Feeling pride

Estas líneas, especialmente las editoriales de un medio de comunicación, van normalmente destinadas a imprimir críticas, en su mayoría de perfil constructivas, con la intención de poner el foco y el acento, nunca mejor dicho, en acontecimientos o situaciones a mejorar. Poner y centrar el tiro en servicios o infraestructuras que necesitan mejoras, reclamar inversiones, descubrir hechos impúdicos o incluso, denunciar alguna que otra tropelía. Pero en ocasiones es gratificante y hasta necesario dejar a un lado todos esos aspectos “negativos”, que no lo son tal, al contrario son cuestiones a mejorar precisamente; para dar la atención y el protagonismo que merecen asuntos importantes en el buen sentido de la palabra. En esta edición de El Periódico de Sotogrande, de una manera más singular, publicamos varias historias de las que sentirse especialmente orgullosos. Por un lado, la reunión y el encuentro que tuvimos con un destacado grupo de inmobiliarios y agentes del sector, verdaderos diagnosticadores de la urbanización ya que ven, viven y escuchan día a día las demandas y sugerencias de sus clientes y posibles inversores en el resort. Todo un lujo sacar temas para el próximo foro empresarial. Del mismo modo que podemos presumir y mucho del fantástico Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucía Masters que vivimos intensamente en el Real Club Valderrama hace tan sólo unas semanas. Más de 35.000 visitantes desfilaron a lo largo del torneo por el emblemático campo; no existe una mejor publicidad que la de un público agradecido y emocionado con el deporte. Y hablando de golf, nuestro repaso al Golf Adaptado en el Club de Golf Municipal La Cañada hace sentirnos especialmente orgullosos. Por la actividad en sí, por las personas que participan, por profesores que dedican su tiempo y por contar en el Valle del Guadiaro por entidades públicas y privadas que apuestan por estos hechos que marcan la diferencia. También aprovechamos la ocasión para felicitar a los amigos del Restaurante Bar Cuenca por su Medalla de Oro de Horeca por 100 años de gran servicio y trabajo en el negocio familiar. Y es que en Sotogrande, en el Valle del Guadiaro y en todo el Campo de Gibraltar hay motivos de sobra para sentirse orgullosos. No sólo lo negativo que sale en los medios nacionales.

These lines, especially editorials in a media outlet, are normally used to printing critiques, mostly constructive, with the aim of putting focus and the emphasis on events or situations to improve. Aiming at and focussing on services and infrastructures that need improvements, calling for investments, uncovering indecent actions and even denouncing the occasional outrage. However, sometimes it is gratifying and even necessary to set aside all those “negative” aspects, which aren´t as such, on the contrary they are matters to improve; in order to give attention and the starring role they deserve to issues that are important in the good sense of the word. In this edition of El Periódico de Sotogrande, in a more unique way, we are publishing several stories to feel especially proud of. On one hand, the meeting and gathering we held with an outstanding group of property developers and agents from the sector, people who can truly provide a diagnosis of the resort as each day they see, live and hear the demands and suggestions of their clients and possible investors in the resort. It was a real luxury to look at issues for the upcoming business forum. Likewise, we can boast, and a lot, about the fantastic Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucía Masters which we intensely enjoyed at Real Club Valderrama just a few weeks ago. More than 35,000 visitors passed through the tournament at the emblematic course; there is no better advertising than a crowd that is grateful and excited about sport. And speaking of golf, our overview of Adapted Golf at La Cañada Municipal Golf Club makes us feel especially proud. About the activity itself, the people who take part in it, the teachers who devote their time, and the fact that Valle del Guadiaro has public and private entities that commit to these things that make a difference. We also want to take the chance to congratulate the friends of Restaurante Bar Cuenca for their Gold Medal in HORECA for 100 years of great service and work in the family business. The fact is that in Sotogrande, in Valle del Guadiaro and in all of Campo de Gibraltar there are lots of reasons to feel proud. There aren´t just the negative things that come out in national media.

Todos sabemos qué es Sotogrande, cómo se mueve, cómo se comporta e incluso cómo actúa cuando más y mejor se espera de él, como destino idílico a nivel residencial y turístico. Estamos más que acostumbrados e incluso algunos nos dedicamos a ellos, a expandir, difundir y promocionar el enclave tan privilegiado en el que vivimos y que casi de manera sistemática ocupa todas las miradas entre la Semana Santa y los meses más potentes de la temporada alta estival. Así es. Pero el recorrido es mucho más amplio y las oportunidades y posibilidades por explotar y rehacer son enormes. Precisamente en esa tarea estamos muchos de los principales activos (a nivel empresarial e institucional), que tratamos de elevar el nivel y subir la calidad del destino Sotogrande más allá de esa barrera. Cada uno en su punto de la balanza para que el columpio no cese en su movimiento, que no es otro que el de la generación de actividad y por tanto desarrollo económico y generación de empleo. Me consta los optimistas planes que hay en la vertiente del polo, con la colaboración de los diferentes clubes locales, por extender y plantear una temporada de muchísimo nivel entre los meses de mayo y septiembre del próximo curso, con la antesala navideña que siempre presenta el amigo Pelayo Berazadi. Del golf, poco más se puede decir. Nuevamente enhorabuena al Real Club Valderrama por en inmenso regalo que cada otoño nos hace en forma de torneo de golf y que viste y hace brillar a toda la urbanización de una manera inigualable. El crecimiento del Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucía Masters como gran torneo del European Tour, quién sabe si de algo más en los próximos años, hace de Sotogrande un lugar mejor, con más atractivo y sin duda, con un gran evento que lo sitúa en el centro del panorama deportivo internacional. Nosotros también aportamos nuestro granito desde el año 2013 con el Circuito de Golf Sotogrande que mueve cada año cerca de 500 jugadores por los campos de la zona. Pero sector empresarial y generador de riqueza también moverse para consolidar este destino como centro de negocios por sí mismo. Los sistemas digitales, las nuevas tecnologías y el demostrado, durante la pandemia, efecto positivo del teletrabajo y sus enormes posibilidades convierten a Sotogrande en un lugar increíble para numerosos ejecutivos, empresas y operadores financieros. Esperemos que todo eso, apoyado en la intachable marcha del sector inmobiliario impulsen un despegue sin precedentes en el resort. De esto y de mucho más, versaremos el próximo 30 de noviembre durante la celebración del XII Foro Empresarial Sotogrande que organizamos en el Real Club Valderrama (asistencia por invitación hasta completar el limitado aforo). Será una jornada de trabajo increíble para situar y tomar el pulso a cómo respira el tejido empresarial local y sus inquietudes. Todo ello, amenizado con una ponencia de excepción, por el reconocido Emilio Duró. Ya le contaremos qué tal pero les adelanto que seguro que bien. We all know what Sotogrande is like, how it operates, behaves and even how it acts when most is expected of it, as an idyllic destination on a residential and tourist level. We are really used and some of us are even devoted, to expanding, disseminating and promoting such a privileged place that we live in and which almost systematically is the centre of everyone´s attention between Holy Week and the strongest months of the peak summer season. It is. However, the journey is much broader and the opportunities and possibilities to exploit and remake are enormous. Indeed, a lot of the main assets (on a business and institutional level) are involved in this task, trying to raise the level and increase the quality of the Sotogrande destination beyond that barrier. Each in its point on the scale to ensure that the swing doesn´t stop moving, which is no less than generating activity, and thus economic development and the creation of employment. I am aware of the optimistic plans in terms of polo, with the collaboration of the different local clubs, to extend and offer a season of a very high level between the months of May and September next year, with the Christmas prelude that is always presented by our friend Pelayo Berazadi. Little more can be said about golf. Once again, congratulations to Real Club Valderrama for the immense gift that they offer us each autumn in the form of a golf tournament that makes the resort dazzle in an unparalleled way. The growth of the Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucía Masters as a great tournament on the European Tour, who knows if it could be more in coming years, makes Sotogrande a better place, with more appeal and undoubtedly, with a great event that puts it at the centre of international sporting panorama. We have also made our contribution since 2013 with the Sotogrande Golf Circuit which moves almost 500 players around the courses in the area each year. However, the business sector and wealth generators also need to move to consolidate this destination as a business centre in itself. Digital systems, new technologies and the proven positive effect of teleworking during the pandemic and its enormous possibilities make Sotogrande an incredible place for several executives, companies and financial operators. We hope that all that, supported by the impeccable progress of the property sector will drive an unprecedented boom in the resort. This and much more, will be addressed on 30 November during the celebration of the XII Sotogrande Business Forum that we are organising at Real Club Valderrama (attendance via invitation until the limited capacity is completed). It will be an incredible work day to locate and take the pulse of how the local business community is breathing and its concerns. All, livened up with an exceptional speech, by the renowned Emilio Duró. Los trabajos entran en la fase de finalización tras recibir la autorización pertinente de la Junta de Andalucía para su aceptación y ejecución. Se espera que en las próximas semanas ya se encuentre completamente abierto el paso.

