Puertas abiertas, de par en par Como un soplo de aire fresca entra la primavera y se hace notar en la zona, como cada año, señal despegue de la campaña turística y el reinicio de la actividad, con mayúsculas en la urbanización y alrededores. Llega la Semana Santa y como es tradición desde los inicios de este destino, Sotogrande se convierte en uno de los lugares más demandadas para disfrutar de unos excelentes días de abril. Como siempre, Sotogrande despierta, por decirlo así. Vuelven los vecinos temporales, regresan las caras más conocidas de la urbanización, la vida en las terrazas y por supuesto, el buen tiempo playas y buenos ratos de comunidad. Santa María Polo Club reúne buena parte de la afluencia de público y de la atención durante la Semana Santa con el inicio de su temporada de primavera y clásicos torneos memoriales. Junto con el mercadillo de los domingos, siempre es un plan perfecto para disfrutar de unos días de descanso y pasar un buen rato tomando algo, mientras ves cualquier ‘jugadón’ de un Torreguitar o un Isola. Aunque este año, ése mismo protagonismo estará compartido con la apertura de The Beach, en su segunda temporada. El intenso levante y días de lluvia intermitente se hacen notar en la urbanización, especialmente, en las zonas costeras siendo la playa de Sotogrande, en la franja de Trocadero, uno de los puntos en los que más afectados

El temporal arremete con fuerza en Sotogrande Manuel Gil Ruge. El fuerte temporal que durante estas dos semanas está arremetiendo a buena parte del sur del país y especialmente en la zona del Estrecho y Comarca del Campo de Gibraltar, se hace notar y con insistencia estos días también en Sotogrande, de manera más incidente en toda la parte litoral. Las imágenes que

ilustran esta información dejan como hecho palpable las consecuencias que está acarreando este fuerte temporal en aspectos como desplome de ramas a lo largo de la urbanización o una importante rebaja del terreno en la playa de Sotogrande. Especialmente, en toda la zona del Club de Playa Trocadero So-

En definitiva, afectando de manera notable a toda la franja de playa de ese tramo de la

playa de Sotogrande y especialmente del área de Trocadero. Olas de importante altura, la playa de Torreguadiaro y Cala Sardina con grandes lagunas y entradas de agua, o la posible alerta ante la caída de árboles ramas centraron las principales preocupaciones en las horas de mayor fuerza del temporal.

Golf Estate aterriza en San Roque Club Manuel Gil San Roque Club se integra en el atractivo e interesante proyecto de Golf Estate, una empresa dedicada a la gestión, desarrollo y marketing de golf siendo el primer intermediario de gestión de operaciones y golf en Rusia. Tras su desembarco en la zona, se llevó una presentación oficial antes los socios por parte de su presidente, Dmitry Kozachenko, y el director de proyectos, Stephen Dundas, en el que anunciaron la incorporación de The San Roque Club dentro del gran proyecto de Golf Estate. Golf Estate gestiona ya dos clubes de golf en Rusia por lo que San Roque Club pasaría formar parte de esta lista siendo su primera entidad gestionada en España. Tal y como indico Dundas, se trata de “un día Histórico para The San Roque Club”. Detalla que uno de los motivos para decantarse por la adquisición de este club fue conocer que los socios estaban intentando comprarlo, algo que les demostró “lo importante que es el club para los so-

cios y como han cuidado de él”. Entre los proyectos a corto y largo plazo para The San Roque Club cabe destacar la inversión y remodelación del Old Course en su totalidad, comenzando con los primeros 9 hoyos en este año 2019 para que al término de Junio 2021, esté totalmente reformado (nuevos Bunkers, nuevo sistema de riego...). Este ambicioso proyecto, tanto la casa Club como las instalaciones de restauración también experimentarán grandes mejoras,

San Roque Club is joining the attractive and interesting project of Golf Estate, a company devoted to the management, development and marketing of golf, and the leading broker of the management of operations and golf in Russia. Following its arrival in the area, an official presentation was given to the members by its president, Dmitry Kozachenko, and the project director, Stephen Dundas, where they announced the incorporation of The San Roque Club into the big project of Golf Estate. Golf Estate already manages two golf clubs in Russia therefore San Roque Club will form part of this list, and is the first entity in manages in Spain. As Dundas indicated, it is a “Historic day for The San Roque Club”. It outlined that one of the reasons for opting for the purchase of this club was finding out that the members were trying to purchase it, which showed them “how important the club is for members and how they have looked after it”. Among the short and long-term projects for The San Roque Club, it is worth highlighting the investment and complete remodelling of the Old Course, beginning with the first 9 holes

in 2019, so that it is completely revamped by the end of June 2021 (new bunkers, new irrigation system...). This ambitious project, both the Club house and the restaurant facilities will also get big improvements, in order to maximize the functional aspect in these areas, with regard to the plans of the well-known home of Tony Jacklin will be turned into a beautiful boutique hotel at the foot of the Old Course, thus offering clients an exclusive service in this area. The presentation ended with questions and answers, not just from the club captains who chaired the presidential table, but also the other attending members who expressed their enthusiasm and thanks to Golf Estate for this major project. In the words of the project director, Stephen Dundas, “The intention of GE is to turn The San Roque Club into an incredible place that the members feel proud to belong to and that visitors will want to return to soon again”. Stephen states that San Roque Club has all the potential to become of the best golf and holiday destination clubs both nationally and internationally, and that is the existing future project for San Roque Club.

Son expertos en gestión de golf y ya cuenta con una productiva trayectoria en Rusia, ¿así es? Sí, gestionamos dos campos en Rusia: Forest Hills en la región de Moscú y Peterhof en la de San Petersburgo. También participamos en otros proyectos que sirven para fomentar el golf en el país.

Estos son solo algunos de los planes, pero tenemos muchos más. ¿Se puede hablar de inversiones? Podríamos decir que va a haber una inversión considerable en los principales aspectos del negocio. Me gustaría poder dar una cifra, pero

será importante. ¿Qué opinión les merece Sotogrande? Se trata de uno de los destinos de mayor calidad de golf en menor número de kilómetros cuadrados. Sotogrande es un lugar verdaderamente especial. You are experts in golf management and already have a productive trajectory in Russia, no? Yes, we manage 2 courses in Russia, Forest Hills in Moscow Region and Peterhof in St Petersberg.We are also involved in other projects that are helping to grow the game of golf in the country. Your work encompasses all the areas of a club, not just the sporting aspect? Correct, we are involved in team building, project strategy, F and B, sales and marketing and recruitment.

How did you come into contact with San Roque Club? As you know the golf community is very small and we had been looking at several properties in Spain for the past 6-9 months. As soon as people here you are looking to buy a project its amazing how many offers you get. Can you give us some details about the operation? Is it a purchase? The best person to talk to about that is Dmitry Kozachenko, the president of Golf Estates but the future of the club is secure. What condition was the club in? Considering the recent problems, on the surface the condition of the club

is not bad but for a club like San Roque it is no where near good enough. What makes you choose a club of these characteristics? The choice was easy. Its San Roque, once regarded as a top 10 course in europe. The potential is incredible and we are very excited to get started. What are the short and medium-term plans for San Roque Club? Short term is to work with the staff to give them a clear picture and direction of the future and to give them the tools to be able to do their jobs properly. Take back control of our restau-

rant and create a place where people are happy to come and eat. Start renovation of the first 9 holes of the old course. Medium term is to complete the renovation of the course, renovate the clubhouse and turn the Tony Jacklin house into a small hotel. This is just some of our plans but there are many more. Is it possible to talk about investments? We can say that there will be considerable investment in the key areas of the business. I wouldnt like to put a figure on it but it will be significant. What is your opinion of Sotogrande? It is one of the destinations with the highest quality of

golf within the lowest number of square kilometres. Sotogrande truly is a special place. I have been coming here for the past 4 years and the whole atmosphere, lifestyle and of course golfing experience is just magnificent. Do you have any messages for the members and golfing community of Sotogrande, as a welcome? The first thing i would say is thank you for the very warm welcome, everyone has truly been fantastic. La urbanización exige mostrar siempre su mejor imagen, más en fechas claves Sotogrande, como urbanización residencial de lujo, tiene el deber y obligación de ofrecer unos estándares de mantenimiento y conservación al más alto nivel. Y si bien, en líneas generales así se cumple por parte de los organismos pertinentes; este mismo listón debe situarse en todas las áreas, más si cabe, en periodos claves del calendario como Semana Santa. La ribera del río, con el camino cortado desde hace años y acumulando basura en los bajos del puente. El acceso a la playa de Sotogrande o los arcenes en las diferentes entradas a la urbanización, distan mucho del alto nivel que se requiere en un destino como Sotogrande.

