Nos llenamos en muchas ocasiones la boca de presumir de nuestro privilegiado entorno vital. La baja densidad de construcción, la calidad de vida, el contacto con la naturaleza, los espacios verdes, los fabulosos “jardines de Sotogrande” [sus aclamados campos de golf, auténticos paraísos medioambientales] y todas esas maravillas que nos llenan la vista en la urbanización. Todo cierto pero en ocasiones pecamos de tener la vista un poco corta. Es más que evidente la importancia y conciencia que existe en toda la comunidad de Sotogrande y sus diferentes instituciones sobre la sostenibilidad y el uso de prácticas perfectamente integradas con el medio ambiente, hasta ahí no existe discusión ninguna pero no podemos perder perspectiva de lo que podría estar más en nuestra mano y dejamos pasar. Más allá de una reclamación ecologista, nada más lejos de ello, sí se debe pelear por conservar la pureza y la gentileza de nuestro entorno natural. Qué tipo de imagen exterior o internacional pueden dar noticias a nuestro alrededor como el bloqueo de la desembocadura del río Guadiaro o la pérdida constante de arena que ha provocado daños en la depuradora y el desprendimiento del búnker en la playa de Sotogrande. Todo ello, mezclado, hace un daño muy elevado, en la imagen de destino medioambientalmente sostenible que muchas entidades luchan día a día por conseguir. Especialmente, aquellas que invierten ingentes cantidades de dinero en la optimización de recursos (como ciertos campos de golf, de sobra conocidos y que tanto invierten en la conservación del medio). Permanezcamos vigilantes, nosotros como medio de comunicación los primeros, por evitar que se produzcan situaciones así y en tal caso denunciarles y ponerle voz ante las administraciones o entidades competentes en el asunto. Sólo con esa actitud conseguiremos transmitir, en todas las ocasiones, la imagen de Sotogrande como ese idílico destino sostenible para el que todos trabajamos. Aprovechamos también para felicitarles fiestas y desearles que disfruten de una feliz navidad junto a su familia y amigos y de una buena entrada de año nuevo. Nosotros seguiremos contándole todo cuanto ocurre en su urbanización.

We often have our mouth full boasting about the privileged environment we live in. The low building density, the quality of life, contact with nature, green spaces, the fabulous “gardens of Sotogrande (its acclaimed golf courses, true environmental paradises) and all the wonders that fill our eyes in the resort. All true, but sometimes we are guilty of being a little short-sighted. It is very clear how much importance and awareness there is in the entire Sotogrande community and its different institutions regarding sustainability and the use of practices perfectly integrated into the environment, there is no argument there but we shouldn´t lose sight of what could be in our hands and that we miss out on. Beyond an environmental appeal, nothing further from the truth, it is necessary to fight to conserve the purity and grace of our natural environment. What kind of outside or international image could be provided by news around us such as the blockage of the mouth of the Guadiaro river or the constant loss of sand that has caused damage to the treatment plant and the detachment of the bunker on Sotogrande beach. All of this, mixed together, does a lot of damage, to the image of an environmentally sustainable destination that may entities fight on a daily basis to achieve. Especially, those that invest huge sums of money in the optimisation of resources (such as certain golf courses, that are very well-known and that invest so much in preserving the environment). We should remain vigilant, us first as a media outlet, to prevent situations like those taking place and in such a case we should condemn them and have our voices heard by the administrations and entities that have responsibilities for the matter. Only through this attitude will we manage to transmit, on all occasions, the image of Sotogrande as the sustainable idyllic destination that we are all working for. We also want to take this chance to wish you happy holidays and hope that you enjoy a happy Christmas with your family and friends and a good start to the New Year. Toca despedir un año que al igual que su antecesor, difícilmente olvidaremos por cuestiones más que evidentes y pandémicas. Un ciclo más que marcar en el revólver y en su vertiente más positiva dentro de las circunstancias, un impulso casi sin precedentes en la última década para el crecimiento, desarrollo y actividad en los mercados más fluctuantes en Sotogrande (inmobiliario, productos de lujo y calidad de vida). A lo largo de este ejercicio hemos comprobado en casi todos los sectores con cierta repercusión e influencia en la micro-economía sotograndina y local un repunte de considerables cuotas. Lo que se traduce en un vaticinio más que exponencial de optimismo cara al próximo enero. Sotogrande es y será capaz de lo mejor eso es más que evidente. Tiene la singularidad de un entorno geográfico privilegiado, el contexto perfecto, la historia adecuada y las herramientas innatas que demanda medio mundo a la hora de adquirir o invertir por encima del millón o millón y medio de euro [más de una agencia se ha apuntado este curso ventas de un inmueble por encima de los nueve millones de euros y puede que alguna en una cifra aún superior]. Este destino tiene o roza la excelencia en conceptos tan clarividentes para convencer a un inversor como son: seguridad, educación, excelencia, calidad, lujo, entidades deportivas de primer nivel, comunidad internacional, prestaciones de gran alcance y hasta nuevas e innovadoras plazas hoteleras del mayor rango posible. ¿Quién da más? Muy pocos en el mercado europeo y por eso Sotogrande se posiciona en un lugar preferente para sacar lo mejor de sí mismo en los próximos años y rentabilizarlo. It is time to bid farewell to a year which, just like its predecessor, we will find tough to forget for very clear and pandemic reasons. Another cycle to mark on the revolver and its most positive aspect considering the circumstances, an almost unprecedented boost in the last decade for growth, development and activity in the most fluctuating markets in Sotogrande (property, luxury products and quality of life). Throughout this year we have seen an upturn of considerable figures in almost all the sectors with a certain impact and influence in the Sotogrande and local micro-economy. This results in a truly exponential prediction of optimism ahead of next January. Sotogrande is and will be capable of the best, that is very clear. It has the uniqueness of a privileged geographic area, the perfect setting, the right history and the innate tools required by everyone when it comes to purchasing or investing over a million or one and a half million Euros (this year more than one agency has recorded sales for a property of over nine million Euros and some perhaps at even higher figures). This destination has or comes close to excellence in very clear concepts to convince an investor such as: security, education, excellence, quality, luxury, top-level sporting entities, the international community, wide-ranging services and even new and innovative hotel spaces of the greatest possible range. Who offers more? Very few places on the European market and that is why Sotogrande is positioned in a preferential place for getting the best out of itself over the coming years and capitalizing on it. From the conclusions of the successful XII edition of the Sotogrande Business Forum, once again organised this year by Grupo HCP and on this occasion at an exceptional setting like Real Club Valderrama, created and offer an image that is very befitting of all these reflections and arguments that invite optimism and good forecasts for the next economic year of 2022. Los ecologistas advierten del peligro y la erosión en la playa de Sotogrande Con un anuncio rotundo y contundente el grupo Verdemar Ecologistas en Acción del Campo de Gibraltar alerta sobre la delicada situación de la playa de Sotogrande en la actualidad e incluso apunta que si se continúa sin tomar medidas puede que ser pierda parta de la playa en el próximo lustro. “La erosión antrópica hará que en 5 años se pierda parte de la playa de Sotogrande – Guadalquitón”, así lo especifica. El colectivo entiende que “los últimos espigones de protección han

provocado la pérdida de más de 50 metros de playa del P N de Los Alcornocales, en Guadalquitón” y adelantan que solicitarán a la Junta de Andalucía “unos exámenes de la posible alteración de la playa por la instalación de dos espigones para la protección del Club de Playa Trocadero” . Ya que entienden que esa medida está “alterando el litoral”. La entidad ecologista explica que ha denunciado esta situación ante la Dirección General de la Costa y el Mar del Ministerio para la Transición Ecoló-

gica y el Reto Demográfico (MITECO). Argumentan que se trata de un “problema multifuncional , que los trasvases, las captaciones de agua y extracciones de áridos han restado miles de metros cúbicos de guijarros que regeneran dicha playa, pero los nuevos diques y el puerto de Sotogrande ha acelerado la erosión de la misma. Las viviendas que se hicieron antes de la Ley de Costas peligran , el agua de mar ha entrado en ella en el último temporal”, matizan. “Esto no

sólo está causando una pérdida de costa, sino que está teniendo unas consecuencias sociales tremendas. Los efectos devastadores que han ocasionado los diques y el puerto en las playas son irreversibles. Cada año, después de los temporales de levante, la playa de Sotogrande pierde arena”. También inciden en la problemática actual en la que “el mar ha entrado en el Búnker y ha dañando la depuradora de Sotogrande” y advierten que de no tomar decisiones “mañana todas las aguas residua-

les de Sotogrande irán al mar, porque el próximo temporal hundirá la depuradora”. Verdemar Ecologistas emprenderá una campaña para la recuperación del Búnker y para resolver el problema del litoral en la zona humanizada y la playa virgen protegida del P N de Los Alcornocales.

Storm causes detachment of bunker in Sotogrande Another consequence of the strong storm that hit all of Campo de Gibraltar at the weekend (19-21 November), and particularly the entire coastline of Valle del Guadiaro and Sotogrande. In this case, the bunker located next to the beach club and the beach club it gives its name to, became detached due to the strong waves and the encroachment of the sea and loss of sand. Deseos económicos para 2022 En estas fechas es habitual expresar los mejores deseos para el año próximo, y en particular un deseo económico: prosperidad. Un 2022 realmente próspero debería darnos tres buenas noticias: más crecimiento y empleo, menos inflación y menos impuestos. Tener una economía y un mercado laboral más dinámicos el año próximo es posible. Aunque los organismos internacionales han ido recortando las estimaciones del Gobierno español para el PIB de 2021, la economía ha crecido con respecto al año anterior, y no se espera que 2022 sea peor que este año. El FMI redujo su estimación para 2021 al 5,7 %, pero elevó la de 2022 al 6,4 %. La Comisión Europea espera que el PIB suba un 4,6 % este año y el 5,5 % el próximo. Y según Funcas la economía ha crecido un 5,1 % en 2021 y lo hará un 6 % en 2022. Hemos terminado el año con unos ritmos de inflación mensual superiores al 5 %, cifras que España no registraba desde hace treinta años, y que situarán la subida me-

dia anual del IPC en 2021 en torno al 2,5 %. Los analistas han ido ajustando al alza sus previsiones, pero la opinión general es que la tasa se irá moderando a lo largo de 2022. En este mundo de incertidumbre, solo hay dos cosas indudablemente ciertas: la muerte y los impuestos, como dijo Benjamín Franklin. Y si las previsiones de aumento del PIB y de los precios pueden ser puestas en duda, la re-

ducción de impuestos que anhela la mayoría de los contribuyentes es imposible. Lo más que podemos pedir es que el aumento de la presión fiscal no sea demasiado asfixiante, y que el dolor sea anestesiado por el crecimiento de la economía. A pesar de todo, deseo a los lectores de El Periódico de Sogrande una Feliz Navidad y, sí, también un próspero año nuevo.

