que la sobresaturación de información que nos rodea me transmite. Resulta que ahora es fantástico no ser madre. Educar para formar una familia piadosa es algo así como el humo de las hogueras de antaño. Eva elimina a María, que muere riendo burlonamente. Mariquita ríe, sí, eso he dicho, porque, en su fondo, piensa “viendo este fin tan trágico creo que diréis conmigo que una mujer es algo así como un diablo”. Tranquilas, señoras, que mi heroína no es aquella madre abnegada decimonónica que nace, crece y se desarrolla exclusivamente para educar a otras vidas. ¡Por Dios! Soy una persona muy egoísta y me encanta disfrutar de la vida. Pido, ante todo, que no se me malinterprete y, para ello, voy a tratar de desarrollar esta idea. Ideal exótico e ideal erótico pueden ir parejos; pero no es el tema de fondo, aunque tampoco anda lejos. “… A los que amo como a ti… los mato” decía Cécily, la diabólica criolla de los Mystères de Paris. Me acuerdo de otras innumerables criaturas del bajo romanticismo cuando veo a esa mujer yerma ansiosa de sus propios placeres. No son anacronismos, ¿o sí? El humano mantiene intactas sus pasiones, aunque no sus coordenadas morales, al menos las socialmente aceptadas. Ahora hay voces femeninas, estupendas todas ellas, que cuentan las maravillas de no
ser madre, ¡qué bárbaras! Cuántas horas de sueño, cuántas juergas nocturnas, cuántos viajes a sitios maravillosos, cuántas cenas entre amigos hasta horas intempestivas… cuánto vacío, cuánta pamplina, cuánto egoísmo, cuánto desconocimiento. Ser madre es durísimo. Todas las etapas tienen su parte de profundo sacrificio, aunque cambien mucho logísticamente. Acababa de ser madre por primera vez, cuando, en una boda, un sacerdote me dijo tomando el aperitivo: “es tan dura la maternidad porque es la vía por la que Dios nos enseña a querer a esas criaturas de manera profunda, auténtica, sin condiciones”. ¡Qué razón tenía! Soy coleccionista de sensaciones y, frente a la maternidad, me desarmo: no hay nada más grande en esta vida. Respeto profundamente la decisión de toda mujer que opta honradamente por no tener hijos. Lo que no comparto es la moda de infravalorar la maternidad. Es de un cinismo y de una modernidad pretenciosa y ficticia que alarma a cualquier mente sensata. Si a esas señoras tan autosuficientes les preguntan por qué no tienen hijos, no deben molestarse, la respuesta es fácil: “¿Por qué los tiene usted?” Sin enojos, sin malos modos, sin altiveces. Son decisiones muy personales. Está bien cualquier camino que uno tome con
criterio, serenidad y pleno convencimiento. Nada se puede decir al respecto. La función de la llama que atrae y quema al hombre y a la mujer es tan básica y tan necesaria que obvia aquí reiterarla. Es curioso seguir la parábola de los sexos durante el siglo XIX: la obsesión por el tipo andrógino (ese que hemos visto en moda hasta hace bien poco) es un claro indicio de un turbio estado de confusión de funciones e ideales. Por favor, no perdamos el norte. Está muy bien no ser madre de forma voluntaria, es muy respetable; pero no desvirtuemos el trasfondo: la maternidad es el fin último de la hembra, en cualquier especie animal, no pretendamos ser nosotros diferentes. ¿Para quién si no merece la pena crear un mundo mejor? El hecho de que tener la posibilidad de dar vida dependa de nosotras nos hace poderosas, superiores, nos da la oportunidad de aprender a querer sin límites, sin condiciones. El amor de nuestros corazones femeninos, la voluptuosidad de nuestros sentidos, la pasión ardiente necesaria para crearlos en una (creo fervientemente) juventud inagotable y fresca, la promesa interior de cuidarlos y protegerlos, la satisfacción indescriptible ante sus triunfos, la ternura de sus sonrisas, … ella, la maternidad, lo expresa todo.

