Es una sensación extraña, divertida y que empuja a una leve sonrisa en el rostro. Es como si algo brotase desde dentro y que alegra la primera mañana que lo encuentras ahí. Parece que nunca se hubiesen ido y que se anhelaba con enorme entusiasmo encontrase nuevamente y frente a frente. ¡Qué sensación tan fantástica en Sotogrande ver como comienzan los montajes para el verano!.

Durante estos días se comentaba en la redacción, como si de una exclusiva mundial se tratase, el inicio de los montajes de los diferentes chiringuitos en Sotogrande y el resto de playas del Valle del Guadiaro. Síntoma inequívoco de que algo está pasando, que algo comienza, que otra temporada apasionante está a punto de empezar y que

el sol ya aprieta como no conocía aún este ‘cuatromesino’ 2018.

Se afronta una campaña de mucho movimiento en la zona, les invitamos a leerse con detenimiento y algo de “buena gana” el exhaustivo informe que llevamos en esta edición de El Periódico de Sotogrande. En esta ocasión, vinculamos la sección más mimada de cada edición a dar a conocer todos los proyectos, planes, actuaciones, ejecuciones y obras, desde el punto de vista municipal, que van a llevarse a cabo en las próximas semanas y meses en la zona. Estaremos muy atentos para ir comentando la evolución de los mismos y de manera especial, al inicio de la construcción en Torreguadiaro del nuevo edificio multiusos que se situará en la parcela del antiguo cuartel (junto a las dos torres).

Hablando de Torreguadiaro, el Pleno de la Corporación Municipal aprobó la declaración desierta de la adjudicación del TG-22 al acometer la sentencia del Supremo y encontrar fallos en los diferentes informes.

En resumen, casi empieza de cero la cuenta y entre recursos y trámites administrativos este ‘culebrón’ parece que no lo resolveremos tampoco en la segunda década del siglo XXI. Lo que sí sabemos con certeza es que la temporada despierta en Sotogrande y ya se puede notar en el inicio de la actividad de polo en los clubes locales, el mayor incremento en salidas de golf en los distintos campos o en la apertura de negocios y establecimientos cara al verano. Estamos deseando contarlos, más cuando cumplimos 20 años en este 2018 y más si nos entra esa alegría cuando vemos el comienzo de los montajes.

It is as if something blossoms inside and you are delighted the first morning you find them there. It seems that they had never been away, and that there was a really enthusiastic desire to once again find oneself face to face with them. What a fantastic feeling in Sotogrande to see how the installations for summer are getting underway!

In the last few days at the paper, people were talking about the installation of the different beach bars in Sotogrande and on the other beaches in Valle del Guadiaro as if they were an exclusive world cup. This is an unmistakeable sign that something is happening, that something is beginning, that something is starting, that another exciting season is about to begin and the

sun is already shining as it had yet to do in the first four months of 2018.

We are facing a campaign of lots of movement in the area, we invite you to closely and enthusiastically read the exhaustive report that we have included in this edition of El Periódico de Sotogrande. On this occasion, we are linking the most painstaking section of each edition to revealing all the projects, plans, actions, implementations and works, from a municipal point of view, that are going to be carried out in coming weeks and months in the area. We will be very attentive in order to comment on how they develop, and especially, the start of construction in Torreguadiaro of the new multipurpose building that will be located on the plot of the former barracks (next to the two towers).

Talking of Torreguadiaro, the Plenary of the

Municipal Corporation has approved the non-awarding of the TG-22 by undertaking the ruling of the Supreme court and finding issues in the different reports. In short, everything is practically beginning from scratch and between appeals and administrative procedures it seems that nor will we resolve this “soap opera” in the second decade of the 21st century.

What we do know for certain is that the season is coming to life in Sotogrande and it is already possible to note the start of polo activity at local clubs, an increase in golf outings at the different courses and the opening of businesses and establishments ahead of summer. We want to tell you about them, more so as we are celebrating our 20th anniversary in 2018 and even more so when we get that joy of seeing the start of installations.

Es imprescindible subir el nivel En el momento en el que esta edición, correspondiente al mes de abril, de El Periódico de Sotogrande entra en imprenta, se cumple justamente un mes del cierre al tránsito del Puente de Sotogrande que conecta la zona de la costa con La Marina y el Puerto Deportivo. A todas luces, una decisión 1 José Luis García acertada en primera insEditor/Director tancia causada por el fuerjlgarcia@grupohcp.com te temporal que a mitad de marzo azotó a todo el litoral mediterráneo, pero que con el paso de los días se está convirtiendo en una incomodidad al alza. Acertada desde el punto de vista de cortar el paso, de manera cautelar, hasta asegurar el seguridad del mismo pero incómoda por ver que pasan las semanas y que no se termina de solventar el asunto.

A grandes rasgos y como confirmaba el informe especializado encargado para valorar el estado del puente: en toda la zona baja (cimentación, etc.) la conexión presenta un estado óptimo aunque necesita de una “modernización” y “actualización” del sistema de juntas de dilatación. Algo que ya habíamos denunciado numerosas veces desde estas mismas páginas y que requiere la implicación de las diferentes

administraciones e instituciones con responsabilidades en el zona.

Parece que todo se encauza y que en unos días (antes del puente de mayo), podremos cruzar el río Guadiaro y conectar dos áreas importantes de la urbanización. Enlazar Sotogrande Costa con toda la zona de La Marina y el Puerto Deportivo (dos de los puntos de encuentro más activos y de más dinamismo y afluencia en los últimos años); se convierte en vital para la temporada alta.

Un caso puntual que se podría perfectamente extrapolar a lo que bien podría ocurrir en otros puntos de Sotogrande. No son pocas las infraestructuras que también cumplen varias décadas y a las que habría que vigilar muy de cerca. Si de algo presume la urbanización es de su cuidado y mantenimiento. No llegar a estas situaciones límites (tener que inhabilitar una zona de tránsito clave en Sotogrande, obligando al rodeo por la A-7); debería ser lo cotidiano. Al fin y al cabo, es imprescindible subir el nivel para seguir ostentando el distintivo de uno de los puntos residenciales más exquisitos de Europa.

Lo mismo ocurre (también en cuanto a denuncias por parte de este medio), con la vía A-2100, conocida como la Carretera de Las Arenillas, que conecta Sotogrande con otros puntos cercanos de la Comarca como son Jimena y Castellar de la Frontera. Con pocas palabras y hablando muy claro: el estado de la vía de es deplorable en muchos

de sus tramos, pese a su corta extensión entre ambos núcleos poblaciones.

La cuestión es la siguiente. Desde hace años se reclama una actuación en esta calzada, más aún si dentro de muy poco será el acceso principal de lo que será el desarrollo de un entorno residencial de tanto nivel como el que se presume que establecerá el Grupo La Zagaleta en dicha zona. Aunque desde el punto institucional (la carretera es competencia de la Junta de Andalucía), la vía cuenta con “poco tránsito y un muy bajo índice de siniestralidad”…, en fin. Tendremos que publicar una noticia trágica para que se tome en cuenta esta rehabilitación. Esperemos no llegar a tanto y que se cumpla la promesa del PSOE ‘chisparrero’ que aseguraba que pronto desde el órgano autonómico se acometería una actuación.

La trascendencia de esta carretera no es otra que la de ser lugar de paso obligado para multitud de personas, muchas de ellas trabajadoras en el área de Sotogrande y toda la costa, que de manera diaria tiene, que atravesarla para unir estos puntos. “Tal y como está la carretera, prefiero dar un rodeo por Tesorillo”, me comentaba los otros días un trabajador. Y es que en malas condiciones de tiempo se convierte en un aventura y casi temeridad, cruzar esa carretera.

Ya que nombro a Castellar, aprovechar estas líneas para desear a todos los vecinos que disfruten en los próximos días de una feliz Feria y Romería, del 3 al 6 de mayo. En esta misma edición pueden encontrar un especial con todos los datos sobre la feria.

Broadly speaking, and as confirmed by the specialised report commissioned to assess the state of the bridge: the entire lower part (foundations, etc.) have connections in optimum condition however “modernising” and “updating” of the expansion joints system is required. This is something that we had already complained about several times in these pages, and a problem that requires the involvement of the different administrations and institutions with responsibilities in the area. It seems that everything is on track and that in a few days (before the May bank holiday), we will be able to cross the Guadiaro river and connect the two important areas of the resort.

Linking the Sotogrande coast area with the entire Marina and Sports Port zone (two of the most active and most dynamic, and busiest

meeting points in recent years); is vital for the peak season.

This is an isolated case that could perfectly be extrapolated to what could happen in other areas of Sotogrande. There are quite a few infrastructures that are also several decades old and that we need to keep a close eye on. If there is something the resort can boast about, it is care and maintenance. Not getting into these extreme situations (having to close a key traffic area in Sotogrande, making it necessary to use the A-7); should be standard. Ultimately, it is essential to raise the level in order to continue to hold the distinction of being one of the most exquisite residential areas in Europe.

There is the same situation (also in terms of complaints from this newspaper) with the A-2100 road, known as Las Arenillas Road which connects Sotogrande with other nearby areas in the Province such as Jimena and Castellar de la Frontera. In a few words, and being very clear; the condition of the road is deplorable along many of its stretches, despite the short distance between both population centres.The issue is as follows. For years there have been calls to act on this road, and even more so as within a short period it will be the

main access of what will be the development of a residential area of a quality as high as that which one assumes that Grupo La Zagaleta will create in that area. However, from an institutional perspective (the road if the responsibility of the Regional Government of Andalusia), the road has “little traffic and a low accident rate” ..., oh well.

We will have to publish a tragic news story for this renovation work to be taken into consideration. We hope it doesn’t come to that, and that the promise of the PSOE in Castellar will be fulfilled, it ensured that the regional body would soon carry out action. The significance of this road is none other than the fact that it is an obligatory transit point for a large number of people, many of whom are workers in the Sotogrande area and the entire coastline, who have to cross it on a daily basis in order to connect these points. “The way the road is, I prefer to take a detour in Tesorillo”, a worker told me the other day. The fact is that in bad weather conditions, crossing this road becomes an almost reckless adventure. Now that I have mentioned Castellar, I would like to use this chance to wish all the residents a fun and happy Fair and Pilgrimage in the coming days, from 3 to 6 May. Un informe especializado avala el buen estado del puente pero recomienda “modernizar” las juntas de dilatación

 El puente se encuentra cerrado desde el 18 de marzo, tras el temporal.  El informe recoge la necesidad de implantar unas juntas de dilatación “más modernas” y “actuales”, parecidas a las que se usa actualmente en puentes y autovías de nueva construcción.

El puente que conecta el Puerto Deportivo de Sotogrande y la zona de Sotogrande costa, cortado al tránsito desde el pasado 18 de marzo, volverá a estar abierto al paso, previsiblemente, antes del inicio del próximo mes de mayo. Recordar, que tras el fuerte temporal que azotó a todo el litoral a mitad del pasado mes de marzo, la Policía Local de San Roque informó a la Entidad Urbanística de Conservación Parques de Sotogrande de la necesidad de acometer esta medida de manera

temporal (cortar el paso) hasta evaluar el estado del puente.

Esta misma semana se ha podido conocer el estudio y análisis realizado por una empresa especializada en elaborar este tipo de informes, en el que se recogía que no hay daños sensibles en la zona baja y que, en buena parte, estado del puente es óptimo para su apertura de nuevo al tránsito peatonal y al tráfico rodado.

Respecto a la cuestión que más preocupaba, la pronunciación de las juntas de dilatación a lo

largo del puente (cuya abertura creció considerablemente durante el temporal); dicho informe recoge la necesidad de implantar unas juntas de dilatación “más modernas” y “actuales”, parecidas a las que se usa actualmente en puentes y autovías de nueva construcción.

Conocedoras todas las partes de la situación y de la valoración profesional sobre el estado del puente, previsiblemente, en los próximos días las entidades y administraciones con competen-

cias en el puente, fijarán las actuaciones oportunas y el reparto de responsabilidades (desde el punto de vista económico) para subsanar las grietas y abrir de nuevo el paso en el puente antes de que finalice el mes de abril.

Destacar la incomodidad acarreada durante estas semanas por el corte del puente, ya que conecta dos sectores importantes de la urbanización, por una vía interna, sin necesidad de tener que salir a la Autovía A-7 para desplazarse de un punto a otro.

Sotogrande Bridge to open before May A specialised report endorses the good condition of bridge but recommends “modernising” expansion joints

The bridge that connects Sotogrande Marina and the Sotogrande coast area, cut off to traffic since 18 March, will once again open to traffic, foreseeably, before the start of May. It should be remembered that, following the heavy storm that hit the entire coastline midway through March, the Local Police informed the Urban Conservation Entity of Sotogrande Parks of then need to carry out this measure on a temporary basis (cutting off transit) until the condition of the bridge had been evaluated.

This week the results of a study and analysis carried out by a company that specialises in producing these types of reports were released, showing that the-

With regard to the issue of most concern, the noticeable expansion joints along the bridge (whose opening increased considerably during the storm); the report outlines the need to implement “more modern and contemporary” expansion joints, similar to those currently used on new bridges and roads.

Aware of all aspects of the situation and the professional assessment of the state of the bridge, it is expected that over the coming days the entities and administrations with competencies for the

bridge, will take the relevant actions and distribute responsibilities (from an economic perspective) for rectifying the cracks and once again opening traffic on the bridge before the end of April.

It is worth highlighting the inconvenience over these works caused by the closure of the bridge, as it connects two important areas of the resort, along an inner road, without the need to have to go out to the A-7 Main Road to travel from one point to another.

El nuevo teniente comandante del Puesto de la Guardia Civil en Pueblo Nuevo de Guadiaro, Raúl Narváez, se presentó de manera oficial en el Consistorio sanroqueño y fue recibido por el primer edil, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix. Se trataba de un acto de carácter protocolario que representa la excelente relación entre el Ayuntamiento y la Benemérita. Hay que recordar que su antecesor en el cargo, el teniente Carlos Molina, recibió hace unos días un homenaje municipal en el que se agradeció su magnífica labor durante más de tres años al

frente del citado Puesto.

En este acto también se presentó a las autoridades municipales el brigada Jesús Ruiloba, destinado asimismo en el Puesto de Guardia de Guadiaro y que se incorporó a ese destino el mismo día que Narváez, el pasado 28 de marzo.

