THANK YO U F O R J O I N I N G U S ! Single Carrot Theatre has been proud to call Baltimore home since 2007, when the company moved here from Boulder, Colorado. Baltimore’s diverse population, history of supporting the arts, and welcoming atmosphere made it the perfect place for the Carrots to put down roots. Single Carrot moved into its permanent home here at 26th & N. Howard last year. It’s thanks to our many supporters and benefactors, including Seawall Development, which developed this location, that we’re here today. The money raised at this Fall Benefit sustains not only our Main Season and Second Series, but also Single Carrot Theatre’s education and outreach programs: we provide High School Conservatory scholarships, free afterschool literacy programs, and we bring actors and artists into classrooms across the city and state. Thank you for joining us tonight and for being such an important part of our efforts. Eat, drink, schmooze, do good!

GUEST OF HONOR D OREEN BOLGER Illustration by #WHERESDOREEN Animator Isaac Ewart

Every city has a few key people who champion the arts -- who encourage their development, champion their progress, and promote their practitioners. In Baltimore, no one fulfills that role more than Doreen Bolger. Since 1998, she has been Director of the Baltimore Museum of Art, repository of 90,000 works of art and one of the city’s jewels. That alone is enough to put her in a Top Ten list of arts advocates. But Doreen Bolger does more than run an internationally prestigious museum. She also extends herself to artists in all kinds of fields, across all disciplines. You’re just as likely to find her at a small gallery opening as you are at a dance performance, concert, or experimental theatre production. Doreen, in short, is the doyenne of the Baltimore arts scene. We’re proud to have her as our Guest of Honor and to salute her contributions to our city’s collective artistic excellence.

A Cat, a Coyote, and The Moon help weave Rivera’s story in language poetic and grounded, sensual and sardonic, all against the sweltering backdrop of a barren summer wasteland.
