Turismo, ese gran motor “sostenido” y “sostenible” Fundador/Editor Grupo HCP SOTOGRANDE:

Nos llenamos la boca, quizás en demasiadas ocasiones, a la hora de hablar de turismo, crecimiento, expansión, evolución, incremento de cifras y todos los epítetos que quieran encontrar para hablar de volumen, aumento y en definitiva, más cifras para la hoja de Excel de la cuenta de explotación y ventas. Nada más lejos de la realidad y nada más lejos de lo que realmente necesita un destino tan selecto y particular como podría ser Sotogrande. Lo mostramos en medio mundo, acudimos a la World Travel Market, ITB de Berlín, IGTM de Golf, FITUR y un sinfín de grandes ferias y certámenes en los que el turismo es la palabra clave y mostramos el mundo la verdadera joya que tenemos en el interior del Valle del Guadiaro; es parte de lo que radica en nuestros quehaceres como destino y lugar de turismo residencial. Pero si algo se extrajo con mucha fortaleza en el XIV Foro Empresarial Sotogrande, una de las principales ideas, retos y objetivos que se debatieron en la sala del Real Club Valderrama, fue precisamente la necesidad de instaurar un turismo de calidad y sostenible en Sotogrande. Crecer el valor, crecer en el segmento lujo, crecer en calidad y servicios, pero eso no tiene porque llevar adosado el apellido de incrementer el volumen o los guarismos hacia un turismo “masivo”. La sostenibilidad de un destino no se encuentra únicamente ligada o vinculada a la práctica de energías más limpias, elementos de construcción más sensibles con el medio o tarifazos en emisiones y demás efectos contaminantes y residuos. Ese turismo sostenido y sostenible también va en que no se necesita un ingente número de turistas y crecer en estadísticas; el turismo masivo puede ser el peor enemigo de un lugar único como este. Sotogrande debe seguir caminando y apostando por la calidad, más allá de la cantidad.

Tourism, the great “sustained” and “sustainable” driving force We fill our mouths, perhaps too often, when it comes to talking about tourism, growth, expansion, evolution, increase in figures and all the epithets you could wish to find to talk about volume, an increase and ultimately, more figures for the Excel spreadsheet of the operating and sales account. Nothing could be further from reality and further from what such a select and unique destination like Sotogrande really needs. We have exhibited it to half the world, we attended the World Travel Market, ITB in Berlin, the IGTM of Golf, FITUR and endless major fairs and events where tourism is the key word and we showed the world the true gem that we have in inland Valle del Guadiaro; it is part of what lies in our chores as a destination and place of residential tourism. However, if something strongly emerged from the XIV Sotogrande Business Forum, one of the main ideas, challenges, and objectives debated in the lounge at Real Club Valderrama, it was indeed the need to establish quality and sustainable tourism in Sotogrande. Grow in value, grow in the luxury segment, grow in terms of quality and services, but that doesn’t have to go with the label of increasing volume or the figures in a move towards “mass” tourism. The sustainability of a destination is not solely linked to the practice of cleaner energy, more environmentally friendly building or high tariffs on emissions and other polluting and waste effects. Sustained and sustainable tourism is also about the fact that it is not necessary to have a huge number of tourists and grow in terms of statistics; mass tourism can be the worst enemy of a unique place like this. Sotogrande must keep going and commit to quality rather than quantity.