“Esperamos -añadió- que el teniente Raúl Narváez y el brigada Ruiloba se integren de una manera tan profunda en la vida de Valle del Guadiaro como el teniente Carlos Molina, y sobre todo que su paso por este puesto sea muy positivo para su carrera profesional. Desde el Ayuntamiento colaboraremos para lograrlo, porque sus éxitos redundarán en beneficios para la sociedad del Valle del Guadiaro y del resto del municipio”, concluyó el alcalde.

Políticos sabios

No es un problema de colores políticos, y no es exclusivamente español. Sabemos que en otros países también se han producido episodios en los que algunos políticos han sido descubiertos engañando en la formación académica que decían ostentar, sea porque no la tenían en absoluto o porque la habían conseguido por vías irregulares, por ejemplo, plagiando sus tesis doctorales o recibiendo un trato de favor por parte de las universidades.

La pregunta es: ¿por qué? ¿Por qué se arriesgan las autoridades de forma tan temeraria a perder todo su prestigio y a arruinar sus carreras si tales maniobras son desenmascaradas?

Sospecho que la respuesta no nos remite tanto al rey-filósofo de Platón como a un fenómeno mucho más reciente, que tiene que ver

con la hipertrofia de los Estados modernos, incomparablemente más grandes y onerosos que cualquier sistema político del pasado.

En nuestros Estados actuales, la política es demasiado absorbente, y ofrece oportunidades laborales suficientemente tentadoras, como para que sus protagonistas puedan dedicarse con intensidad a mejorar su formación. Y, al mismo tiempo, unos Estados tan voluminosos suelen legitimarse alegando que la política es un asunto técnico, es decir, un asunto que requiere a los mejores profesionales. Como esta contradicción es insoluble, algunos caen en la tentación de hacer trampas para resolverla de forma disfrazada.

Estos laberintos en los que se pierden algunos gobernantes podrían tener una salida que conserve su honor y no quebrante

los derechos de los ciudadanos. Se trataría de reconocer que la política no es un tema principalmente técnico, y los mejores mandatarios no son los profesores más sabios, eruditos y geniales. El mejor ministro de Economía no debe ser Premio Nobel. Y el mejor ministro de Sanidad no debe ser el mejor cirujano. Lo que los políticos deben tener, sobre todo, no son doctorados sino principios. Por ejemplo, el principio de no mentir en sus titulaciones académicas.

Si esa sinceridad se combinara con la modestia de reconocer las fronteras de la inteligencia humana, podría potenciarse el principio político más importante para los derechos del pueblo, a saber, el principio de que la libertad no depende de la sabiduría de los poderosos, porque no depende de la forma del poder, sino de sus límites.

20 AÑOS COMPROMETIDOS CON LA INFORMACIÓN EN SOTOGRANDE

Learned politicians It is not a problem of political colours, and it is not solely a Spanish issue. We know that in other countries there have also been episodes where some politicians have been found to be deceitful about the academic qualifications they claimed to hold, either because they did not have them at all or because they had obtained them via irregular means, for example, by plagiarizing their doctoral theses or by receiving favours from universities.

The question is: why? Why do the authorities so recklessly risk losing all of their prestige and ruining their careers if these manoeuvres are revealed?

I suspect that the response takes us back to the philosopher king Plato as much as it is a recent phenomenon, that relates to the hypertrophy of modern States, that are incomparably larger and more burdensome than

any political system of the past.

In our current States, politics is too absorbing, and it offers work opportunities that are sufficiently tempting, for example the fact that its protagonists can intensely devote themselves to improving their education. And, at the same time, such large States normally seek to legitimise themselves by asserting that politics is a technical affair, one that requires the best professionals. As this contradiction is insoluble, some give in to the temptation to cheat in order to resolve this issue in a disguised way.

These labyrinths that some politicians lose themselves in could have a way out that maintains their honour and does not violate the rights of citizens. This would involve acknowledging that politics is mainly not

a technical issue, and that the best rulers are not the most learned, erudite and amazing professors. The best Economy minister does not need to be a Nobel Prize winner. And the best Health minister does not need to be the best surgeon. What politicians need above all is not doctorates, but rather principles. For example, the principle of not lying on their academic qualifications.

If that sincerity was combined with the modesty of acknowledging the frontiers of human intelligence, it would be possible to strengthen the most important political principle for the rights of the people, namely, the principle that freedom does not depend on the wisdom of the powerful, because it does not depend on the form of power, but rather its limits.

Ben Bateman “Afrontamos un periodo de gran crecimiento en Sotogrande” 1 Manuel Gil

Singapur o Malasia, pasando por Australia. Pero hay que destacar, por su volumen, al propietario del norte de Europa que siempre va a buscar la costa. Si la cuota española representa una cifra cercana al 60%, al menos un 35% siempre va estar copado de representación del norte del continente. Buscan en Sotogrande un clima de otoño a primavera, más regular que en otros puntos de Europa. ¿Estamos ante un buen ciclo para sector inmobiliario?

Tras los resultados del año 2017 y analizando el inicio del 2018 está claro que estamos ante un periodo de crecimiento en el negocio inmobiliario en Sotogrande.

El gerente de Holmes Sotogrande Property Sales repasa los inicios de la agencia, con oficinas en la urbanización desde hace casi 40 años, y analiza la coyuntura actual del mercado inmobiliario y sus principales inquietudes y fortalezas Buenas Ben, Holmes es una de las entidades con mayor trayectoria en el negocio inmobiliario de Sotogrande. ¿Cómo fue su llegada? Háblenos de la vinculación con la urbanización.

Holmes llega a Sotogrande en el año 1979 con mi padre [Ian Bateman], a través de la gestión de alquileres para pequeñas estancias en Casa Cortijos. En total, eran unos 50 apartamentos dónde mi padre alojaba desde su agencia de viajes, Holmes Travel, en Reino Unido, a británicos que venían a Sotogrande para jugar al golf, comer y disfrutar del clima. Principalmente, venían a jugar a lo que era ‘Las Aves’, hoy mundialmente conocido como Real Club Valderrama. Todo ello fue evolucionando hasta que en el año en 1981 se instaló aquí toda la familia y desembocó en la fundación de Holmes Property Sales poco después. Gracias a ello pasé mi infancia aquí , fui alumno del antiguo Colegio Internacional. Tras mis estudios y una pequeña etapa en Inglaterra, regresé a Sotogrande en 2002 para ingresar en el negocio junto a mis padres y a Miguel Preysler, su socio. Ellos se jubilaron entre 2011 y 2013 y desde entonces me encargo de la agencia, de la mano de extraordinarios profesionales como Antonio, Olga, Marcela y Susana. Desde los inicios hemos prestado a lo largo de todos esos años un servicio de gran calidad a nuestros clientes, facilitándoles su llegada y adquisición de una vivienda en Sotogrande o por la venta de sus viviendas, una vez finalizado su periplo en la urbanización, ayudándoles a marcharse. ¿Qué tiene Sotogrande de especial y único?

Más que cualquier otro destino en la Costa del Sol. ¿Por qué?

Sus instalaciones, la calidad del mantenimiento, los campos de golf, el ambiente, el clima,…, es un todo. Pero en especial , el ambiente de una urbanización familiar en la que los vecinos se conocen y se respetan. No hay barreras entre las familias, ésa es una de sus grandes esencias; deporte, familia y discreción podrían ser sus grandes pilares. Por poner un ejemplo, trabajamos con muchos compradores que están vendiendo sus casas en Marbella para instalarse en Sotogrande, al contrario, conozco muy pocos casos. Sotogrande es un lugar muy especial pero no es para todos.

Venimos de años de cierta incertidumbre económica, qué panorama hay actualmente en el mercado inmobiliario.

Sotogrande, como muchos otros destinos, fue golpeado varios años por la crisis. Afortunadamente, entre los años 2014 y 2015

se comenzó a dar una remontada en el negocio inmobiliario y pese a un breve receso a causa del ‘efecto Brexit’ [2016], al inicio de 2017 el interés volvió a dispararse y el mercado mejoró notablemente. Podemos decir que este 2018 ha arrancado muy fuerte y que registramos un un ritmo de interés y de potenciales compradores cercanos al flujo entre los años 2002 al 2006. Se nota que hay mucho interés por la zona y que los compradores vienen muy decidios. Respecto a los precios, se nota que están subiendo. Las propiedades de fuerte demanda (buena orientación, grandes espacios, etc.), han subido ya. Nuestro objetivo, desde de Holmes, es ayudar al usuario final; ayudar a que las familias decidan mudarse a Sotogrande, conozcan todo lo que les puede ofrecer y disfruten de su entorno. Eso pasa por ayuidar identificar sus requisitos, adaptar los al entorno de Sotogrande y encontrar una propiedad acorde a sus necesidades y ajustada a un precio pertinente. Así conseguimos que las familias quieran quedarse, disfruten de su casa, con la familia, con los amigos y todo ello, notablemente, repercute e influye de manera positiva en la economía local y las empresas. ¿Qué zonas son las que más atraen a los compradores?

Recuerdo que cuando comencé a trabajar en el negocio le preguntaban a mi madre por la “mejor zona” para comprar una vivienda en Sotogrande y la respuesta creo que ha cambiado poco desde entonces [bromea]. Obviamente, la demanda por Sotogrande Costa es mayor que por otras áreas, su cercanía con la playa y los clubes, etc., lo convierten en el sector más atractivo. Eso se traduce también, en cierta medida, que sea la zona en la que menos se devalúe el precio de la vivienda pese a los cambios de mercado y la economía. Aunque me gusta decir que no hay ninguna zona “mala” en Sotogrande, simplemente que hay sectores más accesibles y otros menos a los diferentes bolsillos y requisitos. ¿Qué perfil de propietario se interesa por Sotogrande?

Tradicionalmente, sin contar el mercado nacional [español] que es el más importante, el británico ha sido el más presente en Sotogrande. El Reino Unido fue el motor hasta el inicio de la crisis y la devaluación de la Libra. Su valor, actualmente, sigue siendo bajo aunque con perspectivas de subida durante el próximo ciclo, una vez ejecutado el Brexit; por lo que lo veremos crecer de nuevo, a corto plazo el interés desde Reino Unido. Sotogande es una urbanización con propietarios de todas las partes del mundo, desde Estados Unidos a Sudáfrica,

¿Qué te parecen los nuevos proyectos inmobiliarios y promociones en Sotogrande?

Hace cerca de 10 años de la entrega de la última promoción en Sotogrande, la Ribera del Marlin (2009), si no me equivoco. Están comenzando nuevos proyectos y eso es muy bueno.

Sotogrande ha tardado más de cincuenta año en desarrollarse, de manera tranquila, dando lugar a una impresionante mezcla de arquitectura, diseños y estilos; algo que engrandece la urbanización al fusionar distintas épocas y tendencias. Quisiera resaltar que estamos llegando al final del desarrollo de Sotogrande. Las últimas zonas importantes que restaban eran las de La Reserva por lo que el cuadro, el marco de Sotogrande, tiende a completarse. Por ello, es cada vez más importante que ese mapa lo cuidemos y busquemos la mejor manera de mejorarlo.

Holmes siempre ha estado a la vanguardia en estrategias de marketing y en herramientas para ayudar a sus clientes…

Nuestro lema siempre ha sido: “es imposible vender una propiedad si no vendemos Sotogrande”. Pretendemos ayudar al usuario final, al nuevo residente, y éste necesita conocer Sotogrande. A través de nuestra web, mapas y otras herramientas tratamos de llegar a él y mostrarle lo que necesita. Sotogrande es un lugar muy particular y diferente a otros destinos de similares características (Costa del Sol, Portugal, Croacia, etc.); por ello siempre estamos trabajando y evolucionando para dar un servicio de mayor calidad. En Holmes vamos a lanzar una nueva página web próximamente que ampliará todo este concepto.

En El Periódico de Sotogrande podemos presumir de contar con el apoyo y la colaboración de Holmes desde los inicios, precisamente este año estamos celebramos el 20 aniversario…

Holmes lleva anunciándose en la contraportada del periódico desde sus comienzos. Y por último, a nivel personal y como un ‘sotograndino’ más, ¿cómo disfruta Ben Bateman de Sotogrande?

Me gusta disfrutar de todo Sotogrande [sonríe]. Lo paso genial yendo con la familia al puerto deportivo, al polo, a los clubes de playa, a restaurantes, salir con los amigos y disfrutar de su entorno. Pero, sin duda, lo que más me atrae es levantarme un día de sol, da igual invierno o verano, salir a dar un paseo o montarse en el coche y contemplar que el sitio en el que vivimos es un auténtico privilegio, una maravilla. Los colores, la luz, el clima, el ambiente, la tranquilidad,…, la simpatía de la gente de Sotogrande, es algo único. No podemos olvidar que vivimos en un lugar increíble.

Ben Bateman “We are facing a period of great growth in Sotogrande” The Director of Holmes Sotogrande Property Sales looks back at the beginnings of the agency, which has had offices in the resort for almost 40 years, and analyses the current situation in the property market and its main concerns and strengths Hello Ben, Holmes is one of the entities with the longest trajectory in the property business in Sotogrande. How did it start up here? Tell us about the link to the resort.

Holmes came to Sotogrande in 1979 with my father [Ian Bateman], through the management of rentals for short stays at Casas Cortijos adjacent to what is now Valderrama. In total, there were 50 apartments where my father, operating from the travel agency Holmes Travel in the United Kingdom and an office in the club house, would accommodate British people that came to Sotogrande to play golf, eat and enjoy the climate. Mainly, they came to play what was then “Las Aves”, known worldwide today as Real Club Valderrama. All of this developed until in 1981 the entire family settled here and that resulted in the establishment of Holmes Property Sales soon afterwards. Thanks to that I spent my childhood here, I was a pupil at the former International School. Following my studies and a short period in the UK, I returned to Sotogrande in 2002 in order to enter the business alongside my parents and Miguel Preysler, their business partner. They retired between 2011 and 2013 and since then I have been responsible for the agency, alongside extraordinary professionals like Antonio, Olga, Marcela and Susana. Since the outset, throughout these years we have provided a high quality service to our clients, making their arrival and the acquisition of a property in Sotogrande easier, and of course, helping them to leave at the end of their time in the resort.

What is special and unique about Sotogrande?

More so than any other destination on the Costa del Sol. Why? Its facilities, the quality of the maintenance, the golf courses, the environment, the climate...it has everything. In particular the resort’s family friendly atmosphere. where the neighbours know and respect one another. There are no barriers between families, that is one of its essential traits; sport, family and discretion could be its great pillars. To give an example, we work with a lot of buyers who are selling their homes in Marbella, in order to settle in Sotogrande, I don´t know of any examples the other way round. Sotogrande is a very special place but it isn´t for everyone.