The most we can ask for is that the increase in tax pressure is not too stifling, and the pain is numbed by the growth of the economy. El plazo estimado de ejecución está previsto que sea de un mes y medio, siempre que las condiciones climatológicas no sean especialmente adversas.

Se pone en marcha la ﬁnalización de las obras en el cruce de la Av. de Los Cortijos La EUC Parques de Sotogrande informó de que ya contaba en su poder y habían recibido la autorización pertinente por parte del Ayuntamiento de San Roque para la ejecución de las obras de recuperación del paso subterráneo del arroyo Guadalquitón y

los viales en el cruce de las Avenidas de los Cortijos y del Carmen, una vez se obtuvo la correspondiente resolución favorable de la Junta de Andalucía. Una dato que ya adelantó El Periódico de Sotogrande el pasado 30 de noviembre, tras ser objeto de debate durante la

celebración del XII Foro Empresarial Sotogrande, organizado por Grupo HCP. Así, la entidad anunció el “reinicio las obras proyectadas para la mejora del paso subterráneo del arroyo Guadalquitón y la recuperación definitiva de los viales de las avenidas

afectadas. El plazo estimado de finalización está previsto que sea de un mes y medio, siempre que las condiciones climatológicas no sean especialmente adversas. Poniendo de esta manera fin a uno de los grandes culebrones en Sotogrande durante

todo el año 2021 y que felizmente se verá resuelto.

La obligación de presentar el mejor Sotogrande • Las magníficas instalaciones del Real Club Valderrama acogen la duodécima edición del Foro Empresarial Sotogrande. Una cita anual, organizada por Grupo HCP, que reúne a más de medio centenar de los principales agentes económicos y sociales de la urbanización para analizar las debilidades y fortalezas del destino.

Un panorama internacional propicio para la inversión y el crecimiento económico, sumado a un entorno privilegiado y único en el sur de Europa. El momento socio-económico que atraviesan los mercados propician una inercia de crecimiento y desarrollo para el destino Sotogrande con un gran salto que no se daba desde hacía décadas. Así lo expresaban y recogían los testimonios de la exitosa duodécima edición del Foro Empresarial Sotogrande, cita anual que organiza Grupo HCP, celebrada en esta ocasión en las extraordinarias instalaciones del Real Club Valderrama. Tras la bienvenida, introducción y saludos protocolarios de José Luis García, presidente de Grupo HCP que repasó con un exhaustivo análisis el contexto actual a nivel económico y social del complejo, dio comienzo una nueva edición del reconocido foro empresarial. El resto de la mesa presidencial estuvo compuesto por Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, alcalde de San Roque; Nicolás Moncada, jefe del área de Urbanismo del Ayto. de San Roque; Roberto Roca, CEO de Sotogrande S.A. y Javier Reviriego, director general del Real Club Valderrama y anfitrión del evento. Destacar que la cita que al final del debate-coloquio los presentes pudieron disfrutar de una alocución muy ilustrativa y en exclusiva del reconocido conferenciante

Emilio Duró. Una ponencia de altura. Inversión y expansión en Sotogrande Las importantes actuaciones y planes de desarrollo que la empresa matriz, Sotogrande S.A., ha efectuado en los últimos dos años, incluso en plena pandemia, gozaron de gran parte de protagonismo en el análisis, tras las exhaustiva y positiva valoración de su CEO, Roberto Roca. Sin señalar la cifra exacta aunque el número circulaba en la información de prácticamente todos los presentes, elogió el gran trabajo en inversión para transformar en el último año el Hotel Almenara en lo que es hoy, SO/ Sotogrande, un resort hotelero cinco estrellas gran lujo y referente en todo el sur de Andalucía. Destacar que durante las semanas más incipientes de la obra, sólo paró 15 días de obligado cumplimiento al inicio del confinamiento, llegó a reunir a más de 350/360 trabajadores diarios al mismo tiempo en el espacio de construcción. A la vista está el excelente resultado, un resort impresionante, que desde el mismo momento de su apertura (final de julio), contó con rotundos llenos durante la temporada alta y no ha cesado una importante actividad en el hotel tras el verano.

A nivel inmobiliario se puso en valor importante apuesta de Village Verde, un complejo residencial de muy alto nivel situado en La Reserva de Sotogrande que viene a unirse a los diferentes proyectos de expansión que la matriz lleva desde hace años en este sector de la urbanización. Un proyecto completamente integrado en el entorno, rodeado de naturaleza y difícil de ver en esta zona. También se adelantaron los planes de construcción de diferentes villas en la zona alta dónde se ubica The Beach, que actualmente atraviesan un concurso de arquitectura para planificar su estilo, diseño y construcción. Pero de igual modo avanza de manera intensa. El éxito y crecimiento de The Beach o las continuas mejoras e incrementos de nivel en el campo de golf ubican a La Reserva Club y su comunidad en el centro del foco de la inversión y expansión de Sotogrande. Valderrama, siempre líder en innovación Hablar del Real Club Valderrama o entrar en su debate es un análisis superfluo y estéril. Hablar del Real Club Valderrama es referirse al inconformismo más positivo y la continua búsqueda de la excelencia en innovación y técnicas avanzadas para la optimización de recursos y mejora del ren-

dimiento del club y todas sus instalaciones [si ello es posible]. Así lo transmitió su director general, Javier Reviriego a quién siempre es un lujo escuchar sus constantes planes de mejor y desarrollo de la entidad. Repasó con contrastada información, junto a todos los asistentes, la evolución muy positiva a raíz de la pandemia en el sector inmobiliario y turístico deportivo de lujo para Sotogrande. Con ese evidente cambio en el lifestyle tradicional que en muchas ocasiones situaba a la urbanización para el residente como su segunda o incluso tercera vivienda. Tras los acontecimientos de los dos últimos años, las prioridades de vida se alteran y demandan destinos como Sotogrande, con baja densidad de construcción, espacios abiertos, naturaleza, deporte, familia, educación y

seguridad de primer nivel. Incluso adelantó que este cambio de paradigma multiplica la presencia del socio en club, lo que seguramente les llevará a tomar decisiones cara a 2022 sobre el espacio para visitantes. También repasó aunque sin poder dar muchos detalles, lógicamente, el proyecto de futuro en el plano golfístico del que se habla mucho en los últimos meses, con una posible unión entre el circuito europeo y americano para fortalecer una competición del máximo nivel. Poco se sabe a ciencia cierta de las posibilidades reales de que este proyecto vea sus frutos en 2023 pero Revirigo confirmó la intención y conversaciones por parte de Valderrama de ser una de las sedes, en tal caso y seguir creciendo para ofrecer un torneo mejor, si cabe, del que celebra anualmente. Respecto a los planes de inversión en el club no dudó en potenciar esa inercio y objetivo en el que trabaja Valderrama desde hace años que lo convierte, con toda seguridad, en el club más sostenible e integrado con el medio ambiente de España y de los primeros de todo el continente. Detalló, como ya avanzó en la edición de agosto de La Revista de Sotogrande el presidente de Valderrama, Nuno de Brito, la construcción de un voluminoso lago en una zona que no tenía uso específico en el campo para embalsar agua durante el invierno y poder utilizarla en los momentos más álgidos de la temporada estival. Explicó que ésta y otras muchas medidas (variedad de hierba, reducción de tratamientos químicos, optimización del agua, inversión en maquinaria híbrida y eléctrica), permiten a Valde-

rrama liderar como entidad deportiva esa apuesta por la sostenibilidad como previsión de escenarios futuros. Planes municipales y desarrollo urbanístico El alcalde de San Roque, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, también participó del debate acompañado del jefe de Urbanismo, Nicolás Moncada, para realizar las apreciaciones técnicas de la importante actividad urbanística y de desarrollo que se está llevando a cabo en el municipio en los últimos tiempos. Concretamente, entre los planes públicos y privados en San Roque se están trabajando en ma´s de 600 nuevas residencias en las diferentes áreas y zonas del

municipio, así como de diferentes estándares y público objetivo. Detalle que también repasó el primer edil animando a la inversión de promotoras a la vivienda pública. Ensalzó el ‘masterplan’ tanto de la empresa matriz de Sotogrande como de Millennium Hotels en Alcaidesa [reconvertido en La Hacienda], con dos importantísimos desarrollos que elevan el nivel y la barrera del destino, no sólo por la construcción de ambos hoteles y residencias de lujo, sino por la inversión en la mejora de campos de golf e incremento de calidad. También repasó el trabajo que ya se ejecuta para el Plan parcial de Los Pinos, algo que lleva en marcha desde 2015 y que mejorará con suelo comercial, hotelero y

residencial todo el área colindante a las instalaciones de polo [las mejores de Europa especificó], y el Plan Especial de Ayala dedicado a desestacionalizar la temporada ecuestre en el Valle del Guadiaro y fomentar una actividad de doce meses dedicada al caballo gracias al desarrollo de esas ‘mini-fiincas’. Adelantó la existencia de un “inversor sostenible” para la zona de Borondo, que conecta Alcaidesa con Sotogrande, con un atractivo plan de turismo natural y de aventura. Todo ello, al igual que los planes anteriores, desde el respeto y la convivencia con el medio y esa dualidad que hace tan potente a San Roque como municipio, que permite aunar industria y turismo de alta calidad. Avenida de Los Cortijos Como era de esperar, la rehabilitación del cruce de la Av. de Los Cortijos, cortado desde el temporal del pasado mayo, fue uno de los principales temas de debate en el coloquio por las tremendas e inoportunas consecuencias negativas que ha tenido todo este periplo de incomodidades para resientes, visitantes, huéspedes del hotel, servi-

cios y todo el interminable trámite administrativo y burocrático. Tanto los representantes del Ayuntamiento, como el gerente de la EUC Parques de Sotogrande, contribuyeron a detallar la complejidad del proyecto en sí ya que requiere de la intervención de una obra de ingeniería, con la instalación de un nuevo paso inferior del arroyo con unas dimensiones de 8x3 metros. Todo ello, además de la preparación y estudio del pertinente proyecto, según pudo explicar el alcalde, acarrea una serie de procedimientos administrativos entre Ayuntamiento y Junta de Andalucía, una relación que no siempre es sencilla, más aún con gobiernos de diferente signo político

