En las primeras páginas de esta colorida y muy social (fíjense en la sección de imágenes), edición de febrero de El Periódico de Sotogrande damos una de las noticias que más meses llevábamos esperando: la rehabilitación del cruce en la Av. de los Cortijos y su reapertura al tráfico. Una información que pone en calma a buena parte de los vecinos de Sotogrande Alto que venían sufriendo desde hace prácticamente un año [desde el pasado 7 de marzo de 2021], y que alteraba de manera mayúscula el acceso a sus viviendas, al nuevo hotel cinco estrellas de Sotogrande, a uno de los centros deportivos más concurridos de la urbanización y, entre otras cosas, una de las arterias principales de conexión del resort. ¡Bravo! Arreglado, solucionado, rehabilitado e incluso mejorado con una cuenca hidráulica de considerables dimensiones que cara al futuro será más segura para el paso del arroyo en arrastre de lluvias, así como la mejora y ampliación de espacios verdes en el entorno. Una brillante ejecución y concepción del proyecto. El problema llega precisamente por esa resolución de conflictos o de problemas de importante calado que tienen que manejarse entre administraciones que funciona a dos velocidades, por decirlo de una manera delicada. A este medio de comunicación le consta y así lo ha elogiado en más de una ocasión, la total y absoluta implicación de la entidad de conservación (también es su deber) por atajar con inmediatez la reconstrucción de la calzada y el planteamiento de un proyecto alternativo que mejorase lo que había (con varias décadas a su espalda). El bucle se produce cuando tienen que converger y convivir en armonía para la resolución del problema diferentes administraciones, en este caso: EUC, Ayuntamiento de San Roque y Junta de Andalucía; estas dos últimas de diferente signo e intereses políticos. En resumen: dos velocidades distintas. ¿Existe una alternativa más ágil y rápida? Tristemente, no. Y en esa dirección debería ir dirigida la reflexión. ¿Se puede encontrar un ente o protocolo de emergencia para actuar de oficio en casos tan alarmantemente necesarios por ser lesivo para los vecinos? Solucionemos el problema y luego pongámonos de acuerdo en competencias, responsabilidades y financiación. Esto ya lo hemos vivido con la desembocadura del río Guadiaro o el aporte de arena en la playa de Sotogrande. Trabajar en una misma dirección: el beneficio de todos, no siempre parece ser algo sencillo.

In the opening pages of this colourful and very social (look at the section of images) February edition of El Periódico de Sotogrande, we are offering one of the stories we had spent months waiting for: the renovation of the crossroads on Av. de los Cortijos and its reopening to traffic. Information that brings calm to a large number of residents in Sotogrande Alto who had been suffering for practically a year (since 7 March 2021), and that had seriously affected access to their properties, to the new five-star hotel in Sotogrande, to one of the busiest sports centres in the resort and, among other things, one of the main arteries in the resort. Bravo! Fixed, resolved, renovated and even improved with a water basin of considerable size for the future will be safer for the movement of the stream following rains, as well as the improvement and extension of green spaces in the area. Excellent execution and design of the project. The problem comes precisely with the resolution of significant conflicts or problems that have to be handled between administrations, which works at two speeds, to put it delicately. This media outlet is aware and has praised on more than one occasion, the complete and total involvement of the conservation entity (as is its duty) to immediately tackle the reconstruction of paving and propose an alternative project that improved what there was (which was several decades old). The loop occurs when different administrations have to converge and live in harmony in order to resolve the problem, in this case: UCE, the Council of San Roque and the Regional Government of Andalusia; the latter two with different political sides and interests. In short: two different speeds. Is there a more agile and quicker alternative? Sadly, no. And reflection should be aimed in that direction. Is it possible to find a body or emergency protocol for acting ex officio in such alarmingly necessary cases as they are damaging for residents? We should resolve the problem and then reach an agreement on competencies, responsibilities and funding. We have already experienced this with the mouth of the Guadiaro river and the provision of sand on Sotogrande beach. Working in the same direction: for the benefit of everyone, doesn´t always seem to be easy.

El golf: locomotora ‘premium’

Golf: a premium driving force

El golf ha sido y será parte de la esencia innata de Sotogrande desde su propia fundación y los inicios de la urbanización. Los primeros pasos y cimientos fundacionales del resort se levantan alrededor del propio Real Club de Golf Sotogrande y desde entonces, el idilio histórico entre este majestuoso deporte y el desarrollo y crecimiento de Sotogrande como destino vienen prácticamente de la mano. Incluso en muchos ciclos económicos desfavorables (lo pudimos comprobar allá por 2008 y más tarde en la recuperación en forma de U), que el golf seguía siendo una apuesta segura y una gran locomotora para la generación de negocio y empleo en el Valle del Guadiaro. Pero es un tren ‘premium’, al que sólo deben y pueden subirse quiénes hacen bien los deberes. Precisamente, como reflejan los últimos datos que publicamos en esta edición de El Periódico de Sotogrande, el golf camina al alza con una tendencia de crecimiento superior al 5% lo que se traduce en un importante impacto económico en todo el sector vinculado a este deporte. No se pierdan las cifras que son más que interesantes. El principal valor, en clave Sotogrande, llega precisamente porque este momento de tendencia alcista aterriza en un periodo cumbre para la urbanización, por su revitalización absoluta del sector. Lógicamente, como faro y referencia en la constante búsqueda de la excelencia, el Real Club Valderrama abandera internacionalmente el resort. Por su perfecta armonía entre sostenibilidad y los más altos estándares de calidad. Un prestigio al que también se suma el Real Club de Golf Sotogrande, otra de las entidades más emblemáticas de la urbanización y que hace sólo unos años llevó a cabo un ambicioso proyecto de rehabilitación y reforma. Y lo mejor de todo es que el entornor no ha perdido el tiempo. El panorama es brillante, incluso a un paso de caso, el extraordinario Finca Cortesín siempre figura entre los mejores resorts del continente, más ahora como sede de la Solheim Cup 2023. Golf has been and will continue to be part of the innate essence of Sotogrande since it was founded and the beginnings of the resort. The first steps and foundations of the resort were created around Real Club de Golf Sotogrande and since then, the historic idyll between this majestic sport and the development and growth of Sotogrande as a destination have practically gone hand-in-hand. Even in many unfavourable economic cycles (we could see it back in 2008 and later in the U-shaped recovery), that golf remained a safe bet and a great driving force for the generation of business and employment in Valle del Guadiaro. However, it is a premium train, those only those who do their homework well should and can get on. Indeed, as the latest data we have published in this edition of El Periódico de Sotogrande shows, golfs is on the up with a growth trend of over 5% which results in a significant economic impact in the entire sector linked to this sport. Don´t miss out on the figures which are very interesting. The main asset, in terms of Sotogrande, comes precisely because this upward trend has arrived at a peak moment for the resort, due to its complete revitalisation of the sector. Logically, as a beacon and benchmark in the constant pursuit of excellence, Real Club Valderrama flies the flag internationally for the resort. Thanks to its perfect harmony between sustainability and the highest quality standards. Prestige that also extends to Real Club de Golf Sotogrande, another of the most emblematic entities in the resort and only a few years ago it carried out an ambitious rehabilitation and renovation project. And the best thing of all is that the area hasn´t wasted time. The San Roque Club ended an extremely important remodelling and rehabilitation project of the Old Course barely a year ago, at an extremely high level. A process that the Links course of La Hacienda is also immersed in, with a significant investment in the improvement of a course that is already spectacular. Fin de obra y reapertura al tráﬁco, del cruce en la Avenida de los Cortijos Bien está lo que bien acaba, de la manera más práctica para los vecinos de Sotogrande, pese a la dilatación de más de 11 meses en el tiempo. La Entidad Urbanística de Conservación Parques de Sotogrande, el principal impulsor y promotor en solucionar esta situación desde el inicio (es justo reconocerlo), informó felizmente de la conclusión de los últimos trabajos acometidos de asfaltado y señalización, para finalizar la de reconstrucción de los viales en el cruce de la Avenida de los Cortijos con Avenida del Carmen a su paso por el arroyo de Guadalquitón. Según explica, “definidos en el proyecto de ejecución aprobado por las administraciones competentes (Junta de Andalucía y Ayuntamiento de San