Comprometidos con la excelencia Escribo esta carta desde fuera de Sotogrande, algo que quiénes me conocen sabes no es nada inusual en mí mostrar los atractivos de nuestro destino por medio mundo. En esta ocasión lo hago desde Madrid y por una grata ocasión, sólo unas horas antes de mandar a imprenta esta edición recibía en nombre de todas las personas que componen Grupo HCP Sotogrande el Premio Nacional a la Excelencia por nuestro libro de bienvenida Absolute Sotogrande. Sin duda, un espaldarazo tantos años y esfuerzos por tratar de plasmar nuestro destino en diferentes formatos y medios, siempre con la mayor calidad y trascendencia posible. Por ello, déjenme agradecer a todas las firmas, marcas y personas (de nuestra empresa y fuera de ellas), que creen firmemente en la comunicación de calidad y que confían su éxito en el nuestro; y su triunfo también es el nuestro. Por lo que este premio también es un poco de todos ustedes, lectores, marcas y personas vinculadas a nuestra casa. Las dejo un breve fragmento de mi discurso de agradecimiento tras recibir el galardón. “Venía pensando en el AVE esta tarde, cuando subía desde Sotogrande; precisamente en ingente cantidad de trenes, aviones, noches de hoteles, kilómetros y vueltas que le he dado al mundo. Tanto yo como la mayoría de los que estamos aquí sentados y nos dedicamos a este bello oficio de la comunicación. Un viaje en todos los sentidos de la vida en el que siempre he mantenido una idea y objetivo firme en todas y cada una de las acciones, proyectos y publicaciones en las que he participado: hacer las cosas bien, con criterio y calidad. De lo bueno, lo mejor. Por ello, esto simplemente es una parada más en el camino y en el viaje. Gracias a todos por este entrañable reconocimiento, pero que sirva también como inspiración de que todo aquello que se hace pensando en lo más alto, acaba obteniendo su merecido reconocimiento. Un impulso para seguir trabajando por la verdad y una comunicación honesta y de calidad. Más necesaria que nunca en estos tiempos”. La Gran Final del X Circuito de Golf Sotogrande, el XIV Foro Empresarial Sotogrande, los reconocimientos a Valderrama y La Hacienda o los nuevos emprendimientos empresariales que vive nuestra zona son, una vez más, ejemplos del compromiso por la excelencia. Committed to excellence I am writing this letter from outside Sotogrande, those of you who know me know that it is nothing unusual for me to be showcasing the attractions of our destination around the world. On this occasion I do so from Madrid and on a gratifying occasion, just a few hours before this edition went to print I received, on behalf of everyone who is part of Grupo HCP Sotogrande, the National Award for Excellence for our welcome book Absolute Sotogrande. Undoubtedly, a great endorsement of so many years and efforts to reflect our destination in different formats and media, always with the greatest quality and impact. Therefore, allow me to thank all the brands and people (from our company and from outside it) who firmly believe in quality communication and who place their success in ours; and their success is also ours. Therefore, this prize is also a piece of all you, readers, brands and people linked to our brand. Here is a short fragment from my acceptance speech after receiving the award. “Coming here on the AVE train this afternoon, up from Sotogrande, I thought about the huge number of trains, planes, hotel nights, kilometres and times I have been around the world. Both I and most of us sat here work in this beautiful profession of communication. A journey in every sense in life on which I have always maintained a firm idea and objective in each and every one of the actions, projects and publications I have participated in: doing things well, with judgement and quality. El sector turístico desborda positivamente todas las previsiones de negocio Unos resultados que, según la consultora Catenon, reclama la renovación de los profesionales de este sector, orientada a tres grandes pilares: el Bienestar, la Sostenibilidad y la Digitalización. El 80% de los empleos son de carácter indefinido, lo que demuestra la estabilidad del mercado laboral en el sector, donde la temporalidad ha caído un 20%. El actual 2023 cerrará con el mayor crecimiento del sector turístico español en los últimos 10 años. Unos resultados que, según la consultora Catenon, reclama la renovación de los profesionales de este sector, orientada a tres grandes pilares: el Bienestar, la Sostenibilidad y la Digitalización. Ni la pandemia, ni la guerra de Ucrania han frustrado estas expectativas y el objetivo ahora en mantener este ritmo de desarrollo que ha aportado el 60% de crecimiento de la eco-

nomía española y el 12,2% del PIB. De acuerdo con Turespaña, el turismo español ha alcanzado cifras históricas este verano, y el alza del sector se ha visto reflejado también en los datos de empleo en este sector, que creció un 5,1% respecto al año anterior en el mes de agosto, por encima de los datos de agosto de 2019, el

último año antes del efecto de la pandemia. Además, el 80% de los empleos son de carácter indefinido, lo que demuestra la estabilidad del mercado laboral en el sector, donde la temporalidad ha caído un 20%. En total, 2.759.166 españoles ocuparon en el mes de agosto empleos vinculados a las actividades turísticas,

134.836 más que el mismo mes del año anterior. De acuerdo con estos datos, un 13,5% de los afiliados de la economía nacional corresponden ya al sector turístico. Destaca que un 81,8% de todos los trabajadores en turismo son asalariados y los afiliados de este tipo han crecido un 6,2% respecto al año anterior. Por su parte, los traba-

jadores autónomos, que suponen el 18,2% del total de afiliados, también han aumentado, aunque a un ritmo más moderado del 0,7%. La hostelería impulsa al sector Entre los diferentes tipos de actividades dentro del sector turístico, la rama que más afiliados acumula es la hostelería, que ha sido también la que ha registrado mayor número de nuevas altas, con 81.721 nuevos trabajadores. Así, el número de empleados en actividades relacionadas con el servicio de bebidas y comidas ha aumentado en 55.262, mientras que el incremento en afiliados en servicios de alojamiento fue de 26.459. Las agencias de viajes y turoperadores, por su parte han registrado un aumento de 5.795 afiliados, y las 47.320 altas restantes responden al resto de actividades.