Encara la recta ﬁnal la rehabilitación del cruce en la Avenida de los Cortijos Una situación molesta y compleja que ya encara los últimos capítulos de esta anormal circunstancia que se alarga demasiado en el tiempo. La rehabilitación del cruce de la Av. de los Cortijos, a casusa del hundimiento de la vía el pasado mes de marzo (por el fuerte temporal), llegaría en las próximas semanas a su fase de finalización tras tener conocimiento este periódico que el Ayuntamiento de San Roque ya cuenta con la autorización del órgano compe-

tente de la Junta de Andalucía para su aceptación y ejecución definitiva. Una circunstancia que a todas luces se había convertido en un importante problema para vecinos y residentes por lo dilatado de su reparación y las consecuentes molestias al ver cortada una de las principales arterias que conectan la zona alta de la urbanización. Recordar como antes se mencionaba que el tráfico rodado se mantiene cortado en el cruce de la Av. de los Cor-

tijos desde marzo, tras el incidente por culpa de las fuertes lluvias y los destrozos en la cuenca hidráulica del enclave. También resulta curioso lo empantanado que se encontraba esta resolución en instancias administrativas, pese a la actitud, voluntad e interés demostrado por la Entidad Urbanística de Conservación por subsanar el asunto con la mayor celeridad posible. Tras la presentación del proyecto, con varios meses de antelación, finalmente este me-

dio tiene constancia que la Junta de Andalucía a través de la Delegación Territorial para obras y construcciones en zona de dominio público hidráulico, aprobó recientemente la finalización de los trabajos y que tras su aceptación, no debería extenderse más allá de un mes o unas pocas semanas; con el nuevo paso de aguas y la apertura nuevamente al tráfico. Una vez próxima la consecución del objetivo, algo que sin duda todas las partes pretendían, no

deja de ser al menos curioso, las diferentes posiciones respecto a la problemática que ocupan las entidades e instituciones implicadas. Sin duda, el XII Foro Empresarial Sotogrande se convertirá en un escenario de lujo para esclarecer más detalles al respecto.

Qué caro está todo Los precios de los bienes y los servicios suben y bajan, comparados unos con otros. Eso es un cambio en los precios relativos. Pero cuando todo sube de precio, lo llamamos inflación. El economista Milton Friedman decía: “la inflación es siempre y en todo lugar un fenómeno monetario”. Cuatro siglos antes, los pensadores de la Escuela de Salamanca ya lo habían percibido, relacionado la gran cantidad de metales preciosos llegados de América y la subida de los precios en España. En los últimos tiempos, la inflación parecía erradicada en casi todo el planeta, salvo en un puñado de países con autoridades deplorables, como Zimbabue, Venezuela o mi Argentina natal. En el resto del mundo fluctuaban los precios relativos, por ejemplo, podían encarecerse las acciones o los pisos, pero el nivel general de los precios se mantenía relativamente estable. El IPC, Índice de Precios de Consumo, rara vez subía más del 2 % anual, e incluso solía ser bastante menor.

Esto ha cambiado. Sigue habiendo, como siempre, alteraciones en los precios relativos, y los actuales desajustes en las cadenas de suministros pueden llevar al encarecimiento de algunas mercancías, igual que las equivocadas políticas energéticas y fiscales han impulsado el aumento de los precios de la luz y los combustibles. Pero la inflación sigue siendo un fenómeno monetario, asociado a

las políticas expansivas emprendidas por los bancos centrales de todo el mundo, y a un ritmo más acelerado a raíz de la pandemia. En ese sentido, es curioso que los políticos y los medios se refieran a que los bancos centrales “lucharán” contra la inflación, cuando en realidad la han alimentado. La inflación nunca es idéntica en todos los precios, es decir, también está presente el cambio en

los precios relativos. Muy especialmente, en el precio relativo más importante: el de los ingresos de los ciudadanos. Por eso nos quejamos de “qué caro está todo”: porque comparamos “todo” con nuestro salario, que suele quedarse atrás. Por eso se dice que la inflación es el impuesto de la mayoría de la gente, un impuesto, por cierto, que nunca se vota en el Parlamento.

In that regard, it is strange that politicians and the media refer to the fact that the central banks “will fight”

against inflation, when in reality they have encouraged it. Inflation is never identical across all prices, that is to say, the change in relative prices is also present. Especially, in the most important relative price: the income of citizens. That is why we complain about “how expensive everything is”: because we compare “everything” with our salary, which normally lags behind. That is why it is said that inflation is the tax of the majority of people, a tax, by the way, that is never voted on in Parliament.

El atractivo del destino Sotogrande, más en alza que nunca Se trata de un momento idílico, antes de acabar el año, para tomar el pulso y la tendencia a cómo se mueve el sector inmobiliario en Sotogrande, a todas luces, uno de los principales motores económicos de la urbanización y uno de los mercados más en alza en los últimos tiempos desde la salida de la pandemia. Grupo HCP, bajo El Periódico de Sotogrande, convocó a varios de los agentes y representantes más significativos y longevos, en exclusiva de este

sector, para conocer de primera mano algunas de las debilidades y fortaleces del resort en los últimos tiempos. cios para la urbanización que se tratarán en la próxima edición del Foro Empresarial Sotogrande. Entre las principales conclusiones del evento destacó la buena marcha y evolución del mercado desde el principio de salida de la pandemia, apoyado en la positividad de la macroeconomía y las nuevas prioridades de inversores y compradores. Encontrar un lugar con buen clima, playa, golf, seguridad, sanidad, educación, servicios e infraestructuras adecuadas, como es en este mo-

mento Sotogrande, permite desde tiempo contar con un mercado estable en el sector inmobiliario. Algo que en muy pocos lugares del mundo puede darse y que aún mantiene unos precios coherentes respecto a otros resorts similares. También destaca la apertura de nuevos perfiles de inversores, un importante incremento en la procedencia francesa, belga, centroeuropea o de medio oriente, que se suma a los consolidados mercados nacional y británico

(resaltar que éste último podría estar nuevamente ante una gran oportunidad de crecimiento si termina de concretarse los acuerdos para frontera schengen en Gibraltar). Todo ello viene ciertamente motivado por la consolidación de grandes inversiones en el complejo: la apuesta por la marina y el mercado de levante, toda la comunidad de La Reserva Club, el flamante hotel SO/ Sotogrande, clubes de playa, mejoras en campos de golf, nuevas pro-

Estimado Sr. García Me llamo Alec y trabajo de agente inmobiliario en España. Hace poco le he vendido una parcela en la urbanización San Diego a un cliente muy fiel. Diseñamos una casa preciosa; nuestro arquitecto consiguió que el colegio oficial de arquitectos aprobara la totalidad del proyecto y, mientras tanto, solicitó una licencia de obras en el ayuntamiento de San Roque. Incluso hubo un desembolso de dinero hace unos años para la mejora de todos los sistemas de tuberías con el objetivo de que el agua fluyera mejor a todas las parcelas de San Diego. Nos dieron esta noticia a mediados de julio de este año y hasta ahora solo nos han dicho que San Roque únicamente ha celebrado una reunión y que se están discutiendo las soluciones. Dejar que una persona compre una parcela y se gaste 200 000 euros en suelo que ha sido catalogado como urbano consolidado es ilegal por parte de San

Roque. Este asunto se conoce desde hace dos años y se sigue permitiendo la compra de parcelas en San Diego e Invespania. He ido muchas veces al ayuntamiento de San Roque y me siguen dando largas. Están amargándole la vida a mucha gente y causando gran angustia y quebraderos de cabeza. Las inmobiliarias siguen anunciando la venta de parcelas en estas zonas. Recurro a ustedes porque tienen el poder de hacer que el público conozca esta situación. Lo último que nos han dicho hoy cuando hemos tenido una reunión es que están pensando en una solución y que no pueden dar una hora o fecha concretos. Querían que fuéramos a Hidralia a mendigar agua cuando es su trabajo arreglar este lío. Por favor, les pido ayuda, ya que hay muchos propietarios de parcelas en la misma situación que nosotros. Esto resulta muy angustioso y verdaderamente necesitamos que nos den voz.

