Signature Profile Free Frequencies for Defense of Your Immune System Sharry Edward & Jill Mattson have collaborated to create over 70 minutes of free music on 18 mp3s at no cost! Receive this at CoronaVirusDefense. org and JillsWingsOfLight.com. Our immune system is our best defense against illness. Edwards, who founded the science of BioAcoustics, has determined that with the onslaught of the current pandemic, the body is in dire need of specific nutrients to help counter the Coronavirus. Two critical ones are glutathione and quercetin. A healthy immune system always needs these nutrients - and in the case of the Coronavirus, they are extraordinarily essential. Mattson’s compositions contain Edwards’ Frequency EquivalentsTM of glutathione and quercetin. There are seven other Frequency Equivalents of substances that boost the effectiveness of the immune system. (Vitamin C, adrenaline, epinephrine, ACTH, and others.) You ingest sound and your body uses this energy. We currently cannot prevent infection by the Coronavirus, but we can help significantly reduce the severity of the disease by building up our immune systems. Finally, embedded in Mattson’s music frequencies for emotional clearing and healing. There are frequencies for a dozen flower essences and twelve crystals! The music is profoundly calming and provides a peaceful feeling amidst the tension surrounded by the coronavirus epidemic. When your body is at peace and relaxed, it devotes more energy to the building and repair of your body. The frequencies and information here have not been confirmed to do anything. No claims can be made as to the efficacy of the sounds embedded in the music. When listening, you acknowledge that neither Jill Mattson nor Sharry Edwards are medical professionals and do not claim to be. Sharry Edwards is collecting data; if you get well or if you remain healthy, that is your issue. Sage will share her travels with helpful tips, interesting facts about her fun filled and relaxing get-aways! Trip of a Lifetime – Alaskan Cruise While I have taken many fun cruises in the past, they have all been to a tropical location. I never once thought about an Alaskan Cruise. But when the opportunity presented itself, we definitely said yes!
4
That afternoon, Ray and I were hanging out at our favorite Texas Hill Country winery, William Chris Vineyards, listening to live music and, of course, drinking wine. Members of the band gave us a flyer and said they were part of a Texas music cruise sailing to Alaska in September. It didn’t take us very long to make the decision to go! This cruise would prove to be a fun-filled week of spectacular scenery, intimate, live music, and bucket-list memories. Our trip was on the Star Princess out of Seattle. I was especially excited because I was born in Seattle and have tons of family there! We decided to combine our cruise with a visit to Seattle, Eastern Washington and the Oregon coast. I will be sharing the later parts of the trip in a future column. After departing Seattle, the Star Princess took us through glacier-carved fjords, forested islets and quaint ports along Alaska’s famed Inside Passage. Our ports included

Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway and Victoria, B.C before returning to Seattle. I did tons of research on this trip before we went, including on what to bring, wear, pack and activities for the ship and for each port. This was a seven night cruise in September, so we expected some rain and cold weather along with some sun. The cruise had a few formal nights, but I knew in advance Ray and I would probably skip them. So I choose not to bring any formal wear. If that is your thing, definitely do it. We just wanted to be as casual as possible. As with any trip away from home, pack your passport and other key travel documents and essentials. My wardrobe on this cruise consisted of casual clothes to wear during the day and for shore excursions. I brought leggings and tons of tops that layered well. I did buy a black puffer coat that is both super warm and rolls up amazingly small. Add in the gloves, hats and scarves for outdoor adventures. It is also important to bring rain gear and a pair of sturdy walking shoes or hiking boots. I also threw in a little black dress and shawl as well a pair of dressy black boots, just in case. Oh yes, and bring a bathing suit for the hot tub! I also purchased a cruise adapter for the outlets and some hooks with a magnetic back. These came in handy to hang itineraries and other material in the cabin. Ray and I splurged a bit for this trip and booked a mini suite with a balcony. It was totally worth it! The extra cabin and outdoor space made for 7 comfortable nights. Our first night on the cruise included a meet-and-greet champagne reception with fellow Texas cruisers and musicians. We decided to dine at one of the special restaurants, for which there is an upcharge. Again, the splurge is worth it. There were no crowds and we had an amazing delicious dinner of Alaskan halibut and filet mignon. We also spent time that evening exploring the ship. There is so much to do and see, both day and night: from the gym to the spa; the putting greens to the pools; the library to the casino; and buffets to the restaurants. We also enjoyed spending time on the balcony. The views while at sea are spectacular. I couldn’t keep track
Infinity
of how many whales we saw. I ate breakfast on my balcony in my pajamas while looking at glaciers. It was amazing. Food on the Star Princess was great. The buffets were especially wonderful and we certainly found ourselves at the pizza bar more than once. Several evenings we enjoyed the wine bar with taps as well. Our favorite way to end the night, of course, was with soft serve ice cream! Okay, so yes, I did go to the gym. On one of our sea days, Ray, and I, booked a day at the spa. It was awesome. We enjoyed the steam room, sauna and a couples’ massage. Besides the live Texas music concerts, our favorite pastimes on the boat ranged from going to a theatre show, playing bingo and watching movies bundled up at Movies Under The Stars. Now for the excursions: Our first stop was Ketchikan. Ketchikan is a small fishing town located in the Tongass National Forest. At 17 million acres, Tongass is the largest national forest in the United States. We decided to see Ketchikan on our own and enjoy our first - but not last - meal of Alaskan king crab. Ray and I made a deal we would have Alaskan king crab legs in each port! Ketchikan as a whole is heralded at the best location in Alaska to see totem poles. I wasn’t prepared for just how many are scattered casually around town beside streetlights, stop signs, and other nonchalant accessories of daily life. Eighty varieties of totems are found in the three block area of downtown Ketchikan. Lunch was at the Alaska Fish House. We shared a plate of Alaskan king crab and the AK Sampler, made up of freshly caught fish, Bering Sea Cod, Local Silver Salmon and Local Halibut dipped in seasoned batter. It is served with Mesquite Fries and Southwest Coleslaw. Throw in a couple ice cold Alaska brewed beers, and (Continued on pg. 6)

