Exploring the life of the mountainous provinces of Northern Vietnam, artist Doan Xuan Tang lately contemplates the deep forest’s lullaby. He seeks and shows extremely human phases of spectacular nature, ranging from a briefly gorgeous moment of sunset to a gloomy night with only a few light sources. Amid that silence, humans appear with their blue sky and are placed in a context opposing streams of impact: development - destruction, brilliance - darkness. All movements of the multitude dwelled inside emotions are revealed surrounded by the black forest.
In this series, artist Doan Xuan Tang still collects images that hold numerous stories and characteristics of the Northern land and then depicts them in a semi-abstract and expressionist approach where the tight, twisted shapes produce a condition of equilibrium with the negative spaces. Trees and humans have no clearly defined form limits and resonate with the harmonizing mix of light and dark areas.
