WELCOME TO CASTELFALFI, a land where time stands still

I CASALI

THE FARMHOUSES COLLECTION

- a stunning collection of individual farmhouses for restoration set in private grounds on the estate of Castelfalfi, Tuscany. Tuscany, birthplace of the Renaissance and a land of outstanding natural beauty, art and architecture, culture and culinary tradition. At its heart, yet in easy reach of the delights of Florence, Pisa and Siena, stands Castelfalfi. A private estate of some 3000 acres/1100 hectares of rolling countryside, olive groves, vineyards, small farms and at its centre the Borgo, a stunning medieval hilltop village. Home to a vibrant international community, within its boundaries can be found boutique hotels and restaurants, as well as a spa and selection of sport, leisure and equestrian facilities. I Casali at Castelfalfi is a small collection of ancient farmhouses, each set in its own grounds and found across the estate. Every one is unique and ready for restoration by our teams to deliver a home designed, restored and finished to your specification. It is a place to call home for those who value privacy, who cherish time together and appreciate time well spent. What we call slow time. Welcome to Castelfalfi, welcome to a place where time stands still.

One with Nature

BORGO VILLAGE The beating heart of the Castelfalfi Estate.

Castelfalfi is an estate at one with nature. Straddling the border of Pisa and Florence it incorporates lakes, olive groves, vineyards, arable and recreational lands and our discreet collection of Casali. There are almost 60 acres/25 hectares of vineyards, 30 of which have been planted in the last decade with the estate proud to deliver outstanding wines from Chianti Riserva DOCG to a stunning Sangiovese IGT. Nearly 2,000 olive trees, including Frantioio and Pendolino varieties, have been added to the 8,000 plus trees that cover the hillsides whilst Castelfalfi’s Olive Mill is part of the rural fabric, processing estate oils and those of hundreds of local landowners. The reminder of the arable land is given over to grains, fodder and legumes and the occasional truffle hunt. Produce from across the estate is entirely organic and can be enjoyed by residents with wines and olive oil available from the estate’s winery. Today the Borgo is a beautiful village of winding streets, of unexpected vistas and hidden squares, of retailers and restaurants, boutiques, galleries, annual festivals and fiestas. A place to explore, a place to enjoy, a place to cherish. Standing proud in the landscape, the Borgo is the beating heart of the Castelfalfi estate.

You will make a pledge to our land and help to explain and preserve our history, supporting the dedicated efforts of those who strive every day to preserve this unique environment. You will become part of an authentic world, embracing the spirit of the countryside – the heart of Tuscany’s identity – and supporting the necessary practices for organic farming and producing our fine wines and food. You will rediscover the rhythms of nature, joining us to gain first-hand experience of how our products are grown, and you’ll have the chance to enjoy your very own splendid harvest. 23

"Integration with the local area, landscape restoration and environmental sustainability are the key values of our Estate, where we adopt exclusively organic farming methods, synonymous with top quality and the finest, most authentic Tuscan flavors." Be a Farmer in Castelfalfi is a project of the farm

Tenuta di Castelfalfi, prompted by our love for this land, by our desire to rediscover the knowhow closely bound to the earth and to make the most of our quality production. This is a project with an increasingly aware approach to farming, one that’s respectful of nature and tradition. Our aim is to share these values with people who share the same passion and strong desire to protect them, as well as enjoying the fruits they bear. On the 1100 hectares of Castelfalfi, vineyards, olive groves and cereal crops are spread out according to traditional farming practice, creating a lush, protected environment that enjoys excellent exposure of the land and a mild Mediterranean climate, as well as benefiting from the experience of our farmers. Integration with the local area, landscape restoration and environmental sustainability are the key values of our Estate, where we adopt exclusively organic farming methods, synonymous with top quality and the finest, most authentic Tuscan flavors.

24

Own a part of Tuscany’s history To own a Casale is to own a part of Tuscany’s history. To restore one is to add to the rich tapestry of the landscape and to contribute to the continuation of that culture. Marrying old and new there is an absolute focus on those elements that give that sense of identity, of time and of place. The mix of flagstone and wood floors and the use of terracotta, oak and travertine bring the landscape into the home achieving an understated and enduring beauty. Properties range in size, each boasting high ceilings, beautiful living spaces, stunning feature fireplaces and expansive doors open out onto private terraces, pools and gardens, dining terraces and, of course, the breathtaking views. Castelfalfi has a limited selection of fully restored, offered freehold and benefiting from full management services as required. Every restoration project is delivered by our expert teams and master craftsmen, ensuring a turnkey solution to realizing your Tuscan dream. At Castelfalfi every home is individual, all are without compare. For more information please visit: https://imawardsclub.com/castelfalfi.

