Can Do

Water Water

We can deliver high quality drinking water through our expertise in design and construction and employing our philosophy “Design to Commission and not commission the design”.

Case Study - AMP4 Special Projects Morcott WTW Client Value

Anglian Water £57,000,000

The Morcott project includes a new water treatment works, adjacent to the existing Wing WTW, together with a new stand-alone pumping station at Empingham and uprating pumping facilities at Wing and Beanfield. The new works provides an additional 90Ml/d output at peak flow. The design is based on the use of primary ozonation, coagulant addition, flash mixing, high efficiency dissolved air floatation (DAF), rapid gravity filtration, secondary ozonation, GAC, chlorination, dechlorination, treated water storage and balancing.

Case Study - AMP4/5 Capital Maintenance Framework Client Value

South Staffs Water £20,000,000

Imtech Process is framework contractor for South Staffs Water for the delivery of its AMP 4/5 capital maintenance programme of non infrastructure works on clean water assets. Project requirements vary from £5K valve refurbishment to £1000k+ pumping station and chemical dosing plant refurbishment projects.

Wastewat Wastewater

We will enable new regulatory and legislative requirements to be met through our proven capability in refurbishment /upgrading existing assets or the Design and Build of new treatment works.

Case Study - AMP3/4/5 Capital Alliance Framework Client Value

Dwr Cymru Welsh Water £200,000,000

Alliance partner for Welsh Water operating across all Wales with a programme of work for the delivery of all quality and capital maintenance work on all wastewater treatment works and pumping stations. The project requirements vary from £10K capital maintenance schemes to £10M major new treatment works.

Case Study - Tideway Improvement Projects Beckton and Crossness WwTW’s Client Value

Thames Water £280,000,000

Thames Water appointed Tamesis – a joint venture between Laing O’Rourke and Imtech - as the contractor for its projects to upgrade Beckton WwTW and Crossness WwTW in east London. The improvements will enable the sites to treat around 50% more sewage than it does now, significantly reducing the amount of storm sewage that overflows into the River Thames during heavy rainfall.

terRenewab Renewable Energy

Sustainable energy generation for the future – from Anaerobic Digestion, Biomass and waste-to-energy through to wind, hydro and advanced thermal.

Imtech Process has an unrivalled track record in developing award winning environmentally sustainable solutions and power self sufficient wastewater service. We are the leading delivery partner for Advanced Anaerobic Digestion in the UK and have a proven track record with many of the leading water companies.

Linked to the recognition that the world population is growing, resources and fossil fuels are depleting, is the necessity to explore new and innovative ways of delivering sustainable power generation. There are a number of alternative fuel sources being utilised including food waste, MSW and various biomass, as well as new technologies – enhanced Anaerobic digestion, thermal gasification and pyrolysis. Imtech is fully aware that linked to this renewable energy requirement is the drive to ensure natural resources are safeguarded and full resource recovery within any waste stream is ensured.

Sludge/Bio Sludge/Biosolids

We deliver a strategic approach to provide innovative and sustainable treatment for biosolids in accordance with ever challenging requirements. Imtech has designed and installed over £230m of projects treating in excess of 300,000TDS and delivering 50MW of green energy.

Case Study - AMP4 Special Projects Kings Lynn / Great Billing STC’s Client Value

Anglian Water £52,500,000

The projects included turnkey design, construction, commissioning and optimization(SOOP) of a complete advanced digestion plant including enhanced enzymic hydrolysis, anaerobic digestion, and CHP. The biosolids programme consisted of treating 99,000 tonnes across four sites with improved performance helping to realise Opex savings of over £6 million per year.

Case Study - AMP5 Sludge Strategy Cardiff / Afan STC’s Client Value

Dwr Cymru Welsh Water £41,000,000

The projects included turnkey design, construction, commissioning and optimization(SOOP) of a complete advanced digestion plant including enhanced thermal hydrolysis, anaerobic digestion, and CHP. The sludge strategy consisted of treating 80,000 tonnes across four sites with improved performance helping to reduce carbon footprint by 35,000tonnes CO2 per year and generate 40MWh/day.

oBiomass Energy from Waste/Biomass

We will assist clients maximize sustainable energy opportunities from biomass and waste fuel sources. Delivering Imtech innovation from global competence centre’s to ensure market leading solutions.

Case Study - Poplars Food waste AD Plant Client Value

Biffa £22,400,000

The project included turnkey design, construction and commissioning of the AD plant. The Biffa Poplars AD facility will treat an estimated two million tonnes of source segregated food waste over its lifetime that would otherwise be disposed of via landfill. The received waste is generated from supermarket, restaurant and kitchen waste, oils from fast food outlets and other biodegradable product sources. The facility will export approximately 6MW of electricity to the National Grid as renewable energy – enough power for around 5000 homes.

Case Study - Biomass Energy Plant Client Value

Blue Chip Industrial Client £17,000,000

The project included project development, design, construction and commissioning of a Woodchip Biomass CHP plant including furnace, boiler and turbine. The plant when constructed will generate 6.5MW of electricity and heat an existing section of the Distribution Centre.

“I have been very impressed with the performance of the team working on both the Cardiff and Afan Advanced Digestion projects. The integrated delivery team gained early planning approval and has relentlessly focussed on safe delivery, ahead of programme and within budget. The focus on right first time has led to very successful commissioning and process start-up, allowing ROCs accreditation and early operational savings from renewable power generation and shut down of the energy intensive thermal drying plant.” Mal Price Head of Capital Delivery Dwr Cymru Welsh Water

“Imtech Process has been an integral part of the joint venture, GTM, which delivered the Morcott WTW scheme in 2010. This was the largest clean water project in AMP 4 and was successfully delivered through close co-operation with the local operations team. The success of the scheme and the way the team worked together to achieve it has been recognised across the industry and this project won the Water Industry Achievement Award for Outstanding Innovation, sponsored by OFWAT.” Chris Newsome Asset Director Anglian Water
