Vamos llegando al fin de lo que se entiende por temporada alta de verano y el clásico periodo vacacional que sumerge a la inmensa mayoría en un agosto de familia, playa, disfrute y amigos. Hasta ahí, todo perfecto, para ello se establece y es un derecho y casi una obligación, de todos, disfrutarlo y vivirlo de una manera sana y amena. El problema recae, justamente, cuando ese manera de vivir o esas experiencias exceden de lo estrictamente permitido o al menos recomendable. En las páginas de esta edición de El Periódico de Sotogrande, por cierto una muy especial al alcanzar la icónica cifra de los 400 números (llevamos una creatividad muy bonita, no se la pierden), publicamos una información que si bien podría pasar ciertamente desapercibida para muchos, tampoco es la que cuenta con más especial, es al menos importante parar en ella y reflexionar. Las fuerzas de seguridad, las diferentes con competencias en la zona, han cifrado en una media de ocho llamadas diarias (entiéndase en localizaciones diferentes, en más de una las llamadas han sido reincidentes e insistentes); para advertir a las autoridades de la celebración de fiestas privadas, con alta asistencia de personas, sin ninguna medida de seguridad o botellones en sitios no indicados para ello (en su mayoría, casi todos). Hemos pasado, todos, por una etapa compleja como ha sido y es la de la pandemia, siendo los jóvenes precisamente, los más perjudicados al ver restringido y coartado ese impulso propio de la edad de salir, entrar, equivocarse, irse con amigos o incluso meter la pata. Algo que siempre ha ocurrido pero que en estos días, con un COVID-19 pululando, se convierte en peligrosos y dañino para su alrededor. Más conciencia y más calma, por complicado que parezca. ¿Pero qué ejemplo puede dar la clase dirigente si tampoco cumple con su encomienda? Seguimos con el paseo de Torreguadiaro a medio construir, con las pasarelas destruidas por un incendia de hace más de un año, con el desvío de la autovía aún en el aire y el paso elevado/subterráneo peatonal entre las vías de servicio, ni está ni se le espero. Mejor no hablar de grandes proyectos. Menos mal que el ámbito privado está cumpliendo y con creces su propósito en Sotogrande.

We are reaching the end of what is considered the peak summer season and the classic summer period that immerses the immense majority in an August of family, beach, enjoyment and friends. So far, everything perfect, that is what it is here for and it is a right and almost an obligation, of everyone, to enjoy it and experience it in a healthy and pleasant way. The problem lies precisely when that way of living or those experiences exceed what is strictly permitted or at the least recommended. In the pages of this edition of El Periódico de Sotogrande, which incidentally is a very special one as it reaches the iconic figure of 400 editions (we have got some very beautiful creativity, don´t miss it), we are publishing a story that while it could possibly go unnoticed by many, and nor is it the most special one, it is at least important to stop and reflect on. The security forces, the different ones with responsibilities in the area, have received an average of eight calls a day (in different locations, more than one of the calls have been repeated and insistent); to notify the authorities of the celebration of private parties, with a large number of people in attendance, with no safety measures or outdoor drinking sessions in places that are unsuitable for that (the majority, almost all). With the pandemic we have all been through and are going through a difficult period, and it is the young people who suffer most by seeing the drive to go out, go to bars, make mistakes, go with friends and even make blunders restricted and inhibited. This is something that has always happened but at present, with COVID-19 thriving, it becomes dangerous and harmful to those around them. More awareness and more calm, no matter how difficult it seems. However, what example can the ruling class provide if they also do not fulfil their duties? We continue with the Torreguadiaro promenade half-built, with the walkways destroyed by a fire more than a year ago, with the diversion of the motorway still up in the air and the over-ground/underground pedestrian crossing is neither there nor expected. It is better not to talk about big projects. At least the private sector is fulfilling its aim in Sotogrande and exceeding it.

