Pues sí, quince días más tarde, al igual que sucediese en la edición del inicio de agosto de El Periódico de Sotogrande, en la segunda publicación del mes, tenemos que volver a reincidir en el tema. ¿Tan complicado es establecer un protocolo de actuación definido y con responsabilidades establecidas y repartidas entre todas las administraciones implicadas? Dicho sea de paso, que no es ninguna flecha hacia el Consistorio municipal, todo lo contrario, actúa de oficio las veces que sean necesarias por el bien natural y general de la zona al liberar nuevamente la bocana del río Guadiaro. Pero, ¿cuánto tiempo más o cuántos veranos más tendremos que repetir estas imágenes? Si el pasado 23 de julio, víspera de uno de los fines de semana más intensos de la temporada alta estival en Sotogrande el Ayuntamiento de San Roque tuvo que actuar de urgencia, pese a que sostiene que es competencia del Gobierno Autonómico, para liberar la taponada desembocadura del río Guadiaro. Prácticamente dos semanas más tarde tiene que volver a ejecutar trabajos de retirada de sedimentos y distribución de esa arena por el resto de la playa. Llevamos años tratando este tema, años explicando la casuística, años explicando las consecuencias y años esperando una mesa de diálogo, con buenas intenciones de todas las partes, para tratar de aclarar las responsabilidades y qué institución o administración es la encargada de actuar de urgencia o incluso de poner sobre el tapete un plan de sostenibilidad a medio o largo plazo para tratar que esta situación se reproduzca todos los veranos en varios ocasiones. En pasados veranos han tenido que abrir hasta en tres ocasiones la desembocadura. Si por logística y conocimiento local el Ayuntamiento es la administración más cualificada y con experiencia sobre el terreno para actuar en caso de urgencia, quizás los fondos empleados sí deberían proceder del Gobierno autonómico de la Junta de Andalucía. O viceversa, o al revés, o como quieran ponerlo. Pero establecer un procedimiento natural a corto plazo para actuar de manera efectiva es capital y más importante aún, fijar una hoja de ruta a largo plazo para evitar que se regenere esta dañina situación compleja medioambientalmente. Con voluntad y fondos todo es posible. Esperemos que algún día dejemos de ver la película del Día de la marmota en la desembocadura de nuestro río angular en Sotogrande.

If, due to logistics and local knowledge the Council is the best-qualified and most experienced administration in the area to act in the event of an emergency, perhaps the funds used should come from the Regional Government of Andalusia. Or vice versa, or however you want to put it. Sotogrande cuelga el ‘no hay billetes’ Para los más apasionados de Sotogrande, en todas sus versiones pero especialmente más en verano cuando brilla de una manera superlativa, es todo un regalo pasear estos días por la urbanización, por cualquier esquina. Si te dejas caer por el puerto deportivo, la marina, paseo del parque, chiringuitos, clubes de playa, restaurantes, etc., la sensación es total y absoluta que el complejo está al máximo de ocupación. Lo que en términos taurinos se suele llamar “han colgado el cartel de no hay billetes’; en referencia que se ha vendido “todo el papel”, para la corrida de esa tarde. Sin duda, más todavía tras un año y medio de pandemia, toda una bendición para los sectores de la gastronomía, servicios y comercios; además del evidentemente relacionado con el hospedaje. Al mismo tiempo, también le compro la idea a los más habituales y cafeteros de la urbanización, que la prefieren con una perspectiva algo más íntima y reservada para ellos. Especialmente inspirada en esos fabulosos días de septiembre que Sotogrande se guarda en el bolsillo para sus más incondicionales al final del verano y que son todo un regalo para los más pacientes cuando vence agosto. Un Sotogrande diferente, menos agitado, menos efervescente y más sencillo para encontrar mesa en tu restaurante preferido. Tenemos un paraíso para todos los gustos. La fogosidad del verano y la tranquilidad del entretiempo, ustedes eligen cual prefieren. Yo me quedo con ambos. Todo ello viene animado por las instalaciones, nuevas propuestas que ofrece la urbanización y un deseo obvio del visitante a recorrer nuevamente sus destinos favoritos con la vacunación en el brazo y la sensación del tiempo perdido. Pero todo ello, insisto, debe ir acompañado de un servicio y de una imagen de calidad acorde con lo que se presupone del complejo. Las calles, la limpieza, los accesos, todo ello es sumamente importante, no existen dos primeras impresiones en esta vida y sinceramente, si un potencial inversor llega por primera vez a Sotogrande y accede por las vías de servicio y esas desérticas rotondas, la sensación no será muy halagüeña, ¿no creen? Incluso, dentro de la urbanización (problemas estructurales al margen), quedan muchas aristas de mejora en numerosos servicios que podrán dar un salto de calidad en relación a los últimos años. El manido tema de los residuos, los ciertos problemas de comunicación de los últimos años o un más eficiente sistema de comunicación inter-vecinal y empresarial (en miles de ocasiones se ha hablado de la creación de fotos y grupos representativos para cuidar la ‘imagen de Sotogrande’ sin éxito), son capitales para seguir avanzando. Algunas de estas ideas las iremos desarrollando a lo largo del otoño en esta casa, ya saben que nos entusiasma proponer, pero mientras tanto disfruten un irrepetible agosto, al que le resta algo más de la mitad y que no vuelve. Sotogrande puts up “tickets sold out” sign For the greatest devotees of Sotogrande, in all of its versions but especially in summer when it dazzles brightest, it is a real gift to walk around the resort at this time, to any location. Especially inspired by those fabulous September days that Sotogrande keeps in its pocket for its most unconditional fans at the end of summer, which are a real gift for the most patient when August ends. A different Sotogrande, less busy, less high-spirited and easier for finding a table at your favourite restaurant. We have a paradise to suit all tastes. The spirit of the summer and the peacefulness of the autumn, you decide which you prefer. I would take both. All of this is livened up by the facilities, new proposals offered by the resort and a clear desire of visitors to once again explore their favourite destinations with the vaccine in their arm and the feeling of lost time. However, I insist, all of that must be accompanied by service and a quality image that is befitting of what is assumed about the resort. The streets, cleaning, entrances, all of that is extremely important, there are no two first impressions in this life and honestly, if a potential investor arrives in Sotogrande and enters the service roads and those desert roundabouts, the feeling won´t be very flattering, don´t you think? Even, within the resort (aside from structural problems), there are many aspects to improve in several services that could take a leap up in terms of quality compared to recent years. The hackneyed issue of waste, certain problems with communication over recent years or a more efficient inter-resident and business communication system (on thousands of occasions there has been talk about the creation of representative photos and groups to look after the “image of Sotogrande” without success), are essential to keep progressing. Over autumn we at this newspaper office will develop some of this ideas, as you know we love to make suggestions, but in the meantime enjoy an unrepeatable August, which has got a little over half left and that won´t return. • Una retroexcavadora retiró la arena que impedía la salida al mar del agua del río Guadiaro. Destacar que el Ayuntamiento ya tuvo que actuar el pasado 23 de julio en una situación similar.

