Sensaciones de verano

Summer sensations

Hay cosas en la vida que no hace falta verlas o apreciarlas de manera empírica, se sienten de una manera predominante y son los propios sentidos y percepciones los que nos informan de un acontecimientos o hecho relevante para nuestra vida. Así se siente la llegada del verano, plenamente y en todo su esplendor, a las costas del Valle del Guadiaro y muy especialmente a Sotogrande. El aparcamiento comienza a escasear en Torreguadiaro, es casi imposible encontrar mesa sin reserva en un restaurante cerca de la playa, el calor ya se hace muy insostenible lejos del mar y el polo empieza a reunir a cada vez más adeptos al caer el sol en las privilegiadas canchas que rodean y adornan esta increíble urbanización. La carne para asados se acaba pronto el viernes, antes del fin de semana; el cartel de rebajas se hace un imán imposible de sortear para las prendas veraniegas; los primeros paseos por la Marina en el estreno del mercadillo nocturno y ya se acerca la no siempre llamada de familiar y amigos, algunos con algo de cara, para preservar en tu habitación de invitados su reserva de fin de semana. Alguna boda destacada en el calendario, las primeras jornadas rojizas de playa se tornan en tostados morenos chacoloteados; mucho ajetreo de pádel y tenis bien temprano por la mañana y más de una visita al club de playa para saludar a viejos amigos que cada año no faltan a su cita vacacional. Alguna cena en un jardín de Paseo del Parque, invitación para una cena “de blanco” y los primeros torneos de temporada estival que juntan a pequeños y mayores de varias generaciones en el tee de salida del 1. Mañanas de catamaranes en la escuela de vela y ensaladita fresca en el chiringo. Colas en Supercor y planes a diario con los amigos. Comienza el mes de julio y todas las señales apuntan hacia la misma dirección: un verano increíble en Sotogrande.

There are things in life that don´t need to be seen or appreciated in an empirical way, they are mainly felt and they are the senses and perceptions that inform us an event or important moment in our life. The arrival of summer is felt in this way, fully and in all of its splendour, on the coastline of Valle del Guadiaro and particularly in Sotogrande. There is beginning to be a lack of parking in Torreguadiaro, it is almost impossible to find a table without a booking in a restaurant close to the beach, the heat is now unsustainable far from the sea and polo is beginning to bring together an increasing number of fans at sunset in the outstanding pitches that surround and adorn this incredible resort.

Meat for barbecues runs out quickly on Fridays, before the weekend; the sales sign becomes an impossible magnet to overcome for summer garments; the first walks around the Marina at the opening of the night market and the somewhat rare call from family and friends, some a little cheekily, to make their weekend booking for your guest room. A notable wedding on the calendar, the first reddish days on the beach become chocolate brown; lots of hustle and bustle for padel and tennis very early in the morning and plenty of visits to the beach club to greet old friends who remain loyal to their holiday date each year. A dinner in a garden on Paseo del Parque, an invitation to a “white” dinner and the first tournaments of the summer season that bring together young and old from several generations on the 1st tee. Mornings on catamarans at the sailing school and fresh salad at the beach bar. Queues at Supercor and daily plans with friends. The month of July is beginning and all the signs point in the same direction: an incredible summer in Sotogrande.

La calidad como valor diferencial Es más que obvio y razonable que se haya convertido en uno de los temas más comentados en los diferentes focos y encuentros entre personalidades del tejido empresarial de Sotogrande desde hace meses aunque hace ya algo más de tiempo, cuando desconocíamos aún con proximidad la palabra “pandemia”, que ya estaba sobre la mesa. Sotogrande esta “sufriendo”, en el sentido menos dramático del concepto, un profundo proceso de renovación y expansión urbanística en los últimos meses que no se producía en el resort desde prácticamente inicios del nuevo milenio. Sólo hace falta elevar un poco la vista para ver que la combinación de palmeras y grúas casi es comparable en la urbanización estos días. Además, mezcla una importante conjunción entre obra nueva y rehabilitación de otras construcciones más que destacadas en el complejo a nivel gastronómico, residencial, comercial y hotelero. Precisamente, en esas labores, es dónde reside el factor diferencial y la gran apuesta por convertir Sotogrande en uno de los destinos más selectos del sur de Europa y diferente a sus competidores de cercanía. La llave para conseguirlo y la clave es la calidad. El nivel y alto grado de exigencia en todos los parámetros se convierte en la pieza fundamental para que todo crezca en el posicionamiento de Sotogrande en el sector lujo. Presumimos con asiduidad, a veces menos de lo que deberíamos y en otros casos en exceso, de contar con lo más exclusivo y selecto del panorama internacional. Cierto es. Clubes de primer nivel, despachos de abogados de enorme prestigio nacional, estudios de arquitectura relevantes internacionalmente, competiciones deportivas de alcance mundial, un estilo de vida único o algunos de los valores y atractivos más extraordinarios del mercado de alto nivel. Todo eso es Sotogrande pero para ello debe preservarse su umbral de calidad. En estos días hemos asistido a diferentes actos de inicios de proyectos que apuestan por ese éxito e inversión por la máxima exigencia. Pero no todos son así. También pronto informaremos de nuevas aperturas, inauguraciones y puestas de largo que caminan en ese sentido pero insisto, no todas son así y no todo lo que vea la luz o tenga el apellido “Sotogrande” guarda esos parámetros de calidad. Por ello debemos vigilar que así sea. Por otro lado, es para mí un orgullo que aparezca ya en esta edición del periódico el resumen de la primera cita del VIII Circuito de Golf Sotogrande. Una apuesta de Grupo HCP del año 2013 y que hoy sigue más viva que nunca. Gracias a todos los que nos acompañaron en la prueba inicial en Valle Romano Golf, todo un éxito, y que ya ponen la mirada en la siguiente cita el próximo 31 de julio en Alcaidesa Golf Heathland. Quality as the distinctive value It is very obvious and reasonable that it has become one of the most discussed issues in the different forums and gatherings between figures from the Sotogrande business community over recent months although it has been some time, when we were still unfamiliar with the word “pandemic”, that it has been on the table. Sotogrande is “suffering” in the least dramatic sense of the concept, a profound process of renovation and urban expansion over recent months that had not taken place in the resort practically since the start of the new millennium. It is simply necessary to look up a little to see that the combination of palm trees and cranes is comparable in the resort at present.Also, it mixes a significant blend between new works and the renovation of other highly notable constructions in the resort in terms of gastronomy, homes, business and hotels. Indeed, that work is where the distinctive value lies and the big commitment to make Sotogrande one of the most select destinations in southern Europe and different to its nearby competitors. The key to achieving it and the key is quality. The level and high degree of demand across all parameters becomes the cornerstone to make everything grow to position Sotogrande in the luxury sector. We frequently boast, sometimes less than we should and at other times too much, to have the most exclusive and select things on the international scene. It is true. Top level clubs, lawyers’ offices of enormous national prestige, architecture studios of international importance, sporting competitions with a global reach, a unique lifestyle and some of the most extraordinary high-end assets and attractions. Sotogrande is all of that but to this end it is necessary to preserve its quality threshold. Over recent days we have attended different starting events for projects that commit to that success and investment in the highest demands. But they are not all like that. We will soon also report new openings, unveilings and launches that are working in that direction but I insist, they aren´t all like that and not everything that goes ahead or bears the “Sotogrande” surname has those parameters of quality. Therefore, we need to monitor things to make this the case. On the other hand, I am proud that this edition of the newspaper features the summary of the first event of the VIII Sotogrande Golf Circuit. A commitment of Grupo HCP from 2013 that is now more alive than ever. Thanks to everyone who accompanied us at the opening event at Valle Romano Golf, a real success, and attention now turns to the next event on 31 July at Alcaidesa Golf Heathland. Verano, color esperanza La canción de Coti Sorokin que popularizó Diego Torres pedía: “Pintarse la cara/Color esperanza/ Tentar al futuro/Con el corazón”. En estos primeros días de julio, cuando estalla el verano en Sotogrande, su luz nos invita a abordar nuestra temporada estrella con optimismo. La economía brinda datos alentadores, a la vez que aumenta la movilidad y despunta el turismo, con menos mascarillas y más pasaportes covid. La segunda mitad de 2021 probablemente será mejor que la primera: la pesadilla de la pandemia ha empezado a quedar atrás. Esto no significa que debamos incurrir en el regocijo infundado del profesor Pangloss, porque no solo no vivimos en el mejor de los mundos posibles, sino que afrontamos dificultades importantes, que po-

