Past emcees and participants have included automotive writers, key industry figures, car designers and entertainment personalities such as Jay Leno, Donald Osborne, Spike Feresten, Adam Carola, Ken Gross, Bruce Meyer, Jim Miller, Paul Russell, Patrick Dempsey, Hurley Haywood, Jerry Seinfeld, John Elkann, Miles Collier, Craig Jackson and Ed Loh. In one session, McPherson College students joined Osbourne to discuss automotive restoration.
The annual events are held in conjunction with the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, which culminates Monterey Car Week Sunday, August 15. Approximately 30,000 people visit Pebble Beach properties during the concluding weekend, and 50,000-plus attend related activities such as RetroAuto and the Car Forum the week prior. A luxury marketplace for the automotive enthusiast, Pebble Beach RetroAuto is a curated event which offers collectibles, memorabilia and automobilia, auto parts, original poster art and posters, books and literature, fine art, photography, luxury items, technological tools and official Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance merchandise.
The Forum, also in Concours Village, is Thursday, Friday and Saturday, August 12, 13, and 14, 9 a.m.–6 p.m., and Concours Sunday, August 15, 8–6 p.m. Times vary for the sessions. Seats are limited, and reservations are required for the nonticketed event.
The schedule is 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and 8 a.m.–6 p.m. on Concours Sunday. This special retail event is open to the public at no cost, but pre-registration is required.
“On our showfield, people expect to see cars they’ve never seen before –– and they will. But the Forum is a gathering of car lovers as well as cars. It’s a great way for our Concours attendees to delve deeper into cars and car issues of concern to enthusiasts,” the spokeswoman says. “The Forum provides the opportunity to meet and take part in conversations with individuals who have dedicated their lives to creating, racing and caring for great automobiles.”