El Consistorio libera la bocana del río Guadiaro por segunda vez este verano El Ayuntamiento de San Roque tuvo que acometer, por segunda vez este verano, la apertura de la bocana del río Guadiaro, que se había cerrado recientemente. El Consistorio realizó esta labor a pesar de que un informe de la Abogacía del Estado, según defiende el órgano municipal, establece que se trata de una competencia de la Junta de Andalucía. Pero, ante la inacción de la Administración Autonómica, ha tenido que actuarse de

manera urgente para evitar la muerte de peces y problemas sanitarios. Para los trabajos, una retroexcavadora retiró la arena que impedía la salida al mar del agua del río Guadiaro, mientras que un camión volquete transporta el material a cierta distancia. Hay que recordar que el pasado 23 de julio se realizaron estas mismas labores, también a cargo del Ayuntamiento, ya que

la Junta de Andalucía se negó a acometer estos trabajos a pesar de que estaban empezando a morir peces. En esta ocasión no ha habido que lamentar pérdidas en la fauna y flora del río, porque el agua estaba todavía suficientemente oxigenada, si bien en unos días podría haberse repetido la situación, que también genera malos olores y posibles problemas sanitarios. El taponamiento de la bocana del Guadiaro es una cuestión

recurrente cada verano por el poco caudal del río, especialmente tras los temporales de levante o cuando sopla viento del sur. Y en cada ocasión el Ayuntamiento debe afrontar su apertura, porque ni Gobierno Central ni Junta de Andalucía quieren hacerse cargo del problema. En 2017, la abogacía del Estado, a instancias del Consistorio sanroqueño, emitió un informe en el que señalaba que la

competencia era de la Junta de Andalucía, y desde ese momento, no se ha rebatido dicho informe. Además, el paraje se incluye en la Red Natura 2000, que gestiona la Consejería de Medio Ambiente.

In 2017, the state attorney, at the request of the Council of San Roque, issued a report that stated that the responsibility was of the Regional Government of Andalusia, and since that point, that report has not been contested. Also, the area is included in the Natura 2000 Network, which is managed by the Environmental Department.

Entrevista a Carlos Rodríguez Braun

“Una buena recomendación sería no imaginar desde el Gobierno qué necesitamos para crecer, sino dejar a los empresarios y a los trabajadores en paz” El Periódico de Sotogrande se sienta un verano más para repasar la actualidad política y económica con nuestro economista y columnista de cabecera. Muy buenas Carlos, un placer tenerte por Sotogrande y más aún cumplir con nuestra ya tradicional entrevista del mes de agosto. ¿Cómo te has encontrado la urbanización este verano? Entiendo que con atractivos estrenos y varios proyectos en marcha (nuevo hotel, nuevas construcciones, un polo muy renovado, etc.). Está muy animado con respecto al verano pasado. Hay mucha más actividad, desde lo urbanístico hasta lo deportivo, pasando por la hostelería. Sin olvidar, por supuesto, que hay mucha más gente. Creo que el balance general es claramente positivo.

Ha tenido muchos cambios, y los resultados no han sido buenos. Yo preferiría apostar por la libertad educativa antes que por supuestos salvadores ministeriales, que suelen desembocar en el sectarismo y la propaganda.

La inversión y las nuevas propuestas están ayudando a equilibrar los datos de empleo locales. ¿Ésa es la fórmula del éxito para crecer? Por seguir con lo anterior: no hay recetas mágicas. Pero sí tenemos una idea de lo que no hay que hacer: no hay que subir los impuestos ni aumentar las trabas, costes y regulaciones para los trabajadores y los empresarios.

¿Qué arreglo tiene lo de las pensiones? Que la gente se canse de que la engañen.

¿Cómo cree que económicamente hablando será la salida de la pandemia? ¿En U, en V o en jeroglíficos? ¡Si yo supiera lo que va a pasar no me levantaría todos los días a las 5 para ir a la radio! Sospecho que tendremos una recuperación vigorosa, que se frenará más tarde por los desequilibrios monetarios y fiscales. Conozco a gente que aún sigue de ERTE…, ¿quién paga esa factura? Siempre los contribuyentes. Como

¿Seguirá el mercado inmobiliario con la inercia positiva? El sector navega bien por Sotogrande en las últimas fechas. Ha habido un dinamismo importante, en Sotogrande y en buena parte de España. En la medida en que superemos la pandemia y se reanimen la actividad y el turismo, esto podrá continuar. digo en la radio: usted, señora. Por aquí se tiene buen concepto de la gestión económica de Juanma Moreno en la Junta de Andalucía. ¿Qué necesita el sur para seguir creciendo económicamente y no depender en tan alta medida del turista extranjero y el ocio? Es fácil que el nuevo Gobierno dé una buena imagen, después de casi cuarenta años de mala gestión

socialista. Mientras no siga el camino intervencionista de la izquierda, irá bien. Una recomendación sería no imaginar desde el Gobierno qué necesitamos para crecer, sino dejar a los empresarios y a los trabajadores en paz. Ahora las matemáticas ya no tendrán sesgo sexista, parece, con la nueva ‘perspectiva de género’…¿la educación necesita otro cambio más estructural?