Roque)”. Tras su notificación al Consistorio el pasado viernes 11 de febrero, como ya adelantó en exclusiva el día anterior Sotograndedigital.com, ya cuenta con el permiso municipal para reanudar el tráfico rodado de vehículos en dicha zona de la urbanización. Desde la entidad agradecen la “comprensión y paciencia demostrada por los vecinos durante estos meses y esperamos que el resultado final de la obra sea de su agrado. Cuya inversión entre todos los agentes participantes ronda los 500.000 euros. Por echar la vista atrás, recordar que la rehabilitación del cruce de la Av. de los Cortijos, se produce a casusa del hundimiento de la vía el pasado mes de marzo (por el fuerte

Ancha es Castilla y León El dicho popular “ancha es Castilla” se aplica a la Comunidad de Castilla y León en términos geográficos, al ser la autonomía más extensa de España –nuestra Andalucía ocupa el segundo lugar. Pero tras las elecciones no cabe aplicarlo a todos los partidos en su significado coloquial, que se refiere a la falta de obstáculos para actuar. El 13 de febrero solo tuvieron realmente un resultado amplio Vox y los partidos locales. El Partido Popular alegó que había logrado una gran victoria, que hay que inscribir después de Galicia y Madrid, y antes de Andalucía, en el camino que llevará a Pablo Casado al Palacio de La Moncloa. Esto es absurdo, porque el PP cosechó un mal resultado: perdió votos con respecto a las últimas elecciones, y solo podrá gobernar con ayuda de otros; dado el éxito de Vox, la formación de Santiago Abascal entregará su apoyo a Fernández Mañueco a un precio elevado, empezando por la entrada en el Gobierno. También es desatinada la estrate-

gia del PSOE, que, como obviamente sufrió en las urnas un varapalo apreciable, ha optado por insistir en que no cabe extrapolar los resultados castellanoleoneses a toda España, y por agitar el fantasma de la ultraderecha. Como si todos los partidos no se hubieran tomado la cita con las urnas allí en clave nacional, y como si la demonización de Vox no hubiera tenido como efecto animar a su electo-

rado cada vez más. Descartando a Ciudadanos, un partido muy debilitado, y a Podemos, que mengua hasta convertirse en el mero sustituto de Izquierda Unida, es posible que le quede al señor Mañueco alguna alternativa a Vox, incluyendo a los partidos provinciales e incluso al PSOE, que podría intentar un viaje al centro; en cualquier caso, un acuerdo con Vox, que sin duda es

costoso, sería probablemente mejor para el PP que la salida en falso de la repetición electoral. Dicho posible acuerdo, o su ausencia, afectará a las próximas elecciones andaluzas. España sigue inclinándose a la derecha. Pero en términos de estrategias políticas claras y eficaces, Castilla y León puede no ser tan ancha como algunos políticos desearían.

However, clear and effective political strategies, Castile and León may not be as wide as some politicians would like.

Sotogrande companies collaborate in the collection of funds for Nuevo Hogar Betania The renowned photographer Alexis de Vilar donated his powerful artwork, “Signare of Gorée Island holding her baby”, to raise money for the charity Nuevo Hogar Betania in 2021. To maximise funds raised Sotogrande SA, Construcciones B.Solís, SG Plus, Grupo HCP and Benjumea Arquitectos, came together to purchase the work, donating 3,400€ and the picture to the charity. The artwork will take pride of place at the shelter in La Linea, which offers assistance and a place to stay for the

most vulnerable people in our society. Nueva Hogar Betania works hard to offer people who live on the streets, or find themselves without a home due to an emergency, a home as well as the support they need to deal with the many problems they face. As well as their shelter, they also advocate and campaign for the rights of the most vulnerable people in the society and collaborate with other associations, charities and government organisations to offer help