They even spent money some years back in improving all the piping systems there for better water flow to all plots in San Diego. We received this news back in middle of July this year and until now we have only been told that San Roque has only had one meeting and they are discussing some solutions. LA ESTIMULACIÓN COGNITIVA COGNITIVE STIMULATION

La inteligencia del corazón Los descubrimientos sobre nuestro cerebro inciden en nuestra plasticidad neuronal y la capacidad de mantenerlas aún en edades avanzadas, lo cual de por sí es una muy buena noticia. Del mismo modo es ya un hecho constatado que las emociones y la mente no caminan por separado, de tal suerte que no sólo influyen en nuestros procesos cognitivos, sino que en muchos casos la dirigen. He aquí la importancia de la “coherencia cardiaca”. Corazón y cerebro actuando en sintonía; intuición y razón al unísono… Ya lo vimos, “el corazón tiene razones que la razón ignora”... ¿En qué consiste la “coherencia cardiaca”? Hace más de veinte años el instituto HeartMath inició una serie de investigaciones sobre la relevancia del corazón y la trascendencia de los sentimientos en la inteligencia humana y su bienestar general. En estados anímicos negativos el ritmo cardíaco es caótico y las funciones cognitivas se ven limitadas. En estado de serenidad sin embargo, la interacción entre el corazón y cerebro aclaran el pensamiento y la percepción, aumentan los niveles de atención, concentración, memoria y creatividad, así como la capacidad en la toma de decisiones. De esta forma, el corazón, con sus más de 40.000 neuronas, es mucho más que un músculo de bombeo. Su campo electromagnético es muy superior al del cerebro, pudiendo abarcar de 2 a 4 metros; emite muchas más órdenes al cerebro que viceversa y un largo etcétera. Estas conclusiones han sido respaldadas a través de la aparatología. De esta forma, cuando involucramos al corazón, no sólo se favorecen las funciones fisiológicas, pues se reordena el sistema nervioso y el endocrino, sino principalmente los procesos mentales.

En general cualquier actividad que nos resulte placentera favorece la coherencia cardíaca. De igual forma ayudan los sentimientos de gratitud, compasión, esperanza y todos aquellos de elevada vibración. Sin embargo aquí proponemos un sencillo ejercicio para todos aquellos que se animen. Cinco minutos de esta práctica se traduce en beneficios fisiológicos y mentales durante las siguientes seis horas. Paso 1.- En la postura que más cómoda nos resulte, inhalamos profundamente durante 5 segundos, pausa de 1 segundo, exhalamos de la misma forma durante 5 segundos, pausa de 1 segundo. Así durante 5 minutos. Paso 2.- Colocamos las manos sobre el corazón. Paso 3.- Traemos a la mente una vivencia agradable, con sus aromas, sonidos, colores… y la llevamos al corazón de forma sostenida. Paso 4.- Expandimos la experiencia al resto del cuerpo y recuperamos la respiración normal.

In general, any activity that is pleasurable encourages cardiac coherence. Likewise, they help the feelings of gratitude, compassion, hope and all of those with a high pulsation. However, here we suggest a simple exercise for everyone who fancies it. Five minutes of this practice results in physiological and mental benefits for the following six hours. Step 1.- In the position that is most comfortable, breathe in deeply for 5 second, pause for 1 second, breathe out in the same way for 5 seconds, pause for 1 second. And do this for 5 minutes. Step 2.- Place your hands on your heart. Step 3.- Bring a pleasant experience into your mind, with its aromas, sounds, colours...and bring it into the heart in a sustained way. Step 4.- Extend the experience to the rest of your body and recover normal breathing.

La responsabilidad del tiempo El tiempo, dicen, es una creación del hombre. Todo lo medimos en función del tiempo, es el recurso más valioso, limitado e irrecuperable que tenemos. Por tanto, su valor, es la vida misma. No existe ningún manual de instrucciones que te explique cuando tienes que actuar, ni alarmas que suenen cuando sea tiempo de parar para tomar distancia, curar, crecer y poder avanzar. Queremos vivir más tiempo, pero no siempre logramos vivir mejor. Vamos a ganar tiempo, estoy matando el tiempo, organiza tu tiempo, ¿ eres productivo? Por supuesto, todo, en función del tiempo. Si no hubiera hecho eso… arrepentimientos y lamentos del presente por las consecuencias de decisiones pasadas. El tiempo no da marcha atrás, no concede segundas oportunidades, pero te permite mirar hacia delante y proyectar en el futuro una realidad más esperanzadora, y, para crearla, sólo tienes que actuar en el momento presente. Cuando aparece una oportunidad, aparece aquí y ahora, en este tiempo y en este espacio. No aparece en el pasado ni en el futuro, las oportunidades pertenecen al presente.

Tus emociones y sentimientos son presente, las sientes hoy, no sabes cómo te sentirás dentro de un año, pero sabes lo que sientes ahora, en este instante. Tus pensamientos son presente, eres consciente de lo que piensas ahora, no de lo que pensarás mañana. Tu propio cuerpo es presente, dentro de siete años no quedará en tu cuerpo ni uno solo de los átomos que forman tus células hoy en día. El propio cuerpo es dinámico desde el presente. Somos un proceso en sí mismo, vamos regenerando nuestras células a lo largo del tiempo, evolucionando, cambiando y creciendo. Desde el presente. Y, sin embargo, nos pasamos la vida delegando responsabilidades al tiempo. El tiempo te dará la razón, El tiempo pone a todo el mundo en su sitio, El tiempo todo lo cura, El tiempo dirá… En cambio, El tiempo no espera El tiempo solo dirá lo que vayas decidiendo pensar y hacer ahora, en cada día de tu vida. El tiempo te mostrará todos los conflictos que no fuiste capaz de enfrentar en su momento y todo lo que perdiste por el camino.

La única razón que te dará el tiempo, es cuánto de verdad deseabas aquello que querías y cuán comprometido estabas para tenerlo en tu vida. Si no fluye en el tiempo, no es para ti. Si las piezas no encajan, no es para ti. El tiempo no las moldeará para que hagas el puzzle perfecto de tu vida. Si tienes un conflicto, abordarlo Si tienes una responsabilidad, asúmela. Si tienes un amor, abrázalo. Si tus emociones te desbordan, toma distancia, ahí el tiempo sí te permite crecer para tener claridad. Permítete tiempo para entender, pero luego actúa para crecer. Si algo te permite el tiempo es actuar. Por ello es importante marcarse

metas desde el presente. Porque nada es estático ni permanece en función del tiempo. En un proceso de coaching, fijar metas y objetivos para poder evolucionar y desarrollarse cómo persona, siempre se determinan en función del tiempo. Con una perspectiva realista y retadora. Establecer un horizonte temporal, marca la diferencia entre el sueño y la realidad, entre la posibilidad y la utopía. Incluso aunque no sepas por dónde empezar, puedes marcarte un horizonte temporal para empezar a vivir tu vida soñada, y lograr motivación para dar pasos hacia ella cada día. Hacer lo que tengas que hacer, a tiempo.

Time puts everyone in their place, Time heals everything, Time will tell... On the other hand, Time doesn´t wait Time will only tell what you gradually decide to think and do now, on each day of your life. Time will show you all the conflicts that you were not able to face at the time and everything you lost along the way. The only way time will prove you right, is in how truly you wanted what you desired and how committed you were to having it in your life. If it doesn´t flow over time, it isn´t for you. If the pieces don´t fit, it isn´t for you. Time will not shape them for you to create the perfect puzzle from your life. If you have a conflict, tackle it. If you have a responsibility, assume it. If you have a love, embrace it.

