t is always a great idea to travel with family and friends during the cool Autumn season. To admire the fall beauty, some prefer travelling to maple-foliage viewing sites in Japan and Korea and others choose to extend their summer vacation in Southeast Asia. HK Express will continue to provide different promotional fares for you to enjoy perfect vacations all year round. Besides offering flights to destinations that showcase the season’s brilliant colors, we have been working hard behind the scenes to enhance our customer experience. Our website and booking system have just been refreshed, bringing a simplified and smooth interface to the booking process. We are also planning to develop partnerships with various airlines to expand our network of destinations. Stay tuned for our updates! In June, we took part in the Hong Kong International Airport Career Expo 2018 to recruit for 120 new positions, mostly in cabin crew, engineering and operations management services. On-site interviews were provided for both experienced professionals and fresh graduates who are passionate about the aviation industry. We have also successfully hired fresh talent through our Graduate Trainee Programme. They are now attending our 24-month training to hone their aviation acumen professionalism and expertise.

HK Express is also committed to serving and contributing to the community. As the number of volunteers keeps growing, we have officially established the HK Express volunteer team and have organized a wide range of community services including volunteer teaching in Yunnan province and volunteering at local nonprofit organizations. To cultivate creativity and cross-cultural awareness amongst local youth, HK Express rolled out the aircraft livery design competition in late March this year, inviting all underprivileged secondary students in Hong Kong to participate. With Kagawa Prefectural Government’s support, HK Express flew six talented winners on an all-expense-paid cultural exchange tour in Takamatsu to broaden their horizons. arble Mountains in Danang, Vietnam, are reputed as a Buddhist landmark and scenic paradise. Centuries ago, Vietnam was deeply influenced by the Han Chinese culture, which explains the proliferation of Buddhist temples large and small. Considered the tallest and most scenic of the five mountains, Thuy Son has attracted Buddhist devotees to its hugely popular Ling Ung Pagoda and other similar structures. There are also impressive displays of Buddhist statues in its natural caves.

百岳名山 — 玉山國家公園 YUSHAN NATIONAL PARK, TAIWAN 山國家公園是台灣最早期的國家公園之一，橫
玉 跨南投、嘉義、高雄市以及花蓮等地，是台灣 陸地面積最大的國家公園；其中包括了台灣第一高峰 — 玉山主峰。
玉山有古老的地層結構及斷崖、峭壁和峽谷等，山上的 景物會隨着登山高度出現變化，亞熱帶至亞寒帶的景觀 均可以看到。動物更是珍貴罕見，不少瀕臨絕種的物種 都棲息在玉山，包括台灣黑熊、黑臉琵鷺都有機會在這 裏出沒，因此玉山成為了研究台灣生態的重要區域。

柬製品市集 MADE IN CAMBODIA MARKET 柬製品市集位於 King’s Road 商場內，不少知名的 國際連鎖品牌，如 Hard Rock Cafe 已進駐這裏， 而市集就是商場的其中一部分。入口在貫穿暹粒市 命脈的暹粒河旁邊，門前放着一部搶眼的大水車。 經過特別規劃的露天市集充滿設計感，有着傳統柬 埔寨木製建築特色。市集中販賣的物件全部都是由 當地製作，盡是本土獨特設計，時尚與傳統結合，成 為柬製品市集中最引人入勝之處。 Stroll along the Siem Reap River and you will come across King’s Road Angkor, a food and shopping village brimming with international franchised restaurants and eateries. Siem Reap Art Center Market is a popular art market and must-visit destination for those who enjoy night shopping. Located on the east bank of the Siem Reap River and accessible by a wooden bridge, the night bazaar provides an impressive array of artifacts and souvenirs, including paintings, silk products, handicrafts, apparel, leather bags, purses, wallets, artworks and more. If you come across the ‘Kamonohashi Project’ sign displayed at some stores, it means that part of the proceeds will be donated to a charitable project, whether it is to stop human trafficking or prevent sexual exploitation of children and women. For every dollar you spend, a portion of the proceeds go to a worthy cause.

elebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival in Vietnam is all about spending time with one’s children and doing activities with them. It is also an occasion to mark the completion of a bountiful harvest.
Days before the occasion, children craft lanterns with their parents to prepare for the festivities. This gives the adults a precious opportunity to educate their little ones about the Vietnamese culture, strengthen their love for each other and build solid family bonds. Groups of children can be seen parading the streets carrying the lanterns they made, on the night of the festival. It is amazing to see so many brightly-lit lanterns spinning. If you happen to be there, you will hear their loud, hearty laughter filling the surroundings with excitement and joy. Drop by the Asia Park in Danang to find yourself amidst thousands of colourful lanterns, illuminating the entire place. Of course, never miss out on the mooncakes, each filled with an entire egg yolk to symbolize the full moon.

