Like many first-generation college students, Marisol faced a plethora of obstacles in attaining a postsecondary education. Despite this, she persisted, is in her third year to complete a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, and a minor in Spanish at Marian University. Her passion for graphic design and her flexibility to learn new skills has led her to freelance some of her work. To give back to her community, she has served as a mentor for young Latino high-schoolers at different IPS schools. The Pathways to Career program has helped her build networks, hone her strengths, and increase her communication skills to help guide her in her career path.