I had just become a mother for the first time, when, at a wedding, a priest told me while having an aperitif: “motherhood is so tough because it is the route that God has chosen through which he teaches us to love children in a deep, true and unconditional way”. How right he was! I am a collector of feelings and, in the face of motherhood, I am disarmed: there is nothing greater in life. I profoundly respect the decision of any women who honourably choose not to have children. What I do not share is the fashion of belittling motherhood. This is cynicism, and based on a pretentious and fictitious modernity that is alarming for any sensible mind. If those women who are so self-sufficient are asked why they do not have chil-
dren, they should not get annoyed, the easy response is: “Why do you have them?” Without annoyance, without bad manners, without arrogance. These are very personal decisions. Any route that one takes with judgement, serenity and firm convictions is a good one. Nothing can be said about this. The function of the flame that attracts and burns men and women is so basic and necessary that it does not need to be repeated here. It is curious to follow the parable of the sexes during the 19th century: the obsession with the androgynous form (that which we saw in fashion up until very recently) is a clear sign of a messy state of confusion between functions and ideals. Please, let´s not lose our bearings. It is very good to voluntarily not be a mother, it is very respectable; but let´s not distort the underlying issue: motherhood is the ultimate purpose of the female, in any species, let´s not try to be different. For who if it is not worthwhile creating a better world? The fact that having the chance to give life depends on us makes us powerful, superior, it offers us the chance to learn to love in a limitless and unconditional way. The love of our feminine hearts, the voluptuousness of our senses, the burning passion needed to create children in a (I passionately believe) endless and fresh youth, the interior promise to look after them and protect them, the indescribable satisfaction of seeing their triumphs, the tenderness of their smiles... motherhood, expresses everything.

Los más pequeños fueron los protagonistas en el arranque de una nueva edición del Pequecircuito de Andalucía que inauguró su temporada 2018 en los recorridos pares tres de Almerimar Golf, Benalmádena Golf y Sherry Golf Jerez. En total, fueron más de un centenar los jugadores menores de 12 años que se dieron cita en este primer encuentro del año y que disputaron 9 hoyos bajo modalidad stroke play scratch en una de las competiciones más divertidas y entrañables del calendario de actividades federativo. Golf acogió a más de ochenta jugadores, que disfrutaron de una divertida jornada de golf,

La competición arranca en las canchas de Santa María Polo Club desde finales del mes de marzo sin detenerse hasta el mes de julio con el colofón del Polo Women’s Tour y el 47 Torneo Internacional de Verano 1 Manuel Gil

Real Club de Golf Sotogrande, escenario de lujo para la Final La VI edición del Circuito Golf Sotogrande celebrará su gran final en el emblemático trazado sotograndino. Pero antes, seis pruebas de máxima competición: el 28 de abril estreno de la temporada en el Real Club de Golf de Sevilla 1 Manuel Gil
Un campo emblemático y con mucha historia para albergar la Gran Final Nacional de la VI edición del Circuito Golf Sotogrande. El Real Club de Golf Sotogrande se convertirá en el escenario de lujo para la Gran Final de este año que tomará lugar el próximo 23 de noviembre. Pero antes, mucha tela que cortar, nada menos que seis pruebas de máxima competición para alcanzar uno de los privilegiados puestos del ranking que darán acceso a la final. El Real Club de Golf de Sevilla,
sede ya habitual en los últimos del circuito, acogerá la prueba inicial de esta sexta edición el próximo 28 de abril. Un campo de primer orden que abre la competición hasta llegar al segundo asalto, el 26 de mayo, en Valle Romano, otro campo que roza la excelencia y en el que debuta el Circuito. El 30 de junio se realiza el desembarco como tal en Sotogrande, después de dos pruebas con desplazamientos. Almenara Golf, un clásico desde el inicio del circuito, acoge la tercera
prueba, para terminar de sobrepasar el ecuador del calendario el 21 de julio en el Old Course de San Roque Club, otro de los fijos. El tramo final está reservado para Finca Corestín (25 de agosto), un campo para el que sobran las palabras; mientras que la temporada regular acaba el 29 de septiembre en el RACE de Madrid. Seis pruebas imponentes que permitirán acceder a la gran final. En siguientes ediciones iremos desvelando nuevos detalles del circuito.

