Message for the
AMR Family I want to take the opportunity that this platform offers me, on the commemoration of the 20th anniversary of AMResorts, to mention and highlight each of you as part of our success and to thank you for your contribution to building this story. Through your support and exceptional service, you have provided unforgettable experiences to our guests.
Congratulations to all and thank you for being part of these 20 years of history!
I cannot fail to mention, thank, and acknowledge the vision of our founders, Alex Zozaya, Javier Coll, and Gonzalo del Peón. They built the foundations that today have led us to celebrate 20 years of a dream come true, and that has exceeded all expectations. They have also sown from day one the seed of our culture and Mission: “To turn vacation dreams into life-long memories.” Every day, we continue to strengthen and grow, paving the way to bigger commitments and responsibilities, which undoubtedly strengthen our Company. The union of all of our efforts must make a difference. With this in mind, I am confident that we will continue to write this story together. Our
History Learn a little bit more about the success story that began 20 years ago: 2001

We started our first contract to operate the Sunscape Grand Punta Cana hotel in the Dominican Republic. Therefore, Sunscape Resorts & Spas was the first brand in our portfolio.
We launched our second brand, Secrets Resorts & Spa, in Uvero Alto, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
We started operations in Mexico with the Secrets Capri hotel and the takeover of the Sunscape Tulum Riviera Maya hotel (currently Dreams Tulum Resort & Spa). Besides, we introduced our Dreams Resorts & Spas brand.
We launched the Unlimited-Luxury® and Unlimited-Fun® concepts.
2013
ALG was acquired by Bain Capital, which obtained the majority of its capital. Besides, we added the Breathless Resorts & Spas brand to our portfolio.

2014
We expand to Costa Rica with the opening of Dreams Las Mareas Costa Rica.
2016
AMR increased its presence in Mexico and Jamaica with the opening of 10 hotels. This same year, we expand to Panama with the opening of Dreams Playa Bonita Panama.
2017
KKR and KSL took over and bought their participation in the group. All resorts in Mexico got the “Tourist Recognition” from the Secretariat of Tourism in Mexico. In addition, we launched our first Connect News edition.

Our Endless Privileges® model is launched, and we took over the operation of Zoëtry Paraíso de la Bonita Riviera Maya, the first hotel of this exclusive brand.
Our Now Resorts & Spas brand was born. We also enter the Jamaica market with two new Secrets Resorts & Spas.

Special Interview with Alex Zozaya 1. Describe yourself in 3 qualities: Leadership Solidarity Discipline
2. What would you do if this weren’t your current job? Actually, I had no idea I would end up in the hospitality sector. I wanted to become a graphic designer or an architect, which were my passions back then. Also, I used to have a band with some friends.
3. What do you do in your spare time? I love scuba diving; I learnt how to swim at the same time I learnt to walk. The following day after I learnt how to dive, I took some tourist friends to do some scuba diving. I had an encounter with a shark once and ever since scuba diving is one of my greatest passions. Everytime and everywhere I dive, I prefer being surrounded by sharks of any kind: I consider myself a shark lover.

4. Have you ever dreamed about the AMR success? I always knew we would arrive at this point; however, I didn’t know that we were going to be this solid and strong, currently managing more than 100 hotels.