drían agravarse en el futuro. Para empezar, el virus no ha desaparecido, y estamos comprobando que la apertura irresponsable de las relaciones y reuniones sociales ha desencadenado rebrotes de la enfermedad en algunos lugares. Sobre el campo económico se ciernen dos amenazas. Por un lado, el notable incremento del gasto ha desequilibrado las cuentas públicas, y ha lanzado a los políticos de Europa y el resto del mundo a una carrera con el objetivo de aumentar la recaudación fiscal. El resultado posiblemente conspirará contra el dinamismo de la recuperación. Por otro lado, las políticas monetarias expansivas están tensionando los mercados financieros con la expectativa de que, por primera vez en mucho tiempo, no podemos dar por sen-

tado que los tipos de interés y las tasas de inflación se van a mantener en los niveles tan bajos a los que nos hemos acostumbrado. La política, por fin, acumula incertidumbres, y nos podemos ir tan lejos como el Mar de la China o tan cerca como España para verificarlo. Con todo, sin embargo, es innegable que los males generados por la

pandemia van disminuyendo. Por las características de esta crisis, no es descartable una recuperación económica vigorosa en los próximos meses. Tampoco es descartable un cambio en la clave de la evolución económica, política y social, que es la actitud de las personas. Ya lo decía la canción: “Saber que se puede/Querer que se pueda”.

In these first few days of July, when summer breaks out in Sotogrande, its light invites us to approach our star season with optimism. The economy offers encouraging data, while mobility is increasing and tourism is taking off, with fewer masks and more Covid passports. The second half of 2021 will probably be better than the first: the nightmare of the pandemic has be-

gun to be left behind. This doesn´t mean that we should indulge in the rejoicing of professor Pangloss, because not only do we not live in the best of all possible worlds, but rather, we are facing significant difficulties that could get worse in the future. To begin with, the virus hasn´t disappeared, and we are seeing that the irresponsible opening of relations and social gatherings has triggered outbreaks of the illness in some places. Disfruta de un increíble mes de julio en La Reserva Club • Con el fin del curso escolar y el comienzo de las vacaciones de verano, el equipo de La Reserva Club organiza nuevos eventos y actividades deportivas, da comienzo a los campamentos de verano y amplía el horario de apertura de The Beach. Aquí tienes un resumen de las novedades. Este verano, domina las pistas en el Racquet Centre Este mes de julio hay infinidad de cosas que hacer en el Racquet Centre. Para satisfacer la demanda, se ha incrementado la oferta de mixins de pádel a cuatro días a la semana. Los jugadores avanzados pueden jugar los lunes de 19:00 a 21:00, los principiantes los miércoles de 19:00 a 21:00 y los sábados de 10:00 a 12:00 y, por último, los jugadores intermedios están invitados los viernes de 19:00 a 21:00. Los partidos son una forma estupenda de aprender, disfrutar y divertirse en un entorno social. Participar en cada mix-in cuesta 10€ por persona y los sábados existe la opción de disfrutar de tapas después del encuentro por 15€. Los aficionados al tenis celebrarán este año el regreso de Wimbledon y festejarán la ocasión en el Racquet Centre. Durante el fin de semana de la final, que tendrá lugar el 10 y el 11 de julio, se retransmitirán los partidos en el bar del club de tenis. Los que se animen a jugar podrán participar en un mix-ins de tenis entre las 12:00 y las 14:00,

que incluye un sorteo de ropa deportiva Adidas, seguido de un almuerzo de paella y la retransmisión de la final. Este agosto, tendrá lugar un torneo del “Masters Circuit” con una semana de duración entre el 16 y el 22 de agosto. Está abierto a niños y adultos y hay categorías desde Sub10 hasta Sub18, así como categorías femeninas y masculinas. El torneo tendrá un formato de cuadro principal y habrá una entrega de premios para señalar el final del mismo. Recuerda que, si necesitas ayuda para mejorar tus capacidades en el pádel, los entrenadores de La Reserva Club están a tu disposición durante todo el verano.