(en palabras del propio regidor) y que hacen ralentizar aún más los pasos para llevar a cabo su ejecución. Ambas entidades comunicaron a los presentes que felizmente todo los trámites ya se han completado y la obra se encuentra en marcha. Todo indica que para final de año o principios de 2022 como muy tarde, debería estar todo arreglado. Extraordinaria edición del Foro Empresarial Sotogrande con la presencia de más de 70 agentes y empresarios. The obligation to present the best Sotogrande • The magnificent facilities of Real Club Valderrama hosted the twelfth edition of Sotogrande Business Forum, an annual event that brings together more than fifty of the main economic and social agents in the resort to analyse the weaknesses and strengths of the destination. A favourable international panorama for investment and economic growth, along with a privileged and unique environment in the south of Europe. The socio-economic moment that markets are going through encourages trend of growth and development for the Sotogrande destination with a great leap that hadn´t been taken for decades. This was expressed and outlined in the testimonies of the successful twelfth edition of Sotogrande Business Forum, an annual event organised by Grupo HCP, held on this occasion at the extraordinary facilities of Real Club Valderrama. Following the welcome, introduction and formal greetings by José Luis García, president of Grupo HCP who provided a thorough analysis of the current context at an economic and social level of the resort, who got a new edition of the renowned business forum underway. The rest of the presidential table was formed by Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, mayor of San Roque; Nicolás Moncada, head of the Urban Development department of the Council of San Roque; Roberto Roca, CEO of Sotogrande S.A. and Javier Reviriego, director general of Real Club Valderrama and host of the event. It is worth highlighting that at the end of the debate-chat, those attending were able to enjoy a very informative and enlightening speech by the renowned speaker Emilio Duró. A befitting speech. Investment and expansion in Sotogrande The important actions and development plans that the parent company, Sotogrande S.A., has carried out over the last two years, even in the midst of the

pandemic, enjoyed a large part of the spotlight in the analysis, following the thorough and positive assessment by its CEO, Roberto Roca. Without pointing out the exact figure although the number circulated in the information of practically everyone present, he praised the great investment work over the last year to transform Hotel Almenara into what it is today, SO/ Sotogrande, a five-star grand luxe hotel resort and a benchmark in the entire south of Andalusia. It is worth highlighting that during the earliest weeks of the work, it only stopped for 15 days when required to at the start of lockdown, it brought together more than 350/360 workers a day at the same time on the construction site. The excellent result is obvious, an impressive resort, which from the time it opened (end of July), had resounding successes during the peak season and significant activity at the hotel has not stopped after summer. of The Beach and the ongoing improvements and increases in the level of the golf course place La Reserva Club and its community at the centre of the focus for the investment in and expansion of Sotogrande. Valderrama, always a leader for innovation Talking about Real Club Valderrama or getting into a debate about it is a superfluous and sterile debate. Talking about Real Club Valderrama means referring to the most positive non-conformity and constant pursuit of excellence in innovation and advanced techniques for the optimisation of resources and the improved performance of the club and all its facilities (if possible). This was conveyed by its director general, Javier Reviriego, who it is always a pleasure to hear talk about the club´s constant plans for improvement and development. Using verified information, alongside everyone attending, he looked at the very positive evolution, as a result of the pandemic, in the luxury property and sports tourism sector for Sotogrande.

With that clear change in the traditional lifestyle that often made the resort the second or even third home of residents. After the events of the last two years, the life priorities have changed and people request destinations like Sotogrande, with a low construction density, open spaces, nature, sport, family, education and top-level security. He even announced that this paradigm shirt multiplies the presence of club members, which will surely lead them to take decisions ahead of 2022 regarding the space for visitors. He also outlined, although without being able to give many details, logically, the future project on a golfing level, about which there has been a lot of talk over recent months, with a possible union between the European and American circuits to strengthen a top-level competition. Little is known with certainty about the actual possibilities of this project bearing its fruits in 2023 but Reviriego confirmed the intention and conversations by Valderrama to be one of the venues, in such a case and to continue growing to offer a better tournament, if possible, than the one held annually.

With regard to the investment plans at the club, he didn´t hesitate to encourage that momentum and the goal that Valderrama has been working on for years, that will certainly make it the most sustainable and environmentally integrated in Spain and among the top in the entire continent. He outlined, as announced in the August edition of Sotogrande Magazine by the president of Valderrama, Nuno de Brito, the construction of a large lake in an area that didn´t have a specific use on the course in order to store water during winter and be able to use it during the most critical moments of the summer season. He explained that this and many other measures (variety of grass, reduction of chemical treatments, optimisation of water, investment in hybrid and electrical machinery), enable Valderrama to lead the commitment to sustainability as a sporting entity, looking ahead to future scenarios. Municipal and urban planning plans The mayor of San Roque, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, also participated in the debate accompanied

by the head of Urban Development, Nicolás Moncada, to carry out the technical assessments of the significant urban planning and development activity that has been carried out in the municipality in recent times. Specifically, among the public and private plans in San Roque, there is work on more than 600 new properties in the different areas and zones of the municipality, as well as on different standards and the target audience. A detail that the mayor also looked at, encouraging the investment of developers in public housing. He praised the masterplan of both the parent company of Sotogrande and of Millennium Hotels in Alcaidesa (reconverted into La Hacienda), with two extremely important developments that raise the level and the barrier of the destination, not only because of the construction of hotels and luxury residences, but also because of the investment in the improvement of golf courses and the increase in quality. He also looked at the work that is being carried out for the Partial Plan of Los Pinos, which has been underway since 2105 and which will improve the entire area next to the polo facilities (the best in Europe he specified) with commercial, hotel and residential land, and the Ayala Seasonal Plan devoted to deseasonalising the equestrian season in Valle del Guadiaro and encouraging twelve-month activity devoted to horses thanks to the development of “mini-estates”. He announced the existence of a “sustainable investment” for the Borondo area, which connects Alcaidesa with Sotogrande, with an attractive natural and adventure tourism plan. All, just like the previous plans, through respect and coexistence with the environment and that duality that makes San Roque so strong as a municipality, that makes it possible to combine industry and high-quality tourism. Avenida de Los Cortijos As was to be expected, the rehabilitation of the crossroads on Avenida de Los Cortijos, cut-off since the storm last May, was one of the main topics of debate in the discussion about the great and inconvenient negative consequences that this series of nuisances has had for residents, visitors, hotel guests, services and the entire endless administrative and bu-

reaucratic proceedings. Both the Council representatives, and the manager of the UCE Parks of Sotogrande, helped to outline the difficulty of the project itself as it requires the involvement of engineering works, with the installation of a new underpass over the stream measuring 8x3 metres. All of this, in addition

to the preparation and study of the relevant project, as explained by the mayor, entails a series of administrative proceedings between the Council and the Regional Government of Andalusia, a relationship that isn´t always easy, even more so with governments from different political parties (according to the mayor) and

which further slow down the steps for implementing it. Both entities announced to those present that fortunately all the procedures have already been completed and the work is underway. Everything indicates that by the end of the year or the start of 2022 by the very latest, everything should be fixed.

rrama. El buen humor y la facilidad con la que Duró introduce importantes mensajes de calado y de perfil vital y motivacional cautivaron e hicieron las delicias de todo el aforo. Resaltó la importancia de creer en uno mismo, en sus posibilidades, en que el día a día es más importante que el mañana y que todo tiene un motor claro y conciso: la felicidad. Resaltó que la gente feliz no sólo rinde más que además rinde mejor y de manera más prolongada en el tiempo. Que no se debe dejar llevar por los estímulos negativos, mucho

mayores en número y más presentes que los positivos, pero que son estos últimos los determinantes para preservar nuestro éxito sobre el fracaso. Sus experiencias vitales y su vi-

sión pasional del mundo empresarial pusieron un broche de oro y de muchísimo nivel a la celebración del XII Foro Empresarial Sotogrande, organizado por Grupo HCP.

LA ESTIMULACIÓN COGNITIVA COGNITIVE STIMULATION

Navidades y ejercicios cognitivos Ya tenemos las Navidades con nosotros, y con ellas las entrañables reuniones familiares. Exponemos algunas propuestas para aprovechar esos encuentros ejercitando las habilidades cognitivas así como algunas ideas de regalos. Los juegos de mesa promueven la socialización, imprescindible para mejorar nuestro sistema inmune y de paso alejarnos de las “pantallas”. Desde aquí sugerimos especialmente los tradicionales de la baraja española: el tute, el cinquillo, el chinchón, la brisca, las siete y media…eso sí, sin cariz de apuesta. Los beneficios que nos aporta se reflejan en mayor atención, observación, memoria y estrategia de resolución, con un plus, preservar las tradiciones. La persona, aparte de ser social, se mueve en unos parámetros socio-espaciales-temporales. Participar de las tradiciones, conocerlas y compartirlas nos enriquece, fomenta la comprensión de nuestro origen, asienta nuestra identidad, el sentido de pertenencia y comunidad, nos da seguridad y aumenta nuestra autoestima. Ya comentamos cómo vamos siendo menos “inteligentes”. En gran parte debido al excesivo uso de la tecnología, por no decir dependencia, la lectura sigue siendo la reina de la fiesta. Con una buena técnica de comprensión lectora, contrastando datos, comparando autores en una misma materia, subrayando, tomando notas, visualizando imágenes… se incrementa el razonamiento y el proceso deductivo. Por añadidura, si leemos en voz alta para otros, se benefician todos. ¿Vamos a salir de viaje? ¿Qué tal sin GPS? Una fantástica práctica es buscar alguna recóndita receta familiar, eligiendo los ingredientes y su procedencia; siendo consciente de los pasos; los olores, colores, la textura, el sabor y la presentación. Se despliegan la creatividad, los sentidos, la atención sostenida, la memoria de trabajo… y si lo haces con cariño, la coherencia cardiaca. ¿Quién no recuerda los famosos cuadernillos Rubio? Los ya históricos enfocados en escri-