¿Un deseo para el próximo curso que comienza en unas semanas? Que las pesadillas queden atrás. ¿Dónde le podremos escuchar y leer después del verano? Escuchar, como siempre, en Onda Cero, en “Más de Uno” por la mañana, y en “La Brújula” por la tarde. Y leer, también como siempre, en “Expansión”, en “La Razón”, y, naturalmente, aquí, en “El Periódico de Sotogrande”.

Madrid lo dejó algo más revuelto. ¿Qué le parece el impuesto especial ‘Anti-Ayuso’ que plantea el Gobierno Central para comunidades como Madrid? Es una maniobra política que, al ser arriesgada, exigió un desmentido a las pocas horas. La intención a corto plazo es seguir atacando a la Comunidad de Madrid con la mentira de que Madrid no es “solidaria” o que practica el “dumping fiscal”. Y el gran objetivo a medio plazo es impedir que la victoria de Isabel Díaz Ayuso de 2021 se convierta en la de Pablo Casado en 2023.

Al final, casi todas las recetas mágicas acaban en subidas de impuestos… Con una diferencia fundamental: le pagamos al mago voluntariamente, mientras que los impuestos nos los cobran a la fuerza.

Sotogrande: movilidad in-sostenible II Acera: Parte lateral de la calle u otra vía pública, pavimentada y ligeramente más elevada que la calzada, destinada al paso de peatones. Arcén: El arcén, banquina o berma es una franja longitudinal contigua a la calzada destinada para el tránsito del peatón o semovientes. Esta estructura puede estar pavimentada y forma parte de la estructura de la vía. El conjunto de la calzada y los arcenes forman una plataforma. La berma no puede ser transitada, aunque en circunstancias excepcionales puede servir de estacionamiento del automóvil y tránsito de vehículos de emergencia. Aparcamiento: Lugar o recinto destinado a aparcar vehículos. Si leemos atentamente las definiciones anteriores, enseguida nos percataremos de que aquí en Sotogrande están un tanto trastocados esos conceptos. En casi todas las calles las «aceras», como tales no existen, pues las partes laterales de las vías públicas o no están pavimentadas o no están más elevadas y si lo están, no están destinadas exclusivamente al paso de peatones. Por otro lado los «arcenes» se utilizan de aparcamiento no de forma excepcional sino habitualmente. Por todo ello tanto peatones, runners… como ciclistas… hemos de compartir aceras y arcenes teniendo que entrar muy a menudo en la calzada de los vehículos a motor con el consiguiente peligro para todos.

Hygge: (pronunciado “hu-ga” es una palabra danesa que viene a significar «Lo acogedor»). En el verano de 1969 (Cuando dicen que los humanos hollamos La Luna) yo me encontraba en un pequeño y tranquilo pueblo danés, donde hacía de Trapero de Emaüs y conducía una vieja furgoneta para llevar todo lo que nos daban hasta el almacén. Naturalmente dada mi sangre juvenil y mi aprendizaje, la conducía a la española: con el brío y el desparpajo propios de los pueblos ribereños del Mediterráneo (prueben Vds. a conducir en el barrio español de Nápoles). Yo notaba qué -aunque nadie me decía nada pues cumplía estrictamente con todas las señales- mi forma de conducir les debía resultar un tanto chocante pues me miraban más de lo normal. No se trataba de miradas recriminatorias ni intimidatorias y mucho menos de esas aceradas que gastamos por aquí. Los claros ojos nórdicos se abrían un poco más de lo habitual, eso era todo. Al cabo de un mes me acostumbré a conducir más sosegadamente. Simplemente había entendido eso del Hygge. Cuando Sotogrande se inició, todos sus moradores -aun sin saberlo- tenían el Hygge en sus cerebros, todos consideraban este lugar como «su casa», su lugar de relajación para compartir con la familia y los amigos, dejando a un lado las cotidianas preocupaciones vitales. La Naturaleza no cuestiona, no indaga, sólo «está ahí» ofreciéndote

ese sin fin de maravillosos espectáculos cotidianos que te permiten dormir a pierna suelta. Pero la ansiedad por obtener la maldita manzana del árbol prohibido empezó a emponzoñar este paraíso: Sotogrande se apellidó S.A. y el lucro mercantil hizo su aparición. Como siempre en estos casos al progreso se denomina «crecimiento» (sobre todo de los beneficios). Y hoy tenemos infraestructuras obsoletas en todos los sentidos: cloacas fétidas e insuficientes; estaciones subeléctricas que no darían abasto con una ocupación del 100%; tráfico colapsante; un estuario que se cierra día sí, día también Etc. Etc.. Ahora la S.A. se irá de rositas encajándole el marrón a la EUC (Entidad Urbanística de Conservación) que no es otra cosa que un invento de la Ley de Urbanismo para que los Ayuntamientos se zafen de sus obligaciones y se las endilguen a los vecinos. ¿Cómo puede ser que habiendo pasado más de cinco décadas desde que aquí se iniciase la urbanización, tengamos que empezar de nuevo? ¿Cómo es que desde el Ayuntamiento se potencie ese traspaso sin exigir responsabilidades a los promotores de la urbanización? O el Municipio de San Roque se responsabiliza de Sotogrande o tarde o temprano surgirá un movimiento de independencia municipal que nos devuelva al Sotogrande hygge de los orígenes. La lejanía de la metrópoli y la autosuficiencia así lo aconsejarán. Tiempo al tiempo.