to people who really need it. During the COVID-19 pandemic they have had to significantly increase their services to offer a place for homeless people to quarantine as well as preparing and delivering food to 64 elderly people and providing food and essential items to 687 families needing extra help. El golf en España se contagia de la recuperación económica • El número de licencias federativas mantiene por segundo año la inercia ascendente y suma algo más de 13.160 nuevas licencias respecto al curso anterior, una cifra cercana al 5%. • El Valle del Guadiaro y el entorno de Sotogrande incrementa su cuota de licencias hasta las 3.882 en sus clubes, casi el 10% del total andaluz. El sector del golf creció con un gran impulso durante este relativamente positivo año 2021 en el que muchos sectores han visto una importante cota de recuperación. Ello se ve reflejado con la continuidad en crecimiento, con un porcentaje positivo en licencias federativas, que ya recuperó el pasado curso. El golf español concluyó el año 2021 con 284.954 federados lo que supone un incremento superior al 4,8% (13.166 licencias, respecto al pasado curso con 271.788 federados (2020) y años anteriores: 2019 (271.470) federados, 270.219. Esta cifra supone un incremento absoluto de 13.166 licencias durante el pasado ejercicio, que en términos porcentuales es un 4,8% más que a primero de año. Ambos registros, tanto el absoluto como el porcentual, constituyen un cambio positivo de tendencia en un periodo especialmente complicado por la crisis sanitaria del coronavirus y consolida por segundo año consecutivo la inercia alcista y la ruptura de nueve años consecutivos de decrecimiento experimentado en el periodo comprendido entre 2010 y 2018, coincidiendo con buena parte de la prolongada crisis económica y cambios sociales que han condicionado durante muchos años el desarrollo de sectores muy diversos de la sociedad española. Este último trienio confirma asimismo una tendencia iniciada en

2013, cuando se alcanzó el pico de decrecimiento –en concreto un 6,0%– posteriormente aminorado en 2014 (-3,7%), 2015 (-2,7%), 2016 (-1,5%), 2017 (-0,5%) y 2018 (-0,3%) antes de dar paso al citado crecimiento del 0,1 % en 2019 y 2020 y del 4,8% en 2021, lo que dibuja una curva que, en términos estadísticos, se entiende como punto de inflexión desde el citado momento. Tomando como referencia un periodo temporal mayor, es preciso recordar que en 1990 había 45.000 jugadores en España; el listón de los 100.000 se rebasó en 1996; se registraron 200.000 en los primeros meses de 2002; a mediados de 2004 se contabilizaron 250.000 y a finales de 2006 se superó la barrera de los 300.000 federados. El pico máximo de número de licencias se produjo en 2010, cuando hubo 338.588 federados, iniciándose desde entonces el proceso de curva de inflexión descrito anteriormente. Mujeres y cantera del golf en España Hay que destacar que el número de licencias femeninas se sitúa en la actualidad por encima de las 79.000, lo que supone un 27,9 % del total de licencias de golf en España. De todas ellas, 44.471 corresponden a mujeres mayores de 50 años, 22.465 a

mujeres comprendidas entre 21 y 50 años y 12.060 a menores de 21 años, con mención especial para las 8.547 menores de 16 años. Entre los más jóvenes, resaltar que la cantera del golf español se asienta sobre 24.600 niños y niñas menores de 16 años –casi 36.000, en concreto 35.938, si se extiende el rango de edad hasta los 21 años–, lo que en términos porcentuales supone el 8,6 % o el 12,6 % del total de federados, respectivamente. Destacar en este caso que continúa ampliándose poco a poco la base del golf español, ya que a primero de 2015 había 21.530 menores de 16 años –33.682 hasta los 21 años–, lo que en términos porcentuales suponía en-

tonces el 7.6 % o el 11.9 %, respectivamente. Datos por Comunidades Autónomas En términos absolutos, Madrid, con 87.685 federados, concentra el 30,8 % del total de licencias

Comunidad Valenciana (19.791), País Vasco (17.623), Castilla y León (13.696) y Galicia (11.455) son las otras Comunidades Autónomas que superan la barrera de los 10.000 federados. La que más licencias ha sumado durante el ejercicio de 2021 ha sido Madrid, 4.725 federados (un 5,7% más), seguida de Andalucía (2.602 federados, un 5,7% más).

Mientras que Almenara Golf se posiciona con un

total de 154 licencias, pese a estar hasta el pasado agosto en plenas obras de remodelación. Real Club de Golf Valderrama cuenta con 241 federados (crece en 11 registros); y La Reserva Club crece hasta los 116 registros para el nuevo curso (+17 respecto al pasado año).

These last three years also confirms a trend started in 2013, which the peak of decline was reached –specifically 6.0%– and which was subsequently less in 2014 (-3.7%), 2015 (-2.7%), 2016 (-1.5%), 2017 (-0.5%) and 2018 (-0.3%) before moving to the aforementioned growth of 0.1 % in 2019 and 2020 and 4.8% in 2021, which presents a curve that, in terms of statistics, is considered as a turning point away from the aforementioned moment. Taking a larger time frame as a reference, it is necessary to remember than in 1990 there were 45,000 players in Spain; the bar of 100,000 was surpassed in 1996; 200,000 were recorded in the first few months of 2002; by the middle of 2004 there were 250,000 and by the end of 2006, the barrier of 300,000 federated players was surpassed. The maximum peak in the number of licences took place in 2010, when there were 338,588 federated players, and since then the aforementioned process of the turning point

mente en esta época del calendario, la presencia de numerosos de estos vehículos estacionados, cada mañana, en el aparcamiento de la playa.

Torreguadiaro, campamento base para autocaravanas

Punto de encuentro y lugar estratégico para el estacionamiento y una breve parada en el camino. El aparcamiento de la playa de Torreguadiaro se ha convertido en uno de los lugares más concurridos en las últimas semanas para el aparcamiento y pernoctación de numerosas autocaravanas. Este fenómeno no es nada nuevo, ya que desde hace varios años, especialmente durante los meses de invierno, se convierte en lugar de concentración (con un flujo constante), para estos vehículos. Como pueden comprobar en las imágenes que ilustran este reportaje, las cuáles son de hasta

dos jornadas diferentes, el movimiento es constante e incluso los fines de semana se incrementa el volumen. Al menos,

deja una imagen curiosa de la inmersión completa de Torreguadiaro en las diferentes rutas y guías que siguen estos vehí-