Cuando se alcanza una cifra redonda, un dato significativo o un umbral que diferencia lo cotidiano de lo extraordinario, habitualmente, se hacen grandilocuentes argumentos y conmemorativos actos que engrandecen la gesta perdurable en el tiempo. Algo demasiado grande y algo demasiado ostentoso para nuestra manera de ver y disfrutar la vida en este rinconcito del sur, que algunos llaman Sotogrande y otros orillan cual paraíso. El periódico que ahora mismo se encuentra usted leyendo, no deja de ser eso, un periódico, nada más pero tampoco nada menos. Un vínculo y una íntima relación entre emisor y receptor, una conexión fabulosa entre uno que escribe y otro que lee. Pues mire, llevamos más de 23 años haciéndolo, quizás no todo lo bien que usted y este lugar merecen, pero tampoco lo suficientemente mal para haber caído en el olvido, desvanecido en nuestro propósito o claudicado en nuestro objetivo. Ha llovido mucho desde que en el año 1998 viese la luz el primer ejemplar de El Periódico de Sotogrande, el número 1 de la serie, el incunable. Afortunadamente, hoy usted está leyendo el 400. Muchas cosas han cambiado desde entonces pero esta cabecera y el compromiso de fidelidad, veracidad, información y garantía de calidad no ha mermado ni un ápice en la filosofía laboral de Grupo HCP, que es como se llama esta casa. Más tarde aparecería su hermana, La Revista de Sotogrande, más tarde POLO by La Bocha (y sus otros nombres a lo largo del tiempo), las primeras webs (Sotograndedigital.com); publicaciones turísticas, deportivas, especiales políticos, de FITUR y muchísimas cosas más que han nacido entre estas paredes. Por cumplir, este año hasta alcanzamos las 20 ediciones en el Abierto de Golf El Periódico de Sotogrande y ya sumamos ocho temporadas en el Circuito de Golf Sotogrande. Todo ello con esfuerzo y el trabajo que conllevan tantos proyectos, pero con la satisfacción y orgullo de vernos respaldados por nuestros lectores, seguidores y por supuesto, empresas y firmas colaboradoras y patrocinadoras a las que especialmente les doy las gracias. Nunca se moleste al cruzarse un anuncio mientras lea un artículo, gracias a él, lo está leyendo pues es el sustento que permite llegar a todos los hogares de Sotogrande, de manera gratuita, con reparto en mano y en español e inglés. Gracias a todos. Por el camino, en estas 400 ediciones, por supuesto que hemos tenido que salvar obstáculos, trampas y tramposos. De todo hay y no siempre uno se alegra del bien ajeno. Pero aquí estamos y seguiremos, con la misma ilusión, ganas, empuje y motivación para afrontar las próximas 400 ediciones y contarle todo lo que ocurre en Sotogrande y a la vez, gracias a nuevas tecnologías, explicarle al mundo cómo y qué es Sotogrande. 400 millones de gracias. When you reach a round figure, a significant date or a threshold that separates the ordinary from the extraordinary, normally, grandiose speeches and commemorative events are held that make the feat last over time. Something that is too big and too ostentatious for our way of seeing and enjoying life in this little part of the south, that some call Sotogrande and others say comes close to paradise. The newspaper you are reading right now, is merely that, nothing more but nothing less. A link and an intimate bond between the issuer and the recipient, a fabulous connection between the person writing and the other reading. Look, we have spent more than 23 years doing it, perhaps not all as well as you and this place deserve, but nor sufficiently badly to have been forgotten about, vanished from our purpose or surrendered to our aim. A lot has happened since 1998 when the first issue of El Periódico de Sotogrande, number 1 in the series, the incunabula, was published. Fortunately, you are now reading the 400th issue. Many things have changed since then but this publication and the commitment to loyalty, truth, information and the guarantee of quality has not diminished at all in the working philosophy of Grupo HCP, which is the name of this publisher. Later, its sister publication would appear, Sotogrande Magazine, and later POLO by La Bocha (and its other names over time), the first websites (Sotograndedigital. com); tourism and sporting publications, specials on politics, FITUR and many more things that have emerged from between these walls. As for anniversaries, this year we will reach the 20th edition of the El Periódico de Sotogrande Golf Open and we are now into the eighth season of the Sotogrande Golf Circuit. All with the effort and work that so many projects entail, but with the satisfaction and pride of seeing ourselves backed by our readers, followers and of course, companies and collaborating brands and sponsors who I wish to thank especially. Never get annoyed when you come across an advertisement when reading an article, thanks to it, you are reading as it is the foundation that enables us to reach all the homes in Sotogrande, for free, with hand delivery, and in Spanish and English. Thanks to everyone. Along the way, in these 400 editions, we have of course had to overcome obstacles, pitfalls and cheats. There are all sorts out there and people are not always happy about others’ well-being. However, we are here and will remain, with the same enthusiasm, desire, drive and motivation to tackle the next 400 editions and tell you about everything happening in Sotogrande and in turn, thanks to new technologies, explain to the world what Sotogrande and what it is like. 400 million thanks. El mercadillo nocturno de Sotogrande: una tradición del verano Conocer, descubrir y vivir un verano pleno en Sotogrande, no se entiende sin pasear por su marina en una tarde de compras por el mercadillo de la urbanización. Un mercadillo nada convencional y al uso, todo lo contrario, en el que encontrar todo tipo de prendas y propuestas de primer nivel, en un enclave único y con las mejores vistas del sur de Europa. Una cita que nadie se puede perder y que toma lugar todos los miércoles y jueves del