Hay clases grupales e individuales para todos los niveles en las que podrás mejorar todos los elementos de tu juego. El programa de verano de la Academia de tenis y pádel del Racquet Centre comienza este mes de julio y dura hasta finales de agosto. Se trata de un programa muy flexible, para niños y adultos, que se lleva a cabo de lunes a domingo de 8:00 a 22:00. Habrá un máximo de cuatro jugadores por grupo y se podrá elegir entre sesiones de 1 o 1,5 horas. Podrá optar por probarlo solo un día o unirse durante una semana, un mes o más tiempo. Los precios van desde 20 € por sesión para los niños y 24 € por sesión para los adultos, con descuentos disponibles al reservar varios días. Estos programas de verano de tenis y pádel son una forma fantástica de mejorar la técnica y el juego. Take to the courts this summer at the Racquet Centre There’s so much going on at the Racquet Centre this July! To respond to demand, they have increased the padel mix-in events on offer to four days a week. Advanced players can play on Mondays from 19.0021.00, beginners on Wednesdays from 19.00-21.00 and Saturdays from 10.00-12.00 and lastly, intermediate players are invited on Fridays from 19.00-21.00. Sotogrande, escenario ideal para nueva iniciativa gubernamental de seguridad náutica • El Mitma presenta en el puerto deportivo su apuesta por la prevención de accidentes y la sostenibilidad ambiental en la campaña para velar por la seguridad en las actividades náuticas. • Entre junio y septiembre de 2020, un año atípico por la pandemia, se atendió a casi 5.000 personas en más de 1.500. Gil El Ministerio de Transportes, Movilidad y Agenda Urbana (Mitma) presentó en el Puerto Deportivo de Sotogrande la campaña de verano por la seguridad en la náutica de recreo promovida por la Dirección General de la Marina Mercante y Salvamento Marítimo con una apuesta clara por la prevención de accidentes y la sostenibilidad ambiental como mensajes prioritarios. Durante la celebración del acto, Benito Núñez, director general de la

Marina Mercante, repasó las novedades normativas que afectan a las embarcaciones de recreo y se concentran en el Real Decreto publicado recientemente en el BOE. La norma, que se difundirá también mediante las redes sociales, entrará en vigor el día 1 de julio y determina, entre otros, el equipo de seguridad, la navegación y la protección contraincendios, en la esfera de salvamento. Además, establece medidas de prevención de la contaminación del me-

dio marino y marca los requisitos que deben reunir estos equipos que, en esencia, proceden de la normativa europea. Las redes sociales serán nuevamente el escenario elegido para desarrollar esta campaña de verano de seguridad en las actividades náuticas a través de los perfiles de Twitter e Instagram de @mitmagob, @salvamentogob y @anen_ nautica. Esta campaña sigue siendo una prioridad para el Ministerio de Transpor-

¿Qué actitud te pones hoy? Es algo tan personal cómo la ropa que decides llevar cada día. La actitud con la que te vistas cada mañana será la decisión más importante que puedas tomar a diario. Con ella, estás eligiendo tu postura ante la vida, lo que influirá, más que ninguna otra cosa, en el resultado que consigas. Cuando empiezas el día con un “todo me sale mal”, “no soporto a mi jefe“, “estoy harto de todo” .. ¿Cómo quieres sentirte bien cuando estás envenenando tu cuerpo con la adrenalina y el cortisol que te provocan estos pensamientos? Llevas al estrés de copiloto. ¿Has pensado alguna vez quién es la persona a la que más escuchas? Te adelanto que no es tu pareja, ni tus hijos, ni el mejor de tus amigos. Es a ti mismo, a la voz de tu cabeza. Y no te suele decir cosas bonitas, pero cómo no te das cuenta, tragas ese veneno en forma de pequeñas píldoras de “cómo voy a empezar de nuevo con la edad que tengo”, “nunca me tienen en cuenta” .... Con este diálogo interno, caldo de cultivo de los fracasos, vamos por la vida malhumorados y cabizbajos, el veneno es letal a pequeñas dosis y lo que la mente piensa el cuerpo lo refleja. Nos cuidamos por fuera, físicamente, especialmente ahora en verano, pero ¿Cómo nos cuidamos por dentro? No prestamos atención a los pensamientos negativos que tenemos a diario. Vamos a aprovechar esta maravillosa época de sol para aprender a pensar de forma diferente, con pensamientos positivos que nos ayuden, hasta hacer de ello un hábito. Y se puede. Practicando mucho. Empieza por darte cuenta de la voz que habla en tu cabeza, pellízcate cada vez que te hables feo, levanta la mirada, estira tu espalda y cambia esa

voz amarga por una dulce y potenciadora. La sonrisa aparecerá en tu cara y el alivio en tu cuerpo. Ahora puedes actuar. Lo harás con una energía diferente. Y el resultado, te aseguro, también será distinto. Una actitud positiva no significa que vayas a conseguir todo lo que deseas, pero te va a permitir poder disfrutar de lo que tienes que hacer y, quizás, poder encontrar nuevas oportunidades en el camino. E irradiar vitalidad y entusiasmo, porque es gratis y porque nuestra actitud hacia los demás determina la actitud de ellos hacia nosotros, así que si aún no te has convencido de por qué me-

rece la pena tener una actitud positiva, piensa que se elige a las personas por cómo nos hacen sentir, y que tu actitud influye en tu entorno y en tus seres queridos. Las actitudes, cómo las emociones, son contagiosas, entonces: ¿Por qué no convertirnos en una de esas personas que sonríen y provocan sonrisas, que saben escuchar más que criticar y que generan emociones positivas, que funcionan cómo “medicina” para los demás? Tienes poco que perder y mucho que ganar, tu entorno y tu cuerpo te lo agradecerán.

