Estamos acostumbrados a vivir y escuchar constantemente en los diferentes medios de comunicación, especialmente de escala nacional o de sector político, la expresión de “sociedad polarizada”, o entornos polarizados o mil preámbulos más continuados del concepto “polarizado” para casi cualquier tema. En este caso, como en muchos otros, sería más fácil ir a la raíz, al génesis o incluso a la escuela y la infancia para acordarnos de esa divina expresión del “yo no he sido”; para culpar a cualquier otro de una dejadez, fallo, error o falta de actuación.
Hace sólo unos días, este medio también [sino el único], participó en la concentración en Torreguadiaro junto al nuevo edifico multiusos (que tras 3 años de construcción sigue sin uso); para reclamar y protestar por la falta de atención de Endesa en el suministro eléctrico, que a todos luces, es el último obstáculo para poder abrir este espacio. Un nuevo edificio que albergará el centro de salud, oficinas municipales, talleres y actividades comunitarios y hasta un puesto de restauración con una ubicación y vistas privilegiadas.
En definitiva, sea fallo de Endesa, del Ayuntamiento, de la Junta de Andalucía o de quién sea, hasta de quién limpia enrosca las bombillas; entre unos y otros la casa sin barrer, en este caso, sin luz y sin inaugurar. Todos bajo el paraguas del “yo no he sido”, la culpa es del siguiente en la lista.
Esto también ocurre, con reparto de responsabilidades, no es cuestión de blandir o señalar a un espacio concreto u organismo determinado, la realidad es que son muchas las cosas que siguen en el tintero.

El paso peatonal desde San Enrique hasta la zona de Montilla, el paseo marítimo en su segunda fase en Torreguadiaro, el paso elevado sobre el río Guadiaro, la entrada y desvío de la A-7 hacia el propio puerto deportivo y Torreguadiaro; y así una larga lista de asuntos sin resolver. No se trata de ajustar cuentas, se trata de no perder nada en la trastienda y reclamar lo acordado, lo pactado y lo electoralmente comprometido. Por todas las partes.
We are used to experiencing and constantly hearing in different media outlets, especially on a national scale or in the political sector, the expression “polarised society” or polarised environments or a thousand other preambles continuing the “polarised” concept for almost any topic. In this case, as in many others, it would be easier to get to the root, the genesis or even school and childhood to remember that divine expression “it wasn’t me”; in order to place the blame on anyone else for an act of sloppiness, mistake, error or lack of action.
Just a few days ago, this media outlet also (if not the only one), took part in the rally in Torreguadiaro next to the new multi-purpose building (which after 3 years of construction remains unused); in order to call for and protest at the lack of attention paid by Endesa to the electrical power supply, which is clearly the last obstacle to being able to open this space. A new building that will house the health centre, municipal offices, workshops and community activities and even a catering area with a prime location and views.
Ultimately, whether it is an error by Endesa, the Council, the Regional Government of Andalucía or whoever, or even whoever cleans and screws in the light bulbs; between them the house is not swept, and in this case lacking electricity and not opened. All under the umbrella of “it wasn’t me”, the blame is for the next person on the list.
This also happens, with shared responsibilities, it isn’t a matter of branding or pointing the finger at a specific space or body, the reality is that there are many things that have been forgotten about.

Es casi de obligado cumplimiento ponerse un pelín pedagógico y políticamente académico cada inicio de curso, algo que propiamente me podría acercar peligrosamente hacia esa cursilería de la que huyo o aún peor, soltar una de esas clásicas frases de: “un niño, un lápiz y un maestro son capaces de cambiar el mundo”. En este caso, sin caer en el topiquismo conceptual o en la retórica simplista, algo farisea e hipócrita; no me da miedo afirmar que sí existe una estrecha relación newtoniana en Sotogrande.
No tanto como para afirmar que existe una cuarta ley o principio inspirado en este singular rincón del planeta, pero sí, completamente convencido y contrastado, que precisamente la educación y su valor diferencial han elevado e impulsado, cual premisa de Isaac, el cambio y variación del estado natural de Sotogrande en la ruta de un nuevo proyecto y camino hacia la excelencia y la consolidación al más alto nivel.
En esta edición que sostiene en sus manos, como es habitual en septiembre y con nuestro especial de educación, puede comprobar el meteórico incremento del volumen y masa escolar en Sotogrande y el Valle del Guadiaro; en otras palabras, un importante crecimiento de la población residencial en todo el entorno. Además, con una particularidad muy especial, que por encima del 60% de ese quorum, se establece en la enseñanza privada y de alto poder adquisitivo. A todas luces, el posicionamiento de Sotogrande y su área de influencia, como uno de los destinos educativos más importantes de España, albergando en su entorno más inmediato varios de los centros privados más reconocidos, laureados y prestigiosos del país lo convierten en toda una referencia. Y sin duda, en un reclamo para nuevas familias a la hora de instalarse o decidirse por invertir o residir en Sotogrande.

Not enough to state that there is a fourth law or principle inspired by this unique part of the world, but year, completely convinced and proven, that it is indeed education and its differential value that have elevated and driven, like Isaac’s premise, the change and variation in the natural state of Sotogrande on the route of a new project and road towards excellence and the consolidation of the highest level.
Ahí lo tienen, la primera ley de Newton habla de ese proceso (en reposo o en movimiento) que permanece a nos ser que otra fuerza lo obligue a cambiar su estado. Justo, algo que coincide con el segundo y tercer principio del bueno de Sir Isaac, ambos nos valen. Tanto aquello de que “cuando una fuerza actúa sobre un objeto se pone en movimiento, lo contrario o varía”, como el principio de “acción y reacción”.
El importante rendimiento del destino como valor educacional con primerísimos centros privados, así como el auge poblacional que motivó la pandemia, han convertido a Sotogrande, con el beneplácito de las tres leyes de Newton en un destino educativo inigualable (por todo lo que lo rodea); en el sur de Europa. Una vez más, aprovechemos esta increíble oportunidad que nos brinda el buen trabajo del tejido público y privado, especialmente, en educación; para crecer y desarrollar todo lo que colinda. There you have it, Newton’s first law states that a body remains at rest, or in motion at a constant speed in a straight line, except insofar as it is acted upon by a force. Indeed, this is something that coincides with the second and third principle of Sir Isaac, both apply to us. Both the one that “when a force acts on an object it moves, the opposite or varies” as well as the “action and reaction” principle.
The important yield of the destination as an educational value with first-rate private schools, as well as the population rise caused by the pandemic, has made Sotogrande, with the approval of Newton’s three laws into an unrivalled educational destination (thanks to everything around it); in southern Europe.