we were in heaven! After lunch, we strolled through town, shopped for souvenirs and toured the Dolly’s House Museum. It is the only “den of iniquity” that still stands today. You can’t miss Number 24 Creek street, for its green, doll house appearance that looks much like it did during its heyday. Five bucks give you a peek into a rambunctious and edgy past, a lively part of Ketchikan’s history until Dolly’s was shut down for good in 1954.
However, gazing at the crystal clear ocean with floating icebergs, lazy seals and the warm sun hitting my face, will always remain deep in my heart and my soul.
Our next excursion was taking a deluxe catamaran off of the cruise ship for an up close experience through the Tracy Arm Wilderness Area. This included glaciercarved cliffs, spectacular waterfalls and exciting close-up views of the majestic Sawyer Glaciers. The exceptional agility of the vessel allowed us to have an in-depth exploration of this amazing fjord, plus close views of the glaciers inaccessible to the cruise ship. Ray and I were in awe for the entire 6 hour trip. We saw cobalt-blue icebergs, spectacular cliffs, 1000-foot waterfalls and the iceberg calving. We were also blessed to see eagles, bears, seals, and three different kinds of whales. There were times during this excursion tears just streamed down my face. I have never seen so much untouched beauty in my life. Later that day, we spent another lovely afternoon exploring Juneau, Alaska’s capital city, along with more Alaskan king crab, sightseeing and shopping!
Until next time.
Our final excursion was in the port of Skagway. Skagway is most known for being the “Gateway to the Klondike.” Gold! Gold! Gold! Early in the day, we rode the Skagway White Pass Summit Rail and Bus Tour. This bus and rail combination tour provided a view of unparalleled beauty of Alaska from two completely different tour perspectives. We took the luxury bus up to Canid and then the vintage train back down to Skagway. We saw famous landmarks including Bridal Veil Falls, the Gold Rush Cemetery, Tormented Valley and the Skagway Scenic Overlook. It is known as the Scenic Railway of the World, and for good reason. Our last stop before heading back to Seattle was Victoria, British Columbia. Ray and I decided to stay on the ship that night and enjoyed having the vessel nearly all to ourselves. We had a light dinner, wine at the Wine Bar and finished the night off with our soft serve ice cream. Life is good.
If you ever have the opportunity, or can make the opportunity, to take an Alaskan cruise, do it! It is truly the trip of a lifetime. It’s one of the greatest things I’ve done in mine.

Artist of Life,
Drawing from Within – Part II by Patti Lightflower
“Embraced by the colors of sunrise, I begin anew” Working with textiles is in my genes as likely they are in yours too. An ancestral gift is passed down giving us an inner desire to make for ourselves what we need in our everyday lives. We turn functional crafts into treasures as we pour out our hearts through our hands into our work. Comfort foods and comfort clothing are important to our wellbeing. I made myself a quilted cocoon jacket many years ago in the colors of the sunrise and it is not only comfortable to wear but a comfort to wrap myself into its soft texture and the color combination a pleasure for the eyes even on cloudy days. I love how it’s faded over time and softened with age.
Apron Strings, Wings & Things Aprons and pinafores are made for protection against stains, spills and the snags of life. Join us in making an apron from an oversized denim or plain cotton shirt. Take this journey with us in making a special garment to enjoy and cherish that is filled with meaning and care. Be prepared to experience along the way motivating feelings of satisfaction, productivity and ingenuity. Visualizing how you want your journey to emerge and evolve is a good place to begin. There are several patterns easily available on the internet to make an apron from a shirt. You can use the front or the back, have ties at the waist and at the neck, or a cross over style which I’ve illustrated here. Once you’ve chosen how you’d like the apron to look and fit, the large surface becomes a canvas for individual expression. We can garnish with threads, paints, applique, fabric markers, buttons, beads and whatever your imagination inspires. I’ll guide you along with how I’m making mine and please feel free to email photos of your work, ideas

and feelings that arise during the process of making your own apron. Pattilightflower2@gmail.com Grab your shirt and scissors and we’ll begin. a) Cut away collar and sleeves and keep for use later. b) Cut side seams to separate front from back. I’ve chosen to use the back. c) Fold back in half, shoulder to shoulder and cut as drawn in sketch. This leaves you with the back panel ready to begin. You can hem the sides or embroidery around the edges. Another idea would be to cut strips of another thinner fabric on the bias and bind the edges. Pockets are great panels for embroidery, painting or stamping. Sketch out some ideas; perhaps a verse or some words of inspiration would be something you’d like to add.
About the Author: “I’ve always enjoyed working with textiles. As a child I watched my grandmother turn colorful cotton feed bags into play clothes. I designed and made dresses for my dolls from scraps of fabric and shoes for them from orange peels, which I pretended were leather. I’ve taken art classes at the University of Cincinnati in the 70’s, and have studied with textile artists at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, as well as with many other professionals in their studios over the years. My long time passion has been the study of hands and their owners, being creative and expressing my artistic side allows for manifesting something tangible whereas reading hands is more esoteric. Occasionally, I offer small group sessions for working with dyeing silk and other fun creative projects that allow freedom of expression and finding that within heart is art.” Patti Lightflower can be contacted at pattilightflower2 @gmail.com and more information can be found at her website: www.ireadhands.com