What attitude are you wearing today? It is something as personal as the clothing you decide to wear every day. The attitude you put on each morning will be the most important decision you can take on a daily basis. With it, you are choosing your stance in life, which will influence, more than anything else, the result you achieve. When you begin the day with a “everything is going bad for me”, “I can´t stand my boss”, “I am fed up of everything” ... How do you want to feel good when you are poisoning your body with the adrenaline and cortisol that these thoughts cause? You bring stress along as a co-driver. Have you ever thought about who the person you most listen to is? I can tell you that it isn´t your partner, your children or your best friend. It is yourself, the voice in your head. And it doesn´t normally tell you nice things, but how you don´t realise, you swallow that poison in the form of small pills of “how am I going to begin again at my

age”, “people never bear me in mind” ... With this inner dialogue, the breeding ground of failures, we go through life in a bad mood and glum, the poison is lethal in small doses and what the mind thinks the body reflects. We look after our outer body, physically, especially now in summer, but how do we look after what is inside? We don´t pay attention to the negative thoughts we have on a daily basis. We are going to make the most of this magnificent period of sun to learn to think differently, with positive thoughts that help us, until we make a habit of it. And it is possible. With lots of practice. Begin by being aware of the voice speaking inside your head, pinch yourself each time you speak to yourself in an ugly way, stretch your back and change that bitter voice for a sweet and encouraging one. A smile will appear on your face and relief in your body Now you can act. You will do

with a different energy. And I assure you, the result will also be different. A positive attitude doesn´t mean that you are going to achieve everything you want, but it will enable you to enjoy what you need to do and, perhaps find new opportunities along the way. And exude vitality and enthusiasm, because it is free and because our attitude towards others determines their attitude towards us, so if you haven´t convinced yourself why it is worthwhile having a positive attitude, think that people are chosen because of how they make us feel, and that their attitude influences your environment and your loved ones. Attitudes, as well as emotions, are contagious, so: Why not turn ourselves into one of those people who smiles and causes smiles, who know how to listen more than criticise and who generate positive emotions, that work as a “medicine” for others? You have little to lose and a lot to gain, those around you and your body will thank you for it.

Más deporte que nunca este verano en San Roque M. Gil

• La Delegación de Deportes organiza múltiples actividades que se llevarán a cabo durante los meses de julio y agosto en la zona. Con el eslogan “Convivir más que competir”, el municipio de San Roque se prepara para acoger este verano de 2021 una serie de actividades deportivas gratuitas al aire libre organizadas por la Delegación de Deportes. El principal objetivo que se busca es “promover la vida saludable” entre la población, pudiendo participar cualquier persona mayor de 14 años, salvo en las clases dirigidas, donde no hay limitación de edad. La Delegación de Deportes del Ayuntamiento de San Roque ha diseñado múltiples y variadas actividades que se llevarán a cabo durante los meses de julio y agosto. Habrá torneos de baloncesto 3x3 en San Enrique y Puente Mayorga; fút-

bol playa en Puente Mayorga; voley playa en Puente y Torreguadiaro; y balonmano playa en Torreguadiaro, donde también se impartirán clases dirigidas. En cuanto a los torneos previstos, el primero será uno de baloncesto 3x3 que se desarrollará frente al Edificio de Usos Múltiples de San Enrique los días 29 y 30 de julio. Se prevé un máximo de 20 equipos, que pueden ser mixtos. Los partidos durarán un máximo de 7 minutos en la fase de grupos (o si algún equipo llega antes a 21 puntos) y serán de 10 minutos en la fase final. Los días 21 y 22 de agosto se disputará en la playa de Torreguadiaro un torneo de balonmano playa, pensado para un

máximo de 16 equipos, que pueden ser mixtos y de un máximo de 6 jugadores (4 más 2). En la fase de grupos los partidos durarán 7 minutos,

saldándose los empates con tandas de tres penaltis por equipo. En la fase final, los encuentros serán de diez minutos, saldándose también los

empates con tandas de tres penaltis por equipo. El día 22 de agosto se disputará en Torreguadiaro un torneo de voley playa con un máximo de 16 equipos de tres jugadores (2 más 1). También pueden ser equipos mixtos. Los partidos serán al mejor equipo de tres sets de 15 puntos. También el 22 de agosto en Torreguadiaro se desarrollarán unas clases dirigidas en las que monitores deportivos enseñarán a los asistentes a llevar a cabo distintos ejercicios. Funcionarán simultáneamente dos escenarios, con un máximo de 25 participantes en cada uno en cada ocasión, y podrán participar personas de todas las edades.

More sport than ever this summer in San Roque • The Department of Sport is organising several activities that will be carried out during the months of July and August in the area. Under the slogan “More about coexisting than competing”, the municipality of San Roque is preparing to host this summer of 2021, a series of free outdoor sporting activities organised by the Department of Sport. Council of San Roque has designed many and varied activities that will be carried out during the months of July and August. There will be 3x3 basketball tournaments in San Enrique and Puente Mayorga; beach football in Puente Mayorga; beach volleyball in Puente and Torreguadiaro; and beach handball in Torreguadiaro, where taught classes will also be given. With regard to the planned tournaments, the first will be a 3x3

basketball tournament that will take place in front of the San Enrique Multi-Purpose Building on 29 and 30 July. A maximum of 20 teams, which can be mixed, is planned. The games will last a maximum of 7 minutes in the group phase (or if a team reaches 21 points first) they will be 10 minutes in the final phase. On 21 and 22 August a beach handball tournament will take place on Torreguadiaro beach, devised for a maximum of 16

teams, which can be mixed and with a maximum of 6 players (4 plus 2). In the group phase the games will last for 7 minutes, draws will be settled with shootouts of three penalties per team. Pedro Hidalgo, 1.300 kilómetros a pie por una causa solidaria