Sotogrande y su área de influencia, como uno de los destinos de golf más ‘premium’ del mundo, vuelven a contar con un papel protagonista en el escenario internacional, con un importante número de nominaciones a los prestigiosos premios World Golf Awards 2024; uno de los galardones más reconocidos en el sector. Por supuesto, destacan varios aspirantes de primer nivel del entorno en la categoría de Mejor Campo de Golf de España en 2024. Lógicamente, Real Club Valderrama es uno de los nombres designados en la nominación, aunque tam-

Nuevo curso político
Se inicia en España un nuevo curso político cargado de incertidumbres. Casi podríamos decir que hay solo una cosa de la que podemos estar seguros: Pedro Sánchez no va a convocar elecciones generales anticipadas.

Naturalmente, no quiere convocarlas, porque las perdería, acaso por una diferencia del PP sobre el PSOE más abultada que la registrada en el año 2023. Esa certidumbre, como digo, es la única frente a muchas incógnitas. En la política, las cesiones al inde-
A new political year is getting underway in Spain full of uncertainties. We could almost say that there is only one thing we can be certain of: Pedro Sánchez is not going to call an early general election.
Naturally, he doesn’t want to call them, because he would lose, perhaps by a larger margin of the PP over the PSOE than the one recorded in 2023. As I say, that certainty is the only one compared to many unknowns. In politics, concessions to independentism, symbolised in the so-called “Catalan quota” which we have dealt with in this newspaper, have caused a stir in socialism, particularly in the few regional governments where PSOE is still in power. The idea of a left that rewards the richest
autonomous communities at the expense of the poorest is indeed hard to digest for the progressive political forces, especially the socialists. The atmosphere among the allies of Sánchez is also quite tumultuous, and the Government has started to lose some of the support that enabled it to win the investiture, both in terms of the nationalists and the extreme left. It is true that this doesn’t mean that the allies will let the executive government collapse, precisely because they also know that new elections could result in Alberto Núñez Feijóo in La Moncloa, a scenario that is likely to worry them more than the current one. On an economic level, within a situation in Spain that is more or less going well, compared to the
pendentismo, simbolizadas en el llamado “cupo catalán”, del que ya nos hemos ocupado en este periódico, han agitado las aguas del socialismo, particularmente en los pocos gobiernos autonómicos donde todavía manda el PSOE. La idea de una izquierda que premia a las autonomías más ricas a expensas de las más pobres es, efectivamente, difícil de digerir para las fuerzas progresistas, especialmente las socialistas. El ambiente entre los aliados de Sánchez está también bastante revuelto, y el Gobierno ha empezado a perder parte de los apoyos que le permitieron ganar la investidura, tanto en el ámbito de los nacionalistas como en el de la extrema izquierda. Cierto es que eso no significa que los aliados vayan a dejar caer al Ejecutivo, precisamente porque ellos también saben que unas nuevas elecciones podrían desembocar con Alberto Núñez Feijóo en la Moncloa, un escenario que es probable que les inquiete más que el actual.
En el campo económico, dentro de una situación de España que va más o menos bien, en comparación con las alicaídas grandes naciones de Europa, hay señales de debilitamiento, a las que hay que sumar la posible falta de apoyos del Gobierno para aprobar los Presupuestos Generales del Estado para el año 2025.
Cabría argumentar que los Presupuestos siempre se pueden prorrogar, pero, aparte de que la obligación del Ejecutivo es presentarlos para su aprobación, su prórroga infunde una sensación de precariedad del Gobierno.
En resumen, puede que las circunstancias políticas y económicas, que ya son delicadas, empeoren. Pero el nuevo curso político nos sugiere que Sánchez permanecerá al mando porque ese empeoramiento, como decía el desafinado bardo de los cómics de Astérix, no sucederá mañana.

El Centro de Salud de Torreguadiaro,
a falta de suministro eléctrico
• El Gobierno Municipal señala a Endesa como la culpable de la demora en la apertura del nuevo Edificio Multiusos por una serie de peticiones en infraestructuras e inversión que no se responsabiliza y atribuye a las competencias del Ayuntamiento.
• Responsables municipales y vecinos de la barriada protestan en una concentración a las puertas del nuevo espacio.
Todo a falta de luz. Buena parte del Gobierno municipal, con Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix en primer término, se concentró junto a un grupo de vecinos de la barriada en la explanada del nuevo Edificio Multiusos de Torreguadiaro para protestar y reclamar a Endesa, entidad encargada de suministrar electricidad al nuevo espacio; precisamente la falta de ésta para poder dar luz verde y su apertura. El edificio acogerá el Centro de Salud de Torreguadiaro, dependencias municipales para autoridades y Universidad Popular, así como una cafetería y más de 50 plazas de estacionamiento de vehículos.
Desde Alcaldía se detalló que el edifico está completamente finalizado en construcción, a falta de detalles previos a su apertura, y que se encuentra recepcionado desde primeros de año. El único obstáculo que quedaría pendiente de salvar antes de su inauguración sería contar con el suministro. En palabras del primer edil,
Endesa exige la construcción de un centro de transformación y varias conexiones, con cargo a las arcas municipales, en lugar de correr por cuenta de la empresa eléctrica o bien acondicionar el suministro natural que realiza en la barriada.
Ruiz Boix explicó que el caso se ha llevado a la Junta de Andalucía y el propio ente autonómico respaldó la posición municipal; en estos momentos
está a la espera de que se resuelva el recurso en protesta que elevó la empresa eléctrica.
La realidad es que por una cuestión u otra, de ejecución o administrativa, se cumplen más de tres años desde que se adjudicaran los permisos para realizar las obras del Edificio Multiusos Torreguadiaro con una durabilidad máxima de ejecución de 12 meses y del que todavía no sé prevé cuando va a ser su
inauguración. El 8 de febrero de 2021 se adjudico a una empresa la concesión para realizar la obra del Edificio Multiusos de Torreguadiaro que incluía aparcamientos y una urbanización exterior.
El coste ascendía a más de un millón de euros y el plazo de ejecución de un año. En octubre de este mismo año comenzaron la construcción del edificio, ocho meses en comenzar la edificación debido a que
hubo un cambio de empresa constructora.
Durante 2022 la obra todavía estaba en marcha, aunque se preveía un buen ritmo de trabajo, tanto que el primer edil adelanto su inauguración podría llegar a ser en febrero del 2023. Un completo edificio que cuenta con aparcamientos públicos, oficina de alcaldía, talleres para la UP, Centro de Salud, local para un bar-restaurante y una plaza pública.
Torreguadiaro Health Centre, lacking electrical power
Everything lacking electricity. A large part of the municipal Government, led by Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, gathered alongside a group of residents from the neighbourhood on the esplanade of the new Multi-Purpose Building in Torreguadiaro to protest and complain against Endesa, the entity responsible for providing electricity to the new space; specifically, the lack of it in order to give the green light and open it. The building will house the Torreguadiaro Health Centre, municipal facilities for authorities and the Open University, as
well as a café and over 50 spaces for car parking.
The Mayoral Office outlined that construction of the building has been completely finished, with a lack of opening before opening, and that is was delivered at the start of the year. The only obstacle that still needs to be overcome before its opening would be to have the electricity supply. According to the mayor, Endesa demands the construction of a processing plant and several connections, charged to the municipal coffers, instead of being provided by the electricity company or adapting the natural supply that it provides in the neighbourhood.
Ruiz Boix explained that the case has been brought before the Regional Government of Andalusia, and the regional body itself supported the municipal position; at the moment we are waiting for the outcome of an appeal that the electricity company lodged.
The reality is that for one reason or another, implementation or administrative, it has been more than three years since permits were granted to carry out work for the Multi-purpose Building in Torreguadiaro with
a maximum period of work of 12 months and it still isn’t clear when it is going to open. On 8 February 2021, a company was awarded the tender to carry out work for the Multi-purpose Building in Torreguadiaro which included parking and an outdoor resort. The cost rose to over one million Euros and the building period was one year. Construction of the building began in October that same year, it took eight mon-
ths to begin building due to the fact that there was a change of construction company.

