Recomendable y muy interesante. No es un gancho para autobombo o promoción propia, pero el informe que se incluye en esta edición de El Periódico de Sotogrande, la primera del curso escolar (“toda una delicia ver esas caras desfilando camino de aula”, eso pensará algún padre), no tiene desperdicio ninguno. En él reflejan una serie de propuestas e iniciativas, cara al próximo año, que el PIVG plantea al equipo de gobierno municipal, a modo de reto, queriendo reflejar su mayor conocimiento y preocupación por las cuestiones que atañen al Valle del Guadiaro. Con la mayor sinceridad, todos y cada uno de esos cuatro puntos, son lo suficientemente importantes como para ser respaldados por cualquier administración competente y comprometida, en la que incluimos por defecto a la que lidera Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix. Dirigente tenaz e inteligente que sabe perfectamente orientar su gestión y tomará buena nota de ello. La realidad es que la población no flotante, por llamarla así, ha crecido de una manera exponencial en la última década en el Valle del Guadiaro y las necesidades a nivel de servicios e infraestructuras se ha incrementado de igual manera. Algo que se acentúa aún más en la temporada turística. Contar con un mercado de abastos, mayor logística sanitaria, más dependencias municipales, mejores conexiones, accesos o entradas desde la autovía A-7 (hablamos de la circunvalación en la salida de Torreguadiaro); incluso un plan B bien organizado en casos de colapsos de tráfico estivales es algo fundamental. Contar con una organizada estrategia de expansión en el Valle del Guadiaro. Y por supuesto, ese teatro municipal con aforo para casi medio millar de personas que fue una de las grandes promesas electorales del actual alcalde. Pensar a lo grande, para crecer en esa línea. ¡Bravo por estas propuestas! Iniciativa que aplaudimos, cuando se merece, por parte del PIVG. La clave es no quedarse ahí y seguir en la línea del mejor desarrollo posible.

Recommended and very interesting It isn´t a means of selfpraise or promotion, but the report that is included in this edition of El Periódico de Sotogrande, the first of the school year (“it is a really great to see those faces walking on the way to class” some parents will think), is really excellent. It reflects a series of proposals and initiatives, ahead of next year, that the PIVG is proposing to the municipal government team, as a challenge, aiming to reflect their greater knowledge and concern about issues relating to Valle del Guadiaro. In all honesty, each of the four points are important enough to be endorsed by any competent and committed administration, in which we include by default that lead by Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix. He is a tenacious and intelligent leader who knows perfectly how to approach his management and he will take good note of it. The reality is that the “non-floating” population, so to speak, has grown exponentially in the last decade in Valle del Guadiaro and needs in terms of services and infrastructures have also increased. This is further accentuated during the tourist season. Having a food market, greater healthcare logistics, more municipal facilities, better connections, accesses or entrances from the A-7 motorway (we are talking about the bypass on the Torreguadiaro exit); and even a well organised plan B in cases of summer traffic congestion is essential. Having an organised expansion strategy in Valle del Guadiaro. And, of course, that municipal theatre with a capacity for almost five hundred people which was one of the great electoral promises of the current mayor. We need to think big, in order to grow that way: Bravo for the proposals! This is an initiative that we applaud, when deserved, by the PIVG. The key is to not leave things at that point, and to continue towards the best possible development.

La educación, clave del éxito de un destino

Education, key to success of a destination

A veces hay que presumir, sin demasiados alardes, pero cuando se puede presumir no es malo hacerlo y más si es con ánimo de crítica constructiva. Tenemos la base y cimientos perfectos para construir el mejor destino y complejo residencial del sur de Europa. Todo empieza y se fortalece desde la educación y una formación académica de calidad con la que construir la sociedad de las próximas generaciones. Y es digno para presumir que Sotogrande cuenta con todo lo necesario para ello; en pocos kilómetros (al igual que ocurre con el golf), concentra algunos de los centros educativos más importantes a nivel nacional (así lo ratifica cada año el prestigioso informe de el diario El Mundo con los mejores colegios del país). La cuestión es la siguiente, ¿sacamos como destino todo el rédito posible a esta única y exclusiva oportunidad? Este año arrancan el curso más de 1080 alumnos en el Colegio Internacional de Sotogrande, uno de los centros de referencia en todo el país. Pero es que la comunidad escolar del Valle del Guadiaro roza los 2.700 alumnos, de los cuales, más de la mitad acuden de manera diaria a centros privados de primer nivel como el Colegio San José y otros en los municipios cercanos de Algeciras o dentro del propio Gibraltar. Todo ello, maridado de la estupenda enseñanza pública que se gestiona en la zona. ¿Qué quieren decir estos datis? Que la clave, lo más importante de un destino, desde la base en la que construirse que es la formación para los más jóvenes, Sotogrande parte con ventaja. ¿Aprovechamos esa ventaja? ¿Se consigue la repercusión adecuada? No existe mejor promoción en el mundo para un destino que contar con mar, deporte y en el que la familia, como reflejan estos datos junto a los de seguridad, sea lo más importante para su comunidad. Así ha sido y es Sotogrande. Es el momento de sacar aún más ventaja de todo ello, rentabilizar el factor diferencia que supone contar con una educación de calidad y exportar esa imagen al exterior y consolidar, además de todo lo ya difundido; una clara oferta residencial basada en la educación de éxito. Por otro lado, me gustaría aplaudir un año más la experiencia que supone exportar grandes valores locales. En este caso, la celebración del Beach Polo Tarifa, con numerosas caras conocidas de la urbanización (casi todas), es un buen ejemplo de todo lo bueno que tenemos aquí y que no solemos vender o mostrar bien, en el mejor sentido de ambos términos. Trasladar a otros puntos, cuando decae nuestra temporada, cosas de las que somos expertos y mejores en cuanto la organización es fundamental para crecer. Así con todo, mientras tanto, aplaudir el buen ratito que disfrutamos el pasado fin de semana en Tarifa los amantes del polo. Y antes de acabar, desear a todos buena suerte y buen tino en el nuevo curso que ahora comienza. Sometimes it is necessary to boast, without showing off too much, but when you can boast it isn´t bad to do so, and more so if it is with the intention of constructive criticism. We have the perfect base and foundations for building the best destination and residential complex in southern Europe. Everything begins with and is strengthened through education and quality academic training with which to build the society of future generations. And it is worth claiming that Sotogrande has everything necessary for this; within a few kilometres (as is the case with golf), it brings together some of the most important schools nationwide (this is endorsed each year in the prestigious report of the newspaper El Mundo with the best schools in the country). The question is as follows, as a destination do we really make the most of this unique and exclusive opportunity? This year, the school term begins with more than 1080 pupils at Sotogrande International School, one of the leading schools in the entire country. But, the fact is that the school community in Valle del Guadiaro has close to 2,700 pupils, of which, more than half come on a daily basis to top schools such as Colegio San José and others in the nearby municipalities of Algeciras or within Gibraltar itself. All of this is combined with the fantastic public teaching that is offered in the area. What does all this data mean? That the key, the most important aspect of a destination, from which it is built is education for young people, for which Sotogrande has an advantage. Do we make the most of this advantage? Does it obtain a suitable impact? There is no better promotion in the world for a destination that having sea, sport and a way of life where family, as shown in this data and those on safety, is the most important aspect for the community. This is what Sotogrande has been and is. It is time to take further advantage of all of this, capitalize of the differential factor of having quality education and export that image to the outside world and consolidate, in addition to everything that has been disseminated; a clear residential offer based on successful education. On the other hand, once again this year I would like to applaud the experience that comes with exporting great local assets. In this case, the celebration of Beach Polo Tarifa, with several well-known faces in the resort (almost all of them), this is a good example of everything good we have here and that we don´t normally sell or display well, in the best sense of both terms. Moving to other areas, when our season is on the decline, things that we are experts in and the best at in terms of organisation is crucial in order to grow. And so, meanwhile, we want to applaud the good time that polo lovers enjoyed last weekend in Tarifa. Denuncian la “dejadez” de varias zonas de Pueblo Nuevo de Guadiaro En pleno Pueblo Nuevo, a la espalda de la Plaza Mayor, en concreto el pasaje de San Jerónimo, se puede presenciar una imagen “vergonzosa” al comprobar “en qué estado se encuentra”. EL PIVG denunció la “preocupante” situación de “edificios enteros de locales comerciales abandonados que son un peligro para la población en cuanto a seguridad e insalubridad”. Detallan que algunos de los locales, que hasta “han sido desbalijados y no existen puertas y las ventanas”, se encuentran “destrozados” y son un verdadero “peligro de seguridad, sobre todo para niños que se puedan meter en ellos”. “En su interior, hay de todo lo inimaginable, paredes y mobiliario destrozado, cantidad de basura por todas partes e incluso alguna jeringuilla. El abandono y desidia por parte municipal es notoria, puesto que no el flor de un día, o de haberse realizado algún botellón en su interior y reuniones de jóvenes de la zona, es que