El joven algecireño recorrerá la distancia entre Algeciras y Santiago de Compostela con el objetivo de conseguir fondos para la Asociación de personas sin Diagnóstico. Un desafío mayúsculo, un reto apasionante y una causa más que honorable. Pedro Hidalgo Calvente, un joven algecireño, comenzará una aventura increíble el próximo 1 de julio de superación personal pero que además está orientada a cambiar las vidas de muchas personas gracias a su hazaña. Este comprometido profesor del Colegio Puertoblanco-Montecalpe, recorrerá los cerca de 1.300 kilómetros que separan Algeciras y Santiago de Compostela como gesta y símbolo que inspire a colaborar con

el objetivo de lograr reunir fondos para la Asociación de personas sin Diagnóstico. Una entidad que trabaja en un loable y costoso proyecto creado por un grupo de médicos malagueños y que ayudará a todas esas personas que viven con la dura y difícil situación de no saber a qué enfermedad se enfrenta. Este programa ayudaría a diagnosticar un gran número de “enfermedades raras” y así aliviar la, en muchos casos, la desesperante situación de además de sufrir las consecuencias de esa do-

lencia y además no conocer con certeza su diagnóstico. Hidalgo hará frente a nada menos que 52 etapas (según su hoja de ruta marcada), que le llevarán por diferentes provincias, comunidades y parajes de todo el territorio nacional hasta alcanzar, allá por finales del mes de agosto, de manera triunfal, la Plaza del Obradoiro dónde le espera el Santo Apóstol. Respecto a la forma de colaborar con el proyecto, es muy sencillo. Sólo basta con entrar en la página web de “Objetivo diagnós-

LA ESTIMULACIÓN COGNITIVA COGNITIVE STIMULATION

Attention

La atención ¿Cuántas veces nos hemos olvidado del nombre de una persona que nos acababan de presentar?, ¿o coger un libro y no saber dónde hemos dejado las gafas?, ¿qué tal con las llaves del coche?… Unas cuantas veces, ¿verdad? Es bastante común, especialmente alcanzando ciertas edades, que se nos pase por la cabeza algún tipo de demencia senil, e incluso un principio de Alzheimer. Tranquilidad. Lo más probable es que se trate de un simple déficit de “atención”. En un artículo anterior señalábamos como la atención es uno de los procesos cognitivos básicos. Un proceso cognitivo es aquel que nos permite a través de los sentidos y la percepción procesar la información. De esta forma, la atención se centra en uno o varios sentidos dejando “aparcados” momentáneamente a otros. A modo de ejemplo, en la lectura el sentido de la vista ocupa un lugar preponderante. Estrechamente relacionado con la atención tenemos la concentración. Mientras la primera es la focalización en uno o varios sentidos, la segunda es la capacidad de sostener esa focalización, es decir, la atención. A colación de este ejemplo es interesante observar cómo algunas personas con déficit atencional en la lectura, en realidad tienen problemas de visión, pues los procesos cognitivos siguen de alguna forma un orden lógico. Analógicamente, al ser la atención un proceso cognitivo básico, sin éste no se pueden desarrollar los superiores.

Otro caso muy común es no recordar los detalles de una conversación. A este fenómeno se le conoce como atención selectiva. Al no interesarnos el tema, la concentración se nos hace cuesta arriba. A la diferente problemática particular de déficit atencional se suma, según algunos neurocientíficos, la tendencia que tiene la mente a escapar a la realidad, donde el 47% del tiempo estamos divagando, pensando en todo menos en lo que tenemos entre manos. Igualmente influye la enorme cantidad de estímulos provenientes del exterior como redes sociales, medios de comunicación… Así mismo podríamos añadir otros factores endógenos, como el exceso de preocupación. He aquí un derivado del miedo, del que ya hablamos. Según estos neurocientíficos cuanto más divagamos menos felices nos sentimos, ya que una parte importante de estos pensamientos tienen un carácter negativo. El estrés vivido durante este año y medio ha agravado en muchas personas un deterioro cognitivo que ya se venía padeciendo, siendo más acusado según se avanza en edad. Conveniente sería volver a recordar que nuestro cerebro tiene plasticidad, y que la atención se puede entrenar. Uno de los ejercicios con los que iniciarse sería ser consciente en algún momento del día de tu respiración y de la belleza que te rodea. It is quite common, especially after a certain age, that we will think that we are suffering from some kind of senile dementia, and even the beginnings of Alzheimer´s. Don´t worry. The most likely thing is that it is a simple “attention” deficit. In a previous article we noted that attention is one of the basic cognitive processes. A cognitive process is one that, through the senses and perception enables us to process information. Thus, attention focuses on one or several senses, momentarily “setting aside” others. By way of example, the sense of sight occupies a predominant place. Closely linked to attention we have concentration. While the first is focusing on one or several senses, the second is the capacity to sustain that focus, that is to say, attention. Upon mentioning this example, it is interesting to observe how some people with an attention deficit reading, in reality have sight problems, as cognitive processes follow a logical order in some way. Analogically, as attention is a basic cognitive process, without it, it is not possible to carry out superior processes. Another very common case is not