culos en sus continuas expediciones a lo largo de diferentes geografías y recorridos. Respecto a su nivel regulativo; encontramos la última ordenanza cursada por el Ayuntamiento de San Roque y publicada en el Boletín Oficial de la Provincia de Cádiz Nº130 (el 11 de julio de 2016); en el que manifiesta la necesidad de establecer un marco legal que fije a nivel municipal la situación de las autocaravanas en el localidad. Recoge en la regulación la igualdad de uso y derechos que cualquier otro vehículo en el tránsito por la vía pública siempre y cuando, como acentúa en el Art. 4.3, que no obstaculice o incordie su estacionamiento o partes anexas (toldos, ventanas exten-

sibles, etc.), al normal funcionamiento y tráfico de la zona en cuestión. También recoge el mismo artículo en su siguiente punto que deben respetar las normas reguladas en cuanto a vertidos y ruidos e incluso, deja la constancia de que las zonas habilitadas para el estacionamiento de las mismas pueden tener un máximo de 96 horas. Con el objetivo de garantizar la rotación de los aparcamientos y espacios pertinentes entre los demandantes de dichas localizaciones. En definitiva, una nueva oportunidad para abrir un mercado en la desestacionalización de la campaña invernal, con mayor consumo de servicios y que repercute en rotación turística para el Valle del Guadiaro.

Torreguadiaro, base camp for motor homes • Every year it becomes a very common photo, especially at this time of year, the presence of several of these vehicles parked, every morning, in the beach car park. A meeting point and strategic place for parking and a brief stop on the journey. The car park of Torreguadiaro beach has become one of the busiest places over recent weeks for parking and the overnight stays of several motor homes. This phenomenon is nothing new, as for several years, especially during the winter months, it becomes a gathering place (with a constant flow) for these vehicles. As you can see in the images illustrating this report, which are from two different days, movement is constant and the volume even increases at weekends. At least, it offers an intriguing image of the complete immersion of Torreguadiaro in the different routes and guides that these vehicles follow on their ongoing expeditions through different regions and routes. With regard to regulations; we find the last by-law issued by the Council of San Roque and published in the Official Bulletin of the Province of Cadiz No. 130 (on 11 July 2016); which outlines the need to establish a legal framework that establishes the situation of motor homes in the area at a municipal level. The regulation outlines the equal use and rights as any other vehicle travelling on the public thoroughfare provided that, as highlighted in Art. 4.3, it does parking or annexed parts (awnings, extendable windows, etc.) do not hinder normal operating and traffic in the area in question. In its following point, the same article also states that they must respect the regulations relating to dumping and noise, and it even states that the areas provided for parking motorhomes can be for a maximum of 96 hours. This is in order to guarantee the rotation of parking and the relevant spaces among those seeking those

Mancomunidad hace entrega de los VII Premios Comarcales en Castellar El Teatro Andalucía, en Castellar de la Frontera, acogió la entrega de los VII Premios Comarcales de la Mancomunidad de Municipios del Campo de Gibraltar, en un solemne acto institucional que ha contado con la participación de presidente del ente comarcal, Juan Lozano, y del Delegado del Gobierno de España en Andalucía, junto a los alcaldes y concejales de los ocho municipios. Los galardonados fueron: con una Mención Especial a los trabajadores esenciales de los Servicios Públicos de agua y residuos de la comarca; al Comité Ciudadano Antisida, la asociación Bandera Rosa, las empresas Guadacorte SA y Castellar GP, el futbolista Juan Diego Molina “Stoichkov”, la periodista María Quirós, el pintor y escultor Manuel Reiné y el actor Álvaro Morte. El alcalde de Castellar, Adrián Vaca, agradeció a la Mancomunidad la elección de su municipio como ciudad anfitriona de esta

Association of Municipalities awards VII Provincial Prizes in Castellar The Teatro Andalucía, in Castellar de la Frontera, hosted the presentation of the VII Provincial Prizes of the Association of Municipalities of Campo de Gibraltar, in a formal institutional event that involved the participation of the president of the provincial body, Juan Lozano, and of the Delegate of the Government of Spain in Andalusia, along with the mayors and councillors of eight municipalities. The winners were: with a Special Mention to the essential workers of the Public Services for water and waste in the province; the Anti-Aids Civil Committee, the Pink Flag association, the companies Guadacorte SA and Castellar GP, the footballer Juan Diego Molina “Stoichkov”, the journalist María Quirós, the pain-

ter and sculptor Manuel Reiné and the actor Álvaro Morte. The mayor of Castellar, Adrián Vaca, thanked the Association of Municipalities for the choice of

his municipality as a host city at this city, and he outlined his satisfaction at the fact that this formal event also coincided with the commemoration of the 50th

Reclaman más claridad del gobierno local sobre el TG-22 Un tema siempre candente sobre la mesa y complejo de solucionar. Jesús Mayoral – concejal portavoz del PIVG, reclamó al alcalde de San Roque, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, y su equipo de gobierno de mostrar un estilo de actuación “opaco” sobre todo lo relacionado con la parcela municipal del TG-22, en Torreguadiaro. Según recapitula el portavoz del grupo, “el 20 de Octubre, de 2020, se acordó por el Pleno de la Corporación, con nuestro voto en contra, la restitución de las cosas/prestaciones entre VVEERH y el Ayuntamiento tras el recurso presentado por esta sociedad, solicitando una indemnización millonaria al dejar desierto el concurso de adjudicación de la parcela en el año 2002, después de casi 20 años pleiteando esta empresa con la otra mercantil, SOTOGOLF, que quedó en segundo lugar

y el TSJA y el TS, en casación, hizo firme la sentencia del primero de la anulación de la adjudicación a VVEERH. A partir de este acuerdo plenario el ayuntamiento, a pesar de haber puestos recursos de reposición tanto de WERH, como del PIVG, aunque por motivos totalmente diferentes, por supuesto los del PIVG, en defensa del ayuntamiento, el ayuntamiento pagó un primer anticipo con una transferencia de 4.280. 756,11 euros por el importe recibido de la venta de la parcela en el año 2002”. También añade que el alcalde “no contestó a ninguno de los dos recursos y después de transcurrido un año, asombrosamente en el Pleno de octubre del año 2021 nos traen una propuesta de acuerdo de declarar lesivo al interés general el acuerdo adoptado el 29 de octubre del año 2020, para su posterior impugnación