Sotogrande: Un-sustainable Mobility II Pavement: Side part of the street or another public road, paved and slightly higher than the road, intended for movement of pedestrians. Hard shoulder: The hard shoulder is a longitudinal strip alongside the road intended for the movement of pedestrians or livestock. This structure may be paved and forms part of the road structure. The ensemble of the paving and hard shoulders form a platform. The hard shoulder cannot be travelled on, although in exceptional circumstances it can be used for parking vehicles and the movement of emergency vehicles. Car park: Place or enclosure used for parking vehicles. If we carefully read the above definitions, we can immediately see that here in Sotogrande these concepts have been somewhat altered. In almost all streets, “pavements” as such do not exist, as the sides of the public roads are either not paved or are not raised and if they are, they are not exclusively used for the movement of pedestrians. On the other hand, the “hard shoulders” are regularly used as parking spaces and not exceptionally. Consequently, pedestrians, runners...as well as cyclists... we all have to share pavements and hard shoulders and very often have to enter the road with motor vehicles with the subsequent danger for everyone.

Hygge: (pronounced “hu-ga” is a Danish word that means “what is welcoming”). In the summer of 1969 (When they say that humans set foot on the Moon) I was in a small and peaceful Danish town, where I was working for the Emmaus Charity and drove an old van to take everything we were given to the warehouse. Naturally, given my young blood and my learning, I drove it the Spanish way; with the verve and daringness inherent to Mediterranean people (you can try driving around the Spanish quarter of Naples). I noted that -although nobody said anything to me as I strictly obeyed all the signs- my way of driving must have been a little shocking to them as they looked at me more than normal. They weren´t recriminatory or intimidating looks and even less so the steely looks we give one another here. The light Nordic eyes opened a little more than usual, that was all. After a month I got used to driving more calmly. I had simply understood what Hygge was about. When Sotogrande began, all of its inhabitants -even without knowing it- had Hygge in mind, everyone considered this place as “their home”, their place of relaxation to share with family and friends, setting aside the daily worries of life. Nature does not question, it does inquire, simply, it “is there” offering you that endless number of marvellous daily spectacles that allow you to

sleep soundly. However, the anxiety to obtain the cursed fruit from the forbidden tree began to poison this paradise: Sotogrande took on the surname “S.A.” and market profit made its appearance. As always in these cases, progress is called “growth” (especially of profits). And now we have obsolete infrastructures in every regard: stinking and insufficient sewers; electric sub-stations that would not meet the needs of 100% occupancy; gridlocked traffic; an estuary that can get blocked up from one day to the next, etc. Etc... Now, the S.A. will get away scot-free, putting the blame on the UCE (Urban Conservation Entity) which is none other than an invention of the Urban Development Law so that Councils can escape from their obligations and foist them on the residents. How can it be possible that with more than five decades having passed since the resort started here, we have to start again? How is it possible that the Council encourages that transfer without demanding accountability from the developers of the resort? Either the Municipality of San Roque takes responsibility of Sotogrande, or sooner or later a municipal independence movement will arise that returns us to the hygge Sotogrande of its origins. The distance of the metropolis and self-sufficiency make it advisable. Time will tell.

Gran acogida del Bazar Solidario de la India en Sotogrande Redacción / M. Gil La Fundación Esperanza y Alegría consiguió alrededor de un millar de asistentes en su decimocuarta edición del Bazar solidario de la India celebrado en Trocadero Sotogrande los días 5 y 6 de agosto. Gracias a la colaboración de los visitantes, la Fundación ha recaudado más de 10.000 euros que servirán para realizar un tercer envío de material sanitario al MMT Hospital situado en el estado de Kerala, una de las zonas más castigadas por la variante Delta de la covid-19 en India. Un plan solidario que ofrecía a los asistentes la oportunidad de adquirir prendas traídas de la India, artículos de decoración, moda de mujer, bisutería y joyas, entre otros. En el evento no pudo faltar la habitual rifa benéfica en la que se sortearon más de 80 regalos donados por grandes marcas de cosmética y moda, así como vales para disfrutar de noches en un hotel de lujo.

Por segundo año consecutivo, la Fundación escogía Trocadero Sotogrande como localización de su tradicional evento. El espectacular espacio se vestía con decoración india, convirtiéndolo un lugar más especial si cabe. Con entrada gratuita, el bazar se celebró en horario ininterrumpido de 11 a 21 horas, siendo constante la entrada de personas y colaboradores al espacio, quienes han destacado el carácter alegre del evento. «Ha venido muchísima gente y el

ambiente ha sido estupendo. Todos con unas ganas tremendas de colaborar y de poner su granito de arena para esta causa solidaria», explicaba María Moreno, presidenta de la Fundación Esperanza y Alegría haciendo un balance positivo del evento. Entre los asistentes, se dejaron ver rostros conocidos como la periodista y presentadora de televisión Ana Rosa Quintana, la directora de Comunicación Carmen Valiño y el futbolista Adolfo Aldana quien condujo la rifa benéfica.

Great reception for Charity Indian Bazaar in Sotogrande The Hope and Joy Foundation managed to bring together around one thousand attendees at its fourteenth edition of the Charity Indian Bazaar held at Trocadero Sotogrande on 5 and 6 August. Thanks to the collaboration of the visitors, the Foundation raised more than 10,000 Euros which will be used to send a third consignment of healthcare material to the MMT Hospital located in the

state of Kerala, one of the areas most badly-hit by the Delta variant of Covid-19 in India. A charity plan that offered those attending the chance to purchase garments brought from India, décor items, women´s fashion, costume jewellery and jewellery, among others. The event had to have its regular charity raffle with a draw for more than 80 gifts donated by major cosmetics