We have come through years with certain economic uncertainty, what is the current outlook on the property market.

Sotogrande, like many other destinations, was hit for several years by the financial crisis. Fortunately, between 2014 and 2015 we saw the start of a comeback in the property market and despite a brief downturn due to the “Brexit effect” (2016), at the start of 2017 interest has increase sharply again and the market has improved significantly. We can say that 2018 has got off to a very strong start and we have recorded a rate of interest and potential buyers that comes close to the flow between the years of 2002 to 2006. It is clear that there is a lot of interest in the area and that buyers are very enthusiastic. With regard to prices, they are on the rise. Properties in high demand (good orientation, large spaces, etc.) have already gone up in price.

Our objective at Holmes is to help the end user; help families to decide to move to Sotogrande, discover everything it can offer them and enjoy its environment. That involves helping families identify what they need and what would best suit their planned use. finding a property to suit their needs and at an appropriate price. Thus, we ensure that families want to stay, that they enjoy their home, with family, with friends and all of this has a significant effect and a positive influence on the local economy and companies.

Which areas are those that most attract buyers?

I remember that when I began working in the business, my mother was asked about the “best area” for purchasing a prop-

erty in Sotogrande and I don´t think the answer has changed much since then (joking). Obviously, the demand for the Sotogrande Costa area is higher than for others, due to its proximity to the beach and clubs, etc., which makes it the most attractive sector. That also makes it, to a certain extent, the area where there is least devaluation of property prices despite changes in the market and economy. Although I like to say that there are no “bad” areas in Sotogrande, the simple fact is that some areas are more accessible to different budgets than others.

What profile of owners are interested in Sotogrande?

Traditionally, without counting the Spanish national market, which is the most important, the British market has been the most notable other market in Sotogrande. The United Kingdom was the driving force until the start of the crisis and the devaluation of the Pound. Its value remains low at present

although it looks like it may rise during the next cycle, once Brexit has been implemented; therefore, in the short-term we will once again see growing interest from the United Kingdom.

Sotogrande is a resort with owners from all over the world, from the United States to South Africa, Singapore and Malaysia, and Australia too. But in terms of volume, it is necessary to highlight owners from northern Europe, who will always look for a warmer climate. If the Spanish quota represents a figure of close to 60%, at least 35% will always be represented by northern Europe. These buyers seek a climate from autumn to spring in Sotogrande that is more regular than in other areas of Europe.

Sotogrande is a very particular place and different to other destinations of similar characteristics (Costa del Sol, Portugal, Croatia, etc.); therefore, we are always working and evolving in order to offer a better quality service. At Holmes we are soon going to launch a new website that will expand this entire concept.

Are we facing a good period for the property sector?

After the results of 2017 and analysing the start of 2018 it is clear that we are facing a period of growth in the property business in Sotogrande.

At El Periódico de Sotogrande we can claim to have had the support and collaboration of Holmes since the outset, indeed this year we are celebrating the 20th anniversary...

Holmes has been advertising on the back cover of the newspaper since its outset. We are delighted and we want to thank José Luis García (president and publisher of Grupo HCP), for his commitment to our agency. El Periódico de Sotogrande and Holmes have always supported one another on all the actions carried out by both and this partnership is a real luxury.

Over these two decades, the newspaper has evolved, it is bigger, it contains more information but it has remained loyal to its founding principles: creating a newspaper for Sotogrande, with content from Sotogrande. Despite growing, it has maintained the same philosophy since 1998, boosting and paying attention to Sotogrande in order to promote the destination and provide a service to its residents; which is something we support at Holmes.

What do you think of the new property projects and developments in Sotogrande?

It has been almost 10 years since the delivery of the last development in Sotogrande, Ribera del Marlin (2009) if I´m not mistaken. New projects are beginning and that is really good.

Sotogrande has taken more than fifty years to develop, in a calm way, resulting in an impressive mix of architecture, designs and styles; this enhances the resort by blending different periods and trends. I would like to highlight that we are approaching the end of development in Sotogrande. The last remaining important areas were those at La Reserva therefore the Sotogrande framework is nearing completion. That is why it is

Lastly, on a personal level, and as another Sotogrande local, how does Ben Bateman enjoy Sotogrande?

I like to enjoy all of Sotogrande (smiling). I have a great time going with my family to the marina, to the polo, to beach clubs, to restaurants, heading out with friends and enjoying the area.

However, there is no doubt that what I like the most is getting up on a sunny day, whether in winter or summer, going out for a walk or a car ride and seeing that the place where we live is a real privilege, a marvel. The colours, the light, the climate, the atmosphere, the peace.... the friendliness of the people in Sotogrande is unique. We cannot forget that we live in an incredible place.

Por una carretera decente: Las Arenillas (A-2100) • • •

Una de las conexiones por carretera más transitadas, enlaza Sotogrande con Jimena y Castellar, demanda una notable actuación debido a su importante degradación en el trazado.

El PSOE de Castellar anuncia un compromiso del Consejero de Fomento para actuar en la vía en los próximos meses.

El alcalde de Castellar se congratula del anuncio pero recuerda que fue el propio delegado provincial quien detalló la “imposibilidad de arreglar la carretera por falta de presupuesto” y que no se trataba de una vía “prioritaria”.

La vía A-2100, conocida comúnmente como la Carretera de Las Arenillas, es una de las arterías de comunicación más transitadas diariamente por muchos conductores y trabajadores de la zona.

Siendo precisamente ésta, la principal conexión por carretera entre Sotogrande y Castellar (además de un acceso natural hacia Jimena y otros puntos del Campo de Gibraltar).

Una vía que desde hace años necesita de una rehabilitación integral, debido a la degradación y mal estado del asfalto; protestas elevadas reiteradamente por la Alcaldía de Castellar a la delegación territorial de Fomento (la competencia de la carretera corresponde a la Junta de Andalucía). La novedad en esta situación llega (tras más de siete años de denuncias, en ocasiones promovidas por este medio que ha demandado su restauración en numerosas ocasiones); con el anuncio del PSOE de Castellar de un compromiso por parte de Felipe López, Consejero de Fomento, de “actuar en la A-2100”.

El grupo socialista anunció que tras un encuentro con el consejero, el Director General de Carreteras, Jesús Huertas, y las diputadas Rocío Arrabal y Araceli Maese, “las gestiones realizadas en los últimos meses ante la delegación territorial y la propia

consejería, con sus diferentes responsables, han visto sus fruto al conseguir el compromiso del consejero para actuar en los próximos meses”.

Un anuncio del que rápidamente se congratuló el alcalde de Castellar, Juan Casanova (IU), el cuál contestó con un escrito dirigido al propio Felipe López en el que trasladaba “su alegría por el anuncio y deseos de reunirse próximamente con él para acordar los términos de la actuación” y a la vez perplejidad.

Casanova le recordó que el pasado 4 de diciembre se reunió por este tema con el Delegado Provincial de Fomento y Vivienda en Cádiz de la Junta, Federico Fernández, quién les informó de la “imposibilidad de acometer ningún arreglo por falta de presupuesto”. En la misma, Fernández detalló, según explica el primer edil chisparrero, que “la provincia cuenta con otras carreteras de mayor tránsito y de más prioridad, además, que se trataba de una carretera con bajo índice de siniestrabilidad por lo que tampoco la situaba en un grupo de carreteras de arreglo urgente”, detalló.

Según detalla al regidor chisparrero, incluso se habló de que arreglar el firme de la carretera, totalmente, “ascendería a unos 10 millones de euros” y que sim-

plemente el asfaltado, con una duración de mejora en dos o tres años a los sumo y que sumaría un coste cercano “al 1,5 millones de euros”.

Resaltar que se trata de una vía frecuentada por los muchos trabajadores que se desplazan entre ambos núcleos de población de manera habitual.

Es notable y evidente el preocupante estado de dejadez y deterioro que sufre la calzada, con pronunciadas zonas bacheadas, agrietadas y con deficitarios arcenes y vías de escapatoria. Caso parecido al que sufre también el carril bici que acompaña a la vía entre estos dos municipios.

Si bien, partiendo desde Sotogrande, el estado de la carretera desde el Centro Comercial Mar y Sol hasta la rotonda del Colegio Internacional de Sotogrande su estado es bueno, los siguientes y kilómetros y de manera especial al alcanzar el Término Municipal de Castellar, la vía se deteriora considerablemente. Ilustran este Informe un buen número de imágenes tomadas estos últimos días y que prueban el mal estado de la carretera.

La vía que une los municipios de Castellar y San Roque, discurre por 15 kilómetros de montaña en los que en la actualidad son considerables los desniveles y socavones. Del mismo modo que

el carril bici, que acompaña la carretera autonómica presenta un gran número de imperfecciones en su recorrido y que dificultan enormemente su uso por los ciclo turistas.

Recordar el dato de que allá por el año 2010 se tuvieron que realizar en dicha vía, por parte de la Junta de Andalucía, unos trabajos de adecuación de la calzada después de que se viera gravemente afectada por las lluvias registradas en el mes de febrero del mismo año.

En aquel momento derivó el cierre de la vía durante el periodo de realización de los trabajos (unos dos meses aproximadamente), debido a la apertura de un enorme socavón de varios metros de profundidad que destruyó la calzada de arcén a arcén en un tramo. Entonces, se procedió a la realización de un nuevo drenaje, restitución del firme y del carril bici (en concreto en los puntos kilométricos 9,5 y 10,1). Dicha actuación supuso un desembolso de más de 340.000 euros por parte de la Junta de Andalucía.

En definitiva, existe anuncio de rehabilitación pero vacío de inversión y plazos, hasta ahora.

Todos ganan con la mejora de esta vía; más si comienza también el desarrollo previsto por el Grupo La Zagaleta y que revalorizará aún más ese sector de la Comarca.

For a decent road: Las Arenillas (A-2100) • • •

One of the busiest road connections, linking Sotogrande with Jimena and Castellar, requires significant work due to a high level of deterioration to the surface.

The PSOE of Castellar has announced a promise of the Councillor for Development to act on the road in the coming months.

The mayor of Castellar welcomes the announced but reminded people that it was the provincial delegate himself who outlined the “impossibility of repairing the road due to a lack of budget” and that it was not a “priority” road.

The A-2100 road, popularly known as Las Arenillas Road, is one of the busiest communication arteries used on a daily basis by many drivers and workers in the area. It is indeed the main road connection between Sotogrande and Castellar (as well as a natural access towards Jimena and other areas of Campo de Gibraltar).

For years now this road has required comprehensive revamping work, due to the deterioration and poor condition of the surface; claims repeatedly raised by the Council of Castellar to the territorial delegation of Development (the responsibility for the road corresponds to the Regional Government of Andalusia). The news in this situation comes (after more than seven years of claims, sometimes made via this newspaper which has called for the restoration on several occasions) with the announcement of the PSOE in Castellar of a commitment by Felipe López, the Councillor for Development, to “act on the A-2100”.

The socialist group announced that following a meeting with the council, the Director General for Roads, Jesús Huertas and the members of parliament Rocío Arrabal and Araceli Maese, “the processes carried out in recent months before the territorial delegation and the department itself, with its different officials, have been rewarded by obtaining a promise from the councillor to take action in the coming months”.

This was an announcement that was quickly welcomed by the mayor of Castellar, Juan Casanova (IU), who responded with a written document sent to Felipe López in which he informed him of “his joy at the announcement and desi-

re to meet with him soon in order to agree the terms of the work” as well as his puzzlement.

Casanova reminded him that on 4 December a meeting was held regarding this issue with the Provincial Delegate for Development and Housing of the Regional Government, Federico Fernández, who informed them of the “impossibility of carrying out any improvements due to the lack of funding”. In the meeting, Fernández outlined, according to the mayor of Castellar, that “the province has other roads that are busier and that are bigger priorities, and that this was a road with a low level of accidents therefore nor was it part of a group of roads that urgently needed reports”, he stated.

According to the Castellar governor, there was even talk of fixing the surface the surface of the road, it total “it would amount to 10 million Euros” and that the paving itself, with improvements lasting for two or three years at most, would add a cost of close to “1.5 million Euros”.

The road that links the municipality of Castellar and San Roque, runs for 15 kilometres through the mountain, where there are significant inclines and subsidence. Likewise, the bicycle road accompanying the regional road has a large number of imperfections along the route that enormously hinders its use by cycling tourists.

It is worth remembering that back in 2010, the Regional Government of Andalusia has to carry out work on that road to improve the surface after it was seriously affected by the rain recorded in the month of February of the same year.

That resulted in the closure of the road during the period that the work was carried out (approximately two months), due to the opening of an enormous sinkhole, several metres deep, that destroyed the road from one hard shoulder to the other in one stretch. At that time, work was carried out on new drainage, repair of the surface and the bicycle road (specifically at kilometre points 9.5 and 10.1). This work cost the Regional Government of Andalusia 340,00 Euros.

Ultimately, there is an announcement for renovation but until now there is no investment or deadlines. Everyone benefits from the improvement of this road; and even more so if the development planned by Grupo La Zagaleta also gets underway, which will further raise the status of that area of the Province.

Informe Una primavera de atractivos proyectos y obras a desarrollar en el Valle del Guadiaro • • • •

Más de una docena de obras y proyectos municipales se acometerán a lo largo de las próximas semanas en la zona.

La edificación de un espacio multiusos en Torreguadiaro, sobre la parcela del antiguo cuartel, uno de los anuncios de mayor protagonismo para el siguiente trimestre.

La ampliación del bulevar en la Avenida Mar del Sur, su iluminación y acerado , en fase de estudio.

Un vivero de empresas, mejores instalaciones deportivas y adecentamientos en decoración e infraestructuras, algunos de los proyectos a corto plazo.

i Destacar el vivero de empresas que pondrá en marcha el Consistorio en Pueblo Nuevo de Guadiaro. Una inversión de casi 600.000 euros que permitirá a los autónomos, emprendedores y pymes desarrollar su actividad en el edificio Plaza Mayor de Pueblo Nuevo.

Se realizará una adaptación de la construcción existente para dejar las tres plantas al servicio de nuevas empresas. En este sentido, el edificio dispondrá de despachos independientes, aulas, salas multiusos y espacios administrativos.

Hace poco menos de un mes que comenzó la temporada primaveral en la zona y como viene siendo habitual en los últimos años, no son pocos los proyectos y planes de adecentamiento de espacios y zonas comunes que se llevan a cabo en todo el Valle del Guadiaro antes del inicio de la campaña estival. Rescatar el dato, a nivel municipal, que pese a la inestabilidad con las lluvias de las últimas semana se encuentran en marcha más de 20 obras a lo largo de todo el territorio local y serán cerca de una docena las que esté en movimiento durante las próximas semanas en todo el Valle del Guadiaro.