of LIGHT Grimanesa Amoros is a New York-based American interdisciplinary artist with diverse interests in the fields of social history, scientific research, and critical theory. Through her art, she conveys a sense of ephemeral wonder, entrancing viewers from different backgrounds and communities. She inspires others to become agents of empowerment. Grimanesa Amorós in conversation with Ilona Lee. Ilona: What light means to you? Grimanesa: Light holds an ephemeral quality; it engages us emotionally and captures the imagination. As a medium it has a unique ability to bridge across cultures and diverse audiences; we all connect to light. Ilona: How did the journey for light sculpture installations begin? Grimanesa: A trip to see the northern lights initially inspired the incorporation of light into my artwork. However, light has always been present in my thought process. In my childhood, the Peruvian sunsets and sunrises were a source of never-ending fascination.

"Light holds an ephemeral quality; it engages us emotionally and captures the imagination. As a medium it has a unique ability to bridge across cultures and diverse audiences; we all connect to light."

Ilona: In what ways can visitors engage with the work? What do you hope they take away from these interactions? Grimanesa: Engagement comes in the form of personal connection, leading my viewers to live more creatively and purposely, whatever their occupation may be. Ilona: How do you choose the type of project to work on? Grimanesa: I am interested in projects that empower my personal growth and provide opportunity for cultural connection. Ilona: When and how did your work start getting recognition? Grimanesa: Being an artist is a life journey. For a time, creating work and sharing it was my only reward and recognition. However, if you love what you do, the rest follows. GOLDEN ARRAY, Mumbai India, Photo: Grimanesa Amorós Studio

28

"Art provides us with a means of accessing our emotional selves. It makes us more empathetic, giving us a space to nurture and prosper."

"Life motto LPP: Love, Passion, and Perseverance" Ilona: Having had work exhibited in different locations internationally including the UK, China, USA, India, Israel, and Tel Aviv, what is the purpose Grimanesa Amoros Studio wants to convey through your works? Grimanesa: My light sculptures convey connection and a unique experience with technology. They form relationships encompassing the community, architecture, and historical events—the past meeting the future. Ilona: What it means to live an Artful Life? Grimanesa: Stay curious and inspire others to think creatively, even if they may not be a “creative”. I am often invited as a keynote speaker at Universities, where I lecture about my work and life as an artist. I always mention my favorite acronym and life motto LPP: Love, Passion, and Perseverance.

Ilona; How can art help our mental health and well-being? Grimanesa: When creating monumental sculptures, I consider how our architectural surroundings affect our state of mind and well-being. Art provides us with a means of accessing our emotional selves. It makes us more empathetic, giving us a space to nurture and prosper. Ilona: What is Home for you? Grimanesa: I travel extensively, but I consider New York City to be my home-base. Ilona: What is the next project for GA Studio? Grimanesa: I have upcoming projects with the city of New York, San Diego, Miami, Nebraska, and I am working with other countries such as Mexico, Germany, and Turkey.

Artist Statement A symbol of enlightenment, transformation, and rebirth, the delicate lotus flower sprouts in muddy waters. This dichotomy creates a meditation on the dynamic powers of the natural world—harmony arising from contrast, a principal balance in which I anchor my work. PINK LOTUS frames the landmark facade of The Peninsula Hotel in New York, interacting with and activating the two Greek Goddess carvings, Ceres and Diana. This stark contrast between classical and modern engages the viewer in a dialogue with history and contemporary notions of femininity. Location: The Peninsula New York 700 5th Ave. New York City Media: LEDs, diffusion and reflective material, custom lighting sequence, electrical hardware. Dimensions: 31 ft Length x 41 ft Height x 17 ft Depth Year: 2015

Artists are mirrors to a complex universe; it is from this perspective that I communicate. The work is an ongoing investigation of the human condition, interpersonal relationships, and women’s role in society. ~ Grimanesa Amoros

The dazzling strength of the morning sun beaming off the Civita di Bagnoregio square echoes through time to the Etruscans, an ancient civilization who built the city. The remnants of their culture still linger, intermingling with the contemporary bustle of my new surroundings. Human history compacts on a cosmic timeline; the rising and setting of our star fluidly connects one moment in history to the next. CETHA, translating to "sun" in Etruscan, contemplates this celestial omnipresence in burning red, providing visitors with a symbolic link with which to engage the town's heritage.