remembering the details of a conversation. This phenomenon is known as selective attention. If we are not interested in the subject, concentration becomes difficult for us. In addition to the particular problem of attention deficit, there is, according to some neuroscientists, the trend for the mind to escape reality, where 47% of the time we are digressing, thinking about anything other than the matter at hand. Likewise, there is an influence from the enormous amount of stimulation from the outside world such as social networks and the media. We could also add other internal factors such as excess worry. There is a derivative of fear here, that we already talked about. According to these neuroscientists the more we drift the less happy we feel, as an important part of these thoughts have a negative character. The stress experienced during this year and a half has exacerbated a cognitive deterioration in many people that they were already suffering, and it gets worse as they get older. It would be advisable to once again remember that our brain has plasticity, and that attention can be trained. One of the exercises to begin with would be being aware at some point of the day of your breathing and the beauty around you. Plan especial de limpieza, en Torreguadiaro La campaña “Cuida San Roque, es tuya” se centró de manera protagonista en estos días en Torreguadiaro para realizar labores de limpieza, desinfección y desbroce, además de la recogida de enseres y otros trabajos complementarios que realiza diariamente la Delegación de Limpieza Viaria. Además de estos trabajos, , los vecinos pueden depositar muebles y enseres para su recogida en los puntos destinados para tal fin, en horario de 7 a 11 de la mañana. Operarios adscritos a Mantenimiento Urbano y Limpieza Viaria se dirigieron a varios puntos de Torreguadiaro, aunque buena par te de la labor se ha realizado en la Avenida Mar del Sur. Allí, además

Educación El proyecto “Wonder Women”, elaborado por alumnas de 1º de Bachillerato y 4º de ESO, ha obtenido el 2º Premio en la categoría Senior del certamen internacional Wisibilízalas entre más de 1.700 participantes de 5 países. Este concurso, organizado por la Universidad Pompeu Fabra de Barcelona, premia a la página web creada por las alumnas donde han dado visibilidad a múltiples perfiles de mujeres científicas referentes a nivel mundial y a profesoras y antiguas alumnas del Colegio San José, biólogas e ingenieras que desarrollan su actividad profesional en el ámbito de la ciencia. Entre otras, han entrevistado a Astrid Vargas, una científica que actualmente se encuentra en Holanda, Doctora en Medicina Veterinaria, especialista en conservación de la biodiversidad, desarrollo sostenible y exdirectora del programa de cría en cautividad del lince ibérico.

Personalidades, todos de relevante prestigio en sus respectivos campos, van a ser los protagonistas de los Encuentros de Verano de la Universidad de Cádiz en San Roque, que se van a desarrollar en julio en el Teatro Juan Luis Galiardo. Estarán en San Roque Manuela Carmena, José Ramón de la Morena, Javier Sierra, Bibiana Aído e Irene Villa. Resaltar que el aforo del teatro estará limitado a 208 butacas. Todas comenzarán a las 20:30 horas. El rector de la Universidad de Cádiz, Francisco Piniella, agradeció la apuesta decidida del Ayuntamiento por continuar con actividades de este tipo, y los encuentros

de verano han resuelto las restricciones de aforo con la presencia de ponentes de alto nivel, y confió en que el próximo año se pueda celebrar convenientemente los 40 años de presencia de la UCA en San Roque en los Cursos de Verano. Anteriormente a su entrada en la política municipal, también ejerció de vocal del Consejo General del Poder Judicial entre 1996 y 2001. Mediation: activities for working on self-esteem of children at home Teaching the little ones to see the positive side of things will end up helping them to tackle adult relationships with assertiveness and to resolve conflicts in a constructive way. Summer holidays are a good time to develop the self-esteem of children at home, I have been asked about the self-image exercise that I mentioned in the article last month, so I want to take this chance to mention it again and explain another three simple exercises: 1. SELF-ESTEEM DIARY: By encouraging children to respond each day, before going to bed, to the following 3 questions: “The most fun/interesting thing about today was...”; “Today I feel proud of/because...”, “Today I helped...by doing”, we will put the focus on the positive aspects of daily life, improving mood and encouraging a healthy self-image. 2. POSITIVE GLASSES: Pessimism is one of the great enemies of self-esteem. With positive glasses - they can be the typical play glasses -we will help them to see opportunities in daily difficulties and recognise their personal attributes. We can play a game getting them to put the glasses on and say something good about the person next to them (“they always help me with exercises”, “she is a good friend”, “she is very happy with me”, “they know how to share”, etc.). So, when they find themselves in a difficult situation, we can also encourage them to put on the glasses and try to see the positive, as it is always possible to learn something from everything that happens to us, whether it is a conflict with someone else, a mistake or a setback. 3. THE TREASURE: This is a nice resource as it is something physical that the child can use whenever they need to feel better about themselves. Within the chest you can put objects and notes that remind them of how marvellous and unique they are. For example, phrases with their strengths, drawings of their skills, photos of their loved ones, memories of important moments or achievements, a happy memory, etc. 4. POSITIVE AFFIRMATIONS Positive affirmations are a fantastic tool to combat low self-esteem. It is simply about interiorising positive phrases about oneself. It is also about guiding the child towards the future, that is to say, towards what they want to achieve. And they are always written in an encouraging way. We can emphatically encourage the child to write down their phrases and remind them to repeat them a few or three times a day, for example, “I am capable of passing the maths exam”, “I improve every day because I try to”, “I am happy”.

Mediación: actividades para trabajar la autoestima infantil en casa Enseñar a los más pequeños a ver el lado bueno de las cosas, les acabará sirviendo para afrontar las relaciones adultas con asertividad y resolver los conflictos de manera constructiva. Las vacaciones de verano son un buen momento para desarrollar la autoestima de los niños en casa, me habéis preguntado por el ejercicio de autoconcepto que mencionaba en el artículo del mes pasado, así que aprovecho para volver a mencionarlo y explicar otros tres sencillos ejercicios más: 1. DIARIO DE AUTOESTIMA: Animándolos a que respondan diariamente, antes de acostarse, a las siguientes 3 preguntas: “Lo más divertido/interesante del día de hoy ha sido...”; “Hoy me siento orgulloso/a de/por...”, “Hoy he ayudado a.... haciendo…”, estaremos poniendo el foco en las cosas positivas del día a

día, mejorando el ánimo e impulsando un sano autoconcepto. 2. GAFAS POSITIVAS: El pesimismo es uno de los grandes enemigos de la autoestima. Con las gafas positivas - pueden ser las típicas de juguete -les ayudaremos a ver las oportunidades en las dificultades diarias y reconocer sus personales virtudes. Podemos jugar a que se las pongan y digan algo bueno de la persona que tienen a su lado (“siempre me ayuda con los ejercicios”, “es buena amiga”, “es muy alegre conmigo”, “sabe compartir” etc. ). Así, cuando se encuentren en una situación complicada, también podremos animarlos a ponerse las gafas y tratar de ver lo positivo, pues siempre es posible sacar algún aprendizaje de todo lo que nos sucede, ya sea un conflicto con otra persona, un error o un contratiempo.

