Message for the AMResorts Family

Message for the

AMResorts Family For our company, it is very important that our staff members feel valued and happy with their jobs; it reflects our culture and how we have been changing throughout these 20 years. Our human capital is our most valuable asset and we have been able to continue building and growing better because of them. The number of hotels we operate are continuously growing, which allows us to create direct and indirect job opportunities for everyone, and to strengthen our tourism industry. Each one of us has the responsibility to be in continuous training and working as one big team. This is the only way that we will continue fulfilling our main mission: to turn vacation dreams into life-long memories. Part of the great success in AMResorts has been the innovation and distinction; so, we must look for new ways to make our guests feel at home in order to consolidate our leadership in the tourism industry. The union of all our efforts will make the difference, will make us stronger and will reinforce our relationships. It is our responsibility to keep doing what we have been doing until now in order to continue evolving and fulfilling our objectives. Our values are not just sentences, which is why I invite you to feel the responsibility of making them come true every day.

Finally, I want to thank all of you for being part of this great family and for making AMResorts the place where everyone wants to work! 4

Interview to Ray Snisky

Interview to

Ray Snisky GROUP PRESIDENT ALG VACATIONS

1. Describe yourself in 3 virtues Love Kindness Courage

2. What is your purpose in life? To share my blessings to positively impact others’ lives. With my family, my personal and business relationships, and others I engage in life. Giving back to help others brings me tremendous gratitude and appreciation.

3. What did you do before arriving at ALG? I started my career in the hotel business in Las Vegas; but for the last 24 years I have been in the Vacation packaging business with The Mark Travel Corporation and ALG. I joined ALG when it merged with Mark Travel in May 2018.

4. What do you think it is your added value for the company? My unique ability is to connect with people to bring confidence, internally and externally, that we are the company of choice for their bigger future. My focus is on collaboration with ALG team members, across ALG business units, for the greater good of the company overall.

5. Could you share with us an experience that marked your personal and professional life? I believe the decision to leave New York and attend UNLV, for a Hotel Administration degree, was a key 20

Giving back to help others brings me tremendous gratitude and appreciation professional career. When I graduated from UNLV in 1989, I expected to return to the east coast and work at a Marriott or Hilton to start my hotel career. But Steve Wynn was opening The Mirage. Timing was such that it presented a great opportunity to be a part of the rejuvenation of Las Vegas. If I had graduated just a year earlier that would not have happened. I subsequently learned about the wholesale and vacations business. Today, I may still be the only person who has a career that has taken them from New York to Las Vegas to Milwaukee. A path less travelled.

6. What are you most proud of? My family. There is nothing I want to be better at than being a great husband and father. I always can do better at both and strive to do so, but it is the most important job for me in my life. I am proud of my wife and children. They are fun, compassionate, caring people filled with kindness. I look forward to what they each bring to the world today and in the future.

7. What is your greatest achievement out of your professional career? What I am most proud of is what I am doing today; and have been doing for the last year and a half. Bring this company back from the unprecedented impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. There isn’t a playbook for shutting the travel industry down. But we needed to focus on providing clarity in our priorities and subsequent actions. We needed the ability to be decisive, staying steady and calm during a period of tremendous duress while being empathetic to what people were dealing with. Our business has returned with a speed we never could have anticipated. We are back and our business is currently thriving. Our team has been a complete inspiration.

8. How do you see yourself in 5 years? Leading the growth and improving the service and execution of the ALG Vacations’ business. Helping to drive the creation of a global distribution company that meaningfully contributes to the growth and performance of ALG around the globe.

9. What virtues make a good leader different? Honesty: Displaying truthfulness, courageously candid and trustworthiness Kindness: Considerate and friendly in nature. Autocontrol: Being a role model of control over your actions and emotions. Coraje: Ability to face difficulties without fear. Responsabilidad: Faithful to one’s obligations; being reliable in good times and bad.

10. What are you learning right now? Why I love my job is that there is always something new to experience and learn from. We constantly have new opportunities arise. I think applying your previous experience, and finding creative solutions to new challenges, is where the continued learning comes from. We are focusing on a business transformation right now; and driving new processes and business solutions has been energizing.

21

05

Conociendo a Ray Snisky

13. What quote would you give us? “After many years, people will rarely remember what you said or what you did, but they will always remember how you made them feel.” Always be kind to others. The kindest person in the room is the strongest. You can be strong, driven and powerful, but do it with kindness.