Un plan de actuaciones en el que sin duda, por lo esperado y por lo que supondrá para todo el entorno, vecinos y residentes de Torreguadiaro, la construcción del nuevo edificio multiusos en la parcela del antiguo cuartel (junto

a las dos torres), se presenta como uno de los grandes proyectos que se pondrán marcha a corto plazo.

En breves, se espera que se realice la presentación oficial de su diseño y todos los detalles respecto a la obra. Un nuevo espacio en el que además de contar con nuevas zonas verdes y aumentar la capacidad de plazas de estacionamiento en el tramo final de la Av. Mar del Sur de Torreguadiaro; permitirá en este caso al Ayuntamiento de San Roque de disponer de mayores inmuebles municipales en la barriada.

Destacar que en este nuevo edificio, además de contar con locales comerciales a los que se podrá concursar una vez habilitado y disponible para su uso; del proyecto resalta la nueva ubicación para la Alcaldía, el consultorio médico y diferentes locales para colectivos y asociaciones de la barriada. Sin duda, una mejora

necesaria para la barriada, un aprovechamiento de las zonas municipales y un salto cualitativo para todo Torreguadiaro.

Proyectos inminentes En los próximos días [semanas] darán comienzo otra serie de actuaciones y proyectos de menor calado en el Valle del Guadiaro pero igualmente imprescindibles de cara a un desarrollo económico, laboral y estético del entorno y que incentivará los beneficios para los diferentes establecimientos y empresas del sector privado con actividad económica en el área. Así como para usuarios y residentes.

Concretamente, la adecuación de infraestructuras con modificaciones y renovaciones en el sistema de riegos, replantación del césped y adecentamiento de muros y habitáculos del complejo. Una necesaria actuación que también se lleva a cabo en estos momentos. Una rehabilitación demandada en el complejo por los usuarios.

tivo, la realización en la zona baja del Centro Médico de San Enrique de Guadiaro de unos vestuarios y dependencias necesaria para el desarrollo del deporte base en la instalación (actualmente sólo cuenta con unos módulos portátiles junto al terreno de juego). La inestabilidad y fácil anegación del suelo en esa zona no permiten construirse en otro punto del recinto.

A nivel de usuario, rescatar tres proyectos más que aún se encuentran pendientes de ejecución para las próximas semanas.

Por un lado, el adecentamiento de la calle Carretera en Guadiaro para el que está previsto realizar una vistosa actuación con la colocación de un jardín vertical en diferentes edificios y fachadas que se encuentran en mal estado. Así mismo, completar los trabajos en el recinto ferial de Guadiaro con la finalización de la zona infantil y de la instalación de un tobogán.

Y por último, resaltar la adecuación de la Torre Vigía de la calle de la Iglesia en el que está estudiándose la posibilidad de habilitar como espacio cultural para posibles explosiones o muestras temporales.

ral local (el año pasado fueron concedidas a Cala Sardina, Torreguadiaro y el Puerto de Sotogrande); además de tratar de contar también este verano con el distintivo de la Q de Calidad para la playa de Torreguadiaro.

de urgencia), en los diferentes núcleos del Valle del Guadiaro.

Plan de verano Por otro lado, es imposible obviar las diferentes estrategias que ya se plantean para la temporada estival. Anunciar, en cuanto al plan de playas y que se pretenden que puedan entrar en vigor este mismo verano (en caso de no contar con la aprobación a tiempo se realizarían para el próximo año); una nueva zona náutica en Cala Sardina y la instalación de un kiosko-bar en la playa de Torreguadiaro, en la zona más próxima al Puerto Deportivo de Sotogrande. Uno de los accesos más

frecuentados por los usuarios de la playa a través de la escalerilla que une el puerto con la playa.

A lo largo de la primera quincena del mes de junio entrará en funcionamiento el plantel de socorrismo y todos los diferentes servicios se encontrarán operativos en las playas de la zona (módulos, vestuarios, pasarelas, duchas, etc.). Para este año también la brigada de playas estrenará tractores nuevos y maquinaria para mantener la conservación de la costa al más alto nivel posible.

Por otro lado, también se trabaja en todo el procedimiento para que otorguen, un año más, las distintas banderas azules al lito-

Proyectos de futuro Cara a los próximos meses o quizás a un plazo un poco mayor, también son varios los planes y estrategias que el equipo de gobierno sanroqueño maneja para el Valle del Guadiaro. Por situar en los diferentes núcleos poblaciones, habrá inversiones y mejoras en todos y cada uno de ellos.

En el caso de Torreguadiaro, se proyecta la finalización del bulevar de la Avenida Mar del Sur desde Punta Europa hasta la rotonda de entrada a Torreguadiaro (pasada la gasolinera de Las Camelias). Un ambicioso plan que cambiaría y mejoraría el acceso y el aprovechamiento del terreno en la barriada y del que lleva años reclamándose una actuación. Igual que en el otro sentido (hasta Cala Sardina), el objetivo es ampliar considerablemente la zona de acerado e iluminación hasta al menos la Milla de Plata.

Para Guadiaro se contempla la finalización del proyecto del recinto ferial con el kiosko-bar, el parque infantil y la instalación, más

que posible, de un parque de skate. Además, también se realizará una actuación en los vestuarios del complejo deportivo. Además del estudio, para su adecuación, del antiguo consultorio médico en viviendas tuteladas.

Varias son las mejores que se planean para San Enrique de Guadiaro. Por un lado, también, ampliar el acerado y la iluminación desde la rotonda de acceso (la de incorporación a la A-7, en sentido Cádiz) hasta el inicio de las viviendas. Una zona algo desprotegida, que suele acumular restos y basuras y que mejoraría considerablemente con dicha actuación. Igualmente, en convenio con Ayala, se pretende adecuar la zona por donde suele transita la Romería para ubicar unos merenderos y zonas de ocio y recreo; un espacio para el disfrute, similar a lo que se encuentra instalado en el Pinar del Rey. Mientras que para Pueblo Nuevo, además de la remodelación del parque infantil se plantean a la venta cerca de 10 Viviendas de Protección Oficial (también se proyectan al menos cuatro para San Enrique); entre otras actuaciones.

Un intenso y diverso plan, a nivel municipal, el que se prepara para incrementar el desarrollo en el Valle del Guadiaro.

A spring of attractive projects for Valle del Guadiaro • • • •

More than a dozen work and municipal projects will be carried out over the coming weeks in the area.

The construction of a multi-purpose space in Torreguadiaro, on the plot of the former barracks, is one of the big announcements.

The extension of the boulevard on Avenida Mar del Sur, is being studied.

A business incubator, better sports facilities and improvements to décor and infrastructure are some of the short term projects.

It has been less than a month since the start of spring in the area and as has been customary in recent years, lots of projects and plans to improve spaces and communal areas are being undertaken throughout Valle del Guadiaro before the start of the summer season. It is worth mentioning the figure, as despite instability with the rain of the last few weeks, there are 20 projects underway through the entire local area and there will be close to twelve that will begin during the coming weeks throughout Valle del Guadiaro.

This is an action plan that due to how awaited it was and what it will mean for the entire area, neighbours and residents in Torreguadiaro, the construction of the new multipurpose building on the plot of the old barracks (next to the two towers) is undoubtedly one of the big projects that will soon get underway. It is expected that the official presentation of its design and all the details regarding the work will take place soon. This is a new space that, in addition to having new green areas and increasing the parking space capacity of the final stretch of Avenida Mar del Sur in Torreguadiaro, will enable the Council of San Roque to have more municipal properties in the neighbourhood.

It should be highlighted that with this new building, as well as having commercial premises that there will be a tender for once it is fitted out and available for use, what stands out is the new location of the Mayoral Office, the medical office and different premises for groups and associations in the neighbourhood. Undoubtedly, a necessary improvement for the neighbourhood is making use of municipal areas, and this is a qualitative leap for all of Torreguadiaro.

Imminent projects Over the coming days (weeks) a series of smaller actions and projects will get underway in Valle del Guadiaro, but these are also essential for economic, working and aesthetic development of the area and will incentivise benefit for the different establishments and companies in the private sector with economic activity in the area. As well as for users and residents.

On one hand, we should highlight the business incubator that

will be launched by the Council in Pueblo Nuevo de Guadiaro.

This is an investment of almost 600,000 Euros that will enable self-employed workers, entrepreneurs and SMEs to carry out their activity at the Plaza Mayor building in Pueblo Nuevo. The current building will be adjusted in order to leave the three floors for the use of new companies. In this regard, the building will have separate offices, classrooms, multipurpose spaces and administrative spaces.

Just a few metres away, at the sports tracks in Pueblo Nuevo, a complete improvement plan (the work is already being carried out) for the neighbourhood´s facilities is also underway. Specifically, the improvement of infrastructures with modifications and revamping of the irrigation system, replanting grass and improving walls and spaces in the complex.

This is necessary work that is also being carried out at present. The refurbishment at the complex was demanded by users.

In the same vein, in terms of sport, the lower area of the Medical Centre in San Enrique de Guadiaro will see the creation of changing rooms and premises needed for carrying out grassroots sport at the facilities (it currently only has portable units next to the playing area). The instability and high risk of flooding in this area mean it is not possible to build in another area of the enclosure.

In terms of users, we should consider three more projects that are

awaiting implementation over the coming weeks. On one hand, the improvement of Calle Carretera in Guadiaro, whereby a striking work is planned to hang a vertical garden on different buildings and facades that are in poor condition. Likewise, work will be completed on the fair enclosure in Guadiaro with the completion of a children´s area and the installation of a slide. Lastly, we should highlight the improvements to the Watch Tower which is being studied for the possibility of fitting it out as a cultural space for temporary exhibitions and displays.

There will also be the implementation of the fifth Municipal Surfacing Plan which will recover a significant number of streets (the remaining urgent ones), in the different areas of Valle del Guadiaro.

Summer Plan On the other hand, it is impossible to ignore the different strategies already being considered for the summer season. We can announce that, with regard to the beach plan, aimed at coming into effect this summer (if approval is not granted in time these measures would be carried out for next year); there is a new water sports area in Cala Sardina and the installation of a kiosk-bar on Torreguadiaro beach, in the area closest to Sotogrande Marina. This is one of the accesses most frequented by beach users via the stairs that link the port to the beach.

Throughout the first fortnight of June, the lifesaving service will

begin to operate and all the different services will be operational on beaches in the area (units, changing rooms, walkways, showers, etc.). This year, the beaches squad will also have new tractors and machinery in order to preserve the coastline as well as it possibly can.

On the other hand, work is also underway on the entire procedure, to once again obtain the different blue flags for the local coastline (last year they were granted to Cala Sardina, Torreguadiaro and Sotogrande Port); as well as trying to obtain the Q for Quality distinction for Torreguadiaro beach this summer.

Future Projects Ahead of the coming months or perhaps a slightly longer period, there are also several plans and strategies that the San Roque government team is considering for Valle del Guadiaro. In terms of the different population centres, there will be investments and improvements in all of them.

In the case of Torreguadiaro, there are plans to complete the boulevard on Avenida Mar del Sur from Punta Europa up to the entrance roundabout to Torreguadiaro (past the Las Camelias petrol station). This is an ambitious plan that would change and improve access and the use of land in the neighbourhood, and for years there have been calls for action.

Likewise, in the opposite direction (up to Cala Sardina), the aim is to

considerably extend the paving and lighting area up to at least the Silver Mile.

In Guadiaro, plans are being considered for the completion of the fair enclosure project with the kiosk-bar, children´s park and the installation, that is quite probable, of a skate park. Also, work will also be carried out on the changing rooms of the sports complex.

A study is also being carried out in relation to turning the old health clinic into sheltered housing.

Several improvements are planned for San Enrique de Guadiaro. On one hand, the aim is also to extend paving and lighting from the access roundabout (the one that joins the A-7, heading towards Cadiz) until the start of the properties. This is a somewhat unprotected area, that usually accumulates waste and rubbish, and it would significantly improve with that work. Likewise, in collaboration with Ayala, the aim is to improve the area that the Pilgrimage normally goes through in order to install some outdoor cafés and leisure and recreation areas; a space for enjoyment, similar to what is in place in Pinar del Rey. Meanwhile, in Pueblo Nuevo, in addition to remodelling the children´s park, the sale of almost 10 Social Houses is planned (along with at least four in San Enroque); as well as other action.

This is an intense and diverse plan, on a municipal level, that is being prepared in order to increase development in Valle del Guadiaro.

La ventana de opinión El Pleno aprueba declarar desierta la adjudicación del TG-22 El Salón de Sesiones del Palacio de los Gobernadores acogió el Pleno Extraordinario y Urgente para dar cumplimiento a las directrices judiciales sobre el TG 22. El principal punto de la jornada (aprobar, si procede, declarar desierto el concurso público convocado para la adjudicación de los terrenos y aprovechamientos urbanísticos del Área 022-TG del P.G.O.U. de San Roque), fue validado con los votos a favor de PSOE, San Roque Sí Se Puede y PA (14 votos) y los votos en contra de PP y PIVG (6 votos).

Recordar que en varias ocasiones se han recibido en el Consistorio órdenes judiciales (principalmente del Tribunal Superior de Justicia de Andalucía, aunque también del Tribunal Supremo) para exigir la adjudicación de nuevo de esa parcela de Torreguadiaro respetando las bases iniciales del concurso, que se remonta a 2002. Dicho concurso fue anulado por el TSJA en 2004, pero la sentencia no se ha ejecutado aún debido a la presentación de diversos recursos por parte de las empresas Sotogolf y Werth (a

la que se adjudicaron en su día los terrenos) y también del Ayuntamiento en el periodo entre 2004 y 2010.

La propuesta que se elevó a Pleno señalaba: 1) Remitir a la Sección Segunda de la Sala de lo Contencioso-Administrativo del Tribunal Superior de Justicia de Andalucía (TSJA) la información requerida sobre “los títulos emitidos y que tuvieron acceso al Registro de la Propiedad en base a la adjudicación anulada”, que se incluye en este expediente.

2) Procede por el Pleno Municipal, como órgano competente y según lo establecido en la Sentencia de 19 de noviembre de 2004 dictada por la Sala correspondiente del TSJA, realizar una nueva adjudicación conforme a las bases del concurso, y visto también que, según se señala en el Informe Complementario emitido por la Secretaría General del Ayuntamiento de San Roque con fecha de 3 de abril de 2018, “(...) tanto Werh como Sotogolf incumplen las bases del concurso (...)”, acordar declarar desierto el

concurso.