tura, caligrafía, cálculo, problemas, se han ido ampliando con paquetes para adultos y especializaciones en deterioros cognitivos por niveles. ¡Toda una buena noticia! Los puzles, los rompecabezas, los pasatiempos y los diccionarios de sinónimos y antónimos constituyen fantásticas herramientas. Existen muchas opciones para disfrutar en compañía estimulando el cerebro. Conlleva beneficios asombrosos para nuestra salud mental y física. El estado de ánimo mejora gracias a una mayor producción de dopamina, neurotransmisor de la felicidad, potenciando la autoconfianza, la ilusión y el aprendizaje. No quisiera terminar este artículo sin manifestar mi más profundo agradecimiento a los integrantes del Periódico de Sotogrande y a vosotros, lectores. Christmas and cognive exercises We already have the Christmas holidays with us, and with them beloved family gatherings. We are outlining some proposals for making the most of those gatherings by exercising cognitive abilities as well as some gift ideas. Table games encourage socialising, essential for improving our immune system and in turn moving away from “screens”. From here we especially suggest traditional Spanish card games: tute, cinquillo, chinchón, brisca, seven and a half... having said that, without any betting. The benefits they provide are reflected in greater attention, observation, memory and resolution strategy, with a bonus, preserving traditions. The person, aside from being social, moves in social-spatial-time parameters. Participating in traditions, learning about them and sharing them enriches

us, encourages the understanding of our origins, consolidates our identity, feeling of belonging and community, gives us security and increases our self-esteem. As we stated, we are becoming less “intelligent”. In large part due to the excessive use of technology, not to say dependency, reading remains the queen of the party. With a good reading comprehension technique, cross-checking data, comparing authors on the same subject, highlighting, taking notes, viewing images, reasoning and the deductive process is increased. Additionally, if we read out loud for others, everyone benefits. Are we going to go travelling? What about without a GPS? A fantastic practice is to look for some obscure family recipe, choosing the ingredients and where they come from; being aware of the steps; the smells, colours, texture, flavour and presentation. Creativity, the senses, sustained attention, working memory are deployed... and if you do so with affection, cardiac coherence. Who doesn´t remember the famous Rubio exercise books? The now historic books focused on writing, handwriting, calculus, problems, have been extended with packages for adults and specialisations on cognitive deterioration according to levels. Great news! Puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, pastimes and dictionaries of synonyms and antonyms constitute fantastic tools. There are many options to enjoy company while stimulating the brain. It entails amazing benefits for our mental and physical health. Mood improves thanks to a greater production of dopamine, the neurotransmitter of happiness, thus boosting self-confidence, enthusiasm and learning. Cómo comprar la felicidad El mayor sinónimo de inteligencia hoy en día es, sin duda, llevar una vida feliz. La felicidad en sí misma, es un objetivo común a todos los seres humanos, cada uno llega a ella por distintos caminos y tiene tantos significados cómo personas hay persiguiéndola. Pero independientemente de qué te la proporcione o de cómo la consigas, lo que es seguro es que la reconoces porque obtienes con ella un sentimiento de bienestar, armonía y paz. Son pequeños momentos donde el tiempo se para, la respiración fluye, el cuerpo se relaja y la mente se queda en el momento presente, ni preocupaciones del pasado ni ansiedades del futuro. Nos envuelve mientras nos llenamos de un sentimiento extático y sentimos que no necesitamos nada más, hemos saboreado la “sal de la vida”. Nos pasamos la existencia, según M. Seligman, padre de la psicología positiva, buscando la felicidad de cinco maneras: • La felicidad del goce y los placeres de la vida, fugaz y adictiva: hacer deporte, enamorarse, disfrutar de una buena comida, leer… • La felicidad del fluir, que surge de nuestro compromiso al poner en marcha nuestras capacidades: cuando estamos tan inmersos en

una tarea que perdemos la noción del tiempo, experimentando gran satisfacción cuando terminamos. • Las relaciones sociales, el sentido de pertenencia a un círculo social, amplio o reducido, es fuente de bienestar natural. • La felicidad que surge cuando hacemos algo por un valor superior: nuestros hijos, familias, religión o política… • El logro de objetivos, la satisfacción personal de cumplir con las metas propuestas. En cualquiera de estos casos, lo que obtenemos al final, es el sentimiento generado por las emociones positivas que toman nuestro cuerpo y mente y calman el espíritu. Los sentimientos de felici¬dad basados en el placer inmediato no son eternos, ni duran en el tiempo, pero tienen gran poder adictivo al depender de un factor externo del que necesitaremos cada vez más para satisfacernos. Por ello es importante identificar “qué” nos hace felices y de “qué o quién” depende nuestra felicidad. Aquí aparece el dilema, es especialmente en esta época del año de consumismo material, cuando la sociedad hedonista en la que vivimos nos plantea, basándose en valores humanos sagrados cómo la solidaridad o el compartir con los

seres queridos, encontrar la felicidad siempre desde el intercambio material. Vamos a hacer una prueba, ¿Cuántos logos comerciales te vienen a la cabeza con la palabra Navidad? Realmente ¿la cantidad de felicidad que obtienes en este periodo del año es proporcional al desembolso realizado? Estamos condicionados a creer que la felicidad viene de la satisfacción cortoplacista de nuestros

deseos, comprar más, comer más, consumir más…entrando en un bucle adictivo que siempre nos demandará más. Son pocos los que se permiten experimentar auténticas experiencias de felicidad, basadas en la química y conexión personal, el vínculo con la naturaleza o en el compromiso y superación personal. La Felicidad es poder experimentar el sentimiento de conexión, serenidad y satisfacción con la vida. Aceptar nuestra vida cómo es, estando en paz con el pasado y caminando al futuro desde el presente. Aceptando y agradeciendo, siendo generosos con los que nos importan y con nosotros mismos. Tu felicidad sólo depende de ti, y siempre que sepas que es lo que quieres para tu vida, podrás marcarte un objetivo, identificar tus miedos, encontrar tus recursos y ponerte en acción para construirla día a día. Que no te vendan la Felicidad, la “sal de la vida” no se puede comprar, tendrás que trabajarla, construirla y crearla cada día.

How to buy happiness The greatest synonym of intelligence today is undoubtedly leading a happy life. Happiness in itself is an objective shared by all human beings, each person reaches it through different paths and it has as many meanings as people there are pursuing it. However, regardless of what provides it to you or how you achieve it, what is sure is that you recognise it because you obtain with it a feeling of wellbeing, harmony and peace. There are little moments where time stops, breathing flows, the body relaxes and the mind is in the present, without worries about the past or anxiety about the future. It envelops us while we are filled with an ecstatic feeling and we feel that we don´t need anything more, we have savoured the “spice of life”. We spend our existence, according to M. Seligman, the father of positive psychology, seeking happiness in five ways: • The happiness of enjoyment and

the pleasures of life, fleeting and addictive: doing sport, falling in love, enjoying good food, reading... • The happiness of flowing, that arises from our commitment when we launch our capacities: when we are so immersed in a task that we lose track of time, and experience a great sense of satisfaction when we end. • Social relations, the sense of belonging to a social circle, large or small, is a source of natural wellbeing. • Happiness that arises when we do something for a higher value: our children, families, religion and politics... • The achievement of objectives, the personal satisfaction of fulfilling the goals set. In any of these cases, what we obtain at the end, is the feeling created by the positive emotions that take over our body and mind and calm our spirit. The feelings of happiness based on immediate pleasure are not eternal,

nor do they last over time, but they have great addictive power by depending on an external factor that we will need an increasing amount of in order to satisfy ourselves. Therefore, it is important to identify “what” makes us happy and “what or who” our happiness depends on. Here, the dilemma emerges, it is especially at this time of year of material consumerism, when the hedonist society that we live in proposes, based on sacred human values such as solidarity and sharing with loved ones, always finding happiness through material exchanges. Let´s do a test, how many commercial logos come into your head with the word Christmas? Really, is the amount of happiness you obtain at this time of year proportional to the amount spent? We are conditioned to believing that happiness comes from the shortterm satisfaction of our wishes, buying more, eating more, consuming more... entering an addictive loop

that will always ask for more from us. Few people allow themselves to experience true experiences of happiness, based on chemistry and a personal connection, the link with nature or to commitment personal improvement. Happiness is being able to experience the feeling of connection, calm and satisfaction with life. Accepting our life, the way it is, being at peace with the past and walking into the future through the present. Accepting and being grateful, being generous with those who matter to us and with ourselves. Your happiness depends on you alone, and provided that you know what you want for your life, you can set yourself a goal, identify your fears, find your resources and get into action to build it on a daily basis. Don´t allow people to sell you happiness, the “spice of life” cannot be purchased, you will have to work on it, build it and create it each day.

Mediación: una mirada hacia el interior ¡Llegó la Navidad! Llena de momentos de júbilo y celebración con más o menos distancia de seguridad. Despedimos un año convulso, de restricciones, dudas y miedos. Muchos interrogantes a nuestro alrededor y poco consenso y dialogo genuinos. Por ello, quiero romper una lanza a favor de recibir e nuevo año tratando de hallar las respuestas, en primer lugar, en

nuestro interior. Os comparto con este motivo un fragmento del ensayo de Andrea Tomas titulado, Yo soy mi obra maestra, 5 sencillas claves para el bienestar, muy recomendable por cierto, para quien quiera encargar a los Reyes Magos algunas herramientas para disfrutar de la introspección y el trabajo internos: “(…) Para reconocer nuestros miedos es

Mediation: a look towards the inside Christmas is here! Full of moments of joy and celebration with more or less social distancing. We are bidding farewell to a turbulent year, with restrictions, doubts and fears. Many questions around us and little consensus and genuine dialogue. Therefore, I want to stand up in favour of welcoming the new year while trying to find the answers, firstly, from within ourselves. For this reason, I wish to share a fragment with you from the essay by Andrea Tomas entitled, I am my masterpiece, 5 simple keys to wellbeing, certainly very recommended for whomever wishes to order some tools from the Three Kings for enjoying introspection and inner work: “(…) In order to recognise our fears it is essential to acknowledge that our unconsciousness, often, is in control, lurking in the shadows. The therapeutic practice of dealing with our most hidden interior is called “work with the Shadow”. This work with our dark side -which doesn´t necessarily need to be something bad, - is the most difficult of the stages of personal growth. However, the effort is worthwhile as it enables us to be aware of each thought, feeling, act or omission. Through this effort, we become witnesses, constantly and objectively observing. Like anything that is done for the first time, at the beginning it is scarier than it should be, therefore it will require the bravery of acknowledging oneself and a certain skill to get over that threshold. It is the first of the limits to transcend. However, once we manage to make it a habit, it works like a constant transformative force in a version of oneself that is increasingly better than the previous one. It is a bit like rebuilding what we always were, dusting off those true foundations and creating resistant retaining walls that are capable of looking after ourselves. Then, afterwards, decorating them with flexible bamboo, trying to integrate the others and what surrounds us in a new way, choosing people with heart, distinguishing brightness from show, and pursuing the greatness of what is inside us.”