“San Roque es el municipio en el que más licencias de obras se ﬁrman de toda la provincia” Manuel Gil Me alegro de saludarle. Estando en tiempo pre-electoral y viendo las importantes inversiones y planes urbanísticos que se proyectan para la zona del Valle del Guadiaro, ¿crecerá demandado sector hotelero? El actual PGOU de San Roque contempla la creación de 1.000 nuevas camas hoteleras. En estos momentos se encuentran en marcha varios contactos para la construcción de nuevos hoteles en el municipio, entre los que destacan uno de 120 habitaciones en La Alcaidesa y otro en Torrecarbonera que incluye también una zona residencial. Por supuesto, tampoco me olvido de Santa María Polo, en cuyo proyecto para Los Pinos se prevén 200 camas hoteleras. Ni tampoco una propuesta para Torreguadiaro, en unos suelos donde sólo hace falta la inversión, ya que no es necesaria ni la modificación del PGOU. El Hotel Almenara tiene previsto dar un salto de calidad, ¿cierto? El nuevo objetivo es convertir dicho establecimiento en un cinco estrellas, para lo que hay prevista una inversión de cinco millones de euros. Además de la licencia para reformar las cien habitaciones ahora existentes, desde Sotogrande SA se pretende ampliar a 150, y ha pedido al

Ayuntamiento que le apoye a la hora de obtener las autorizaciones administrativas pertinentes ¿Y viviendas? San Roque es el municipio donde en estos momentos su alcalde firma más licencias de obras que en toda la provincia de Cádiz y de los tres primeros de Andalucía. De manera que actualmente hay con licencia más de 600 viviendas previstas y algunas en ejecución. Por citar algunas, hay promociones como las 120 nuevas viviendas entregadas en las últimas semanas en Alcaidesa y la concesión de una nueva licencia para más de cien; la apuesta de una empresa inversora para 50 viviendas en San Roque Club; y tres promociones en Sotogrande, una de ella en La Marina. ¿Eso se ha traducido en generación de empleo en este mandato? Evidentemente y de mancera acentuada. De los 1.600 empleos creados en los últimos años en San Roque, el mayor descenso (un 48%) se ha dado en el sector de la construcción gracias a esta actividad promotora, además de que también ha repercutido con una subida del empleo en el sector servicios. Para que todo ello se consolide es

necesario que los promotores e inversores vean una serie de garantías y seguridades… Además de un nivel de autoexigencia muy alto por parte de la Administración a la hora de hacer los deberes para facilitar estos proyectos, es importante que los inversores vean un gobierno estable que los respalda, los apoya y defiende sus proyectos. Y por supuesto, que comparte su ilusión. Que somos capaces de luchar contra otras administraciones y tumbar las barreras que se puedan encontrar. como el IBI se encuentran en el mínimo que permite la Ley, además de que el municipio disfruta de una rica oferta cultural y deportiva. ¿Qué le parece la gran apuesta que está haciendo Sotogrande S.A. para La Reserva con innovadores conceptos como ‘The Beach’? Cuando se presentó el proyecto, por parte de Marc Topio [CEO de Sotogrande S.A. y su equipo], algunos pensarían que estaba loco por querer traer una playa al campo, a la sierra, y convertir en una playa lo que iba a ser el décimo campo de golf del municipio. Y si bien es cierto que se toparon con algunas dificultades, principalmente para obtener permisos hidrológicos, la autorización llegó a finales de 2017 y el complejo se inauguró a mediados de julio de 2018 con un gran éxito. Espero que tenga la misma afluencia que el año pasado porque se crearon 85 empleos temporales a los que hay que sumar los empleos indirectos. Todo ello se encuentra dentro de un gran plan de inversiones del compañía para el municipio de San Roque… Sotogrande SA ha invertido más de diez millones de euros en el municipio en sólo cuatro años a través de The Beach y de un nuevo proyecto:

El Mirador, un complejo de seis villas de lujo en construcción. Tampoco podemos olvidar la apuesta de esta empresa por revitalizar la Rivera del Marlin, haciéndola más accesible y fomentando la actividad comercial, de manera que los locales que estaban vacíos se han ido abriendo con nuevos negocios. Y en cuanto a El Mirador, serán unas villas de excelencia, de alta calidad, que cuando se entreguen podrán generar hasta diez puestos de trabajo, muy necesarios en el municipio. Ahora que cita de nuevo el empleo, parece que se ha conseguido encauzar la situación de San Roque Club para tranquilidad de su plantilla. El propietario de una de las villas de El Mirador pudo conocer el proyecto de San Roque Club y sus dificultades, de manera que el fondo de inversión que representa ha adquirido San Roque Club tras llevar desde otoño del año pasado en concurso de acreedores voluntario. Esta sucesión de circunstancias permitirá mantener los 52 empleos de dicho campo de golf. ¿La gestión de su equipo de gobierno ha sido clave para este crecimiento del terreno urbanístico y turístico? Así lo entendemos. Espero que los próximos gobiernos sigan cuidando este sector deportivo e inmobiliario para que San Roque sea una inversión segura como lo ha sido en estos últimos cuatro años, lo que ha supuesto que sigan apostando tantas nuevas empresas en el municipio. De cara al nuevo ciclo que se inicia el próximo mayo, con las elecciones municipales, seguiremos trabajando aún con mayor fuerza en este sentido

“De aquí en adelante, cLos políticos parecen vendedores en un mercado, voceando las excelentes cualidades de sus productos, y los votantes parecemos clientes que buscamos y compramos lo que más se ajusta a nuestras necesidades. ...”

Los votantes no son clientes Las campañas electorales evocan la competencia de oferentes en busca de demandantes. Los políticos parecen vendedores en un mercado, voceando las excelentes cualidades de sus productos, y los votantes parecemos clientes que buscamos y compramos lo que más se ajusta a nuestras necesidades. Pero la política es distinta del mercado. Aunque somos las personas las que actuamos en los dos ámbitos, en el mercado somos los protagonistas exclusivos, como subraya el premio Nobel de Economía, James Buchanan: “En la elección del mercado, el individuo es el ente que actúa o elige, y también el ente para el cual se realiza la elección. En los votos, el individuo es el ente que actúa o elige, pero la colectividad es el ente para el cual se toman las decisiones”. Además, en nuestras decisiones en el mercado no interferimos con los derechos y libertades de los demás: rara vez sucede que si usted compra una cosa, nadie más puede comprarla. El mercado, así, respeta a las minorías, pero en la política los que pierden las elecciones comprueban que sus preferencias son avasalladas por las preferencias vencedoras.

Al contrario del mercado, en las elecciones políticas el número de opciones es muy reducido, y a menudo los ciudadanos no eligen lo que desean sino lo que consideran el mal menor. Esa situación es inconcebible en la economía: imagínese que en Sotogrande sólo pudiéramos comprar cuatro o cinco cosas, nada más, y nos obligaran a elegir la menos mala. Asimismo, como en el mercado elegimos bienes tangibles, y en las urnas votamos puras expectativas, la tentación de los políticos de engañarnos, y la posibilidad de hacerlo —típicamente, ocultando los costes de lo que nos prometen—, son mayores. ¿Y qué va a suceder en las próximas elecciones? Pues ahí observamos otra diferencia entre los votantes y los clientes. Cuando compramos algo en un mercado, tenemos en general una idea clara de lo que hemos comprado: sabemos que es pescado y no vino. Pero en política solo sabemos realmente lo que votamos cada uno de nosotros, y nadie es capaz de anticipar con precisión lo que votarán los demás. La gente puede votar de forma imprevista y sorprendente. Lo saben bien nuestros amigos del Reino Unido.

