words for the

AMRESORTS FAMILy together we can!

Dear AMResorts Family, In this new stage of our "I AM Resorts" magazine, I want to start by expressing how proud we are for the way in which our teams in all hotels have responded to changes, adaptation, and new protocols. Everybody has worked tirelessly to guarantee the safety of staff members and guests and caring for the permanence of our business. As the weeks go by, we have been re-opening more hotels. We have taken all necessary measures to mitigate risks and we have planned a long-term sustainable model. This model communicates to the market and to our guests, the high level of safety, efficiency, and professionalism that AMResorts and its entire team of staff members guarantee in this phase of returning to a future of normality. Words simply cannot express the way we feel when we see your response to this difficult, unpredictable, and difficult situation. This is a historic moment for the world. These are the moments in which true leaders and commitments emerge.

2

EDITION 40

Prevention continues to be our main focus, so from this rostrum, we are encouraging all staff members to continue taking all the necessary precautions to stay healthy. Our company will continue supporting all the implemented protocols to guarantee safety in all our hotels. Tourism will recover. We will return to where we were, but to overcome this as an industry and to reach the other side of this crisis, we must continue to work together, focused, and very aware of the situation we are going through in the tourism sector worldwide. I am confident that together we can overcome the enormous challenges we face. We will fulfill our mission to transform dream vacations into memories of a lifetime. Thank you all! Gabriel Felip

THINK, ACT AND WORK SAFELY

RubEn Caraballo

Standards and Innovation Manager R.D.

How is the Health and Safety Management System Integrated to Prevent COVID-19? We have previously shared that the COVID-19 pandemic is caused by the contagion of the type 2 coronavirus of severe acute respiratory syndrome or SARS-CoV-2, and that this phenomenon has affected the way in which we face various issues in the daily lives of our staff in our hotels. One aspect that is clearly and directly linked to successfully fighting Coronavirus type 2 in our hotels, is the integration of the Occupational Health and Safety Management System (SGSST).

Now I want you to take the following journey in your mind; start when you get on the bus coming to the hotel until you arrive at your work area. Think about the answers to the following questions: How can we improve preventing health risks in these areas?

What activities does the Health and Safety Committee of your hotel carry out in contributing to preventing contagions?

Remember that the basis of this concept is its own definition. Occupational safety and health according to the World Health Organization (WHO), is a multidisciplinary activity aimed at promoting and protecting the health of w o r k e r s , t h ro u g h t h e prevention and control of occupational diseases and accidents. The International Labour Organization (ILO), establishes that workers must be protected against diseases in general. This includes occupational diseases and accidents at work.

18

EDITION 40

Âż?

What ideas do you propose to improve health and safety in your workplace?

Remember that your participation and integration of the tasks designed to prevent the spread of the virus and other diseases is key. Do not miss the opportunity to participate, this is a perfect time. Ask your OSH committee about the action plan they are executing and how you can be part of it. Together we can, together we do!

It is important to remember that our Company has always been focused on these aspects and is currently reinforcing them with the implementation of CCV and POSIcheck.

We thank you share your ideas, experiencies and suggestions to

LET´S GET

Our return to the new normal

SOCIAL

Hello, dear colleagues! I am very excited that many of our hotels are already running operations and that soon the rest will be open as well. The enthusiasm and joy of our staff members in having returned to work and doing what we love is noticeable, especially when I read the comments in our social network reviews. How good it is to have you back! As we return to work, we have to adapt to the new hygiene and health rules. These rules will bring greater safety and pleasant experiences to both our guests and our working environment. I know you are happy to return and that you might surely have encountered repeating guests or new guests who are grateful for traveling again. Let's not forget that although the use of masks by guests in public areas is not mandatory in most countries and states, this does not mean that COVID-19 no longer exists. Be careful, we cannot lower our guard. So here you have some tips that are important for you to follow and help us in sharing them with your colleagues.

In the Front of the House: Do not shake hands, hug, or touch the guest. Not even a pat on the back. Try to keep a healthy distance from guests as much as possible. This means keeping at least 5 feet of distance. Keep a healthy distance with colleagues, not only in the backstage but especially in the guest area. Remember that we lead by example, so if you are keeping the 5 feet of distance with guests then you should do it with your colleagues as well. This is extremely important! Keep your face mask on in guest areas. The fact that you wear it makes them feel more secure, even when they are not wearing one.

In the Backstage of the House: Although we are happy to see our colleagues, it is still NOT suggested to remove the mask in public areas, shake hands, touch, or hug. I know it's difficult, but we have to make this sacrifice a little longer. Remember to wash your hands frequently and use sanitizing gel. Keep all areas you use neat and clean. This includes your working area, your space in the staff members' dining room, lockers, bathrooms, etc. Remember that taking care of ourselves is everyone's responsibility.

23

EDITION 40

Photos with guests: Remember to keep a healthy distance, even in photos. There are several angles that you can use to appear in the picture together and still respect social distancing. I also know that it is difficult, but if a photo does not comply with the healthy distance protocols, this photo cannot be published by us. It is also not wise. If a guest publishes one of these photos on their social networks, that can create a bad impression of our company for NOT following hygiene and safety protocols. Be careful with that, I have to confess that I have found several photos that do not respect the healthy distance between staff members and guests. At the moment we are not offering TripAdvisor cards, so it is even more important than ever that you verbally invite guests to leave a review if they are having a good time. Why do we want more reviews? In addition to climbing the rankings, if travelers are planning to visit us, we want them to feel more confident in doing so, and thus we can recover our occupancy numbers sooner.