Este verano, aprovechemos para hacer una limpieza no solo de nuestros armarios, sino también de nuestras mentes y corazones. Deshacernos de lo superfluo puede ser el primer paso hacia una vida más simple, feliz y en paz. Como los estoicos nos enseñan, la verdadera riqueza no reside en lo que poseemos, sino en nuestra capacidad para vivir con lo que realmente necesitamos.
Un ejercicio práctico que propongo es revisar nuestras pertenencias. Preguntémonos: ¿Realmente uso esto? ¿Aporta valor a mi vida? Si la respuesta es no, quizás es hora de dejarlo ir. Al deshacernos de lo que no usamos, también hacemos espacio para lo que sí tiene valor, no solo en términos materiales, sino también en lo emocional y mental.

Simplifying Life: Source of Happiness and Inner
We live in a society where accumulation seems to be the norm. More possessions, more commitments, more distractions. Yet the more we accumulate, the further we move away from the peace and happiness we crave. In reality, simplifying life can be the key to finding that inner peace that the hustle and bustle of everyday life robs us of.
Minimalism is not just a trend or a fad; it is a lifestyle that invites us to get rid of the unnecessary to make room for the essential. It is about valuing what really matters and freeing ourselves from the burdens that bind us. In this sense, minimalism is deeply connected to Stoic philosophy, which advocates a life centred on virtue and simplicity.
Less is more. This principle applies not only to our possessions, but also to our activities and commitments. Often, we fill our schedules with events, meetings and obligations that only create more stress. Simplification involves saying ‘no’ to what is not essential, allowing us to focus on what truly nourishes us.
The Stoics, such as Seneca and Marcus Aurelius, spoke of the importance of moderation and how the desire for material things can keep us from true happiness. Marcus Aurelius wrote: ‘The happiness of your life depends on the quality of your thoughts’. If we free ourselves from material excess, we also free our minds, allowing us to think

more clearly and live more serenely. A practical exercise I propose is to go through our belongings. Let us ask ourselves: Do I really use this, and does it add value to my life? If the answer is no, perhaps it is time to let it go. By getting rid of what we don’t use, we also make space for what does have value, not only in material terms, but also emotionally and mentally. This summer, let’s take the opportunity to clean out not only our wardrobes, but also our hearts and minds. Getting rid of the superfluous can be the first step towards a simpler, happier and more peaceful life. As the Stoics teach us, true wealth lies not in what we possess, but in our ability to live with what we really need.
La gran aventura de ir a pie entre San Enrique y Torreguadiaro
• El Periódico de Sotogrande lleva meses denunciando la peligrosidad del tramo que une la barriada con la zona de Montilla y la demora en más de dos años de la ejecución del acerado. Desde el Consistorio se señala a la Junta de Andalucía como la responsable en el retraso al no conceder los permisos necesarios.
Por una cuestión o la siguiente, ya se acumulan más de 24 meses en el retraso para el adecentamiento y mejora del acerado que conecta peatonalmente las barriadas de San Enrique de Guadiaro y Torreguadiaro, concretamente en el margen de la carretera A-2102. Se

Junta de Andalucía como responsable de la demora. Desde Alcaldía, tanto a inicios de este mes de julio como ya avanzado el verano, se repetía en la argumentación de que todos los trabajos se encontraban parados a expensas de la concesión de unos permisos por parte de la administración andaluza. En palabras del propio regidor sanroqueño, el Ayuntamiento no trataba de solicitar tan siquiera el apoyo económico para soportar la inversión, sólo contar con la luz verde a su puesta en marcha. Algo que por una cosa u otra, como también ocurre en otros proyectos paralizados del Valle del Guadiaro, acaba en perjuicio para el ciudadano.
La realidad es que ya pasado el ejercicio 2022, 2023 y prácticamente todo el año en curso, sigue siendo altamente peligroso conectar peatonalmente dos núcleos urbanos tan próximos y de gran simbiosis laboral y de
ocio. La falta de adecentamiento, acerado, metros con seguridad sobre la calzada o un pasaje seguro, son mínimos exigibles y que pese a las numerosas reclamaciones y demandas, con este periódico a la cabeza, continúa entre trámites la casa sin barrer. Siendo más necesaria que nunca la actuación y li-
derazgo desde el gobierno municipal. Recordar que ese mismo tramo contó hasta con el apoyo de una plataforma vecinal para velar por su limpieza, hace algunos años, tras el abandono y acumulación de basura y residuos. La realidad es que continúa sin resolver.
The great adventure of walking between San Enrique and Torreguadiaro

is still not swept clean. The action and leadership of the municipal government is more necessary than ever.
It should be remembered that this same stretch even had the support of a neighbourhood platform to ensure its cleanliness, some years ago, after the abandonment and accumulation of rubbish and waste. The reality is that it remains unresolved.