Politicians appear like market sellers, extolling the excellent qualities of their products, and voters are like customers who seek and purchase what best suits our needs. However, politics is different to the market. Although it is people that act in both sectors, in the market we are the exclusive figures, as the Nobel Prize winner in Economics, James Buchanan highlights: “In market choice the individual is the acting or choosing entity, as well as the entity for which choices are made. In voting, the individual is an acting or choosing entity, but the collectivity is the entity for which decisions are made”. Also, in our decisions in the market we do not interfere with the rights and freedoms of others: rarely is it the case that if you buy something, nobody else can buy it. Thus, the market respects minorities, but in politics, those who lose elections find that their preferences are subjugated by the preferences of the victors. Unlike the market, in political elections, the number of op-

tions is very small, and often citizens do not choose what they want but rather what they consider to be the lesser evil. This situation is unthinkable in the economy: imagine that in Sotogrande we were only able to purchase four or five things, nothing else, and that we were obliged to choose the least bad one. Likewise, in the market we choose tangible goods, and at the ballot box we vote for pure expectation, the temptation of politicians to deceive us, and the chance to do it -typically, by hiding the costs of what they promise- is very big. What is going to happen in the upcoming elections? Well, let´s look at another difference between voters and customers. When we purchase something in a market, we generally have a clear idea of what we have purchased: we know that it is fish and not wine. However, in politics we only really know what each of us votes for, and nobody is able to precisely foresee what others will vote for. People can vote in unforeseen and surprising ways. Our friends in the United Kingdom are well aware of this.

Destacar que los medios de comunicación online son los portales más utilizados en la red (60%), sólo superados por las Redes Sociales, buscadores y portales masivos de compra online (rivales muy alejados y centrados en otros segmentos de mercado). La asociación Acumar reclama más compromiso a la hora de resolver la creación de la EUC de la Marina de Sotogrande, un proceso que se alarga desde 2015 y aseguran no dudar en acudir a la justicia si fuese necesario

La EUC de la Marina de Sotogrande, el cuento de nunca acabar Manuel Gil La Asociación de Consumidores y Usuarios de La Marina (Acumar), que asevera representar a un colectivo de casi mil propietarios de los 1.189 de La Marina de Sotogrande, manifestó a través de un comunicado su “más profunda indignación por la paralización de los trámites para constituir la Entidad Urbanística de Conservación (EUC) de La Marina”. Una demora que para esta entidad está provocando “la dejadez progresiva en la prestación de servicios que Sotogrande S.A. está obligada a brindar, pese a que los cobra y lo que es peor, la situación de inacción por parte del Ayuntamiento, a pesar de los requerimientos realizados, lo que está causando a los propietarios un perjuicio y sobrecoste de más de un millón y medio de euros cada año que

pasa sin constituirse la EUC. Así llevamos, al menos, diez años”, asegura. Estos vecinos de la Marina reclaman llevar más de “cinco años de negociaciones con el Ayuntamiento de San Roque” y aseguran que esperan que “el Ayuntamiento exija a Sotogrande S.A. cumplir con el requerimiento que le envió para que, en el plazo de “dos meses”, terminara las obras de la urbanización”, situación que se produjo en 2015. Ante la pasividad de ambas entidades y después de tres años de cartas y reuniones, en septiembre de 2018 Acumar presentó, por medio de su abogado, un requerimiento formal al Sr. Alcalde de San Roque, Juan Carlos RuizBoix, para que pusiera fin a esta “total irregularidad, y evitar el inicio

de los procedimientos judiciales. Estamos en marzo de 2019 y la situación no ha cambiado en estos seis meses, lamentablemente”. El 23 de febrero del pasado año se publicó el proyecto de Estatutos para la constitución de la EUC en fase de alegaciones.

“Tras reuniones prácticamente mensuales y el compromiso del concejal de Urbanismo de que los estatutos irían al pleno de febrero, se produce un nuevo retraso, sin explicación alguna, y no tenemos seguridad de que se lleven a la sesión de marzo”, matizan.

“Queremos reiterar la indignación de la Asociación y hacer público que no dudaremos en acudir a la justicia para evitar la situación de abuso que vienen sufriendo los propietarios y usuarios de La Marina de Sotogrande”, sentencian.

“Crear una comunidad rica en servicios e infraestructuras es nuestro gran reto para Casares Costa ”

Manuel Gil Prácticamente alcanza la orilla su legislatura y uno de los principales retos de su mandato y equipo de gobierno fue impulsar y dinamizar la zona de la Costa de Casares. ¿Apuesta firmemente por su gran potencial? Por supuesto. Este equipo de gobierno se marcó como objetivo la firme puesta en valor del núcleo de Casares Costa. Recordar que este área, hasta hace poco, era un lugar de segunda residencia y ya se ha convertido en un núcleo de población muy demandado por muchísimos vecinos para instalarse con su familia. Desde 2014 hasta la actualidad la población ha aumentado en más de 1.300 personas (un 35% aprox.). Por ello, este Ayuntamiento no ha escatimado en esfuerzos para sumir diferentes actuaciones en infraestructuras, que aunque pertenecían a los promotores, debido a la última crisis tuvimos que hacer frente. Destacar que zonas como Doña Julia, Arroyo Parrilla o Majestic carecían de algo tan fundamental como el alumbrado público. La gestión municipal ha conseguido, paulatinamente, ir afrontado todos estos retos y proyectos. Tenemos la satisfacción de haber consolidado esta importante apuesta en beneficio del municipio. ¿Cuáles son las claves del só-

lido desarrollo urbanístico que se está produciendo en la Costa de Casares? La clave principal: un desarrollo sostenible. Podemos presumir de tener una densidad de desarrollo urbanístico muy inferior a zonas limítrofes como Manilva o Estepona, estamos prácticamente a la mitad en cuanto a la edificabilidad. El desarrollo que hemos proyectado para Casares logra ese equilibrio perfecto entre los espacios urbanísticos, públicos y el entorno natural; uno de los grandes valores del municipio de Casares. ¿Estas inversiones suponen para el municipio un motor para la generación de empleo? Si. Y sin duda esa es la gran prioridad de este gobierno. No sólo en la búsqueda de esos puestos de trabajo a través del desarrollo urbanístico, sino con la formación. El Ayuntamiento ha llevado a cabo una importante inversión para consolidar sus propios planes de formación para cubrir la demanda de empleo existen en varias áreas. Háblenos del sector hotelero… En primer lugar, destacar que Casares cuenta con uno de los complejos hoteleros más prestigiosos y reconocidos de todo el continente, como es Finca Cortesín.

Afortunadamente, en la actualidad, Casares es un nombre de referencia en la Costa de Sol como uno de los principales destinos turísticos con una oferta integral de sol, mar, golf y turismo rural. Destacar el nuevo hotel ubicado en Doña Julia, cuyos activos han sido adquiridos por Platinum Estates; una apuesta para la que este equipo de gobierno ha realizado un gran esfuerzo en su desarrollo. Este nuevo hotel, cuyas obras veremos avanzar en los próximos meses, generará hasta más de 700 puestos de trabajo (400 de ellos directos) en la zona. Y no sólo nos quedamos aquí, tenemos sobre la mesa la proyección de otro hotel en la zona de Casares del Sol, un plan que aún está en proceso. Y por supuesto, recordar que Casares no sólo tiene costa. El

Ayuntamiento lleva tiempo trabajando en un plan para impulsar otro hotel que se ubicará en el interior, con otro enfoque, orientado hacia la doma clásica y la equitación. Un proyecto muy interesante que ya cuenta con los permisos medioambientales pertinentes y estamos a la espera de que se pida la licencia. Para que todo este desarrollo siga su curso, la gestión municipal debe ser muy ágil… Cuando llega un inversor, siempre y cuando encaje en nuestro concepto de desarrollos sostenible, espera una gestión urbanística de gran calidad. Ayuntamiento y técnicos hacen un gran trabajo y pese a que la administración a veces no es ágil, desde nuestros departamentos (jurídico, urbanístico),

¿Qué retos y desafíos le quedan a Casares Costa los próximos años? Crear comunidad. El gran valor de Casares no deben ser las grandes infraestructuras, que también, sino sus servicios. Casares es un pueblo modelo en este sentido y vamos a seguir trabajando en esa implantación en el núcleo de la costa. Comunidad educativa, escuelas de teatro o baile están ayudando a crear comunidad. Trabajamos en la obra de una guardería municipal y en crear nuevos espacios de recreo, ocio y parques. Queremos que los vecinos que viven durante todo el año puedan disfrutar del entorno tan maravilloso que tenemos. En Casares y El Secadero, donde la comunidad ya está asentada, seguimos planteando retos con ilusión. Retos que pasan por ofrecer los mejores servicios a nuestros vecinos, atentos a las demandas que nos plantean para conseguir un buen lugar para vivir.