The Splendor of Spring by Cynthia, White Flower
The splendor of Spring is blooming in every color! It is time to allow the healing gifts of nature to help keep us connected, providing hope and comfort in the spirit of unity. Nature provides our examples. We are all connected, not only by the world situations but also through the Divine. It becomes our choice to acknowledge our Oneness, opening the door to our transcending gifts. In our Spring, green is our foundation. Green buds, unfolds, grows, connects, extends and builds, as it reaches out bestowing blessings of love. It perseveres, growing from every crevice, forging ahead with the message of growth, healing, and the promise of abundance. We are a part of this process. Spring invites us to embrace our healing, our connecting, our unity that is unfolding. Spring is patient, as new life beings new hope and the comfort of the moment. Archangel Raphael can assist us if we call. The Summit Lighthouse says that his name means “God has healed” or “the medicine of God.” He serves under the fifth ray of green illumination.
8
The Book of Enoch tells us that his responsibilities include healing the diseases and wounds of humans. As green connects all nature, let us remember that we are all connected, not only to each other but also to the green of Divine. There is life. There is hope. We have only to reach out to connect to that which is waiting for us. Purple, lavender and violet are dominate colors of Spring. These are the colors of transformation. They remind us that nothing has to stay the same. We have the power to transcend any situation. The 17th Century proverb comes to mind: “Where there is a will, there is a way!” Archangel Zadkiel stands for the seventh ray of freedom, divine alchemy and transmutation. We only have to ask… As we are already a part of “The Whole,” we still must choose to be connected consciously to this gift that we have been given. The name “Zadkiel” means “righteousness of God.” We have rights! We have the right to change! We can transmute any situation through the gift of the Violet Flame. Since thought - with
Apr / May 2020
emotion creates… we have only to pray fervently, “I AM calling the violet flame into my life to transmute and transform this situation…” Pray, pray, pray! until the peace comes! Violet reaches out to us in the spring reminding us to stay connected to our own transformation. As we change ourselves, we change the world! For guidance on using the violet flame: https://www.summitlighthouse.org/violet-flame-9steps-howto/?query_highlight=archangel+michael Yellow reaches out to us to say “I ignite your mind from the yellow flame of illumination!” Educations’ ray reminds us that knowledge is attained through our personal persistence! We are empowered by knowledge. Rumi reminds us, “Don’t be satisfied with stories, how things have gone with others. Unfold your own myth.” Just ask Archangel Jophiel, who serves the second ray and whose name means “beauty of God.” He may say that illumination is beautiful. From where we stand, it is necessary. The Summit Lighthouse descries this yellow vibration as “the ray of the power of precipitation—the alchemical process of drawing forth cosmic light and substance from the universal substance and coalescing it into physical form…” We are united through the yellow ray through our questioning, our research, our communicating… Continuing our truth is necessary as we discern through our hearts, that which is true and that which is not. Blue is the calming flower, inspiring peace. The color of trust, “true blue” resonates on the first ray of protection, faith and The Will of God. Archangel Michael, The Defender, is the one to call for protection. As we meditate on the color blue, we open to the certainty that we are not alone. We have only to ask – to receive. As we navigate these new waters of our lives, “Don’t be satisfied with stories, how things have gone with others. Unfold your own myth.” Rumi Cited: https://www.summitlighthouse.org/

satisfied with any references I received. I went online and looked at the websites of local chiropractors. The Baker Chiropractic website was definitely the most impressive, so I called and I am so glad I did. On my initial visit to Baker Chiropractic and Wellness, they took x-rays (my previous chiropractor never did). When Dr. Baker went over the results with me I cried. My neck had no natural curve at all; my pelvis was 12 mm shorter on the left side than on the right side, the vertebrae in my lower back were close to being fused and my mid-spine showed misalignment. No wonder I was in so much pain and discomfort all the time.
Janice Martin and Dr. Patrick Baker
My name is Janice Martin and I am 62 years young. I lead a healthy lifestyle, eat close to a vegan diet, exercise on a regular basis and look physically fit, yet I have been suffering from neck, back, shoulder and leg pain for over 25 years. Before coming to see Dr. Patrick Baker, the pain in my mid-back and lower back was becoming unbearable; I could not sit in any chair for more than a few minutes. Sleeping was not any better. When I got out of bed in the morning, I could not straighten- up for several minutes. My left leg was also radiating with pain from my groin down to my ankle. I was never comfortable. To give some background; I was born with a dislocated hip and was positioned different ways in a body cast during the first year and a half of my life. Because of this my left leg always turned inward. I think this along with stress, excessive weight-bearing and lifting, (especially when I helped care for my invalid mother), caused my whole spine to become misaligned. I had been seeing another chiropractor for many years and he did give me some “relief therapy. Over the past year though, I was coming to the realization that I was feeling much worse. There had to be another chiropractor out there who could help me? I had asked around, but was not really
10
Dr. Baker said I was fixable, although I found this hard to believe after seeing my x-rays. I could not take the pain any longer, so I had to put my trust in this chiropractor. A treatment plan was set up for me, which I followed as directed. I started treatment in July and began feeling relief after just a few adjustments. Within 3 months I was feeling better than I had felt in 25 years! The pain that radiated down my left leg was gone. I was able to sit for much longer periods of time; I was sleeping better, and got out of bed standing straight, no more morning hunchback. I was feeling very happy and optimistic. It was October 26th (about 3 ½ months since I had started treatment), and I did a really stupid thing. I took my 7-year old granddaughter to a roller-skating party. I was skating around the rink like I was 12 again. I was going a little too fast, and my feet went out from under me. I landed flat on my backside. I caught myself with my hands so my head did not hit the floor and got a good whiplash too. I knew I was really hurt, but somehow managed to get myself and my granddaughter home. Within an hour I could not get off the floor. I was in excruciating pain. My son and daughter came over and wanted to take me to the emergency, but I knew what would happen in the ER and said I would wait and see Dr. Baker in the morning. I could barely move and could not hold my head up. I had to lie in the car as my daughter drove me there. Dr. Baker took x-rays and nothing was broken, but I was misaligned worse than before I had started treatment. For 3 days I could not even hold my head up. My neck and spine had compressed and needed to decompress.

Dr. Baker and his very helpful and friendly staff helped me get through this entire ordeal. They saw plenty of tears from me, but helped me to relax and heal. I went for adjustments and then home to sleep on my back with icepacks as they advised. For 2 weeks I went for adjustments and massages, then back home to sleep and apply ice. As one part of my body would heal the pain would manifest itself in another body part; but little by little everything healed. Slowly I began to start exercising again and building myself back up with the guidance of Dr Baker and his staff.