If your emotions overwhelm you, take a step back, then time will allow you to grow in order to have clarity. Give yourself time to understand, but then act to grow. If there is something that time allows you, it is to act. Therefore, it is important to set goals through the present. Because nothing is static or remains according to time. It is a coaching process, establishing goals and targets in order to evolve and develop as a person, they are always determined according to time. With a realistic and challenging perspective. Establish a time frame, establish the difference between dream and reality, between possibility and utopia. Even if you don´t know where to begin, you can set a time frame for beginning to live your dream life, and get motivation for beginning to take steps towards it each day. Do what you need to do, on time.

Your emotions and feelings are the present, you feel them today, you don´t know how you will feel within a year, but you know what you feel now, at this instant. Your feelings are present, you are aware of what you think know, not of what you will think tomorrow. Your own body is present, within seven years not a single atom of those that now form your cells will remain in your body. The body is dynamic from the present. Un siglo ‘de oro’ como referente gastronómico en el Campo de Gibraltar • El Restaurante bar Cuenca de Jimena recibe la Medalla de Oro de Horeca por cumplir más de un siglo haciendo disfrutar de la mejor cocina a comensales de todo el Campo de Gibraltar. • Un establecimiento emblemático sin el que no se entendería buena parte del desarrollo y crecimiento del municipio de Jimena en las últimas décadas de su historia. • Todo un referente gastronómico en la Comarca que ya acoge la cuarta generación de un ‘Cuenca’ tras el mostrador o en los fogones. Es difícil, casi imposible, imaginar o desvincular la historia y el desarrollo de numerosos avances en la historia del Municipio de Jimena a lo largo del Siglo XX sin la aportación o intervención de la Familia Cuenca. Un reconocido apellido en todo el Campo de Gibraltar gracias a su incansable labor de difusión y promoción de la gastronomía comarcal a través del Restaurante Bar Cuenca, uno de los establecimientos más entrañables y emblemáticos de esta tierra y que recientemente ha sido galardonado con al Medalla de Oro de Horeca [Federación de

Hostelería de Cádiz], por superar los 100 años de servicio al comensal. La primera televisión en un bar local, la primera Coca-Cola, los primeros bailes, el impulso de la feria, la integración gastronómica de productos de la zona como las setas, los primeros locales con música en directo e incluso las primeras discotecas y guateques, difícilmente se entenderían sin la referencia del apellido Cuenca en Jimena y buena parte la zona noreste del Campo de Gibraltar. Un ilustre apellido ligado a los fogones y que ahora ve cómo se con-

solida con la cuarta generación de un familia con mucha solera. “Todo esto comenzó con mi abuelo, Juan Cuenca, en el año 1920, con la fundación del bar Cuenca en la Av. los Deportes 31”, explica Celio Cuenca, uno de los actuales propietarios del negocio y miembro del tercer escalafón generacional a cargo del bar junto a su hermano Toni [dos de los cinco hermanos]. “Ése fue el inicio y comienzo de la historia que hoy ya supera los cien años; durante ese recorrido hemos disfrutado, vivido y también sufrido, como todos, diferentes etapas

pero que felizmente hoy forman parte de la historia de nuestra familia, de Jimena y de toda la Comarca”, detalla. Explica que la gran explosión y desarrollo del establecimiento a nivel gastronómico llegó de la mano de sus padres cuando se hicieron cargo del negocio: Ernesto Cuenca y Josefa Pérez. “Ellos aportaron un valor diferencial a lo que entonces se conocía como un bar en aquella época. Lo convirtieron en un lugar concurrido, al que acudían familias al completo a comer desde toda la Comarca. Con variedad de co-

mida, bebidas y licores, algo poco común por esos tiempos”, recuerda Cuenca. “Algo que permitió seguir creciendo al negocio y que empujó a mi padre, todo visionario, a tomar muchas iniciativas en Jimena que más tarde fueron refrendadas e incluso copiadas aunque en aquellos momentos lo podían tomar hasta por un loco”, bromea Celio. Explica como fue apostando por la vida del municipio y puso en marcha iniciativas como la de apostar por varios establecimientos de ocio (pubs, discotecas, etc), que aún permanecen en

el recuerdo de muchos de los vecinos de la Comarca que acudían a sus primeras noches de guateque a finales de los años 70 e inicios de los 80; e incluso promover el catering de películas rodadas en la zona como “Los tres etcéteras del coronel”, con Vittorio de Sica y Anita Ekberg en 1960 “A la discoteca Pósito, que entonces estaba pegada al bar, venía gente de toda la Comarca a pasarlo bien. Era uno de los pocos lugares con música en directo, luces, cócteles, etc. Y todo ello con un fantástico ambiente, nunca hizo falta ni un portero, la gente sabía respetar y comportarse, ahora sería difícil ver algo así”, explica. “Pero no sólo tuvimos el Pósito, mi padre también montó anteriormente Los Tres Saltos, que entonces poníamos música de viento, o sitios tan míticos para los locales como Cuper 5 o La 2, para gente joven. Siempre hemos tratado de traer cosas nuevas a Jimena que no existían aquí o veíamos fuera. Mi padre siempre fue un gran precursor y abrió muchos caminos al sector”, explica Celio.

La Familia Cuenca ha tenido incluso grandes lazos con Sotogrande ya que en los años 60, en plena construcción primitiva de la urbanización, Ernesto Cuenca y su mujer regentaban al mismo tiempo la famosa Cantina de Sotogrande, en la que diariamente se servían hasta más de 300 comidas para empleados y obreros que en aquellos años trabajaban en el desarrollo del resort.

“A finales de los 70 mi padre decidió trasladarse a un establecimiento más grande y con mejores instalaciones. Nos establecimos en el lugar dónde hoy se ubica el restaurante”, explica Cuenca. “Por aquellos tiempos todo esto sólo era campo y algunos garajes, el pueblo aún ni contemplaba una extensión hacia esta zona y muchos pensaron que sería un gran error, nada más lejos de la realidad. Aquí conseguimos ofrecer al público un lugar amplio en el que disfrutar de la comida, con un comedor generoso, terraza, zona de barra, etc. e incluso incorporar un espacio para celebraciones y eventos. Esto hizo dar un salto aún mayor al negocio y abrir más la puerta a la visita de los campogibraltareños y buena parte de pueblos del sur de Málaga que venían a comer los fines de semana”, matiza. En los últimos años, explica Celio, el negocio pasó a ser gestionado por él y su hermano Toni [actual cocinero junto a la esposa de Celio]. “Esto siempre ha funcionado porque ha sido

muy familiar, hemos estado muy unidos y hemos dedicado muchas horas, esfuerzo y trabajo, ése es el único secreto. Trabajar duro y tratar siempre al cliente como merece”, asevera. “Hoy, gracias a Dios, es mi sobrino Antonio [hijo de Toni], quién comienza a tomar las riendas del restaurante, lo que nos hace pensar con optimismo que aquí queda mucho futuro y mucha familia Cuenca para los próximos años. Está sobradamente preparado y ha visto en su padre y en mí que la única fórmula de mantenerse se basa en el esfuerzo, la humildad y en echar muchas horas, no hay otra”, afirma. Por todo eso y mucho más, este galardón de la Medalla de Oro de Horeca al Restaurante bar Cuenca es más que merecido y de obligado recibo por todo lo que ha dado a esta Comarca y seguirá dando como uno de sus grandes templos gastronómicos, más históricos y emblemáticos. ¡Enhorabuena y salud a toda la Familia Cuenca!