and fashion brands, as well as vouchers for enjoying nights at a luxury hotel. For the second consecutive year, the Foundation choose Trocadero Sotogrande as the location of its traditional event. Detienen en Torreguadiaro el presunto autor del incendio en Santa Margarita Un operativo formado por Policía Local de San Roque y Guardia Civil detuvo en Torreguadiaro al presunto autor del incendio forestal que ha afectado a la zona de Santa Margarita, en La Línea. En cuanto al fuego, se habían logrado frenar los frentes activos, por lo que los efectivos contraincendios trabajan para su control. El alcalde accidental y responsable de Seguridad Ciudadana, Juan Manuel Ordóñez dio su enhorabuena a los agentes de Policía Local y Guardia Civil que participaron en este operativo por su “excelente trabajo”. El alcalde accidental recalcó el ofrecimiento a La Línea de toda la colaboración en este tipo de situaciones si se producen en el futuro, ante la necesidad de atajar unos comportamientos que no sólo afectan al medio ambiente, sino que también provocan daños materiales y pueden causar víctimas. Aunque a mediodía de este sábado el incendio seguía estando calificado como “activo” por parte del Infoca, se había conseguido frenar el avance libre de las llamas y se estaba trabajando para su control. El viento de poniente se ha convertido en uno de los protagonistas del suceso, porque si bien las rachas de más de 30 kilómetros por hora dificultan las tareas de extinción, por otro lado están impulsando las llamas a la zona de playa, lo que resulta favorable. Participan en el operativo 61 bomberos forestales, dos técnicos de operaciones, un técnico de extinción, un agente de medio ambiente, un técnico de supervisión, una unidad sanitaria (UMIF), una unidad de meteorología y transmisiones (UMMT), un vehículo pesado y tres medios aéreos: 1 Bell 212 (MA-2), 1 Kamov (KZ-0) y 1 Super Puma (KA-70).

• Se solicitará a la Junta que concierte siete plazas, para que puedan acceder al centro personas con pocos recursos. Las cuentas de la Fundación La Milagrosa, propietaria de la residencia de mayores de San Enrique, comienzan a mejorar después de unos años de dificultades económicas agravadas por los costes extras que ha generado la pandemia de covid. Así se ha puesto de manifiesto en una reunión de los patronos de esta entidad, entre los que se encuentra el Ayuntamiento, donde también se ha anunciado que se va a pedir a la Junta que concierte siete plazas, para que puedan acceder al centro personas con pocos recursos económicos. El alcalde accidental, Juan Manuel Ordóñez, y el teniente de alcalde delegado del Valle del Guadiaro, Óscar Ledesma, representaron al Ayuntamiento de San Roque en esta reunión. Al término de la misma, explicó Ordóñez que “las cuentas de la fundación van en una senda positiva, aumentando los ingresos con respecto a años atrás”.

El alcalde accidental agradeció al presidente de la Fundación La Milagrosa, Rafael Benjumea, “por la gran labor que están haciendo, así como a Mensajeros de la Paz, la entidad que gestiona este centro. En la actualidad están pasando una situación difícil, porque si bien no ha habido ningún fallecido por covid, sí

Debido a las dificultades económicas por las que ha pasado la Fundación La Milagrosa, se ha tenido que elevar el precio de las plazas, llegando a un coste excesivamente alto para cualquier familia media, lo que va en contra tanto de las ideas del Equipo de Gobierno municipal como de los patronos originales de la Fundación, algunos ya fallecidos.

Agosto: Mes para Conectar Agosto, mes del verano por excelencia, donde paramos para resetearnos y coger fuerzas para terminar el año. Ahora, en plena “faena veraniega” tienes una oportunidad única para tomar perspectiva de cómo ha sido tu invierno y pensar cómo quieres enfocar, vivir los próximos meses. La cuestión es ¿sabes cómo? Empieza por descansar, el simple hecho de cambiar de entorno o de horarios ya hace una diferencia, muchos estados de tristeza, mal humor y pesimismo se deben simplemente al agotamiento. Entrégate a un sueño reparador y da reposo al cuerpo. Y a tu mente. Desconecta del mundo exterior para Conectar con tu interior. Pero, ¿cómo podemos hacerlo si hablamos más de lo que escuchamos, criticamos más de lo que construimos, si el móvil se ha convertido en una prolongación más de nuestro cuerpo sin la que nos sentimos ansiosos, estando permanentemente conectados a la tecnología? Pagamos con nuestro tiempo y atención el precio de la hiperconexión. ¿Quieres quedarte sin siesta viendo los posts de las vacaciones de otros? ¿Desatiendes a tu pareja mientras revisas los WhatsApp por contestar? Eso ya lo puedes hacer desde enero hasta junio… Entonces, ¿para qué esa punzada que nos hace mirar el móvil de continuo? Tres palabras: “sensación de control.” La tecnología nos da una falsa sensación de control, de no perdernos nada, y al ser humano no hay nada que le aporte más seguridad que tener el control. Nuestro cerebro está diseñado para ello: “si hay control, no hay peligro”. Si quieres aprovechar tus vacaciones para conectar contigo y dejar la tecnología de lado, te propongo un reto:

• Desactiva las notificaciones, sólo son cantos de sirena. • Orden, cada cosa tiene su momento y su lugar, planifica un tiempo al día para consultar lo que necesites donde la tecnología no te reste de los tuyos. • Empieza el día con una sonrisa que te predisponga a vivir de buena manera las horas que tienes por delante. • Cuando sientas la tentación de acudir al móvil, respira profundamente, ahora tu prioridad eres

tú. • Atiende tus emociones sin juzgar, sin decidir si está bien o mal lo que sientes estando de vacaciones. Razonar con las emociones no sirve, las intensifica. Déjalas que fluyan y entiende para qué han aparecido. Ahora que no tienes el móvil en tus manos te animo a observar, a escuchar y a sentir. A conectar contigo. Y si crees que no puedes, sigue leyendo sobre cómo poner límites a tiempo, incluso a la tecnología.

If you want to use your holidays to connect with yourself and set aside technology, I propose a challenge: • Deactivate notifications, they are only siren calls.