Un proyecto de turismo sostenible para Borondo La comisión Municipal de Urbanismo, reunida de forma extraordinaria en el Palacio de los Gobernadores, conoció un proyecto de actuación urbanística en el paraje de Borondo, respetuoso con el Medio ambiente, y que el Ayuntamiento ha trasladado a la Junta de Andalucía, competente en este territorio, ya que está integrado en el Parque Natural de los Alcornocales. Se trata de un proyecto de la empresa Carbonell y Figueras para actuar en las 330 hectáreas de la Finca Borondo, ubicada entre la playa y la carretera A-7, en la que la empresa quiere invertir unos 120 millones de euros. Dada la ubicación de la finca, en pleno Parque de los Alcornocales, y la complejidad de la tramitación, se trata de un proyecto a medio plazo (unos 3-4 años para su inicio), pero

según el proyecto presentado a todos los grupos de la Corporación, es totalmente respetuoso con el medio ambiente. De hecho, el alcalde destacó que sólo se va a intervenir en el 1,7 del terreno, no se trata de un proyecto de ladrillos, y es el primero que se presenta en el Ayuntamiento. “Es un proyecto rural sostenible, que protege el medio natu-

ral y la cultura local, y que trata de ofrecer un servicio distinto, del que carece San Roque” En concreto, el proyecto inicial recoge la instalación de 263 cabañas, cuatro albergues y zonas de acampada. Además, se instalará un Centro de Interpretación del Parque Natural de los Alcornocales, un Centro de Interpretación del Medio Marino, una finca de

explotación agroecológica, un parque de aventuras, etc. El proyecto, de 120 millones de inversión, supondría unos 600 puestos de trabajo en su construcción, y entre 400 y 500 puestos de trabajo fijos durante su funcionamiento, pero no podrá ver la luz antes de 3 años, una vez que tenga todos los permisos de todas las administraciones.

En la presentación del proyecto se hizo incapié en que se trata de una idea pionera, sin igual en el mundo al ubicarse en una joya ecológica con un gran potencial al tener parque natural y mar, en el que las cabañas serán de madera e integradas en el terreno, no entrarán los vehículos de combustión y en cuyo diseño han participado también científicos.

The Municipal Urban Planning committee, convened on an extraordinary basis at the Governors Palace, announced a development plan in the Borondo area, that is environmentally friendly, and that the Council has informed the Regional Government of Andalusia about, which is responsible for this territory, as it is part of Los Alcornocales Natural Park. It involves a project by the company Carbonell y Figueras to act on the 330 hectares of Finca Borondo, located between the beach and the A-7 road, where the company wants to invest 120 million Euros. • El Tribunal Superior de Justicia de Andalucía (TSJA) resuelve en un auto que “no procede la suspensión” cautelar del Plan Especial de Ayala, como había solicitado la Junta de Andalucía. Redacción

El TSJA rechaza la suspensión cautelar del Plan Especial Ayala La Sala de lo Contencioso Administrativo del Tribunal Superior de Justicia de Andalucía (TSJA) resolvió en un auto que “no procede la suspensión” cautelar del Plan Especial de Ayala, como había solicitado la Junta de Andalucía. El “Plan Especial para la Declaración de Interés Público en suelo no urbanizarle ‘AYALA’, sito en Hacienda San Enrique, San Enrique de Guadiaro, y su correspondiente Estudio Ambiental Estratégico, promovidos por Ayala España, SA” se aprobó en el Pleno Ordinario de julio de 2020 con los votos a favor de 19 de los 20 concejales presentes, contándose sólo con el voto en contra del representante de Adelante San Roque. A principios de 2021, la Consejería de Fomento, Infraestructuras y Ordenación del Territorio pidió al Ayuntamiento la suspensión de este acuerdo plenario, a lo que se opuso el Consistorio, por lo que el asunto ha acabado en los tribunales. En el auto de la Sala de lo Contencioso Administrativo Sección Segunda del TSJA notificado en estos días se dispone que “no procede la suspensión de la resolución impugnada”, como había solicitado la Junta de Andalucía, a la que también se le impone el pago de las costas procesales. Entre los argumentos esgrimidos por el TSJA en el auto, destaca el si-

guiente: “En la propia argumentación de la petición de suspensión se contienen las razones que aconsejan su improcedencia, pues la propia parte postulante (la Junta) menciona los preceptos 40 y 24 de las Ordenanzas del Plan Especial que autorizan usos compatibles -como el hotelero- con el uso característico agropecuario, de ahí que en este juicio provisorio no se encuentren motivos para la adopción de la medida cautelar”. En unas declaraciones al respecto, Ruiz Boix, alcalde de San Roque, recordó que este Plan Especial “permite unos desarrollos agropecuarios que fijan la población, colabora en los

crecimientos alrededor del mundo del caballo, y permitirá también unos desarrollos turísticos de pequeña dimensión. Y junto a ello generará actividad económica, empleo y desarrollo en una zona castigada por la crisis y que necesita de mayor impulso de todas las administraciones para conseguir elevar lo datos de empleo”. “No entendemos -añadió-, cuando la próxima semana teóricamente se va a aprobar la Ley del Suelo de Andalucía que va a permitir nuevos usos y una mayor agilidad en la tramitación urbanística, como ese Gobierno se dedica a bombardear la actividad y los crecimientos y desarrollos soste-

nibles” de San Roque. Argumentó el primer edil que en este municipio se da “un desarrollo sostenible reducido, con productos de alta calidad, de alto lujo, que generan importante riqueza y empleo. No entendemos el recurso que planteó la Junta de Andalucía más que en el castigo a nuestra zona, a nuestra tierra, en la discriminación constante al municipio de San Roque”, concluyó. Plan Especial Ayala El Plan Especial Ayala se corresponde con unos terrenos de 155 hectáreas de extensión, situados al norte del núcleo de población de San Enrique. El

objetivo es el desarrollo de pequeñas explotaciones o minifincas (de 3 hectáreas cada una) vinculadas a la actividad principal para la explotación caballar, hortofrutícola y de secano, así como instalaciones tipo establos y residencial unifamiliar orientadas a la explotación de los terrenos. Este proyecto se considera un paso más hacia la implantación del distrito equino, ya que Ayala pretende con el mismo atraer al municipio a los equipos de polo y de otros deportes ecuestres, de manera que su implantación sería a lo largo de todo el año, y no sólo en los meses estivales coincidiendo con las competiciones. Estas minifincas serían sus bases permanentes en la zona, donde criar y entrenar a sus caballos, cuya alimentación se conseguiría de las explotaciones agrícolas situadas en estos mismos terrenos. Del millón y medio de metros cuadrados objeto de este plan, 940.000 se destinan a uso agropecuario, a cultivos de regadío y secano. Otros 430.000 metros cuadrados serían para uso ganadero, principalmente explotaciones de carácter equino. Y, finalmente, una muy pequeña porción para la construcción de establos y viviendas unifamiliares ligadas a estas minifincas, de tres hectáreas cada una.

High Court of Andalusia rejects precautionary suspension of Ayala Special Plan The Contentious-Administrative Court of the High Court of Andalusia (TSJA) ruled in proceedings that “the precautionary suspension is inadmissible” of the Ayala Special Plan, as requested by the Regional Government of Andalusia. The “Special Plan for the Declaration of Public Interest on the undeveloped land, “AYALA”, located in Hacienda San Enrique, San Enrique de Guadiaro, and its corresponding Strategic Environmental Study, undertaken by Ayala España, SA” was approved in the Ordinary Plenary of July 2020 with votes in favour by 19 of the 20 councillors present, and only one vote against by the representative of Adelante San Roque. At the start of 2021, the Department of Development, Infrastructure and Land Planning asked the Council to suspend this plenary agreement, which the Council opposed, therefore this matter has ended up in the courts. The proceedings of the Contentious-Administrative Court Se-

cond Section of the High Court of Andalusia (TSJA), announced recently, state that “the suspension of the contested decision is not admissible”, as requested by the Regional Government of Andalusia, which has also been forced to pay the court costs. Among the arguments put forward by the TSJA in the proceedings, it highlights the following: “The arguments of the suspension request contain the reasons that make its impermissibility advisable, as the applicant party (the Regional Government) mentions precepts 40 and 24 of the Ordinances of the Special Plan that authorise compatible uses -such as hotel use- with the characteristic farming use, hence why in this provisional trial there are no reasons to adopt the precautionary measure”. In declarations on the matter, Ruiz Boix, the mayor of San Roque, recalled that this Special Plan “enables farming use that is established by the population, it

collaborates with growth in terms of the equestrian world, and it will also enable small amounts of tourism development. And alongside that it will generate economic activity, employment and development in an area hit by the crisis and which needs greater support from all the administration in order to raise employment figures”. He added, “we cannot understand when theoretically next week the Andalusia Land Law will be approved which will enable new uses and greater agility in urban development proceedings, as the Government is devoted to bombarding activity and sustainable growth and developments” in San Roque. The mayor argued that in this municipality there is “a small amount of sustainable development, with high quality, very luxurious products, that generate a significant amount of wealth and employment. We cannot understand the appeal made by the Regional Government of Andalusia

other than as a punishment for our area, our region, in the constant discrimination of the municipality of San Roque” he concluded. Ayala Special Plan The Ayala Special Plan corresponds to land covering an area of 155 hectares located to the north of the town of San Enrique. The objective is the development of small farms or mini-estates (3 hectares each) linked to the main activity for horse use, growing fruit and vegetables and dry farming, as well as stable type facilities and single family homes targeted at the use of the land. This project is considered another step towards the implementation of the equine district, as with it Ayala aims to attract polo teams and the teams of other equestrian teams to the municipality, in a way so that it implementation would be throughout

the entire year, and not only in the summer months coinciding with the competitions. Alumnos de Educación Primaria, Secundaria y Bachillerato del Colegio San José, han acercado el mundo de la Ciencia y la Tecnología a sus compañeros en la III Feria de la Ciencia y la Tecnología, una experiencia que se consolida cada año despertando el interés de pequeños futuros científicos Con la ayuda de sus profesores, los estudiantes han preparado demostraciones empíricas sobre Física, Química, Tecnología, Biología, Medio Ambiente, Luminiscencia y Artes Gráficas que posteriormente han llevado a cabo recibiendo la atenta y curiosa mirada de los alumnos que los visitaban en los diversos stands temáticos instalados en el Colegio. El programa de la Feria, que ha tenido lugar durante una semana completa, incluía además talleres científicos desarrollados en los laboratorios del Colegio, juegos educativos, cine fórum y ha contado con dos interesantes conferencias: • “Donación y trasplantes”, a cargo del Dr. D. Xan Romaní Faro, Coordinador de Trasplantes del Hospital Comarcal de la Línea de la Concepción y del Dr. D. José Manuel Galván, Coordinador de Trasplantes del Hospital Costa del Sol. • “Nuevo diseño de fármacos: Nanotecnología”, a cargo de Dña. Beatriz