nos comentan vecinos alarmados que aunque llevan unos años abandonados estos locales, en los tres o cuatro últimos años ya ha llegado a una situación extrema, de inseguridad e insalubridad, ya ha habido innumerables quejas al ayuntamiento y hemos podido constatar en la alcaldía de Guadiaro”, matizan desde el PIVG. Reclaman al Ayuntamiento y las correspondientes concejalías que se actúe “de inmediato para que esos locales se precinten y sus dueños procedan a la limpieza y cerramiento de los mismos”. Y resaltan que el go-

bierno municipal parece tener “otras prioridades, relacionadas con el jolgorio, eventos y fotos y mientras, un abandono que como en este caso se ha creado un foco de insalubridad e inseguridad , que los vecinos de Pueblo Nuevo llevan sufriendo ya tres o cuatro años, y con la gravedad de que a algún joven o niño le ocurra alguna desgracia y no se está actuando”.

“La situación internacional tampoco es halagüeña, no solo por el freno de varias economías en Europa y fuera de ella, sino también por la incertidumbre que afecta a tres campos importantes: el Brexit, la guerra comercial entre China y Estados Unidos, y la política monetaria..”.

Cambio de ciclo

Ahora que llega el otoño, y empieza a llover en Sotogrande, podemos reflexionar sobre otro tipo de precipitación: ¿estamos cerca de un cambio en el ciclo económico o a las puertas de una crisis? Habrá quien proteste por la pregunta, alegando que no podemos estar próximos a un colapso cuando aún no hemos superado plenamente el anterior. Sin embargo, se trata de una percepción errónea, porque en realidad la economía española lleva seis años creciendo, y a bastante buen ritmo. Dejamos atrás la crisis en el año 2013. Y tampoco es cierto que, considerando que no todos los indicadores son mejores que los registrados en 2007, entonces hay que concluir que seguimos atrapados en la última gran caída de la actividad económica. Recordemos que ese año marcó el final de un ciclo notablemente prolongado de expansión, iniciado en 1993. Por fin, esas percepciones equivocadas son relativamente frecuentes, y operan en los dos sentidos, tanto en las expansiones como en las recesiones. Sea como fuere, y dando por sentado nuestra completa e inerradicable ignorancia sobre qué sucederá en el futuro, lo que sí podemos constatar es

que el ritmo de crecimiento de la economía española se está desacelerando. Los indicadores son a estas alturas suficientes como para afirmarlo, en términos de actividad, empleo y comercio exterior. La situación internacional tampoco es halagüeña, no solo por el freno de varias economías en Europa y fuera de ella, sino también por la incertidumbre que afecta a tres campos importantes: el Brexit, la guerra comercial entre China y Estados Unidos, y la política monetaria. Es verdad que tales incógnitas pueden despejarse de manera positiva, pero no lo veo probable, especialmente en el caso de los bancos centrales, cuyas políticas han sido a mi juicio demasiado expansivas durante demasiado tiempo. Esto rara vez termina bien. Por lo tanto, conviene que nos preparemos para un nuevo escenario con más dificultades, o incluso un cambio de ciclo. Si nuestros gobernantes fueran precavidos, lo que estarían haciendo ahora es bajar gastos e impuestos y flexibilizar los mercados, para amortiguar cualquier golpe negativo en ciernes. No lo están haciendo, y, lo que es peor, no está nada claro que lo vayan a hacer en el futuro.

Whatever the case, and assuming our complete and ineradicable ignorance about what will happen in the future, what we can state is that the rate of

growth of the Spanish economy is slowing down. There are sufficient indicators to assert that at this point, in terms of activity, employment and foreign trade. Also, the international is not promising, not only with the slowdown of several economies in Europe and outside of it, but also due to the uncertainty that affects three important areas: Brexit, the trade war between China and the United States, and monetary policy. It is true that such unknowns could have positive outcomes, but I don´t think it looks likely, especially in the case of central banks, whose policies, in my view have been too expansive for too long. This rarely ends well. Therefore, it is advisable for us to prepare for a new scenario with more difficulties, or even a change of cycle. If our leaders were cautious, what they would be doing now is lowering costs and taxes and making markets more flexible, in order to lessen any negative knock in the making. There aren´t doing so, and what is worse, it isn´t at all clear that they are going to in the future.

La embarcación sustituye a la estatua Innocence en la rotonda de acceso al bulevar

Torreguadiaro toma como símbolo una barca pesquera M. G. Torreguadiaro ya cuenta con nuevo emblema y símbolo a la entrada de su bulevar (al acceder desde la zona de Montilla). Se trata de una barca pesquera que ya se encuentra instalada por parte de los operarios municipales y en cuya leyenda se puede leer “Torreguadiaro”, a modo de bautismo. Ésta embarcación se ubica en la misma rotonda de entrada en la que años anteriores se encontraba la estatua de la Innocence; un monumento ciertamente con-

trovertido desde su llegada, poco vinculado en realidad a la barriada, pero que con los años se había llegado a acoger por los vecinos de la zona. Resaltar que la Innocence, actualmente, se exhibe en el sanroqueño Parque de la Vida. Así que el nuevo símbolo de los torreguadiareños se acerca a su espíritu pesquero y trata de expresar y reflejar el perfil y personalidad de la zona desde sus inicios, siempre estrechamente ligada al mar.

Mediación

¿Cómo ayuda un mediador a crear acuerdos? Cuándo las partes en conflicto aceptan una solución como válida y sienten que ganan, de alguna manera con ella, podemos decir que se ha construido un acuerdo. Sin embargo, esto que suena tan bien no siempre es fácil de lograr. El mediador ayuda a conseguirlo facilitando una serie de puntos clave: 1. Despersonalizar el conflicto. El mediador os ayudará a enfocaros no en el problema, sino en la solución, sin tomar el conflicto como algo personal. 2. Pensar en términos de “proyecto”. Ya se trate de un problema familiar, profesional o de otro tipo, la solución pasará por ser construida conjuntamente con la otra parte. On Friday evening, between 6 pm and 8.30 pm, there will be a walk along the canals of the Sporting Port and Sotogrande Marina. Detalla haber enviado “unas propuestas de inversiones para el valle del Guadiaro muy demandadas por los vecinos, incluso recogidas en nuestro programa electoral, para ser incluidas en el Plan de Inversiones Financieras Sostenibles contra el remanente de tesorería del ejercicio de 2018, cerrado con una capacidad de financiación de más de 12 millones de euros que se pueden destinar a esta finalidad”, sostiene. En concreto, solicitan: 1. Un mercado de abastos para Guadiaro, estimado en 1,5 millones de euros. 2. Reposición de acerados