I–n Others’ Uncertain Times, Tend to the Children First and Your Inner Child by Jody Johnston Pawel, LSW, CFLE In times of change and uncertainty, it’s natural for adults and children to feel anxious. We hear clichés that are supposed to make us feel better, like “We’re in this together” and “Be positive!” When faced with many competing challenges and a lack of control and options, it’s hard to flip on a positivity switch. We can, however, choose to use this experience to learn helpful thoughts and behaviors that will not just get us through this crisis, but build resilience, so we can thrive through these times instead of merely surviving them. Here are some tips for some internal mindsets and external skills to develop that will empower you to get through whatever may happen, with 12
less anxiety, more hope, and a greater sense of balance. First, Embrace Change It’s pointless to resist change; it is inevitable. Instead, embrace change as an opportunity to learn and grow. It’s a challenge to do that when you are experiencing many sudden and unexpected changes and transitions at once, like working from home, having children or spouses home all day, being a full-time parent, being responsible for being your child’s teacher, losing a job or income, and more. Any one of these is a challenging transition and many of us are experiencing several or many Apr / May 2020
of these changes simultaneously. This can be overwhelming. Your Rule of Thumb: when feeling overwhelmed, break down the tasks, feelings, or issues into smaller pieces, prioritize them, and address each one, constantly moving forward, if only by baby steps. Watch What You Think and Say to Yourself and Others There’s a lot of focus on what we need to do to protect ourselves and others. Our responsibility goes beyond that, because it’s not just our actions that affect others. We are interconnected and interdependent, so we need to be responsible to each other, even if we aren’t responsible for each other, because what each of us thinks, says, and does affects others. Our thoughts trigger biochemical changes that cause us to feel what we are thinking. What we feel affects our heart, the greatest electromagnetic organ in our body. It helps create our life vibration, which attracts to us whatever we are thinking and feeling. Without saying or doing anything, others pick up on our vibrations. (Have you ever gotten a “bad vibe” from someone?) Negative, toxic thoughts create negative, toxic emotions that harm the body and create negative vibrations that can negatively affect others. When we speak, we magnify and amplify our vibrations, then broadcasting them, like radio waves, into the universe, where they exist forever. So, we must be responsible to ourselves first, in thought, word and deed. The more we align our thoughts, feelings, words, vibrations and actions in a positive direction, the more it can affect and infect others, like a positive virus!
Infinity
Be Still and Take Action It’s confusing and stressful to be asked to do conflicting things. It seems impossible to do both at the same time and not knowing which to do first or more can be immobilizing. When you feel stuck, ask yourself solution-based “how” questions. Your sub-conscious mind will start answering. Ask questions like “How can I protect myself through social distancing, which keeps me physically healthy, and still connecting with others, which keeps me mentally and emotionally healthy?” Focus on What you Can Control It can be frustrating not to have control over our basic needs, like income, food and healthcare. You will feel better if you act on what you can control, like social distancing and good hygiene. Then put your faith in the helpers of this world (on earth and above, seen and the unseen), who are working hard to solve the many challenges there already are and preventing more from starting. If you feel worried or anxious, channel that energy into being part of the solution. Help others, directly or indirectly. Do activities that help you feel purposeful and productive. Keep a gratitude jar or journal and add entries and review it whenever you start feeling down or find yourself complaining. Honor Feelings Help your children and inner child cope with the many losses you each may be experiencing, like losing a job, missing friends at school or

work, canceled family celebrations for milestones like graduations, recitals, and weddings. Don’t minimize someone’s feelings, not even your own. Acknowledge the feelings, which are valid, and be there for yourself or the other person. You don’t need to fix anything; if there are possible solutions, brainstorm ideas to try. Maintain Balance What you do externally can benefit you internally. Stay busy enough to not be bored while not being constantly busy. For example, use this time at home to do projects that will make you feel better, whether cleaning out a closet, painting a room, or planting a small garden. Then take a relaxation break. Like being social? Think creatively, outside the box, for solutions and reach out to involve others. For example, organize or participate in an online performance with others who share your talent, like a concert or play. Play board games with others using video calls. Travel on a vacation online, visiting museum virtual tours, watching videos of your imaginary destination, imagining you are really there. Exercise with others online, whether dance, yoga, or other practices. We are hugely blessed to have the internet and video calls during this time, to help us stay connected with people we can’t physically contact. At the same time, that same technology can produce unnecessary anxiety if we stay on it too long, seeing and hearing the constant barrage of negative news or being couch potatoes eating laying around eating and watching TV. There’s a balance. As the weather improves, make time every day to unplug and connect with the spirit of Mother Nature, which can both revitalize and calm us, helping us reconnect with our inner peace, joy, and harmony. 14
The Promise of Spring Just as Spring is the season that promises new life in nature, this season can remind us that the challenges we are now facing shall also pass. It might not be as fast as we prefer, but in the context of our entire lives it is just a short time. It’s a good opportunity to create new habits that will be set by the time life gets back to “normal.” It might never be the normal we had before, but if we work on ourselves during this time, we will be better, stronger, and more resilient in the end. Stay calm. Stay strong. Stay connected. Stay healthy. The Importance of Less by Cynthia M. Brown
I am here in my home. I am well. I still have a job during this pandemic. I have everything I need. I have actually done more grocery shopping in the last 9 days than I usually do in 5 weeks. We are being told to stay home; no dining out, no going to bars, movies, salons, gyms, concerts…. We cannot even visit with our friends and family. Video chats, facetime, zoom meetings are the only means we have of seeing one another….Odd, until a week ago most of us would rather send a text or post our photo on facebook than take the time to walk or drive to see someone at their home… We are all suddenly afraid of shortages...not enough toilet paper, water, fresh meat, milk, money….. We have so much less to do without time… Our world has been reduced from the whole world, to the world of our homes and yards and for those of us lucky enough to still have a job, the world of our work place. The world, the human world, anyway, is in the midst of a plague and we have all been ordered to stay home. The natural world is just awakening and now we suddenly have so much time to stop and pay attention to it. Of course, I could sit in front of network television and be bombarded with the local, state and federal updates on the pandemic followed by the local and national news about it. I could stream old movies or tv series I always wanted to watch but never had time for.. Or I can open my doors and windows and with the sun as my lamp and the breeze and the sounds of birds as my stereo, I can catch up on my reading. I can, for the first season since I planted it, sit and appreciate my weeping cherry tree and actually enjoy its gorgeous and all too brief flood of white blossoms. I can spend a lot of time giving my devoted little dog extra long walks and extra sessions of fetch in the yard. Instead of dining out I can spend time in my kitchen learning to use gadgets I have been given but never take the time to use. I can finally catch