3) Dar traslado del presente Acuerdo y de la totalidad de la documentación que conforma este expediente a la Sección Segunda de la Sala de lo Contencioso-Administrativo del Tribunal Superior de Justicia de Andalucía.

Plenary agrees not to award the TG-22 The Sessions Room of the Governors´ Palace hosted the Extraordinary and Urgent Plenary in order to fulfil the legal guidelines regarding the TG 22. The main issue of the day (approving, if appropriate, the non-awarding of the public tender held to award the land and urban use of Area 022-TG of the Land Use Plan of San Roque), was ratified with votes in favour from PSOE, San Roque Sí Se Puede and PA (14 votes) and the votes against from the PP

and PIVG (6 votes).

It is worth remembering that on several occasions the Council has received legal orders (mainly from the High Court of Justice of Andalusia, although also from the Supreme Court) in order to demand the new awarding of this plot in Torreguadiaro respecting the initial conditions of the tender, which dates back to 2002. This tender was cancelled by the High Court of Justice of Andalusia in 2004, but the ruling has still

not been carried out due to the submission of different appeals by the companies Sotogolf and Werth (who the plots were awarded to back in the day) and also from the Council in the period between 2004 and 2010.

The proposal brought before the Plenary stated: 1) To send the Second Section of the Chamber of Administrative Contentions of the High Court of Justice of Andalusia the information required regarding

the “titles issued and that were entered into the Property Register based on the cancelled awarding”, which is included in this dossier.

2) The Municipal Plenary should, as the responsible body and according to what is established in the Ruling of 19 November 2004 issued by the corresponding Court of the High Court of Justice of Andalusia carry out a new awarding in accordance with the conditions of the tender, and also in view that,

as stated in the Complementary Report issued by the General Secretariat of the Council of San Roque dated 3 April 2018, “(...) both Werth and Sotogolf fail to comply with the conditions of the tender (...)”, agree not to award the tender.

3) To send this Agreement and all the documentation that comprises this dossier to the Second Section of the Chamber of Administrative Contentions of the High Court of Justice of Andalusia .

Felizmente, ya estamos de nuevo en feria. Un año más, durante la primera semana del mes de mayo, vamos a cumplir con la tradición de celebrar, disfrutar y vivir nuestra Feria y Romería de Castellar 2018 con todo el en-

tusiasmo y la alegría natural de este pueblo. Además, me gustaría reconocer desde estas líneas el gran esfuerzo y trabajo realizado por la Delegación de Fiestas y los diferentes departamentos municipales que llevan mucho tiempo ultimando todos los detalles de la feria y preparando una entreteni-

da, intensa y atractiva programación de actos para esos días.

Francisco Mena, elegido Pregonero Oficial 2018 La Feria y Romería de Castellar de la Frontera 2018 ya tiene Pregonero Oficial: Francisco Mena de Mira. El Presidente de la Fundación Márgenes y Vínculos llegó a Castellar en 1980, con tan sólo con veinte años, y durante 12 (no consecutivos), formó parte, en tres legislaturas, de los gobiernos de Antonio González y Francisco Vaca, gestionando entre otras, las áreas de Obras y Servicios, Educación, Agricultura, Bienestar Social, Infancia, Familia o Juventud.

Del mismo modo, ha sido promotor y fundador de varios colectivos del municipio como: la Coordinadora Contra la Droga Camina, la Banda de Cornetas, Tambores y Majorets del Santo Cristo de la Almoraima, la Asociación de Mujeres Azahar, la Asociación Juvenil Manuel de Falla y el AMPA del centro educativo. Además, des-

taca en el territorio comarcal su presidencia en la Coordinadora Comarcal Alternativas, colegiada junto a Miguel Alberto Díaz; la fundación de la Asociación Márgenes y su posterior fusión con la Asociación Vínculos. A Paco Mena, como es conocido por todos, le sobran vivencias suficientes para ensalzar la Feria y Romería y así sellar de manera estrecha y para siempre su vínculo con Castellar de la Frontera.

Campo de Gibraltar Se firma el nuevo contrato para el transporte público en el municipio 1 M. Gil / Redacción

El Ayuntamiento y la UTE “Transporte Urbano San Roque” sellaron el contrato para la gestión de los autobuses públicos del municipio. La previsión es que este verano empiecen a operar las cuatro líneas que enlazarán todos los núcleos del territorio sanroqueño, con una bajada del 10% en el precio del billete y con una flota de cuatro autobuses nuevos que incluyen mejoras como wifi y accesibilidad para personas con discapacidad.

El alcalde, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, firmó el contrato junto a César Moreno, el director de una de las tres empresas que forman parte de la UTE, el Grupo Socibus. El precio total del contrato supera los 123.000 euros (IVA incluido), y se establece por un periodo de 15 años prorrogables.

El contrato estipula que habrá cuatro autobuses para cuatro líneas: una que realizará un circuito por San Roque Casco; y otras tres que unirán los distritos con el Casco: Valle del Guadiaro, Zona Interior y Zona Bahía. La idea es que, con el mismo billete, una persona pueda ir, por ejemplo, de Campamento a Torreguadiaro, realizando sólo un trasbordo.

El precio del billete baja de 0.85 a 0,78 euros, y los autobuses cuentan con dispositivos para ser accesibles a personas con movili-

Se prevén campañas especiales para Semana Santa y Feria de San Roque, así como un refuerzo del servicio en la temporada estival.

Se amplían los itinerarios, tanto en horarios como en frecuencias, y se ha firmado un convenio con el Consorcio Metropolitano de Transportes para obtener descuentos mediante el uso de la tarjeta que expide este organismo de carácter comarcal. La previsión de personal es de 6 o 7 conductores.

En el Pleno Ordinario del pasado mes de febrero se trató el punto “7.5.-Aprobación, si procede, de la propuesta de Alcaldía para la adjudicación del contrato de “Gestión del Servicio Público Municipal de Transporte Urbano Colectivo de Viajeros en el Término Municipal de San Roque”. El asunto se aprobó con los votos a favor de PSOE y PA, el voto negativo de San Roque Sí Se Puede y la abstención de PP y PIVG.

Concluye la reforma del Centro de Día en Guadiaro Las obras de reforma del Centro de Día para la Tercera Edad de Guadiaro concluyeron con una inversión municipal de unos 30.000 euros. El centro, según el Consistorio, ya cumple con la normativa sanitaria y de accesibilidad, y la gestión de las instalaciones se encuentra en proceso de licitación.

El delegado del Valle del Guadiaro, Óscar Ledesma advirtió que “el centro necesitaba desde hace años una serie de reparaciones”.

“Desde el Equipo de Gobierno -explicó- aprobamos una partida de unos 30.000 euros para adaptar la cocina, la zona del salón con la barra, y los servicios, porque en lo referente a personas con discapacidades tampoco se cumplía con la normativa”.

“Ya -añadió el edil- se pueden ver el estupendo estado de las instalaciones. Se ha iniciado el proceso de licitación, para que gestionen el centro las personas interesadas en el mismo”, concluyó.

buses comes or how long they will have to wait for a specific bus.

Special campaigns are planned for Holy Week and the San Roque Fair, and the service will be reinforced during the summer season. La Junta de Andalucía prepara un ley para prorrogar las concesiones de puertos deportivos al menos 50 años 1 Manuel Gil

Al menos, unos cincuenta años más. Según adelantaron varios medios y portales digitales especializados en el sector, la Junta de Andalucía prepara una ley que permitirá prorrogar las concesiones de los puertos deportivos (categoría en el que se incluye, entre otros, el de Sotogrande o Puerto Banús), a partir del próximo 30 de julio, fecha en el que vence el plazo. Así lo detallan medios como El Confidencial.

Es precisamente en esa fecha, se detalla, cuando expira el plazo

de treinta años que estableció la Ley de Costas de 1988; este cambio permitirá a las concesiones continuar con su explotación.

Recordar que los puertos deportivos ocupan dominio público y operan bajo una concesión aunque con la antes mencionada ley se acotó su plazo de tiempo a tres décadas. Este margen cambió en el año 2013 ampliando el plazo a 75 años de las concesiones para casas pero los puertos quedaron fuera.

Ante esta tesitura y tras distintos litigios por sumarse, de manera

fallida, al cambio de 2013; según detalla este medio, la Consejería de Fomento y Vivienda sale al paso y ya tiene ultimada una reforma legal ante la extinción de la concesión el próximo 30 de julio. Además, apuntaría el borrador de la misma, que las prórrogas tendrían como máximo 50 años desde la aprobación de la Ley de Costas pero hasta el momento no ha trascendido ni se puntauliza si se refiere al texto de 2013 ó al original de 1988.

Andalucía no es la única comunidad que apuesta por esta pró-

rroga, ya que según detalla el propio Confidencial, Canarias ya aprobó en el año 2017 una reforma de la Ley del Suelo en la que sin apenas darse cuenta nadie, ampliaba el plazo de las concesiones para la construcción y explotación de puertos deportivos otorgadas anteriormente a la entrada en vigor de la ley, que con otras palabras, continuarían en

manos de sus actuales gestores de acuerdo con las concesiones de 1988.

En el caso autonómico, además del Puerto de Sotogrande, también afectaría esta medida a otros puntos muy reconocidos como Puerto Banús, Almerimar o Puerto Sherry. Seguiremos muy pendientes a novedades en este sentido.

concession period was limited to three decades. This margin changed in 2013, with the concession period for houses extended to 75 years, but ports were not included. Faced with this situation and following different failed court cases, in addition to the change of 2013, according to this outlet, the Department of Development and Housing has come forward and has now put the finishing tou-

ches to a legal reform in the face of the expiry of the concession on 30 June. Also, the draft of this reform may outline that the extensions will last for a maximum of 50 years from the approval of the Coastal Law, but up until now it has not emerged or been pointed out if its refers to the text of 2013 or the original text of 1988.

Andalusia is not the only community that is committing to this extension, as according to El Confidencial, in 2017 the Canary Islands approved a reform of the Land Law, without anyone bare-

ly taking notice, it extended the period of the concessions for the construction and operation of marinas granted prior to the entry into force of the law, which in order words, would continue in the hands of their current managers in accordance with the concessions of 1988. In the regional case, in addition to Sotogrande Port, this measure would also affect other very renowned areas such as Puerto Banús, Almerimar and Puerto Sherry. Arcgisa, líder provincial en el sector de aguas y residuos 1 Manuel Gil

El Consejo de Administración de Arcgisa formuló la cuenta general de la sociedad correspondiente al ejercicio de 2017, tras conocer la memoria de gestión, el balance de situación, cuentas de pérdidas y ganancias y la propuesta de distribución de resultados. Resaltar que Arcgisa se mantiene a la cabeza en el sector de la gestión de aguas y residuos tanto en el sector público como en el privado de toda la provincia de Cádiz, ya que alcanzó en 2017 una facturación anual de 43.385.504 €, dando empleo a 394 profesionales.

Las cuentas anuales del ejercicio 2017 recogen un ligero descenso de la cifra de negocio, destacándose el incremento en la facturación de agua en baja (+2,74%). La cuenta de pérdidas y ganancias ha reflejado un déficit de 789.053,06€, que representa el 2,7%. Área de Aguas El departamento de agua en alta de Arcgisa suministró en 2017 un total de 33.374.951 metros cúbicos de agua, registrándose un descenso de facturación del 9,44% motivado por la reducción del volumen aportado a ACOSOL y terceros. Por lo que respecta al departamento de agua en baja, en 2017 se registraron un total de

9.157.002 metros cúbicos de agua suministrada, lo que supone un descenso del 4.73% con respecto al ejercicio anterior. El porcentaje de rendimiento y agua no controlada (pérdidas) sigue estando en la media andaluza, no habiéndose producido incremento ni descenso alguno con respecto a 2016. Arcgisa cuenta a fecha de 31 de diciembre de 2017 con 29.206 abonados, habiéndose realizado un total de 661 cambios de contadores. Área de Residuos El área de Residuos de Arcgisa finalizó el ejercicio con 85.158 toneladas de residuos urbanos recogidos. El servicio de tratamiento registró 225.270,62 toneladas tratadas en la Plan de Recuperación y Compostaje, lo que supone un incremento del 5,59% con respecto a 2016. En total, se recuperaron 9.997,68 toneladas de subproductos. Mientras, la planta de Envases Ligeros cerró el año con un aumento del 12% en lo que respecta a toneladas de subproductos recu-

perados.

La recogida selectiva mantuvo las buenas cifras de ejercicios anteriores, destacando el incremento del 6.34% de envases ligeros (contenedor amarillo), el 1,09% de vidrio (contenedor verde) y del 11,96% de residuos de aparatos electrónicos. En el capítulo de Obras se destacaron las 15 ejecutadas con medios propios, los 2 proyectos dirigidos por un importe de 852.931,54€ y los 6 proyectos de ingeniería redactados. La innovación y desarrollo empresarial también han sido objeto de análisis en este consejo destacándose las 21 aplicaciones del SIGA en funcionamiento. Finalmente, en la parcela de Calidad empresarial, se informó al consejo de los resultados de la encuesta de satisfacción incluida en la certificación ISO 9001. Los usuarios de Arcgisa valoraron en 2017 en 4,24 sobre 5 puntos el servicio de Agua en Alta y en 5,65 sobre 10 puntos del servicio de agua en baja.

Mancomunidad adjudica la recogida de aceites usados por 135 mil euros El vicepresidente de la Mancomunidad, David Gil, informó de la adjudicación del servicio de recogida de aceites vegetales usados, unos trabajos que a partir de ahora prestará la empresa especializada East West Productos Textiles SL. El nuevo contrato de adjudicación tiene una duración de 48 meses, que pueden ser prorrogados en 12 meses más, ascendiendo el importe de adjudicación a 135.194,72 euros, IVA excluido.

Los usuarios del servicio de recogida de aceites vegetales usados de Arcgisa pueden seguir haciendo uso de los contenedores especializados en este tipo de residuos, cuyo número se va a duplicar para un servicio más adecuado. El aceite usado ha de ser depositado en el contenedor dentro de envases de plástico, evitándose los envases de vidrio.

