SPEAKS Message from Editor-in-Chief Abhignya Srishaila With the fickle nature of the current situation of the covid-19 pandemic, it is likely to make us question ourselves ‘to be, or not be’. It is a perfect example of something we as design thinkers call, a wicked problem- one problem aimed to solve, 5 more arise! It means that there are a lot of factors involved in the context that we cannot control. However, there are people doing their job to keep us safe, and we must do our job to live through this phase with utmost caution. But does that mean we leave everything at a stand still? No, we are going to adapt and move forward to offer what we are supposed, the best way possible. That said, the September issue of the newsletter brings you the Academic year 2020 at ImaginXP and the partnered universities. As an organisation, we always aim to grow, expand our horizons to reach new possibilities and milestones. The current issue throws light on new courses offered as degree and certificate programs, along with new additions to the team who are talented and smart professionals to help us carry out our vision. We are also proud to introduce the very first issue of our bi-annual Journal consisting of the works and articles written by our own students, mentors and professionals. We welcome our new recruits and hope to share a memorable journey of learning, teaching, encouraging and exploring talents as one family.

Message from Chief Strategy Officer Col. Prashant Mahajan We live in an era of unprecedented challenges and opportunities where the nations and citizens across the globe are battling a medical crisis leading to an economic crisis. The challenges of the education sector are varied from conducting final exams to screening candidates for new programs to effectively manage the learning of the returning students to migrate to the digital platforms. Team ImaginXP has ensured that from day one of the lockdown, the learning of our student did not get interrupted. Along with our partnering Universities, we remain steadfast in honouring our commitment to ensure quality learning for our students. The new semester, like a new season, brings a fresh hope to strive for excellence and new opportunities amidst the pandemics. The designers are helping different organisations in their journeys to digital transformation in these difficult times to ensure a happy and satisfied customer. We urge all our students to make use of this opportunity to not only develop the hard skills required by any professional but also the soft skills necessary for collaborating remotely with team members in diversified geography. Let us resolve to work harder and push ourselves for a better future. Let us live up to the adage: “When the going gets tough, the tough get going. Let us make ourselves, our families, our faculties, our institutions and nation proud of what we design for a better future.

Testimonials Arnab Dey, Student (B.Des) I'm doing my Bachelor's in UX design from Chitkara University in collaboration with ImaginXP. I pursued UX because I was unhappy with the current entrepreneurship culture, and I wanted to solve legit problems. I figured out, in the process of learning UX I would have a better understanding of the users, the market and ways to solve problems and add value to people's life. The faculties of both Chitkara University and IMAGINXP have helped me understand the design process and some important design tools. My mentors constantly encourage me to take challenges, complete tasks in time and also to educate myself and become a better designer.
Ashvesh Nayak, UX Design Faculty Working on more than 75 Projects with almost 150 students with a team of Versatile Design Professionals to assist me anytime of the day is the only statement that could explain my 9 month journey with ImaginXP as a UX Design Faculty. Its a great feeling just to start a day knowing I will be interacting about design and design solutions with lots of curious minds who got a unique way to look at this world and I am the one who will be assisting them to learn something new everyday. Almost year ago I was the person sitting across the desk gazing at those white boards with lot of questions in mind; but today when I stand in front of the class bringing on table my personal and Industrial Experience of design world. Due to Global situations we all had to make changes in our lifestyle & one of those were the way we teach, evaluate and roll on the academic curriculum at Universities. Inspite all the odds ImaginXP used this opportunity to keep students engaged and motivated by introducing students to subject matter experts in the form of Webinars, Design Sprints & Live industrial projects. It wasn't an easy journey but definitely worth it with each and every member of ImaginXP Family.

Projects UX Faculty | ImaginXP “Paytm for Smartwatch” by Anshuman Dixit Not so long ago, Paytm- India’s leading financial seFvvrvices and ecommerce Company expressed their drive to move towards creating a platform for smart watch interfaces as well. Taking this as an inspiration, the project of designing a responsive interface for paytm in smart watches, was undertaken with a careful and distinguished plan of research and execution. The project aimed at identifying challenges of the users in making small payments in case of the absence of a phone or a wallet, especially during times of outdoor fitness-related activities. The result of the project led to the creation of the paytm app operable on the smartwatch to not pay or accept payments, but also add money to the e-wallet when necessary.

Shoutout
To Aditya Gupta The lockdown has always opened doors to further productive opportunities and has increased the accessibility of learning our interests, those for which we did not have time earlier… However, there are a few we have encountered who have taken ‘No rest for the living…’ to a great extent. One such student is Aditya Gupta. Aditya Gupta is a student at ImaginXP, pursuing B.Des at Jagannath University Jaipur. Over the span of these 4 months of the lockdown period, he has participated and received over 10 certificates for webinars, internship, online courses, e-quizzes and many more, and continues to learn more in the upcoming days as well. We, at ImaginXP are very proud to have such an enthusiastic learner among us, and can be an inspiration to us all.