ante la jurisdicción contenciosa administrativa, requiriendo a la empresa VVERH que proceda a la devolución de la cantidad abonada por el por el ayuntamiento, por incumplimiento de ésta del acuerdo del pleno, y conceder un plazo de audiencia a la empresa VVERH. En ese pleno, además es cuando nos comunican, que esta empresa tiene puesto un contencioso administrativo contra el acuerdo del ayuntamiento porque quieren cobrar toda la indemnización millonaria que pretenden, ocultando este hecho al Pleno durante meses”. Para el PIVG, en la actualidad se mantiene “la misma situación respecto al acuerdo de lesividad aprobado en el Pleno de octubre de 2021, con los votos del equipo de gobierno, en el que se reclama la cantidad abonada, anun-

ciando la impugnación ante la jurisdicción contenciosa administrativa y dándoles 10 días de audiencia. Desconocemos el resultado de la audiencia y si como se aprobó se ha realizado la impugnación al contencioso. No sabemos si nos tendrán más sorpresas sobre acontecimientos que nos estén ocultando del ya famoso TG 22, y que aún no hemos llevado al contencioso por parte del PIVG, porque el al-

More clarity demanded from local government on TG-22 Always a hot topic on the table and difficult to resolve. Jesús Mayoral – spokesperson for PIVG, accused the mayor of San Roque, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, and his government team for displaying an “opaque” way of acting for all matters relating to the municipal plot TG-22, in Torreguadiaro. As the group spokesperson summarised “on 20 October, 2020, the Plenary of the Corporation agreed, with our vote against, to restore the things/ provisions between VVEERH and the Council after the appeal submitted by this company, requesting compensation of millions after not awarding the tender for the plot in 2002, after almost 20 years of this company litigating with the other company, SOTOGOLF, which finished second and the Supreme Court of Andalusia and the Supreme Court, in an appeal, issued a firm ruling of the first to annul the awarding to VVEERH. Following that plenary agreement, the council, despite replacement appeals from both WERH and the PIVG, although for completely different reasons, of course those of the PIVG, in defence of the council, the council paid a first down payment with a transfer of 4,280, 756.11 Euros for the amount received for the sale of the plot in 2002”. He also added that the mayor “did not respond to any of the two appeals and after a year, amazingly in the Plenary of October 2021 brought us an agreement proposal to declare the agreement adopted on 29 October 2020 harmful to general interest, for its subsequent challenge before the contentious-administrative jurisdiction, asking the company VVERH to pay back the amount paid by the council, for the breach of the agreement of the plenary, and to award a hearing period to the company VVERH. Doing the test is very easy: read the 12 statements and focus on all the ones you identify with or agree with. Be careful to answer what you actually think, not what it is supposed that you should think: 1. There are two types of people, those who always win and those who always lose. 2. If things aren´t going well with them, they will have done something to deserve it, it isn´t my problem. 3. It is better not to resolve conflicts through dialogue, they could end up going against me. 4. People do not change or learn much once they are adults. 5. Things are the way they are, and it is better not to waste time by thinking too much about why. 6. The statement that money doesn´t bring happiness, that is a big lie. 7. If we were truly all connected and made to get along, there wouldn´t be so much injustice in the world. 8. “Every man for himself”, taking advantage of the weaknesses of others for my own benefit is natural to the human condition. 9. Be careful about being grateful because then people take advantage of you. 10. Those really beautiful mountains... who do they belong to? 11. The person for whom everything is going well, they will get their lesson in life, soon... 12. It is useless to try to resolve the conflict that I have with that person through mediation, he/ she matters to me, but I have already tried everything and it hasn´t worked. If you identify with more than 3 statements, then, at the moment, there is almost certainly, a rotten apple in your inner basket that is bringing you or that will bring you problems. It is unlikely that you will be able to take the initiative to resolve disagreements through consensual dialogue or mediation. Of course, I would encourage you to get informed about the benefits that meditation offers as a conflict resolution method and, in any case, talk to people who think differently to you. Simply listening to them without judging is an exercise that will help you to gradually transform and release yourself from the blocking beliefs that are causing you problems.

Educación International Day can a las áreas STEM ha tenido lugar un completo programa de actividades, talleres y conferencias impartidos por científicas de nuestro entorno, creando referentes femeninos que contribuyan a la elección de carreras profesionales de estas áreas. El colegio ha celebrado una jornada internacional, INTERNATIONAL DAY, coordinada por profesores y alumnos del Programa del Diploma del Bachillerato Internacional en la que ha participado todo el centro. Cada curso ha realizado un recorrido por los diferentes países, sus tradiciones, idiomas, gastronomías, deportes, bailes y cultura en general con el objetivo de fomentar una mentalidad internacional en los participantes. Este mes hemos conmemorado la paz como actividad principal. Según una leyenda japonesa, la de la historia de Sadaco, tu mayor deseo se hará realidad si construyes mil grullas de papel. El alumnado de nuestro centro ha reflexionado sobre La Paz y expresado a través de sus grullas los deseos para conseguirla. Las hemos plasmado sobre un mural del patio del cole con el retrato de su protagonista. Además, del mes de enero destacamos algunas mejoras en el centro, sobre todo los Paneles interactivos para todas las clases de infantil, que nos ayudan en el camino a al digitalización. Nos gustaría contar que inauguramos una mini campaña llamada ¡los lunes sí son la leche!, con la que repartiremos un vaso de leche a todo el alumnado que desee degustarlo, hasta agotar las existencias proporcionadas por la Junta dentro de nuestro programa ‘Creciendo en salud’. Growing and boosting values such as peace and health This month we have commemorated peace as the main activity. According to a Japanese legend, that of the story of Sadaco, your biggest wish will come true if you build one thousand paper cranes. The pupils at our school reflected on Peace and expressed their wishes to achieve it through their cranes. We depicted them on a mural in the school playground with the portrait of its star. Quirónsalud Campo de Gibraltar presenta sus nuevas instalaciones Fantástica noticia para la Comarca la presentación y puesta de largo de las nuevas instalaciones del hospital Quirónsalud Campo de Gibraltar. El centro sanitario recibió la visita institucional de autoridades sanitarias y civiles que conocieron las nuevas instalaciones del hospital que tienen prevista su puesta en marcha en las próximas semanas. Se trata de los dos nuevos niveles --5ª y 6ª plantas-- que se acaban de integrar a la oferta asistencial de Quirónsalud en la comarca y que subrayan el compromiso del grupo sanitario por consolidar su vocación de prestar un servicio sanitario de máxima calidad a los pacientes de la provincia de Cádiz. La puesta en marcha de los nuevos servicios supondrá la creación de 30 nuevos puestos de trabajo además de los profesionales médicos que comenzarán a prestar sus servicios en las unidades que se incorporan. They involve two new floors -5 and 6- that have been added to the healthcare offer of Quirónsalud in the province and they highlight the commitment of the health group to consolidate its vocation of providing a top quality healthcare service to patients in the province of Cádiz. The launch of the new services will result in the creation of 30 new jobs as well as the medical professionals who will begin providing their services at the units that are being added. The tour began on the fifth floor, reserved for hospitalisation, which is spread out over 28 rooms equipped with the latest technology in information systems and communication to improve the accessibility of patients to care services such as a tablet with which they can connect with the nursing control, and also select their menu preferences or browse on the internet or access television platforms. The provision of the rooms will increase the current hospital stay capacity by 30%, with almost 100 beds now. Plantean restricciones a partir de abril por la alarmante sequía en la Comarca •