Luz y chivo expiatorio Los ciudadanos están desesperados ante el encarecimiento de la energía, y el Gobierno está desesperado buscando algún chivo expiatorio. La ministra María Jesús Montero llegó a declarar: “la culpa del precio desorbitado de la luz es del PP”. Es realidad, todos los gobiernos, utilizando la factura energética para pagar “peajes”, o costes y subsidios diversos, y para recaudar impuestos, han logrado que el precio de la energía sea en realidad la tercera parte de lo que pagamos en el recibo de la luz. Se espera que ese recibo se mantenga elevado durante 2021. Por lo tanto, el Gobierno seguirá apelando a chivos expiatorios, singularmente las empresas eléctricas, como si no hubiera intervencionismo político y legislativo en la energía. Hay varias medidas que se podrían adoptar. La más sencilla es cambiar la tarifa, eliminando la llamada “tarifa regulada”, que refleja los precios diarios del mercado, y reemplazándola por una cesta de precios futuros calculada, por ejemplo, en promedios trimestrales, como se

hace en otros países. Esto moderaría las fluctuaciones más abruptas, pero no abarataría la luz. Algo más difícil, pero no imposible, es lo que proponen desde la derecha, que consiste en sacar del recibo parte de lo que no sea el coste energético y pasarlo al Presupuesto, con lo cual la gente pagaría menos por la luz pero más en impuestos, salvo que bajara el gasto público, lo que no es probable.

Si dicho gasto disminuyera, entonces sí que podría abaratarse la luz, y más si se combinara con una rebaja o supresión permanente de los impuestos sobre la energía y una flexibilización para cambiar el llamado “mix energético” sin castigar la energía nuclear. Sin embargo, lo más probable es que las autoridades sigan buscando chivos expiatorios mientras procuran ocultarnos el resultado

de su intervencionismo en el recibo de la luz. Solo nos quedará lamentar que, además de la factura, aumente la deuda pública, y consolarnos si no cometen disparates mayúsculos como crear una empresa estatal de electricidad —conocemos bien en España, y sobre todo en Andalucía, el coste que los ciudadanos terminamos pagando por esas imaginativas soluciones.

Electricity and a scapegoat Citizens are despairing at the rising cost of energy, and the Government is despairing in its search for a scapegoat. It is a reality, all governments, using the energy bill to pay for “tolls”, or costs and different subsidies, and to collect taxes, have achieved making the price of energy a third of what we pay for in the electricity bill. It is expected that the bill will remain high during 2021. Therefore,

the Government will continue to seek out scapegoats, notably electricity companies as if there was no political and legislative interventionism in energy. There are several measures that could be adopted. The easiest is to change the fare, eliminating the so-called “regulated fare”, which reflects daily market prices, and replace it with a basket of future calculated prices, for example, in quarterly averages, as is the case in other countries. This would moderate the most abrupt fluctuations, but wouldn´t reduce the price of

electricity. Something that is more difficult, but not impossible, is what the right is proposing, which consists of taking out of the bill part of what is not the energy cost and putting it into the Budget, therefore people would pay less for electricity but more for taxes, unless public spending falls, which is not likely. If this spending falls, then electricity could become cheaper, and more so if combined with a reduction of permanent elimination of taxes on energy and flexibilisation to change the so-called “energy mix” without

harming nuclear energy. However, the most likely thing is that authorities will continue to look for scapegoats while they seek to hide the result of their interventionism on the electricity bill. The only possible further regret is that, in addition to the bill, public debt increases too, and we can console ourselves if they don´t commit greater acts of stupidity such as creating a state electricity company -in Spain, and especially in Andalusia, we are well-aware of the costs that citizens end up paying for those imaginative solutions.

El incendio de un velero en el Puerto de Sotogrande deja

NO TE PIERDAS EL VÍDEO Y TODAS LAS IMÁGENES

un herido grave • Los bomberos tienen que hundir la embarcación en la zona de la torre de control para sofocar el fuego. • El incidente deja un afectado, de nacionalidad extranjera, con importantes quemaduras. Un velero de unos 18 metros de eslora tuvo que ser finalmente hundido en el Puerto Sotogrande por efectivos del Consorcio Provincial de Bomberos para apagar las llamas en el mismo, que se iniciaron a primera hora de la tarde del miércoles, 25 de agosto. El incendio provocó importantes heridas por quemadura, en una gran proporción de su cuerpo, a un hombre de nacionalidad extranjera. Además de Bomberos, en el operativo participaron unidades de la Policía Local de San Roque, Guardia Civil, Salvamento Marítimo, Cruz Roja y Emergencias Sanitarias, que movilizó un helicóptero y una UVI móvil para atender al herido. El alcalde accidental y

teniente de alcalde delegado de Seguridad Ciudadana, Juan Manuel Ordóñez, ha estado informado de los hechos en todo momento. Según detalla el propio consorcio provincial de bomberos, de los tres ocupantes de la embarcación, uno de ellos sufrió quemaduras por encima del 80% de su cuerpo. Además, durante las labores de extinción se produjeron hasta cinco explosiones. La torre de control de Puerto Sotogrande alertó a las 12.55 horas del incendio en el velero, atracado en sus instalaciones. Mientras el resto de los cuerpos de seguridad implicados controlaban el acceso a la zona del suceso, efectivos de Bomberos se emplearon a

fondo para apagar las llamas. Como, por causas aún por determinar, el fuego parecía no ceder, se tomó la decisión de incrementar el volumen de agua empleado para conseguir el hundimiento de la embarcación, controlando también en todo momento que no se expandieran líquidos que pudieran ser inflamables. Durante toda la jornada el puerto deportivo permaneció cerrado por razones de seguridad, especialmente al producirse todo el incidente en la zona de la torre de control y con una cierta alarma entre la comunidad náutica por la fuerte humareda y la propia inquietud del siniestro. Hasta el momento, poco se sabe de las causas que motivaron el fuego.