14. What is your life philosophy?

11. What should a leader not have? I think the worst thing a leader can allow to set in is complacency. A great leader continually, and relentlessly, strives for change and pushes for increased performance. There is an old saying “Whether you are the lion or the gazelle, you have to get up every day and run for your life.” I prefer to be the lion rather than the gazelle, but the effort needs to be the same. Regardless of your current success, complacency is a killer of growth, performance, and culture.

12. Do you consider yourself a good leader? I think that is a question better posed to the people I interact with in my life and our team members. Having said that, being a good leader is something that is extremely important to me. I am always trying to be better and constantly learning. That is the great perspective in assessing your leadership skills. Leadership is a journey where you are constantly growing and improving. It’s never a final destination. You are always trying to be better. You never perfect it.

22

B.I.G. Begin in Gratitude. If you start everything with gratitude it opens your mindset and approach. It allows you to appreciate each experience you have. I do not “have” to go to work. I “get” to go to work. I do not “have” to do work around my house, I “get” to do work around my house. I do not “have” to take my children to school or practice. I “get” to take my children to school or practice. It takes some practice but if you can see the world from a gratitude perspective you can find inspiration. It can create a sense of appreciation that adds great value to your life experiences. Years of experience: I have had a job since I was 9 years old. But my professional career started 32 years ago. Profession: I have the greatest job in the world. I am the Group President of Apple Leisure Group Vacations. Place of birth: Bronx, New York. Favorite sport: Football and golf. Favorite food: Italian, but love experiencing food and cultures from around the world. Pastime: Spending time with family, traveling together, attending sporting events and playing golf. What you like the most about yourself: I care about people and seeing them happy. What you don’t like about yourself: My deep empathy for those in need can, at times, create a heavy burden of never feeling like I am doing enough. Favorite destination to go: An impossible question but Mexico, Hawaii and Italy are at the top of most any destination list. Favorite movie: I enjoy a great mob movie! Goodfellas and The Godfather top the list. Idol: I don’t necessarily have an idol. I am truly inspired by people who share their blessings with those in need. A little effort, in helping someone in need, goes a long way to change someone’s life. I am inspired by my brother Paul’s journey from childhood to become a successful husband, father, and businessperson. My wife Kaci’s example of energy, focus and attention to detail, particularly for her family, always makes me strive to be better.

Think, Act & Work Safe

“NEPcon” has become “Preferred by Nature” Back in 2011, we certified our first hotel with the Rainforest Alliance; a year later, there were 14 hotels certified, and the number of hotels kept increasing annually with the Rainforest Alliance seal until we had 33 certified properties by 2019. And we keep moving forward.

To be able to obtain the world-class seal, hotels must demonstrate that they have a well-implemented Sustainable Management System based on 204 indicators (32 of them are mandatory), which is where we find the three cornerstones of the Sustainable Management System: Business or Economic Management, Sociocultural Management and Environmental Management. It seems simple; however, it

requires a high level of commitment and passion to systematize the elements emerging from these three cornerstones and their consistent implementation in the hotel’s operation. It should be noted that this certification has a major focus on people, their safety, and wellbeing, which is why safety is a critical indicator of this system. 33

08

Think, Act & Work Safe

I would like to take an opportunity in this issue to update you on some important aspects of the seal.

NEPcon is now Preferred By Nature. The image change does not imply changes in the standard, the way it works, communication, and other important aspects, as it continues to be the same team of professionals and the same philosophy. Due to COVID-19, the audit modality has changed for 2021. Among these changes we can see that:

Document review is now virtual. It includes:

Now, here comes the homework… Is your hotel ready for this year’s audit? Ask in the Human Resources department and the Civil Safety and Health Committee of your hotel, what are the indicators that directly impact preventive measures? Approach your Quality Manager and ask how you can join and help.

1. Each hotel must upload its evidence to an online

folder provided by the audit team, following the established guidelines.

2. Each

hotel must prepare a PowerPoint presentation summarizing the most important aspects of its Sustainable Management System, following the Preferred by Nature™ guidelines.

3. The field inspection is carried out 3 or 4 weeks

later. Now, this process is shorter and by only one auditor, which means savings in the cost of the audit.

You can send your collaboration, idea, or suggestion to rcaraballo@amresorts.com, thank you!

