FROM THE EDITOR-IN-CHIEF
Being a leader was not an easy task. I thought I was tough enough to lead a publication, take note that this is not a confession. I just want to share my experienced from the two last semesters. At first, I cannot contain my happiness as I successfully got the opportunity to become an Editor-inChief, after 9 years in Campus Journalism. Yet struggle is real. This year (last two semesters) the publication did not get any support from the Parent and Teachers Association which is the only source of fund of the publication all throughout, from the past years. Then I have this insecurities, I was too shy to lead the higher year staff writers which is under the sovereignty of the publication. Actually, I only had conducted one editorial board meeting in my whole term which I knew wrong. I cannot control the power that was given to me by my mentor, kuya Jasper Dionisio and I’m sorry for that. I also want to express my gratitude to my ate Alyssa Soriano and ate Denise Unsay for guiding me on what to do and what is not. Without them the “PagalIEngan 2017” wouldn’t be a successful one. They cheered me up when I felt down and they were there, always, in times of need. I also want to express my gratitude to kuya Kim Rondina for his patience, for his amazing lay-out editing skills, without him surely the publication won’t be here on it’s place. To my Advisers, sir Ivy Mar Ramos and maam Marianne Calayag. To my editorial board, ate Rose Geronimo and ate Paulene Villanueva; and to my staff writers especially to Adrian Dizon who will take the responsibility as the next Editor-in-Chief for the Academic Year 2018-2019. Yes, you read it right. I am leaving the publication with a glad in my heart together with the lessons I had received. This is not a good bye yet this is a new beginning as I enter the Vice President for Student Development position in the organization of Industrial Engineering Department – ISIE-BulSU. I promise to continue my passion in writing as a contributor. Thank you for appreciating my term as your EIC, may the good Lord be with you all who read this letter and may you be a Successful Industrial Engineer soon. God bless us all.

CAMILLE A. NANIP, CHAMPION IN ERGONEERING 2017 DESIGN COMPETITION HELD IN DELA SALLE UNIVERSITY LAST NOVEMBER 2017
Proudly, one of our IE students, Camille Nanip (IE-4A), won first place in Ergoneering together with the delegates from different university. The event seemed to open opportunity for concepts to put into place as well as ideas to become useful invention. These are just some of the ideas that defines the diversity of engineering. With wonderful way to express the art of engineering skills, this kind of events really teaches aspiring industrial engineers to put what they learn into test and eventually into reality. The key to a positive experience for these students is truly putting curiosity and creativity into showcase.
HOW DOES ENGR. JAMES’ JOB AFFECTS HIS LIFESTYLE? He became more career oriented. He became more challenged to know the latest innovation. He became more pro-active; and He became more challenged in a fast phasing environment

ENGR. JAMES’ PIECES OF ADVICE FOR IE STUDENTS
•“Identify your capabilities”. •[Think of] “Which area of IE (subject/activities) or your strength, that do you think you want to pursue in your career?” •“It is important to choose your first job title because normally, your first job title will become your career trend. Not all the time, but I can say it in general that your first job title will be your future career path.” •“Gain experience in your current job.” •“Continue to learn and don’t forget your IE tools as your basic foundation.” •“Continue to generate new innovative ideas in your current company”. There you have it my fellow IEs! I hope it inspires all of you to hear another success story of an alumnus from our department. And I also hope that you have picked up some ideas and tips for the first steps in your career as an IE. Keep in mind that if they can do it, you also can. It is true that no matter where you go, or wherever in the world life takes you, you can excel, you can find success. You just have to grab the opportunities and climb up to the next level. Let challenges transform you. Jiā yóu!

JOLLIBEE VS. MCDONALDS
“Survey lang po… Saan mas masarap kumain: Jollibee o McDonald’s?
