Albion Riverside, Battersea Residential Sector Case Study

Albion Riverside is an exclusive riverside mixed use residential led development by Hong Kong based Hutchinson Whampoa it's design, by Fosters & Partners is highly distinctive, featuring glass facades with double curvature and extensive areas of fair faced concrete. Imtech were commissioned to install the mechanical, electrical, Public Health and BMS services to this high profile building. In addition to the residential element, which comprises 190 fully furnished apartments, the development includes a five storey office block, restaurants, retail and leisure facilities. To meet the exacting quality standards required within the constraints of budget and programme, Imtech adopted their trademark approach of working in a collaborative manner with the client and his professional team to develop innovative engineering solutions. The disciplined co-ordination and interface management strategy imposedby Imtechcombined with the Imtech team commitment ensured the client objectives were achieved.

They have dealt with significant co-ordination issues and have carried out their works on time, within budget and to a very high quality. They have instituted significant innovation on installation methods, particularly on fan coil circuits and other pipe installations. One Hyde Park Residential Sector Case Study

The project consisted of the full MEP fit-out of 22 high specification luxury apartments which included: •

Air-conditioning via Fan Coil units, trench heating, Underfloor heating and chilled ceilings

Public Health installation to 93 bathrooms and WC’s

Primary/Secondary ventilation and Kitchen extract.

Electrical installation including high spec Lights, Lighting control, Video entry, AV/IT, Fire Alarms

Fully Integrated Building Management System.

The key factor in the project was the expectation of a very high quality installation which was monitored by special teams on a continual basis with the focus on 100% inspection and sign off prior to any closure of walls and ceilings. There was a Zero tolerance policy on snags and defects with a philosophy of “Right First Time” throughout the complete sub-contractor supply chain.

The project was completed on time and within budget and it is a project that certainly raised the bar on construction delivery in the London region and Imtech are very please to be a part of this legacy.

The project, located in the heart of Knightsbridge in central London, is one of the most stunning developments to have taken place in the capital, and comprises 86 apartments on a site of less than one hectare. They are considered to be some of the most desirable residences in the world. It consists of four pavilions, separated by three access cores. The main living areas are configured at the ends of the blocks, many affording stunning views across the London skyline. Once completed, more than 40 dedicated staff trained by Mandarin Oriental will be employed to manage services for the development.

Kenwood Place Residential Sector Case Study

Imtech were awarded this contract by Kier Southern for installation of mechanical and electrical services to three low rise apartment blocks and penthouse suite.

The buildings were part of a multi-building development on the upper slopes of Hampstead Heath. Three new pavillions were been built in the grounds of Athlone House, formerly used as a hospital. Ranging from three to four storeys in height, each houses a number of luxury flats, with car parking and leisure facilities at basement level across the entire site.

The design of the pavillion facades addresses security as well as aesthetics.

• Sustainable engineering solutions - for example the Innovate Building in Leeds, which was awarded the highest BREEAM rating of any building in the UK at the time. • Exploitation of energy generation from renewable energy sources and bio energy • Decreased emissions of greenhouse gases and fine particles • Realisation of clean water solutions and preventing water pollution

There is commitment at Board level to focus on how Imtech’s primary business activities can contribute towards sustainable development, and to conduct ourselves in ways that make an important contribution towards a sustainable and liveable society.

This commitment has resulted in a number of successful recent inititives, including:

• The development of company-wide Business Principles and HR principles • ISO 14001 certification in many parts of the business • First official Imtech participation in the Carbon Disclosure Project • QHSE: Quality, Health, Safety en Environment à Safetecq® campaign • A Corporate Citizenship programme: “Shared Success in Developing Countries” • A process establishing a benchmark measure for CO² and equivalent emissions in Imtech Technical Services offices, and a programme of activities to reduce these emissions.
