Ladies Golf
Ladies Golf By Tammie Blank
Welcome back to “summer” …. And a wave goodbye to a few of our more Northern oriented members. We will welcome you back in October and November.
The PRPC’s “Grounds Committee” now has two lady members. Ladies often see the courses from a different perspective than the men players. The ladies will accept and consolidate your comments for the “Grounds Committee” to review, and then make appropriate recommendations to our Heritage Golf management. Please send your factual comments to either Monique Lyons (Monique@thrustsc.com) or Liz Bailey (bbts321@gmail.com). The Committee needs to know about specific issues: boundary markers, course turf erosion, cart path damage, etc. The grounds committee works very hard to improve our courses, including having working days where our men have done tremendous repair work.
Rules & Relief: the PRLGA 18-hole association has adopted both a “Root Rule” and a “Pine Straw” rule.
When playing in any group feel free to adopt those rules for a less frustrating, and “acceptable” round.
An official statement of rules will be sent to you upon request. LGC.PRPC@gmail.com Monday “Ladies Open Play” day has been permitted to continue - but a robust participation by our ladies is necessary to maintain those tee-time segments. A weekly query about your intention to play is sent by email from Liz Bailey. Please RSVP to her and come join the group for a no-stress round of golf, 9 or 18 holes, walk or ride.
Etiquette: Keep or move rakes out of the way of play. Fill divots. Be proud to come back with empty sand bottles. These are OUR courses - we need to expend a little energy and thought to maintaining them.
Heritage Invitational Tournament: A “Ladies Division” is being planned - but needs Lady players to participate. Please contact me directly, or Bill Hazel, to indicate your intention to play. A minimum number of Ladies is needed to create a Division. It’s FUN and a good bargain. 2021’s format is available for your review. Dates: September 22, 23, & 24, 2022.