CETHA has red lighting with pink hues in its sequence, which represents the sunrise that burns red in the morning and streams its light throughout the town.

ILE MAISON -PEOPLE-

Barry Habib - The Influential Leader Barry is an American entrepreneur and frequent media resource for his mortgage and housing expertise; Amazon #1 bestselling author for his book “Money in the Streets”; CEO of MBS Highway. In conversation with Ilona Lee on Real Estate, Success & Fulfillment.

Ilona: What is the heart of success? Barry: Setting achievement goals are an important part of being successful. Reaching high targets and then setting even higher levels will help you establish an important path towards success. Having monetary goals are also important. There is noting shameful about wanting and attaining monetary goals. But the heart of success is fulfillment. There are a lot of individuals who attain success and monetary goals, but are still not happy. Fulfillment comes from helping and doing good for others. Using your achievements and monetary resources to do good and help others will give you a sense of fulfillment, which will make you much happier.

47

Ilona: How does MBS Highway transform salespeople into advisors? Barry: MBS Highway provides the insights and education, along with illustrative and analytical tools to help our clients better advise their customers. A mortgage is often the largest financial transaction a family makes. But most mortgage professionals lack the training and tools to understand how to correctly use a mortgage to create wealth, manage all debts, assist in retirement and college planning, as well as cash flow. Additionally, evaluating the future value of the home to be purchased can help clients make much better decisions. Ilona: You are Amazon #1 bestselling author for your book “Money in the Streets”. What is your book about? Barry: Money In The Streets is about seeing the opportunities that exist all around us. Ever wonder how successful individuals find and seize opportunities? Money In The Streets can teach you how to better identify and take action. The book will also allow you to get through the difficult times we all experience. And perhaps most importantly, maximize the good fortunes we are blessed with..

Ilona: You are three-time Crystal Ball Award Winner for 2017, 2019 and 2020 by Zillow and Pulsenomics for the most accurate Real Estate forecasts out of 150 of the top economists in the US; 2019 Mortgage Professional of the Year by National Mortgage Professional Magazine; 2019 Finalist for the prestigious Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year; Named to the esteemed Mortgage Global 100 list for 2020, and 2021 by Mortgage Professional; 2021 St. Armond Ventures New York Businessman of the year. What’s something you’ve achieved that you’re most proud of and why?

Barry Habib is three-time Crystal Ball Award Winner for 2017, 2019 and 2020 by Zillow and Pulsenomics for the most accurate Real Estate forecasts out of 150 of the top economists in the US; 2019 Mortgage Professional of the Year by National Mortgage Professional Magazine; 2019 Finalist for the prestigious Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year; Named to the esteemed Mortgage Global 100 list for 2020, and 2021 by Mortgage Professional; 2021 St. Armand Ventures New York Businessman of the year.

Barry: Being loved and adored by my four children reminds me that I have done a good job, although far from perfect, as a parent. Having earned trust and respect from the business community is also something I am very proud of.

Ilona: What is your advice for leaders who struggle to thrive during covid?

Ilona: You are the lead Producer and Managing Partner for “Rock of Ages” – the 27th longest running show in Broadway history. Is Broadway your passion? It’s more of a hobby and outlet. It’s different, fun, and exciting. I get the most pleasure from it when I see the joy it brings attendees. Seeing the crowd on their feet dancing and clapping at the end of each show makes me very happy.

Everyone struggles. Everyone suffers. Be resilient. Have faith that things will get better - they will. If we look back, many tough times we suffered through had led us to a breakthrough, or an opportunity for something better that we would have never had if we didn’t suffer.

Barry: Honoring all the sacrifices that my parents made to give me opportunities. Setting an example for my children. Being the best version of myself that I can be.

Ilona: What is your recipe for living a longer, happier, and healthier life?

Ilona: What are your plans for the near future? What is your next innovation?

Ilona: What is your housing market prediction for 2022? Will it crash or boom?

I try to exercise regularly and laugh as much as I can. I never grew up and never will. Still being a kid inside being silly - keeps you young.

I am working on new products to keep adding value to our clients. There are also new shows I am producing in Las Vegas. But mostly, I am working on me…trying to always learn and give more value, and get better every day.

Ilona: What motivates you?

Barry: I see strong housing for most of 2022. The acceleration should cool, but still be robust.