III Colegio San José Science and Technology Fair Primary, Secondary and Baccalaureate pupils from Colegio San José, brought the world of Science and Technology to their schoolmates at the III Science and Technology Fair, an experience that is established every year arousing the interest of little future scientists. With the help of their teachers, the students prepared empirical demonstrations on Physics, Chemistry, Technology, Biology, the Environment, Luminescence and Graphic Arts which they subsequently carried out receiving the attentive and curious gaze of the pupils who visited them at the different themed stands at the School. The Fair programme, which took place over a complete week, also included scientific workshops that took place in the School laboratories, educational games, a film forum and it had two interesting presentations: • “Donation and transplants”, by Dr.

D. Xan Romaní Faro, Coordinator of Transplants at the Provincial Hospital of La Línea de la Concepción and by Dr. D. José Manuel Galván, Coordinator of Transplants at Hospital Costa del Sol. • “The new design of drugs: Nanote-

El Colegio Casa de la Virgen celebra su inauguración oficial • La institución bendice la ampliación del centro en Palmones y celebra una recepción para dar a conocer las nuevas instalaciones a medios de comunicación y personalidades invitadas. M.G.

Un centro educativo de primer nivel, junto a la playa de Palmones. El Colegio Casa de la Virgen celebró el pasado 5 de diciembre su acto de bendición e inauguración oficial tras su profunda renovación y ampliación, con la celebración de una jornada llena de actos para dar a conocer sus nuevas instalaciones a medios de comunicación, padres y diferentes personalidades invitadas del ámbito empresarial, político y social de toda la Comarca del Campo de Gibraltar. Tras la recepción y cariñosa bienvenida al centro por parte de profesores y junta directiva, con unos

anfitriones de lujo (alumnos del centro que ayudaron a explicar y acomodar a todos los asistentes las importantes novedades del colegio), se llevó a cabo la bendición protocolaria frente a la puerta principal. Acto seguido de una eucaristía

que coincidía con el segundo Domingo de Adviento, también sirvió para presentar a los asistentes la fantástica y luminosa capilla del centro educativo que ya alberga capacidad e instalaciones para dar cobertura a niños desde Infantil hasta Bachillerato, incluyendo varios grados de formación profesional. Destacar que también cuenta con comedor propio y servicio de transporte intermunicipal. Una visita guiada por las clases y fabulosas dependencias del centro: arenero, campo de césped artificial, patios, polideportivo cubierto, zonas de infantil, clases,

laboratorios, salón de actos, etc.; fue broche de oro a la jornada, junto con un cóctel y aperitivo como cierre del acto. Sin duda, una grata noticia para la comuni-

dad escolar de la Comarca dispone de una extraordinaria alternativa en un lugar estratégico y céntrico de todo el arco del Campo de Gibraltar.

CEIP BARBÉSULA DE SAN ENRIQUE

Educación Valores, responsabilidad y respeto de Sotogrande

Estas últimas semanas han estado llenas de cosas bonitas que han impregnado de valores al CEIP Barbésula. Nos pusimos en el papel de personas con distintas capacidades, para celebrar que todos somos valiosos y podemos aportar mucho. Hemos conmemorado el día contra la violencia de género, porque creemos en la igualdad, en el respeto, y en el buen trato con independencia de si somos mujeres u hombres, y por último hemos recordado nuestra constitución, llevándola del estado a nuestras aulas con nuestros propios estatutos y reglamentos. Además, el profesorado del centro ha iniciado una formación consistente en diversas jornadas que se realizarán a lo largo del curso desde el grupo de trabajo Cuid-arte. Este mes han tocado juegos cooperativos que pronto pondrán en práctica en las aulas.

We commemorate the day against gender-based violence, because we believe in equality, in respect and good treatment regardless of whether we are women or men, and lastly we remembered our constitution, taking it from being a statement into our own classrooms with our own statutes and rules. Also, the teachers at the school began training that involves different work days that will take place over the year through the working group “Cuid-arte” (Look after yourself). This month they played cooperative games that they will soon put into practice in the classrooms.

La Palma, destino y causa solidaria de Puertoblanco-Montecalpe La isla de La Palma, la “isla bonita” asolada por el volcán de su Cumbre Vieja, será la destinataria de la ayuda de la acción solidaria de Attendis por Navidad bajo el lema “Es por Ti la Navidad”. Con este motivo, y a la vista de la devastación producida por la lava en estos dos meses y medio de actividad, la institución educativa Attendis ha decidido destinar este año la recogida de su campaña de Navidad a la isla. Además del dinero recaudado por los donativos recibidos, Attendis aportará un dinero por el número de visualizaciones del vídeo navideño. Como consecuencia de la erup-

ción, más de 7.000 personas han tenido que ser desalojadas y la lava ha destruido a su paso más de 2.600 construcciones, según los datos del programa europeo de satélites Copernicus. También ha formado una fajana de más de 41 hectáreas que sigue creciendo alimentada por tres coladas.

Jorge Hao levanta la Copa Puerta de Hierro en Sotogrande • Derrota al también madrileño Álvaro Revuelta por un claro 9/7 en la prestigiosa competición celebrada este curso en el Real Club de Golf Sotogrande Manuel Gil Jorge Hao dio una vuelta de tuerca más a un 2021 maravilloso ganando con una autoridad aplastante la 103ª edición de la Copa Nacional Puerta de Hierro en el Real Club Golf de Sotogrande. En la final se encontró con Álvaro Revuelta, brillante en las rondas anteriores pero que apenas pudo contrarrestar el torrente de juego del actual campeón de Europa individual Sub 16. El resultado final, 9/7, ofrece una idea de la solidez con la que Jorge Hao se plantó en el tee del

1 para afrontar los 36 hoyos de los que consta el duelo cumbre del torneo. Hasta el hoyo 6 la contienda se mantuvo apenas inalterable -Álvaro Revuelta cobró una mínima ventaja en el 3 que se esfumó en el 4-, pero en el 7 Jorge Hao arrancó la moto para firmar un giro de guión que acabaría siendo definitivo. Hao se anotó el hoyo 7, el 8, el 9, el 11, el 12, el 13 y el 14, situándose con un 7up en la salida del 15 que dejaba la final muy cuesta arriba para un Álvaro Revuelta que, sin embargo, mostró

un gran orgullo y se rebeló contra ese destino adverso ganando dos hoyos consecutivos. Los segundos 18 hoyos arrancaron con ideas más frescas tras un receso de casi una hora y con una renta de seis hoyos para Jorge Hao, que lejos de bajar el ritmo fue ampliando su ventaja hasta situarla en un 9up que ya resultó inabarcable, ya no sólo para Álvaro Revuelta, sino prácticamente para cualquier amateur de élite. Con el nivel de que estaba mostrando Hao, su victoria era inevitable.

Jacobo Cestino prolonga su dominio golfísitico en Sotogrande El Real Club de Golf Sotogrande acogió la decimonovena edición del Campeonato de Andalucía Mid Amateur Masculino ‘Memorial Miguel Preysler’, una prueba que reunió a más de setenta jugadores en el emblemático recorrido gaditano y que finalizó con victoria del malagueño Jacobo Cestino. El federado por el Club de Campo La Zagaleta sumó así su novena victoria en la competición. En los últimos diez años, solamente ha dejado de ganar la prueba en una ocasión, y fue en 2017, cuando el triunfo fue para el federado por el Real Club de Golf Guadalhorce, Fernando Moreno. Cestino entregó una tarjeta de 76 golpes que, unidos a los 72 anteriores, le dejaron con un resultado final acumulado de +4. Así, tuvo tres de ventaja sobre el jugador de Mijas Golf, Jussi Harju, y el federado por el Real Club de Golf Guadalmina, Antonio Cruz-Conde, que terminaron igualados con +7. Atendiendo a la diferencia de hándicap, Jussi Harju se proclamó Subcampeón de Andalucía Mid Amateur 2021. En cuanto a la clasificación hándicap, con 149 golpes netos, el ganador fue José Ugía, jugador de la Escuela de Golf de Miguel Ángel Jiménez.

Jorge Hao lifts Puerta de Hierro Cup in Sotogrande • He also defeated the fellow Madrid player Álvaro Revuelta by a clear 9/7 in the prestigious competition held this year at Real Club de Golf Sotogrande. Jorge Hao provided another turn of the screw to a marvellous 2021 with a crushing victory at the 103rd edition of Puerta de Hierro National Cup at Real Club Golf de Sotogrande. In the final he came up against Álvaro Revuelta, who was brilliant in the previous round but he was barely able to counter the torrent of play of the current European under-16´s champion. The end result, 9/7, offers an idea of the strength with which Jorge Hao took to the tee at the 1st hole, to tackle the 36 holes that comprise the final clash of the tournament. The battle remained practically even up until the 6th hole -Álvaro Revuelta earned a minimal advantage at the 3rd which disappeared at the 4thbut at the 7th Jorge Hao kick-started

the engine to add a twist to the script that would end up being definitive. Hao scored at hole 7, 8, 9,11, 12, 13 and 14, taking 7up at the tee 15 which left the final an upward struggle for Álvaro Revuelta who, however, showed great pride and fought back against this harsh fate by winning the two consecutive holes. The second 18 holes got un-

derway with fresher ideas after a break of almost one hour and a six-hole advantage for Jorge Hao, who far from dropping his pace, gradually extended his lead to go 9up that was unfathomable, not only for Álvaro Revuelta, but practically for any elite amateur. With the level that Hao was displaying, his victory was inevitable.