Pactos y precios Todo sugiere que la confluencia entre la izquierda, la extrema izquierda y los independentistas favorece más a los dirigentes que a los ciudadanos, que se verán forzados a pagar un elevado precio por sus pactos. Carlos Alsina, director del programa “Más de Uno” en Onda Cero, en el que participo diariamente, puso el dedo en la llaga al analizar el documento sobre la amnistía, suscrito entre el PSOE y Junts, en el que no encontró ninguna medida pensada para mejorar la vida de los españoles. Hay muchas medidas, en cambio, que benefician a los firmantes, empezando porque los independentistas obtuvieron una garantía de impunidad para los actos delictivos cometidos por sus cabecillas y militantes, mientras que la izquierda logró los votos para un nuevo Gobierno. La condonación de la deuda catalana, o de las demás autonomías, las transferencias de los impuestos o los ferrocarriles de cercanías a Cataluña, o de la Seguridad Social al gobierno vasco, que acordaron PSOE y PNV, o asumir el “relato” histórico de los nacionalistas, no son muestras de progreso para la gente, y mucho menos lo

es el desmantelamiento de la independencia de los jueces y la división de poderes. Lógicamente, no es así como lo ven los firmantes de los pactos. Ahora bien, mientras que los nacionalistas pueden reivindicar logros en sus exigencias, el PSOE tiene más dificultad a la hora de explicar que ha conseguido claros beneficios para el pueblo y no solo para Pedro Sánchez. Lo que argumentan desde el socialismo es que han asegurado la convivencia en Cataluña, porque los nacionalistas han renunciado a la unilateralidad para llegar a sus últimos objetivos. Como es obvio, a esto siempre se puede replicar que dicha renuncia se debe a que el PSOE les ha concedido lo que reclamaban, y que siempre podrán replantear sus demandas en el futuro si creen que las cesiones que obtienen son insuficientes. Vienen tiempos difíciles, sin duda, en los que la serenidad de los españoles será puesta a prueba, pero en los que también se verá si sus autoridades harán también frente al precio de los pactos que imponen a sus súbditos.

Logically, this isn’t how the signatories of the pacts see things. However, while nationalists can claim achievements in their demands, the PSOE has greater difficulty when it comes to explaining that it has achieved clear benefits for the people and not only for Pedro Sánchez. The socialists claim that they have ensured coexistence in Catalonia, because the nationalists have given up on

unilateralism in order to achieve their ultimate aims. Obviously, it is always possible to respond that this renunciation is due to the fat that the PSOE has granted them what they wanted, and that they can also put forward their demands again in the future if they believe that the concessions obtained are insufficient. Undoubtedly, difficult times are coming in which the serenity of the Spaniards will be tested, but in which it will also be seen if they authorities will also pay the price of the pacts which they are imposing on their subjects.

El libro de bienvenida a Sotogrande de Grupo HCP Sotogrande recibe en Madrid, por parte del prestigioso club de editores CLABE, uno de los galardones más reconocidos a nivel nacional para una publicación impresa.

Grupo HCP Sotogrande y su compromiso con la excelencia. El libro de bienvenida Absolute Sotogrande, en su edición de 2022-2024, recibió por parte parte del prestigioso club de editores CLABE el Premio Nacional a la Excelencia, un galardón que respalda la apuesta y firme compromiso por la calidad y las publicaciones de primer nivel como objetivo fundamental del grupo editorial que además cumple su 25 aniversario con su cabecera más emblemática, El Periódico de Sotogrande. La ceremonia de entrega de premios, organizada por CLABE, se llevó a cabo en el Centro CaixaForum de Madrid, coincidiendo además con los actos de investidura a

la Presidencia del Gobierno. Al evento asistieron personalidades y asociaciones del sector como Miguel Ángel Noceda, presidente de la FAPE, o Paloma del Río, veterana periodista de RTVE; además de Víctor Francos, presidente del Consejo Superior de Deportes; Carme Artigas,