Gil recordó que el servicio es gratuito para el ciudadano y sin costes para ARCGISA puesto que el pago del servicio es el valor del aprovechamiento del aceite recogido. Además, la empresa adjudicataria asumirá anualmente el desarrollo de una campaña de concienciación ambiental valorada en 12.000 euros. También señalçoó que una gestión eficiente de la recogida y el tratamiento de este tipo de residuos es fundamental por sus implicaciones medioambientales. “1 sólo litro de aceite puede llegar a contaminar hasta 1000 litros de agua en la naturaleza, por lo que un tratamiento adecuado de estos residuos puede suponer importantes beneficios para nuestro entorno natural”, indicó Gil. A lo largo del año 2017, este servicio contabilizó la recogida de 52.270,92 litros de aceite, lo que supone un ahorro de aproximadamente 24.000 euros en depuración de aguas.

In 2017 Arcgisa users awarded a rating of 4.24 out of 5 to the Wholesale Water service and 5.65 out of 10 to the Retail Water service.

Association of Municipalities awards collection of used oil for 135 thousand Euros The vice-president of the Association of Municipalities, David Gil, announced the awarding of the service for the collection of used vegetable oils, work that from now on will be provided by the specialised company East West Productos Textiles SL. The new contract awarded has a duration of 48 months, which can be extended for a further 12 months, and amounts to 135,194.72 Euros, excluding VAT. Users of Arcgisa´s used vegetable oil collection service can continue to use the specialised containers for this type of waste, which will double in number in order to provide a more suitable service. Used oil has to be left in the container inside plastic recipients, the use of glass containers should be avoided.

Gil reminded people that that the service is free for citizens, and is cost-free for ARCGISA given that the payment for the service is the value of the use of the oil collected. Also, the winning company will carry out a campaign to raise environmental awareness each year that is valued at 12,000 Euros. He also stated that efficient management of the collection and treatment of this type of waste is crucial due to its environmental implications. “A single litre of oil can end up polluting 1000 litres of water in nature, therefore proper treatment of this waste can result in significant benefits for our natural environment”, outlined Gil. Throughout 2017, this service recorded the collection of 52,270.92 litres of oil, which means the saving of approximately 24,000 Euros on water purification.

Hoy, tu problema tiene Mediación Pedro tiene tres hijos, todos le han estado ayudando con la bodega y los viñedos desde hace años. Ahora, ha llegado el momento de poner el negocio familiar en manos de los hijos. Solicita una mediación con los tres para hacer el reparto de responsabilidades dentro de un escenario neutral, quedando consensuado entre todos y no afectando al adecuado funcionamiento del negocio ni a la facturación. Tres sesiones fueron suficientes para redactar el acuerdo. El periodo voluntario para abonar el sello del coche, abierto desde comienzos de abril ✑ Manuel Gil

Desde este lunes 2 de abril y hasta el 8 de junio se encuentra abierto el periodo voluntario para el abono del Impuesto de Vehículos de Tracción Mecánica (IVTM), más conocido como el Sello del Coche.

Desde el Consistorio sanroqueño se recordó que el tipo impositivo de este tributo está situado “en el mínimo legal que permite el Gobierno Central, tras aprobarse la Ordenanza Fiscal Reguladora de manera provisional el verano pasado”. Esta reducción, que aprobó por unanimidad la Corporación Municipal, suponía situar los tipos impositivos al mínimo legal establecido por el Gobierno Central, y se justifi-

ca desde el Equipo de Gobierno “como una manera de reducir la presión fiscal de las familias sanroqueñas al ser un impuesto que afecta a la generalidad de las economías domésticas”.

“Esto era posible gracias a la evolución positiva de la situación económica del Ayuntamiento en los últimos años, a pesar de que la sociedad sanroqueña sigue sufriendo los efectos de la crisis económica”, se defendió desde el Ayuntamiento.

El IVTM afectará a turismos, autobuses, camiones, tractores, remolques y semirremolques, así como a otros vehículos (motocicletas, ciclomotores...). Como ejemplo, los titulares de los dos

tipos de vehículos más frecuentes, los turismos de 8 a 11,9 caballos fiscales y los turismos de 12 a 15,90 caballos fiscales, deberán pagar 34,08 euros anuales y en 71,94 euros anuales respectivamente, lo que en ambos casos supone una reducción del 11%. La bajada de este tributo, aprobada provisionalmente en el Pleno de Julio de 2017, entró en vigor con la aprobación, en diciembre, de los Presupuestos Generales del Ayuntamiento para el año 2018.

For examples, the holders of the two most common types of vehicles, 8 to 11.9 fiscal horsepower passenger cars and 12 to 15.90 fiscal horsepower passenger cars, will have to pay 34.08 Euros a year and 71.94 Euros a year respectively, which in both cases is a reduction of 11%. The lowering of this tax, provisionally approved in the Plenary of July 2017, came into force with the approval, in December, of the General Council Budgets for 2018.

Las instalaciones del Club de Golf Municipal La Cañada acogieron la XXV edición del Torneo de Golf Fundación Cepsa. Tristemente, la jornada inaugural destinada al Golf adaptado se tuvo que suspender a casua de la amenza de lluvia y posponer (en mismo horario) para el próximo miércoles, 25 de abril (en la próxima edición de El Periódico de Sotogrande se recogerá un amplio reportaje y resumen de la misma). Lo que sí pudo celebrarse fue, el pasado domingo 15 de abril, la Jornada Infantil con más de 80 partcipantes en las difernetes categorías inferiores de la que se compuso la competición. Los jóvenes golfistas disfrutaron en La Cañada de un apasionante día de torneo, además de un posterior almuerzo en la Casa Club y la tradicional entrega de premios y sorteo de regalos.

Educación Colegio Internacional Sotogrande Proyecto Comunitario en Sotogrande International School ✑ Redacción

son los que se imponen sus metas y desafíos a través de un proceso de investigación, planificación, acción y reflexión. La duración es de seis meses, lo cual es otra complejidad añadida para alumnos de esa edad (13/14 años).

Durante este curso, se están llevando a cabo veintinueve proyectos diferentes a nivel local, nacional e internacional. Se colabora con organizaciones en Uganda, Ecuador y Marruecos promocionando el derecho a la educación en países en vías de desarrollo. Otros proyectos a nivel local están participando con la asociación Bandera Rosa de Al-

Las últimas tendencias más innovadoras en la metodología educativa encontramos el aprendizaje a través del servicio a la comunidad. Los alumnos de 2º de la ESO en el Colegio Internacional de Sotogrande realizan un proyecto comunitario de forma obligatoria donde se evalúan las destrezas que los estudiantes desarrollan durante el proceso.

Tal y como propone las Naciones Unidas, el proyecto comunitario conecta el aprendizaje de las aulas con las necesidades sociales reales. El enfoque y los objetivos del proyecto son elegidos por los propios alumnos, ellos mismos

También se desarrollan proyectos que están dirigidos a la concienciación y acción en diferentes ámbitos como el medioambiental, personas con necesidades especiales, centros de acogida de animales, desarrollo de las destrezas sociales para niños, innovación tecnológica, salud y deporte entre otros.

Community Project at Sotogrande International School

Learning through community service is an important method, which forms part of the IB MYP Programme. As part of the curriculum, 3rd year Secondary School pupils at Sotogrande International School are carrying out a self-led community project, where teach-

ers evaluate the skills that the pupils develop during the process.

As proposed by the United Nations, the MYP Community Project connects learning in the classrooms with real social needs. The approach and the objectives of the project are chosen by the pupils

themselves, setting their own goals and challenges through a research, planning, action and reflection process. The duration of the project is six months, which, in itself, is an added complexity for pupils of this age (13/14 years old).

During this time, twenty-nine different projects are being carried out at a local, national and international level. There is collaboration with organisations in Uganda, Ecuador and Morocco to promote the right to education in developing countries. Other local projects are participating with the association Bandera Rosa de Algeciras which supports breast cancer and Hogar Betania that helps people at risk of social exclusion. Work is also being carried out with Tierra de Hombres, an NGO that offers health support at Hospital Car-

los Haya in Malaga to children in need all over the world. Other projects are aimed at raising awareness and creating action in different areas such as the environment,

people with special needs, animal refuge centres, the development of social skills for children, technological innovation, health and sport among others.

CEIP Barbésula Un trimestre repleto de actividades y eventos en el centro El segundo trimestre en nuestro centro ha sido tan emocionante como el primero, lleno de celebraciones, eventos, y momentos para atesorar en el recuerdo. Celebramos el carnaval, y el colegio se vistió de personajes fantásticos, héroes y heroínas, animales y máscaras que llenaron de colores nuestro desfile para el deleite de todas las familias.

Además rendimos homenaje a nuestra tierra y nos teñimos de blanco y verde al ritmo flamenco de una actuación regalada por el Ampa, con bailaoras y guitarrista incluido, y disfrutamos de un riquísimo desayuno con nuestros productos típicos preparado y servido por algunas mamás con todo su cariño como mejor

ingrediente.

Como puede verse, las familias en nuestro colegio ocupan un lugar imprescindible, y prueba de ello fue la visita de las abuelas que nos llevaron de viaje por el tiempo con sus fotos y recuerdos el día de la mujer. Este tipo de educación en valores se llevó a cabo también con los juegos populares organizados por nuestro especialista de Educación Física, con la creación de un nuevo huerto escolar, y con la visita a bioparc Fuengirola.

A term full of activities and events at the school The second term at our school has been as exciting as the first, full of celebrations, events and moments that will be treasured memories. We celebrated the carnival, and the school dressed up as fantastic characters, heroes and heroines, animals and masks that filled our show with colours to the delight of all the families.

Also, we paid tribute to our region and wore white and green to the rhythm of flamenco with a performance courtesy of the Association of Parents, including a dancer and guitar player, and we enjoyed a deli-

cious breakfast with our typical products prepared and served by some mothers with all their affection as the key ingredient.

As you can see, the families at our school have an essential role, and this was demonstrated with the visit of the grandmothers who took us on a trip back in time with their photographs and memories on Women´s Day. This type of education in values was also carried out with popular games organised by our Physical Education specialist, with the creation of a new school vegetable garden, and a visit to the Fuengirola biopark.

Colegio San José Día del Libro El colegio San José conmemora cada año el Día del Libro con una serie de actividades en las que se involucra toda la comunidad educativa.

Este año, los alumnos del colegio en Guadalmina abren esta celebración con la representación “El Progreso de la Humanidad”, en la que cada curso interpreta y muestra las aportaciones más importantes de cada etapa de la Historia a través de una serie de inventos, mientras que entre todos construyen una máquina del tiempo.

Durante varios días se suceden las representaciones teatrales en inglés y en español: “Las emociones de los cuentos” por alumnos

de Educación Infantil, y “Pantomime Academy”, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” o “Descubriendo al Principito” entre otras, a cargo de alumnos de Educación Primaria.

Centenares de alumnos se acercarán un poco más a la literatura gracias a las diversas sesiones de “Cuentacuentos” que estimulan su fantasía a la vez que les motiva a la lectura. Una Feria del Libro, que se celebra durante dos días, pone al alcance de todos cientos de obras que adquieren según sus gustos y preferencias.

La conmemoración de esta efeméride tiene todos los años su acto culmen en la entrega de Premios

del Concurso de Cuentos “José Manuel Álvarez Gil”, que se convoca con el doble objeto de honrar la memoria del Fundador del colegio, D. José Manuel Álvarez Gil, y contribuir a fomentar la creatividad literaria entre los jóvenes.

En su XXIV edición han participado más de 1.000 cuentos procedentes de centros educativos de toda España, clasificados en tres categoría: Educación Primaria, Educación Secundaria y Enseñanzas Medias. Los ganadores han sido: - Categoría Educación Primaria: “Verde entre Azules”, por Daniel Prados Gálvez, del CEIP “Mayor Zaragoza” de Salobreña (Granada).

- Categoría Educación Secundaria: “El Piano”, por Sofía Pérez Martínez, del IES “Jabalcuz” de Jaén.

- Categoría Enseñanzas Medias:

“De mis dedos al abismo”, por Rocío Correa Martín de Soto, del Colegio “Veracruz” de Galapagar (Madrid).

Hundreds of pupils will get a little closer to literature thanks to the different “Storytelling” sessions that stimulate their imagination while encouraging them to read.

A Book Fair, which will take place over two days, makes hundreds of works available to everyone which they can purchase according to their tastes and preferences.

The commemoration of this key date reaches its culmination each year with the awards ceremony for the “José Manuel Álvarez Gil” Storytelling Competition that is organised with the dual objective of honouring the memory of the School´s Founder, Mr José Manuel Álvarez Gil, and helping to encourage literary creativity among

young people.

In the XXIV edition there were more than 1,000 stories from schools all over Spain, classified in three categories: Primary Education, Secondary Education and High Schools. The winners were: - Primary Education Category: “Green between Blues” by Daniel Prados Gálvez, from CEIP “Mayor

Zaragoza” from Salobreña (Granada).

Este nuevo Reglamento de ámbito europeo, viene a sustituir a la Ley orgánica de Protección de Datos (LOPD), en la que se establecían entre otros, los siguientes principios de protección: calidad, información, datos especialmente protegidos, confidencialidad o seguridad de los datos, procediéndose a establecer un régimen de protección más riguroso y adaptado tanto a las nuevas aplicaciones que tienen presencia en nuestra sociedad, como a los hechos y vulneraciones que se vienen produciendo en el tratamiento de la información y datos que introducimos y son utilizados por las empresas para su negocio.

Atendiendo a los principios antes mencionados y teniendo en cuen-

ta que los datos que poseemos y transferimos pueden comprometer nuestra privacidad y que son deseados tanto por determinadas empresas para incrementar sus beneficios, como por los ciber delincuentes, debe saber que aplicaciones tan conocidas como whatsapp no cumplen la normativa, ya que no se reconoce como prestador de servicio ni sigue instrucciones de un responsable de los ficheros que contienen información confidencial, por lo que se convierte en una herramienta insegura para transferir información y documentación privada.

En los últimos meses estamos conociendo algunos apercibimientos y resoluciones por parte de la AEPD, que declaran infractores

por ceder y tratar datos personales sin consentimiento de los usuarios, a Compañías tan conocidas como Facebook y Whatsapp.

Nos atrevemos a vaticinar que con la entrada en vigor del nuevo reglamento, esta agencia incrementará las sanciones por el incumplimiento que se produzca en sede de cada empresa.

Como ya viene siendo habitual cada año por estas fechas, The Arts Society de la Frontera (antes conocido como DFAS de la Frontera), presenta desde este lunes su tradicional Concurso Jóvenes Artistas 2018. En esta ocasión, se muestra una selección de obras de jóvenes artistas, pertenecientes a cinco escuelas del municipio de San Roque.