ISi n

Lisa Canty

in conversation with Ilona Lee

Female Leadership in Technology. Lisa is a serial Entrepreneur for over 20 years, 2021 Leading Woman Entrepreneur, 2021 St. Armand Ventures NY Woman Entrepreneur of the Year, Co-inventor of a technology-agnostic patent to track workers performance, First Female under US Entrepreneur to be allowed to contract to Saudi Arabian National Air Service by order of Secretary of State Rice, Founded a successful Global Aviation Crew Leasing Company. Lisa is currently the cofounder of NEST Global Solutions, a technology company focused on using Decisioning AI and Blockchain technology for actionable real estate analytics/insights. Lisa founded Eves Appetite for Cure, a non-profit chartered to provide mental and physical care giving to stomach cancer fighters. Inventor of data analytics platform that provides an insight to match caregivers with cancer fighters and cancer fighters with each other. An intelligent platform that makes decisions based on knowing what the cancer fighter needs before they even ask.

52

"Be greater today than the day before. Rinse, Wash, Repeat. ILONA: How do NEST Solutions help companies transform?

ILONA: What’s something you’ve achieved that you’re most proud of and why?

LISA: Through its digital transformation platform and product suite, NEST delivers next-generation document digitization and data validation to increase an organization’s agility and scalability for business operations improvement to provide their client data insights and analytics. NEST brings Information as a service to all entities in the real estate operations and finance ecosystem by bridging the gap between modernization and next-generation technology. The platform ensures the integrity of inter-operable information technology serving origination, securitization, loan servicing, capital markets, property management, insurance and encompasses all related data for the borrower, property, capacity, and risk management.

LISA: This question can be answered both professionally and personally. If asked to put more weight on one versus the other I would say personally I am most proud of my children’s fascination at an early age to be entrepreneurs. I always shared the successes and the disappointments of being a woman who took an idea and created a business from it. I'm proud that they learned from their mother that the rewards from doing something you love outweigh the risks and that the feelings of regret from never trying in the first place are a “yucky” feeling in the pit of your stomach that never ever goes away. Professionally speaking this is also what I am most proud of, that whatever venture I entered whether there was a financial success with the accompanying stress or professional loss, I am most proud that I tried in the first place.

ILONA: Who are some of your top role models, why do they inspire you? LISA: My top role model is my mother who passed away in 2017 at a young age. As a woman who transformed back-office operations in the ’80s, she was the first person I wanted to be when I grew up. As a woman without a college degree, she climbed the Wall St. ladder of success, one idea at a time. She always spoke her mind when something was wrong and always fought for those she respected and loved. Though she is not here any longer, she inspires me every day to be greater today than the day before. Rinse, Wash, Repeat. My father tied for first, who every day worked hard to provide his only child with everything she could ask for and kept her grounded and out of trouble while doing it. For keeping me on the straight and narrow by tapping my phone at the age of 16 to keep me out of trouble when the other kids I was hanging out with were all on dangerous paths in life. And my professional role model, Sara Blakely, mompreneur who became the world’s youngest female self-made billionaire. She says:

” Don't be intimidated by what you don't know. That can be your greatest strength and ensure that you do things differently from everyone else” 53

"When faced with the unknown I grab control of what I do know and rely on instincts and cultivated relationships to bring me clarity." ILONA: How do you celebrate success? LISA: I celebrate success by enjoying the moment with those who helped make that success possible, recognizing those around me, and fussing on them to show appreciation. I feel great when I can share in the success with others including my husband who is my biggest supporter in life and work. I always try to instill in people around me that you should reward those around you because they are the ones who helped you become successful. My greatest celebrations have been with those I love and respect enjoying each other's company. The occasional toast yourself with a great bottle of wine and bubble bath also works. One night of celebration and then strive for more…if you end at success then you’ve created your own ceiling without knowing it.

"She spends time with her husband and her children and makes sure there is a work-life balance – if she doesn’t reach billionaire or millionaire status that’s ok. Her family and her friends will never feel second." Ilona: How do you de stress? Lisa: My husband balances me, a comforting hug on top of his custom-made coffee, my children hugs that settle my nerves because at that moment I know what's most important, and my pups that bring me, unconditional love, while cuddles on my lap. The best destresser is sitting in a room with all of them not having to talk but to feel the unconditional love my family brings me. Another destresser is being able to help someone, I find that helping others gives me an ability to destress because I forget about my issues by helping someone else. I volunteer at the foodbank, I mentor students at NJIT, I mentor young professionals looking to expand their careers, I give help to those I can. Bringing someone happiness even for a while can help destress you.

