De cara al próximo verano, probablemente a finales y con fechas de septiembre [prácticamente a la vuelta de un año]; ya se plantea la apertura de la primera fase del cinco estrellas Fairmont que plantea La Hacienda justo con balcón al Mar Mediterráneo, Gibraltar y el norte de África. Si le dedican unos minutos al excelente especial de Educación que llevamos en esta edición en el cuadernillo interior de periódico, verán como uno de los datos más relevantes, que la masa escolar y la población académica en Sotogrande y el Valle del Guadiaro ya se asoma a las 3.000 personas. Una cifra importante, notable, significativa e indicativa de la inercia que lleva de crecimiento poblacional la zona, hace apenas unos 5 años rozábamos el segundo millar; y en la actualidad cuando los contadores se equilibren al inicio del próximo mes con toda seguridad superen los 3.000 alumnos.

La obra “Nuevo edificio multiusos, aparcamiento y urbanización exterior en Torreguadiaro” ha sido adjudicada
Destacó el alcalde que el “edificio va a contar con 52 plazas de aparca miento a disposición de los distintos comerciosyvecinosdeTorreguadiaro que van a tener la oportunidad de contar con esos aparcamientos en rotación, para que puedan atender servicios, bares, restaurantes, y cual quier tipo de actividad que se ofrezca en esta barriada”.
El alcalde, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, realizó una visita a los trabajos y ade lantó que espera poder inaugurar este nuevo edificio el 28 de febrero, uncompletoedificioquedispondráde aparcamiento público, oficina de al caldía, talleres para la UP, Centro de Salud, local para un bar-restaurante y una plaza pública.

por la Mesa de Contratación a la em presa “Grupo Poblador, Construcción e Infraestructuras, S.L.U.”, por un im porte de 1.218.347,43 euros, más 268.121,20 euros de IVA. El plazo de ejecución es de doce meses. El proyecto pretende dar satisfacción a los siguientes requisitos: dotar a la zona de Noreste de San Roque, y en particular al núcleo de población de Torreguadiaro, de un edificio adminis trativo que contemple la reubicación de los servicios socio sanitarios (con sultorio médico), alcaldía de barrio y servicios complementarios. Por otro lado, se contempla dotar de un espa cio de estancia a modo de plaza ele vada para el disfrute junto al mar, así como un aparcamiento semi oculto.
El edificio también alberga una de pendencia para aula, taller, sala de reuniones y cafetería, y los aseos co rrespondientes. En planta semi-só tano se encuentra el uso principal de aparcamiento. Así, la planta sótano albergará los espacios para las insta laciones del edificio y también da ac ceso al aparcamiento que aparece semi enterrado con capacidad de 55 plazas de garaje.
En la planta torreón se localizan el almacén, el cuarto de limpieza del edificio y el cuarto de máquinas y el acceso a la cubierta general del edifi cio. En lo referente al espacio público urbano, cuenta con diferentes espa cios que se agrupan en: urbanización y plaza-mirador. Los espacios de ur banización quedan compuestos por: viario exclusivo peatonal, viario mixto (peatonal/rodado), jardineras en su perficie y en altura, y en último lugar zonas de terreno natural mejorado.

Como es tradición, el Colegio Interna cional de Sotogrande (SIS) lidera el número de estudiantes inscritos para este curso en la zona. Este año afronta el curso superando el millar de alumnos en sus aulas (concreta mente 1210), lo que supone un mí nimo descenso respecto al censo del pasado curso pero en una línea as cendente extraordinaria con más de un millar de escolares en sus instala ciones. Respecto al volumen de mul ticulturalidad en su aulas, destaca que el 70% de los mismos sean de origen extranjero, haciendo muy rica su comunidad culturalmente. Hasta más de 50 nacionalidades diferentes conviven entre sus clases; siendo la predominante la española seguida de la británica. Destacar, además de las más habituales, procedencias tan exóticas como Botswana, Arabia Saudí, Egipto, Santo Domingo o Ma lasia. A mediados de los años sesenta, Buenos Aires era un hervidero en todos los aspectos. Los ecos de la Guerra de Vietnam llegaban muy atenuados, el Rock argentino resur gía con fuerza y todo aquel que se preciara leía a Mafalda. El golpe de estado del sesenta y seis coincidió con el final de mis estudios de Bellas Artes. Mis currículos dormían en los archivos de todos los colegios de la ciudad, por lo que decidí continuar dibujando para no perder la mano ni las esperanzas.Laprimera vez que la vi, llamó mi atención su aspecto desvalido, de marioneta antigua. Posándose, más que ca minando, sobre el suelo empedrado del cementerio. Sor teando con sus viejos zapatos de tacón los charcos de una lluvia reciente. A pesar de un cielo amenazante y de un viento que iba a más, ella vestía de violeta de los pies a la cabeza. Su cuerpo se balanceaba como una ramita de la vanda sobre unas piernas delgadas, enfundadas en unas medias de red rotas por los talones.Andaba lentamente, con un bolsito de terciopelo y pasamanería en una mano mien tras que con la otra hacía esfuerzos sobrehumanos para que su sombrerito de raso violeta no saliese volando.