Jacobo Cestino extends his golfing dominance in Sotogrande Real Club de Golf Sotogrande hosted the Miguel Preysler Memorial Andalusian Men´s Mid-Amateur Championship, an event that brought together more than seventy players at the emblematic course in Cadiz and that ended with victory for the Malaga player Jacobo Cestino. The player federated by Club de Campo La Zagaleta thus added his ninth victory in the competition. In the last ten years, he has only failed to win the event on one occasion, and that was 2017, when victory wen to the Real Club de Golf Guadalhorce federated player, Fernando Moreno. Cestino submitted a card of 76 shots which, along with the previous 72, left him with an overall end result of +4. Thus, he had a three-shot lead over the Mijas Golf player, Jussi Harju, and the Real Club de Golf Guadalmina federated player, Antonio Cruz-Conde, who finished tied on +7. Taking into account the handicap difference, Jussi Harju was crowned 2021 Andalusian Mid-Amateur Runner-Up. As for the handicap ranking, with 149 shots overall, the winner was José Ugía, a player from the Miguel Ángel Jiménez Golf School.

“Me impresiona de Sotogrande que se respira golf en cualquier sitio” Manuel Gil Encantado de darle la bienvenida tras los primeros meses en la urbanización. Nada menos que la gerencia y dirección del Real Club de Golf Sotogrande, una de las instituciones más emblemáticas y señeras. ¿Cómo afronta el reto? Lo afronto con mucha ilusión, es un cambio importante. En mis últimos años, en Isla Canela, mi cometido era más una dirección general de un grupo en el que se gestionaban diferentes modelos de negocio: campos de golf, puerto deportivo, inmobiliarias… Aquí vuelvo más de lleno al sector, que es mi pasión, para lo que me formé en Estados Unidos. Para mí, el Real Club de Golf de Sotogrande es ‘El Club de España’, esta etapa la vivo como un sueño.

“El Real Club de Golf de Sotogrande es ‘El Club de España’, esta etapa la vivo como un sueño” Carolina del Sur, Pamplona, Lanzarote, Isla Canela,.., una amplia experiencia y una relación muy estrecha con la alta administración golfística. Cuéntenos un poco cómo empieza su relación con este deporte y el salto a la dedicación profesional. Mi vinculación con el golf comienza en Jaízquivel y ‘La Peñaza’, campos de Golf de Zaragoza y de San Sebastián, de los que era socio y donde nació mi pasión. Empecé a jugar en las escuelas, formé parte de los equipos juveniles y, poco a poco, fui profundizando más en el deporte. También tuve la suerte de conseguir una beca que me permitió estudiar en los Estados Unidos dirección y gestión de empresas enfocada a campos de golf. Esa etapa me sirvió para descubrir que me encantaba la gestión de complejos vinculados con este de-

porte. Me inicié en el Club de Campo Señorío de Sobastí y pasé a un club más comercial como es Lanzarote. Los últimos quince años todo se desarrolló en Isla Canela con el grupo Priconsa. Con este grupo entré como director y poco a poco, fui involucrándome en más áreas. El RCGS es una de las entidades con mayor masa social en el entorno. ¿Cómo ha sido el aterrizaje y las bases de su línea de trabajo respecto a los socios? Quizás este sea el aspecto que más ha cambiado. Isla Canela es un destino turístico muy comercial y con pocos socios. Sin dudas, este ha sido el cambio que más ha supuesto para mí. Un trabajo para una masa social de 2500 socios y en un club que requiere la mayor exigencia en todos los aspectos: golf, gastronómico, el servicio… Por ello, es una maravilla y un honor encabezar este equipo humano que trabaja por y para el socio y, a su vez, para los visitantes que vienen. El campo viene de una importante remodelación en los últimos años y una puesta a punto de gran nivel. ¿Tiene algún plan de mejora? La línea de excelencia a la que se ha llevado y en la que está actualmente el club en todas sus áreas, no solo el golf, sino también las instalaciones, las reformas de las pistas de tenis, de pádel, la zona de juego corto…evidentemente se va a seguir mejorando e innovando para impresionar al socio. En lo que a golf se refiere, se ha hecho una reforma integral. Durante 2015/2016 se volvió a rediseñar y a recuperar el modelo de Robert [Trent Jones] con los mismos bocetos del 64 y se ha vuelto a ese diseño inicial. Esto ha conseguido posicionar el campo a unos niveles top a nivel europeo. Aún quedan mejoras que hacer, como son los caminos o un master plan que tene-

mos de campo. Poco a poco, seguimos trabajando en estos detalles para seguir mejorando año a año. La Copa de las Naciones, una de las competiciones más emblemáticas para jóvenes promesas europeas. La pandemia la puso en cuarentena, ¿volverá en 2022? Sí, está fijada ya. Obviamente, dependemos de como vaya evolucionando esta situación. Pero, en principio, para finales de marzo o primeros de abril y las federaciones europeas ya tienen la fecha. Esperemos que se pueda recuperar y volver a tener este espectáculo amateur. ¿Cómo ve el segmento golf post-covid? Creo que estamos viviendo un boom, sobre todo en los clubes sociales. Considero que se ha visto que es un deporte muy seguro y, además, se han adoptado unas medidas sanitarias y de prevención muy estrictas. Las diferentes asociaciones, tanto la Asociación de Greenkeepers como la Federación Española han hecho un trabajo enorme y hemos sido capaces de aunar esfuerzos. Esto nos ha permitido que los clubes sociales estén teniendo resultados de nuevos socios, activaciones de licencias… Por lo que tenemos que ver el lado positivo de todo esto que estamos viviendo y seguir trabajando en esta línea. El sector del golf tiene que trabajar y hemos demostrado que cuando nos ponemos a ello y unos unimos se hacen las cosas muy bien. La restauración sigue siendo una referencia en la zona. El restaurante está enfocado exclusivamente al socio, a sus invitados y a los jugadores que vienen a jugar ese día. Y por supuesto, es uno de los valores añadidos más importantes, la oferta gastronómica del club es especial y nuestro chef, Mikel Landa, un puntal en el club. No para de formarse y de crear para seguir sorprendiendo.

¿Están creciendo el número de socios? Sí, sí. Los clubes sociales están viviendo un incremento de su masa social y nuestro club no es una excepción. Hay una demanda importante y esperemos que esto continúe y seamos capaces de mantenerles. ¿El resto de equipo que te has encontrado (trabajadores, hostelería, mantenimiento de campo…) qué tal? Genial. Mi recibimiento personal ha sido fantástico. Una de las cosas que más me sorprende de esta zona es el amor que hay por este deporte. Tanto en Sotogrande como en Guadiaro, hay un alto conocimiento de esta industria. Hay muchas familias vinculadas al golf y esto se nota cuando vamos a los locales del entorno: entras a un bar y hablan de golf, entras a un supermercado y también están hablando de golf. Esto creo que es la sensación más próxima que he tenido yo a lo que puede ser San Andrews o ese tipo de zonas. Es uno de los grandes valores que tiene este entorno. Rodearte de un equipo que juega y sabe de golf y que le guste hace que sea muy sencillo tratar con el cliente porque entiende lo que un golfista requiere. Es muy

difícil encontrar esto en otros lugares, al menos yo en otros sitios de España nunca lo he encontrado. Sólo me queda preguntarle por su faceta personal. Llegó en pleno verano y uno de los mejores de los últimos años, pese a la salida de la pandemia. ¿Qué tal en la urbanización? ¿Tiene ya lugar favorito en Sotogrande? En la familia todos somos golfistas, así que yo creo que nuestro sitio favorito es el mismo club. Sotogrande es un rincón especial y los que vienen aquí pues repiten. Tras la pandemia creo que la gente se está viniendo a vivir de forma permanente. Esto está ayudando a determinados negocios a abrir más tiempo y alargar esas temporadas. Es una gozada de sitio.

Delighted to welcome you after your first few months in the resort. Nothing less that the management and running of Real Club de Golf Sotogrande, one of the most emblematic and outstanding institutions. How are you tackling the challenge? I am tackling it with lots of enthusiasm, it is an important change. In my last few years, at Isla Canela, my task was more the general management of a group that managed different business models: golf courses, marina, property agencies... Here I am more fully returning to the sector that is my passion, for which I was educated in the United States. For me, Real Club de Golf de Sotogrande is “The Club of Spain”, I am enjoying this stage like a dream. South Carolina, Pamplona,

Lanzarote, Isla Canela,.. extensive experience and a very close relationship with senior management in golf. Tell us a little about how your relationship with this sport began and the leap up to devoting yourself professionally to it. My ties to golf began at Jaízquivel and ‘La Peñaza’, golf courses in Zaragoza and San Sebastián, where I was a member and where my passion arose. I began playing in the schools, I was part of the youth teams and, gradually, I delved deeper into the sport. I was also lucky to get a scholarship that enabled me to study business management focused on golf courses, in the United States. That period enabled me to discover that I loved the management of complexes linked to this sport. I began at Club de Campo Señorío de Sobastí and moved to a more commercial club, Lanzarote. In the last fifteen years everything was developed at Isla Canela with the Priconsa group. With this group I entered as manager and gradually got involved in more areas. The RCGS is one of the entities with the largest number of members in the area. How has the arrival been and the foundations of your line of work in relation to the members? Perhaps this is the aspect that has most changed. Isla Canela is a very commercial tourist destination with few members. Undoubtedly, this has been the biggest change for me. Working for a group of 2500 members and

at a club that requires the greatest demands in all aspects: golf, gastronomy, service... Therefore, it is wonderful and an honour to head up this team of staff that works through and for members and, in turn, for visitors who come. The course has undergone important remodelling in recent years and high level fine tuning. Do you have any improvement plans? The level of excellence to which the club has been brought to and where it currently is across all its areas, not only golf, but also the facilities, the renovations of the tennis and padel courses, the pitch and putt areas...is clearly going to continue to improve and innovate in order to impress members. With regard to golf, a comprehensive renovation has been undertaken. During 2015/2016 it was redesigned and the model of Robert [Trent Jones] was recovered with the same designs from ´64 and the course has returned to the initial design. This has managed to position the course at top European levels. There are still improvements to make, such as the paths and a master plan that we have for the course. Gradually, we continue to work on these details in order to continue to improve year after year. The Nations Cup, one of the most emblematic competitions for young European hopefuls. The pandemic put it into quarantine, will it return in 2022?