La nueva mujer de Yves Saint Laurent
En 1961, con veinticinco años, Saint Laurent creó su casa de alta costura. Alcanzó la fama muy joven, al igual que los otros dos protagonistas de mi ensayo El juego de la moda (Ediciones Carena, Barcelona, 2024). A pesar de que su obra en general es más intuitiva que intelectual, tiene rasgos distintivos con respecto a otros diseñadores de su generación, destacando la intencionalidad. Más allá de esa nostalgia de aristocracia solapada, que se respira en todo creador de moda francés, él supo reconducir ese sentimiento obsoleto metamorfoseándolo en una modernidad escenográfica. Su creación más memorable es el traje de chaqueta femenino. La versión original de este primer masculino-femenino se remonta a mediados de los setenta. Esta indumentaria concebida por el francés fue acompañada de una actitud: mano en el bolsillo, seriedad, altivez, espalda muy recta y caminar decidido. Al recrearlo, uno podría pensar más en los actores del cine clásico que en las ac-
trices, siendo ésta la importancia real de la idea. El feminismo estaba aquellos años en un momento apoteósico, se estaba creando un mundo centrado en la mujer, de la conciencia a la acción política. Se reforzaban las ideas de fortaleza y confianza en ellas mismas, con el control de sus cuerpos, de su sexualidad.
En este contexto, el clásico y neutro traje masculino, símbolo del profesional de éxito, del empresario adinerado, del seductor peligroso del cine negro se despojaba de su género y ascendía a símbolo. La nueva mujer elegante y atrevida podía vestirse con el uniforme del poder cosmopolita. Si, además, se atrevía a cortarse el pelo y a tomar la actitud adecuada -fundamental era la mano en el bolsillo-, si fumaba y mostraba desenfado y despreocupación, pasaba a convertirse en la imagen de la modernidad más absoluta.
Digamos que aquella mujer que inventó Saint Laurent fue la Marianne de los setenta europeos. No
necesitaba llevar el pecho al descubierto, ni tener fisonomía belicosa, nada de agresividades, ni desencantos. Era aquella una forma elegante y rotunda de utilizar el vestido como protesta. Saint Laurent ideó la conducta y el traje de corte impecable, riguroso, limpio. Una mujer esbelta, de sexualidad ambigua, de fascinante seducción. Los mejores fotógrafos retrataban estas creaciones de los modistas más importantes. Y así se va escribiendo solita la historia del arte.

The new woman of Yves Saint Laurent
In 1961, aged twenty-five, Saint Laurent created his haute couture brand. He achieved fame at a very young age, just like the other two stars of my essay El juego de la moda (The Fashion Game, published by Ediciones Carena, Barcelona, 2024). Despite the fact that his work is generally more intuitive than intellectual, it has distinctive traits in relation to other designers of his generation, and the intent stands out. In addition to the concealed nostalgia of aristocracy, which can be felt in any French fashion creator, he was able to channel that obsolete feeling and transform it into stage modernity.
Laurent was the Marianne of the European seventies. She did not need to bare her chest, nor have a warlike appearance, no aggression or disenchantment. That was an elegant and resounding way to use fashion as a protest. Saint Laurent devised the conduct and the suit with an impeccable, rigorous, clean look. A slim woman, with ambiguous sexuality, and a fascinating seductive appeal. The best photographers captured these creations by the most important fashion designers. And thus, the history of art writes itself over time.
His most memorable creation is the women’s suit jacket. The original version of this masculine-feminine garment dates back to the mid-sixties. This piece designed by the Frenchman was accompanied by an attitude: hand in his pocked, seriousness, haughtiness, back very straight and purposeful walk. By recreating it, one might think more of the classic film actors than of actresses, and this is the real importance of the idea. During those years, feminism was at a climactic moment, a world focused on women was being created, moving from awareness to political action. The ideas of strength and self-belief were being strengthened, with control over their bodies and sexuality.
Within this context, the classic and neutral men’s suit, a symbol of a successful professional, of wealthy business people, of the danger seductor of film noir, rid itself of its gender and was elevated to the status of symbol. The new elegant and bold woman could wear the uniform of cosmopolitan power. If she also dared to cut her hair and to adopt the right attitude -the hand in the pocket was essential-, if she smoked and showed nonchalance and insouciance, she would become the image of the most complete modernity. Interanualmente, se produjo una subida del 15,41%, la quinta más intensa de España. Andalucía fue la octava autonomía más cara del país, por detrás de Baleares, entre otras. En cuanto a la vivienda de segunda mano en España, en agosto de 2024 registró un precio medio en ascenso mensual del 1,68%. De un año a otro, la cifra registrada marcó una subida del 14,42%.

The average price of second-hand housing in Andalusia in August 2024 was 1.82% higher than in July. Year-onyear, there was a rise of 15.41%, the fifth highest in Spain. Andalusia was the eighth most expensive autonomous region in the country, behind the Balearic Islands, among others.

Tráfico final para la temporada de verano en Sotogrande. En la madrugada del sábado al domingo, 1 de septiembre, alrededor de las 7 de la mañana, aparecía sin vida el cuerpo de un joven de 32 años de edad en las instalaciones de Trocadero Sotogrande, tras la jornada de cierre y broche a la temporada.
Según todos datos que ha podido recabar este medio de comunicación y fuentes consultadas; el joven se trataba un empleado de otro de los clubes que mantiene abiertos este reconocido grupo de restauración, concretamente del establecimiento de Tarifa. Se encontraba celebrando el final de la temporada junto con el resto de compañeros, en una de las noches más esperadas como colofón a un verano de intensa actividad en los restaurantes y clubes de los que dispone Trocadero en toda la costa.
A cierta hora de la madrugada, los compañeros advirtieron que no veían al joven por ningún sitio, hasta que se se dieron cuenta y localizaron que su cuerpo permanecía inerte en el fondo de una de las piscinas de Trocadero Sotogrande, una de las más reconocibles y de gran profundidad. Lugar al que llegó tras una desafortunado accidente del propio fallecido.
Rápidamente, saltaron a socorrerle y con un enorme trabajo y esfuerzo lograron sacar el cuerpo, ya sin vida, de la piscina. Por más que trataron de estimularlo realizando los ejercicios de reanimación (RCP), fue desafortunadamente imposible lograr un resultado favorable. Hasta el lugar de los hechos se personaron diferentes efectivos de emergencias, además de agentes de la Guardia Civil y diferentes organismos.
Final traffic for the summer season in Sotogrande. In the early hours of Saturday morning to Sunday, September 1, around 7 am, appeared lifeless body of a young man of 32 years of age in the facilities of Trocadero Sotogrande, after the closing day and brooch to the season.
According to all information that has been able to gather this media and sources consulted, the young man was an employee of another of the clubs that keeps open this renowned group of restoration, specifically the establishment of Tarifa. He was celebrating the end of the season along with the rest of his colleagues, on one of the most eagerly awaited nights to round off a summer of intense activity in Trocadero’s restaurants and clubs along the coast.
At a certain time in the early hours of the morning, the companions noticed that they did not see the young man anywhere, until they realised and located that his body remained inert at the bottom of one of the pools of Trocadero Sotogrande, one of the most recognisable and very deep. It was there after an unfortunate accident of the deceased himself.
They quickly jumped to his rescue and with enormous work and effort managed to pull his lifeless body out of the pool. As hard as they tried to stimulate him by performing resuscitation exercises (CPR), it was unfortunately impossible to achieve a favourable result.
Various emergency personnel were on the scene, as well as agents of the Guardia Civil and different organisations.

El curso escolar 2023-2024 comienza en el Valle del Guadiaro (y su área de influencia), con gran éxito tras un nuevo proyecto académico de gran calidad en el entorno, con la convivencia de algunos de los mejores colegios del sur de España. Una población escolar que deja datos más que interesantes, como que el 60% o más de sus estudiantes optan por una alternativa privada y de alto nivel en la zona.