• Order, everything has its time and place, plan a time in the day to consult what you need where technology doesn´t take you away from your nearest and dearest. • Begin the day with a smile that predisposes you to living the hours ahead of you in a positive way. • When you experience the temptation of going to your mobile, take a deep breath, now you are your priority. • Deal with your emotions without judging, without deciding if what you feel when you are on holidays is good or bad. LA ESTIMULACIÓN COGNITIVA COGNITIVE STIMULATION

Funciones cognitivas superiores Se entiende por funciones cognitivas superiores las funciones del pensamiento más elevado que emergen de la interacción social, del desarrollo evolutivo y nos diferencian de otras especies por su complejidad. Nos ayudan a pensar mejor, a ser más conscientes de nuestras acciones. Nos conecta con experiencias pasadas, nos ayuda a rectificar, a reaccionar , a saber qué queremos y cómo lo queremos. Nos da la oportunidad de cambiar nuestros hábitos en cualquier ámbito de nuestra vida como el emocional, el social y el cultural para nuestro desarrollo y crecimiento personal. Se distinguen distintas formas de clasificar las funciones ejecutivas superiores. En los anteriores artículos hablamos sobre las funciones ejecutivas básicas, teniendo en cuenta que están todas interrelacionadas y se superponen unas con otras. Seguidas de las funciones básicas, nos encontramos con las superiores tales como el lenguaje, el pensamiento y las ejecutivas. El lenguaje es instintivo, capacidad imprescindible que compartimos los seres humanos y que nos ayuda a comunicarnos combinando palabras, sonidos y gestos, dado que el lenguaje puede ser verbal o corporal. Muchas veces nos comunicamos de una forma más sincera a través del lenguaje corporal que verbal, ya que el lenguaje al ser una función cognitiva superior podemos manejarla con conciencia siendo socialmente correctos. Sin embargo, el lenguaje corporal puede contradecir lo que expresamos con palabras y manifestando así nuestros verdaderos deseos. El pensamiento nos permite razonar, tomar decisiones, planificar, resolver problemas, elevar nuestras

virtudes… Las funciones ejecutivas comprenden un grupo más complejo de funciones cognitivas, permitiéndonos desplegar comportamientos, como la capacidad de motivación para desarrollar nuestras metas, regular nuestros pensamientos, inhibir respuestas, establecer conductas, desarrollar nuestra conciencia.. En definitiva, engloba todas las funciones más elaboradas implicadas en el desarrollo de nuestra inteligencia y nuestro razonamiento. Gracias a nuestra plasticidad cerebral todas las habilidades cognitivas, incluidas las funciones ejecutivas, se pueden entrenar de la misma forma que entrenamos nuestro cuerpo a través de distintos ejercicios. Como cada persona es única, su proceso es distinto, por ello la evaluación inicial está enfocada en la personalización de los ejercicios que se necesitan entrenar.

Following the basic functions, we come to the higher functions, such

as language, thought and executive functions. The Hope and Joy Foundation managed to bring together around one thousand attendees at its fourteenth edition of the Charity Indian Bazaar held at Trocadero Sotogrande. Thanks to the collaboration of the visitors, the Foundation raised more than 10,000 Euros which will be used to send a third consignment of healthcare material to the MMT Hospital located in the state of Kerala, one of the areas most badly-hit by the Delta variant of Covid-19 in India. Among those attending, there were well-known faces such as the journalist and television presenter Ana Rosa Quintana, the Communication director Carmen Valiño and the footballer Adolfo Aldana who led the charity raffle.

Ayala y BN Polo, gran duelo por la Copa de Plata En la disputa de las ‘semis’ de la Copa de Plata Terralpa de Alto Hándicap, BN Polo y Ayala se impusieron en sus respectivos choques para, de esta manera, lograr el pase a la final, que se disputará este sábado a las 19:00 h. En el primer turno, en la cancha 2 de Santa María Polo Club, BN Polo supo venir de atrás en el resultado en reiteradas oportunidades hasta empatar en el minuto final del encuentro, y así llevar el pleito a chukker suplementario. La celebración del 50º Torneo Internacional de Polo en Sotogrande, que este año pone en operativa Ayala Polo Team en una alianza entre los grandes clubes locales, junto a Santa María Polo Club y Dos Lunas Dressage & Polo; logra reunir a varios de los mejores polistas del mundo entre los 6 equipos que pugnan por los máximos trofeos en el Alto Handicap. Por supuesto, el ultraconocido Adolfo Cambios que regresa este verano a Sotogrande, levanta pasiones allá dónde juega. En esta ocasión, el diez goles de hándicap juega para BP Polo con la familia Beh, en compañía de su hijo Poroto Cambiaso que ya apunta muy alto con 7 goles de Hándicap. El fenómeno ‘Sapo’ Caset juega esta temporada a los órdenes de Marqués de Riscal siendo uno de los cuartetos que mejor juego está

Manuel Gil Santa María Polo Club, acogió la exposición y diferentes actividades de AutoBello 2021, un escaparate de coches deportivos, motos exclusivas, vehículos militares y relojería que se

desarrolló a caballo entre Marbella y Sotogrande. Destacar la presencia de la firma inmobiliaria Gilmar, colaboradora de diferentes eventos y actividades de Grupo HCP.

AutoBello 2021 comenzó en Puerto Banús para dirigirse a continuación a Santa María Polo Club, donde tuvo lugar un concurso de relojes y el desfile de elegancia, con la participación de propietarios y coleccionistas de toda España. Seguidamente se desarrolló una exposición de productos, como coches deportivos, motocicletas exclusivas y relojes. De hecho, esta 33 edición AutoBello está calificada como “El jardín de los juguetes

para los mayores”. Esta actividad, dirigida a los coleccionistas de productos de lujos, fue también punto de en-

Un día de polo en Sotogrande • Todo lo que necesitas saber para disfrutar de una tarde de polo inolvidable en las canchas de Sotogrande.