Fire on yacht in Sotogrande Port leaves one person seriously injured • Firefighters have to sink vessel in the area of the control tower to put out the fire. • Incident leaves one person of foreign nationality affected with serious burns. An 18-metre-long yacht had to ultimately be sunk in Sotogrande Port by members of the Provincial Firefighters Consortium in order to extinguish the flames, which began in the early hours of the afternoon of Wednesday 25 August. The fire caused significant burn injuries, to a large proportion of the body of a man of foreign nationality. In addition to Firefighters, the operation involved units from the Local Police in San Roque, the Civil Guard, Maritime Rescue, the Red Cross and Medical Emergencies, which mobilised a helicopter and a mobile ICU vehicle to assist the injured person. The interim mayor and delegate for Civic Security, Juan Manuel Ordóñez, has been reporting the events at all times.

According to the provincial firefighting consortium, of the three occupants on the vessel, one of them suffered burns to over 80% of their body. Also, during the extinguishing work there were five explosions. At 12:55 the Sotogrande Port control tower reported the fire on the yacht, moored in its facilities. Meanwhile, the other security forces involved controlled access to the scene of the event, Firefighters made every effort to extinguish the flames. As, due to causes yet to be determined, the fire seemed to not diminish, a decision was taken to increase the volume of water used to sink the vessel, also controlling at all times that liquids that could be flammable would not spread.

During the entire day the marina remained closed for safety reasons, especially as the entire incident took place in the

area of the control tower and with a certain alarm among the entire sailing community due to the

thick cloud of smoke and the concern over the accident. Thus far, little is known about the causes of the fire.

Este mes de septiembre comienza el nuevo curso académico y con él vuelven los programas deportivos en el Racquet Centre de La Reserva Club. El trimestre de otoño-invierno arranca el 6 de septiembre con una amplia gama de clases para niños y adultos. Estas incluyen el programa Mini Racquets para niños a partir de 4 años, Junior Racquets para niños a partir de 8 años y Pro Racquets para niños a partir de 10 años. En todas las categorías se puede elegir entre tenis y pádel, hay un máximo de 4 niños por pista, y se pueden seleccionar las horas que se dedican a la semana y la duración de las clases para las categorías más jóvenes. Para fomentar el desarrollo de los jugadores de la academia, el último domingo de cada mes durante el periodo lectivo se celebra el Torneo Academy Circuit de tenis. Durante estos eventos, se invita a los jóvenes a participar y a mejorar sus habilidades de juego, lo que supone una parte esencial de su formación y es una manera estupenda de poner en práctica lo que

están aprendiendo. El primer torneo tras el descanso veraniego tendrá lugar el 26 de septiembre y la inscripción será de 20 euros para los visitantes y de 15 euros para los jugadores de la academia. Durante el torneo también habrá un Mix-In de pádel para que los adultos disfruten mientras los niños compiten. ¡Pero no solo hay actividades para niños! También hay cursos para adultos, tanto de tenis como de pádel, y se puede elegir entre clases de una hora o de hora y media. Por último, pero no por ello menos importante, también hay un programa Racquets Fitness para desarrollar la fuerza, la forma física y la agilidad de los jugadores de tenis y pádel. Formar parte de la academia de tenis y pádel de La Reserva Club también permite disfrutar de descuentos en el bar, tarifas especiales para los torneos del Academy Circuit y precios especiales para alquiler de pistas durante el fin de semana. anudan los populares Mix-In de tenis y pádel para la nueva temporada de otoño-invierno. Se trata de una forma sociable y divertida de practicar, mantenerse activo y también de recibir consejos y trucos del equipo del club para ganar a tu contrincante. Los miércoles de 9:30 a 11:30 tienen lugar los Padel Coffee Mornings. Incluyen un Mix-In de pádel y un café con cruasán con los demás jugadores en el bar del Racquet Centre. Participar cuesta 10 euros, con desayuno incluido. Los sábados por la mañana, de 10 a 12, podrá unirse al Saturday Padel Mix-in por 10 euros, o quedarse después del partido y disfrutar de una bebida y un aperitivo por 15 euros. A partir del 10 de septiembre, habrá más actividades los viernes. Andalucía es la tercera región que más sube el precio del alquiler frente al año pasado: un 3,83% Noticias prometedoras y positivas para el sector inmobiliario. El piso tipo de alquiler en Andalucía registró en julio de 2021 un precio medio de 7,05 euros por metro cuadrado, lo que supuso una variación mensual del -0,80%, el recorte más leve de España. Respecto a julio de 2020, creció