What are the keys to the strong urban development that is taking place in Costa de Casares? The main key: sustainable development. We can boast of having an urban development density much lower than neighbouring areas such as Manilva and Estepona, we are practically at the midway point in terms of development potential. The development we have planned for Casares achieves the perfect balance between planning spaces, public spaces and the natural environment; one of the great assets of the municipality of Casares. Are these investments a driving force to create employment in the municipality? Yes. And that is certainly a major priority for this government. Not only in the quest to create

those jobs through planning development, but also through training. The Council has made a significant investment in order to consolidate its training plans in order to cover the employment demand that exists in several areas. Tell us about the hotel sector... Firstly, it is worth highlighting that Casares has one of the most prestigious and renowned hotel complexes on the continent; Finca Cortesin. Fortunately, at present, Casares is a benchmark name in the Costa de Sol, as one of the main tourist destinations with a comprehensive range of sun, sea, golf and rural tourism. It is worth highlighting the new hotel located in Doña Julia, whose assets have been purchased by Platinum Estates; a commitment for which this government team has made a great effort to develop. This new hotel, whose work will progress over the coming months will general up to more than 700 jobs (400 of

which are direct) in the area. And that isn´t everything, on the table we have plans for another hotel in the Casares del Sol area, a plan that is not yet underway. And of course, we should remember that Casares has more than coastline. The Council has spent time working on a plan to create another hotel that will be located inland, with another approach, targeted at classic dressage and equestrianism. It is a very interesting project that has the relevant environment permits and we are awaiting to request the license. In order for all of this development to continue its progress, municipal management needs to be very agile... When an investor arrives, provided that they fit our concept of sustainable development, they expect top quality planning management. The Council and technicians do great work and despite the fact that the administration is sometimes still not agile, at our departments (legal, urban planning), we work intensely to ensure that it takes as little time as possible. With regard to the granting of licences,

we are far below nearby areas. This results in greater assurance and guarantees for investors. What challenges remain for Casares Costa in coming years? Creating a community. The great value of Casares shouldn´t be its great infrastructures, but also its services. Casares is a model town in this regard and we are going to continue to work to implement that in the coastal hub. The educational community, theatre and dance schools are all helping to create a community. We are working to build a municipal nursery and to create new recreational and leisure spaces, and parks. We want residents who live here throughout the year to enjoy the really marvellous environment that we have. In Casares and El Secadero, where the community is already established, we continue to approach challenges with excitement. Challenges that depend on offering the best services to our residents, attentive to the requests that they make to us in order to achieve a good place to live.

The Council is publishing the Holy Week Magazine, installing a tent for Holy Week and helping the processions in the neighbourhoods. The mayor, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, indicated that “with this agreement we are collaborating with Holy Week 2019, which will be held from Good Friday, however for weeks now the Lent activities have been taking place”. La acción solidaria de La Caixa en el Valle del Guadiaro, sin descanso Voluntarios y trabajadores de la entidad bancaria organizan una jornada con los mayores de la Residencia La Milagrosa de San Enrique Manuel Gil La Residencia La Milagrosa de San Enrique acogió una merienda organizada por Voluntarios de “la Caixa”, que además incluyó un pequeño paseo por las inmediaciones del edificio, cerca de los campos de polo de Ayala. Se trata de una de las muchas iniciativas que la Fundación La Caixa organiza dentro de su compromiso con la obra social y beneficio de diferentes colectivos en la zona. En este caso, el objetivo principal pasaba porque los mayores disfrutasen de una entretenida y amena jornada. Según comentó uno de los voluntarios, “no se trata solo de trabajadores de La Caixa, sino también de algunos clientes de la entidad, que han querido sumarse a esta iniciativa de poder ofrecer a los mayores una tarde distinta para romper su monotonía”.

Formarse en Liderazgo Mediador Cuando me preguntan de qué van los cursos que doy sobre Liderazgo Mediador, explico que mediar es ayudar a transformar posturas hacia el consenso y que, en este sentido, mediar es una manera nueva de liderar que merece la pena aprender y ejercitar. This is one of the many initiatives that La Caixa Foundation organizes as part of its commit-

ment to social work and to benefit the different groups in the area. In this case, the main aim was for the elderly people to enjoy an entertaining and pleasant day. According to one of the volunteers, “this does not just involve employees of La Caixa, but also some of the entity´s clients, who

wanted to join this initiative in order to offer elderly people a different afternoon to break up the monotony”.

When I am asked about the courses that I give on Mediator Leadership, I explain that mediating is about helping to transform positions towards a consensus, and that, in this regard, mediating is a new means of leading that is worth learning and exercising. Normally, the courses are aimed at companies that want to train their workers in order to constructively redirect conflictive situations within their professional sector and carry out mediation between two or more people. However, as conflict arises in innumerable contexts, the skills acquired can be used to develop a creative and transformative perspective on one´s own and other people´s difficulties in other contexts, at a personal and family level.

Any conflict entails an opportunity to learn. Automating this belief means preventing stress, reducing costs in terms of time and money and obtaining better results with clients and at a team level. During training, the principles of mediation are analysed, along with key concepts, procedures, method, real conflicts where mediation has been used and lots of practice is carried out. Torreguadiaro, en defensa de su patrimonio histórico

Vecinos de la calle de la Iglesia protestan y reclaman frente a las obras para la restauración de la ‘Torre nueva’, por el posible nuevo aspecto

La plataforma vecinal de la Calle de la Iglesia se convierte en la generadora e impulsora de un movimiento de protesta ante el inicio de la obras para reforma y rehabilitación que el Ayuntamiento de San Roque está llevando a cabo en la “Torre Nueva” de Torreguadiaro. Tras acometer un plan de actuación y conservación en la Torre Quebrada (la que está situada junto a los aparcamientos de la playa de Torreguadiaro), una actuación no exenta de polémica y críticas tras su cuestionable resultado estético final; los problemas llegan ahora con la otra torre vigía. Los vecinos protestan por la ac-

tuación que se está llevando a cabo por parte del Consistorio y cuya ejecución, según explican los vecinos, “se basa en enfoscar y cubrir las paredes de cemento en lugar de realizar una cuidada labor de conservación y mantenimiento que respete su imagen actual, histórica y clásica”. Según la propia entidad vecinal, que congregó a varios representantes del colectivo e incluso convocó a los partidos de la oposición (el portavoz del PIVG, Jesús Mayoral se presentó frente a la torre), llevan años “luchando por rehabilitar de manera oportuna la torre y poder dotarla así como un espacio abierto destinado a un museo o sala de exposiciones

permanente”. “Con esto, lo que están consiguiendo es acabar con el único patrimonio de Torreguadiaro y convertirlo, estéticamente, en una especie de depósito de agua. Todo eso sin mencionar que se trata de un BIC [Bien de Interés

Cultural], por lo que llevaremos nuestras protestas a la Junta de Andalucía y dónde haga falta llegar ”, añadieron. El Periódico de Sotograde se puso en contacto con el propio Ayuntamiento, concretamente, con Óscar Ledesma, edil delegado de la zona del Valle del Guadiaro, para conocer más detalles del conflicto. El concejal asegura que la obra y reforma cuenta con todos los permisos pertinentes, incluidos los del Ministerio de Cultura y su regulada aprobación del proyecto. “La rehabilitación era esencial desde hace años ya que el viento y el salitre estaban provocando la erosión y destrucción de la propia

torre, con el peligro añadido del desprendimiento de grandes piedras desde la parte alta su estructura”, explica. “Fueron los propios vecinos los primeros en denunciar esta situación ya que ponía en serio peligro su tránsito y la seguridad de las viviendas colindantes”, añade. “Este proyecto estaba previsto desde hacía bastante tiempo pero precisamente, el contar con la aprobación de todos los estamentos y permisos necesarios, la ha demorado en el tiempo”, subraya el representante del gobierno local que apunta a que la ejecución de la rehabilitación era la única salida viable en este momento.