Un centenar de asistentes acuden a la cita anual del tejido empresarial de Sotogrande y su área de influencia para analizar los principales novedades, activos e inquietudes de los diferentes sectores profesionales del resort a nivel socio-económico. El Real Club Valderrama sirvió de escenario de excepción para esta XIV edición de una de las citas más importantes del calendario profesional en el entorno, ya que en pocas ocasiones se logra congregar al músculo em-

También, desde un punto de vista golfístico e inmobiliario, apoyado en la celebración de grandes eventos en la zona como LIV Golf en Real Club Valderrama, está ayudando a abrir una mayor ventana y escaparate hacia mercados tan importantes, económicamente hablando, como son los norteamericanos con perfiles de visitantes y potenciales inversores en Estados Unidos o Canadá. También, los conflictos en el Este de Europa y Oriente Próximo, están abriendo también mercados a clientes que buscan residencias de gran nivel en un espacio de garantía, seguridad y tranquilidad. Son clientes con alto poder adquisitivo pero también con un escalafón de exigencia muy elevado. En esta línea, también desde los perfiles más legales de la sala, se analizó la necesidad de contar con un marco jurídico y legislativo que ayude a transmitir, precisamente, esta imagen de un destino comprometido con la inversión y el desarrollo económico que el actual marco político, con la inestabilidad que ello genera, no siempre acompaña a fortalecer estas oportunidades. La seguridad legal, los impuestos patrimoniales o la situación de no residentes, son conceptos contar con un nivel de garantías muy elevado para no frenar el desarrollo de destinos tan importantes y con tanto poder de tracción de capital como es Sotogrande. Las nuevas promociones, desarrollos inmobiliarios y la puesta a punto de entidades privadas de primer nivel (en el que las del sector deportivo, a través de grandes eventos de escala internacional), logran consolidar y posicionar una marca, que quizás debería estar más unificada, pero que cuenta con un importante peso específico en el sector del lujo y alto nivel. Posicionar el destino, la imagen de marca y elevar el nivel y calidad de servicios sigue siendo una de las máximos en el compromiso de todas las entidades activas. Todos estos nuevos proyectos se ven consolidados con el aumento de población estable durante todo el año que también se traduce en matriculaciones en los centros escolares y otros servicios anexos. The main lines of analysis and of the talk to take the pulse of the

progress and economic development of the resort, analysed the different guidelines that contribute to boosting the image of Sotogrande as a high quality destination, with the best services and the best alternatives; managing to take that increasingly marked turn, going from being a holiday location to becoming a main home location. The positive evolution of the destination, with notable differences with Marbella and other similar destinations, boost an image of a Sotogrande that is stronger than its competitors, increasingly opening up to being a place to live in throughout the year and implement investments and businesses in the area. Provided that the idea of being a prime destination is maintained and quality is not confused with quantity, we must always eschew mass growth and exponential development. Qualitative growth is always preferred as the differential and unique value of Sotogrande. Also, from a golfing and property

perspective, based on the celebration of great events in the area such as LIV Golf at Real Club Valderrama, it is helping to open up a larger window and showcase towards very important economic markets, such as the North Americans with profiles of visitors and potential investors in the United States and Canada. Also, conflicts in Eastern Europe and the Middle East, are also opening up markets to clients looking for high-end properties in a space with guarantees, safety and peacefulness. They are clients with high purchase power but also a very high level of demand. In this regard, from the most legal profiles in the room, there was analysis of the need to have a legal and legislative framework that helps to convey this image of a destination committed to investment and economic development which the current political framework, with the instability it generates, does not always help to strengthen these opportunities. Legal security, estate taxes and the situation with non-residents, are concepts to have with a very high level of guarantees in order to not stop the development of very important destinations with so much power to attract capital like Sotogrande. New property developments and the development of first-rate private entities (including those from the sports sector, through major international scale events) manage to consolidate and position a brand, which should perhaps be more unified, but which has significant specific influence in the luxury and high-end sector. Indeed, it is the parent company, Sotogrande S.A., one of the great backers in a very important year like its 60’s anniversary, and in which it delive-