La mesa de Sequía adopta medidas para disponer 20 hectómetros cúbicos en los embalses a 30 de septiembre y garantizar el abastecimiento a la población a la espera de las lluvias del próximo otoño. Las restricciones de agua se iniciarán el próximo 18 de abril si no se producen las ansiadas precipitaciones.

M. Gil / Redacción Cumpliendo con lo establecido en el Plan de Sequía aprobado por Consejo de Administración de la empresa pública comarcal ARCGISA y bajo la presidencia de Juan Lozano, tuvo lugar una nueva sesión de la Mesa de Sequía. El encuentro contó con la participación de los repre-

sentantes de los ocho ayuntamientos campogibraltareños junto a los responsables técnicos de las empresas que gestionan el abastecimiento de agua en la comarca (ARCGISA, EMALGESA, EGAL y Aguas del Valle del Guadiaro), a los que se unieron los representantes

de la AGI y los grupos ecologistas comarcales. Ante las actuales previsiones meteorológicas y la persistente ausencia de precipitaciones, partiendo de la actual situación de los embalses Guadarranque y Charco Redondo, y con la finalidad de garantizar el abastecimiento de agua en el Campo de Gibraltar durante el mayor tiempo posible, la mesa de sequía ha adoptado una serie de medidas entre las que destaca el inicio de las restricciones de agua a la población a partir del próximo 18 de abril, salvo que se produzcan las ansiadas precipitaciones. Las medidas supondrán la disminución de la presión en el agua abastecida de forma que se logre un ahorro que determine poder alcanzar unos 20 hectómetros cúbicos de agua en los pantanos a 30 de septiembre, de tal forma que se garantice con ello el suministro a la

población del Campo de Gibraltar hasta la finalización del presente año, y siempre a la espera de las lluvias del período comprendido entre octubre y diciembre, época en la que tradicionalmente se producen mayores precipitaciones en la comarca. Así mismo, durante la sesión se ha dado cuenta del conjunto de medidas adoptadas hasta el

momento actual, señalando la necesidad de reforzar la vigilancia de la prohibición de consumos no esenciales, como el riego de jardines, baldeo de vías públicas, entre otros, solicitándose para ello la implicación de los gobiernos locales mediante bando municipal y bajo el estricto control de la policía local.

In compliance with what is established in the Drought Plan approved by the Management Board of the provincial public company ARCGISA and under the presidency of Juan Lozano, a new session of the Drought Committee took place. The event involved the participation of representatives from the eight councils of Campo de Gibraltar alongside the technical management of the companies that manage water supply in the province (ARCGISA, EMALGESA, EGAL and Aguas del Valle del Guadiaro), which were joined by representatives of the AGI and provincial ecological groups. Faced with the current meteorological forecasts and the persis-

tent lack of rainfall, beginning with the current situation in the Guadarranque and Charco Redondo reservoirs, and in order to guarantee the supply of water in Campo de Gibraltar for as long as possible, the drought committee has adopted a series of measures notably including the start of water restrictions for the public from 18 April, unless the eagerly-awaited rainfall occurs. The measures will result in a reduction of the pressure on the water supplied in a way that achieves savings that make it possible to attain 20 cubic hectometres of water in reservoirs by 30 September, in a way that thus guarantees the supply to the population of Campo de Gibraltar up until the end of the year and

always awaiting the rainfall of the period between October and December, the period when the largest rainfall in the province traditionally takes place. Likewise, during the session the series of measures adopted thus far was announced, outlining the need to reinforce monitoring of the ban on non-essential consumption such as the irrigation of gardens, cleaning of public roads, among others, thus requesting the involvement of local governments through municipal edicts and under the strict control of the local police.

Da sus primeros pasos el proyecto para la marca “Campo de Gibraltar” La Mancomunidad Municipios comarcal acogió la primera sesión del proceso de auditoría para el desarrollo de la marca “Campo de Gibraltar”, bajo la presidencia de Juan Lozano en la institución. Este primer encuentro de trabajo, que reunió a numerosos representantes de todos los municipios y de diferentes sectores económicos, políticos y socioculturales de la comarca, permitió conocer el proyecto que dará vida a la nueva marca Campo de Gibraltar. La agencia algecireña Apolo, propulsora de Marcas, fue la encargada de llevar a cabo la presentación del proyecto, resaltando las claves y el valor estratégico de poseer una marca territorial fuerte y consolidada para mejorar la

marca “Campo de Gibraltar”, resultante del proceso participativo que hoy iniciamos, debe ser herramienta esencial para atraer al turismo e inversión empresarial a la comarca”. Los asistentes a la jornada pudieron responder a un cuestionario telemático en el que

competitividad de nuestra comarca. En este sentido, el Presidente Lozano indicó que “la marca debe ser capaz de crear la simbiosis específica entre los valores de la comarca y su posicionamiento de cara al exterior, de forma que esta

Project for “Campo de Gibraltar” brand takes its first steps The provincial Association of Municipalities hosted the first session of the auditing session for the development of the “Campo de Gibraltar” brand, under the presidency of Juan Lozano in the institution. Movement and the brain