Pasaron varias semanas hasta que terminé los bocetos de los grupos escultóricos que rodeaban al cristo, por lo que me decidí a cambiar de banco. Al principio me pareció un poco morboso disfrutar tanto con algo tan sensual como el dibujo, rodeado como estaba de féretros, flores de tela aja das, banderas descoloridas y enseñas militares maltratadas por el tiempo y el olvido.

The first time that I saw her, her helpless appearance, like an old puppet, caught my attention. Sitting, more than walking, on the cobbled ground of the cementery. She was walking slowly, with a velvet bag and trimmings in one hand while with the other she made superhuman efforts to ensure that her violet satin hat did not fly off.

El Tango

I was embarassed to see how Graciela was bearing her soul in front of the tomb wi thout noting my presence. I felt I could sense, in those mo ments where her weeping crossed the gloomy space that separated us, how a repentant rapist might feel. The woman suddenly looked at me, and that was when all the pain that her heart had gone through over those weeks before my eyes, began to take shape, acquire weight and volume.
The memory of Graciela has not left me for even a single day after so many years. When she disappeared, I didn´t tell anybody what had happened. I kept it solely for me, for my enjoyment. But with the passing years, I needed to tell my friends, when they arrived, my children, and today, the reci pients of the story are my grandchildren.

In the mid sixties, Buenos Aires was a hotbed in all ses nses. The echoes of the Vietnam War arrived very muffled, Argentine rock re-emerged strongly and any self-respecting person read Mafalda. The coup of sixty-six coincided with the end of my Fine Art studies. My Cv´s slept in the archives of the schools in the city, therefore I decided to continue in order not to lose my skill or hope.
Buenos Aires. Until, after visiting the Basilica of El Pilar, I sat down on a stone bench in the cemetery of La Recoleta, tur ning my back, after apologising for doing so in silence and on a daily basis, on the tomb of Guillermo Brown, sailor and national hero. From there, I had a privileged angle from which to draw the figure of the crucified Christ that looked over the main promenade. Eight streets split off from it like the eight points of a stone star among which the tombs of the most important people were spread.
One of those mornings on which Graciela blessed herself in front of the Christ and continued on her way next to the tomb of the politician Domingo Sarmiento, I decided to follow her. She walked slowly, moving past the monument to Ba sualdo Borrego, slowing down her pace as she got closer to the corner She turned left and I saw how she stopped in front of a mausoleum of black marble and a modernist de sign. The local player Ángel Ayora finished run ner-up with cards of 69+72+69+71 for a total of 281 shots.TheSwiss player Jean Leon Aeschlimann completed the final round with a great card of 66 shots (-5) which was unattainable for the other competitors. In the competition of the weekend in Fuengirola, on the men´s side, the semi-finals of the Beach Volleyball Spanish Championship began with a great match between Daniel Moreno and Roberto Sanfélix and Javier Monfort alongside Pablo Pérez which went to the Valencian pairing in a very close tie break. In the other game, Herrera and Gavira comfortably beat Mesa and Kamenov to reach the other final. The evening session provided a spectacle to match the level of the pairings that had gathered on the sand in Fuengirola. The bronze in the men´s category went to Daniel Moreno and Roberto Sanfélix, who showed why they were the favour ites to beat Raúl Mesa and Zdravko Kamenov in three sets.