8. What would you say is the common denominator which has brought us to this point? Undoubtedly, passion, which is our main value. It is extremely important to transmit this passion among us and our guests. Another important element is ambition. We are aware that the best is yet to come, and for us it is a stimulus which makes us take strong steps and have a clear vision.
5. What makes AMR better than its competitors?
9. What is the best satisfaction that AMR has provided you?
We are best at creating concepts, branding them, creating expectations of experiences, and then delivering a product that can be spread in order to sell out our hotels at the highest possible rates.
To be able to create a team composed by more than 20,000 staff members in AMR. These families have the same passion and thanks to all of them I can be at peace with the following steps of the company.
6. What does the 20th anniversary mean to you?
10. What is your process to overcome adversity?
I did envision us getting to the 20th anniversary as I do envision the 30th and so on. However, I couldn’t imagine how solid and strong we would be. Of course this is an important date for me to celebrate. I remember us being excited when we were celebrating our 10th anniversary; but now, after another 10 years, we realized that the achievements have multiplied. There are people working with us since day one and before day one. It has been so far an amazing, successful and passionate journey.
I always ask Gonzalo and Javier what to do (laughs). The truth is that each crisis has brought strength. The first one was when we were born, 40 days before 9/11; however, we offered a different concept back then in the middle of the crisis. The same happened during the 2009 crisis, hurricanes and pandemics. Each one of these situations has brought strength. Our business model shines in times of crises.
7. Where does success come from? Success comes from how we differentiate our products and make them more attractive and adaptable to every guest and situation. Additionally, what makes us different is our human capital, who provides a warm and cheerful service, making this story of success possible.
11. An anecdote you will never forget from the AMR family... There are plenty, but I especially love the ribbon cutting moments in each one of our opening ceremonies because of the excitement we are all feeling. Here is an interesting anecdote: one of our guests gave birth in their bathroom at the Secrets Capri hotel, it all happened so fast that when the doctor arrived, the baby was already born and attended by our team. I have some other moments in mind regarding the teamwork before, during and after a hurricane, staff members who stay in the hotel to help and serve our guests. During these moments, we become one: We do it together.

12. What do you foresee for AMR in 20 years from now? We will grow faster than expected. I can see a global company, probably the biggest one within the leisure sector. I also see a worldwide presence of our brands; and I know there will be professional growth for everyone in our team. We must never stop behaving like a small company even though we are big.
13. What book would you recommend to us? The Book of Awakening by Mark Nepo.
14. An advice you would give to all the staff members who are building their dreams and working everyday to make them come true... First of all, do what you love to do, this way you will have greater chances to succeed. It is better to reinforce what we can do than trying to overcome our weaknesses. Following our natural skills will make us successful, not only economically but also personally. The tourism sector is kind, generous and grateful; everyone has the chance to participate and grow. We have to reinvent ourselves, we need to choose what to prioritize. Do not resist change. Those who do not resist and adapt rapidly are those who become stronger and overcome crises.

AMR News AMR™ Collection Announces Debut of NewZoëtry Wellness & Spa Resorts We are pleased to take this opportunity to announce two new resorts brand management deals:Zoëtry Casa Del Mar Los Cabos and Zoëtry Marigot Bay St. Lucia. These two properties areconversions from independent resorts and will expand the Zoëtry Wellness & Spa Resortsportfolio to seven properties, establishing its footprint in two additional destinations uponopening. Anniversary Cocktail The Secrets The Vine Cancun hotel was the venue for the celebration of the AMR Collection anniversary cocktail, with the Corporate AMR Operations team. The event was held on September 23 on the hotel rooftop and had the special participation of some members of the ALG executive committee, such as Alejandro Reynal, Gonzalo del Peón, Javier Águila, and Gabriel Felip. At the celebration, attendees enjoyed a toast in commemoration of our company’s 20th anniversary. Cheers to many more years of achievement and success!

AMR News Our Hotels in Mexico Received Federal Certification “Punto Limpio” At AMR Collection, after having fine-tuned our hygiene protocols and implementedcorrectly the quality system in each of our properties, we received an audit from theNobasu Consultores company, who are certified by the Mexican Secretary of Tourism(Spanish: Secretaría de Turismo, SECTUR) to carry out supervision and control activities.After a strict process, we achieved the official recognition called “Sello de CalidadHigiénica y Sanitaria Punto Limpio”, which is shown in the facilities of our hotels. With this certification, we demonstrate our goal of protecting our guests, teammembers, and communities health.

