First licensed in Houston, TX, in 1977, Pat has had a strong career, touching nearly everything related to real estate through what will soon be her 14th move Growing up in a tiny town in Indiana with ambitions far more extensive than the town, Pat attended Ball State University in Muncie, IN, as a double major in Political Science and Journalism – a minor in economics; she was on the prelaw track. Pat and her husband, Mark, married in college, and since he graduated a year ahead of Pat, they followed his job to Houston, TX. Pat had to wait a year for residency, so real estate beckoned, and she answered that call. She was a top agent in her first year. Several moves and licenses in different states followed In 1989 when they moved to Connecticut, Pat's experience and business applications to real estate were sought by three significant franchises That started a 25-year consulting and writing working with almost every major franchisor and large company, helping to grow, develop and make companies powerful and profitable She also did quite a bit of work in the ERP world, primarily in SAP She has over 300 copyrights, including four business and real estate books

In 2012, she decided to get off the airplane and focus on the market nearest her home as a listing agent only She partnered with a buyer's agent and her husband and established the Smoke Rise Agents Team They captured market dominance in their first year While the team has changed and grown, that dominance in the market is still there, with Pat's business in her hyper-local market controlling a 42% market share. Her consultative skills and business focus have been driving forces. When her partners retired in late 2016, Pat began building her team earnestly. She sought to establish a culture where each person was given the tools, resources, and fuel to excel. The team's number one rule is no drama. Agents are taught business, consultative, advisory, and leadership skills as a foundation of their business. There are 22 agents with four support staff and other contracted services today.