un 3,83%, la tercera mayor subida del país, según el último informe del portal especializado Pisos. Andalucía estuvo a la misma distancia de la región más cara, Madrid (12,38 €/m²), que de la más barata, Castilla y León (4,63 €/m²). Por su parte, el piso tipo

de alquiler en España tuvo en julio de 2021 una subida mensual del 0,42%. En la comparativa interanual, cayó un -1,48%. Respecto a las provincias andaluzas, Córdoba (3,01%) arrojó el séptimo repunte mensual más importante del país. Por su parte, Huelva (-2,99%) ocupó el no-

veno lugar en la lista de descensos nacionales. De un año a otro, Almería (10%) registró la sexta mayor subida de España, y Huelva (-9,61%) fue la séptima que más cayó de España. En cuanto a las capitales andaluzas, Huelva (2,33%) fue la décima capital española que más

Cuestión de límites Aunque en muchas situaciones de la vida es importante ser flexibles, adaptarse y ayudar a los demás, es importante entender que esa flexibilidad no debe quebrarnos por no saber decir un “No” a tiempo. El uso más constructivo de la palabra “No” es que nos permite poner límites. Algunas razones por la que no somos capaces de expresar lo que de verdad queremos, poniendo las necesidades de los demás por encima de las nuestras, suelen ser sentimientos de culpa, pena o tristeza por las circunstancias del otro “no puedo negarme porque pensara que soy mala amiga”, “tengo que quedarme con sus hijos porque no tiene pareja” y, también, el miedo al rechazo. Aquí juegan un papel muy importante nuestras creencias, a las que dedicaremos un capítulo más adelante. Puede costar decir “No” cuando creemos que al negarnos a hacer algo estamos siendo malas personas: “si no le hago el favor, soy mala amiga” De hecho, ser capaces de expresar nuestras necesidades es la mejor manera de tener buenas relaciones, al mediar el respeto entre ambas partes. Y nos permite tener una relación sana con nosotros mismos, ya que, saber comunicar nuestros límites de forma asertiva, hace que aumente el respeto por nosotros mismos manteniendo sana la autoestima. Esto también incluye a la tecnología, la esclavitud de tener que ser los primeros en comentar, contestar o devolver una llamada para cumplir expectativas ajenas, cuando sientas la necesidad de contestar “al momento” plantéate: ¿Qué está siendo lo más importante aquí? Para aprender a poner límites, primero, debemos hacer un ejercicio de autoconocimiento: ser conscientes de lo que queremos y necesitamos en cada momento. No podremos poner límites a los

demás si no sabemos donde están los nuestros propios. Segundo, comunicarlos de forma asertiva, logrando que los demás nos respeten a la vez que les respetamos a ellos. Empieza por eliminar toda carga emocional y acusaciones de tu comunicación: • Parte de la empatía: “entiendo lo que me dices, pero …” • Establece tu prioridad: “ahora mismo no es un buen momento ... • Ofrece un aplazamiento: “podemos dejarlo para más adelante ...” • Repite: “cómo ya te he dicho... • Busca siempre un acuerdo con posibles bene-

ficios para ambos. Si aún así, la otra persona no es comprensiva y muestra actitud conflictiva, es muy importante que te reafirmes en tu postura. Quizás puedan ayudarte frases cómo: “Aprecio tu preocupación ...”, “Gracias por tu sugerencia, pero mi decisión es... “Prefiero no saber, gracias” Poner límites es una cuestión de establecer prioridades, la próxima vez que te sientas culpable por no estar de acuerdo, cancelar planes cuando no te vienen bien o simplemente decidir hacer lo que crees que es mejor para ti, pregúntate: ¿A quién estás priorizando?

The most constructive use of the word “No” is that it enables us to establish boundaries. Some reasons why we are unable to express what we really want, putting the needs of others above our own, are normally feelings of guilt, pity or sadness for the circumstances of the other, “I can´t refuse because they would think that I´m a bad friend”, “I have to stay with their kids because they don´t have a partner” and also, the fear of rejection. Here, our beliefs play a very important role, and we will devote a chapter later on to them. It may be difficult to say “No” when we believe that by refusing to do something we are being bad people: “If I don´t do the favour, I am a bad friend” In fact, being able to express our needs is the best way to have good relationships, as there is res-