up on stocking my freezer with my favorite quick meals, veggie burgers, lentil burgers, soups, cooked chicken for salad….. How Many times have I complained as I drove to the movies or dinner that I never had enough time to do any of those things? So now, my consumer filled life has been reduced to the essentials. I drive to work and then home. I stop for milk or coffee if we need it on my way home. I have so much less to do but somehow, I have so much more to do. Spring is here. My basement is clean. My gardens are planned. Soon the flower beds will be cleaned. Seeds will be planted. I may even finish expanding my patio. And when this is all over…. I hope businesses recover. I hope we all support those small businesses that are giving away their food and space to those in more need but I hope we also see that we need to remember how important this reset has been. What we spend our time, energy and hard earned money on matters. What matters is the fleeting beauty of the spring; the time we spend sharing a meal with our adult children who are as busy and unavailable as we are. What matters is really deciding what purchases are essential since we don’t know how long we will be working. What matters is actually spending in person face time with those we love NOW because there may not be an opportunity tomorrow or the day after that. What matters is really looking at what we really need in our lives and living that way every day not just when we are forced to do so for the sake of our own survival…. Maybe that is the key though. The pandemic is about the physical survival of people, but what about the rest of us? Our hearts, spirits, our souls? I have felt, even amid all the scary numbers and dire warnings, lighter and happier than I have in months, just being home and spending time with my family. Being over committed is a huge burden that, as long as there are stay at home orders, I no longer carry. I intend to make the most of it. Happy spring.

Defense Frequencies
for Better Immunity by Jill Mattson
In early March, I was awestruck with the devastating worldwide spread of the Coronavirus Pandemic. I immediately thought of Sharry Edwards, who I have known for 20 years. I was familiar with past work that she had done studying viruses and pathogens and protocols that she had developed to alleviate the effects of these - all based on sound frequencies. I contacted her to see what we might be able to do together. As I expected, Sharry had already been hard at work on possible solutions to this virus scourge. Sharry Edwards’ life work has been studying Sound Frequencies as they relate to living organisms and the many interactions and possibilities that exist and link the two realms. She has opened up a new field of investigation - a proto-science, concerning all this - which she calls BioAcoustics. I (Jill Mattson) have worked for over 30 years in a kindred field, which I refer to as Sound Healing. Sharry’s specialties include identifying and applying special Frequency EquivalentsTM to assist the human body - in an amazing number of diverse ways. My skills are centered around composing music and utilizing/ applying Sound Energy and music, teaching, writing, and making these powerful tools available to the average person. How our work helps against the Coronavirus – Before I try to explain how our work can help against the coronavirus pandemic, I MUST make clear that we are NOT medical professionals. PLEASE READ DISCLOSURE DISCLAIMER on the website: CoronaVirusDefense.org. We do not intend to give any medical advice or provide any treatments. We completely support the recommendations to do Social Distancing and Hygiene practices etc. Contact your doctor if you are not feeling well. We believe in the value of our medical system, and we want what is best for everyone. We also do not believe that our work compelling as it is - is in any way a substitute for proper healthy behavior including diet, exercise, and rest. We firmly feel that we offer something that

can help some people significantly. We first want to make sure that we DO NO HARM. That said, we believe that the work that Edwards and Mattson have collaborated on can be most beneficial. Though Edwards has had success in directly combating some viruses in the past (see website section on Historical Cases - BioAcoustics), in the instance of the Coronavirus, the best option appears to be providing the frequencies of two essential compounds to strengthen the immune system. Edwards has been able to determine that with the onslaught of the current pandemic, the body is in dire need of specific nutrients to help counter the Coronavirus; two critical ones, according to Edwards, are glutathione and quercetin. A healthy immune system always needs these nutrients - and seemingly in the case of the Coronavirus, they are especially essential. We can eat foods that are good sources of these nutrients, such as: For glutathione - asparagus, avocado, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, spinach, broccoli, garlic, chives, tomatoes, cucumbers, almonds and walnuts For quercetin - onions, apples, grapes, berries, broccoli, citrus fruits, cherries, tea, and capers Research has shown that glutathione is an antioxidant in plants, animals, and some simple organisms. It has been shown to be a critical component in the lymphatic system - supporting the immune system. It has also demonstrated detoxification benefits. Quercetin has exhibited a wide range of health benefits, including the ability to reduce inflammation, reduce pain, protect against cardiovascular diseases, anti-cancer agents, boost the immune system, reduce histamines, fight allergic reactions and skin irritation. Sharry has done some fantastic work on the Coronavirus, and she has made available some countering frequencies that I have turned into energy-packed audio recordings that are available for downloading and listening - NOW! AND THEY ARE FREE OF CHARGE! Everything is contained in 18 mp3’s totaling 70 minutes in length. I am calling the collection of our collaborative effort:

Frequencies for Defense ~ Sound Healing Protection for your Immune System against the Coronavirus. Visit CoronaVirusDefense.org to get the free mp3 downloads now! Plus, other valuable information. The music available on this site includes nine frequencies that Sharry Edwards identified to help strengthen the harmony of the body against the attack of the Coronavirus. These sounds stimulate the body to build a wall of “sound protection” against the virus. The sounds are specific packets of energy aimed to support the harmony and strength of the immune system. Listen to Mattson’s compositions containing Edwards’ Frequency Equivalents of glutathione and quercetin. Your body needs a healthy dose of these energies, and this is a powerful way to get them. Altogether Frequencies For Defense consists of 18 tracks that range from about two minutes to seven minutes. The free mp3 tracks will sound like pleasing instrumental music on the surface. However, these compositions are deep, multilayered tonics. They are filled with the emanations from over 20 conventional instruments plus - most importantly the frequencies for critical components needed by your immune system. In addition to the glutathione and quercetin, mentioned above, we have included seven other substances that will empower the effectiveness of the immune system and increase the overall efficacy of these mp3s. Some of the other frequencies included are for: Vitamin C, adrenaline, ephinephrine, ACTH, and others. Mattson’s music that contain these frequencies is called Crystal Realms -”Enchanting Music With Frequencies of uplifting Flower Essences and Crystal Healings”. Absorb the positive energy of the instrumental music and special embedded frequencies for emotional clearing and healing. There are frequencies for a dozen flower essences and twelve crystals! All remain in the Frequencies for Defense collection. The music is profoundly calming and provides a peaceful feeling amidst the tension surrounded by the coronavirus epidemic. When your body is at peace and relaxed, it devotes more energy to the building and repair of your body. Please get the free Music Files at coronavirusdefence. org