Estas obras estarán expuestas en el Espacio Joven de San Roque entre el lunes 16 y viernes 20 de Abril , todas las mañanas de 09:00 a 14:00. Además, esta previsto una pequeña recepción que tendrá lugar el viernes 20 de 18:00 a 19:00 h. de la tarde donde se llevará a cabo la entrega de los reconocimientos y premios relativos a esta edición del certamen.

La prisión permanente revisable Abordamos hoy un tema de la máxima actualidad debido al eco mediático que están teniendo diferentes actos criminales y a su coincidencia con una iniciativa parlamentaria para abolir esta pena privativa de libertad prevista en el Código Penal.

El propio Código jus1 Luis Babiano tifica esta pena de exAbogados / Lawyers cepcional gravedad en Sotogrande el hecho de que sólo se impondrá en los casos de los delitos más graves. En estos supuestos es necesaria una respuesta diferente y extraordinaria mediante la imposición de una pena de duración indeterminada (es lo que siempre se ha llamado “cadena perpetua”).

La polémica está servida entre los defensores y detractores de esta pena. Polémica que además ha calado en el seno de la sociedad debido a desgraciados sucesos acaecidos en los últimos años tales como asesinatos y violación de menores, desaparición de los mismos, etcétera.

Es importante señalar que cuando se estaba procediendo a la redacción de esta modificación del Código Penal, el Gobierno de turno hizo las consultas legalmente obligatorias.

Así, el Consejo de Estado afirmó que la pena se ajustaba a lo dispuesto en nuestra Constitución y al Convenio Europeo de Derechos Humanos debido a que el hecho de que el condenado tenga acceso a los mecanismos de revisión de las penas es revelador de la voluntad de orientar también esta pena especialmente grave hacia una eventual reinserción”.

También el Consejo General del Poder Judicial informó a favor de la instauración de esta pena ya que la posibilidad de ser revisada se puede entender que está orientada hacia la reeducación y reinserción social de los condenados se-

gún se recoge en el artículo 25 de la Constitución.

Finalmente, el informe de la Fiscalía General del Estado también informó favorablemente al no ser esta pena incompatible con la libertad condicional lo que posibilita la progresión de grado en el ámbito penitenciario y la suspensión condicional de una parte de la pena una vez alcanzado el cumplimiento de un determinado período fijado por la ley por lo que el condenado mantiene una oportunidad concreta realizable para recuperar la libertad.

Por si fuera poco, el TEDH al poner de manifiesto que esta nueva pena no reniega de la reinserción, concluye que es conforme con la convención europea de derechos fundamentales.

Todo esto debería de servir para acabar con la polémica si no fuera por la existencia de cierta doctrina, que está en contra de esta pena. Lo cierto es que, leídos los manifiestos de estos contrarios a ella, llegamos a la conclusión personal de que se basan en unos principios muy teóricos y que no tienen en cuenta que la prisión permanente, por su carácter de revisable, cumple la finalidad de reeducación y reinserción social recogida en nuestra Constitución. Se afirma por esta parte de la doctrina, por ejemplo, que esta pena sustituye principios como el de culpabilidad por el de peligrosidad lo que a juicio de esta corriente va en contra de la dignidad humana.

A mí me llama particularmente la atención el hecho de que se origine una gran polémica con esto y que nadie critique la existencia de penas de hasta cuarenta años de prisión que no son revisables. Existe también la posibilidad de diferentes acumulaciones de condenas que pueden llegar incluso límites superiores. Y nadie dice nada. En la prisión permanente revisable el condenado puede solicitar la libertad condicional después de cumplir una condena de entre veinticinco o treinta años según el delito. Y un tribunal especial puede concederle esta libertad condicionada a que no vuelva a delinquir durante un plazo determinado. Si cumplido este plazo el tribunal entiende que el penado cumple los requisitos necesarios, el reo quedará en libertad definitiva. La conclusión es clara: la prisión permanente revisable ni es definitiva ni es permanente y si el preso realmente se reeduca y no

vuelve a delinquir puede salir en libertad.

Tampoco entendemos toda esta reacción política contra la prisión permanente revisable cuando la figura se recoge en todo el derecho comparado de nuestro entorno.

Así, en Italia, la “cadena perpetua” tienen una revisión a los veintiséis años y la pena no puede tener una extensión superior a los treinta años en ningún caso.

El sistema belga es muy similar al español ya que allí también el condenado puede solicitar la libertad condicional tras pasar en prisión un mínimo de años según la gravedad del delito que ha cometido. La libertad condicional debe ser concebida por unanimidad por un tribunal formado por magistrados, funcionarios de prisiones y agentes de reinserción social.

En Francia el condenado a cadena perpetua por delitos extremadamente graves puede pedir también la libertad condicional a los treinta años. También existe otros casos de menor entidad criminal en los que la revisión se puede solicitar entre los dieciocho y los veintidós años de prisión.

El TEDH ha convalidado este sistema francés que, como podrá apreciarse, es muy similar al español.

En Alemania también se instauró la cadena perpetua que se aplica a los delitos muy graves y que puede ser revisada a los quince años pudiendo también alargarse la estancia en prisión si no se aprecia la reeducación o reinserción del reo.

El sistema británico ha sido el más extremo hasta el punto de que se publicó una ley estableciendo que el condenado no podría salir nunca de prisión en caso de asesinato múltiple cometidos por reincidentes o que impliquen abusos sexuales, secuestro, premeditación o terrorismo. El TEDH declaró contraria a la convención europea de derechos humanos esta legislación pero simplemente por el hecho de negar a los presos el derecho a una revisión de su condena no por el propio sistema de cadena perpetua.

A la vista de lo expuesto, entendemos que la pena de prisión permanente revisable es totalmente adecuada a nuestra legislación constitucional y ha sido revalidada por los tribunales europeos encargados de velar por los derechos humanos.

Revisable life sentences Today we are tackling a subject that is highly topical due to the media impact that different criminal acts are having and the fact that they coincide with a parliamentary initiative to abolish this term of imprisonment outlined in the Penal Code.

The Code itself justifies this exceptionally serious punishment by the fact that it will only be imposed in the cases of the most serious crimes. In these cases, a different and extraordinary response is needed via the imposition of a sentence of an indefinite duration (what has always been called “life imprisonment”).

There is a lot of controversy among those who defend and oppose this penalty. The controversy has also permeated through to the heart of society due to unfortunate events that have occurred in recent years such as murders and the rape of minors, the disappearance of them, etc.

It is important to highlight that when this amendment to the Penal Code was being prepared, the incumbent Government carried out the enquiries required by law. Thus, the State Council stated that the sentence adjusted to the provisions of our Constitutions and the European Convention of Human Rights due to the fact that the convict has access to the mechanisms to review the sentences, is indicative of the desire to direct this especially serious sentence towards possible reinsertion”.

The General Council of the Judiciary reported in favour of the instatement of this sentence as with the possibility of being revised it can be understood that it is aimed at the re-education and social re-insertion of the convicts as outlined in article 25 of the Constitution.

Lastly, the General State Prosecutor also issued a favourable report as this sentence is not incompatible with parole, which enables progression of the level at a penitentiary level and the conditional suspension of a part of the sentence once a certain period

established by law has been service therefore the convict retains a specific achievable opportunity to regain freedom.

As if that wasn’t enough, the ECHR when stating that this new sentence does not deny reinsertion, concludes that it complies with the European convention on fundamental human rights.

All of this should serve to put an end to the controversy if it wasn’t for the existence of a certain doctrine, that is against this sentence.

The fact is that, having read the manifestos of the detractors, we reached the personal conclusion that they are based on very theoretical principles and do not take into account that life sentences, due to its revisable nature, fulfils the purpose of re-education and social re-integration outlined in our Constitution. This part of the doctrine states, for example, that this sentence replaces principles such as that of culpability with that of dangerousness which in the view of this tendency goes against human dignity.

What is particularly striking to me is the fact that there is a lot of controversy about this yet nobody criticises the existence of prison sentences of up to forty years that cannot be reviewed. There is also the possibility of different sentences accumulating to even reach higher limits. And nobody says anything. With reviewable life sentences the convict can request probation after serving a sentence of between twenty-five or thirty years depending on the crime. And a special court can grant them this conditional release providing they do not commit a crime during a specific period. If following this period, the court believes that the convict meets the necessary requirements, the prisoner will be granted parole. The conclusion is clear: reviewable life sentences are neither definitive and nor are they for life, and if the prisoner is re-educated and does not re-offend they can be released.

Nor can we understand all this political reaction against reviewable life sentences when the format is provided for in all the com-

parative law in our environment.

Thus, in Italy, life sentences are reviewed after twenty-six years and under no circumstances can the sentence be for more than thirty years. The Belgian system is very similar to the Spanish one, as there the convict can also request parole after spending a minimum number of years in prison depending on the seriousness of the crime that they have committed. Parole must be granted unanimously by a court formed by magistrates, prison officials and social reintegration agents.

In France, convicts sentenced to life in prison for extremely serious crimes can also request parole after thirty years. There are also other cases for lesser crimes where parole can be requested following between eighteen and twenty-two years in prison. The ECHR has validated this French system which, as you can see, is very similar to the Spanish one.

Germany also imposed life imprisonment which applies to very serious crimes and which can be reviewed after fifteen years, the prison sentence can also be extended if the re-education or reinsertion of the convict is not noted.

The British system has been the most extreme to the point that a law was published establishing that the convict could never leave prison in the case of multiple killings committed by repeat offenders or involving sexual abuse, kidnap, premeditation or terrorism. The ECHR declared this legislation to be a breach of the European convention of human rights but simply for the fact that it denies prisoners the right to a review of their sentence, and not because of the life imprisonment system itself.

In view of what has been outlined, we believe that revisable prison sentences are totally appropriate for our constitutional legislation and has been ratified by the European courts responsible for ensuring human rights.

El golfista vasco cierra por todo lo alto su debut en el Open de España. “Vengo a ganar”, dijo Jon Rahm con la convicción que le caracteriza en la jornada previa al inicio de un torneo que ha pasado a engrosar una de las páginas más emotivas y bellas de la historia del golf español, adornadas por un público enfervorecido y multitudinario en una edición histórica que ha encumbrado a un jugador genial y a unos aficionados a su altura.

La jornada final, simplemente apasionante, se planteaba

como un caza y captura de los españoles Nacho Elvira y Jon Rahm sobre el irlandés Paul Dunne, un golfista de indudable clase que durante los 54 hoyos previos se había mostrado sencillamente implacable.

Jon Rahm, reiterativo en sus aciertos, tomó la iniciativa a mitad de recorrido en un fase del mismo donde el vasco arañaba los golpes al campo que el cántabro ansiaba, un deseo culminado de bruces por Nacho Elvira cuando dos birdies consecutivos, en los hoyos 13 y 14, devolvieron una igualdad al marcador rota de forma irreversible en el momento en

el que Nacho Elvira afrontó el hoyo 17, punto del recorrido donde, tras enviar la bola al agua y fallar posteriormente un putt de escasos centímetros, cercenó todos sus opciones de triunfo en el marco de una actuación en cualquier caso sobresaliente.

Al mismo tiempo llegó Jon Rahm al hoyo 18, abarrotado de público, donde rubricó su consabido birdie. Y con ello llegó también la locura colectiva, el cerrado aplauso de agradecimiento, la encendida ovación de reconocimiento, el punto y final a un Open de España 2018 absolutamente mágico.

Mejoras en las pistas polideportivas de Pueblo Nuevo

Desde hace unos días se está llevando a cabo una serie de mejoras en el recinto de las pistas polideportivas que se encuentran ubicadas en Pueblo Nuevo De Guadiaro. En concreto se trata de un adecentamiento general de toda la instalación en el que se incluye el replantado del césped del terreno de juego.

Además de levantar, remover tierra y siembra del nuevo césped, también se está modificando y mejorando el sistema de riego para la propia instalación. Aprovechando esta serie de actuaciones ya también se está aprovechando para pintar, mejorar y reparar otros aspectos del recinto: muros, vestuarios, accesos, vallas, etc.

Se espera que en pocos días vuelvan a estar operativas estas instalaciones deportivas en Pueblo Nuevo.

El jugador del equipo Sub 14 del Club de Rugby del Estrecho, Spike Parsons, se proclamó Campeón de España con la Selección de Andalucía Sub 14 en el torneo disputado en Puertollano, Ciudad Real. En la final, disputada entre Andalucía y Madrid, el conjunto dirigido por Alberto Moreno se alzó con la victoria por 12 a 7. Previamente, la andaluza había ganado su grupo imponiéndose a Asturias y Castilla y León, mientras que Madrid se alzó primero de su grupo

ganando a Valencia, Cataluña y Galicia.

El jugador del Estrecho, Spike Parsons, jugó en todos los partidos disputados por la selección. “Hemos trabajado muy duro y nos merecíamos esta victoria. Alzarnos con el campeonato de España nos da mucho ánimo para seguir trabajando y ganar más campeonatos en el futuro. Me gustaría agradecer el enorme trabajo realizado por los entrenadores Alberto Moreno y David Ruani”, señaló Spike Parsons.

Los Circuitos Juvenil y Benjamín de Andalucía celebraron una nueva cita con más de 300 jugadores menores de 18 años, en los campos del Real Club de Golf de Sevilla, Alborán Golf y el Real Club de Golf Guadalmina. Los más jóvenes deleitaron a los asistentes con su alto nivel de juego y el buen ambiente reinante en esta competición entre los participantes.

En la cita del Real Club de Golf Guadalmina- felicitar al jugador local, Álvaro Mueller, y a la federada por el Club de Golf La Cañada, Mercedes Vega, que se hicieron con el triunfo en las clasificaciones cadete, tras firmar 72 (par) y 76 golpes, respectivamente. Por su parte, la también jugadora del Club de Golf La Cañada, María Torres, y el local Marc Wa-

ller, fueron los mejores en categoría infantil, con 75 y 79 impactos.

En cuanto a las clasificaciones alevines, se llevaron la victoria los jugadores de Alcaidesa Golf, Marta Romero –con 87 golpes- y Alberto

Baños, con 78. Finalmente, entre los más pequeños, el jugador de Baviera Golf, Benjamin van Braak, y la jugadora local, Valeria Ramírez, se lograron el triunfo con 44 y 45 golpes.