Ilona: Who is Lisa at home? Lisa: Lisa at home is someone who works well under pressure. She is a multi tasker, that complains she has too much to do before she leaves for work in two hours; completes her already long list and adds a lasagna with an apple cobbler to the list which she leaves on the stove for her family before leaving to work. She’s the bus driver for her children’s activities, with the Bluetooth Webex in the background with her series A investor on the call. She makes scrambled eggs in the morning, while on a zoom with her team, while she prioritizes her calendar for the day. She loves Christmas and everything that resembles the feeling of Christmas, the sounds of Christmas, the look of Christmas. She relaxes with mind-numbing hallmark Christmas movies that have a happy ending every time because it's 180 degrees different than real life and the escape soothes her soul. She spends time with her husband and her children and makes sure there is a work-life balance – if she doesn’t reach billionaire or millionaire status that’s ok. Her family and her friends will never feel second. Lisa with her husband and children

XAVIER VEILHAN

AUTOFOCUS PERROTIN, NEW YORK

November 3 December 23, 202 For Autofocus, Veilhan continues his experiments into movement and memory by conceiving a new sce-nario on Perrotin’s third floor, composed of a field of new figurative and architectural sculptures.

57

Entering the exhibition, we encounter a scene frozenin time. Large-scale mobiles hang from the gallery’sskylight, consuming the surrounding sculptures.Below, geometric shapes have attached onto blurred human forms and lifelike animals. We are greeted by the gaze of two oversized canines, sculpted in a soft birchwood. Interested in the ability of animals to define man, Veilhan’s dogs are voyeurs of the scene enfol-ding before them. Nearby, human silhouettes appear softened, hovering around the edges of our field of vision. The artist reduces body and form down to their most essential vocabularies, making them barely legible. Beneath, Veilhan has situated his sculptures onto the outline of a cube, leaving our vision unimpeded and unaltered. Inspired by Sol Lewitt’s “Open Cube” or Robert Morris’s mirror cubes, they evoke rigid minimalist sculptures of the 1970s and act as anchors for the eye. Above, Veil-han has devised a series of fragmented mobiles, suspended from the ceiling. The mobile, an emblem of mid-20th century modernism, is striped of its symbolic connotations of balance, rhythm, and time. Ins-tead, Veilhan’s mobile is frozen in place, with its orbs cascading onto the scene’s figures.By freezing time, Veilhan invites us to uncover the relationship between seemingly disparate subjects, leaving hints of a larger story. Inspired by the high ceilings of the space, Veilhan’s figures are sculpted in varying scales, from life-size to monumental, which frames the audience as a crucial point of reference.

In this way, the exhibition does not exist without a visitor, or as Veilhan says, “the work’s appearance is conditioned by the spectator’s gaze.” Continuing to uncover the layers of Veilhan’s installation, we pick up on the smallest hints of unreality, leaving us unsettled as we circumnavigate. For three decades, Veilhan has developed a multi-form approach to his artistic practice that blends various mediums and scales, playing with the viewer’s spatial and temporal perspective. Early in his career he wor-ked primarily in figurative sculpture, slowly developing his own formal vocabulary. Since, he has staged numerous significant interventions around the world, often reinterpreting classical sculptural and architec-tural elements. In his 2009 installation at Versailles, the artist staged large-scale sculptures of visionary architects within the palace and its gardens; followed by a two-year project, titled Architectones, where he thoughtfully intervened in and reactivated historic architectural sites wit-hin two continents and five cities; or his 2017 proposition for the French Pavilion at the Biennale di Venezia, titled Studio Venezia, where he created a functional recording studio. In Autofocus, the artist continues this tradition of site- specific intervention by inviting the viewer to acti-vate the space by moving through his field of sculptures. Often called an artist-engineer, Veilhan carefully choreographs the exhibition, forcing our gaze to shift between hard architectural lines and subtle curves. Offering only fragments of a moment in time, Veilhan allows our vision to become a purposeful actor. 58

Artful Living with

Morgan Sedgley -An Expert in 17th and 18th century European Furniture and Decorative Arts. In conversation with Ilona Lee.

"A home is a vessel of expression. It is a blank canvas for which you can experiment with your creativity. With a home you are free to flourish in a space that surrounds you with an indefinite sense of physical and subliminal safety. I am absolutely in love with the Mediterranean but if I had to choose one place, I would choose Rome.”

60

"An artful life to me does not necessarily mean amassing a prestigious art collection. If art can subconsciously enrich your life, you are living an artful life." Ilona: What is your favorite time period and who is your favorite artist ? Morgan: Undoubtedly the 17th and 18th century. My favorite artist is Francesco Guardi. Ilona: How can art help our well-being? Morgan: Art can help our well being by educating us. Art is very much a time machine. It can transport us to anywhere and any time in the world- from the Ancient Regime to the studio of Jackson Pollock. It can create a feeling of safety as it will never judge the eyes off the beholder. It is truly an emancipation of the human mind.