Arranca la temporada 2018 del PGA Tour Latinoamérica, con la disputa del Guatemala Stella Artois Open y la participación desde esta primera prueba de Mario Galiano. El golfista, criado en La Cañada, inicia así un nuevo y fundamental periplo en su carrera profesional después de haberse ganado los derechos de juego en este circuito a través de la correspondiente Escuela a finales del pasado mes de enero. Es la primera vez, de hecho, que el tesorillero dispone de la tarjeta de un circuito para desarrollarse como jugador, después de cerrar una brillante carrera amateur, en la que llegó a ser Número 1 de Europa. La categoría obtenida por Mario en la citada Escuela le concede una exención para jugar sin proble-
mas la mitad de la temporada hasta el próximo mes de junio (unos ocho torneos), tiempo en el cual debe acumular méritos suficientes para mantener esa misma categoría de cara a la segunda mitad de la temporada. Curiosamente, una de las personas que más influyó en Galiano a la hora de tomar la decisión de iniciar esta apasionante aventura americana fue Jon Rahm, su gran amigo y compañero de mil batallas con los equipos nacionales. Buen papel de la cantera en el Pequecircuito, disputado en Guadalhorce Golf 1 M. Gil
Éxito total en una nueva prueba del Pequecircuito de Andalucía, ha celebrada en los pares tres del Real Club de Golf Guadalhorce (Campanillas, Málaga). Un centenar de niños, menores de doce años, se dieron cita en el campo malagueño, sede de la zona central de este circuito, dirigido a la promoción del deporte del golf entre los más pequeños. Los jugadores disfrutaron de una divertida jornada de golf entre amigos y, a pesar de que las condiciones meteorológicas no fueron las mejores, volvieron a dar muestra, una vez más, de su gran nivel de juego y de su saber estar en el campo. Tenemos cuadro de honor, y hay que comenzar felicitando al jugador de Baviera Golf, Tomos Davies, y a la federada por Alcaidesa Links, Alejandra Cervera, que se proclmaron ganadores en categoría alevín, con 35 golpes, cada uno de ellos. tín, y la jugadora local, Chloe Martín, han acumulado 37 y 49 golpes, para liderar las clasificaciones de benjamines de 9-10 años. Entre los más pequeños, los de ocho años o menos, Martín Cervera (Alcaidesa Links) firmó una excelente tarjeta de 37 golpes, que le valió el primer puesto entre los chicos, mientras que Yaiza Morales (Benahavís Golf) firmó 56 para llevarse el premio entre las niñas. Finalmente, en categoría especial, el triunfo ha sido para Daniel García (Alcaidesa Links) y la local Chanya Huaysan, con 37 y 39 golpes, respectivamente. El Pequecircuito de Andalucía es,
desde hace años, una de las competiciones más divertidas y exitosas del calendario de actividades de la Real Federación Andaluza de Golf, gracias al compromiso de los campos que lo acogen con el golf infantil y con la promoción del deporte de base. Este circuito pretende ir acostumbrando a la competición a los jugadores más pequeños que empiezan a introducirse en el deporte y pone a su disposición una serie de torneos que le permiten las sucesivas bajadas de hándicap para alcanzar el nivel necesario para participar en otras competiciones de mejor categoría o mayor edad.

El colegio Internacional de Sotogrande se convierte en el último centro en unirse a la campaña de Rugby Escolar que desarrolla el Club de Rugby del Estrecho, un programa que está coordinado por Lidia Herrera. De este modo, el centro escolar de la urbanización s se une a los 14 colegios de San Roque que están inmersos en la campaña de Rugby-Tag y participará en el próximo Torneo Inter-escolar que el Club del Estrecho realiza cada año y que, en esta ocasión, alcanza su cuarta edición. Un torneo que cuenta con la colaboración de la delegación de Deportes del Ayuntamiento de San Roque. La coordinadora de la campaña escolar, Lidia Herrera, destacó que el principal objetivo
del programa es introducir la práctica del rugby como una opción destacada dentro de la oferta de deportes que se incluyen en las actividades escolares. ”Este programa se ofrece a los alumnos de quinto y sexto de Primaria, a los escolares de primero a cuarto de ESO 15 y, en ocasiones, a los de Bachillerato de los 15 centros del municipio” ha señalado la coordinadora. Herrera destaca que “la intención es que tras recibir las sesiones de entrenamiento e introducción al rugby consigamos que los alumnos se interesen por la práctica de este deporte y se integren en la disciplina del Club de Rugby del Estrecho, el club de rugby de San Roque”.