Ir a ver el polo de Sotogrande cualquier día es siempre una buena opción. Con el tiempo acompañando favorablemente, pronto el lugar a primeras horas de la tarde empieza a llenarse de gente que viene a pasar un buen rato junto a sus familiares. Al llegar podremos encontrar una gran zona de tiendas donde hay gran variedad de productos que se exponen en los tenderetes: desde vestidos, joyas y los famosos sombreros Panamá (que son el elemento más popular del lugar) hasta servicios para poder planchar tu ropa. El polo es gratuito para todo el mundo que quiera verlo, por lo que es normal encontrar a gente de varias nacionalidades que también disfrutan de este deporte. También, al terminar el partido, pueden sentarse en alguno de los bares o incluso pueden tomarse algún aperitivo como un helado. No se preocupe si tiene algún niño pequeño, hay mucho espacio verde donde podrá jugar sin problemas o incluso puede montarse en algunas de las colchonetas. Para venir al polo se recomienda vestir para las mujeres vestidos ligeros (el blanco es el que color que más se usa, para destacar con la piel morena) y zapatos elegantes pero que no causen demasiado daño al andar. Mientras, para los hombres, camisas de lino y pantalones cortos. Importante no olvidar las gafas de sol y los sombreros para protegerse del calor.

Going to watch polo in Sotogrande any day is always a good option. Don´t worry if you have a small child, there is a lot of space where they can play without problems and they can even go onto the mattresses. In order to come to the polo, women are recommended to wear light dresses (white is the most widely-used colour, in order to stand out with tan skin) and elegant shoes but ones that don´t cause too much pain when walking. Meanwhile, for men, linen shirts and shorts. It is important not to forget sunglasses and hats to protect yourself from the heat.

What lies behind a thank you?

We can say thank you in all languages. If this word didn´t exist, our interactions with others would sound much less respectful and aggressiveness would arise more easily. However, what lies behind a thank you? What does it really mean? There is an endless amount of beauty and meaning in that phrase: THANK YOU. Those who note subtlety, will know that it has a really beautiful vibration full of joy. Saying an authentic and meaningful thank you is a way of channelling our energy and healing ourselves on the inside and outside. What does gratitude have to do with mediation? Giving thanks for a difficult situation that life puts in the way in a chance to feel capable and transcend towards the true joy of being alive. In order to achieve it, it is enormously helpful to be convinced that calm and inner peace hold all the answers that we need to resolve that difficulty. It is a conviction that fills us with energy, it connects us with our essence, it fills us with harmony and helps us to take the right decisions. It also greatly helps to understand others. The mediator enables the conflicting parties to experience the conflict from this perspective, but the formula to maintaining that attitude at difficult times isn´t always easy. I remember that when I was a child, my grandmother talked to me about imagination. She told me that imagination was something very important and that it was in everything and, especially, in books. I still didn´t know how to read so I would take them from her library and imagine something interesting they might recount. I pretended to read and that was imagination for me. As I continued not to understand it well, I asked her a lot and then she talked to me about things that she couldn´t understand the links between, such as the meaning that we gave to the unknown in the Universe, Love -what the songs my parents listened to spoke about and that I could not understand the reason behind- and paying attention to small details and being thankful, which I couldn´t understand beyond giving thanks out of politeness. Gradually I connected up everything. At present, my work consists of helping people to find new ways of tackling their conflicts and reaching agreements. Often, I encounter despair, pessimism and the belief that the problem has no solution. Then I turn to what my grandmother pointed out about imagination and I help them to imagine possible solutions to the conflict by paying attention to new details. In order to take imagination beyond mental blocks I apply the aforementioned Motivational Attractors, in whose base lies the idea that any difficulty is part of the path and an enormous opportunity to give thanks.

Si no existiera esta palabra, nuestras interacciones con los demás sonarían mucho menos respetuosas y más fácilmente brotaría la agresividad. Quien note lo sutil, sabrá que tiene una vibración bellísima y llena de gozo. Pronunciar un gracias auténtico y con sentido, ya es una manera de canalizar nuestra energía y curarnos por dentro y por fuera. ¿Qué tiene que ver la gratitud con la mediación? Dar gracias por una situación difícil que la vida nos pone en el camino es una oportunidad para sentirnos capaces y trascender hacia el auténtico gozo de estar vivos. Para lograrlo ayuda enormemente el estar convencidos de que en la calma y en la paz interiores están todas las respuestas que necesitamos para resolver esa dificultad. Es un convencimiento que nos llena de energía, nos conecta con nuestra esencia, nos colma de armonía y nos ayuda a tomar decisiones acertadas. También nos ayuda grandemente a comprender a los demás. El mediador facilita a las partes enfrentadas el vivir el conflicto desde esta perspectiva, pero la fórmula para mantener tal actitud en los momentos difíciles no siempre es fácil. De la conciencia de esto mismo, entre otras cosas, ha surgido la herramienta de los Atractores Motivacionales, que implican un ejercicio de reflexión e imaginación asistido por el mediador. era algo muy muy importante y que estaba en todo y, especialmente, en los libros. Primafrio desembarca en el Campo de Gibraltar • La reconocida operadora internacional resulta adjudicataria de los más de 400.000 metros cuadrados de suelo industrial que integran “La Gertrudis”, al presentar la mejor oferta de las recibidas. El grupo murciano Primafrio, compañía líder de Europa en transporte frigorífico por vía terrestre, vive un momento de bonanza gracias al impulso que ha experimentado su actividad durante la pandemia. A punto de concluir los trabajos del área recreativa en San Enrique Los trabajos para convertir la zona donde se celebra la romería de San Enrique en un área recreativa están a punto de concluir. Se trata de una inversión municipal por 112.000 euros que se adjudicó a la empresa Noralu, y que incluye no sólo la limpieza y acondicionamiento de este espacio junto al río Guadiaro, sino también la instalación de bancos y

barbacoas y la adecuación de un sendero de un kilómetro de longitud. El Ayuntamiento adjudicó en marzo por 112.000 euros (IVA incluido) a la empresa Construcciones, Excavaciones y Servicios Noralu SL la “Recuperación ambiental y área recreativa margen izquierdo río Guadiaro”, donde se celebra tradicionalmente la Romería de la Virgen de Fátima de

San Enrique. En enero de 2019 la Delegación Territorial de la Consejería de Medio Ambiente autorizó al Ayuntamiento la actuación prevista en este espacio, de una superficie total de 1,3 hectáreas. Se trata de la instalación de mobiliario de zona recreativa, consistente en cinco barbacoas y 20 mesas de picnic con bancos (cuatro

por barbacoa). Además, se contempla el trazado de un sendero desde las inmediaciones del puente de la autovía A-7 hasta la zona recreativa; la regeneración ambiental de la zona, con la eliminación de vegetación alóctona y la limpieza general del terreno; y, finalmente, la instalación de paneles de señalización de sendero en madera tratada.