Ilona: What it means to you to live an artful life? Morgan: An artful life to me does not necessarily mean amassing a prestigious art collection. If art can subconsciously enrich your life, you are living an artful life. Ilona: What does home mean to you? If you could live anywhere, where would it be? Morgan: A home is a vessel of expression. It is a blank canvas for which you can experiment with your creativity. With a home you are free to flourish in a space that surrounds you with an indefinite sense of physical and subliminal safety. I am absolutely in love with the Mediterranean but if I had to choose one place, I would choose Rome.

Ilona: Where do you see art education in the future ?

Ilona: What can we do as a community to help you achieve success?

Morgan: I see art education as being more interactive. The Van Gogh immersive exhibition is a great example. Advances in Technology are growing at such a rapid rate that standard text books will no longer be effective.

Morgan: Learn about and engage with new ways of viewing and acquiring art and antiques. Connect with me on social media ? IGmorgan_sedgley. Expand my circle on a global level.

SPOLIĀ

BY VALERIE NAME FASHION SHOW at SALON ART + DESIGN Saturday, November 13, 3PM Spoliā, a fashion line founded in New York City by Valerie Name Bolaño in 2021, is an attempt to eternalize the ephemeral; a homage to ancient traditions informed by the reuse of fine materials. Having spent a good part of the last decade designing some of the most storied residences in New York City,

Valerie saw large amounts of fine fabrics go to waste after custom furniture productions, discontinued textiles, and began thinking of ways to re-purpose them gracefully. Spoliā was born to complement the traditional furniture-making process by turning excess fabrics into timeless outerwear. With a single line of outerwear, Spoliā turns to the realm of building arts and material narratives for inspiration. Furniture and sculptural gestures and durable joints are all central to the collection and overall design direction. The brand will make its debut at Salon Art + Design with the first ever fashion show at the fair, debuting their most recent collection in the Board of Officers room.

John Greytak's intersection between design by nature and design by humans

Studio Greytak is bringing the wonder of the Montana landscape to Salon Art + Design. The Montana-based studio, which centers gems and minerals in all its designs, will transform the Park Avenue Armory’s Colonel’s Room into an immersive experience. Large LED screens mimic floor-to-ceiling windows that give the illusion of lounging high on a secluded mountain or enjoying cocktails while sitting atop a pristine trout-filled river. Guests may also explore the Earth’s tiniest landscapes with stunning views inside the heart of glittery opal or the endless dunes of a cloudy agate. It’s an homage to the glorious Montana landscapes that inspire all of Studio Greytak’s pieces.

67

Within this magical environment, Studio Greytak presents its Universe collection. This series explores the mysteries of our world through gems and minerals and their roles in Earth, Sky, Sea, and Space. Using these jewels of the Earth as a starting point, Studio Greytak mimics the tools of nature to create pieces that defy scale.

Natural Way to Wellness Humans, our planet, and our environment are in a process of constant evolution. The collective consciousness of all that is us, all that sustains us and all that surrounds us continuously expands. We are becoming more aware of how important it is to take care of ourselves, our environment and our planet and how interrelated they all are. We are realizing deeper that our own internal well-being is mirrored in our external environment through our bodies, the places we inhabit, and even the air we choose to breathe. Wellness eventually becomes a self-directed, conscious and expanding journey leading us towards our highest potential on all levels. Before we go further, let us pause and define wellness. Well, wellness is an interconnected, multidimensional, holistic process, which encompasses mental, physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. One cannot function well without the other and functioning well in one area will ultimately influence the other areas. Wellness is our highest possession, our given right, our greatest luxury and if all is healed within, our intrinsic, stable state. We can encounter and cultivate all aspects of well-being through mother nature. 70

She shows us how beautiful life can evolve, transform, surrender and rejuvenate. Her inherent wisdom, beauty and perfection organically creates a divine symbiosis for all living organisms. Untouched, she thrives. As we breathe her, see her, taste her, listen to her, as we experience her with all our senses, we begin to activate her inherent inner wisdom within us. We discover our true nature, we connect with our own inner God particle, which in turn initiates the process of ultimate healing. Let us take going for a hike for example. Japanese have a practice called forest bathing. When we allow ourselves to imagine that the pure air quality, the amazing healing components emitted by the trees wash away our worry and sadness, we can walk out of the forest transformed. The breathing in of oxygen alone shifts us instantaneously towards well-being.