¡Por favor, restablezcan el autobús urbano Torreguadiaro-San Roque! Hace poco tomaba café con una amiga que me contaba lo frustrada y estresada que se sentía, como una madre de familia que no tiene coche, al vivir en Sotogrande Costa. El año pasado se puso muy contenta cuando se puso en marcha el autobús urbano entre Torreguadiaro y San Roque, pasando por Sotogrande, con salidas cada hora en ambos sentidos. La línea era perfecta para ella, ya que siempre tiene varios recados que hacer en San Roque para su familia, que podía realizar cómodamente gracias a este útil y frecuente servicio de autobuses. Este le permitía llegar a su casa a tiempo para la hora de comer, cuando sus hijos llegan del colegio. Hace unos meses, se canceló este servicio. Ahora mi amiga tiene dificultades para compaginar sus horarios con el servicio de autobuses Estepona/La Línea, que tiene parada en San Roque, y cuyos autobuses salen cada dos horas. Si alguno de sus quehace-

res le lleva demasiado tiempo y pierde el autobús, no puede llegar a casa para hacerles la comida a sus hijos. Además, ahora puede hacer muchas menos tareas que antes, lo que exige visitas adicionales a San Roque durante la semana para poder cuadrar su agenda. Debe de haber muchas personas más con las mismas frustraciones que ella: madres ocupadas, empleados, turistas que se alojen en la zona y jóvenes sin coche, que dependen del autobús para desplazarse. Y a la inversa, habrá muchas personas en San Roque y otras poblaciones cercanas que aprovecharían una mayor frecuencia de salidas hacia Torreguadiaro y la zona circundante, para disfrutar de las playas, los restaurantes, Sotogrande Marina y actividades como el golf o el polo, que se ofertan a lo largo del trayecto. Según la edición de julio de El Periódico, está claro que existe un excelente servicio de autobús en

Sotogrande y alrededores, pero hay una gran necesidad de mejorar el enlace en autobús con San Roque y áreas más alejadas. San Roque es el centro administrativo de la zona, así que los vecinos necesitan un acceso sencillo y de calidad a la población para realizar sus gestiones domésticas, pagar facturas, impuestos, etc. Además, todo nuevo vecino deberá realizar varios viajes al centro urbano antes de establecerse en la zona. La oficina principal de servicios sociales también está en San Roque, y la gente que requiere sus servicios suele no tener vehículo ni disponer de dinero para taxis, o para los billetes de autobús necesarios para ir y volver de la población. San Roque también dispone de una gran oferta turística y de tiempo libre. Un autobús con servicio horario sería de gran ayuda para las personas que deban acudir frecuentemente al médico, al hospital de La Línea, a la estación central de autobuses, al aeropuerto y a los

hipermercados que hay por el camino, ya que, si pierden un autobús, no tendrán que esperar dos horas hasta que pase el siguiente. Una línea regular, que funcione los siete días de la semana, daría mayor libertad a los usuarios de ambos extremos del recorrido, para disfrutar los fines de semana y cumplir con sus obligaciones profesionales entre semana. Incluso si las salidas fuesen cada dos horas, alternándolo con el autobús Estepona/La Línea se garantizaría una frecuencia horaria para San Roque. Esto sería de gran ayuda para mucha gente, y

haría sus vidas más fáciles y productivas. Un buen servicio de autobús atraería más visitantes a la zona, lo que a su vez impulsaría el sector turístico y beneficiaría a las empresas locales. Por el mismo motivo, sería conveniente que las tarifas fueran subvencionadas, de modo que todo el mundo pueda beneficiarse del servicio, para incrementar el bienestar de la población y reducir los problemas sociales, ya que se resolverían los problemas de las personas y estas podrían vivir más plenamente. I was having coffee with a friend recently who was telling me of her frustrations and struggles as a busy mum living in Sotogrande Costa without a car. She was so happy last year when the Urbano Bus was launched, running hourly buses from Torreguadiaro to and from San Roque via Sotogrande. This was perfect for her as she always has several appointments in San Roque each week on behalf of her family, which she could comfortably fit in because of this regular and very convenient bus service. It enabled her to make it home easily by lunchtime, when her children got home from school. A few months ago, this service was withdrawn. She now has great difficulty adjusting all her appointments to fit in with the 2-hourly Estepona/La Linea bus which calls at San Roque. Also, she is now very limited in the appointment times she can schedule, and may have to make additional visits to San Roque during the week in order to fit in all her appointments.

There must be many like her with similar frustrations – other busy mums, workers, tourists staying the area and young people without cars who are dependent on a bus service to get around. And, conversely, there are residents of San Roque and beyond who would benefit from more regular transport to Torreguadiaro and the surrounding area to enjoy the beaches, restaurants, Sotogrande Marina, polo and golf and

other activities on offer along the bus route. It is clear from the July edition of El Periodico that there is an excellent bus service around the Sotogrande area, but there is a great need for better bus links to San Roque and beyond. San Roque is the administrative hub of the area, so people need to have good and easy access to it to sort out their domestic affairs, pay bills

and taxes etc. Also new people moving into the area will need to make multiple trips in order to get set up. The main Social Services office is also located in San Roque, and the people who really need their services are unlikely to have a car or money for taxis; or multiple bus fares to get there and back for ongoing visits. San Roque also offers great leisure and tourist venues to be enjoyed. An hourly bus service would be of

enormous help for people needing help getting to doctor appointments, La Linea hospital, bus station and airport; or local supermarkets on the route, so if they just miss a bus, they don’t have to wait 2 hours for the next one. A regular bus which runs 7 days a week would give greater freedom for people at both ends of the line to give them flexibility to enjoy their weekends as well as fulfil their business requirements during the week. Even if it runs 2 hourly, alternating with the Estepona/La Linea bus, it would ensure an hourly bus to and from San Roque. This would be of great to help to many, and make their lives smoother and more productive. A good bus service would attract more visitors to the area which in turn would boost the tourist industry, and also benefit the local businesses. For the same reason, it would be helpful if fares were subsidised so all can benefit from this service, ensuring a happier population and fewer social problems as people’s needs are met and they can lead a more fulfilling life. Fallece una mujer en un accidente de tráfico en Sotogrande Fuerte colisión entre dos vehículos, al impactar por la parte trasera, en el Km. 130 de la A-7, dirección Cádiz. El conductor se encuentra detenido

Efectivos del Cuerpo de Bomberos del Consorcio provincial intervinieron de urgencia en un fortuito accidente de tráfico ocurrido en la A7, km 130, a la altura de Sotogrande, en dirección a Cádiz. Sofocan el conato de incendio en Borondo, sin grandes consecuencias El fuego quema menos de una hectárea en el paraje, a la altura de San Roque Club

Este martes, 3 de septiembre, al filo del mediodía se produjo un conato de incendio forestal en San Roque, concretamente en el paraje de Borondo, a la altura de la urbanización de San Roque Club (en el otro margen de la autovía). Poco antes de las 14:00 horas ya había sido controlado el fuego que afectó a menos de una hectárea y que se dio por extinguido sobre las 21:30 h. aprox. Fundamental en la rapidez de sus extinción fue la presencia ágil de hasta cinco medios aéreos que en colaboración con efectivos del Cuerpo de Bomberos provincial, Guardia Civil y Policía Local, prestaban cobertura sobre el terreno a pie de incendio. Un técnico operativo, 16

efectivos del consorcio de bomberos, dos agentes de medio ambiente, una autobomba y dos helicópteros, uno de ellos pesados, trabajaron durante toda la jornada para su extinción. La zona afectada (matorral bajo y parte de arboleda), al estar en altura, sufrió más de lo debido al soplar el viento de Levante con rachas de hasta 20 km/h.