Las afirmaciones positivas son una estupenda herramienta para combatir la baja autoestima. Se trata, simplemente, de interiorizar frases positivas sobre uno mismo. Es bueno, además, orientarlas a futuro, es decir, hacia aquello que queremos conseguir. Y se escriben siempre de forma alentadora. Podemos animar enérgicamente al niño/a escribir sus frases y recordarle que las repita un par o tres de veces al día, por ejemplo, “soy capaz de aprobar el examen de matemáticas”, “mejoro cada día porque me esfuerzo”, “soy alegre”.

Se trata de una actividad gratuita que organiza a Delegación Municipal de Bibliotecas, que dirige la teniente de alcalde Mónica Córdoba, con la colaboración de la escritora Mariángeles Chozas. Consiste en un homenaje a Rosalinda Fox, espía británica que ha protagonizado varios libros, entre ellos “El tiempo entre costuras”,

Alberto Baños y Víctor Leiva, campeones de Andalucía de Dobles de Pitch&Putt

M. G. Alberto Baños y Víctor Leiva se alzaron con el triunfo en el Campeonato de Andalucía de Dobles, disputado en el recorrido malagueño de Bil Bil Golf. Triunfo incontestable donde ambos golfistas dominaron el torneo y se impusieron con nada menos que doce golpes de ventaja sobre los segundos clasificados, Marcos Díaz y Carlos Mendoza.

Baños y Leiva, jugadores de categoría Cadete de La Escuela Municipal de Golf La Cañada (San Roque) y del Real Guadalhorce Golf Club, construyeron el triunfo en una extraordinaria segunda ronda, donde se complementaron a la perfección para firmar 98 golpes. El podio lo cerraron María Pilar Scenna y Nicolás Rebossio, con 160 golpes, uno

más que los segundos clasificados. El triunfo en categoría hándicap fue para Raúl Gallardo Fernández y Raúl Gallardo Pliego, de Cabopino (Málaga) con 150.

Rhone Hill se proclamó campeón en la final de hándicap de 6 a 8 goles, mientras que Ayala hizo lo propio en la de 12 a 14 tantos. Un total de diecisiete alumnos de la Escuela Municipal de Golf La Cañada (San Roque) participaron en los Campeonatos de Andalucía Benjamín, Alevín e Infantil, en el recorrido Almerimar Golf. Se dieron cita un total de 120 jugadores entre lo más granado de la comunidad. Los alumnos de La Cañada Esteban Ledesma, primero en hándicap y Luis del Rosal, segundo en categoría scratch, han dejado patente una vez más el potencial de la cantera del golf sanroqueño. En cuanto a las clasificaciones hándicap, los ganadores fueron Álvaro Font (Infantil masculino), Ana Rodríguez (Infantil femenino), Iván Díaz (Alevín masculino), Alejandra Ordóñez (Alevín femenino), Esteban Ledesma (Benjamín masculino) y Lucía Gómez (Benjamín femenino). Por otro lado, entre los más peque-

Las embajadoras de la Solheim Cup 2023, todo un ejemplo El costasoleño club de Lauro Golf fue escenario de la concentración de más de 50 embajadoras de la Solheim Cup que se dieron cita para recibir la primera entrega de su uniforme de la mano de PING. El apoyo unánime a esta iniciativa por parte de las jugadoras de golf la ha convertido en una herramienta fundamental para llevar a todos los rincones del planeta la competición internacional por equipos que congregará en España por primera vez en la historia a los combinados de Europa y Estados Unidos del 18 al 24 de septiembre de 2023 en Finca Cortesín (Costa del Sol, Andalucía). Entre las cien embajadoras del pro-

grama destaca también la presencia de jugadoras Solheim como Paula Martí o Ana Belén Sánchez, profesionales en activo como Patricia Sanz, Patricia Lobato o Camilla Hedberg, representantes de los medios de comunicación como Elena Jiménez, Montse San Francisco y Susana Escolar, entre otras, y socias de clubes de golf de toda España. El VIII Circuito de Golf Sotogrande se estrena en Valle Romano Golf •

Un notable grupo de casi 80 jugadores compiten en la prueba inaugural de la octava edición del Circuito en el magnífico trazado de Valle Romano.

Manuel Gil Jornada espléndida, con un recorrido reñido, banderas complicadas pero lleno de buen ambiente y muchísimo golf del bueno. Casi un total de 80 jugadores se desplazaron al fabuloso recorrido de Valle Romano Golf para participar en la prueba inaugural de la octava edición del Circuito de Golf Sotogrande. Una cita muy esperada en el calendario, tras el parón en 2020 de la competición en su formato habitual (se celebró una prueba independiente en Alcaidesa), y que contó por supuesto con todos los fieles que no se pierde una cita desde que este torneo comenzase a caminar allá por el 2013. Banderas al viento frente a la Casa Club, nuevas barras de salidas para los jugadores y como siempre todos los alicientes que hacen único al Circuito de Golf Sotogrande. Los jugadores se enfrentaron al exigente recorrido de Valle