• The restaurant bar Cuenca de Jimena receives Gold Medal for the HORECA sector for celebrating more than one century delighting diners from all over Campo de Gibraltar with the best cuisine. • An emblematic establishment without which a large part of the development and growth of the municipality of Jimena over the recent decades of its history could not be understood. • A real gastronomic benchmark in the Regional Province that is now home to the fourth generation of a “Cuenca” behind the bar or in the kitchen. It is difficult, almost impossible, to imagine or separate the history and development of several advances in the history of the Municipality of Jimena throughout the 20th century without the contribution or intervention of the Cuenca family. A renowned surname throughout Campo de Gibraltar thanks to its tireless work to disseminate and promote regional gastronomy through Restaurante Bar Cuenca, one of the most beloved and emblematic establishments in this region which has recently been awarded the Gold Medal for the HORECA sector (Federation of Catering of Cádiz), as it has been serving diners for over 100 years. The first television in a local bar, the first Coca-Cola, the first dances, the organisation of the fair, the gastronomic integration of products from the area such as mushrooms, the first premises with live music and even the first discos and parties, are tough to understand without the benchmark of the Cuenca surname in Jimena and a large part of the northeast part of Campo de Gibraltar. An illustrious surname linked to cuisine and it is now consolidating itself with the fourth generation of a family with lots of tradition. “All of this began with my grandfather, Juan Cuenca, in 1920, with the establishment of Bar Cuenca on Avenida los Deportes 31” explains Celio Cuenca, one of the current owners of the business and a member of the third generation in charge of the bar alongside his brother Toni (two of the five siblings). “That was the origin and beginning of the story that has now lasted for over one hundred years; during that journey we have enjoyed, experience and also suffered, like everyone,

different period but today they happily form part of the history of our family, of Jimena, and of the entire Province” he states. He explains that the great boom and development of the establishment at a gastronomic level came from his parents when they took over the business: Ernesto Cuenca and Josefa Pérez. “They contributed a differential value to what was then known as a bar at that time. They turned it into a busy place, visited by entire families who came to eat from all over the Province. With a variety of food, drink and spirits, which was not very common at that time” remembers Cuenca. “This made it possible to keep the business growing and it drove my father , a real visionary, to undertake many initiatives in Jimena that were later endorsed and even copied although at that time he may have been considered crazy” jokes Celio. He explains how he gradually committed to lie in the municipality and launched initiatives such as commit-

ting to several leisure establishments (pubs, discos, etc.), which are still remembered by many of the residents of the Province who came for their first party nights at the end of the 70´s and start of the 80´s; and even provided the catering for films shot in the area such as “Three Etc.’s and the Colonel” with Vittorio de Sica and Anita Ekberg in 1960 “People from all over the Province came to the disco Pósito, which back then was right next to the bar. It was one of the few places with live music, lights, cocktails, etc. And all with a fantastic atmosphere, it wasn´t even necessary to have a doorman, people knew how to be respectful and behave themselves, which would be difficult to imagine now” he explains. “However, we didn´t just have El Pósito, my father also previously established Los Tres Saltos, where we used to play wind music, and really legendary places for local people such as

Cuper 5 and La 2, for young people. We have always tried to bring new things to Jimena that didn´t exist here or that we saw outside the area. My father was always a great pioneer and opened up many paths for the sector” explains Celio. The Cuenca family has even had great links with Sotogrande as in the 60´s, in the midst of the early construction of the resort, Ernesto Cuenca and his wife ran the famous Cantina de Sotogrande at the same time, which served more than 300 meals on a daily basis for employees and workers who during those years were working on the development of the resort. “At the end of the 70´s my father decided to move to a larger establishment with better facilities. We settled in the place where the restaurant is now located” explains Cuenca. “Back then all of this was only countryside and some garages, the town did not even spread as far as that area and many people thought that it

would be a big mistake, which couldn´t be further from the truth. Here, we managed to offer the public a large place for enjoying food, with an expansive dining room, terrace, bar area, etc., and even incorporate a space for celebrations and events. This made the business take an even bigger leap and further open the door to visits from the people of Campo de Gibraltar and a large part of the towns from southern Malaga who came to eat at the weekends” he states. Over recent years, Celio explains, management of the business has been taken over by him and his brother Toni (current chef alongside Celio´s wife). “This has always worked because it has been very family based, we have always been very united and we have devoted many hours, effort and work, that is the only secret. Working hard and always treating clients the way they deserve” he states. “Now, thanks to God, it is my nephew Antonio (son of Toni), who is beginning to take over the restaurant which makes us optimistically think that there is a big future and lots of Cuenca family members for the coming years. He is very well trained and has seen with his father and me that the only way to keep going is through work, humility and putting lots of hours in, there is no other way” he notes. Because of this and lots more, this award of the Gold Medal for the HORECA sector to Restaurante Bar Cuenca is very well-deserved and a must in view of everything it has given to this Province and it will continue giving as one of its most historic and emblematic great gastronomic temples. En memoria de Doña Toni-Ena Núñez Guerra

Una mujer capaz de cambiar la historia Quienes mejor la conocieron ponen palabras a una vida de generosidad y dedicación absoluta por mejorar la sociedad gracias a la educación y la cultura.

A lo largo del camino, en ciertas ocasiones, ya que no se trata de una suerte muy habitual, existe la fortuna de encontrase con seres especiales que hacen mejor la vida de quienes la rodean. Así era y ese era el espíritu de Doña Toni-Ena Núñez Guerra, una mujer única en su espacio y tiempo, capaz de enfrentarse con determinación y decisión a cualquier desafío o reto que se le presentase delante, todo ello, bajo la convicción absoluta de que el fin y la causa merecían la pena. Favorecer y mejorar la sociedad en la que le tocó crecer y vivir a través del arma más poderosa que existe en el mundo: la educación y la cultura. Sirvan estas líneas inspiradoras de quienes mejor la conocieron para recordar su memoria. Gracias a la colaboración y detalles narrados por estas personas nos acercamos un poco más a varias de sus gestas profesionales y especialmente, a sus grandes virtudes como persona, las que marcan su verdadera altura. Entre algunos de los elogios más destacables de personas que compartieron su día a día, resalta principalmente uno, el de la “admiración”, tanto por su obra como por su calidad humana. “Admiración, por su capacidad para continuar al principio y superar después, la gran obra iniciada por D. José, con una determinación sin fisuras y una modestia ejemplar”, aporta un docente que ha estado casi 50 años en su compañía. Todo amasado desde “el cariño” e incluso, reiteran, desde el “enorme cariño” del que hizo

partícipe a todas las personas que pasaron por el centro durante su etapa, a quienes les hizo sentir como “pilares imprescindibles para el crecimiento y desarrollo del colegio”. Y así mismo, que el colegio también se convirtiese en un eje fundamental para la vida de cada docente y miembro de la comunidad escolar. Recuerdan como una de sus citas más emblemáticas aquella de “nunca errarás si persigues en

tu quehacer el bienestar y felicidad de nuestros alumnos”, digna de una placa a la entrada del centro. Una directora firme en convicciones y así se lo hacía saber al profesorado, en la defensa de valores en los que creía firmemente aunque siempre con una sonrisa cordial y haciendo entender que todo era en beneficio de la comunidad. Algo que se conjugaba a la perfección, en muchos de

los casos, con su otro perfil, su figura en el papel de madre para muchos de los docentes y trabajadores con quién compartió claustro. Alguien “a quién contar cualquier confidencia o pedir consejo”, siempre bajo su carácter generoso y atento. Contaba con un “fino instinto pedagógico”, siempre dispuesta a poner en marcha diferentes “iniciativas culturales que implementaran el currículo oficial para formar una personalidad integral, creativa y rica en posibilidades de desarrollo en el alumno”. Todo ello lo materializó gracias a su firme apuesta por las actividades musicales, teatrales, conferencias, etc. Citas que se multiplicaron con la apertura del Colegio en Guadalmina, “organizándolas de tal modo que no coincidieran a la misma hora para poder asistir a todas”. Entre una de sus parábolas más inspiradores se encuentra la de un recordado discurso en la Escuela de Música dónde comparaba el colegio “con una orquesta en la que siempre hay un organizador entregado y comprometido con el equipo y que circunstancias diversas pueden originar un relevo de director”. Clarividentes palabras que emulaban al crucial momento en el Doña Toni-Ena “cogió la batuta y mantuvo la sinfonía. Impulsó las aspiraciones de situar la música en el epicentro de la vida pedagógica, manteniendo y fomentando toda actividad cultural y musical, especialmente el Coro, del que se sintió siempre orgullosa”. No debe quedar atrás “su labor soli-

daria y a favor de los más necesitados”. Doña Toni-Ena dio muestras de su enorme generosidad al ser una de las grandes impulsoras y promotoras de las campañas de recogida de alimentos en colaboración con numerosas entidades. “Siempre era la primera en promover en el centro y fuera de él estas iniciativas tan necesarias”, explican quiénes más tiempo compartieron con ella. “Una persona

Y para muestra un botón, ya que no en pocas ocasiones, fue ella misma quién “donó numerosos alimentos para colectivos desfavorecidos o residencias de mayores, llevando leche y yogures entre otros muchos bienes”, detalles que marcan la diferencia. Sirvan estas líneas para transmitir el recuerdo y pésame a familiares, profesores y amigos de parte de toda la comunidad que forma la gran familia de Sotogrande con todo el cariño, especialmente de la redacción de Grupo HCP. “Nunca se irá de nuestro lado, porque nunca se apagará en nuestro recuerdo la luz de su sonrisa”.