“ANTIGUOS ALUMNOS DE SOTOGRANDE”, UNA JORNADA PARA EL RECUERDO El pasado sábado, 13 de Abril se celebró en el Club de Playa El Octógono un evento en el que bajo en nombre “Antiguos alumnos de Sotogrande”, se dieron cita más de sesenta antiguos empleados de la fundadora de la urbanización Sotogrande, S.A.. Un acto que logró reunir a “antiguos empleados” que iniciaron allá por el año 1962 el proyecto que hoy representa Sotogrande. Participaron de la jornada antiguo personal de todas las áreas y épocas de la empresa e incluso algún empleado que aún continúa en la empresa.

On Saturday 13 April, El Octógono Beach Club held an event entitled “Former Sotogrande pupils” which brought together more than sixty former employees of the founding company of the resort Sotogrande, S.A. Manuel Gil Concierto de alumnos de la Escuela de Música Se han celebrado los Conciertos de Evaluación de los alumnos de la Escuela Oficial de Música San José. Los jóvenes músicos han interpretado diversas piezas y han demostrado el progreso alcanzado en los meses transcurridos desde el comienzo de sus

estudios. La Escuela tiene su sede en Estepona y ofrece enseñanzas regladas y no regladas en doce especialidades sinfónicas. Un año más, alumnos de Secundaria y Bachillerato han participado en el Modelo de Naciones Unidas Nueva York 2019. Los jóvenes delegados, representando a Finlandia y Afganistán, han trabajado duro en la sede de Naciones Unidas junto con estudiantes de otros países para formalizar acuerdos en materia de medio ambiente, economía sostenible, educación y derechos humanos. Han negociado con representantes de otros países las mejores alianzas para dar respuestas a problemáticas reales, actuales y de orden internacional.

Tras varios meses de ensayo, alumnos de Secundaria y Bachillerato que integran el grupo de teatro del Colegio han representado la obra “Los árboles mueren de pie”, de Alejandro Casona. Han tenido lugar dos funciones que han hecho las delicias de padres y compañeros.

Esta 2ª parte del trimestre ha sido prolífica y variada en cuanto a actividades complementarias y extraescolares.

Actividades complentarias y extraescolares Comenzamos con la visita a “Los humedales de Madrevieja” al cual asistieron el alumnado de 5º y 6º para que se sensibilicen a nivel medioambiental con actividades de avistamiento de aves, conocimiento de la flora y juegos lúdicos. Actividad enmarcada dentro de la oferta educativa del Ayuntamiento de San Roque que ofrece CEPSA Continuamos con “El estuario del río Guadiaro” también dentro de la oferta educativa del Ayuntamiento de San Roque ofrecida por Sotogrande en la que participaron el alumnado desde 4º hasta 6º y en el que pudieron avistar aves, efectos de las mareas en la playa, y subida a la torre de control así como un paseo en barco por las islas de Sotogrande. Hemos tenido unas jornadas de prevención y sensibilización del Bullying impartidas por Ángel Corvalán de Mayor- Net. Jornadas dirigidas a alumnado de 3º y 6º; a los primeros desde el perfil de prevención de acoso y a

los segundos para concienciación de los peligros de acoso en la red. El día de Andalucía, como otros años se ha realizado el desayuno andaluz ofrecido por el AMPA Cañahonda, destacando un año más la gran participación de las familias de nuestro centro. Además el alumnado de Infantil, 1º, 2º, 3 y 4º han realizado diversos bailes regionales de nuestra comunidad. Los mayores del centro, 5º y 6º han realizado una investigación sobre las ocho provincias andaluzas y han realizado una

exposición para las familias. Todo ello de puertas abiertas para las familias que han querido asistir. Para el día de la mujer se han realizado diversas actuaciones enmarcadas en ensalzar la labor de las mujeres anónimas que tenemos a nuestro alrededor, a través de diversas entrevistas que han realizado el alumnado y charlas a las que han asistido diferentes mujeres de nuestro alumnado. Llega como cada curso los carnavales y se celebran en nuestro centro

con una jornada de puertas abiertas a las familias con un desfile en el centro y con la temática de súper héroes, ha sido una jornada en la que han disfrutado los peques como los mayores. Otro años más, al llegar el mes de marzo con las admisiones para el curso siguiente hemos tenido una jornada de puertas abiertas en las que hemos enseñado nuestras instalaciones y hemos respondido a las preguntas de las nuevas familias. Educación Primaria han visitado las instalaciones de Amazonia y han podido pasar unas horas de aventura y diversión entre tirolinas y en un entorno de naturaleza. 1º y 2º ciclo se van a ver in situ los animales que están estudiando y deciden visitar el zoo de Castellar, un centro de rescate animal, una fundación creada para ayudar a los animales desamparados, en el que se puede interactuar con los animales creando un vínculo natural e inolvidable. Dentro de la oferta educativa del Ayuntamiento también se encuentran un Taller de Igualdad ofrecido para 6º de Primaria y talleres encaminados a la concienciación de los incendios forestales que ha nido dirigidas al alumnado desde 3º hasta 6º de Primaria. Y por último, esta semana nuestro alumnado de Primaria ha asistido a una obra de teatro en San Roque. La próxima semana irán los más peques del colegio.

Also, the Nursery pupils from

years 1, 2, 3 and 4 performed different regional dances of our community. The older pupils from the school, years 5 and 6 researched the eight provinces of Andalusia and gave a presentation to families. This was open to all the families who wanted to attend. On women´s day, different actions were carried out in order to extol the work of the nameless women around so, through different interviews that pupils carried out and talks attended by different girls from among our pupils. Like every year, the carnival arrived and our school held an open day for families with a parade at the

school and the theme of super heroes. It was a day enjoyed by both the children and adults. Once again this year, when March arrived, with the admissions for next year we held an open day where we displayed our facilities and responded to the questions of new families. In March, the 2nd and 3rd year primary pupils visited the facilities of Amazonia and were able to spend a few hours enjoying adventure and fun among zip wires and in a natural environment. Years 1 and 2 are going to see, in situ, the animals that they are studying and have decided to visit

Castellar zoo, an animal rescue centre, a foundation created to help destitute animals, where it is possible to interact with the animals, creating a natural and unforgettable link. As part of the educational offer of the Council, there is also an Equality Workshop, provided for year 6 Primary pupils and workshops aimed at raising awareness about forest fires targeted at Primary pupils from years 3 to 6. Lastly, this week our Primary pupils attended a theatre show in San Roque. Next week the school´s youngest pupils will visit the theatre.