La comunidad escolar del Valle del Guadiaro roza los 2.700 alumnos este curso • El nuevo curso 2019-2020 arranca con más de 2.682 alumnos inscritos en los diferentes centros educativos locales. • El Colegio Internacional de Sotogrande supera el millar de alumnos y concentra casi un 10% del censo de escolares en su ‘boarding’. • Los escolares del Valle del Guadiaro acuden, de manera mayoritaria (1.430 aprox.), a centros privados para cursar sus estudios. • A pocos kilómetros de Sotogrande se sitúan varios de los mejores centros del país, destacando dos de ellos, en el ‘Top 100’ nacional. Siempre es triste y complicado dejar atrás, en especial para los más pequeños, las alegrías y la fresca disposición del verano pero llega el momento de retomar la rutina y el calendario escolar. Por supuesto, la vuelta al cole en el Valle del Guadiaro y Sotogrande también es sinónimo de calidad. Calidad y alto nivel por contar, en unos pocos kilómetros, prácticamente a tiro de piedra, con varios de los centros educativos de referencia en toda la región e incluso a nivel nacional e internacional. Todo un lujo y atractivo fortalecedor a la hora de exportar un destino residencial del más alto nivel de calidad. El curso escolar 2019-2020

arranca en el Valle del Guadiaro (y su área de influencia más cercana) con un incremento sustancial en la cuota de integrantes en su comunidad escolar. En números estimados (hasta que no comience a rodar el curso plenamente e incluso ya en marcha estas cifras pueden variar), la comunidad escolar local se sitúa este año en unos 2.682 alumnos (aprox.) en total, una cifra que crece respecto a registros anteriores en los que se situaba en 2.550 (en 2018), 2.440 (en 2017), 2.183 alumnos (en 2016) o la doble unidad de millar, a secas, en 2015. Comunidad escolar local Como es tradición, el Colegio Internacional de Sotogrande (SIS) lidera el número de estudiantes

El Colegio San José es uno de los centros al que más estudiantes se desplazan cada día desde Sotogrande inscritos para este curso en la zona, un año más, además de ser el más tempranero en iniciar su calendario escolar (lo hizo el pasado 4 de septiembre; pueden consultar todas las imágenes en la página web del periódico). Este año afronta el curso superando el millar de alumnos en sus aulas (concretamente 1080), lo que supone un nuevo incremento respecto al curso pasado (unos 990) de casi un 10%; cifra que consolida la imparable inercia en creci-

miento y desarrollo del centro que ya acumula bastantes años en subida y que se mantiene con el reconocimiento de estar entre los mejores centros del país, avalado por el prestigioso estudio que cada año publica el diario El Mundo. Respecto al volumen de multiculturalidad en su aulas, destaca que el 70% de los mismos sean de origen extranjero, haciendo muy rica su comunidad culturalmente. Hasta un total de 45 nacionalidades conviven entre sus clases; siendo la predominante la española seguida de la británica. Destacar, además de las más habituales, procedencias tan exóticas como Botswana, Arabia Saudí, Egipto, Santo Domingo o Malasia. Entre las cifras, resalta que el ‘boarding’ del Colegio Internacio-

nal de Sotogrande sume un total de hasta 100 alumnos. Entre las novedades y credenciales que presenta el centro este curso destacan la nuevas instalaciones deportivas (renovación de la superficie de campo de fútbol con cesped de gama alta), la nueva climatización del edificio principal o el inicio de obras para la nueva residencia de estudiantes, que comenzarán durante el próximo mes de octubre. También, resaltar la creación de un nuevo espacio educativo y de juegos, en la zona exterior, para los alumnos infantil; así como el emocionante y atractivo nuevo Programa Exchange de Inspired que facilita el intercambio para los alumnos del grupo Inspired International School.

También se encuentra ya en marcha, desde el principios del mes de septiembre, el nuevo curso para las guarderías y centros de primera edad. Los puntos municipales de Campanilla (San Enrique), con 35 plazas, y de Puente de Hierro en Pueblo Nuevo, con 41 plazas, habría que sumarle un cifra cercana al centenar que se reparte entre las diferentes guarderías privadas de la urbanización y todo el Valle del Guadiaro. Recuperando el hilo de mayor masa académica, tras el internacional sotograndino se situaría el CEIP Gloria Fuertes (repartido en zonas de Infantil y Primaria en Guadiaro y Pueblo Nuevo, respectivamente). En total acumula hasta el momento un total de 570 alumnos inscritos, lo que supone un crecimiento también respecto a los 560 del pasado curso o los 491 (en 2016). Se reparten entre 203 alumnos en Educación Infantil (crece respecto a los 170 de 2018), mientras que en Educación Primaria concurrirán este curso un total de 369 escolares. Sin duda, uno de los centros de mayor demanda en la zona y que compagina numerosas actividades extraescolares en sus instalaciones durante todo el curso. Destaca también la renovación del equipo directivo este curso y el alto número de nuevas matriculaciones. Mencionar, en el siguiente apartado, al CEIP Barbésula en San Enrique de Guadiaro que durante este curso crece considerablemente en censo. Este año alcanza los 174 alumnos (150 el curso anterior), lo que sitúa al centro en unas cifras superiores a cursos anteriores. Se dividen en 109 escolares en el grado de Primaria y 65 en Infantil.

Para cerrar el capítulo local, el último en iniciar el curso esel IES Sierra Almenara (en Pueblo Nuevo). El centro, que ya sólo cuenta con niveles de secundaria, cifra en 280 (aprox.) el número de matriculados para este curso, una cifra muy cercana a la que ya presentó el pasado curso y el anterior. Alumnos que estudian fuera del distrito Un amplio número de residentes de la urbanización y todo el Valle del Guadiaro eligen matricularse en centros vecinos y colegios cercanos. Tal es el caso de prácticamente un número cercano al medio millar, en muchos casos, buscando una diferenciación educativa a la propuesta de la zona. Tal es el caso del Colegio San José, en Estepona. Este centro, que año tras años continúa consolidado entre los 100 mejores del país, recibe diariamente a más de un centenar de estudiantes procedentes de Sotogrande. En su mayoría de procedencia española aunque las nacionalidades británicas y rusas le siguen muy de cerca. También conviven en el centro procedencias como la belga, italiana, ho-

landesa o francesa, entre muchas otras hasta alcanzar la cifra de 16 países. Su bachillerato internacional y las impresionantes infraestructuras y oferta educativa, convierten al San José en uno de los colegios más demandados de toda la Costa del sol. Los centros algecireños de Montecalpe y Puertoblanco son también dos de los destinos más demandados por la comunidad escolar local. Más de un centenar de estudiantes se desplazan cada día hasta estos dos colegios, divididos por sexos, para cursos sus estudios. Caso similar ocurre con las ofertas educativas en Gibraltar, centros como Loreto o Prior albergan a casi medio centenar de estudiantes de la zona. Algo más voluminosa es la cifra de los escolares del Valle del Guadiaro, estudiantes de bachillerato, que pasan a San Roque Casco a cursar sus estudios, aproximadamente unos 150. En resumen, el Valle del Guadiaro y Sotogrande conforman una amplia comunidad educativa, cercana a la del cualquier municipio medio de la provincia en el que destaca su alto nivel educativo como atractivo y modelo de referencia cara al exterior.

School community in Valle del Guadiaro close to 2,700 pupils this year • The new year 2019-2020 is getting underway with more than 2.682 pupils enrolled in the different local schools. • Sotogrande International School has more than one thousand pupils and concentrates almost 10% of the census of school pupils in its boarding school. • School pupils from Valle del Guadiaro and its most immediate area attend, almost in the same number, both private and public schools. • Within a few kilometres of Sotogrande are some of the best schools in the country, with top of them standing out, in the “Top 100” nationwide. A new year gets underway, a new hope begins. It is always sad and difficult to leave behind, especially for the little ones, the happiness and freshness of summer but the time has come to return to routine and the school year. Of course, the return to school in Valle del Guadiaro and Sotogrande is also synonymous with quality. Quality and a high level, as within just a few kilometres, practically within a stone´s throw, are several of the leading schools in the entire region and even at a national and international level. A real luxury and empowering attraction when it comes to exporting a residential destination of the highest level of quality. The 2019-2020 school year is getting underway in Valle del Guadiaro (and its closest area of influence) with a substantial increase in the number of mem-

bers in its school community. In terms of estimate numbers (until the year fully begins and even when it is underway, these figures may vary), the school community this year has around 2,682 pupils (approx.) in total, a figure that rises in relation to previous records where it was around 2,550 (in 2018), 2,440 (in 2017), 2,183 pupils (in 2016) and two thousand precisely in 2015. Local school community As is customary, Sotogrande International School (SIS) leads the number of students registered for this year in the area, once again this year, and is also the first to begin the school year (it did so on 4 September; you can see all the images on the newspaper website). This year it heads into the school year

with over one thousand pupils in its classrooms (1080 specifically), which is another increase in relation to last year (990) of almost 10%; a figure that consoliunstoppable the dates momentum in terms of the growth and development of the school as it has been increasing for quite a few years and it maintains the recognition of being among the best schools in the country, backed by the prestigious study published each year by the newspaper El Mundo. With regard to the level of multiculturalism in its classroom, what stands out is that 70% of pupils are foreign, making its community very rich culturally. A total of 45 nationalities mix together in its classes; the predominant nationality is Spanish, followed by the British. In addition to the customary ones, we