Arranca, un nuevo mes de septiembre, la ilusión del curso escolar, despegue de emociones y proyectos educativos. El curso escolar 2024-2025 comienza en el Valle del Guadiaro (y su área de influencia más cercana) con un incremento en la cuota de integrantes en su comunidad escolar. En números estimados (hasta que no comience a rodar el curso plenamente e incluso ya en marcha estas cifras pueden variar), la comunidad escolar local se sitúa este año en unos 3.170 alumnos (aprox.) en total, una cifra que crece respecto a registros anteriores en los que se situaba en:
3.120 alumnos en 2023; 3.047 escolares en 2022; 2.752 en 2021; 2.738 en 2020; 2.682 (2019), 2.550 (en 2018), 2.440 (en 2017), 2.183 alumnos (en 2016) o la doble unidad de millar, a secas, en 2015.
Comunidad escolar local
Como es tradición, el Colegio Internacional de Soto-
grande (SIS) lidera el número de estudiantes inscritos para este curso en la zona. Este año afronta el curso superando el millar de alumnos en sus aulas (concretamente 1325), lo que supone una cifra similar, algo en aumento, al censo del pasado curso en casi medio centenar de alumnos, una línea ascendente extraordinaria con más de un millar
de escolares en sus instalaciones (161 de ellos en ‘boarding’). Respecto al volumen de multiculturalidad en sus aulas, destaca que entre el 70/75% de los mismos sean de origen extranjero, haciendo muy rica su comunidad culturalmente. Hasta más de 50 nacionalidades diferentes conviven entre sus clases; siendo la predominante la española seguida de la británica. Destacar, además de las más habituales, procedencias tan exóticas como Botswana, Arabia Saudí, Egipto, Santo Domingo o Malasia. Destacar también que cuenta con un número de profesores superior al centenar, un dato que es otra gran referencia en el sector.
Otro de los centros internacionales de referencia en el perímetro de Sotogrande que comienza el curso con algo más de 60 alumnos en sus instalaciones es la escuela-bosque Alma Forest, que ya dimos a conocer el
pasado año en las páginas de este medio. El centro cuenta con edades comprendidas entre 3-6 años en la escuela-bosque y 6-12 para Primaria con un plan de estudios acreditado de nivel internacional; con el inglés como lengua principal de enseñanza, con clases específicas en español. Destaca el reconocimiento de la creatividad y los pro-
yectos experienciales en un innovador concepto educativo en la zona.
También se encuentra en marcha, desde principios del mes de septiembre, el nuevo curso para las guarderías y centros de primera edad. Los puntos municipales de Campanilla (San Enrique), con 35 plazas, y de Puente de Hierro en Pueblo Nuevo, con 41 plazas, habría que sumarle una cifra cercana al centenar que se reparte entre las diferentes guarderías privadas de la urbanización y todo el Valle del Guadiaro.
Recuperando el hilo de mayor masa académica, tras el internacional sotograndino se situaría el CEIP Gloria Fuertes (repartido en zonas de Infantil y Primaria en Guadiaro y Pueblo Nuevo, respectivamente). En total acumula una cifra cercana a los 590 escolares. Se reparten, aproximadamente, entre más de 200 alumnos en Educación Infantil (Guadiaro),mientrasqueenEdu-
cación Primaria concurrirán este curso unos 380 escolares (Pueblo Nuevo).
Mencionar, en el siguiente apartado, al CEIP Barbésula en San Enrique de Guadiaro que durante este curso crece mantiene el crecimiento del pasado año en su censo. Este año alcanza cerca de 200 alumnos (divididos entre Infantil y Primaria). Para cerrar el capítulo local, el último en iniciar el curso en el IES Sierra Almenara (en Pueblo Nuevo). El centro, que ya sólo cuenta con niveles de secundaria, cifra en 340 alumnos, una cifra similar respecto a los 336 (aprox.) del pasado curso.
Otros centros de la zona, como Montessori, rozarían el medio centenar de escolares aunque es pronto para contar con una cifra exacta con el curso aún en su etapa de rodaje.
Alumnos que estudian fuera del distrito
Un amplio número de residentes de la urbanización y todo el Valle del Guadiaro eligen matricularse en centros vecinos y colegios cercanos. Tal es el caso de prácticamente un número cercano al medio millar, en muchos casos, buscando una diferenciación educativa a la propuesta de la zona.
Tal es el caso del Colegio San José, en Estepona. Este centro, que año tras años continúa consolidado entre los 100 mejores del país, recibe diariamente a más de un centenar de estudiantes procedentes de Sotogrande. En su mayoría de procedencia española aunque las nacionalidades británicas y rusas le siguen muy de cerca. También conviven en el centro procedencias como la belga, italiana, holandesa o francesa, entre muchas otras hasta alcanzar la cifra de 16 países. Su bachillerato internacional y las impresionantes infraestructuras y oferta educativa, convierten al San
José en uno de los colegios más demandados de toda la Costa del sol.
Los centros algecireños de Montecalpe y Puertoblanco son también dos de los destinos más demandados por la comunidad escolar local. Más de un centenar de estudiantes se desplazan cada
día hasta estos dos colegios, divididos por sexos, para cursos sus estudios. Caso similar ocurre con las ofertas educativas en Gibraltar, centros como Loreto o Prior albergan a casi medio centenar de estudiantes de la zona; así como en el Centro Casa de la Virgen, ubicado en Palmones y que
cada vez toma mayor relevancia en la Comarca.
Algo más voluminosa es la cifra de los escolares del Valle del Guadiaro, estudiantes de bachillerato, que pasan a San Roque Casco a cursar sus estudios, aproximadamente unos 150.
En resumen, el Valle del Guadiaro y Sotogrande conforman una amplia comunidad educativa, cercana a la del cualquier municipio medio de la provincia en el que destaca su alto nivel educativo como atractivo y modelo de referencia cara al exterior.