Sotogrande International School has become the latest school to join the School Rugby campaign carried out by Club de Rugby del Estrecho, a program that is coordinated by Lidia Herrera. El ‘Marbella Team’, campeón del Trofeo de Invierno en el VII Circuito de J80 Sotogrande 1 M. Gil
El J/80 Marbella Team se convirtió en el primer campeón del VII Circuito de J/80 Marina de Sotogrande/Land Rover. El monotipo de los armadores Pepequín Orbaneja y Juan Luis Páez espabila y de qué manera tras unas citas en las que no acababa de redondear faena y se embolsa cinco de las seis pruebas en la quinta entrega, y con ello erigirse en el vencedor del Trofeo de Invierno. El quinto asalto se resolvió en dos jornadas y seis pruebas, cuatro de ellas celebradas el sábado en una tarde en la que el viento dominante era el poniente y la intensidad media de 15 nudos. La cita arrancaba con la victoria del monotipo de Caine Federico y Pablo Villar, PAS Team, secundado por el Urban Arkimedes de John Bassadone y el Marbella Team de Orbaneja y Páez, ambos planteando los primeros compases en su lucha abierta por el triunfo parcial. Los socios de La Cañada Golf eligen este sábado a su próximo presidente En esta ocasión, dos candidaturas, José Chapaza y Ángel Gutiérrez, optan al cargo el próximo 24 de marzo ✑ Manuel Gil
Este sábado, 24 de marzo, jornada de elecciones en el Club de Golf La Cañada. Los socios del campo municipal votan este sábado al que será su próximo presidente, a decidir entre las dos candidaturas que concurren a las urnas. Por un lado, está la candidatura de José Chapaza que se presenta a la reelección y que actualmente ocupa la presidencia; mientras que la candidatura alternativa la lidera Ángel Gutiérrez, ex presidente de La Cañada y que precedió al propio Chapaza en el cargo. Según informó el propio club a El Periódico de Sotogrande; la votación (según los estatu-
tos), debe ser directa, sin delegación y presencial el propio 24 de marzo entre las 9:00 y las 20:00 horas. Para ejercer el voto es necesario una acreditación identificativa. Además, advierte que “solamente pueden votar los socios de número con la letra A y los de honor”. El lugar de la votación será el almacén de la propia tienda en la Casa Club de La Cañada, situado en la parte primera de la habitación, ubicación en la que se situará la urna. Los socios dispondrán de papeletas de cada de las candidaturas en color blanco a tamaño cuartilla. También estarán disponibles sobres blancos. Para que
el voto sea válido la papeleta debe ir dentro del mismo sobre. El recuento de votos lo realizarán a puerta cerrada los cinco miembros de la comisión electoral y el gerente. Mencionar que los programas electorales se encuentras, según informó el club, en la página web de La Cañada, en la zona exclusiva de socios además del tablón de anuncios del propio club.

Aguilar y Carretero, de La Cañada Golf, vencedores al inicio del Pequecircuito Los más pequeños fueron los protagonistas en el arranque de una nueva edición del Pequecircuito de Andalucía que inauguró su temporada 2018 en los recorridos pares tres de Almerimar Golf, Benalmádena Golf y Sherry Golf Jerez. En total, fueron más de un centenar los jugadores menores de 12 años que se dieron cita en este primer encuentro del año y que disputaron 9 hoyos bajo modalidad stroke play scratch en una de las competiciones más divertidas y entrañables del calendario de actividades federativo. El campo jerezano de Sherry Golf acogió a más de ochenta jugadores, que disfrutaron de una divertida jornada de golf, tras la cual Cristóbal Gil (Club de Golf Benahavís) y Ángeles Urquijo (Real Club Pineda de Sevilla) fueron los mejores en categoría Alevín, con 36 y 42 golpes, respectivamente. Entre los benjamines de 9 y 10 años, la también federada por Pineda, Caridad Cabello, y Álvaro Aguilar, del Club de Golf La Cañada, se subió al primer puesto con 35 y 34 golpes. Entre los más pequeños, hay que felicitar a Salvador Eugenio Carretero del Club La Cañada por sus vueltas de 45 y 32 golpes, que le dieron la victoria. Finalmente, Benalmádena Golf acogió a un centenar de jugadores en la zona central. Daniel Blanco (Alhaurín Golf), con 35 golpes, y Alejandra Cervera (Alcaidesa Links), con 33, ocuparon los primeros puestos en categoría Alevín.

The amount of energy required to produce a bicycle is tiny compared to many other forms of transport. A 7.2kg road bicycle with a carbon frame uses 11,546,658,000 Joules of energy during its production compared to 118,284,466,000 for a ‘generic car’ produced in America in 2008 (Figures via WattzOn). Variations exist based on bicycle type and
other external factors, but even taking this into consideration, the bicycle has a low embodied energy. Additionally, bicycle lane construction is less energy intensive than roads for automobiles, requiring a smaller amount of space and minimal foundations. Air quality
A bicycle’s environmental sustainability is about more than just low embodied energy. If enough people switch from polluting transport modes to a bicycle – a zero emission form of transport when in use – there is potential for reduced carbon emissions and improved air quality in our cities.