Especial Renta 2018

Están obligados a presentar la declaración aquellas personas que tengan residencia habitual en territorio español o las personas físicas de nacionalidad española con residencia habitual en el extranjero que son contribuyentes del IRPF. El plazo de presentación del Impuesto sobre el Patrimonio es del 2 de abril al 1 de julio de 2019. Por lo que conviene conocer las novedades que llegan en esta campaña de la Renta que le ayudarán a incrementarán la cantidad que le sale a devolver en la declaración de la Renta o bien, disminuir, la cuantía a ingresar. Los contribuyentes con rendimientos del trabajo procedentes de dos pagadores inferiores a 12.643 euros no están obligados a declarar. Aunque el nuevo umbral es de 14.000 euros anuales, en el ejercicio 2018 solo aplica desde el 5 de julio, sin embargo, estos contribuyentes tendrán que presentar declaración si quieren recibir una eventual devolución. Para quienes cobren sus retribuciones del trabajo de un solo pagador se mantiene en 22.000 euros anuales. Los contribuyentes con rentas inferiores a 16.825 euros se beneficiarán de una reducción de su cuota, si bien en este ejercicio la reducción solo tiene efecto a partir del 5 de julio de 2018, por lo que la cantidad final se verá reducida en función de una serie de ajustes. Los ingresos correspondientes a las prestaciones de maternidad y paternidad cobrados en 2018 están exentos del pago de IRPF. Guardería; La novedad con efectos para el ejercicio 2018 estriba en que se podrán deducir 1.000 euros adicionales -a los 1.200 euros anuales que ya estaban en vigor de la deducción por maternidad- cuando el contribuyente que tenga derecho a la deducción hubiera satisfecho en el período impositivo gastos de custodia del

hijo menor de 3 años en guarderías o centros de educación infantil autorizados. Los contribuyentes que inviertan en empresas de nueva creación podrán deducirse un 30% de los importes, con una base máxima de deducción de 60.000 euros (hasta ahora era el 20% del importe con una base de 50.000 euros). Las rentas obtenidas en Ceuta y Melilla disfrutan de una deducción del 60% (hasta ahora era del 50%). Se incrementa la deducción por familia numerosa. El aumento es de 600 euros anuales (50 euros al mes) por cada hijo a partir del cuarto para la categoría general o del sexto para la categoría especial, pero en el ejercicio 2018 solo aplica de agosto a diciembre, con lo que la deducción máxima será de 250 euros. Se establece una deducción por cónyuge con discapacidad a cargo. Los Presupuestos establecen una deducción de 1.200 euros anuales (100 euros al mes), que en 2018 solo se aplicará en los meses de agosto a diciembre, con lo que la deducción máxima será de 500 euros. Desde el pasado 1 de enero de 2018 está en vigor una deducción a favor de aquellos integrantes de una unidad familiar en la que uno de sus miembros resida en otro Estado de la Unión Europea o del Espacio Económico Europeo, una circunstancia que les impide presentar declaración de la Renta conjunta. Con esta deducción se equipara la cuota a pagar por estos contribuyentes a la que hubieran soportado en el caso de que todos los miembros de la unidad familiar hubieran sido residentes fiscales en España. Desaparece la posibilidad de solicitar la “predeclaración” de la renta en papel, aunque el contribuyente podrá imprimir la vista previa de su borrador si quiere comprobarlo en papel.

With this deduction the fee to be paid by these tax payers is compared to that which they would have paid in the event that all the members of the were tax residents in Spain. The possibility of requesting a “pre-declaration” of income on paper has disappeared, however tax payers can print a preview of their draft declaration if they want to check it on paper.

La Ruta de los Búnkeres, una aventura de intriga e historia Es uno de los grandes atractivos turísticos y culturales en la zona. Docenas de participantes se agrupan en sus visitas guiadas para disfrutar de uno de los mejores planes a un paso de Sotogrande. Manuel Gil Llega el buen tiempo, la primavera afronta su periodo más selecto y son muchos los planes que se ofrecen a sólo un paso de Sotogrande. En este caso, la propuesta es de sobra conocida y no por ello menos atractiva e intrigante. Una dosis de deporte, una pizca de senderismo, algo de cultura y un gran tazón de historia y misterio del Siglo XX en el Campo de Gibraltar. De manera periódica, desde la Delegación de Turismo del Ayuntamiento de San Roque se llevan a cabo diferentes visitas guiadas por enclaves reconocidos del municipio, este caso, relatamos el programa a seguir durante la última edición de “La Ruta Misteriosa de la Segunda Guerra Mundial”, celebrada con más de 100 reservas hechas.

Destacar además, que en la última ocasión se trató de una ruta solidaria, ya que los asistentes trajeron alimentos no perecederos para donar a Cáritas San Roque. El itinerario discurrió por los municipios de San Roque y Algeciras, concretamente comenzando en el antiguo Cuartel Diego Salinas para luego subir al Mirador de Los Cañones para hablar de los espías en la zona y los oficiales del Ejército alemán que entrenaron en la Academia de Sargentos Provisionales en el

cuartel militar sanroqueño. También se habló brevemente de la fortaleza de Sierra Carbonera con sus más de 60 elementos defensivos (carreteras militares, búnkeres, reflectores, cañones antiaéreos, túnel, puestos de mando y refugios antiaéreos). A continuación el grupo se desplazó en coche al Enclave Arqueológico de Carteia en Guadarranque, para visitar el único búnker musealizado de Andalucía, ubicado en el Yacimiento gestionado por la Junta de Andalucía. La siguiente parada en la ruta fue en el municipio de Algeciras

,donde se desplazaron a la zona de Punta Carnero y Playa Getares, para realizar un sendero a pie de 4 km para ver la batería de artillería de costa de la época y otros 2 nidos de ametralladora con trinchera asociada. La ruta acabó en la zona sur de la Playa de Getares para ver uno de los búnkeres más grandes con dos plantas, cerca de la antigua estación ballenera. Cabe destacar que tanto Jordan como Calvente se vistieron de época, el primero como espía británico con traje, gafas de época y pipa, y el último de soldado del Ejército español con uniforme completo de 1943.

It is worth highlighting that both Jordan and Calvente wore costumes from the era, the first dressed as a British spy with a suit, glasses from the era and a pipe, and the latter as a solider from the Spanish army with a complete uniform from 1943.

Exposición y Concurso de Jóvenes Artistas 2019 M. G. Estudiantes de 5 colegios de la zona de San Roque han participado en el Concurso de Jóvenes Artistas del Arts Society de la Frontera. El evento fue una oportunidad única para los jóvenes artistas que pudieron exponer sus obras en un entorno real de exposición y además participar en el prestigioso concurso de The Arts Society de la Frontera. Ana Mª Luque Vera de 13 años ganó el Premio de Socios por segundo año consecutivo por su obra ‘Desaliento’. Juan Gómez Aguilera, 14 años, fue ganador

en la categoría de menores de 15 años con la pintura ‘Atardecer’ mientras que Iván González Niebla, 15 años, fue galardonado con el primer premio en la categoría de 15 a 18 años por su ‘Retrato de Walt Whitman’. Hubo una mención especial para Blanca Espinosa Rodríguez, una artista de 14 años con ceguera parcial, que creó la figura de yeso policromado ‘Y sin embargo existo’ a través del tacto. La obra de dos de los colegios se puso a la venta y el dinero recau-

dado fue donado a Somos tu Ola, una asociación sin ánimo de lucro que ayuda a las familias a recaudar dinero para niños, adolescentes y adultos que han sufrido amputaciones severas a causa de sepsis. Queremos agradecer especialmente a Iván, el ganador de la categoría 15 – 18 años que donó el importe íntegro de su premio de 200 Euros a esta causa tan digna. El Concurso de Jóvenes Artistas fue juzgado por los artistas Osvaldo Lobalzo y Néstor Plada y la galerista Maite Pérez.

Cerca del medio centenar de fotógrafos aficionados y profesionales participaron en el III Maratón Fotográfico “Ciudad de San Roque”, una actividad que organizan conjuntamente la Asociación Fotográfica Sanroqueña “Afosan” y las delegaciones municipales de Cultura y Juventud. Pese a lo desapacible de la jornada, este nutrido grupo de participantes comenzaron su andadura por las principales calles de San Roque. El presidente de Afosan, Cristóbal Rueda, explicó que habrá cinco premios de 100 euros correspondientes a cinco temas, y de entre los premiados saldrá el ganador del Primer Premio, de 300 euros. Además, habrá vales para los ganadores en la categoría juvenil de 100, 75 y 50 euros. Hay que reseñar que como novedad este año, tanto el Museo de San Roque (Carteia) como el Museo del Radioaficionado CB han abierto sus puertas para que los fotógrafos pudiesen sacar sus instantáneas, dado que uno de los temas elegidos es el de “Museos”. Los restantes temas propuestos por la organización son “Reflejos”, “Líneas”, “De Compras” y “3 ó más colores”, además de la fotografía de “Control”. Además de por las calles del Casco Histórico, un buen número de concursantes se han acercado a los distintos comercios, así como al mercadillo artesanal en el Casco.