Cayce Astrology as a Tool for Self-Understanding by Nicholas Theo When the Edgar Cayce readings spoke about astrology, the view was far different than those of traditional astrologers who saw astrology as a method only used to describe fixed traits and destinies. It is only in the past 20 years that the greater astrology community has caught up with Cayce’s perspective. Cayce explained how astrology could be used as a tool to gain self-understanding. His view of astrology was that its goal was for us to gain soul growth from understanding the use and direction of our free will in expressing our drives, goals, and energies. Astrology is a way for us to see that we are an integral part of the ecosystem within our solar system. In 1936, in a life reading for a woman from Canada, Cayce clearly explained astrology’s objective in relation to our own soul experience, “Considering then life, a soul, an entity as a continuous stream of experience—and the activities in the earth’s plane as a lesson that is learned by the entity— the experiences through the astrological sojourns
20
become rather as a digesting or an assimilating of that which has been experienced or gained in the lesson.” (Edgar Cayce reading 1230-1) An astrological birth chart then becomes a useful and active tool of learning and guidance when an astrologer interprets the chart from this vantage point. An astrologer trained in this method offers others a reason and a goal for understanding their life purpose. A trait of shorttemperedness shown by a planetary aspect from Mars to Uranus, for example, as seen from this perspective gives the native an insight on why their soul chose this energy to experience, and from that conscious realization, they then have an active role in deciding how to work with anger in their current life. Through exercising free will this individual may choose to consciously work on directing their anger into productive channels, or may decide to do nothing at all, and thus meet the events of daily life with ever a short temper.
Apr / May 2020
Cayce consistently reiterated that we control our own destiny because of free will. In one of the first readings Cayce gave on the subject of astrology in 1923, he stated: “…but let it be understood here, no action of any planet or phases of the Sun, the Moon or any heavenly bodies surpass the rule of man’s will power, the power given by the Creator of man, in the beginning, when he became a living soul, with the power of choosing for himself.” (Edgar Cayce reading 3744-3) It is within this statement that Cayce presents us with the blueprint of our existence: when we choose to live actively self-aware, we acknowledge our relationship with the Creator, and consequently we approach our potential for the expression of our creativity and will. Cayce’s view on astrology, in recent years there is an ever widening circle of astrologers whose focus is to ensure that an astrological chart is interpreted from the understanding that the human soul is eternal, and thus the current life is but a chapter within its experience, and that the soul exercises free will. Astrology is a language of the subconscious mind where its symbols reflect the tendencies and drives of the person, but it is in no way rigid and fatalistic in its interpretation. British therapist and astrologer Mark Jones eloquently states this in, Healing the Soul, “The natal chart is not a cage from which we must be released. It is not a reality imposed upon us from without. The natal chart is the symbolic expression of the infinite field as it has been translated into human form and it is the expression of our karmic potentiality as held within that field. That potentiality emerges from the nature of who we really are.” When you choose to use your astrology chart as a means for self-discovery, make sure that the astrologer reading your birth chart adheres to the two basic principles that Cayce instructed us on astrology: a guide for soul growth and free will choice. In the weeks after the reading, allow time for your insights and understanding to surface into your consciousness. Take the information and guidance from your chart analysis, and then actively apply it to your life.

About the Author: Nicholas Theo is an operations and strategic manager and has done work for organizations including A.R.E. and Atlantic University. He was raised with the Cayce materials and his interest in astrology started as a teenager. Because the Cayce readings on astrology consistently emphasize the importance of using astrology as a tool for self-discovery and understanding rather than as a primarily predictive system, over the years, his interest in astrology evolved into a side vocation with research on the application of soul astrology (Soulastrologer.com). He has been doing astrology readings since 1980. References: Astrology Part 1, The Edgar Cayce Readings (Vol. 18, p. 522, 551). (1985). Virginia Beach, VA: A.R.E./Edgar Cayce Foundation Jones, M. Our Pets Can Help by Cindy Huff
I am writing this on March 19th. Our world is facing a very grave challenge from the coronavirus (COVID19) pandemic, and we are all stressed right now. Our reality is changing day to day – empty grocery shelves, working from home, some in the food industry who work in restaurants and bars are losing their jobs. It will get better, and it will take time. We as a people are resilient and we band together to help each other at times like this. As Americans, it is what we do. The editor of this publication asked us to write about our pets (I include horses in that definition too), and how this situation can potentially impact them, and our relationship with them. She also asked us to address the question of whether or not our pets can contract the virus from us, or vise versa. Since we are not veterinarians, we are not qualified to provide an opinion on that ourselves. What I did do is talk with our small animal vet, and I researched articles from schools of veterinary science as well as the Center for Disease Control (CDC). Keep in mind this information is as of 3/19/2020 and scientific guidance on this topic may change as we go through this pandemic. Based on what they know today, our local vet is indicating that they do not believe that our pets can contract the COVID-19 virus from us. I also found an additional references to this from the veterinary college at University of Illinois. Here are some links for your reference: https://vetmed.illinois.edu/pet_column/coronaviruspets/ From the FAQ’s page on COVID-19 states as of 3/12/2020: “It is possible that a person with COVID-19 could sneeze or otherwise contaminate their pet, and then another individual could touch that animal and contract the disease. Veterinary experts believe the risk for transmission would be low. However, animals living with sick individuals should be kept away from other people and animals (quarantined at home), just as people who live with sick individuals must avoid contact with others.”
22
The CDC website (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/ 2019-ncov/faq.html#animals) states the following as of 3/12/2020: “While this virus seems to have emerged from an animal source, it is now spreading from person-toperson in China. There is no reason to think that any animals including pets in the United States might be a source of infection with this new coronavirus. To date, CDC has not received any reports of pets or other animals becoming sick with COVID-19. At this time, there is no evidence that companion animals including pets can spread COVID-19. However, since animals can spread other diseases to people, it’s always a good idea to wash your hands after being around animals. For more information on the many benefits of pet ownership, as well as staying safe and healthy around animals including pets, livestock, and wildlife, visit CDC’s Healthy Pets, Healthy People website.” Please keep in mind that it is early, and that information will change daily. For example, the World Health Organization (WHO) is indicating the same general guidelines above, but it has removed its text that pets cannot contract the virus from humans as of today. What is very important for all of us who live with and interact with pets is to wash our hands before and after we interact with them, especially during this pandemic. Our pets will pick up our worry and stress from us and can become stressed themselves. This can result in behavior changes such as separation anxiety, chewing, staying extremely close to their humans, vocalizing, and heightened sensitivity to sound, light, storms, and our voice tones. We need to calm down for ourselves as well as for them. Be patient with them during this stressful time. Many of you may still be working from home or spending more time at home due to the pandemic. You can use this opportunity to spend quality time with your pets. Invite them to play and cuddle. If you are able to spend time safely walking or playing with them outdoors, that’s a plus for you both. If you have a horse, this is a great opportunity to spend more undemanding time with them doing things like hand grazing them, or just hanging out having fun with them in whatever way you both enjoy.

