The Wesleyan collections cover the entire Yorkshire region, with a concentration on the North and West Ridings. The archives can be read together to tell many stories of how Methodist communities developed, and provided religious instruction, support and education for diverse local audiences.
WOMEN
The archives of the Yorkshire branch of the Wesley Historical Society comprise a wide ranging, nationally important resource of over 15,000 books and archival items including Methodist magazines, conference reports, biographies of prominent and interesting members of the Methodist Church, chapel histories and other documents. Smaller associated Methodist archives are also held (Scholes-Monaghan archive; Guest papers; Lumbutts Sunday School archive) alongside collections on Christadelphianism and Unitarianism (Lancaster collection; Smith collection).