A large straw dragon lit by over 24,000 incense sticks, with two gigantic ‘fire pearls’ featured in the procession, promise an eye-catching spectacle. 粵 劇的雛形在元朝之前已出現，經過時代的演變，粵 劇也有着相應的改變。把廣東話引進粵劇，最後更
將戲棚官話全面改為廣東話；聘用女花旦取代男花旦， 近年甚至出現英文版的粵劇。 若希望對粵劇了解更多，可到沙田的香港文化博物館，裏 面有一個「粵劇文物館」，蒐藏粵劇文物，參觀者可以領 悟到置身粵劇行內當中的感受，或是到油麻地戲院及北 角的新光戲院認真觀賞一套粵劇表演，亦會是一個相當 不錯體驗。 油麻地戲院於 1930 年建成，是第二次世界大戰前建成的 電影院，現被活化為戲曲活動中心，提供人才培訓和粵劇 表演。而新光戲院曾獲不少名伶在此演出，例如新馬師曾、 袁世海、林家聲等，是香港少數現存的大型粵劇表演場地。 大家有空不妨進場，體驗一下粵劇文化這份瑰寶吧！ 01

he Hong Kong Heritage Museum in Shatin, East New Territories, is worth a visit if you want to learn more about the history, art form and cultural background of Cantonese Opera. At the Cantonese Opera Heritage Hall there, you can see a trove of operatic treasures, including valuable items once used by renowned Cantonese opera artists. There is also a reconstructed theatre in a bamboo shed. A variety of multimedia programmes at the museum will help you learn how Cantonese opera has evolved, its history and distinctive features. To watch a performance, head for the Yau Ma Tei Theatre, the largest theatre in Kowloon that opened in 1930 and has been restored to its former glory. It is classified as a historic building and one of the few old theatres from the pre-Second World War days. If you are on Hong Kong island, pay a visit to Sunbeam Theatre in North Point, which has won the title of ‘Hong Kong’s Grand Palace for Cantonese Opera’, with Chinese opera shows staged all year round.

Served twice a day, once in the morning and evening, this imperial feast is set with 12 dishes for variety and nutrition. They were meticulously cooked with superior ingredients to ensure a balanced diet for the royal families. This is why the original Surah dishes were never too spicy or salty.

HK Express cares about our Guests’ health, safety and comfort onboard Safety first • Please read the safety instruction card in the back of each seat and pay special attention to our cabin crew during the safety demonstration at the beginning of each flight. • We value the comfort and safety of each of our Guests, including those with infants. All infants must be seated on the lap of an adult for the duration of the flight unless an additional seat has been purchased. Please be advised that your infant must however be strapped onto the adult’s lap with the infant seatbelt during take-off and landing, and at any other time as instructed by the crew. • Laptops, Tablet and AV equipment must be switched off when the seatbelt sign is on. Guests are required not to use remote control or Bluetooth devices as they can interfere with the aircraft’s communications and navigation systems. • Loose items such as handbags or laptops must be stored underneath the seat in front or in the overhead lockers during take-off and landing.
No smoking • All HK Express flights are non-smoking. Please note that it is a criminal offence to smoke in any part of the aircraft. Your health & comfort • Try to walk around the cabin from time to time during your flight to encourage blood circulation, avoiding fatigue and muscle stiffness. • We would also recommend some simple stretching exercises every hour such as flexing your toes and raising your knees gently towards your chest. These exercises can potentially reduce the risks of blood clots in the legs, or deep vein thrombosis (DVT). • If you are prone to poor leg circulation, wearing specially designed flight socks or compression stockings can be extremely beneficial. • We recommend that our Guests try to minimize caffeine and alcohol consumption onboard to prevent health problems such as headaches, bloating and dehydration. Drinking water and fruit juices are the best options to keep your body suitably hydrated.
