APPROACH

Finding out the influence mechanisms between nature and workplace wellbeing to improve employees’ holistic wellbeing. Company Project Brief and Goals The world’s 3.2 billion workers are increasingly unwell. The chronic diseases and stress levels are skyrocketing, globally. (Global Wellness Institute, 2016) Unwellness at work is incredibly costly and companies are facing many challenges to keep the employees engaged. Preventative healthcare is increasingly becoming important and our project is aimed at creating an innovative solution in occupational wellbeing program. Our goal is to find the intersection of occupational wellbeing and the effect of nature in Lapland. Two entities are working together on this project as a joint venture: Lääkärikeskus Aava, and Lappish Ski Resort Pyhä. To find out the correlation

between well-being and natural environments of Lapland, our team from IDBM experimented with various methods to develop a service concept. We have conducted interviews with multiple potential end-users, field observations, research trips in Pyhä resort. As a final deliverable for our client, we created and facilitated a co-creation workshop so that Aava can implement with the pilot groups later 2018 based on our findings and customer journey maps. The goal of the project is to generate service concepts as well as intellectual materials that are relevant to developing holistic well-being programs in Pyhä ski resort.

We conducted interviews with multiple potential end-users. We carried out extensive interviews with stakeholders in both domestic market and international market before the research trip to Pyhä resort. During the process, we had 12 interviews with potential end-users and 11 HR managers and mid-level management- total 23. Based on this research and findings, we had several ideation and brainstorming sessions. As a final deliverable for our client, we created and facilitated a co-creation workshop so that Aava can 1. implement with the pilot groups later 2018 based on our findings and customer journey maps. The co-creation workshop gathered experts from diverse backgrounds – doctors, psychologists, ecotherapy experts, nutritionist, and representatives from Aava and Pyhä Ski Resort. We divided 12 participants into 4 teams. The purpose of the co-creation workshop was to generate three different type of customer journeys based on three personas so that the client can consider a wide array of options and decide on which would be the most ideal to implement in the future. 2.