A woman capable of changing history Those who knew her best attest to a life of generosity and complete devotion to improving society thanks to education and culture. Along the way, at certain times, as it isn´t a very common occurrence, we are lucky to encounter special people who make the lives of those around them better. This was the case and that was the spirit of Doña Toni-Ena Núñez Guerra, a unique woman in her space and time, capable of tackling, with determination and decision, any challenge that was presented to her, especially, with the absolute conviction that the end and the cause were worthwhile. Encouraging and improving the society she lived in and through the most powerful weapon that exists in the world: education and culture. Allow these inspiring lines by those who knew her best to honour her memory. Thanks to the collaboration and details narrated by these people, we can get a little closer to several of her professional feats and especially her great virtues as a person, which show her true greatness.

Among some of the most notable praise from people who shared daily life with her, one piece of praise mainly stands out, that the “admiration” for both her work and human quality. “Admiration, for her capacity to continue at the start and then improve, the great work started by D. José, with unwavering determination and exemplary modesty” explain those closest to her. All kneaded with “affection” and they even reiterate the “enormous affection” she displayed to everyone who passed through the school during her time, who she made feel to be “essential pillars for the growth and development of the school”. And likewise, she also made the school a crucial pillar for the life of every teacher and member of the school community. They remember how one of her most emblematic quotes was that “you will never go wrong if you pursue the wellbeing and happiness of our pupils in your work”, which is worthy of a plaque

at the entrance to the school. A director who had firm convictions and was able to show that to the teachers, in the defence of the values that she firmly believed in although always with a friendly smile and making it understood that it was all for the benefit of the community. Something that blended perfectly, in many cases, with her other profile, her role as mother to many of the teachers and workers who she worked with. Someone “to tell any secret to or ask for advice from”, always with her generous and attentive character. She had a “refined pedagogical instinct”, always willing to launch different “cultural initiatives that implemented the official curriculum to form a complete, create character with rich development possibilities for pupils”. She embodied that thanks to her strong commitment to musical, theatre activities, conferences, etc. Events that proliferated with the opening of the School in Guadalmina,

“organising them in a way so they didn´t coincide at the same time so people could go to them all”. Among her most inspiring parables is that of a much remembered speech at the Music School where she compared to the school “to an orchestra where there is always a devoted organiser who is committed to the team and which different circumstances could lead to the director being replaced”. Prescient words that emulated the crucial moment where Doña Toni-Ena “took up the baton and maintained the symphony. She encouraged the aspirations of putting music at the epicentre of pedagogical life, maintaining and encouraging all the cultural and musical activity, especially the Choir, which she was always proud of”. Her “charity work in favour of those most in need” shouldn´t be forgotten about. Doña Toni-Ena showed her enormous generosity by being one of the

great organisers and promoters of campaigns to collect food in collaboration with several entities. “She was always the first to promote, in and outside the school, these highly necessary initiatives” explain those who shared most time with her. “A person with an enormous heart and willing to devote her time and efforts to improving the lives of others”. For example, often, it was she herself who “donated lots of food to disadvantaged groups and elderly people homes, taking milk and yoghurt among many other goods”, details that make a difference. May these lines convey remembrance and condolences to family, teachers and friends from part of the entire community that the large Sotogrande family forms with all the affection, especially from the editorial office of Grupo HCP. “She will never leave our side, because the memory of her smile will never be extinguished in our memory”.

Educación Colegio San José “El Yo y el Otro” Con el fin de incentivar el pensamiento filosófico y crítico del alumnado, el Colegio San José convoca el V Concurso de Filosofía, que este año tiene por lema monográfico “El Yo y el Otro”. La fase final se celebrará en enero de 2022 en el marco del III Congreso de Filosofía Colegio San José. El concurso se dirige a alumnos matriculados en el presente curso escolar en Bachillerato y/ó Programa del Diploma del Bachillerato Internacional de centros educativos del territorio nacional. Los participantes deben realizar una disertación filosófica sobre el tema “El Yo y el Otro” con arreglo a las bases del concurso, que se desarrollará de manera telemática. Un jurado hará público el nombre de los tres finalistas, quienes defenderán sus trabajos para optar al primer, segundo y tercer premio. Algo de diversión terrorífica, ducación coronas otoñales y mucho más

Octubre fue un mes muy divertido y terrorífico en nuestro ‘cole’. Celebramos otoño con una degustación de fruta que prepararon las familias, y disfrutamos de Halloween convirtiendo el cole en un pasaje del terror con mucha decoración y viniendo disfrazados. Resaltar que participó todo el centro, incluido el claustro: También, en otras de las actividades más destacada fue la elaboración de coronas. En las imágenes aparecen algunas de las coronas otoñales ganadoras, pero hubo una gran participación y el alumnado confeccionó verdaderas obras de arte naturales Además hemos conseguido algunos objetivos que nos habíamos propuesto y de los que os veníamos hablando. Por fin de terminó el rocódromo y ya lo estamos disfrutando, y la fachada del cole ahora luce mucho más bonita. Terrifying fun, autumnal crowns and lots more October was a very fun and terrifying month at our school. We celebrated autumn with a fruit tasting prepared by the families, and we enjoyed Halloween turning the school into a terrifying landscape with lots of decorations and we dressed up. It is worth highlighting that the entire school participated, including the teachers: Also, another of the most outstanding activities was the creation of crowns. The images show some of the winning autumn crowns, but there was a great level of participation and the pupils created true natural works of art. Also, we achieved some of the targets we had set and that we had been telling you about. Finally, the climbing wall was finished and we are now enjoying it, and the facade of the school now looks much prettier. Fundación La Caixa entregará material escolar a más de 200 familias locales con necesidades Más de 200 familias de San Roque con necesidades recibirán kits escolares de la Fundación La Caixa, que de esta forma vuelve a colaborar con el Ayuntamiento, esta vez entregando 215 kits escolares, valorados en unos 4 mil euros. El alcalde, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, y las tenientes de alcalde de Asuntos Sociales, Mónica Córdoba, y de Educación, Belén Jiménez, recibieron en el Consistorio a la directora del área de Negocios de La Caixa en el Campo de Gibraltar, María del Carmen Gago, para recibir el material y agradecerle su contribución año tras año.