Las mesas de picnic serán en su totalidad de madera, provistas de un banco a cada lado, con capacidad para seis personas (3 a cada lado). Las barbacoas serán metálica, con las patas ancladas en cuatro dados de hormigón, para evitar posibles actos vandálicos, pero garantizando el carácter no permanente de las mismas.

The picnic tables will be completely made from wood, and have a bench on each side, with a capacity for six people (3 on each side). The barbecues will be metal, with the legs anchored in four blocks of concrete, to prevent possible acts of vandalism, while guaranteeing their non-permanent nature.

Alison Lee, Team Buhai and the Aramco Team Series have written their names into the history of Sotogrande and La Reserva Club, as the big stars of a great tournament this August in the resort. The American earned an extraordinary and strong singles victory in the Aramco Team Series in Sotogrande, the second of the events of this one-million-dollar mini-circuit which is part of the LET (Ladies European Tour), held at the magnificent course of La Reserva. • La competición se disputa un verano más en la urbanización del 13 al 15 de agosto Llega una nueva edición de la clásica regata de agosto en Sotogrande, una tradición que cada año pone toda la emoción y competición del mundo de la vela en aguas de la urbanización. La XXII edición de la Regata Copa Sotogrande vuelve un agosto más, en esta ocasión, del 13 al 15 de agosto, tres apasionantes jornadas con varios trofeos en liza en una de las citas náuticas de referencia durante el verano. Este año, además de abrir el programa de competición con la VII edición del Memorial Antonio Muñoz Cabrero,

en el que suele tomar partido una amplia representación local de catamaranes; se unen como dos de los

trofeos en disputa de mayor rango, además del Campeonato de Andalucía de Cruceros ORC. Una regata que

cada año da cabida a embarcaciones llegadas desde diferentes puntos del litoral gaditano y malagueño y que

acoge una importante variedad de categorías (catamaranes, J80 y cruceros, entre otras).

A new edition of the classic August regatta in Sotogrande is here, a tradition that puts all the emotion and competition of the world of sailing in the waters of the resort. The 20th edition of the Sotogrande Regatta Race returns once again this August, on this occasion from 13 to 15 August, three exciting days with several trophies up for grabs at one of the leading nautical events this summer.

El Abierto de Golf El Periódico de Sotogrande celebró su 20º edición en el magnífico y renovado trazado de Almenara Golf acoge la 20º edición del tradicional torneo de verano con un nuevo ‘completo’ en la lista de inscritos. Todo un éxito, un año más, del que se ha convertido por tradición en el torneo estrella cada mes de agosto en la urbanización. Los jugadores recibieron a su llegada un fantástico ‘Welcome Pack’ de bienvenida con un polo técnico Adidas y varios obsequios de los colaboradores y patrocinadores del torneo. Tras una intensa, competitiva y reñida jornada golfística,

en un campo magnífico y que prácticamente está de reestreno como es Almenara Golf tras las modificaciones realizadas en los últimos meses y que presentó un notable estado de revista. En esta ocasión, la competición se disputó en los recorridos de Lagos y Pinos, como siempre, espectaculares para el golfista. Tras la partida, las instalaciones de la nueva ‘Casa Club’ en Almenara, dentro del complejo de SO/ Sotogrande, el nuevo hotel gran lujo del complejo, se celebró el posterior cóctel, entrega de premios y sorteo de regalos.En la parcela deportiva, los ganadores en los premios especiales fueron Garbiñe Mendizabal (Drive más largo en Damas), Nicolás Santos (Drive más largo en Caballeros) y Luis Vadillo, en la Bola más cercana. El triunfo en la

Categoría Damas fue para África García-Pitta, seguida de Lulu Pouroulis y Elisabeth Desmond. En Segunda Cat. Caballeros la victoria fue para Antonio Sánchez, seguido de Jaime Andreu y Alejandro Ramet. Mientras que en la Primera Cat. Caballeros, el trofeo se lo llevó Antonio J. Golf in Sotogrande is celebrating and for good reason, one of its major classic summer tournaments is celebrating no less than 20 years of taking place continuously. The El Periódico de Sotogrande Golf Open held its 20th edition at the magnificent and revamped course at Almenara Golf with “no vacancies” once again in the list of enrolled players. A real success once again this year for what has become, through tradition, the star tournament every August in the resort. Upon arrival, the players received a fantastic Welcome Pack with an Adidas training top and several gifts from the tournament collaborators and sponsors. After an intense, competitive and hard-fought day of golf, on a magnificent course

that is practically being unveiled again after the modifications made over recent months and it was in notably good condition. On this occasion, the competition took place at the Lagos and Pinos courses, as always, spectacular for golfers. After the round, the facilities of the new “Club House” in Almenara, within the SO/ Sotogrande complex, the new grand luxe hotel in the resort, hosted the subsequent cocktail, awards ceremony and prize draw. As for the sport, the winners of the special prizes were Garbiñe Mendizabal (Longest drive in women´s category), Nicolás Santos (Longest drive in men´s category) and Luis Vadillo, for the Closest Ball. Victory in the Women´s Category went to África García-Pitta, followed by