pect between both parties. And it enables us to have a healthy relationship with ourselves, as, being able to communicate our boundaries assertively, leads to increased respect for ourselves, while maintaining a healthy level self-esteem. This also includes technology, the slavery of having to be the first to comment, answer or return a call to meet the expectations of others, when you feel the need to answer “instantly”, consider: What is most important here? In order to learn to establish boundaries, first, we need to carry out an exercise of self-knowledge: be aware of what we want and need at any time. We can´t put boundaries on others if we don´t know where our own are. Secondly, communicate them assertively, enabling others to respect us when also respecting them. Begin by eliminating any emotional burden and accusations from your communication: • Part of empathy: “I understand what you are

saying, but...” • Establish your priority: “right now isn´t a good time... • Offer a postponement: “we can leave it for later on...” • Repeat: “as I have already said... • Always seek an agreement with possible benefits for both. If, even so, the other person isn´t understanding and displays a conflictive attitude, it is very important to reaffirm your stance. You may be helped by phrases such as: “I appreciate your concern...”, “Thanks for your suggestion, but my decision is... “I prefer not to know, thanks” Establishing boundaries is a matter of establishing priorities, the next time you feel guilty for not agreeing, cancelling plans when they don´t suit your or simply deciding to do what you believe is best for you, ask yourself: Who are you prioritising?

Sensación de dejadez y abandono, en Torreguadiaro Pocos puntos negros se le puede poner a este verano en el entorno pero continúan varios problemas cíclicos dando problemas en el Valle del Guadiaro, especialmente en la zona de Torreguadiaro. En primer lugar, este emblemático edificio del bulevar continúa en un estado muy deteriorado con una sensación total de dejadez y abandono. Varios han sido los intentos por poner una mejor versión del mismo, incluso con iniciativas privadas, pero lo cierto es que continúa igual y además siendo un punto de inseguridad en el Torreguadiaro, por alarma de un posible desprendimiento de alguna parte del mismo. A modo de ejemplo, cada noche del mes de agosto se están recibiendo más de ocho llamadas por botellonas o fiestas privadas, a lo que hay que unir el resto de las actuaciones habituales en este periodo estival. Según informó la Delegación de Seguridad Ciudadana, que dirige el alcalde accidental Juan Manuel Ordóñez, las llamadas informando de concentraciones de jóvenes en la

También se ha detenido al presunto autor de una tentativa de robo de vehículo a motor, así como al presunto pirómano de La Línea, en una actuación conjunta con la Guardia Civil. También hubo un detenido por búsqueda e ingreso en prisión, se ha recuperado un vehículo robado y se han abierto diligencias debidas a la intervención en reyertas.

Antonia Peña, un homenaje más que merecido Sus compañeros de la oficina de Correos de Guadiaro quisieron tener un reconocimiento por su jubilación, para reconocer su larga trayectoria profesional en la que ha dejado una notable huella a nivel laboral y especialmente personal. Los compañeros de Correos de Guadiaro quisieron tener un gesto y felicitar a Antonia Peña Guerrero por sus más de cuarenta años de trabajo en el centro. El homenaje se llevó a cabo hace unos días, justo al terminar su último turno que supuso el punto y final a una gran trayectoria profesional. Una veintena de compañeros le ofrecieron una emotiva despedida a las puertas de la oficina de Correos. Durante varios minutos, la homenajeada fue ovacionada por todos sus compañero que quisieron entregarle un ramo de

flores entre otros regalos y obsequios. La Copa de Plata es el segundo título en relevancia de esta competición, una de las más importantes del universo polista y que atrae hasta Sotogrande a algunos de los mejores jugadores del mundo. Do you begin a conversation assertively when you feel guilty and embarrassed? Do you really know what to say to another person what you don´t like about their behaviour without being reproachful or offending? Are you able to able to distinguish between the responsibility for something that happened and that for what will happen in the future? Ultimately, are you able to communicate emotionally difficult matters without things intensifying and getting worse? Through mediation processes, opposing parties have the chance to reflect on these types of issues and work to improve their relationship. The tendency to blame the other before assuming your own responsibility, is very common but that doesn´t make it acceptable or constructive. To a greater or lesser extent, that initial drive to deny your own responsibility instead of rushing to accept it, learning from the mistake and adapting to circumstances, causes a lot of personal conflicts. Ultimately, this is something that can be changed through a mediation process. Doing it substantially improves our wellbeing and the quality of our relationships. Some keys to putting it into practice are as follows: 1. Say what you feel without blaming Expressing feelings can be uncomfortable if you don´t know your own emotions and confuse them with behaviour, that is to say, if you confuse what someone did with the feeling that it caused you. These are two different things, but we sometimes identify one with the other. Someone does something for their own reasons and we experience it as if they had done it to us. What makes us happy or hurts us, hurts us, it isn´t the responsibility of the other person. What the other person does, regardless of whether it seems good, bad, fair or unfair, forms part of their process and motives, not ours. 2.Use difficulties to help you How often have you avoided a necessary conversation because it seemed uncomfortable to you? In reality, difficulty is something you can use for your benefit, it is a chance to feel able, transcend towards a new perspective of the problem and find new solutions. 3. Be responsible for your part Conflict is any rift between what we want and what we are experiencing. This rift causes emotional wear, which is uncomfortable, but it can be expressed in a healthy way. Even if you aren´t responsible for what others do, you are for what you want and how you respond. 4. La Escuela Oficial de Música San José ha recibido recientemente la acreditación internacional de Trinity College London para una de sus alumnas más brillantes, Antonina Jarczyn, que ha superado de forma notable las pruebas de Grado 6 de piano. Cerca de un centenar de alumnos conforma la comunidad educativa de este centro, el primero en Estepona autorizado por la Consejería de Educación de la Junta de Andalucía para impartir Enseñanzas de Iniciación, Básicas y Profesionales de Música en dieciocho especialidades sinfónicas impartidas por un equipo docente formado por licenciados superiores: arpa, canto, clarinete, contrabajo, fagot, flauta travesera, guitarra, oboe, percusión, piano, saxofón, saxo, trombón, trompa, trompeta, tuba, viola, violín y violonchelo. LA ESTIMULACIÓN COGNITIVA COGNITIVE STIMULATION