Accept that this Higher Power is understood in different ways and by different names in various religions and cultures, and open our lives to hearing the Divine Voice in any way it chooses to communicate to us. There are many roads that lead Home, and there are many ways in which we hear the call to return. Some experience The Divine through religion, some through nature, and some through the quietness of a stilled mind that has been searching. It doesn’t matter what we call the experience. It doesn’t matter what religious wording we assign to the experience. Y

For many years I was afraid of other religious belief systems, and I refused to accept their experience of The Divine as real. How foolish. Who am I to judge another’s experience? When judging others, I limit my ability to see The Divine in other religions, other nations, and in people outside my small world of religious faith. The names we assign to our Higher Power don’t matter. Neither do the titles we give for religious, or more accurately, spiritual experiences. What matters is to accept others’ experiences as valid, learn from them, and open our minds and hearts to hearing the Divine Voice in any way it chooses to communicate with us. It wasn’t until I donned a clerical collar that I came to understand how people viewed religious leaders differently. Some were comforted by my presence while others seemed ill at ease. “Before long I realized that many had been damaged through judgment, guilt, rejection, and condemnation by a religion or by someone religious. I’m happy to report that these people do not have to languish in fear, depression, or resentment. “In Every Path Leads Home, Wayne Holmes has created a brilliant and very gentle way out of religious abuse and intolerance into peace, happiness, and personal freedom. “It is a way to heal us all. –Rev. Wayne Holmes’ Every Path Leads Home is a beautiful book of acceptance. Our lives on this plane of existence are of short duration, and we are all “headed home. Different faith experiences define “home differently, and each suggests a path or paths. For anyone who has been abused by the supposed rules and strictures of a church or congregation or pastor, for anyone who has come to see religion not as a faith experience but rather as a set of ironclad rules, for anyone who has grown weary of the struggle to find God by whatever name: Every Path Leads Home is a must-read.
Every Path Leads Home:
The only thing that matters is the experience. It might not be just one experience but often a lifetime of hearing in subtle and at times not so subtle ways, the call of The Divine. By assigning a name to the experience, “ we limit our ability to recognize The Divine. Eastern religions speak of enlightenment. Some Christian “ religions talk of being saved. Native American’s might refer to an experience of being one with the Earth.

Edible Flowers
For Elegant Cuisine
Cooking with flowers is an ancient art, and it is making a comeback in modern day cuisine. The art of using flowers to add taste and texture to any dish is a fun and innovative way to introduce a new flair to a favorite dish. Desserts can be served with a delicate and beautiful design. Rose petals on a wedding cake or any cake for celebration, etc. is a great way to decorate if one desires to take the time to do it. Provided below is a list of edible flowers, and these all must be organic, of course, and free of any pesticides. Allergies must be taken into consideration, and common sense applies. Marigold- can be used as a substitute for the expensive spice saffron, great in salads
24
Lilac- has a lemony taste, can be slightly bitter, great to crystallize with sugar and egg whites very fragrant Nasturtiums- beautiful colors, sweet, spicy flavors, the leaves add a tangy peppery taste to salads, entire flowers are great for garnish Peony- the petals are used for tea, add to summer salad or with water or lemonades Scented Geranium- petals can be sprinkled over desserts, freeze in ice cubes, or drinks. Do not use Citronella variety. Roses- all varieties are edible, may be used for garnish, petals can be used in salads, butters, syrups, sweet spreads and added to drinks. Remove any white bitter part of petals, before using.
Apr / May 2020

Scents Trigger Strong
Feelings from Memories by Dr. Joeseph Mercola
The scent of fresh-cut grass, your mom’s chicken soup or burning leaves may instantly transport you to a distant memory, one you can suddenly recall with razor-sharp clarity. So-called odor-evoked memories often come along with powerful emotions and are known to activate the “neurolobiological substrates of emotional processing,” according to neuroscientist Rachel S. Herz, an adjunct assistant professor of psychiatry and human behavior at Brown University.1 Research published in Learning and Memory2 added to this, suggesting that odors may modulate the dynamics of memory consolidation, including memories linked to fear, and could potentially be used therapeutically to help people recall memories or treat memory-related mood disorders, such as posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD).3 “If odor could be used to elicit the rich recollection of a memory — even of a traumatic experience — we could take advantage of that [therapeutically],” study author Steve Ramirez, assistant professor of psychology and brain sciences at Boston University, said in a news release.4 The Systems Consolidation Theory of Memory The prevailing theory of memory formation — the systems consolidation theory — suggests that memories are initially processed in the brain’s hippocampus, giving the memory rich details. Over time, however, as memories become older or more remote, they become less dependent on the hippocampus and more dependent on processing by the front of the brain — the prefrontal cortex. During this transition, which occurs particularly during sleep, memories may lose many of their
26
rich contextual details. Further, memories that are retrieved shortly after an experience involve reactivation of cells in the hippocampus whereas retrieval of a memory later is thought to involve reactivation of cells in the prefrontal cortex.5 The systems consolidation theory explains why memories tend to become less detailed or clear as time goes by, as well as why people with a damaged hippocampus have trouble forming new memories while those with prefrontal cortex damage may have trouble remembering memories from the past.6 The theory, however, is just that — a theory — and it has some challenges as well. Researchers noted in Learning and Memory, “[P]eople often retrieve remote memories that are vivid and highly detailed. Likewise, several studies have shown that there is activity in both structures during both recent and remote memory recall … and that damage to the HPC [hippocampus] sometimes affects remote memory as well as recent memory.”7 Particularly in PTSD, people may recall intense memories years after the trauma occurred, which seemingly contradicts the systems consolidation theory, leading the researchers to conduct a study to clarify some of these contradictions. Memories Induced by Scent Are More Emotional Odor-evoked memory is dubbed the “Proust phenomenon” after a literary anecdote where Marcel Proust took a bite of a biscuit dipped in Linden tea and was transported to a moment in his childhood that he had long forgotten. Odor-evoked memories, Herz explained, are unique from memories evoked by other stimuli, such as verbal or visual stimuli. Not only are they more rare and less frequently thought about, but they tend to come from early in life, typically within the first decade. What’s more, autobiographical memories triggered by odors tend to be much more emotional and have the perception of

