Why a PCO The benefits of using a Professional Conference Organiser

As a professional conference organiser, the question I am most often asked is: ”Why should we use your services?” Let me give you some reasons. We all know the saying ‘don’t sweat the small stuff’, well, that is our job. We take care of the details so you can concentrate on the business at hand. We will save you time, money, and stress. Experience We have literally been there and done that. Over the years we have developed systems for venue and supplier selection, managing delegates, marketing of the event and administration of exhibitors and sponsors, financial management, and the pre- and post-event administration. Project management approach A project plan will be developed, identifying all tasks, and assigning roles to specific sub-committees or individuals with deadline dates. We will monitor this timeline and provide regular reporting on it. Budgeting We will compile the event budget and then deliver a successful event within the budget.

Financial management We will open the event bank account, provide monthly financial reporting, handle VAT input and outputs and aim to wrap the event up within 60 days after the event concludes. Service provider relationships We know the industry and get our clients the best value for money on venue hire, catering, audio visual and technical equipment, accommodation, tours, and transport. Conference Programme & Abstract management Probably the most important component of any event, we will assist with the design of a successful programme and the seamless management of abstract submissions, reviews, acceptances and speaker preparation and care.

Turners Conferences & Conventions (Pty) Ltd was formed in 1994 to cater for the developing events industry in South Africa and has gone on to become one of the leading event management companies in the country. We provide professional services at international standards to a wide spectrum of clients.

We provide a full house secretariat function for Professional Associations and Societies thereby enhancing the entity’s operations to its members. Established in 2004 as part of Turners Conferences, to offer secretariat support for conference clients, who continued to use our services once the conference event had finished, and these successes lead us to establish Turners Secretariat as a separate division in The Turner Group of companies.

Turners DMC offers a comprehensive range of support services to assist Professional Conference Organisers with the destination and accommodation management for events large and small.