red the first phase of Village Verde, one of the most attractive developments of recent years in the resort. Positioning the destination, the brand image and raising the level and quality of services remains one of the principles in the commitment of all the active entities. All of these new projects are consolidated with the increase in the stable population during the entire year which also results in enrolments in schools and other adjoining services. Always, with aspects to improve in terms of assistance, services, and options for residents and visitors of the resort; but which also goes along with the need to preserve a select and low density destination; aspects that make Sotogrande unrivalled and different to other destinations. Looking after aspects such as the image and maintenance, growing in sectors such as gastronomy, cyclical problems linked to the environment such as the mouth of the Guadiaro River,

the threat of tourist apartments, and the loss of low density; and the problem of sustainable and sustained growth in residential tourism, they are aspects to look after and bear in mind in the short and medium-term in the resort. As an active party, the banking institution present (Caixabank) encouraged the investment and launch of projects in the area; with the support of one of the entities with the greatest guarantees and liquidity when it comes to supporting interesting business proposals in the area, which are many and to collaborate with all these new entrepreneurial ideas that pursue the economic and social development of the area. Sotogrande is heading towards a future of excellence and quality, but it must always do so in a framework of commitment to quality; one of the principles since its beginnings and it has a strong business community to achieve it.

Interanualmente, se produjo una subida del 9,92%. Andalucía se situó a la misma distancia de la autonomía más cara, Baleares. En cuanto a la

vivienda de segunda mano en España, en octubre de 2023 registró un precio medio en ascenso mensual del 1,49%. De un año a otro, la cifra registrada marcó una subida del 8,31%. Aunque la explosión vivida por las compraventas haya tocado a su fin, comprar hoy un

piso en España cuesta más que hace un año en todas las autonomías, sin excepción, según defiende este informe del porta especializado Pisos. com. De un mes a otro, la provincia de Málaga (1,94%) fue la séptima que más subió de España, mientras que Jaén

A success story with mentoring to manage adjustments to working hours Some employers are already trying out reductions in working hours and restructuring of tasks within their organisations. Using mentoring in mediating leadership to do this efficiently guarantees results, as any mediation process is, in itself, a process of learning and transformation in situ. Moreover, these mentoring and training courses are eligible for FUNDAE subsidies and, in most cases, free of charge for the entrepreneur. This was the case for Tomás, owner of a printing company with a graphic design studio. He had 8 employees and, after discussing the issue with them, he decided to try to reduce the working week from 40 to 37 hours without reducing wages. He was willing to try it for several months. His only condition: the change had to bring the company the same benefits as the employees would get from working less time, i.e. the same or better results had to be achieved. The company had to reorganise. Tomás was clear about what he wanted to achieve, but he did not know the best strategy for doing so. Moreover, some of his workers were not happy about it, claiming that they were simply going to take their work home with them without much improvement. Anticipating the conflict, Tomás, excited about the challenge and the possibility of renewing and making procedures more profitable, turned to my mentoring services. Thus, I worked with him remotely, and he later worked directly with his employees during working hours. The results are, he tells me, “excellent”. When I asked him a few days ago about his satisfaction with the experience in order to write this article, he replied that without the mentoring he would not have been able to guide the negotiation between his team members with impartiality, neutrality and efficiency, that he would not have been able to create, so quickly, that space for a counteractive dialogue in trust. The point is that, in a few weeks, Tomás got his employees to communicate naturally, frankly and transparently on controversial issues. With some he trusted, but not with others, and yet he needed to know everyone’s views equally and to manage the transformation comprehensively and first-hand. The principles of neutrality, voluntariness, respect for differences of opinion, creativity and confidentiality, which are characteristic of mediating leadership processes, helped him to achieve this. Tomás was, step by step, leading a transformation within his organisation, identifying core competencies in key tasks, detecting blind spots, restructuring according to criteria of sustainability, health and cognitive immunity and reviewing the potential of Artificial Intelligence at home. I also assisted him in the application of Motivational Attractors to help his employees to express improvements and proposals. He also received assistance in time management to maximise the efficiency of the whole process, to close agreements, to draft new protocols and to establish a follow-up calendar. In several mentoring sessions, Tomás managed to transcend the initial resistance of his employees to change and generate new procedures controlling medium and long term implications, a success story in terms of procedural efficiency and profitability.