Comenzamos a sentir el inicio del buen tiempo, con más horas de luz y el privilegio de un entorno espectacular. Nuestra comarca nos ofrece distintos parajes. Desde el ambiente marino hasta maravillosos bosques, como el cercano parque natural de Los Alcornocales. Esto de alguna forma nos debería invitar a la acción y al movimiento. Nuestro cuerpo está diseñado genéticamente para moverse. Durante miles de años el ser humano necesariamente tuvo que emplearse a fondo en este aspecto, ya que de ello dependía su supervivencia. En la actualidad esa necesidad ha disminuido considerablemente, entre otros motivos, debido a las comodidades de la vida cotidiana, en cuya inercia es fácil sumergirse, agravando patologías no solo a nivel físico, sino igualmente mental y emocional. A nivel cerebral, según el neurocientífico irlandés Shane O´Mara, más concretamente en su libro In Praise of Walking (“De los beneficios de caminar”), el andar nos ayuda a agudizar los sentidos, aumentando nuestra atención y creatividad. Repercute en el incremento de algunas funciones ejecutivas, como la memoria y aprendizaje. Además, por si esto fuera poco, se van generando una serie de neurotransmisores que nos permiten percibir la vida con otros ojos. Obituario Triste noticia para toda la comunidad de Sotogrande y especialmente para la gran familia de aficionados al golf en la urbanización. Lamentar el fallecimiento de Óscar Villanueva Calleja, a los 52 años de edad, tras sufrir un ataque cardiaco que desafortunadamente provocó el peor desenlace posible. Óscar Villanueva era una persona más que reconocida y querida entre la comunidad golfística de la zona, con una enorme vinculación al Real Club de Golf Sotogrande y siendo a lo largo de los años uno de los más fieles e infatigables seguidores y participantes del Circuito de Golf Sotogrande desde las primeras ediciones, competición que organiza esta casa desde 2013. Óscar era un imprescindible en todas y cada una de las pruebas del circuito, siempre acompañado de su cariñosa esposa Olga, llegando a convertirse, gracias a su amable y entrañable carácter, en uno de los participantes más queridos por el resto de jugadores, sencillamente por su abrumador carisma ya que su deseo siempre fue el de pasar desapercibido. Su bonhomía y personalidad desinteresada le hizo ganarse el respeto y afecto de todos los jugadores del circuito y por supuesto de la organización que en numerosas ocasiones tuvo a bien hacerle partícipe como invitado en algunas de las pruebas o incluso animarle a participar en el acto de entrega de premios. Resaltar que en más de una ocasión por sorpresa, de manera desinteresada y generosa, aparecía con algún regalo para el sorteo de premios destinado al resto de participantes. Desde Grupo HCP Sotogrande y en nombre del resto de toda gran familia que forman los participantes del Circuito de Golf Sotogrande, transmitir el más sentido pésame a sus familiares y amigos en tan duros momentos. Óscar Villanueva siempre ocupará un lugar especial en la memoria de esta editorial y por supuesto, en el torneo de golf.

Arranca con mucha fuerza el XII Campeonato Interclubes Redacción Comenzó el XII Campeonato Interclubes reuniendo a algo mas de 30 embarcaciones de La Línea, Algeciras, Sotogrande, Estepona, Ceuta y Gibraltar con unas condiciones inmejorables para los regatistas. Los ganadores de la cita fueron: ORC 1-2: Luna VI, Altarik IV y Kouko; ORC3: Enigma, Flamenco y Belesala; y REDUCIDA: Titikaka, Senador II y Miralejos Se cumplió la previsión meteorológica en la primera prueba organizada por el Real Club Marítimo de la Línea y el oficial de regata dio la

salida a la hora prevista frente a la Línea de la Concepción con un recorrido barlovento sotavento de 12 millas para la flota ORC 1-2, y de 6 millas para la flota de ORC 3 y tripulación reducida con baliza de desmarque y salida conjunta. Con salida al viento de levante de unos 10 nudos, tomaron la baliza de desmarque frente a la playa de poniente de la Línea de la Concepción y procedieron con el spí arriba hasta la baliza de la playa del Rinconcillo, con un barlovento hasta la llegada, siendo dos vueltas para

ORC1-2 y una vuelta para ORC3 y Reducida. Tras la prueba, el Real Club Náutico de la Línea organizó la tradicional comida marinera, que fue acogida con entusiasmo por la flota tras un 2020 y 2021 marcado por la pandemia. XII Inter-Club Championship makes strong start Sad news for the entire Sotogrande community and especially for the large family of golf fans in the resort. We mourn the passing of Óscar Villanueva Calleja, at the age of 52, after he suffered a heart attack which unfortunately had the worst possible outcome. Óscar Villanueva was a very renowned and beloved person among the golfing community in the area, with great ties to Real Club de Golf Sotogrande and over the years he was one of the most faithful and tireless followers and participants of Sotogrande Golf Circuit since the early editions, a competition that this outlet has organised since 2013. Óscar was an indispensable figure at each and every one of the circuit´s events, always accompanied by his affectionate wife Olfa, and thanks to his kind and charming character, he become one of the participants most loved by the other players, simply thanks to his overwhelming charism as his desire was always to go unnoticed. His kind-heartedness and selfless character earned him the respect and affection of all the players on the circuit and of course, of the organisers who on several occasions invited him as a guest to some of the events or even encouraged him to participate in the awards ceremony. It is worth highlighting that on more than one occasion, as a surprise, he selflessly and generously appeared with gifts for the prize draw for the other participants. At Grupo HCP Sotogrande and on behalf of the rest of the entire big family formed by the participants of Sotogrande Golf Circuit, we want to convey our sincerest condolences to his family and friends at such a tough time. Óscar Villanueva will always hold a very special place in the memory of this editorial team and of course, in the golf tournament.