With a new September, the excitement of the school year is getting underway, along with the start of emotions and educational projects. The 2024-2025 school year is beginning in Valle del Guadiaro (and its closest area of influence) with an increase in the quota of members in its school community. In estimate numbers (these figures may vary until the year is fully underway and even when it is underway), the local school community this year has around 3,170 students (approx) in total, a figure that has risen compared to previous records in which it stood at: 3,120 students in 2023; 3,047 students in 2022; 2,752 in 2021; 2,738 in 2020; 2,682
(2019), 2,550 (in 2018), 2,440 (in 2017), 2,183 students (in 2016) and precisely two thousand in 2015.
Local school community
As is tradition, Sotogrande International School (SIS) leads the number of students enrolled for this year in the area. This year it is heading into the school year with over one thousand students in its classes (1325 specifically), which is a similar figure, a slight increase, to the number last year by almost fifty students, an extraordinary upward trend with over one thousand students at its facilities (161 boarding students). As for the level of multiculturality in its
classes, what stands out is that between 70/75% of them are of foreign origin, making its community very culturally rich. There are over 50 different nationalities among its classes; with a predominance of Spanish students followed by British students. In addition to the most common, it is also worth highlighting exotic origins such as Botswana, Saudi Arabia, Santo Domingo and Malaysia. It is also worth highlighting that it has over one hundred teachers, a figure that is another great benchmark in the sector.
Another of the leading international schools in the Sotogrande perimeter which is starting the school year with
over 60 students at its facilities is the Alma Forest woodland-school, which we already announced last year in the pages of this newspaper. The school has students aged 3-6 in the forest school and 6-12 in Primary with an internationally accredited study plan; with English as the main teaching language, with specific classes in Spanish. The recognition of creativity and experiential projects in an innovative educational concept in the area stands out.
Since the start of September, the new year for nurseries and early years centres has also been underway. In addition to the municipal points of Campanilla (San Enrique), with 35 spaces, and Puente
de Hierro in Pueblo Nuevo, with 41 spaces, there is also a number of close to one hundred divided between the different private nurseries in the resort and all of Valle del Guadiaro.
Returning to the thread of larger student bodies, after Sotogrande International School sits CEIP Gloria Fuertes (divided between the Pre-school and Primary areas in Guadiaro and Pueblo Nuevo, respectively). In total, it has a number of close to 590 students. They are divided approximately between over 200 students in Pre-school Education (Guadiaro) while there will be 380 students in Primary Education this year
(Pueblo Nuevo).
In the next section, it is worth mentioning CEIP Barbésula in San Enrique de Guadiaro which has grown, maintaining the growth of last year in its census. This year it has close to 200 students (divided between Pre-school and Primary). To complete the local chapter, the last school to begin the year is IES Sierra Almenara (in Pueblo Nuevo). The school, which now only has secondary level education, has 340 students, a similar figure to the 336 (approx) of last year.
Other schools in the area, such as Montessori, have close to fifty students although it is too early to have an exact figure with the year still getting underway.
Students who study outside the district
A large number of residents in the resort and all of Valle del Guadiaro choose to enrol in neighbouring schools and nearby schools. Such is the case of practically a number close to half a thousand, in many cases, seeking different education to the offer in the area.
Such is the case of Colegio San José, in Estepona. This school, whch year after year continues to establish itself among the 100 best in the country, welcomes over one hundred students from Sotogrande each day. They are mostly Spanish although are very closely followed by the British and Russians. The school also has nationalities such as Belgians, Italians, Dutch and French studying togethet at the school, among many others with a total figure of 16 nationalities. Its international baccalaureate and the impressive infrastructures and educational offer, make San José one of the most sought-after schools on the entire Costa del Sol.
The Algeciras schools of Montecalpe and Puertoblanco are also two of the most sought-after destinations for the local school community. More than one hundred students travel each day to these two schools, split by gender, to undertake their studies. There is a similar case with the educational offers in Gibraltar,
schools such as Loreto and Prior are hme to almost fifty students from the area; as well as the Casa de la Virgen School, located in Palmones which is becoming more important in the Province.
The number of students in Valle del Guadiaro, baccalaureate students is slightly larger, at approximately 150,
these students go to San Roque Casco for their studies.
In short, Valle del Guadiaro and Sotogrande form a large educational community, close to that of any average municipality in the province and stands out for its high educational level as an attraction and benchmark model for the outside world.
Abierto el plazo para solicitar becas de educación
Desde este lunes, 16 de septiembre, se encuentra abierto el plazo de solicitud de las cinco líneas de becas municipales, un plazo que se extenderá hasta el 30 de este mismo septiembre. El Ayuntamiento de San Roque ha ampliado este año las cuantías destinadas a las becas municipales de estudiantes sanroqueños, pasando de 55 a 120 mil euros. En total se ofrecen cinco líneas de ayudas que las familias pueden solicitar a partir del próximo lunes, enviando la documentación requerida en el registro de entrada del Ayuntamiento de San Roque, en las alcaldías de barrio del término municipal o a través de la sede electrónica. En primer lugar, una línea está destinada al alumnado de segundo ciclo de educación infantil (de 3 a 6 años)
de los centros docentes sostenidos con fondos públicos del Término Municipal de San Roque, con una cuantía máxima de 100 euros.
Una segunda línea se destina al alumnado de educación primaria de los centros docentes sostenidos con fondos públicos del Término Munici-
pal de San Roque, con una cuantía máxima de 120 euros.
En tercer lugar, se podrán beneficiar alumnos de Educación Secundaria Obligato-
ria de los centros docentes sostenidos con fondos públicos del Término Municipal de San Roque, con una cuantía máxima de 120 euros Una cu.arta línea de ayuda está dirigida al alumnado de Estudios pos-obligatorio no universitario: Bachillerato, FP Básica, ciclos formativos de grado medio, ciclos formativos de grado superior, en cualquier modalidad, tanto en oferta completa como en oferta parcial diferenciada de algún centro docente sostenido con fondos públicos de Andalucía, con una cuantía máxima de 250 euros. Por último, y como novedad este año, se destinan ayudas para el alumnado de Estudios de Grados Universitarios de alguna Universidad Pública de Andalucía, con una cuantía máxima de 300 euros.
Application deadline for education grants open
From this Monday, September 16th, the application period for the five lines of municipal scholarships is open, a period that will run until September 30th.

Finally, and as a novelty this year, grants are available for students of University Degree Studies at a Public University of Andalusia, with a maximum amount of 300 euros.

Estos trabajos van destinados con la intención de eliminar y mantenga libres de insectos y roedores este centro escolar ante el inminente inicio del curso.
Estas labores de fumigación están destinados a eliminar todo tipo de insectos y roedores que durante el periodo estival puedan haber aparecido por la zona y en los alrededores del centro escolar.