Romano con greenes y posiciones de banderas nada fáciles pero que pusieron en juego una cita muy disputada para los golfistas. Como siempre, al término de la cita se celebró el habitual cóctel, entrega de premios y sorteo de regalos. Como siempre, con Vinos de Marqués de Riscal y con una pieza fantástica de manos de Jamones Popi con corte en directo para deleite de los jugadores. Plazas Abogados también estuvo presente en la cita, además de la siempre agradable representación de Gilmar con sus fabulosos regalos a los asistentes. Recordar también la colaboración de Hotel Club Marítmo Sotogrande o de Land Rover y Urban. Respecto a los ganadores de la prueba: Francisco Muñoz se llevó el premio indistinto a la Bola más cercana, mientras que Pablo Marques (Caballeros) y Stephanie Noll (en Damas), fueron los ganadores

de los premios especiales al Drive más Largo. La categoría Damas la ganó, doblemente premiada, Stephanie Noll, seguida de Montserrat Pérez y Consuelo Hernández. En la Segunda Categoría Caballeros, el triunfo fue para Rafael Padillo, seguido de Juan J. Rodríguez y Antonio Romero; mientras que el ganador de la Primera Categoría Caballeros fue: Víctor Naz, acompañado en el podio por Antonio Ramírez y Antonio Cidoncha, segundo y tercero respectivamente. Más golf, más Circuito de Golf Sotogrande, el próximo 341 de julio con la disputa de la segunda prueba en el trazado Heathland de Alcaidesa Golf.

A magnificent day, with a tough course, difficult pins but filled with a great atmosphere and lots of good golf. Almost 80 players travelled to the fabulous Valle Romano Golf course to take part in the opening event of the eighth edition of the Sotogrande Golf Circuit. A very eagerly-awaited event on the calendar, after the stoppage in 2020 of the competition in its regular format (a separate event took place at Alcaidesa), and of course it involved all the loyal followers who have not missed an event since this tournament began back in 2013. Flags flying in the wind opposite the Club House, new starting tees for players and as always all the incentives that make Sotogrande Golf Circuit unique. The players took on the demanding Valle Ro-

mano course with greens and flag positions that were not easy at all but that provided the golfers with a very closely-fought event. As always, the normal cocktail, awards ceremony and prize draw took place at the end of the event. As always, with Marqués de Riscal Wine and a fantastic piece of ham courtesy of Jamones Popi with live cutting to the delight of players. Plazas Abogados was also present at the event, along with the always pleasant representation of Gilmar with its fabulous gifts for those in attendance. Un evento con un ambiente deportivo y familiar excelente, y con un inusual nivel de participación, más de 80 salidas que, desde las 10 de la mañana hasta las 20:30 han llenado la pista marbellí de una Doma Clásica espectacular. Los 3 binomios adultos del Dressage, una vez más logran el pleno en el Pódium. El Oro en esta ocasión, se lo cuelga la amazona sueca, afincada en Sotogrande, Karin Orsing a lomos de la temperamental PRE Condesa; La

El Dressage inaugura el verano con nueve preseas en Montemarina Plata para la británica afincada en Sotogrande, y entrenadora del equipo, Louise Thorne, montando al CDE Caramelo; y el Bronce ha sido para el binomio formado por la amazona linense Natalia Ortiz y el westfaliano Fudji. Los menores, que empiezan a pegar fuerte en la arena de la Doma traen a casa 3 Oros, 3 Platas. En AP Poni Senior la linense María Vega (10) se cuelga emocionada en competición oficial, su primera Plata a lomos de Morning, en una reprisse bonita y correcta. queño pero experimentado jinete linense Curro Ramírez (10) con su pony Daydream, ha despertado el aplauso del público con una fantástica prueba que le valió una media de 64. En Asiento y Posición Poni Junior, la pequeña linense Ana Rodríguez (7) con Morning roza el pódium, quedando el cuarto puesto de la clasificación a pocas décimas del bronce, y en AP Senior, los jinetes

Dressage gets summer underway with nine prizes in Montemarina The Dressage family is growing, and on this occasion a delegation of no fewer than 13 pairings travelled this Sunday 27 June, to Hípica Hacienda Marina in Marbella to participate in its second Andalusian Classic Dressage Cup 2021. An event with an excellent sporting and family atmosphere, and an uncommon level of participation, more than 80 performances that, from 10 in the morning until 20:30 filled the Marbella arena with spectacular Classic Dressage. The 3 adult Dressage pairings once again all made it onto the Podium. On this occasion the gold went to the

Swedish rider Karin Orsing, who resides in Sotogrande, who rode the temperamental PRE Condesa; Silver went to the British rider and team trainer Louise Thorne who resides in Sotogrande, riding CDE Caramelo; and bronze went to the pairing formed by the La Línea rider Natalia Ortiz and the Westphalian horse Fudji. The minors, who are beginning to make a big impact in the Dressage arena brought home 3 Golds and 3 Silvers. In the AP Poni Senior category the La Línea rider María Vega (10) was thrilled to earn her first Silver riding Morning, in a beautiful and

smooth reprise. The same medal was earned in the under-10´s category by the Hispano-Argentine rider, Eva Escobar (10) who resides in Sotogrande. There was also a strong debut by the Madrid rider Alejandra Pecino (11) who resides in Sotogrande, riding Guardian she had a spectacular performance in the Promotion 1 event and took home the gold medal. Among the older children, the Gibraltar rider Julian Corbacho (13) rode PRE Kira, an expressive mare and in the Promotion 2 category he took gold with a fantastic event showing the

progress of the young Gibraltar rider. In Pony D, the small but experienced rider Curro Ramírez (10) with his pony Daydream, brought applause from the crowd with a fantastic event that earned him an average of 64. And this intense competition was closed out by the brilliant La Línea rider Andrea Lozano (12), who competed in the under-14´s event on two horses, the German pony, Guardian, with which she obtained an average of 68, one of the highest averages in the entire competition, and indisputably won the Gold; and a fourth place making her debut with her spectacular 6 year old PRE filly, Única, from the Campo de Gibraltar stud farm El Conde, founded by her grandfather, Agustín Cadenas, with which she is now beginning a new and exciting adventure focused on Elite Competition.