Stacy Lewis, ganadora de dos torneos del Grand Slam como el Kraft Nabisco de 2011 y el Open Británico Femenino de 2013, ha sido nombraba capitana del equipo de Estados Unidos que se enfrentará al combinado de Europa en la Solheim Cup 2023, competición que se disputará en Finca Cortesín, Málaga (España), del 22 al 24 de septiembre. La jugadora estadounidense nació hace 37 años en Toledo, Ohio, EE.UU, curiosamente, la localidad en la que se disputó la Solheim Cup de 2021 y que vio como el equipo del Viejo Continente se hacía con el triunfo por 15 a 13. Sin duda, un aliciente más para que la nueva capitana lidere a las mejores 12 golfistas estadounidenses en pos de un triunfo que se les resiste desde 2017. “Es todo un honor haber sido elegida como capitana del equipo de EE.UU. de la Solheim Cup 2023 y quiero dar las gracias al Comité por haber pensado en mí para ocupar este cargo tan importante”,

declaró Lewis. “Tengo unos recuerdos maravillosos de cuando he formado parte del equipo. Me encanta la Solheim Cup y espero que 2023 sea una gran experiencia para mi equipo, tal y como lo fue para mí cuando tuve la oportunidad de vestir los colores rojo, blanco y azul”, continuó. El trofeo de la Solheim Cup 2023 en Finca Cortesín inicia su viaje La Real Federación Española de Golf ha sido el escenario escogido para la primera parada del “Viaje del Trofeo”, una iniciativa de la Solheim Cup 2023 que hará que la copa de esta competición recale en gran parte de los clubes de golf españoles y que se desarrollen distintas actividades de promoción ideadas y organizadas por estas voluntarias. Esta competición se celebrará en Finca Cortesín. El trofeo comenzará su viaje en Madrid, de la mano de los jugadores de la escuela nacional Blume, y recalará a continuación en varios clubes de la comunidad; acudirá al RCG Las Palmas a mediados de febrero para la III Victory Cup, para saltar posteriormente a la isla de Tenerife donde tendrán lugar varios actos instituciones y promocionales. En su vuelta a la península Castilla La Mancha recogerá el testigo, para proseguir después el viaje por todo el territorio nacional. Exposiciones, ruedas de prensa, clinics, torneos especiales, asistencia a eventos de otras disciplinas deportivas… Todas estas acciones se irán sucediendo a medida que el trofeo recale en las distintas ciudades que tienen el honor de formar parte de este proyecto, y generarán la oportunidad de dar a conocer el golf femenino en distintos ámbitos sociales, potenciando la motivación de la sociedad en general por el golf.

Stacy Lewis, captain of United States team at Solheim Cup 2023

Stacy Lewis, winner of two Grand Slam tournaments, the Kraft Nabisco in 2011 and the Women´s British Open in 2013, was named captain of the United States team that will face the Europe team at the Solheim Cup 2023, a competition that will take place at Finca Cortesín, Málaga (Spain), from 22 to 24 September. The American player was born 37 years ago in Toledo, Ohio, United States, curiously, the area where the 2021 Solheim Cup was held and which saw the European team take victory by 15-13. Undoubtedly, another incentive for the new

captain to lead the 12 best American golfers in pursuit of a victory that has escaped them since 2017. “It is a real honour to have been selected as captain of the United States team for the Solheim Cup 2023 and I want to thank the Committee for thinking of me to take on this very important role” declared Lewis. “I have marvellous memories of when I was part of the team. I love the Solheim Cup and I hope that 2023 is a great experience for my team, as it was for me when I had the chance to wear the colours red,

white and blue” she continued. In addition to two majors, Stacey Lewis has 13 victories on the LPGA and was world number one for 25 weeks between 2013 and 2014. In 2012 and 2014 she was named Rolex Player of the Year on the LPGA. And in 2016 she represented the United States at the Olympic Games in Rio, where she finished fourth. As for the Solheim Cup, the American golfer defended the team of the stars and stripes at the 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2017 editions. And subsequently, in 2019, she was assistant to the captain, Juli Inkster, a role she repeated two years later alongside Pat Hurst. When the Solheim Cup 2023 takes place, Stacey Lewis will be 38 years, six months and six days old, which will make her the youngest American captain in the history of the Solheim Cup and the second youngest of both teams. Patty Sheehan led the American team aged 45, while Catrin Nilsmark was 36 when she led the European team in 2003.

Trophy of 2023 Solheim Cup at Finca Cortesín begins its tour The Royal Spanish Golf Federation was the setting chosen for the first stop of the “Trophy Tour”, an initiative of the 2023 Solheim Cup that will see the cop of this competition come to a large number of Spanish golf clubs and have different promotional activities devised and organised by these volunteers. This competition will take place at Finca Cortesín. The trophy will begin its tour in Madrid, alongside the players of the Blume national school, and it will them stop off at several community clubs; it will come to RCG Las Palmas in mid-February for the III Victory Cup, before then moving to the island of Tenerife, where several institutional and promotional acts will take place. On its return to the peninsula, Castilla La Mancha will take up the baton, before the tour then continues around the country. Exhibitions, press conferences, clinics, special tournaments, attendance at events of other sporting disciplines... All these actions will gradually take place as the trophy comes to the different cities that have the honour of forming part of this project, and they will create the chance to promote women´s golf in different social settings, booting the motivation of society in general for golf.

Gil El Club de Golf Municipal La Cañada afrontará un ajetreado e intenso periodo electoral en la próximas semanas, especialmente, al confirmarse, según ha contrastado El Periódico de Sotogrande, que finalmente se presentarán dos listas a la votación de la Asamblea General Extraordinaria, prevista para el 1 de abril, para dirimir a la próxima Junta Directiva. Por un lado, concurre la candidatura continuista del actual presidente de la entidad, Ángel Gutiérrez, con una larga trayectoria vinculada a la gerencia del club, y que se presenta nuevamente para una reelección. Mientras que la lista alternativa, la configuran un grupo socios liderados por Ana Vega, una figura muy activa y dinámica en las actividades del club y con gran influencia y participación en la comunidad golfística local (desde hace algunos años estrechamente vinculada a la organización del Torneo de Damas). En caso de haberlas, se resolverán entre el 5 y 7 del mes de abril y se proclamará la candidatura ganadora el próximo 8 de abril. the Extraordinary General Meeting with the opening of ballots from 9:00 to 20:00. After the electoral day ends, a vote count will be carried out and the results will be published, with a planned period for appeals between 2 and 4 April. If there are any, they will be resolved between 5 and 7 April and the winning candidate will be named on 8 April. The electoral process can be fo-