Mediation: Transforming stressful emotions into energy for one’s own wellbeing
In many respects the year starts in September, doesn’t it, with new routines and new challenges that can generate stress and also pose new challenges for the exercise of your mediating leadership?
How do you manage your change processes by transforming stress into driving energy for your own well-being? During the pre-mediation stage, when I work individually with the parties in conflict preparing them for the mediation, we apply some keys that I would like to share with you today:
1. Freeing emotional space, i.e. neutralising negative feelings. In order to reinterpret a situation of conflict or concern, it is key, first of all, to have left space for healthy emotions. One way to start doing this is through breathing. It needs to be paced and harmonised. Heart Coherence exercises, which in just 3 minutes help to synchronise heartbeat and brainwaves, work very well here. In addition, there are many other ways to predispose yourself to healthy emotions: meditate, watch a motivational video, practice your favourite sport, listen to good music, dance or sing. Doing, even if only for a few minutes, something that brings peace and joy is key to making room for healthy emotions.
2. Empower ourselves, connect with criteria of power that allow us to recognise our part of control and dominion over the stressful situation. To achieve this, it is necessary to analyse the situation to discover possibilities, alliances and resources that are or may be within our reach. Mediation techniques through questions, rephrasing or exercises, as well as mediation tools, are of great help here. This is also the time, if necessary, to seek advice from experts or specialised sources in order to have all the important and necessary information.
3. Align objectives with possible future scenarios in the medium and long term. This is the moment for creative reflection. Reflect in order to give meaning, directionality and strength to the plot of power that we have just defined, transcending the natural resistance to change. Resistance to change is doubt or being inspired by unfounded fears or other cognitive distortions rather than by values that strengthen and encourage will. Applying these 3 steps to transform your worry into creative energy will go a long way in combating stress. With a little help, you can do it quickly. It is important that you commit yourself to the new solutions and projects of the third step, that you identify with them and that they are coherent with your personal values and opinions. When a difficulty is experienced from this coherence, it becomes much easier to transform blockages into opportunities at will; to transform negative feelings into their opposites, fear into determination, uncertainty into informed conviction or sadness into joy.

Los ejercicios de Coherencia Cardiaca que, en apenas 3 minutos ayudan a sincronizar latidos y ondas cerebrales, funcionan muy bien aquí. Además, para predisponerte hacia las emociones saludables existen muchos otros recursos: meditar, ver un video motivacional, practicar el deporte que más te gusta, escuchar buena música, bailar o cantar. Hacer, aunque sea por unos minutos, algo que de paz y alegría es clave para abrir espacio a las emociones saludables.
2. Empoderarnos, conectar con criterios de poder que permitan reconocer nuestra parte de control y dominio sobre la situación estresante. Para lograrlo es necesario analizar la situación hasta descubrir posibilidades, alianzas y recursos que están o puedan estar a nuestro alcance. Las técnicas de mediación a través de preguntas, reformulaciones o ejercicios, así como las herramientas de mediación, son de gran ayuda aquí. Es el momento, también, si es necesario, de pedir consejo a expertos o fuentes especializadas para contar con toda la información impor-
tante y necesaria.

Es importante que te comprometas con las nuevas soluciones y proyectos del tercer paso, que te identifiques con ellos y que estos sean coherentes con tus valores personales y opiniones. Cuando una dificultad se vive desde esta coherencia, resulta micho más sencillo transformar bloqueos en oportunidades a voluntad; transformar los sentimientos negativos en sus opuestos, el miedo en determinación, la incertidumbre en convicción informada o la tristeza en alegría.

la inclusión, el aprendizaje creativo y la salud de los niños
En un contexto de creciente interés en la naturalización de los patios escolares, es esencial asegurarse de que el diseño y la gobernanza de estos espacios son los adecuados para conseguir los múltiples beneficios que proporcionan estos entornos a los escolares y a la sociedad en general. Un estudio publicado en abierto elaborado por las investigadoras Filka Sekulova e Isabel Ruiz-Mallén, del Laboratorio de Transformación Urbana y Cambio Global (TURBA Lab), perteneciente al Internet Interdisciplinary Institute (IN3) de la Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC), se adentra en el
proceso de diseño de estos espacios para proponer una gobernanza que facilite el éxito en todos los ámbitos.
El estudio se basa en el análisis de procesos de diseño de patios escolares naturalizados en cuatro ciudades: Barcelona, París, Bruselas y Róterdam. “En las cuatro ciudades que hemos estudiado vemos que la mayoría de los esfuerzos se dirigen a fomentar la participación en las fases de visión y preparación del espacio, pero no tanto en las de implementación y mantenimiento. Sin embargo, los niños y niñas suelen apreciar más el lugar si han estado implicados
en su construcción; por ejemplo, con pequeños trabajos prácticos”, explica Filka Sekulova, que ha liderado el estudio. “
El perfil de los arquitectos y paisajistas es fundamental para crear un espacio exitoso y adaptado a las necesidades de los niños, las niñas y la comunidad. Deben ser profesionales comprometidos con la educación, la pedagogía, la ecología del paisaje y la permacultura en general. Las investigadoras observan que, “cuando estos profesionales están abiertos a un proceso horizontal de cocreación, con elementos experienciales y artísticos, los resultados son claros: patios escolares muy diversos, verdes y únicos, un lugar donde los escolares desarrollan un sentido de pertenencia. La ciencia (The Theory of Loose Parts, de Simon Nicholson, 1972) ha demostrado que la colocación de piezas sueltas, como materiales naturales y reciclados, estimula la creatividad y la imaginación. Así, estos patios verdes pueden incluir colinas, puentes, caminos y túneles, además de árboles, zonas arbustivas o suelos cubiertos con virutas de madera, entre otros. En cuanto a las estructuras de juego, es recomendable instalar cabañas y zonas de es-
calada hechas de madera reciclada (con troncos de árboles), anfiteatros, huertos, elementos de agua y barro e infraestructuras para la recogida de agua. Entornos de este tipo, no excesivamente ordenados y más flexibles, facilitan el aprendizaje al aire libre y promueven un juego más variado y creativo que los patios de cemento. “
A pesar de todas las ventajas que supone para los niños y las niñas pasar tiempo en espacios naturalizados, por el momento el sistema educativo no está preparado para integrar el sis-
tema de aprendizaje en el entorno exterior. “Por un lado, la enseñanza al aire libre no forma parte del currículum obligatorio. En general, falta formación sobre la educación en entornos exteriores y esto muchas veces se percibe como trabajo extra que, además, no está bien reconocido”, explica Sekulova. Las investigadoras proponen incluir módulos sobre aprendizaje y enseñanza al aire libre en los programas de formación de los futuros maestros, así como ofrecer formación a los profesionales del sector educativo.

A punto de cumplirse un año de la Solheim Cup 2023, está claro que el evento dejó una huella imborrable en el mundo del golf. Celebrada en la prestigiosa Finca Cortesin, la Solheim Cup 2023 no fue un torneo más; fue un momento histórico que cautivó a aficionados de todo el mundo y puso de relieve lo mejor del golf femenino.
Hasta el momento, el evento fue el más seguido en la historia de la Solheim Cup, atrayendo una audiencia sin precedentes tanto en televisión como a través de las redes sociales. Held at the prestigious Finca Cortesin, the 2023 Solheim Cup was not just another tournament; it was a historic moment that captivated fans around the world and highlighted the best of women’s golf.
So far, the event was the most followed in the history of the Solheim Cup, attracting an unprecedented audience both on television and social media. The numbers speak for themselves: more than 65,000 viewers, 14 per cent of whom travelled from the United States, a record for any Solheim Cup held on European soil. 52% of the attendees were women from 62 different countries, all united by their love of golf.
The presence of His Majesty King Felipe VI added a touch of royal grandeur to the event. His attendance on the final day underlined the importance of the Solheim Cup, not only as a sporting event, but as a cultural landmark - the first time it had been held in Spain.