should also highlight pupils from exotic places such as Botswana, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Santo Domingo and Malaysia. Among the figures, it should be noted that the boarding section at Sotogrande International School has a total of 100 pupils. Among the new additions and credentials of the school this year, it is worth highlighting the new sports facilities (revamping of the surface of the football pitch with a high-end lawn), the new air condition system in the main building and the start of work for the new student residency, which will begin in October. Also, we should highlight the creation of a new educatio-

nal and playing area, in the outdoor zone, for pre-school students; as well as the exciting and attractive new Inspired Exchange Program which facilities exchange for the pupils of the Inspired International School group. Also, since the start of September, the new year for nurseries and early school pupils is also underway. There are the municipal points of Campanilla (San Enrique), with 35 places, and Puente de Hierro in Pueblo Nuevo, with 41 places, as well as a figure of close to one hundred spread around the different private nurseries in the resort and all of Valle del Guadiaro. ghest pupil numbers, after Sotogrande International School, is CEIP Gloria Fuertes (divided among the Pre-school and Primary areas in Guadiaro and Pueblo Nuevo respectively). In total, thus far it has a total of 570 pupils enrolled, which is also an increase in relation to 560 of last year or 491 (in 2016). 65 Pre-school pupils. To complete the local schools, the last to begin the year is IES Sierra Almenara (in Pueblo Nuevo). The school, which now only has secondary teaching, has 280 (approx.) pupils enrolled for this year, a figure that is very close to that presented last year and the one before it. Pupils who study outside the district A large number of residents in the resort and all of Valle del Guadiaro choose to enrol in neighbouring and nearby schools. This is the case of practically around five hundred pupils, often seeking a different education to the offer in the area. Such is the case of Colegio San José, in Estepona. This school, which year after year continues to establish its position among the 100 best in the country, receives more than one hundred students from Sotogrande each day. Most are Spanish, although the British and Russian nationalities follow closely behind. The school also has nationalities such as pupils from Belgium, Italy, Ho-

lland and France, among many others, 16 countries in total. Its international baccalaureate and the impressive infrastructures and range of education make San José one of the most sought-after schools on the entire Costa del Sol. The Algeciras schools of Montecalpe and Puertoblanco are also two of the destinations sought after by the local school community. More than one hundred students travel each day to these two schools, which are divided by gender, to undertake their studies. There is a similar situation with the range of education in Gibraltar, schools such as Loreto and Prior house almost fifty students from the area. Somewhat higher is the number of school pupils from Valle del Guadiaro, baccalaureate students, who come to study, approximately 150. In short, Valle del Guadiaro and Sotogrande form an extensive educational community, close to that of any average municipality in the province, and stands out for its high level of education as an attraction and a reference model to the outside world.

cación Infantil (de 3 a 5 años). El plazo para solicitarlas se ha establecido entre el próximo lunes, 9 de septiembre, hasta el viernes 27 de este mes. Se des-

tinará un máximo de 80 euros por alumno. Para llegar al mayor número de beneficiarios, se ha decidido ampliar el umbral de renta. En la convocatoria pa-

Municipal grants amount to 25,000 Euros The Council has allocated 25,000 Euros, 3,000 Euros more than last year, to grants for the purchase of school material for the Second Cycle of Children´s Education (aged 3 to 5). The period for applying for them has been established between next Monday, 9 September, until Friday 27 of this months. A maximum of 80 Euros will be allocated to each pupil. To reach the largest number of beneficiaries, a decision has been taken to extend the rent threshold. In the last edition, 192 of these grants were awarded, and the aim on this occasion was to increase the number significantly. These are financial grants that will be granted on a

competitive basis, and their target is the purchase of textbooks and school teaching material for the II cycle of Children´s Education for pupils enrolled in public schools in the municipality in the 2019/2020 year. The budget is 25,000 Euros, and the requirements needed are: to be registered as a resident in San Roque within at least the last 6 months; and not surpass the economic thresholds in the 2018 financial year established in the call for applications. It is also necessary to be up-to-date with tax obligations with the Council and cooperate in any inspection/ verification activities that are carried out to ensure the final recipient of the grant. The grants will be paid via a

bank transfer, and the maximum period for a settlement has been established at 3 months. With regard to the income thresholds, they have been established at 22,000 Euros for families with two members (single parents); 27,000 Euros for those with three; 32,000 for those with four; 37,000 for those with five; 42,000 for those with six; and 52,000 for those with eight members. Following that figure, for each member, 2,500 Euros will be added.

La partida presupuestaria se sitúa en los 25.000 euros, y como requisitos se exige: estar empadronado en San Roque al menos en los 6 últimos meses; y no superar los umbrales económicos en el ejercicio 2018 establecidos en la convocatoria.

También se debe estar al corriente de las obligaciones fiscales con el Ayuntamiento y cooperar en cuantas actividades de inspección/verificación se lleven a cabo para asegurar el destino final de la ayuda. Las ayudas se pagarán a través de transferencia bancaria, y el plazo máximo de resolución se ha fijado en 3 meses. En cuanto a los umbrales de renta, se han fijado en 22.000 euros para las familias de dos miembros (monoparentales); en 27.000 euros para las de tres; en 32.000 para las de cuatro; en 37.000 las de cinco; 42.000 las de seis; y 52.000 euros las de ocho miembros. A partir de esta cifra, a cada miembro computable se le añadirán 2.500 euros.

Plan Especial de Limpieza, con motivo del inicio del curso Operarios de la Delegación de Limpieza Viaria realizaron en los últimos días diferentes de limpieza, dentro del Plan Únete, debido al inicio escolar en lugares cercanos a algunos centros educativos de Guadiaro y Casco. En Guadiaro los operarios han trabajado en la entrada del CEIP Gloria Fuertes, en la Avenida Profesor Tierno Galván, utilizando un máquina de agua caliente a presión.

Se clausura el XXXII Torneo de Tenis Colegio San José, en el Club Bel-Air El viernes 6 de septiembre se dio por finalizada la trigésimo segunda edición del Torneo de Tenis Colegio San José, en el Club de Tenis Bel-Air de Estepona. El torneo, que reparte hasta 9.000€ en premios, ha contado con un altísimo nivel de participación, con 150 jugadores de excelente calidad y un alto nivel tenístico que hacen posible que el nivel de juego se supere en cada edición. Tuvo lugar entre los días 31 de agosto y 6 de septiembre de 2019. Tras una más que emocionante fase final tuvo lugar la entrega de trofeos, a la que siguió un

sorteo de regalos entre todos los asistentes. En el acto participaron diversas personalidades y patrocinadores. El Torneo de Tenis es ya un referente en el calendario nacional de torneos y reúne a los mejores jugadores del tenis actual. End of the XXXII Colegio San José Tennis Tournament, at Bel-Air Tennis Club Friday 6 September saw the end of the thirty-second edition of the Colegio San José Tennis Tournament, at Bel-Air Tennis Club in Estepona. The tournament, with a prize purse of €9,000, had a very high level of participation, with 150 players of excellent quality and a high level of tennis that makes it possible to improve the level of play at each edition. It took place between 31 August and 6 September 2019. After an exciting final phase, the trophy presentation took place, and was followed by a prize draw among all those attending. Different figures and sponsors took part in the event. The Tennis Tournament is a benchmark on the national calendar of tournaments and it brings together the best players in current tennis. Aprender a mantener limpia la playa, como tarea de verano • Los más pequeños de la playa de Torreguadiaro participan en la iniciativa municipal “Limpita, la playa más bonita”. • Esta propuesta está destinada a educar y concienciar, además de enseñar prácticas saludables como usuarios, a mejorar el mantenimiento y limpieza de las playas.