Young Artists’ Exhibition and Competition 2019 Pupils from five local secondary schools participated in The Arts Society de la Frontera Young Artists’ Exhibition and Competition in March this year. The young artists were excited at this unique opportunity to present their artwork in a real exhibition environment and to take part in the prestigious Arts Society de la Frontera Competition. Ana Mª Luque Vera of 13 years won the Members’ Prize for the second year running with her work

‘Despondency’. Juan Gómez Aguilera, 14, won the under 15s prize with ‘Sundown’ and Iván González Niebla, 15, was awarded 1st prize for the 15 and over category for his ‘Portrait of Walt Whitman’. A special mention was made for Blanca Espinosa Rodríguez, a partially sighted artist of 14 years who created the polychrome clay figure ‘And yet I exist’ through touch. Work from 2 of the schools was put up for sale and the proceeds

were donated to Somos tu Ola, a not for profit association that helps families raise funds for children, adolescents and adults who have suffered severe amputations caused by sepsis. A very special thanks to Iván, the winner of the 15 – 18 years category, who donated his prize money, 200 Euros, in full to this very worthy cause. The Young Artists’ Competition was judged by artists Osvaldo Lobalzo and Néstor Plada and gallery director Maite Pérez.

Close to fifty amateur and professional photographers participated in the III “City of San Roque” Photography Marathon, an activity organised jointly by the Photographic Association “Afosan” and the municipal departments of Culture and Youth. Despite the unpleasant weather, the large group of participants began their walk around the streets of San Roque. Sotogrande disfruta del mar El proyecto de la Escuela de Vela Adaptada e Inclusiva Puerto de Sotogrande, una de las grandes iniciativas de introducción a la navegación de los últimos años.

Vela para todos en Sotogrande Manuel Gil Disfrutar del mar y de la navegación es, sin duda, uno de los grandes placeres que exclusivamente están al alcance de todos esos privilegiados que viven en el sur. Y de todos ellos, Sotogrande siente especial pasión por ello. La Escuela de Vela Adaptada e Inclusiva Puerto de Sotogrande se trata de uno de los proyectos más prometedores que los últimos se ha puesto en marcha en la zona. Esta iniciativa, que nace de la mano del Puerto de Sotogrande y del Real Club Marítimo de Sotogrande, pretende introducir a todos los interesados en el mundo de la navegación, gracias a una estrecha colaboración entidades reconocidas de la Comarca como Asansull o Fegadi, entre otras.

La primera piedra del proyecto se puso con la celebración, a lo largo de dos jornadas, del famoso ‘Bautismo del mar’. Los participantes en esta actividad disfrutaron de un agradable paseo en velero por las instalaciones del puerto deportivo y la Marina de Sotogrande. Todo ello para ir tomando contacto con el medio y despertando su interés y pasión por este increíble mundo. También, así, pudieron conocer las instalaciones de la Escuela de Vela del Real Club Marítimo Sotogrande, donde se impartirán las clases teóricas antes de seguir avanzando en la formación con los siguientes pasos. Destacar también, como otra de las firmas que apoyan el proyecto, la presencia de una unidad móvil y

efectivos de Helicópteros Sanitarios, expertos para velar la seguridad en todo momento (tanto en tierra, como en el agua), de los participantes en la Escuela de Vela Adaptada e Inclusiva. Alavela es otro de los colaboradores, agradecimientos a los que hay que sumar también el de voluntarios y monitores para que todo sea posible. Todo un lujo encontrase con actividades de este tipo que fomenten la adaptabilidad e inclusión de deportes y prácticas para personas independientemente de las capacidades, edad, sexo o rango.

Una campaña primaveral que entre finales de marzo, Semana Santa y mayo trae toda la emoción de uno de los deportes rey en la zona. Cuéntanos, cómo fueron tus inicios en el mundo del golf, de dónde te llega la pasión por este deporte. Indudablemente la afición al golf me llega de la mano de mi padre que fue profesional y es profesor. Te puedo decir que con sólo un año, ya me podías ver en casa practicando el swing con lo primero que pillaba, en muchos casos, un palo de fregona y una bola de navidad, incluso [ríe]. Aunque fue ya a los seis años de edad, más o menos, cuando comienzo a competir, por llamarlo así. En casa, por tus padres, el deporte es una cosa muy seria… Más que eso, es su gran pasión. Por

Siempre lo vi como un sueño y no creía que podía servir para esto, de manera profesional, hasta que me encontré jugando contra las mejores, compitiendo y ganando torneos, llegué a estar el ‘Top 3’ mundial amateur. Ahí me dí cuenta de que podía buscarme un hueco en el mundo del golf profesional. Háblanos de tu experiencia en Estados Unidos. Sinceramente, sólo guardo cosas

bien, pasando cortes en la LPGA. He firmado tres torneos dentro del top 12 pero hay que seguir trabajando. Hemos hecho una buena planificación tengo muy buen equipo a mi lado, con preparador físico y mental; y estoy convencida de que podemos alcanzar cosas muy buenas. Entre tus grandes citas del año, imagino que se encuentra el Torneo en La Reserva de Sotogrande. Tengo muchísimas ganas. Sé lo que es competir en La Reserva porque ya disputé la Copa de S. M. La Reina aunque me tocó jugar contra Carlota Ciganda, que me pasó por encima [ríe] pero también fue un aprendizaje. Es una fecha en rojo en el calendario y estoy deseando competir al más alto nivel en un reto tan bonito como éste que se plantea en Sotogrande. ¿Te veremos pelear por posiciones altas? Eso espero y ojalá sea así. Me veo que puedo tener opciones y voy a ir a por todas. Destacar también que La Reserva es un campazo y hay

Me ha enseñado a ser perseverante y no desistir en la lucha por mis objetivos. Tener la garra de fracasar y levantarte con más fuerzas. Te aporta una vida unida al deporte, una vida sana. Además, mis mejores amigas están el golf, no puedo estar más agradecida. ¿Algún campo preferido que no te cansas de jugar? Finca Cortesín, por supuesto. No sólo por el campo, por su increíble equipo humano, hacen una labor increíble. También me gusta mucho Las Brisas y otros campos de la zona son espectaculares como Real Club Valderrama o Real Club Golf Sotogrande.

También tengo debilidad por bailar, si no jugase al golf quizás me hubiese intentado abrir camino en el baile. También estar con mis amigas y viajar, pero no como ahora [ríe], para disfrutar de los lugares y hacer el turismo. Aunque la realidad es que ahora mismo me falta tiempo para casi todo. “Golf teaches life lessons every day” The Marbella Noemí Jiménez sat down with El Periódico de Sotogrande and explained her beginnings in golf, the difficulties of the professional world and good expectations in the LET tournament at La Reserva de Sotogrande (16-19 May) It is a pleasure to feature you on our pages Noemí. Tell us, how did you get started in the world of golf, where does your passion for this sport come from. Undoubtedly, the passion for golf comes from my father who was a professional and is now a coach. I can tell you that aged just one, I was already at home practising my swing, with whatever I could find, in many cases even with a mop stick and a Christmas ball (laughs). However, it was at the age of six, more or less, when I began to compete so to speak. At home, due to your parents, sport is very serious matter... More than that, it is their great passion Luckily, both have had very athletic careers, I have already explained my father´s case, in which it is necessary to add that due to his profession as a firefighter, physical activity was really essential. And in the case of my mother, in addition to doing triathlon, she obtained a black belt in karate (first dan). So even if I hadn´t liked golf, I know that I would have been linked to sport and the values it gives you in one way or another. When did you realize that you could become a professional? At university (United States). I always viewed it as a dream and didn´t think I could do it professionally, until I found myself playing against the best, competing and winning tournaments, I ended up in the Top 3 in the world amateur rankings.

Then I realised that I could seek a niche for myself in the world of professional golf. Tell us about your experience in the United States. Honestly, I only have positive memories from my time in Arizona (Arizona State University). I learned a language, travelled, met incredible people, it was fantastic. Undoubtedly, I would do it all again and at the same university.