Mediación Un caso de éxito con mentoring para gestionar ajustes en el horario laboral Algunos empresarios ya están ensayando reducciones en los horarios laborales y reestructuración de tareas dentro de sus organizaciones. Recurrir a las mentorías en liderazgo mediador para hacerlo con eficiencia, garantiza resultados pues todo proceso de mediación es, en sí mismo, un proceso de aprendizaje y transformación in situ. Además, estas mentorías y formaciones son bonificables por FUNDAE y, en la mayoría de las ocasiones, gratuitas para el empresario. Así fue el caso de Tomás, propietario de una imprenta con estudio de diseño gráfico. Tenía 8 empleados y, tras debatir el tema con ellos, decidió hacer la prueba de reducir la jornada laboral de 40 a 37 horas semanales sin bajar sueldos. Estaba dispuesto a intentarlo durante varios meses. Su única condición: que el cambio procurase a la empresa el mismo bienestar que obtendrían los empleados por trabajar menos tiempo, es decir, se debían lograr los mismos o mejores resultados. Había que reorganizarse. Tomás tenía claro lo que quería conseguir, pero no sabía cuál era la mejor estrategia para hacerlo. Además, algunos de sus trabajadores no las tenían todas consigo alegando que, simplemente, les iba a tocar llevarse trabajo a casa sin mayor mejora. Previniendo el conflicto, Tomás, ilusionado con el reto y con la posibilidad de renovar y rentabilizar procedimientos, recurrió a mis servicios de mentoría. Así, yo trabajaba con él en remoto, y él, después, directamente con sus trabajadores dentro del horario laboral. Los resultados están siendo, según me dice, “excelentes”. Cuando le pregunté hace días sobre su satisfacción con la experiencia para escribir este artículo, respondió que sin las mentorías no hubiera logrado guiar la negociación entre los miembros de su equipo con imparcialidad, neutralidad y eficiencia, que no habría logrado crear, tan rápido, ese espacio de dialoga contractivo en confianza. Convocado el XXX Concurso Nacional de Cuentos “José Manuel Álvarez Gil” Un año más, el Colegio San José convoca el Concurso Nacional de Cuentos “José Manuel Álvarez Gil”, con el objeto de honrar la memoria del fundador del colegio y de fomentar la creatividad literaria entre los jóvenes. El Concurso, del que este año se celebra su XXX edición, goza de gran acogida a nivel nacional y se dirige a escolares que pueden participar en tres categorías: Educación Primaria, Educación Secundaria y Enseñanzas Medias (Bachillerato y Formación Profesional). En palabras de su coordinador, el profesor D. Juan José Bazán, “el concurso pretende fomentar el ejercicio de la escritura, la redacción y la comprensión textual. Dejando a un lado la pretensión de buscar especiales cualidades literarias, cuando un alumno hace un trabajo para nuestro concurso está invirtiendo, casi sin saberlo, en su propia formación verbal”. Los objetivos que el Colegio San José se plantea con este concurso se cumplen de lleno en cada edición, como demuestran las obras ganadoras. “El hecho de configurar una historia, buscar el lenguaje adecuado y someterlo a una disciplina orto-

gráfica y de redacción es ya un objetivo educativo de primer orden para un colegio cuyo principal propósito es la formación integral de la persona. En segundo lugar, el concurso también fomenta el ejercicio de la creatividad. Los alumnos que tienen un marcado talento literario encuentran en nuestro concurso el espacio ideal para

Adrian Meronk conquista el EDAM 2023 en el Real Club de Golf Sotogrande

La primera edición del Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucía Masters con el Real Club de Golf Sotogrande como sede, se definió con acento polaco. Adrian Meronk impuso un gran ritmo en los últimos hoyos decisivos de la jornada para hacerse con el triunfo y conseguir darle la vuelta a la clasificación cuando el alemán Matti Schmid ya sentía que acariciada el torneo.

Con una tarjeta final de 272 golpes (16 impactos por debajo del par), Meronk firmó una espectacular cuarta ronda de -6, siendo el rival más duro y competitivo en el tramo final del torneo. Destacar la puja hasta el último hoyo tanto de Schmidm, que se quedó a un solo golpe de Meronk como de Richard Mansell (-14). Finalmente, no pudo reeditar

triunfo Adrián Otaegui pese a que comenzó la cuarta ronda como uno de los favoritos al triunfo, se fue descolgando a medida que avanzaba (otro complicado día de lluvia y viento en Sotogrande), para finalizar en novena posición a seis golpes de la cabeza y ser el primer español en la tabla. Adrian Meronk wins the EDAM 2023 at Real Club de Golf Sotogrande