Educar y concienciar de la importancia del cuidado del medio natural y en especial, de nuestras playas, como tarea y deberes del verano. “Limpita, la playa más bonita” regresó al litoral sanroqueño con dos nuevas citas. Se trata de la campaña de reciclaje de la Delegación de Medio Ambiente destinada a los más pequeños,

que visitó la playa de Torreguadiaro (esta actividad también se llevó a cabo en Guadarranque). Durante la campaña, a través de cuentos, juegos y actividades, los niños aprendieron todo lo relacionado con el reciclaje de basuras, cuidado del litoral y el respeto hacia el ecosistema. En ambas playas, tras

recibir la pertinente explicación por parte de los monitores de esta campaña de cómo se reciclan las basuras, los niños se dirigieron al litoral para recoger colillas y otros desechos y luego depositarlos en sus correspondientes contenedores. Los pequeños recibieron gorras y otros objetos entre los que se contaba el cuento “Limpita, la playa más bonita”, que este año se ha editado en formato bilingüe. En la playa de Torreguadiaro, además, aprovecharon para depositar envases en el pez de reciclaje que se ubicó a principios del verano. El teniente de alcalde de Medio Ambiente, Juan Serván, tras la visita a la playa de Torreguadiaro, reconoció que el tiempo ha sido espléndido para el desarrollo de esta actividad que se inició en Puente Mayorga. “Seguimos trasladándonos a

las playas del municipio para que todos los niños tengan la oportunidad de participar en esta campaña. Repetiremos en Torreguadiaro, volveremos a la Bahía; en definitiva, seguiremos inculcando estos valores tan importantes hasta finales de mes durante seis citas”, aclaró el edil. Serván explicó que “el objetivo más importante es la concienciación de los más pequeños y no tan jóvenes, y creo que es un éxito. Esta iniciativa también influye en los adultos -continuó-, y lo podemos comprobar en Torreguadiaro hoy, ya que el pez de reciclaje que pusimos

en marcha en junio se va llenando con plásticos y envases usados; por tanto, vamos consiguiendo el fin que nos proponemos”, comentó. El edil recordó que en cada sesión se cuenta con hasta 25 niños que en muchas ocasiones vienen acompañados por sus padres. “Por lo tanto, nos sentimos muy satisfechos con la buena acogida de esta actividad, con la esperanza de que valga también para el día de mañana y los niños piensen que cuidar el medio ambiente es mirar por su futuro”, concluyó.

Learning to keep the beach clean, as a summer task • The little ones on Torreguadiaro beach are participating in the municipal initiative “Really clean: the prettiest beach”. • This proposal is aimed at educating and raising awareness, as well as teaching healthy practices as users, to improve the maintenance and cleanliness of beaches.

Educating and raising awareness about the need of looking after nature and especially, our beaches, as a task and homework for summer. “Really clean: the prettiest beach” returned to the coastline of San Roque with two new events. It is the recycling campaign of the Environmental Department aimed at children, which came to Torreguadiaro beach (this activity was also carried out in Guadarranque). During the campaign, through stories, games and

activities, children learned about everything relating to waste, looking after the coastline and respect for the ecosystem. On both beaches, after receiving the relevant explanation from the supervisors of this campaign about how waste is recycled, the children headed to the coast to collect cigarette butts and other waste before depositing them in their corresponding containers. The children received hats and other objects which included the story “Really clean: the prettiest beach”,

which was published in a bilingual edition this year. On Torreguadiaro beach, they also took the chance to deposit containers in the recycling fish which was installed at the start of summer. The delegate for the Environment, Juan Serván, after visiting Torreguadiaro beach, acknowledged that the weather was fantastic for carrying out this activity which began in Puente Mayorga. “We continue to visit the beaches in the municipality so that all the children can have the chance to participate in this campaign. We will do it again in Torreguadiaro, we will return to the Bay; ultimately, we will continue to instil these very important values up to the end of the month during six events” clarified the councillor. Serván explained that “the most important objective is to raise awareness among the very young and the not

so young, and I think that it is a success. This initiative also has an influence on adults, and we can see this in Torreguadiaro today, as the recycling fish that we launched in June is gradually filling with plastics and used containers; therefore, we are gradually achieving the goal that we set” he set. Si durante el año pasado soportó IVA en otros países de la UE, recuerde que tiene hasta el próximo 30 de septiembre para pedir la devolución. IVA. Si envía a algún trabajador a realizar tareas a otros países de la Unión Europea, es habitual que tenga gastos por los que soporte IVA del país en cuestión (hoteles, alquiler de vehículos o de salas de reuniones, acceso a ferias...) Pues bien: o Ese IVA no puede deducirse en las declaraciones que presenta en España, y para recuperarlo debe solicitar su devolución presentando ante Hacienda el modelo 360. Debe presentarlo obligatoriamente por Internet, junto con una copia de las facturas que justifiquen el IVA que ha soportado. o Y será la propia Hacienda española la que gestionará la devolución ante el país en el que se soportó el IVA. Plazo. Presente una solicitud de devolución por cada país en que haya soportado IVA. Puede hacerlo por períodos trimestrales (si la solicitud supera el mínimo –por país– de 400 euros) o anuales (en este caso el mínimo es de 50 euros). Tenga en cuenta que para solicitar la devolución del IVA soportado en

2018 tiene de plazo hasta el próximo 30 de septiembre. No espere. No obstante, si en el primer y segundo trimestre de 2019 ha soportado IVA de otros países de la UE, no tiene que esperar a septiembre de 2020 para pedir su devolución; también puede solicitarla ahora. De hecho, si ha superado el límite trimestral de 400 euros, a partir de la finalización de dicho trimestre ya puede hacerlo. Y avanzar un año la devolución de un IVA soportado de, por ejemplo, 5.000 euros puede suponer un ahorro financiero de 350 euros (considerando un tipo de interés del 7%). Fuera de la UE. Si ha soportado IVA en países de fuera de la UE también es posible que pueda recuperarlo. Esto ocurrirá en aquellos países con los que España tenga firmado un acuerdo de reciprocidad de trato (actualmente, Canadá, Japón, Noruega, Israel, Mónaco y Suiza). Pero en estos casos dicha gestión debe hacerse directamente con las autoridades fiscales de estos países. Deportes El Club Algechicas MTB prepara la II Marcha Cicloturista Solidaria en Algeciras, el próximo 13 de octubre, para colaborar con la Asociación Bandera Rosa, en beneficio de pacientes y familiares afectados por el cáncer de mama

Pedaladas en rosa Manuel Gil Pedalear en rosa, o lo que es lo mismo, dar pedales a favor de la solidaridad. El Club Algechicas MTB ya trabaja en al organización, el próximo 13 de octubre, de la II Marcha Cicloturista en beneficio de la Asociación Bandera Rosa, entidad que trabaja en beneficio de padres y familiares afectados por el cáncer de mama. Como siempre, una iniciativa fantástica que combina una acción benéfica con la práctica saludable del deporte, en este caso, el ciclismo. La cita, como se mencionaba

anteriormente, se celebra el domingo 13 de octubre, a partir de las 11:00 horas. El punto tanto de salida como de llegada serán las instalaciones deportivas Enrique Talavaera, en Algeciras (tras una ruta cicloturista por municipio algecireño). Participar es mu sencillo, simplemente realizar una inscripción online (en la página de Facebook de Algechicas MTB se encuentra toda la información), con una pequeña cuota de 6 euros por dorsal (éste se recogerá días antes de la prueba en las instalaciones En-

rique Talavera). Destacar que tras la prueba deportiva, en las propias instalaciones deportivas de Enrique Talavera se llevará a cabo una pequeña fiesta con paella popular, animación para los más pequeños y diferentes premios y sorteo de regalos por parte de las entidades colaboradoras. Nadie puede perdérselo, una gran oportunidad de practicar ciclismo, por el centro de la ciudad, y a la vez colaborar con una causa solidaria tan importante.