Is it difficult to stay on the Circuit and find support? The prospects obviously change when golf is your profession and money forms part of the spectacle. Of course, the issue of sponsors is crucial, it is very difficult to compete without them and go to tournaments; the economic costs are very high. In my case in particular I am deeply grateful to all of them. Even more so in the case of Ping and Finca Cortesín, who were the first to support me. You have a very special relation-

ship with Finca Cortesín... Everything is made easy with Finca Cortesín, it is special. Finca committed to me from the outset and that is a privilege, to experience the support of one of the best clubs in the world. Not just due to the quality of the course, but the entire complex: the team of staff, hotel, restaurant, everything. They treat me like a queen (laughs). Tell us about 2019, how is the season going? I have begun the year playing really well, making cuts on the LPGA. I have had three tournaments with top 12 finishes but I need to keep working. We have had good planning, I have a very good team at my side, with a physical and mental coach; and I am convinced that we can achieve very good things. I imagine that the Tournament at La Reserva de Sotogrande is among your big events of the year. I am really excited about it. I know what competing at La Reserva is like because I played the Queen´s Cup there although I had to play against Carlota Ciganda, who beat me (laughs) but it was also a learning experience. It is a date marked out on the calendar and I want to compete at the highest level in a very beautiful challenge like the one faced in Sotogrande. Will we see you battling it out for the top spots? I hope for that; I wish that to be the

case. I think I have a chance and am going to give it everything. It is also worth highlighting that La Reserva is a great course and you have to play with lots of concentration. The course can be quite long and get difficult with the wind. I think that it is going to be very fun; the tournament will be close-fought; the line-up of players is really good. What is the best thing golf has given you thus far? Golf has given me so much, everything I have. It instils great values in you, golf teaches life lessons every day. It has helped me to have integrity and face challenges, be passionate about something and be consistent in my sport. It has taught me to keep going and not give up in the fight to achieve my goals. To have the character to fail and get up with even more strength. It offers you a life linked to sport, a healthy life Also, my best friends are involved in golf, I couldn´t be more grateful. Do you have any favourite courses you don´t get tired playing on? Finca Cortesín, of course. Not just due to the course, but also the incredible team of staff, they do in-

credible work. I also really like Las Brisas and other courses in the area are spectacular such as Real Club Valderrama and Real Club Golf Sotogrande. A tournament you dream of... I would love to defend Europe, in the company of some fellow Spaniards, at the Solheim Cup. And of course, like all the players, I would like to enjoy a Major, win titles, take the step up to the United States, etc. What does Noemí like to do when she puts down the golf club? I love to watch films and especially, I love shopping. I love everything to do with fashion. I consider myself to be very feminine and vain. I´m crazy about the entire world of aesthetics. I also have a weakness for dancing, if I didn´t play golf I may have tried to forge a career in dance. I also like being with my friends and travelling, but not like now (laughs), to enjoy places and do tourist things. However, the reality is that right now I don´t have time for anything. El golf y la Guardia Civil se encuentran en Sotogrande

En Este caso para albergar el VII Campeonato Nacional de la Guardia Civil de Golf, organizado por la Junta Central de Educación Física y Deportes de la Guardia Civil. La cita, de dos jornadas de duración, contó con el apoyo de la Comandancia de la Guardia Civil de Algeciras, y con la colaboración del Club de Golf La Alcaidesa Links y el Club de Golf La Cañada, sedes en las que se disputó el evento. Un total de 40 Guardias Civiles y 22 invitados afines al Cuerpo, participaron en este magnífico Campeonato que arrancó en Alcaidesa y finalizó, con acto de entrega de premios y clausura incluidos, en el Club de Golf La Cañada. El cierre contó con la presencia de personalidades como el General de Brigada Jefe de la Jefatura de Enseñanza y de la Junta Central de Educación Física y Deportes, Francisco Espadas Santana; acompañado del Coronel Jefe de la Comandancia de la Guardia Civil de Algeciras, Jesús Narciso Núñez

Calvo; el Capitán de Navío Comandante Naval de Algeciras, Jorge Lozano González; el Comisario Jefe Local del Cuerpo Nacional de Policía de La Línea, Francisco Javier López Matesanz; el Director del Club de Golf Alcaidesa Link, Juan Pablo Arriaga; o el presidente del Club de Golf La Cañada, Ángel Gutiérrez López, entre otros. En cuanto a los ganadores de la cita, mencionar la victoria de Ángel Fernando en la Modalidad Handicap Guardia Civil, al superar a Gabriel Domínguez y Jesús Fernández, segundo y tercero respectivamente. En la Clasificación Femenina, el triunfo fue para María Jesús Rodri´guez, seguida de María Dolores Pérez. En la Categoría Scratch, José Benito Cortés fue el ganador, seguido de Francisco Caso y Roberto Ramos. Por último, en la Modalidad Stableford de invitados, la victoria fue para José Luis García, acompañado en el podio por Román José Sánchez y Francisco Bisbal.

The competition was undoubtedly market by a great level of play and lots of excitement, especially in the women´s under-16´s ran-

kings, which ended with a draw at the top of the table between the Malaga player Julia López and the Seville player Ana Amalia Pina, both with 147 shots (+3). Ultimately, first place went to the Benahavís Golf player, Julia López, who had a better result in the second round, with 72 shots, in contrast to the 75 of the Real

Club Sevilla Golf player. As for the boys, the Real Club de Golf Guadalmina player, Alejandro Chacón, carded rounds of 75 and 77 shots, in order to, with a total of 152 shots, lead the men´s under-16´s rankings with a two-shot lead over the La Cañada Golf Club federated player, Ángel Ayora. La expedición sanroqueña conquista el XXVII Campeonato Nacional de Policías Locales Alcazaba Manuel Gil Las Gabias acogió el XXVII Campeonato Nacional de Policías Locales Alcazaba, con una exitosa participación de una delegación de agentes de la Policía Local de San Roque y que lograron el título, en compañía de compañeros de Los Barrios y La Línea, bajo el equipo Apolo Primer premio que se trajeron estos agentes de la Policía Local de San Roque, además de cuarto premio en Padel, un séptimo puesto en los 400m con un tiempo de 1:00.80 y metiéndose en las semifinales de la prueba de tiro.

Las Gabias hosted the XXVII Alcazaba National Championship of Local Police, with a successful participation of agents from the Local Police of San Roque and they attained the title, in the company of colleagues from Los Barrios and La Línea, with the team Apolo. The agents of the Local Police of San Roque brought home the first prize, as well as the fourth prize in Padel, seventh place in the 400 m with a time of 1:00.80 and a place in the semi-finals of the shooting competition. Inglaterra y Holanda reinan en Sotogrande Brillante nueva edición del Campeonato Europeo de Naciones que organiza el Real Club de Golf Sotogrande. La española Marta García se lleva el triunfo en el apartado individual Meekers y Zhen Bontan, se llevó la victoria en el cuadro femenino, seguido de Francia, Inglaterra y España, en cuarta posición finalmente. En cambio, en el apartado masculino, el cuadro británico formado por Ben Jones, Tom Plumb, Bailey Gill y Tom Sloman, se impuso por encima de los holandeses e irlandeses que cerraron el podio. Respecto a las actuaciones individuales. En chicas, Marta García se llevó la victoria seguida de Elena Moosman (Suiza); y en chicos el ganador fue el británico Tom Sloman, seguido del español Víctor Pastor. Respecto a la copa de socios del RCGS, Cristina Cervera, en Damas, y Jaime Montojo-Fernández. Fueron los ganadores.

England and Holland reign in Sotogrande A brilliant new edition of the European Nations Championship organized at Real Club de Golf Sotogrande. The Spaniard Marta García takes victory in the singles tournament. Sotogrande is golf and an international benchmark for this sport. It was a fantastic 2019 edition of the European Nations Championship which once again this year, this time on the eve of Holy Week, was organised at Real Club de Golf Sotogrande. Bittersweet taste for the “Spanish Armada” in terms of results. Although the team results were not the best of the recent editions in Sotogrande, Marta García enjoyed success in the women´s singles category. The Holland team, formed by Lauren Holmey, Romy Meekers and Zhen Bontan, took victory in the women´s tournament, followed by France, England and Spain, in fourth place at the end. On the other hand, in the men´s tournament, the British team formed by Ben Jones, Tom Plumb, Bailey Gill and Tom Sloman,