Aunque el recorrido de San Roque siempre ha destacado por los torneos que ha acogido en el ámbito amateur, los profesionales que han pasado por allí han dejado huella. Todo viaje tiene un inicio y un cierre, en este caso casi el soñado para los amantes del golf, con la celebración de la última y quinta prueba clasificable en Montecastillo Golf.
El magnifico trazado jerezano se convierto en el escenario idónea para la prueba más decisiva de la temporada, la que define a los elegidos y clasificados para la Gran Final el próximo 15 de noviembre en Finca Cortesín (sede en 2023 de la Solheim Cup). • The fantastic Jerez course Montecastillo Golf hosted the last and fifth regular event of the XI Sotogrande Golf Circuit.
Every journey has a start and an end, in this case almost the one dreamed of for
golf lovers, with the celebration of the last and fifth qualifying event at Montecastillo
Golf.
The magnificent Jerez course became the ideal setting for
the most decisive event of the season, the one that defines the chosen players and
those who qualify for the Grand Finale on 15 November at Finca Cortesín (the 2023 venue of the Solheim Cup). The fabulous resort hosted this wonderful event which also had a preamble the night before, with the celebration of a cocktail party, provided by the organisers and a hotel as a reference point for the players who stayed over the night before the tournament.
As for the sport, the special prizes were: Felipe Fernández (Closest Ball); Jamie Dicks (Men’s longest drive) and Ana Beautell, in the Women’s category. In the Men´s First Category, Victory went to Oliver Moorhouse, followed by Jaime Dicks and Antonio Luis Homigo; while in the Men´s Second Category, Victory went to Antonio Diego Barranco Hurtado, followed by José Luis Jiménez Carrasco and Jan Rolf Pettersen. In the Women’s category, the winner was Beatriz Palominos Pascual, followed by Leire Van Beest de Toro and Concha Soler.

• El conjunto que lidera Facundo Pieres logra el máximo galardón del verano en Sotogrande, tras superar en una ajustadísima final a ATL, con un soberbio Barto Castagnola, y firma su doblete este verano la hacerse con la presea de oro y bronce en el Alto HCP.
Una final para el recuerdo. La Gran Finala de la Copa de Oro entre los conjuntos de Calatagan y ATL Marine & Energy puso un broche de libro para una fantástica 53º edición del Torneo Internacional de Polo en Sotogrande. Un duelo que acabó con triunfo de Calatagan ante un impetuoso y formidable equipo revelación de la temporada, ATL y un soberbio Barto Castagnola que hizo todo lo posible e imposible, por tratar de ganar el trofeo.

de hándicap, es ser reiterativo, pero es que fueron realmente inolvidables. Ambos guiaron y lideraron a sus equipos en todo momento, y también fueron muy bien complementados por sus compañeros.
En definitiva, y en un encuentro que parecía dirigirse indefectiblemente al chukker suplementario, una buena combinación de Cala-
tagan, con el aporte decisivo de Santiago Laborde y la posterior finalización por parte de Antonio Heguy, le dio la el título al conjunto del filipino Martín Romualdez, que por primera vez en su historia se queda con la Copa de Oro Turkish Airlines, y que cierra un 2024 inolvidable, que también incluyó la conquista de la Copa de Bronce Sotogrande.
También fue jornada de definiciones en el Bajo Hándicap, en donde Calatagan y 1896 Polo se midieron en su tercera: en la Copa de Bronce Sotogrande, el ganador había sido 1896 Polo; en la Copa de Plata Terralpa, el título le correspondió a Calatagan. A final to remember. The Grand Final of the Gold Cup between Calatagan and ATL Marine & Energy was the perfect finale to a fantastic 53rd edition of the International Polo Tournament in Sotogrande. A duel that ended in victory for Calatagan against an impetuous and formidable team, ATL and a superb Barto Castagnola who did everything possible and impossible to try to win the trophy.

nismo, la que será la 54º edición del Torneo Internacional de Polo de Sotogrande, entre el 28 de julio y 30 de agosto del próximo año 2025. La actividad principal comenzará a partir de la última semana del mes de mayo, con la celebración de la Copa Bienvenida KÉ Sotogrande (6-8 goles HCP) entre el 26 de amyo y el 1 de junio. A la siguiente semana, del 5 al 15 de junio se lleva a cabo la Copa Joseph McMicking (6-8 goles HCP), en honor al gran fundador de la urbanización de Sotogrande. Momento para la alta competición, del 19 al 26 de junio, con la celebración una temporada más del Open de España de Polo con dos categorías en juego, por un lado de 6-8 goles de HCP y con mayor nivel de equipos, otra categoría que acoge las escuadras de 10-12 goles de HCP.
La temporada se dispara completamente con la llegada del mes de junio y la celebración de dos memoriales tradicionales y fundamentales en la temporada de Sotogrande. Del 3 al 13 de julio se disputa el Memorial Manuel Parado y Colón de Carvajal (6-8 goles HCP) y el Memoria Fundador Enrique Zóbel (10-12 goles HCP), en honor al gran impulsor y promotor de este deporte en Sotogrande y que comenzó con la construcción de la cancha de playa. Recordar que hoy su nieta, Paola Zóbel es quién preside Ayala Polo y gran impulsora del polo en la actualidad y organizadora del Torneo Internacional. Precisamente, del 28 de julio al 30 de agosto se celebrará la 54º edición del Torneo Internacional de Polo de Sotogrande, repartido entres categorías: 6-8 goles de HCP, 10-12 goles de HCP y 20-22 goles de HCP, para el nivel alto. Además de sus tradicionales tres grandes trofeos: Copa de Bronce (28 de julio al 2 de agosto); Copa de Plata ( del 4 al 16 de agosto) y Copa de Oro (del 18 al 30 de agosto).
Para cerrar la temporada, la Copa San Enrique de Guadiaro (6-8 goles HCP) del 4 al 7 de septiembre y la Copa Despedida (6-8 goles HCP), del 11 al 14 de septiembre. En el horizonte otro inolvidable año de polo para el recuerdo en Sotogrande. No lo olviden: ¡que ruede la bocha!

The great entity that promotes polo in Sotogrande is presenting an agenda with 8 large competitions resulting in over 130 days of first-rate polo, with the 54th edition of the Sotogrande International Polo Tournament, between 28 July and 30 August next year in 2025 taking a special leading role.
The main activity will begin in the last week of May, with the celebration of the KÉ Sotogrande Welcome Cup (6-8 HCP goals) between 26 May and 1 June. The following week, from 5 to 15 June, the Joseph McMicking Cup (6-8 HCP goals) is taking place in honour of the great founder of Sotogrande resort.