Pink pedalling, or in other words, pedalling for charity. Algechicas MTB Club is working on the organisation, on 13 October, of the II Charity Cyclotourism Ride in aid of the Pink Flag Association, an institution that works to assist parents and family members affected by breast cancer. As always, it is a fantastic initiative that combines a charity initiative with the healthy practice of sport, in this case, cycling. The event, as mentioned previously, is taking place on Sunday 13 October, at 11 am. The start and finish point will be the Enrique Talavera sports facilities, in Algeciras (after a cyclotourism route around the municipality of Algeciras). It is very simple to take part, you simply need to register online (the Facebook page of Algechicas MTB has all the information), with a small fee of 6 Euros per number (it will be collected days before the event at Enrique Talavera sports facilities). It should be noted that after the sport, the Enrique Talavera sports facilities will hold a small party with a paella for the public, entertainment for

Destacar que este trofeo forma parte del Grand Slam y es uno de los cuatro más importantes del mundo. La final estuvo a la altura de las expectativas El marcador permaneció con empate en cuatro de los seis chukkers. MB Polo adquirió una ventaja de dos goles en el último tiempo, pero Brunei recortó la distancia y una falta en el último minuto pudo empatar el encuentro y forzar un chukker suplementario. Resaltar que el conjunto de Isolas se llevó la copa subsidiaria, tras vencer 9-13 a Brunei Polo.

Brunei Polo se proclamó vencedor de la Copa de Oro LG de mediano hándicap, tras imponerse en la final a Ayala. El equipo formado por la princesa Azemah, Matías González, Guillermo Wellington y Benjamín Panelo -máximo anotador del partido- cogió ventaja ya desde el primer chukker, situación que pudo mantener hasta el cuarto periodo de juego, en el que Ayala se puso por delante en el marcador. El quinto tiempo acabó en empate a siete goles, y ya en el último y definitivo chukker volvió a adelantarse Brunei. Matías González fue elegido mejor jugador del partido, mientras que el premio al mejor caballo fue para Venus, de Lucas James. MB Polo was crowned winner of the high handicap Gold Cup after winning 8-9 against Brunei Polo Team (winner of the last Beach Cup), in the final game of the 48th MANSION International Polo Tournament. En la regata participaron más de 50 barcos, con un viento moderado de levante de en torno a 15 nudos. Se planteó la prueba de recorrido entre la boya del aeropuerto de Gibraltar y la de recalada del puerto de Algeciras. ORC 1 y ORC 2 realizaban un recorrido más largo al ser más rápidas estas embarcaciones y ORC 3 y reducida realizaban un recorrido menor que las anteriores. La regata, que discurrió sin incidentes, dio la victoria: al “Ceuta Si” patroneado por Sergio Llorca

y del club ceutí Vendaval en ORC 1, al “Few Oil” patroneado por Vince Nicholls y del club anfitrión RGYC en ORC2, al “Enigma” de Jannifer Kinnear en ORC 3 y al Belesala del Real Club Náutico de Algeciras y patroneado por Juan Carlos Muñoz en la categoría tripulación reducida. More than 50 boats participated in the regatta, with a moderate eastern wind of around 15 knots. The course route was between the

buoy of Gibraltar Airport and the landfall buoy of the port of Algeciras. ORC 1 and ORC 2 carried out a different route as these vessels are quicker and ORC 3 and reduced had a shorter route than the previous vessels.

María Parra finalizó el Garden City Charity Classic de Golf, torneo Nº 20 en esta temporada del Circuito Symetra Tour, en tercera posición a sólo un golpe de la ganadora, la mexicana Alejandra Llaneza. El Dressage Sotogrande firma seis medallas en Marbella El Dressage Sotogrande se desplazó hasta Marbella para participar en un nuevo concurso clasificatorio de la V Copa de Andalucía. La comitiva formada por 7 binomios una vez más regresa a casa con muy buen sabor de boca y la ilusión de acercarse a la Final Andaluza. En una jornada en la que lluvia asomó pero finalmente dio tregua a los jinetes, el ambiente familiar y la ganas de disfrutar de la competición garantizó una vez más un día de Copa perfecto en el que el Dressage regresa a casa con 6 podiums. En Promoción 1, la linense Andrea Lozano (9 años) montando a Guardian se ha colgado la Plata con una prueba elegante y sin fallos. Mismo metal para el también linense Curro Ramírez (8 años) que en la prueba de Alevines con su pony westafaliano Daydream ha logrado una reprisse fluida y técnica. En Benjamines el Oro y la Plata han sido respectivamente para la pequeña amazona de origen ruso y residente en Sotogrande Antonina Morgalyuk (8 años) con el pony Eclipse, y la algecireña Mariana Fernández (9años) a lomos de Piropo. En Clásica, un vez más la prueba más disputada del concurso, el Dressage se lleva el Bronce a las riendas de la linense Natalia Ortiz con Fudji demostrando en pista una ejecución fluida en la que la amazona ha conseguido gestionar la difícil tensión del westfaliano brillando sobre todo en ese trote medio espectacular y los cambios de pie con los que tanto nos hacen disfrutar este binomio. Por su parte la británica afincada en San Martín del Tesorillo, Louise Thorne con su caballo Caramelo se ha posicionado en la quinta posición, siendo destacable la gran evolución de este binomio que con su progreso en los ejercicios de paso y los cambios de pie remonta medias abriendo interesantes opciones de cara a la final andaluza.. Por su parte el almonteño Diego Ramírez, entrenador del equipo, ha corrido la prueba de Potros 5 años con el hannoveriano Tango, propiedad de Coral Buenestado, subiendo al primer cajón y dejando patente el gran potencial de este caballo con medias de 7,5 y 8.

On a day where rain made an appearance but ultimately didn´t bother the riders, the family atmosphere and the desire to enjoy the competition once again guaranteed a perfect Cup day where the Dressage team returned home with 6 podium finishes. In Promotion 1, the La Línea native Andrea Lozano (9 years) riding Guardian took Silver in an elegant heat without errors. The same medal was earned by fellow La Línea rider Curro Ramírez (8 years) who, in the Under-12´s heat with her Westphalian horse Daydream achieved a fluid and technical reprise. In the Under-10´s the Gold and Silver went respectively to the young rider of Russian origin, residing in Sotogrande Antonina Morgalyuk (8 years) with the pony Eclipse, and the Algeciras rider Mariana Fernández (9 years) riding Piropo. In Classical, once again the most closely-fought event of the competition, Dressage took Bronze with the riding of the La Línea local Natalia Ortiz with Fudji demonstrating fluid execution in the ring, with the rider managing to manage the difficult tension of the Westphalian, dazzling above all in the spectacular medium trot and the feet changes that really make us enjoy this pairing. Rugby del Estrecho comienza una ilusionante nueva temporada La celebración del décimo aniversario del club, uno de los próximos hitos del club

M. Gil / Redacción Rugby del Estrecho comenzó la pretemporada más ilusionante desde su creación. Esta es la temporada oficial número nueve en la que la entidad se ha consolidado a nivel nacional y andaluz. Con un alto número de inscritos para el nuevo curso 2019/2020, esperan superar todos los objetivos alcanzados en la pasada entrega de sus respectivas competiciones de Liga desde el equipo Senior al Sub 14. Ya se han calzado las botas y puesto las equipaciones para empezar la pretemporada sobre el estadio de Pueblo Nuevo de Guadiaro, que luce espectacular después de un periplo, el de verano, en el que ha recibido los mimos y cariños necesarios para que presente su mejor

cara y durabilidad. Los equipos que ya han empezado a entrenar son el Senior, los Sub 14, Sub 16 y Sub 18. Éstos últimos, los Sub 18, ya tienen en agenda su primer amistoso este sábado a las 11.00 horas ante

la escuadra de Portuense, mientras que el Senior también hará su primer test este domingo a las 11.00 horas ante el conjunto del Bahía 89. Por otro lado el curso para las escuelas de rugby base

comienza el 14 de septiembre, y ya se percibe la llegada de un buen número de adeptos a este deporte que no para de crecer en el municipio sanroqueño entre sus categorías de base y el Senior.

Desde la entidad que preside David Arias, Arturo López ha informado de que en un par de semanas se realizará la presentación oficial de todos los equipos que componen Rugby del Estrecho, en un año muy especial, previo al X aniversario de la creación del club. Por otro lado, aterrizarán en San Roque un total de cuatro equipos femeninos de la Universidad de Oxford, que practicarán su deporte favorito junto a las chicas de El Estrecho durante cuatro días. De esta forma, se da continuidad a las constantes visitas de otros clubes y escuelas procedentes de Reino Unido que ya visitaron San Roque el pasado curso.