Healing relationships in Nature

Mediación

When we consider our needs through plenitude and not through shortcomings, we transform them into creative challenges. Plenitude destroys judgement and victimisation in order to empathise with others in a calm and responsible way. This is the attitude of the “Integration” Motivational Attractor, that perspective from which we are able to understand the partiality of the narrowest visions. The problem is that this way of experiencing conflicts is difficult to extend among ourselves while the circumstances make the way it is done difficult. We live in a society that bombards us with messages of shortcoming, alarm and pessimism that lead to paralysis of the Being. Why does this happen? There are endless ways that we can justify this: because alarming news stories sell more; because politicians expend all their energy on defending some rather than others; because there are evil elites that are conspiring against humanity, etc. The list of justifications for not taking responsibility of the situation is endless. In every justification there is a logical and meaningful part, but also a clear hole for the most brutal ignorance. What can be done against this? An increasing number of people are beginning to seek answers from within and acknowledging the transformative power that each of us has within in order to make a change. Committing to the certainty that the future is in our hands and depends on our capacity to build healthy relationships, has its foundations in what is not only our essence, but rather also our great master: Nature. No matter how many obstacles we put up against it, nature always knows what to do to generate life and we simply have to observe it and humbly receive its lessons in order to find the solution for our human conflicts. This is where mediation is linked to permaculture, with the latter understood as a system of principles of agricultural, economic, political and social design based on the patterns and characteristics of the natural ecosystem. How can we interpret this ecosystem in order to build healthy relationships with our loved ones and the people who we encounter on a daily basis? In the 12 general principles of permaculture by David Holmgren, I have found a reflection of the attitude that helps us to establish relationships that are mutually beneficial with others: 1. Observing nature in all of its complexity shows us how important it is to analyse the problem of daily life considering different perspectives and points of view. 2. Rationalizing natural resources in times of abundance in order to use them when there is a shortage, involves working on, on an affective level, self-control and responsibility. 3. The capacity to build sustainable agreements with people close to us, is the same that makes it possible to create sustainable community and social relations. 4. Committing to assertive and respectful dialogue is the same as discouraging all activity that blocks the correct functioning of natural systems. 5. Using and valuing renewable services and resources means strengthening habits of consistency and commitment with ourselves and others. 6. Learning to turn difficulties into lessons is also recycling and not producing waste. 7. Getting used to observing patterns in nature encourages creativity and the reflexive capacity. 8. Just as every individual follows their own pace of personal development, nature puts the right things in the right places, enabling them to develop, create relationships and complement one another. 9. Small and slow ecosystems are easier to maintain than large ones as they take advantage of local resources and produce more sustainable results. This reminds us of the importance of hearing the opinion of all members of the family or team. 10. Well-integrated human diversity, just like that which we find in nature, combats vulnerability to threats and strengthens the environment where it arises. 11. The regenerative value of crises is reflected by observing boundaries in nature, the interface between land, water and air, where the greatest dynamism and wealth is found. 12. Responding creatively to inevitable change, is something that not only encourages our relationship with the ecosystem, but also our human relations. Indeed, in order to offer the chance to put this way of life into practice and resolve our personal conflicts, at CO-MEDIACION and Finca LA GLORIA we have created retreats for learning to apply the principles of permaculture to relationships with our closest being and main teachers: partner, parents, children, siblings, work colleagues, partners and friends. Sanar relaciones en la Naturaleza Cuando contemplamos nuestras necesidades desde la plenitud y no desde la carencia, las transformamos en desafíos creativos. La plenitud le da una patada al juicio y al victimismo para empatizar con los demás de forma serena y responsable. Esta es la actitud del Atractor Motivacional “Integración”, esa perspectiva desde la que somos capaces de comprender la parcialidad de visiones más estrechas. El problema es que esta manera vivir los conflictos difícilmente puede extenderse entre nosotros mientras las circunstancias lo dificultan de la manera que lo hacen. Vivimos en una sociedad que nos bombardea con mensajes de carencia, alarma y pesimismo que inducen a la parálisis del Ser. ¿Por qué ocurre esto? Las justificaciones que le podemos dar son numerosísimas: porque las noticias alarmantes venden más; porque los políticos gastan toda su energía en defenderse unos frente a otros; porque existen unas elites malignas que conspiran contra la humanidad, etc. La lista de justificaciones para no responsabilizarnos de la situación es interminable. En cada justificación hay una parte de lógica y sentido, pero también un flamante hueco para la ignorancia más brutal. ¿Qué se puede hacer frente a esto? Cada vez más personas están comenzando a buscar respuestas en su interior y reconociendo el poder transformativo que todos y cada uno de nosotros tenemos dentro para promover un cambio. Apostar por la certeza de que el futuro está en nuestras manos y depende de nuestra capacidad de construir relaciones saludables, encuentra su fundamento en lo que no sólo es nuestra esencia, sino también nuestra gran maestra: la Naturaleza. Por muchas trabas que le pongamos, ella siempre sabe qué hacer para generar vida y basta con observarla y humildemente recibir sus enseñanzas para encontrar la solución a nuestros conflictos humanos. Aquí es donde enlaza la mediación con la permacultura entendida como ese sistema de principios de diseño agrícola, económico, político y social basado en los patrones y las características del ecosistema natural. ¿Cómo podemos interpretar dicho ecosistema para construir relaciones saludables con nuestros seres queridos y las personas con las que, en nuestro día a día, nos encontramos? Golf y Valderrama en estado puro. Una vez el mítico, histórico y ya legendario hoyo 17 volvió a dictar sentencia y ser gran protagonista en la resolución de un gran torneo como su misticismo merece. Matt Fritzpatrick se proclamó en Valderrama con una meritoria vic-

toria en el Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucía Masters 2021 tras una gran semana de juego, con una regularidad excelsa pese a lo siempre complejo y técnico del trazado, que le permitió con rumbo sólido llegar con opciones al final del torneo y adjudicarse la victoria. El británico

finalizó con un total de 278 golpes (-6), con tres golpes de ventaja respecto al podio. Destacar que tan sólo 14 jugadores logran finalizar el torneo por debajo del par del campo. El 17: gran protagonista Cuando el sueco Soderberg marchaba líder y con tintes de candidato el triunfo final, un doble bogey en el emblemático hoyo 17 lo dejó fuera de la pugna y sirvió en bandeja de plata a Fritzpatrick el triunfo y que como gran jugador no dejó pasar la oportunidad y selló dos birdies consecutivos en el 16 y el 17. Con el británico en lo más alto de la clasificación y la segunda plaza compartida entre Soderberg y el australiano Lee, tras ellos: Morrison (UK), Fox (Nueva Zelanda), Rock (UK), Zanotti (Paraguay), Björk (Suecia), Carter (UK) y Lipsky (USA), completan el top ten del torneo con una bolsa a repartir de tres millones de euros en total.

‘Alcaidesa Marina’ se adjudica el segundo asalto del Circuito Alcaidesa Marina de J/80 M.G.

El monotipo ‘Alcaidesa Marina’ se hizo con la segunda entrega del Circuito Alcaidesa Marina de J/80 autumn Series. La tripulación liderada por el canario Gustavo Martínez Doreste ganaba las tres pruebas, la suma de un

primero y un segundo y el descarte de un quinto, les vale para proclamarse vencedores con relativa ventaja. Los de Doreste aguantaron primeros desde el inicio de esta jornada, aunque siendo justos,

en la final el mejor fue el ‘Península’ de Oliver Góngora con un segundo, un primero y un tercero con los que sin embargo no pudo hacer más, ante unas rentas, las del ‘Alcaidesa Marina’, infalibles. En su caso des-

cartó un quinto de la jornada anterior y se clasificó segundo con cuatro puntos más. El tercer puesto fue para otro de los equipos más peleones del fin de semana, el ‘Eureka Tech’ de Rafael Díaz Soria, que volvió a competir en la cabeza, acabando las pruebas en tercer lugar las dos primeras y cuarto la siguiente. Los vigentes campeones de Andalucía descartaron un cuarto como peor resultado y firmaron el tercer puesto con cinco puntos más que los anteriores. Intensa fue también la lucha entre los barcos ‘Aponia Racing’ de Petter Fjelstad y ‘Tacuarita’ de Horacio Cardarelli con Iñaki Castañer al mando, que deci-

Golf adaptado: el orgullo de La Cañada • Más de 160 participantes de todo el Campo de Gibraltar disfrutan cada miércoles de la Escuela de Golf Adaptado, uno de los proyectos sociales más destacados de la zona. • La Fundación de La Caixa colabora con una aportación de 6.000 euros para la adquisición de material especializado para esta actividad.