Host City

Host City:

Costa Adeje The preferred destination of Europe

Costa Adeje, due to its privileged location on the southwest slope of the island of Tenerife in the Canary Islands, gets more than 3,000 hours of sunlight and has more than 300 days of sun each year. This location has an average temperature of 27º C during summer and 23º C during winter, due to the trade winds that keep these constant temperatures. The weather in Costa Adeje is mild, warm and moderate. Any time is perfect to pay a visit; you won’t suffer from extreme cold nor suffocating heat. Moreover, this region has the most sunshine hours of all Europe: the days here are long and full of light. During winter, the sun rises around 7:00 a.m. and goes down at 7:00 p.m.; during summer, it rises around 7:00 a.m. and it disappears around 9:00 p.m. In Costa Adeje there are 20 km of coastline and 17 different beaches or bathing areas to choose (all of them with different types of sand: black, white or pebble) ideal for sunbathing or practicing water sports. Many of our beaches have a blue flag, which means that such beaches comply with the community regulations regarding the purity of coastal waters and other exploitation services. In addition, most of our beaches have full access to people with disabilities. Caleta Adeje

In Adeje there is a great variety of trails and natural spaces to be enjoyed such as: the Teide National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site; and Barranco del Infierno, one of the most visited natural places on the island with a variety of wildlife endemic to the island of Tenerife, including unique species in the world that have found their last refuge in this place.

Costa Adeje Teresitas

Without any doubt, seeing Costa Adeje from above is one of the most unforgettable experiences. The volcanic landscapes and the beauty of the coastline offer a panoramic view full of contrasts that are more visible from the sky. In addition, the mild temperatures throughout the year and the presence of the trade winds provide a firm and constant propulsion that allows you to enjoy your flight to the fullest at any time of the year. Although, from September to May is the best time to fly from the Taucho area to Costa Adeje.

We will be waiting for you in this dream destination! 65

Wellness

Wellness Por David Pritchard Health & Performance Coach Apple Leisure Group

Why Wellness Matters? Maintaining an optimal level of wellness is crucial to live a higher quality life. Wellness matters. Wellness matters because everything we do and every emotion we feel relates to our well-being. In turn, our well-being directly affects our actions and emotions. It’s an ongoing circle. Therefore, it is important for everyone to achieve optimal wellness in order to subdue stress, reduce the risk of illness and ensure positive interactions. Enriching and sustaining Team Members’ health and wellness is an integral part of ALG’s core value, “We Care.” We care about our Team Members by providing the best opportunities to increase their wellbeing and thrive at work, at home, and in all aspects of their life. Let’s look at some of the parts that help you create a strong and lasting foundation of wellness throughout your life.

1. Occupational wellness is about enjoying your occupational endeavors and appreciating your contributions. This dimension of wellness encourages personal satisfaction and enrichment in one’s life through work. 2. Emotional wellness relates to understanding your feelings and coping effectively with stress. It is important to pay attention to self-care, relaxation, stress reduction and the development of inner resources so you can learn and grow from experiences. 3. Spiritual wellness allows you to develop a set of values

that help you seek meaning and purpose. Spirituality can be represented in many ways, for example, through relaxation or religion. But being spiritually well means knowing which resources to use to cope with issues that come up in everyday life.

4. Environmental wellness encourages you to respect the

delicate balance between the environment and yourself. Respect for other living things in our environment is just as necessary as respect for the physical environment itself.

5. Financial wellness involves the process of learning how

to successfully manage financial expenses. Money plays a critical role in our lives and not having enough of it impacts health as well as academic performance. Financial stress is repeatedly found to be a common source of stress, anxiety.

6. Physical wellness relates to maintaining a healthy body and seeking care when needed. Physical health is attained through exercise, eating well, getting enough sleep, and paying attention to the signs of illness and getting help when needed. 7. Social wellness helps you perform social roles effectively and comfortably and create a support network. This dimension of wellness allows you to develop encouraging relationships with peers but also intimate relationships with family and friends.

8. Intellectual wellness involves having an open mind when you encounter new ideas and continuing to expand your knowledge. It encourages active participation in scholastic, cultural and community activities. 9. Mental health and wellness. Positive mental health allows people to: Realize their full potential, Cope with the stresses of life, work productively and make meaningful contributions to their communities.