Rugby del Estrecho has begun the most exciting pre-season since its creation. This is the ninth official season that the club has established itself at a national and Andalusian level. With a high number of people enrolled for the new 2019/2020 year, they hope to surpass all the targets achieved in the last edition of their respective League competitions from the Senior team to the Under-14´s.

They have now laced up their boots and the teams are ready to begin the pre-season at the stadium in Pueblo Nuevo de Guadiaro, which looks spectacular, after the summer, where it received the necessary care and affection in order to offer its best image and durability. The teams that have already begun training are he Senior, under-14´s, under-16´s and under-18´s. The latter, the

under-18´s, now have their first friendly on the agenda this Saturday at 11 am, against the Portuense side, while the Senior team will also face their first test tis Sunday at 11 am, against the Bahía 89 side. On the other hand, the year for the grassroots rugby schools begins on 14 September, and we are already seeing a good number of enthusiasts of this sport which continues to grow in the

municipality of San Roque in its grassroots and Senior categories. Gran éxito, un septiembre más, de la sexta edición del Torneo Tarifa Beach Polo; una cita por todo lo alto que combina toda la emoción de este espectacular deporte, en una ubicación envidiable (frente al Chiringuito Carbones 13) y con una organización exquisita, una vez más, a cargo Isabel de Borbón. Suma perfecta de factores, éxito asegurado. Dos jornadas de mucha emoción y mucho polo, en esta modalidad orientada al espectáculo en la playa en el que los equipos los forman sólo dos jugadores y se juega en una cancha de dimensiones reducidas, con una bocha especial. El torneo comenzó en la tarde

del sábado (14 de septiembre), jornada prevista para los cruces y primeros partidos de la competición; lo que dejó los duelos definitivos para el mediodía del domingo en la playa tarifeña. Finalmente, el conjunto de Trocadero Baqué, formado por Álvaro Muñzo Escassi y Carlos Piñal, se proclamó ganador al imponerse en la final a la dupla del equipo Hotel Los Lances por

cinco goles a uno. Resaltar que durante todo el fin de semana, el ambiente alrededor de los partidos, el propio chiringuito y todo lo relacionado con el evento (música en directo, actuaciones, cena, etc.); elevó aún más la relevancia de una cita que ya es toda una referencia en el calendario deportivo y cuya continuidad está más que asegurada.

Pablo Herrera y Adrián Gavira se adjudicaron el título de campeones de España por tercer año consecutivo. La pareja española internacional hizo valer su condición de favoritos para alzarse con el título en un torneo brillante y demostrar toda su clase y alto nivel competitivo en el campeonato nacional disputado en Fuengirola. El castellonense y el sanroqueño vencieron en la final por un marcador de 2-0 (2117 y 21-17) a la pareja Mendénes-Huerta, que partía como la favorita número dos del Nacional. En semifinales, disputadas en la matinal del domingo, habían vencido a Sanfélix-Matos por 2-0 (21-15 y 21-15).

Ahora, Herrera-Gavira se prepararán para viajar a Roma, donde esta semana

las espera el World Tour de Roma, fundamental para la clasificación olímpica.

La pareja española cedió en cuartos de final ante los americanos Crabb Ta.-Gibb en un partido que bien podría haber sido una final por el espectáculo que ofrecieron y que acabó con un marcador de 0-2 en contra del castellonense y el sanroqueño (14-21 y 32-34). Tras un primer set con algunos errores, Herrera-Gavira disputaron un segundo set a un gran nivel, mejorando respecto al primero y poniendo contra las cuerdas a sus oponentes. De hecho, fueron por delante en la mayoría del encuentro y disfrutaron de varios puntos de set que les habrían permitido forzar el “tie-break”, pero finalmente los americanos cerraron el encuentro en un interminable 32-34. El dúo nacional indicó tras el encuentro que pelearon con toda la fuerza que les quedaba y no fue suficiente para ganar a Estados Unidos. “Terminamos quintos y estamos orgullosos de cómo ha rendido el equipo durante todo el torneo. Aquí termina nuestra temporada 2019 en el Circuito Mundial y la próxima semana pondremos rumbo a China para disputar el Pre-Olímpico que empieza en septiembre”, indicaron Pablo Herrera y Adrián Gavira.

Deportes Manuel Gil El Grand Surprise ‘Ceuta Sí’ se alzó vencedor de la II Regata El Estrecho A3 organizada por el Club de Vela Vendaval de Ceuta, el Real Club Marítimo Sotogrande y el RCN de Algeciras. Con Sergio Llorca a los mandos, el barco con base en Ceuta fue el primero en cruzar la línea de llegada después de 27,5 millas náuticas entre Algeciras y Sotogrande, haciéndolo con la distancia suficiente para ganar sobre el ‘Paul Chimene’ de Philippe Vigneron de Sotogrande, tras un recorrido en el que ambos han sufrido y tonteado con la cabeza de la flota. Una cita que contó con la participación de más de 25 embarcaciones. Fue protagonista también el viento de levante que sopló con una intensidad de 13 nudos, para un recorrido de 27,5 millas náuticas entre Algeciras-Ceuta-Sotogrande que acabaría con la victoria del ‘Ceuta Sí’, tras una travesía complicada por la mar de fondo y un viento de más a menos. II A3 Strait Regatta connects Sotogrande and Algeciras ‘Ceuta Sí’ ‘Takaroa/Alcaidesa Marina’ and ‘Flamenco’ winners in their classes of the second edition of the “threes” event. The Grand Surprise ‘Ceuta Sí’ was crowned winner of the II A3 Strait Regatta organised by the sailing club Club de Vela Vendaval de Ceuta, Real Club Marítimo Sotogrande and the RCN de Algeciras. Skippered by Sergio Llorca, the Ceuta based boat was the first to cross the finish line after 27.5 nautical miles between Algeciras and Sotogrande, and did so with enough distance to win against the ‘Paul Chimene’ of Philippe Vigneron from Sotogrande, after a route in which both suffered and had their turns leading the fleet. The event involved the participation of more than 25 vessels. The easterly wind also played a key role, blowing with an intensity of 13 knots, on a route of 27.5 nautical miles between Algeciras-Ceuta-Sotogrande that was to end with the victory of ‘Ceuta Sí’ after a complicated crossing due to the groundswell and a wind that reduced as the race went on. At the start and knowing how diffi-

cult the route would be due to the announced drop in the wind, the race committee led by the official Juan Luis Cervera decided to shorten the final stretch, putting the finish point to the east of Gibraltar instead of in Sotogrande as was planned. The first boat to cross the finish line

was the Grand Surprise ‘Ceuta Sí’ of CV Vendaval of Ceuta at 16:26h, after a race of almost seven hours, followed by the ‘Paul Chimene’ of Philippe Vigneron based in RCM Sotogrande which arrived at 16:41h. And the ‘Noticia Dos-Estrella Damm’ of Alberto Weill flying the flag of RCN CAS of Ceuta at

16:45h. Following the time compensation, ‘Ceuta Sí’ and ‘Paul Chimene’ confirmed the same order with a lead of more than nine minutes for Llorca´s men, with third place going to the ‘Takaroa/Alcaidesa Marina’ of Fico Jimenez Galeote a little more than seventeen minutes off the leader.

In the general race by classes, in ORC 1, behind ‘Ceuta Sí’ and ‘Paul Chimene’, third place went to the ‘Noticias Dos-Estrella Damm’ of Weill. In ORC 2, victory went to ‘Takaroa/Alcaidesa Marina’, followed by the ‘Pequod II’ of Miguel Santos racing under the flag of RCN de Algeciras and the ‘Kouko’ of Pedro Boutron, from CM Linense. In ORC 3, for the second year the winner was ‘Flamenco’ of Francisco Galera, based at the RCN of Algeciras, fourth in the overall rankings, followed in both rankings by the vessel of CM Linense ‘Winni’ of the skipper Alberto Fernández, and the podium was completed by ‘Belesala’ of Juan Carlos Muñoz, flying the flag of the RCN of Algeciras.