Even when one is not quite aware or intentional about nature’s healing properties, one will encounter a moment, where seeing a beautiful sunset, a sunrise, a butterfly, a color changing leaf, or a pristinely white blanket of snow will take one’s breath away. Then, even this momentary experience of awe can awaken hope and shift our way of perceiving life to that filled with gratitude. Gratitude for all we have in every moment, for the gift of life, for being able to witness the miracle of nature, and be a part it. Gratitude for the air we breathe, for the fact that we are breathing…for our ability to create the life our soul desires, the life we were all meant to live. John Muir once stated,

“and into the forest I go to lose my mind and find my soul.” So, it truly is that. Nature improves one’s mood, physical health, it reduces feeling of stress, it helps one release anxiety, heal depression faster and gives one a boost of energy. There are of course many variables to healing but spending more time in nature will inevitably transform us all by reconnecting us with our truth within. We will find ourselves more peaceful, more grateful, happier, and with utmost reverence for all that was created with such Divine perfection. We will find ourselves realizing that we are not just part of nature, but we are also nature.

Spending more time with nature and being kind to her helps us and we receive so much more in return. When we do this often enough, we will receive a feeling of multidimensional wellness that nothing and no one can ever take away. We will acquire a permanent state of joy, love, peace and light. Wishing all the readers and all humanity that and so much more. May we all connect to truth, love and light. May we all become it. May we thrive. May all beings have peace, may all beings thrive, may we all love ourselves, each other and all that surrounds us fully and completely. May everything, we are, do, say, eat, hear, and do be an extension of this purity and beauty. Wishing you perfect mental health, physical and spiritual well-being now and always. WHITE DESERT

ANTARCTICA

72

WHITE DESERT White Desert was established by record-breaking polar explorer duo Patrick and Robyn Woodhead in 2005, and born out of a desire to allow people other than scientists and polar explorers to see the wonders of the interior of Antarctica. Founded with environmentally conscious principles at its core, White Desert was the first operator to build a luxury camp and to pioneer the use of private jet travel in Antarctica. Carbon neutral since 2007, the company has diversified over the last two years and now also uses its planes to transport scientists to their Antarctic research stations. White Desert believes that by showing people this incredible place, a community of “Antarctic Ambassadors” will share the importance of conserving Antarctica for future generations. In addition to supporting scientists performing ground-breaking research on the Antarctic ice shelf, White Desert’s operations leave no waste on the Continent and their camps are built to be dismantled, leaving no trace on the last true wilderness on Earth."

73

Wolf's Fang Antarctic Camp “Wolf’s Fang” A Breathtaking New Antarctic Camp Situated amongst pillars of rock rising 1,000m vertically from the icecap, the camp derives its name from an iconic mountain peak that dominates the skyline.

74

75

BACK TO THE GOLDEN AGE OF POLAR EXPLORATION White Desert’s latest camp still retains their customary fusion of luxury with a light environmental touch, comprising six state-ofthe-art sleeping tents that are individually heated and designed for two guests each. The interiors hark back to the golden age of polar exploration, with leather and canvas while the spacious lounge tent is the perfect place to relax and enjoy delicious meals around a vintage prospector oven. 76

When it’s time to relax, an ice bar serves cocktails made from 10,000-year-old glacial ice, helping guests unwind from a day of exciting activities.

85

“Ever since I first visited these mountains, I’ve dreamt of setting up a camp that would allow clients a chance to reconnect with nature, but also be adventurous,” says White Desert’s Founder, Patrick Woodhead. With 3 World Records and having skied over 4,000 km across Antarctica himself, Woodhead is well accustomed to adventure. “Wolf’s Fang camp allows guests to experience something totally unique and that’s not something easily found these days.”

OASIS of Luxury in an Inhospitable Landscape White Desert’s first ecocamp, Whichaway Oasis, represents an ‘oasis’ of luxury in an inhospitable landscape, is designed to be less strenuous. Guests can enjoy the newly installed sauna and wellness pod and even picnic out by the side of a stunning freshwater lake. Hemp Hub in Warwick, NY urbanXtracts Nestled just over an hour North of Manhattan lies the historic black dirt farming region of Orange County and the picturesque town of Warwick, New York. The quaint 101-square-mile village is known for farming, small business and up until a decade ago was home to the Mid-Orange Correctional Facility. Now, the site of a former prison is being transformed into a bustling regional hub for growing and processing cannabis.