As you can see, you play a very important role in getting travelers motivated enough to return to our hotels. Keep up the great work, as you already do, and thank you so much for being back with us. See you in the next edition and as always... Together we can!

Punta Cana is blessed with one of the longest white-sand shores in the Caribbean, a total of 30 miles that are emphasized with coconut palms that seem to reach up to the sky. Punta Cana is synonymous with seaside rest and relaxation. This is where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Caribbean Sea; from the far north at Uvero Alto to the south at Cap Cana. In Punta Cana, all-inclusive resorts and boutique hotels offer all the pampering and comfort that modern oceanfront living has to share.

It is located between the waters of Playa Blanca and Playa Serena in Punta Cana. The Igneri Caribe Taino Submarine Museum transforms the area into a unique cultural place for snorkeling. It was created by the Dominican artist Thimo Pimentel. The 22 submarine sculptures represent Taino statues lying underwater at a depth of ten to twenty three feet.

Here you will not only find fun under the sun but also there are fine white sand beaches, as well as a crystalline and iridescent sea to swim, fish, or take a dive in among the marine life and sunken ships. Punta Cana is also a golfer's paradise, as it offers 10 golf courses located along the coast, in addition to a beach landscape with luxurious marinas, and gourmet dinners. Punta Cana also has a wellness area with the best spas in the country, including the only Six Senses Spa of the Caribbean.

WELLNESS Bienestar para tu salud

SIMPLE TIPS FOR A

HAPPY AND HEALTHY LIFE

The biggest secret to a healthy life is that there is no real secret. Good health is not something you need to work hard on, rather it is something that most of us simply need to implement while reaching for a healthier lifestyle. Think of it this way: your body wants to be healthy, as that is its natural and balanced state. You don't have to be a marathoner or eat special super berries imported from the Amazon to feel your best. Healthy living is simple and can be achieved where you are and with what you have. Simply (re)-learn to treat your body with as little disruption to its basic function as possible. Then you will be on your way to feeling better than ever! Here are seven simple actions that can dramatically improve your health both immediately and in the long term. 1. SLEEP WELL People hate hearing this because it's hard. We live lives with tough schedules and pressures that don't support healthy sleeping habits. Yet, sleeping well is still very important. Healthy sleeping habits are essential for optimal energy, immunity, cognitive ability, physical strength, and endurance. Getting a good night's sleep helps slow the aging process and reduces the risk of diseases (from the common cold to heart disease). 35

EDITION 40

Due to modern lifestyle factors like staying up late or taking night shifts, you may need to slightly modify your environment or habits, to get into a natural rhythm.

2. DRINKING WATER Do you have a headache? Are you feeling slow? How much water did you drink today? Humans need a lot more water than most are probably adapted to drinking. That number goes up if you're a coffee drinker - caffeine is a diuretic, it flushes water out of your body, and it dehydrates you. Of course, you will also need to drink more water to make up for the time you spend sweating, like when you exercise or drive in a car in the heat, etc. Despite the common '8 glasses per day' rule, water needs vary from person to person. A general rule of thumb is to multiply your weight by 0.67; Therefore, if you weigh 120 pounds (55 kg), you should drink 80 ounces (2.3 liters) of water per day. Staying hydrated is such a simple part of staying healthy, this is often overlooked. Water removes toxins from vital organs, carries nutrients to cells, and aids digestion.

3. EAT REAL FOOD Your cells are literally made up of what you feed them with, so eat wisely. In general, eat fresh whole foods. Emphasize vegetables and high-quality protein. Also make sure you're getting enough high-quality fats (organic from grass-fed animals if it's animal fats). Also avoid excess sugar, even from fruits. Definitely avoid processed or refined foods (refined flours, sugars, oils), which normally rule out most packaged foods. Eating well doesn't have to be complicated.

4. MOVE YOUR BODY Make exercise every day, move your body in any way you want. Go for a walk, run, yoga, lift weights, whatever. Any type of movement will help you feel good right away. For a long-term overall health improvement plan, try incorporating both movement (like walking, jogging, stair climbing) and strengthening (yoga, weight lifting, etc.).

5. SIT DOWN CORRECTLY Sitting is not good for you. In fact, it's pretty bad. But if you have to do it, do it right. Proper posture and ergonomics at your work desk are important, especially if you use your laptop in bed. Doing so will keep your spine safe and will help you avoid any back or neck pain that can wreak havoc on your entire body.

6. PRACTICE POSITIVE THINKING PATTERNS Optimistic thinking contributes to greater health and longevity. It is true! This is because feeling stressed and depressed is harmful to the body and hinders optimal health. When cultivating a healthy lifestyle, it is essential to recognize and redirect unhealthy thought patterns. Negative self-talk (such as perfectionist thinking, magnifying the negative, blaming ourselves) are all the ways in which we allow our mind, to enter a thought cycle that negatively impacts our mental and physical well-being. Find gratitude instead of flaws. After all, we become what we think.

7. PAY ATTENTION You don't have a body, you are a body. Try each of these tips and see how you feel after a few days, a week and after several months. If it seems overwhelming, analyze this list and focus on one item per week. It will be easier. All these points together, over time, will bring you closer and closer to your best version of a healthy life.