Anecdotes and history about occupational safety in AMR AMR was celebrating its 5th anniversary when I started to work here and those memories will last forever. Along with the development of this family, most of us have had the honor to experience historical moments. Today, I’m going to tell you some moments related to the Occupational Safety and Health development of AMR Dominican Republic. While I was still studying industrial engineering, I was passionate about Occupational Safety and risk prevention, which I had the chance to pursue later when I became a laundry assistant in Dreams La Romana. On March 18th, 2009, with the support of the General Manager Mr. Daniel Hernández and Mr. Julio Peña, we created the first Safety and Hygiene Committee of AMR Dominican Republic. It was

a great team representing all the areas in the hotel supported by law 522-06, regarding occupational safety and healt I remember that back in 2018 we were invited to take part in the OSH national fair. We took this opportunity to assemble our stand on the 3rd floor of the Ministry of Labor. This stand had a beach, sunbeds, a front desk, and many more; everyone wanted to take pictures and get more information. Actually, it was the mostvisited stand of the fair, hundreds of people wanted to know more about AMR.

Dreams La Romana, a resort that we operated until 2018, was the first property of AMR which designed and created its safety program, and the first resort of the country which had its system certified by the Ministry of Labor in the Dominican Republic. Due to this fact, we were frequently used as a reference to other companies.

After successfully carrying out the project, we wanted to spread it to other resorts, and in 2019 we got the certification by the Ministry of Labor. This way, we became one of the first hotel chains in the Dominican Republic to achieve this as a group.

Achieving the deployment of a management system on a corporate level in the hotel sector was unprecedented in this country. It was very exciting for us and for the authorities, who always invited us to take part in national activities such as the celebration of the World OSH Day, where we received an award as the most distinguished company.

Due to our commitment to the OSH, we have had continuous participation in these national activities, unlike other hotels. Our actions have led AMR to stand out from the rest and also motivated other companies in the hotel sector.

In 2020, thanks to the contribution of Ismael Tavarez, the commitment of local leaders in OSH, and the complete support of Daniel Hernández and regional executives, we received the certification of our OSH Management System as a hotel chain and congratulations from the Dominican Republic President for being a role model to the whole country.

Wellness 10 Powerful Benefits of Change and Why We Should Embrace It We are often resistant to change, and we don’t realize that change itself is constant. Even if you resist or avoid it, it will enter your life just the same. When you initiate the change yourself, it’s easy to adapt to it, since it’s a wanted one. But are the unplanned and unexpected changes bad? What if all changes were good by default? Career related changes brought self-confidence. All those changes led me to the realization of what I wanted to do with my life. In general, when looking back, I realize that all the good things in my life are the results of changes that occurred in the past. People usually avoid changes and prefer to stray in their comfort zones, but I am true believer that once you get the courage and take the first step to change, your life will become much better. Below are just few benefits of change: 1. Personal growth
You grow and learn new things every time something changes. You discover new insights about different aspects of your life. You learn lessons even from changes that did not lead you to where you wanted to be. 2. Flexibility Frequent changes make you easily adapt to new situations,

new environments, and new people. As a result, you do not freak out when something unexpectedly shifts. 3. Improvements We all have things in our lives we’d like to improve—finances, job, partner, house, etc. All of us know that nothing will improve by itself. We need to do things differently to make that happen. Without change, there’d be no improvements. 4. Life values From time-to-time changes make you reevaluate your life and look at different things foam different perspective. Depending on what the change is, it may also reinforce your life values. 5. The snowball effect Often, we give up because we cannot accomplish the difficult task of making a huge and immediate change. That is when small changes become extremely valuable. One shift at a time, small changes will eventually lead you to the desired big one.

9. New beginnings Each change is a turning page. It is about closing one chapter and opening another one. Changes bring new beginnings and excitement to life. 10. Routine So next time you get the temptation to avoid or resist the change, aim instead to initiate the ones that will lead you to where you want be.