How do you see the post-Covid golf segment? I believe that we are experiencing a boom, especially in member clubs. I believe that people have seen that it is a very safe sport and, also, very strict health and prevention methods have been adopted. The different associations, both the Association of Greenkeepers and the Spanish Federation have undertaken an enormous amount of work and we have been able to pull together. This has enabled member clubs to have new members,

“For me, Real Club de Golf de Sotogrande is “The Club of Spain”, I am enjoying this stage like a dream” the activation of licences... Therefore, we need to see the positive side of everything that we are going through and continue to work in this line. The golf sector needs to work and we have shown that when we get to it and join together, things are done very well. The restaurant remains a benchmark in the area. The restaurant is exclusively focused on members, on their guests and the players who come to play that day. And of course, it is one of the most added values, the club´s gastronomic offer is special and our chef, Mikel Landa is a cornerstone at the club. He doesn´t stop learning and creating in order to continue to surprise.

Is the number of members rising? Yes, yes. Member clubs are experiencing an increase in members and our club is no exception. There is a significant demand and we hope that continues and that we can keep them. How about the rest of the team you have met (workers, catering, course maintenance...)? Fantastic. The way I have been received personally has been fantastic. One of the things that most surprises me about this area is the love that exists for this sport. Both in Sotogrande and in Guadiaro, there is a high level of knowledge of this industry. There are many families linked to golf and that is noticeable when you go to places in the area: you go into a bar and they are talking about golf, you go into a supermarket and they are also talking about golf. I think that this is closest feeling I have had to what St Andrews and those types of places might be like. It is one of the great assets of this area. Being surrounded by a team that plays and knows about golf and that you like makes it very easy to deal with clients because they understand what a golfer requires. It is very difficult to find this in other places, at least I have never found it in other places in Spain. All that remains is for me to ask about things on a personal level. You arrived in the middle of summer and one of the best in recent years, despite the emergence from the pandemic. How do you find the resort? Do you already have your favourite place in Sotogrande? We are all golfers in the family, so I believe that our favourite place is the club itself. Sotogrande is a special place and people who come here end up coming back again. After the pandemic I think that people are coming here to live permanently. This is helping certain businesses to open for longer and extend the seasons. It is a really delightful place.

Gran final de temporada para el Dressage Sotogrande El Dressage Sotogrande de San Roque cierra la liga de la VII Copa de Doma Clásica de Andalucía con 11 premios, y la gran satisfacción para Diego Ramírez, entrenador y director del Equipo, por la gran evolución de todos sus jinetes. Estas últimas semanas se han disputado las Finales Provinciales y Gran Final Territorial, y los 10 binomios del equipo que han afrontado esta competición, han copado los primeros puestos firmando la temporada con un palmarés de 7 Pódiums Provinciales y 4 Territoriales (2 Platas y 2 Diplomas de 4º y 5º clasificados). En la FINAL PROVINCIAL, celebrada en Málaga el pasado 31 de octubre en la Hípica La Paca (Benagalbón), la comitiva sanroqueña se trajo a casa 7 pódiums Provinciales. Cuatro Oros, que conquistaron la amazona británica Louise Thorne con Caramelo en la prueba Clásica; los linenses Curro Ramírez (11) con Daydream en la categoría Pony D, y Andrea Lozano (12) a lomos de Guardian en Infantiles; y la amazona algecireña Mariana Fernández (11) con la yegua PRE Shakira en la categoría de Pro-

moción 1. Dos Platas, una lograda por el jinete gibraltareño Julian Corbacho (13) a las riendas de la PRE Kira Promoción 2; y otra por la pequeña amazona linense María Vega (10) con su pony Morning en Asiento y Posición Pony. Y un Bronce, que se cuelga la amazona sueca afincada en Gibraltar, Karin Orsing a lomos de su yegua Condesa en la prueba Clásica. Y por fin, la GRAN FINAL TERRITORIAL, ansiado Broche de Oro de la VII Copa de Andalucía, escenificada durante el fin de semana del 27 y 28 de noviembre en el Centro Hípico de Granada. Final a la que han logrado llegar 8 binomios del Dressage Sotogrande, dejando todos, el pabellón de la Doma Clásica sanroqueña muy alta. Y cuatro de ellos dando la deseada Vuelta de Honor de los Campeones, reservada sólo para los cinco primeros clasificados de cada categoría. Dos Platas de Andalucía se han colgado respectivamente, la amazona algecireña Mariana Fernández con Shakira con una magnífica prueba que se quedó a media

décima del oro; y el pequeño pero experimentado jinete linense Curro Ramírez (11 años) en la categoría Pony D, montando a Daydream. Un cuarto puesto de Andalucía, para la también linense Andrea Lozano (12) con Guardian, que con una media de 69´3, ha quedado a solo tres décimas de un muy reñido y brillante podio de la categoría Infantil. Y una quinta posición en Clásica, para la amazona británica y entrenadora del Equipo, Louise Thorne con su caballo Caramelo, realizando una prueba limpia y técnica.

Por su parte, las compañeras en liza, la amazona de origen ruso, Antonina Morgalyuk (11) a lomos de su temperamental pony Eclipse en la categoría Pony B, queda en 6º lugar ejecutando una muy bonita repris. El noveno puesto andaluz de la categoría Clásica, lo ocupa la amazona sueca Karin Orsing, con la yegua PRE Condesa. Andrea Lozano Cadenas, una gran promesa de la Doma Clásica • La amazona con tan sólo doce años de edad se ha convertido en una de las grandes joyas de la cantera del Dressage Sotogrande y suma ya varios metales y preseas en diferentes competiciones regionales y territoriales. Una joya con marca de la casa. La amazona linense Andrea Lozano de 12 años, es sin duda una de las más prometedoras promesas de la Doma Clásica en nuestra comarca. Nieta del ganadero Agustín Cadenas, aprendió a montar a la vez que a andar. Sus primeros pasos los dio en el Cortijo el Conde, fantástico cortijo andaluz en el corazón de los alcornocales, legado de su abuelo para la cría del Pura Raza Español. A los Andrea 6 años ya estaba dando sus primeros trancos en la disciplina de Doma Clásica bajo la tutela del entrenador Diego Ramírez. Y a los 7 años ya comenzó a competir como parte del Dressage Sotogrande, con-

quistando desde entonces de forma rotunda los podiums a los que se enfrenta. Esta temporada 2021, a las riendas de Guardian y con medias de 69 y 70 en Infantil, se ha colgado medallas en todas sus salidas a pista, 3 Oros y 3 Platas, finalizando la brillante temporada siendo Oro Provincial de Málaga y 4ª de Andalucía en la Gran Final de la Copa de Doma Clásica, a solo tres décimas del podium territorial.

Lleva el amor por caballo español en la sangre, y este año, a pesar de su juventud, Andrea ya ha debutado en competición Territorial y Nacional a su futura montura, Única del Conde. Valderrama: la ópera prima del VIII Circuito de Golf Sotogrande •

El mítico y emblemático Real Club Valderrama acoge la gran final de la octava edición del Circuito.

Manuel Gil Un día para el recuerdo y para la memoria del Circuito de Golf Sotogrande. El mítico Real Club Valderrama acogió la Gran Final del VIII Circuito de Golf Sotogrande, una jornada insuperable para los clasificados y que difícilmente olvidarán. Un día intenso y lleno de emociones para los participantes. Desde su llegada a Valderrama, como siempre agasajados de manera exquisita por el personal del club; posteriormente recibieron un fantástico ‘Welcome Pack’ con una docena de regalos y obsequios por cortesía de la organización y marcas colaboradoras. Y después de todo eso, una sensación que llenó de elogias la calle de prácticas, disfrutar de un auténtico regalo para los amantes del golf como es enfrentarse a los 18 hoyos del Real Club Valderrama. Y encima, hacerlo tan sólo unas semanas después de acoger el Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucía Masters de Golf que coronó a Fitzpatrick. Del campo, poco que añadir. Valderrama se presentó como siempre en un estado excelso que hizo las delicias y asombró a los jugadores (no por muchas veces visto cambian algunas emociones). Y por supuesto, complicado y técnico para nuestros jugadores que no desestimaron los buenos consejos de los forecaddies que acompañaban las partidas. Tras la dura partida, la recompensa y el descanso del guerrero. Las instalaciones de la Casa Club de Valderrama acogieron el cóctel

y entrega de premios, también muy especial ya que la organización quiso innovar y dedicar a los ganadores de la final un trofeo muy especial, una obra realizara por el artista Víctor Campón. Además del cóctel, los asistentes disfrutaron de los vinos de Marqués de Riscal y la degustación con el corte en directo del maestro jamonero Popi, de una pieza de gran calidad. Javier Mielgo conquistó la Primera Cat. Caballeros, seguido de Antonio Ramírez; Brent Clarke fue el ganador de la Segunda Cat. Caballeros, seguido de Juan Jesús Rodríguez; mientras que en Damas, la victoria fue para Olga Merino seguida de Celia Nebot. Mención especial a los ganadores del Trofeo Invitacional, elenco formado por sponsors e invitados de patrocinadores; Óscar Villanueva se llevó la victoria, seguido de Juan Antonio Merino y Juan Pablo García-Lliberos. La organización también quiso premiar la fidelidad y regularidad, dando una premio a los diferentes ganadores del ránking de la temporada: Javier Mielgo (Primera Cat. Caballeros), Rafael Padillo (Segunda Cat. Caballeros) y Olga Merino en Damas. Agradecer un año más el apoyo de las firmas colaboradoras: AON, Gilmar Real Estate, Plazas Abogados, Marqués de Riscal, Land Rover, Urban, Popi Jamones y Hotel Club Marítimo Sotogrande.
