Beautiful gardens open for charity Exeter, Mid and East Devon

Welcome to Hospiscare’s Open Gardens 2015! “Designing a garden for the Hospiscare East Devon Day Hospice has been a most meaningful experience in empathy and I can think of no greater role for a garden than providing pleasure and refuge during illness. T he garden will be warm and interesting, with private seating, rich colours of irises and warm evening lighting. Kathryn Aalto is an American landscape designer, author, historian and lecturer living and working in beautiful Devon. She designs classic to contemporary gardens with a special interest in Italian, naturalistic and therapeutic gardens. Her website is www.kathrynaalto.com. She welcomes new clients, whether small urban gardens or large country estates. Otter Nurseries is proud to sponsor the Open Gardens programme for 2015. We have a long-standing relationship with Hospiscare, our charity of the year in 2012, and fully support its wonderful work in the provision of high-quality care and support for local people with a terminal illness. Open Gardens allows gardeners the chance to show off the fruit of their labours. Gardening is at the heart of what we do and for us there is something magical when someone opens up their garden for visitors to enjoy. We hope to get the chance to appreciate some of the gardens too, and we wish Open Gardens 2015 every success.