First edition of the Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucía Masters held at Real Club de Golf Sotogrande finished with a Polish accent. Adrian Meronk imposed a great pace on the final decisive holes of the day to take victory and manage to turn around the scoreboard when the German Matti Schmid felt he could almost touch victory in the tournament. With a final card of 272 shots (16 shots under par), Meronk had a spectacular fourth round of -6, as the toughest and most competitive opponent in the final stretch of the tournament. It is worth highlighting the fight until the final hole of both Schmid, who finished just one shot off Meronk and of Richard Mansell (-14). In the end, Adrián Otaegui was unable to repeat his vic-

tory despite the fact he started the fourth round as one of the favourites for victory, he gradually dropped as he progressed (another difficult day of rain and wind in Sotogrande) to finish in ninth place, six shots off the leader and the top Spaniard in the ranking. Adri Arnaus and Jorge Campillo made it into the top 20, while Cabrera Bello finished in 34th place. A difficult 2023 edition of the EDAM, almost a different tournament each day: sun, wind, rain, etc. This made it a real challenge (overcome with honours by all the competition staff and especially Real Club de Golf Sotogrande) and it marks the laying of the first stone in a beautiful new journey of the DP World Tour in Sotogrande.

El campeón defensor del torneo, La Natividad, se tomó revancha de la semifinal de Hurlingham disputada en Palermo hace unas semanas, y venció a La Hache La Roca por 15 a 10 y de esta manera se consagró en Tortugas por segundo año consecutivo, en el que fue el 83° Abierto del Tortugas Country. Un partido muy disputado aunque siempre contó con el liderazgo de La Natividad con un Camilo Castagnola -goleador de la final (9), del torneo (28) y hasta ahora de la Triple Corona 2023 (56)- imparable ante los mimbres rivales, pero cometiendo muchas faltas en defensa, por lo cual La Hache siempre estuvo cerca en el tablero. Valderrama coloca un cierre para el recuerdo al X Circuito de Golf Sotogrande •

Los finalistas viven una inolvidable jornada de golf por todo lo alto en uno de los templos del golf y disfrutan de una experiencia única llena de sorpresas, obsequios y un espectacular ‘Welcome Pack’.

El golf toma sentido, como en pocos lugares en el mundo, en Real Club Valderrama. La décima edición del Circuito de Golf Sotogrande no pudo contar con un broche de oro y un cierre de mayor nivel que celebrar su Gran Final en el mítico y emblemático Real Club Valderrama, uno de los grandes templos del golf internacional. Los clasificados (además de invitados de las marcas colaboradoras); disfrutaron de un verdadero regalo con un primaveral día en pleno noviembre y un campo perfecto, como siempre, para albergar en cualquier momento y día una Ryder Cup, por su nivel de atención y mantenimiento. The event, played on the majestic La Cañada municipal course, was a resounding success with 25 teams and 100 players

who enjoyed an unbeatable Saturday day, somewhat complicated in terms of weather due to the wind but with a great condition of the course. All the participating players received at least one prize and were able to enjoy, after the end of the game, a meal at the Mulligan restaurant, after which the formal prize-giving ceremony took place,

led by the president of the La Cañada entity Ana Vega, the delegate of Infrastructures and Works of the San Roque Town Hall, Belén Jiménez, and the councillor of the Guadiaro Valley, Eva Gil. The winning teams, pairs and players of the event were: Winning team: the team Siempre Aquí, formed by Consuelo Aliende, Paqui Morales, Pepa Mo-

Benito Cortés gana la VI edición de la Copa Presidenta de Golf en La Cañada Benito Cortés se proclamó ganador de la VI edición de la Copa Presidenta de Golf, prueba puntuable para el ranking absoluto del Club de Golf La Cañada. El jugador firmó una tarjeta de 74 golpes brutos, con lo que se impuso a los más de sesenta participantes que se dieron cita en el recorrido sanroqueño. La prueba, disputada en 18 hoyos bajo la modalidad Medal Play Individual Modificado (máximo de golpes por hoyo = par del hoyo + 5), destacó por un amplísima participación. Los jugadores pudieron disfrutar de una inmejorable jornada de golf, con buen clima, gran estado del campo y una espectacu-

lar comida en el Restaurante Mulligan al finalizar la ronda. La teniente de alcalde de Deportes, Mónica Córdoba, junto a la edil Belén Jiménez,