88

From Prison to Hemp Hub urbanXtracts, a New York licensed hemp supplier, has opened an 18,000 square foot facility on the site of a former dairy barn adjacent to the shuttered grounds of the former prison site. “We’re looking to write a new story and contribute to the infrastructure of this burgeoning industry”, said CEO Eran Sherin. The history of the site dates back eight decades. Originally a vocational training school and reformatory for boys in the 1930s, the facility was converted into an all-male medium security prison in 1976 and finally closed in 2011. Now, with the help of the local municipality, urbanXtracts is revitalizing the property with a stateof-the-art facility used to manufacture hemp-derived products.

89

Growing and processing cannabis With a seed-to-market infrastructure, the company has spent the last three years building a vertically integrated supply chain that offers proprietary genetics supplied to local farmers as well as manufacturing partnerships with developers and brands.

"If you're a brand looking to enter the space or infuse CBD into your product, we're the perfect partner”, said Sherin. In addition to offering product development and white-label services, urbanXtracts has their own wholesale product line. Offering a variety of tinctures and topicals, each of their products are third-party lab tested and contain CBD oil sourced from farming partnerships in the black dirt region. In addition, every product features a unique QR code that consumers can scan to inform them where the hemp used in their product was grown, cultivated and extracted.

90

urbanXtracts

urbanXtracts tinctures are potent, containing 1800MG of full spectrum hemp. Available in three distinct flavors (unflavored, blackberry and key lime), the company recommends they be taken sublingually throughout the day as needed to ease stress and provide balance. Their topical balms and muscle rubs are ideal for targeting specific areas.

"If you've had a long day and need some pampering, I highly recommend our Muscle Stick. It's great to use after the gym as well to ease soreness and provide relief", said urbanXtracts marketing specialist Gianna Alessi. The hemp-supplier has also recently launched a lavender body oil packed with 2000mg of New York grown CBD. Expertly blended with argan oil, mct oil, full spectrum hemp extract and lavender, this new product is sure to add a boost of serenity and luxury to your day. www.urbanxtracts.com

ISLE DE NATURE

Luxury Bee-powered Home Fragrance Helps Build more Hives

No two pieces are alike. Each vessel is handmade in the USA of beautiful translucent clay. When lit, the candle gently illuminates from within to reveal the delicate honeycomb pattern within, a masterfully crafted homage to honeybees created by world-renowned designer Joe Doucet. Our candles are made to be as sustainable and non-toxic as possible. They are a blend of beeswax and soy, made to burn cleaner and smell amazing -- a scent that will transport you back to nature island.

Isle de Nature signature product is a beeswax blend candle with a scent inspired by the Caribbean island of Dominica. I sle de Nature was born out of the recognition that today, unspoiled nature is a luxury. Tropical climate change catastrophes have ravaged our most fragile islands of nature, putting them at risk. And the bee population which we all depend on for survival has been decimated. We believe there’s a better way. That nature and luxury can live harmoniously. That scent shouldn’t be toxic. That when humans take from nature, they should replenish. And that we can not only support the bees, but rebuild. Every purchase from Isle de Nature helps build more hives in Dominica, where we get our beeswax. Dominica was devastated by Hurricane Maria in 2017 and lost half of the hives on the island.

HEALING ONE LIFE AT A TIME Île Maison honored Jani Viswanath with ÎM LIGHT Award Too often we get lost in the nothingness of grandiosity, the vacuum of self-importance, the insatiable hunger of greed & vanity – Ironically forgetting that our self-obsession is the very thing that has isolated us from the attention and approval we crave from those around us. Our empathy & sensitivity is the only hope – and it is in much greater demand now and far more limited in supply than ever before and we need every bit of it from wherever we can get it. And yes, too often we underestimate the power of hope. Even the tiniest one can turn a life around.

What we see today are the gaping wounds of despair and desolation, no matter which part of the world, the widening gap between those who have and those who have never had, a complete generation of children & young adults deprived of the basics of food, shelter and education. These will come back to hit us hard unless we choose to do something about it. Help us to heal – one life at a time. To summarize, it is never going to be enough to do what we do and hope to airbrush away the sufferings and plight of the marginalized societies no matter which part of the world they are. But, We can say with certainty that the acts of those kind and humane people who reach out to help will give some relief to those with nowhere to turn to and in turn bring the much needed hope. ~Jani Viswanath~ 95

EDUCATION

"We step in and give the opportunity to finish the education as we firmly believe that it would be a pity and indeed a disservice to the youth to let such bright minds back on the streets with no hope and no one to turn to. It is important to mention here that it is not only financial assistance we provide but a social, emotional support. These young adults become a part of our family and as such receive our guidance and direction."