El lenguaje Según la RAE, el lenguaje es la capacidad propia del ser humano para expresar pensamientos y sentimientos por medio de la palabra, refiriéndose a nuestro lenguaje verbal como instrumento para la comunicación. Dicho esto, añadiremos que la expresión corporal es igualmente una forma de transmitir y recibir información. Se estima que transmite más del 60% de lo que realmente queremos comunicar. Incluso el silencio, recogiendo nuestro refranero, revela nuestro pensamiento, “ el que calla, otorga”. Somos seres sociales, y como tales, tenemos la necesidad desde que nacemos y de forma instintiva, de comunicarnos. El lenguaje nos acerca a la cultura y a la información, constituye una de las funciones cognitivas superiores que nos diferencian de otras especies, tanto por su complejidad, como por su estrecha relación con el pensamiento.. La expresión, comprensión oral y corporal, la lectura y la escritura comprenden los procesos que participan en las funciones del lenguaje. Muchas personas tienen una facilidad y agilidad cognitiva para expresarse y hacerse entender que roza la perfección. A la par, observamos que con el paso del tiempo, y aun utilizando el lenguaje continuamente, perdemos palabras y expresiones por falta de uso… “lo tengo en la punta de la lengua…” Leer es el principal recurso para mejorar el lenguaje y la expresión. Formando imágenes mentales que nos ayudan a “fijar” por asociación palabras, giros y expresiones, se estimulan las conexiones sinápticas. Si al leer lo hacemos en voz alta, también contribuimos a desarrollar nuestros dos hemisferios cerebrales, reorganizando estructuras neuronales. Esto último es especialmente relevante en la poesía un

Otro ejercicio efectivo es escoger al azar palabras del diccionario buscando su significado, sus acepciones, sinónimos y antónimos… Si se seleccionan específicamente, se incide en la determinación, de la cual, como función cognitiva superior ejecutiva, hablaremos más adelante. En cuanto a la escritura, las prácticas que proponemos serían escribir cartas a la antigua usanza; llevar un diario; reescribir mensajes recibidos por vías digitales o telemáticas; resumir con nuestras palabras las principales ideas de un artículo; contrastar faltas de ortografía… En lo que atañe al lenguaje no verbal, nuestras gesticulaciones, la forma de caminar, de sentarse, de mirar, de coger las cosas, reir, sonreir, y tantas otras, no son sino formas de lenguaje corporal. Como ejercicio proponemos la observación para empatizar, el baile… Otro lenguaje no verbal es el simbólico. ¿Qué quiere transmitir un pintor, un escultor, o un fotógrafo?, ¿Qué sabemos de iconografía?...¿Qué expresa la arquitectura?

If, when we read, we do so aloud, we also contribute to developing our two cerebral hemispheres, by reorganising neuronal structures. The latter is especially significant in poetry which is somewhat forgotten about. Another effective exercise is to randomly choose words from the dictionary, looking up their meaning, their different meanings, synonyms and antonyms... If they are selected specifically, there is an effect on determination, about which, as an executive higher cognitive function, we will talk about later. With regard to writing, the practises we propose would be writing old-fashioned letters; keeping a diary; re-writing messages received digitally or electronically; summarising in your own words the main ideas of an article; checking spelling mistakes... With regard to non-verbal language, our gestures, way of walking, sitting down, looking, taking things, laughing, smiling, and so many others, are simply forms of body language. As an exercise we suggest observation in order to empathise, dance... Another non-verbal language is the symbolic kind... What does a painter, sculptor or photographer want to convey? What do we know about iconography?... What does architecture express?

El paddle surf triunfa en Torreguadiaro • Gran éxito de convocatoria del curso de iniciación a esta extendida práctica deportiva celebrada en la playa de Torreguadiaro.

