The One Where I Leave You
Things I’ve learnt
The three years on the course has taught me a lot, not just about graphic design but also myself. I’ve surpassed all expectations of myself many times, proving that I can in-fact achieve what I want when I put my mind to it and work bloody hard.

- I stuck to what I knew and didn’t stray too far from my comfort zone. - My scope for design was very narrow. - I settled and never pushed myself further. - But I gained confidence.

‘ The least favourite point of the year was collaborative work in groups, I haven’t had too many issues with the people I’ve worked with. I think it’s more having to answer to other people and the stress involved with communication and agreements. Sometimes I think I’ve probably been the problem because I’m a massive pain in the arse to work with because I’m awkward and stubborn.’

‘ Over the course of level 5 I believe I have achieved quite a lot in terms of developing my knowledge as a designer and my professionalism, there’s still a way to go but I’m feeling like a professional designer who’s developing their craft as opposed to a student learning their craft.’

We have the same amount of hours in the day as anybody else, don’t limit yourself. It’s amazing how much work you can do in the space of a day if you focus and are willing to work hard.

Learning to collaborate
I’ve learnt over the three years that creativity comes from a conflict of ideas, my ideas are not always the best and I sometimes have to admit it. (Even if it does boost Sam’s ego)