El Andalucía Valderrama Masters de Golf, declarado acontecimiento de excepcional interés Esta denominación permitirá beneficios fiscales para las empresas patrocinadores, por lo que incentivará su inversión en el evento y supone un importante adelanto para que el torneo ingrese en las Rolex Series 1 M. Gil

El Andalucía Valderrama Masters de Golf fue declarado acontecimiento de excepcional interés público, según detalla su inclusión en el proyecto de Presupuestos Generales del Estado (PGE), lo que permitirá acogerse a los beneficios fiscales referidos a este tipo de eventos. Así, el proyecto se refiere a los beneficios fiscales aplicables al torneo de golf en Sotogrande, que será considerado acontecimiento de excepcional interés público a efectos de lo dispuesto en el artículo 27 de la Ley 49/2002, de 23 de diciembre, de régimen fiscal de las entidades sin fines lucrativos y de los incentivos fiscales al mecenazgo. La duración del programa de apoyo será desde el 1 de julio de 2018 hasta el 31 de diciembre de 2020.

El pasado mes de julio, el Pleno del Ayuntamiento aprobó con los votos de todos los grupos excepto SSP (que se abstuvo), una moción en apoyo del Pleno a la propuesta del Real Club de Golf Valderrama de que el torneo Andalucía Valderrama Masters sea considerado acontecimien-

to o evento de interés general.

El alcalde de San Roque, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, destacó que “esta consideración puede suponer beneficios fiscales para las empresas patrocinadoras de hasta el 90% de la cantidad invertida”.

Esto supondrá que las empresas tengan un mayor interés en patrocinar y apoyar este evento.

Ahora toca reclamar a las empresas su patrocinio del torneo, para hacerlo más grande y más atractivo para las grandes figu-

ras del golf internacional y que el Andalucía Valderrama Masters sea considerado como el principal Torneo golfístico del país y uno de los más importantes de Europa. El Real Club Valderrama acogerá entre los próximos días 19 al 22 de octubre el torneo Andalucía Valderrama Masters, competición incluida en el PGA European Tour que contará con la participación de 150 jugadores profesionales del más alto nivel.

Masters cuenta con el apoyo de la Consejería de Turismo y Deporte de la Junta de Andalucía, que ha suscrito un acuerdo de continuidad para los próximos cinco años, así como el apoyo del golfista español Sergio García y su fundación.

Con una previsión de afluencia diaria media de más de 15.000 espectadores, el Andalucía Valderrama Masters generará una extraordinaria promoción internacional para el municipio de San Roque a través de la te-

levisión del European Tour, con una audiencia potencial de más de 400 millones de hogares en cinco continentes, con 15 horas de retransmisión en directo en mercados tan importantes para el destino como Reino Unido, Francia o Estados Unidos, entre otros.

PGA European Tour creó, con efecto desde la temporada 2017, una nueva categoría, denominada Rolex Series, que aglutina los torneos más importantes del año con el objetivo de reforzar el circuito europeo frente al americano. En la actualidad, PGA European Tour valora seriamente la posibilidad de que el Andalucía Valderrama Masters pueda convertirse en el próximo Rolex Series. Su consecución requiere la colaboración de importantes patrocinadores.La aprobación de un programa de apoyo a este evento podrá facilitar la posible declaración del Andalucía Valderrama Masters como el primer Rolex Series en España, y permitirá además asegurar la celebración anual del torneo y su crecimiento.

Las magníficas instalaciones del Club de Golf La Reserva acogieron una nueva prueba del International Seniors Club.

Una prestigiosa competición en la que cerca de medio centenar de participantes, de gran nivel, se enfrentaron al siempre competitivo trazado de La Reserva Golf. Con el apoyo de varias firmas, entre ellas Jyske Bank, el eventó se celebró entre el 4 y 6 de abril en el magnífico complejo deportivo.

La última jornada tomó inicio con François Illouz en el liderato, con 4 golpes de ventaja sobre Hans Ivarrson. Ventaja que le fue insuficiente y que le llevó a disputar un playoff de desempate contra Claes Kinell que

perdió, llevándose el triunfo y la protocolaria chaqueta este último. Adrian Morrow finalizó en el tercer puesto del cajón compartiendo medalla de bronce y clasificación con el mítico Manolo Piñero, alma mater de La Reserva Club en los últimos tiempos y que también participó en el torneo.

Destacar algunos nombres propios que también tomaron cita en la competición. Tales como el emblemático José María Cañizares, Gustavo Larrazábal o Álvaro Fernández Latorre.

International Senior Club dazzles in event at La Reserva Golf Claes Kinell takes victory in playoff after three magnificent days at the spectacular Sotogrande course. Manolo Piñero and José María Cañizares, some of the big names in the competition The magnificent facilities at Club de Golf La Reserva have hosted another event of the International Seniors Club. This prestigious competition brought together almost fifty participants, of a high level, at the always competitive La Reserva Golf course.

With the support of various companies, including Jyske Bank, the event took place between 4 and 6 April at the magnificent sports complex.

The last day began with François Illouz in the lead, with a 4 shot advantage over Hans Ivarrson.

The lead was not enough and this led him to a playoff against Claes Kinell which he lost, with the latter player taking victory and the customary jacket. Adrian Morrow ended in third place on

the podium, sharing the bronze medal and ranking with the legendary Manolo Piñero, alma mater of La Reserva Club in recent years, who also participated in the tournament.

It is worth highlighting some big names that also took part in the competition. Such as the emblematic José María Cañizares, Gustavo Larrazábal and Álvaro Fernández Latorre.

La Copa de las Naciones, en marcha en Sotogrande El torneo se disputa del 18 al 21 de abril en el Real Club de Golf Sotogande 1 M. Gil

Este miércoles, 18 de abril, comenzó la prestigiosa Copa Real Club de Golf de Sotogrande, Campeonato Europeo de Naciones, prueba de primer nivel que mide el potencial actual de las figuras en ciernes de los principales países con tradición golfística del continente. En esta ocasión el equipo español está integrado por la madrileña Blanca Fernández, la donostiarra Natalia Aseguinolaza y la almeriense Marina Escobar, en categoría femenina, y el malagueño Ángel Hidalgo, el cordobés

Víctor Pastor, el zaragozano Jorge Maicas y el madrileño Adrián Mata en la masculina. Mar Ruiz de la Torre y Pablo Fisas hacen las veces de capitanes, y Salvador Luna, las de técnico.

La competición vuelve al RCG Sotogrande, que acometió hace dos años unas obras de restauración completa que han desembocado en un recorrido de factura espectacular, con unos greenes que retomaron su tamaño original, una calles 100% bermuda, nuevos tees de negras...

Según establece el reglamento, cada país participante presenta un equipo masculino compuesto por 4 jugadores y otro femenino formado por 3 jugadoras, cuyos resultados diarios –los tres mejores en el caso de los chicos; los dos mejores en el caso de las chicas– son computados para establecer la clasificación. La competición se celebra bajo la modalidad “stroke play” (juego por golpes) a lo largo de los cuatro días que dura la prueba. Paralelamente a ésta se disputa la competición individual.

Cria PX-La Isla se alza con el Torneo de Apertura de Santa María Polo Club 1 Manuel Gil

El Torneo de Apertura en el Santa María Polo Club finalizó con la victoria del equipo Cria PX-La Isla sobre Sapphire-Bayswater, en las canchas de Los Pinos. Con esta competición, arrancó la actividad deportiva anual del club, que se prolongará durante toda la primavera hasta el comienzo, en julio, del Torneo Internacional de Polo, la gran cita del verano.

Tras dos días de competición el equipo de Cria PX-La Isla, inte-

grado por Xeres González, Rosendo Torreguitar, Pelayo Berazadi, y Pedro Beca, logró imponerse a Sapphire-Bayswater por 8 a 5 en la final, en una jornada que comenzó con lluvia para dar paso al sol. Previo a este partido, se decidió el tercer y cuarto puesto, en el que Don Carlos venció a Inglesham Polo Centre por 8 a 7. Ambos encuentros estuvieron ajustados hasta el final, con jugadas emocionantes y rápidas.

Cria PX-La Isla conquista el Memorial José Ignacio Domecq El equipo Cria PX-La Isla se proclamó vencedor de la trigésimo novena edición del Memorial José Ignacio Domecq, celebrado en el Santa María Polo Club. Un total de cinco equipos participaron en este evento deportivo, habitual del periplo vacional de Semana Santa en Sotogrande.

En la cita participaron los equipos de: Sapphire-Bayswater, Cria PX- La Isla, Don Carlos, Inglesham Polo Team y Santa María; cuya competición se celebró durante tres jornadas en las canchas las canchas de Los Pinos. Cria PXLa Isla, conjunto integrado por Xerxes González, Rosendo Torreguitar, Pelayo Berazadi y Pedro Beca, se impuso en los dos cruces que les tocó en sorteo. El primer día vencieron 1-9 a Don Carlos, y en el desenlace vencieron 6-3 a Sapphire-Bayswater.

Cria PX-La Isla wins José Ignacio Domecq Memorial The team Cria PX-La Isla was crowned winner of the thirty-ninth edition of the José Ignacio Domecq Memorial Polo Tournament, held at Santa María Polo Club. A total of five teams participated in this sports event, a tradition of the Holy Week holiday period in Sotogrande. The event involved the participation of the teams: Sapphire-Bayswater, Cria PX- La Isla, Don Carlos, Inglesham Polo Team and Santa María; and the competition was held over three days at the pitches of Los Pinos. Cria PXLa Isla, the team formed by Xerxes González, Rosendo Torreguitar, Pelayo Berazadi and Pedro Beca won the two encounters that they got in the draw. On the first day they won 1-9 against Don Carlos, and in the final game they won 6-3 against Sapphire-Bayswater.

This competition marked the start of the club´s annual sporting activity, which will extend throughout all of spring until the start, in July, of the International Polo Tournament, the big event of the summer.

by Xeres González, Rosendo Torreguitar, Pelayo Berazadi, and Pedro Beca, managed to beat Sapphire-Bayswater 8-5 in the final, on a day that began with rain before the sun came out. Before this match, third and fourth place were decided, with Don Carlos earning an 8-7 victory over the Inglesham Polo Centre. Both games were close until the end, with exciting and fast play.

El ‘Marbella Team’ reina en aguas de Sotogrande Paso de gigante para el monotipo Marbella Team en el VII Circuito de J/80 Marina de Sotogrande/Land Rover al imponerse de forma contundente en el séptimo asalto resuelto con siete pruebas.

El barco de los armadores Pepequín Orbaneja y Juan Luis Páez se convirtió el primer líder del Trofeo de Verano y aumenta de forma considerable su ventaja en la general provisional tras anotar cinco victorias y dos segundos puestos en esta última. Al mismo tiempo, el barco con bandera compartida entre el CN Sevilla y el RCM Sotogrande lograba el título de campeón de Andalucía de J/80 y en este caso imbatido frente al conjunto de barcos con matrícula andaluza. En la clasificación absoluta del fin de semana, el Marbella Team encontró su principal rival en el PF Team de Petter Fjellstad con bandera noruega, ganador de las dos pruebas restantes y peleando siempre en el grupo de cabeza. El barco del CN Bevelle tiraba de rentas para ser el segundo mejor de la convocatoria ya que tenía que utilizar el descarte para deshacerse de un retirado en la última manga por la rotura de su Spi. El podio lo completaba el defensor del título autonómico, el Urban Arkimedes de John Bassadone, subcampeón de Andalucía tras una de sus actuaciones más irregulares.

Por lo que respecta al campeonato de Andalucía, el Marbella Team de Orbaneja y Páez y una tripulación que completan Jose Manuel Ruiz Luque, Josemi Segura y su hijo Andrés Segura, recuperaban el título después de cuatro años, escoltados en el podio autonómico por el defensor del título, John Bassadone, esta vez a los mandos del Urban Arkimedes, y el PAS Team de Caine Federico y Pablo Villar, tercero. Classical Dressage takes centre stage at Dos Lunas The club is hosting the CDN*** Dressage Competition Dos Lunas ANCCE Cup on 21 and 22 April Sotogrande, the favourite home of horses. The best Classic Dressage is returning to Sotogrande this weekend, specifically on 21 and 22 April, to one of the main national equestrian benchmarks: Dos Lunas Dressage & Polo. The impressive facilities at this fabulous complex, a stone´s throw from Sotogrande, are hosting a new CDN*** Dressage Competition Dos Lunas ANCCE Cup; an event that will be attended by close to one

hundred pairings.

Dos Lunas is thus holding one of its classic events at the start of the season with the equestrian world and preparing a fantastic championship during said weekend in April, a similar date to that chosen in other years. 2018 got off to a strong start at the club, a stone´s throw from Sotogrande, with a competition in April and an elite clinic from the Spanish Federation.

The events at stake: Preliminary 4 years, Preliminary 5 years, Preliminary 6 years, Preliminary Young Horses 7 Years (San Jorge), Grand Prix, Classic I, Intermediate, Under-12’s Teams and Singles, Under-14’s Teams and Singles, Ponies Teams and singles, Under-19´s 0E Teams and singles, Under-19´s Teams and singles, YR Teams and singles (San Jorge), Grand Prix, Grand Prix (U25) and Intermediate II.

It was a giant step for the monotype Marbella Team in the VII Sotogrande Marina/Land Rover J/80 Circuit as they enjoyed a resounding victory in the seventh event that has settled with seven heats.

The boat of the skippers Pepequín Orbaneja and Juan Luis Páez become the first leader of the Summer Trophy and considerably extended its lead in the general rankings after earning five victories and two second places in the latter. At the same time, the boat with a flag shared between CN Seville and RCM Sotogrande earned the title of Andalusian J/80 Champion and this case undefeated against the series of Andalusian vessels. In the overall weekend rankings, Marbella Team found its main rival in the PF Team of Petter Fjellstad flying under a Norwegian flag, winner of the two remaining events and always battling with the leading group. The CN Bevelle boat made the most of its advantage in order to finish second in the event as it had to avail of a rule out in order to shake off a retirement in the last heat due to the breakage of its Spi. The podium was completed by the defender of the regional title, the Urban Arkimedes of John Bassadone, runner-up in Andalusia following one of its most inconsistent performances.

With regard to the Andalusian Championship, Marbella Team formed by Orbaneja and Páez and a crew completed by Jose Manuel Ruiz Luque, Josemi Segura and his son Andrés Segura, regained the title after four years, accompanied on the regional podium by the defender of the title, John Bassadone, this time in charge of Urban Arkimedes, and the PAS Team of Caine Federico and Pablo Villar, in third. Following this latest event and with two still to go, the provisional overall rankers now has 32 events and has in Marbella Team a reliable leader with more than a 20-point lead over Bassadone’s Urban Arkimedes. Variations exist based on bicycle type and

A bicycle’s environmental sustainability is about more than just low embodied energy. If enough people switch from polluting transport modes to a bicycle – a zero emission form of transport when in use – there is potential for reduced carbon emissions and improved air quality in our cities.