Decenas de interesados no quisieron perderse el curso de iniciación al paddle surf, uno de los deportes acuáticos que

cada vez está teniendo más adeptos en los últimos años. Esta “clase maestra”, que se desarrolló en la playa de To-

rreguadiaro organizada con la colaboración del Club Deportivo Paddle Surf de Algeciras y la plataforma Water World Shop El curso, de carácter teórico y práctico, abarcó toda la mañana, desde las 10.00 hasta las 15.00 horas, para poder distribuir a los alumnos en grupos reducidos, lo que no sólo permitió gestionar mejor las explicaciones del personal del club de paddle surf, sino también garantizar la distancia entre no convivientes para cumplir con las medidas anticovid. Como requisitos, Silvano reconoció que “sólo hay que ponerle ganas, tener una tabla y una buena playa, como en este caso lo es la de Torreguadiaro. Por tanto -continuóinvito a que los interesados se animen a la práctica del deporte del paddle surf, ya que tenemos un entorno estupendo, con calas y playas espectaculares en el Campo de Gibraltar para realizarlo”.

Reconoció también que el paddle surf es idóneo para desconectar, es divertido, y además es un deporte físico con los beneficios que ello reporta. Durante el curso, se trataban nociones como corrección de posición, consejos, técnica en la remada y salvamento en agua, entre otras cuestiones. Los alumnos participantes recibieron camisetas y merchandising, además de un diploma acreditativo al finalizar el curso. Para la realización del mismo se contó con monitores titulados por la Federación Española de Surf.

Lots of interested people didn´t want to miss out on the paddle surf beginner´s course, one of the water sports that is gaining most enthusiasts in recent years. This “masterclass” that took place on Torreguadiaro beach

was organised with the collaboration of the Paddle Surf Sports Club of Algeciras and the Water World Shop platform. The course, theoretical and practical, took up the whole morning, from

10:00 until 15:00, with the pupils distributed into small groups, which not only made it possible to better manage the explanations from staff at the paddle surf club, but also helped to guarantee social distancing among different households to comply with anti-Covid measures. The president of the Paddle Surf Sports Club of Algeciras, Jorge Silvano, explained that the course consisted of an open day with more than fifty people involved. He stated that “the club has been offering this intro-

duction to this sport that is so fashionable in several areas of the province, such as Algeciras, La Línea, Palmones and San Roque”. As requirements, Silvano acknowledged that “you simply need to bring enthusiasm, have a board and a good beach, such as the one in Torreguadiaro in this case. Therefore, I invite those who are interested to do try out the sport of paddle surf, as we have a fantastic environment, with spectacular coves and beaches in Campo de Gibraltar for doing it”.

He also acknowledged that paddle surfing is ideal for disconnecting, it is fun, and it is also a physical sport with the benefits that entails. During the year, basics were addressed such as the correct position, advance, paddling technique and water lifesaving, among other matters. The participating pupils receives t-shirts and merchandise, as well as a diploma accrediting it at the end of the year. Instructors trained by the Spanish Surf Federation were used for the course.

Complicada tarea la de buscar adjetivos para transmitir el estado en el que se presenta el Old Course, tras la renovación integral llevada acabo el pasado año. Brillante y espectacular tercera prueba del calendario regular del VIII Circuito de Golf Sotogrande, celebrada en las rehabilitadas instalaciones de San Roque Club que parece que estrena campo y casa club. El extraordinario y remozado Old Course de San Roque Club acogió con gran éxito la tercera parada del calendario de pruebas del VIII Circuito de Golf Sotogrande. Casi un centenar de jugadores disfrutaron de una brillante jornada deportiva y social. golf (hasta el calor y sol dio un poco de tregua para hacer más agradable la ronda), con calles y greenes impecables y listos para la competición de primer nivel. The extraordinary and revamped Old Course at San Roque Club successfully hosted the third stop of the events schedule of the VIII Sotogrande Golf Circuit. Almost one hundred players enjoyed a brilliant day of sport and socialising.

Simply spectacular. It is a difficult task looking for adjectives to convey the condition of the Old Course, after the complete renovation carried out last year. Brilliant and spectacular third event on the regular calendar of the VIII Sotogrande Golf Circuit, held at the revamped facilities of San Roque Club which is unveiling a new course and club house. Almost one hundred players didn´t want to miss one of the obligatory stops each year on the circuit. With a course in extraordinary condition, golfers enjoyed a fantastic day of golf (even the heat and sun eased up a little to make the round more pleasant), with impeccable

fairways and greens, ready for top-level competition. After the shotgun start, with each player receiving a gift from the hosts, the participants took on the great challenge that tackling the Old Course always poses. After the round, it was time for the cocktail, prize draw and awards ceremony. The winners of the special prizes were: Juan Manuel Pérez Jurado (Closest Ball), Javier Martínez (Men´s Longest Drive) and Celia Nebot (Women´s Longest Drive).