Si hay algo de lo que la comunidad golfística del Valle del Guadiaro se puede sentir especialmente satisfecha y orgullosa, más concretamente los miembros del Club de Golf Municipal La Cañada, es de una iniciativa que desde hace años integra de una manera sobresaliente el golf en todos los escenarios de la sociedad. El Golf Adaptado es uno de los grandes valores y señas de identidad de una institución y una comunidad que vive y disfruta el golf de una manera superlativa a nivel formativo, participativo y pedagógico. Cada miércoles, más de 160 participantes (en tramos y jornadas rotativas) pertenecientes a tres entidades del Campo de Gibraltar (Fegadi, Apadis y Asansull), reci-

ben clases de golf en la Escuela del Club Municipal La Cañada. Una enriquecedora e integradora acción social que refleja y aporta todos esos valores del deporte: compañerismo, superación, respecto, ejercicio físico al aire libre, etc. con una vertiente muy positiva para todos estos usuarios y participantes. “Es una de nuestras escuelas más importantes y de la que más orgullosos nos sentimos”, explica Ignacio Sánchez, director general de La Cañada. “Estas asociaciones acuden de manera gratuita, el club se encarga de buscar la financiación y entidades colaboradoras para ofrecer esta iniciativa con participantes de toda el Campo de Gibraltar e incluso algunos llegados desde la Costa del Sol”, detalla. “Nuestros

profesores están formados para ofrecer ese tipo de clases y cada miércoles hacen disfrutar a todos los participantes. Además organizamos, para darles más motivación y alciente, al menos dos grandes competiciones al año (Navidad y primavera). Todo lo hacemos en la calle de práctica y nos da mucha alegría tener esta actividad en el club”, añade. Son más que palpables los enormes beneficios para los integrantes de esta actividad en áreas como coordinación, disciplina, integración y demás. “Les ayuda a sentirse útiles y a practicar un deporte que en teoría debería ser bastante complejo para ellos. Vienen, disfrutan, juegan y se les nota en la cara esa alegría. Están totalmente integrados en la dinámica del club y los socios están encantados de acoger esta iniciativa en el campo”, afirma Sánchez. “Por todo ello, agradecer, como es el caso de La Fundación de La Caixa, su aportación y colaboración tan importante y necesaria de diferentes entidades para asegurar en el tiempo el desarrollo y viabilidad de este importantísimo y fundamental proyecto social como es la Escuela de Golf Adaptado”, subraya el mandatario. Sin duda, el Golf Adaptado es una de los grandes ejemplos de la integración, importancia y valor social que tiene este deporte en el Valle del Guadiaro.

La Fundación de La Caixa, un valedor necesario La Fundación de La Caixa y su Obra Social es unos de los grandes aliados de la Escuela de Golf Adaptado de La Cañada para poder desarrollar esta actividad. Con sus colaboraciones económicas impulsan y hacen posible el desarrollo de estos talleres y escuelas que tanto beneficio aportan a los usuarios. Así lo explica María del Carmen Gago. “Para nosotros es un orgullo poder colaborar y participar con acciones así, con gente que dedica su tiempo y esfuerzo y mejorar la vida de otras personas que están su alrededor. Cada año tratamos de ayudar a La Cañada con al Escuela de Golf Adaptado y en este caso vamos a colaborar con 6.000 euros para la compra y adquisición de material especializado para estos usuarios”, explica. “Es cierto que estamos desde La Fundación de la Caixa, a raíz de la pandemia, estamos muy volcados en la ayuda social y en combatir los estadios de pobreza o precariedad alimentaria pero como entidad financiera lo que nos hace diferentes, nuestro valor diferencial, es colaborar con todos estos proyectos tan necesarios y beneficiosos para la comunidad del Valle del Guadiaro y del Campo de Gibraltar, en este caso, y a toda la sociedad en general”, afirma.

Adapted golf: pride of La Cañada • Every Wednesday more than 160 participants from all over Campo de Gibraltar enjoy the Adapted Golf School, one of the most outstanding social projects in the area. • La Caixa Foundation is collaborating with a contribution of 6,000 Euros for the purchase of specialised material for this activity. If there is something that the Golfing community of Valle del Guadiaro can feel especially satisfied and proud of, more specifically the members of La Cañada Municipal Golf Club, it is an initiative that, for years, has integrated all sectors of society in an outstanding way. Adapted Golf is one of the great assets and hallmarks of an institution and a community that lives and enjoys golf in a superb way in terms of training, participation and teaching. Every Wednesday, more than 160 participants (in periods and rotational days) belonging to the three entities of Campo de Gibraltar (Fegadi, Apadis and Asansull), receive golf classes at La Cañada Municipal Golf School. An enriching and integrative social action that reflects and contributes all the values of sport: camaraderie, improvement, respect, exercise outdoors, etc., with a very posi-

tive aspect for all the users and participants. “It is one of our most important schools and one that we feel most proud of” explains Ignacio Sánchez, director general of La Cañada. “These associations come for free, the club looks for the funding and collaborative entities to offer this initiative with participants from all over Campo de Gibraltar and even some from the Costa del Sol” he states. “Our coaches are trained to offer these types of classes and every Wednesday all the participants enjoy them. We also organise at least two big competitions a year (Christmas and spring) to give them more motivation and encouragement. We do everything on the practice range and we are very happy to have this activity at the club” he adds. The enormous benefits for the members of this activity in areas such as coordination, dis-

cipline, integration and other aspects are really palpable. “It helps them to feel useful and practice a sport that, in theory, should be quite difficult for them. They come, have fun, play and you can see that joy on their faces. They are fully integrated into the club dynamic and the members are delighted to welcome this initiative to the course” states Sánchez. “As a result of all this we want to thank La Caixa Foundation for its contribution and the collaboration that is so important and necessary from different entities to ensure the development and viability over time of this extremely important and crucial social project with the Adapted Golf School” highlights the leader. Undoubtedly, Adapted Golf is one of the great examples of integration, importance and the social value that this sport has in Valle del Guadiaro.

Un cierre de altura, un broche de oro de primer nivel. El extraordinario recorrido de Fairplay Golf & Spa, un resort cinco estrellas de primer nivel, acoge la quinta y última prueba puntuable de la octava edición del Circuito. Más de medio centenar de jugadores disfrutaron de una jornada espléndida de juego y buen tiempo, siempre con el mejor ambiente del circuito, para sellar y apuntalar sus resultados de cara a la clasificación y acceso a la Gran Final de Valderrama. The fabulous Fairplay Golf & Spa course, a top-level five-star resort, hosted the fifth and final qualifying event of the eighth edition of the Circuit. More than one hundred players enjoyed a splendid day of play and a good atmosphere to strengthen their ranking ahead of the grand finale at Valderrama, next November.

A fitting ending, a top-level finishing touch. The extraordinary Fairplay Golf & Spa course, a top-level five-star resort, hosted the fifth and final qualifying event of the eighth edition of the Circuit. More than one hundred players enjoyed a splendid day of play and good weather, always with the best atmosphere on the circuit, to seal and underpin their results ahead of the ranking and to gain access to the Grand Finale at Valderrama. With consecutive tees from 9.30 am, the golfers found a course in fantastic condition (congratulations and compliments to all the local staff for all their organisation and how the course looked). A fun course, with technical areas and some very interesting holes that

caused difficulties for the participants. After the golf, it was time to enjoy a fantastic cocktail at the marvellous hotel and gastronomic complex, where, in addition, as always, to enjoying the Marqués de Riscal wines, those in attendance enjoyed a top-level ham courtesy of Popi Jamones along with a professional ham cutter. As for the winners: Christopher Haigh won the Men´s Longest Drive and Marisa Artes was a triple prize-winner, winning the Closest Ball and the Longest Drive in the Women´s category. As for the Women´s Category: Marisa Artes took victory, followed by Diane Bradbury and Carmen Merino. In the Men´s Second Category, victory went to Paul Mercer, followed by Rafael

Ruiz and Marcelo Cabrera; while in the Men´s First Category, victory went to Javier Mielgo, followed by Juan Manuel García Vega and Antonio Ramírez. A special mention goes to Juan Manuel Araujo who was awarded the Gilmar Grand Prix which earned him a place at Real Club Valderrama and a weekend in Montecastillo. Esta anómala situación, poco a poco esta cada vez más cerca de su fin, llegando a una seminormalidad en la que Hollywood va sacando ‘taquillazos’ para ir tomándole el pulso al momento actual de las salas, con espectadores cada vez más ansiosos por llenarlas.

esde hace algunos años dedicamos esta última página del periódico a la sección ‘Rincones de Sotogrande’. Un espacio diseñado para colgar imágenes históricas, del archivo propiedad de Grupo HCP, en el que damos a conocer los comienzos de la urbanización e imágenes para el recuerdo de las últimas décadas. Además, durante todo este 2019, aprovechando el 40 aniversario de la agencia inmobiliaria Holmes Sotogrande, también se distribuirán con El Periódico de Sotogrande unas postales que aportarán más imágenes, datos curiosos y anécdotas de los primeros años de Sotogrande. ¡No se las pueden perder!