bringing people back to the original time and place that their memories occurred. Part of the unique intensity of odor-evoked memories has to do with the way scent is processed by your brain. Smells get routed through your olfactory bulb, which the smell-analyzing region in your brain. It’s closely connected to your amygdala and hippocampus, brain regions that handle memory and emotion. According to Herz:10 “Odor-evoked memories are exceptionally viscerally involving because the neuroanatomy of olfaction has a privileged and unique connection to the neural substrates of emotion and associative learning. The primary olfactory cortex includes the amygdala, which processes emotional experience and emotional memory, as well as the hippocampus, which is involved in associative learning. Thus, the mere act of smelling activates the amydala-hippocampal complex.” Odor-Evoked Memories Influence Psychological, Physical Health By boosting mood, lowering stress and reducing inflammation, it’s likely that the powerful emotions elicited by positive odor-evoked memories can influence psychological and physiological health. “Any odor that for a given individual evokes a happy autobiographical memory has the potential to increase positive emotions, decrease negative moods, disrupt cravings, lower stress and decrease inflammatory immune responses, and thereby have a generally beneficial effect on psychological and physiological well-being,” Herz wrote,11 noting that individuals may also experience unique effects like improvements in self-confidence, motivation and vigor depending on the emotions a specific memory invokes. For example, if an odor triggers a memory of winning a sporting event, it could energize your behavior and trigger beneficial physiological effects, making it a reliable therapeutic agent. Likewise, odors that evoke pleasant memories could be used as reminders of safe

or happy places and events, making them useful for the treatment of psychiatric conditions and reducing stress and anxiety.12 The unique anatomy of the olfactory pathways hints at the importance of odors in emotions, learning, memory and more. While other sensory systems pass through the thalamus to reach the cortex, odors get relayed directly to the limbic system in the brain, which is associated with memory and emotional processes. This is why odors have such a powerful influence on mood, information acquisition and even social interactions. As noted in Frontiers in Behavioral Neurosciences, memory is but one crucial behavior influenced by odors:13 “Indeed, olfaction is crucially involved in behaviors essential for survival of the individual and species, including identification of predators, recognition of individuals for procreation or social hierarchy, location of food, as well as attachment between mating pairs and infant-caretaker dyads.” Aromatherapy: Another Way Scents Influence Mood and More Aromatherapy — the use of plant-based aromas to influence mood and wellness — is not the same as odor-evoked memory. In the case of the psychological and physiological effects induced by odor-evoked memories, the odor has such effects because of the memories and emotions attached to it as a result of past personal experience.14 This isn’t to say that aromatherapy isn’t also beneficial for health and wellness, just that it works in a different, more generalized way. Many ancient cultures, including the Chinese, Indians, Egyptians, Greeks and Romans used essential oils in cosmetics, perfumes and drugs for purposes ranging from spiritual to therapeutic.15

In the modern day, aromatherapy is used in health care settings, health spas and homes, both by professional aromatherapists and amateurs, while accumulating research backs up its many potential uses and benefits. For instance, the two primary terpenoid constituents of lavender essential oil, linalool and linalyl acetate, have anxiety-reducing effects, and lavender essential oil is known to induce a calming effect without side effects such as sedation.16 Lavender also has an effect on the nervous system, and when inhaled it’s believed to act via the limbic system, particularly the amygdala and hippocampus,17 although it may have effects even beyond mood and anxiety. In a study on patients undergoing open heart surgery, a cotton swab containing lavender essential oil was placed in the patients’ oxygen mask for 10 minutes. The aromatherapy led to significant reductions in blood pressure and heart rate, with researchers concluding it could be “used as an independent nursing intervention in stabilizing mentioned vital signs.”18 Beyond lavender, a study on rats showed that inhaling Roman chamomile essential oil for two weeks reduced depressive-like behaviors,19 while essential oils placed nightly on towels around dementia patients’ pillows resulted in significantly longer total sleep time, increased sustained sleep and reduced early morning awakening.20 While it’s best to consult an experienced aromatherapist before delving into essential oils, generally speaking if you’re looking to feel energized and uplifted, consider essential oils such as peppermint, grapefruit, lemon, neroli and wild orange while more calming oils include lavender, chamomile, bergamot, ylang ylang and vetiver. Loss of Sense of Smell Also Gives Clues About Health Paying attention to any changes in your sense of smell, including a loss of it, is also important. In a study of 3,005 community-dwelling adults, those who had a dysfunctional sense of smell were more likely to die in the next five years than those with a good sense of smell. In fact, olfactory function was deemed to be one of the strongest predictors of five-year mortality and researchers suggested it may “serve as a bellwether for slowed cellular regeneration or as a marker of cumulative toxic environmental exposures.”21 An inability to identify odors is also an early symptom of neurological disorders, including Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease.22 So, make a conscious effort to keep track of your sense of smell, using it for memory recall, mood boosts and as a gauge for your health should it dissipate. While odor-evoked memories can be powerful tools for health and behavior as well, they depend largely on happenstance, in that a scent must be introduced at the precise moment that a memorable event is occurring — then that scent must later be introduced to evoke the memory. It happens often enough that virtually everyone reading this has experienced it, but if you’re looking for a more direct way to harness the power of odors over your health, aromatherapy can be very useful. To see the earth as it is now... The sun shines by day, and the moon glows by night. Nothing has changed. A healing humanity exists only if we hold the earth in the palm of our hands and nurture it. Care for it as if it were your newborn child. It is in all that we cherish that we plant the seed with forgiveness, surrender and love. The promise for a brighter tomorrow is possible, with a tiny drop of water, symbolizing our faith. It will take all of the streams to meet the rivers to guide us to all of the oceans. Faith will move mountains, and the oceans of faith will heal all of humanity.
