Moments of Grace: We All Have Them

NEALE DONALD WALSCH After the publication of Conversations with God, the question that I was asked more often than any other was: “Why you?

Why did God pick you?” And, always, I’ve responded with, “God did not pick me. God picks everyone. God is speaking to all of us, all the time.

The question is not, to whom does God talk? The question is, who listens?”

Are You Listening?

God talks to us in many ways every day. God is shameless and will use any device to communicate with us. The lyrics to the next song you hear on the radio. The chance utterance of a friend on the street that you “just happen” to meet. An article in a four-month old magazine at the hair salon. And, yes, a voice that speaks directly to you.

But you must listen. You must be aware that God communicates directly with you. This is not a hope. This is not a wish. This is not a prayer. This is a reality.

God’s communications come to

you in Moments of Grace. But you will move right through those moments, and not even know that they occurred, if you are not aware.

Open Your Eyes and Ears

I keep making this point, over and over again, because I want you to attune your spiritual self.

I want you to open your eyes and ears. I want you to awaken your senses. I want you to “come to your senses” about God! Because God’s messages are coming to you all the time.

Most human beings believe that the opposite is true. We have been trained by our society — including, interestingly, many of our religions — to deny the possibility that God would speak directly to ordinary people. God has talked to human beings, we are told, but not in a very long time, and not to regular people.

His communications are called revelations, and these were said to have been given only to very special people under very spe-

cial circumstances.

If the “special” people who had these experiences (or those who heard about them) happened to write down the details, those writings were called Sacred Scriptures. The writings of any “regular person” sharing such experiences were called heresy.

Additionally, the closer someone’s experience is to the present time, the more likely it is to be dismissed as delusional or hallucinatory.

Denying or Acknowledging our Personal Experience?

Our job in this present culture of denial is not to deny the experience of our own soul, of our own mind, and of our own body, but to declare it. Loud and clear, for all to hear. That is not always easy.

For years, when the experience of my own soul, mind, or body (to say nothing of all three) ran counter to what I had been told was possible or true, I denied that experience. Many people

“Really?” I asked.

“Absolutely. I know just what you’re talking about.”

“Well, tell me about it. What happened?”

“I was sixteen years old,” Bob began, “and I had just learned to drive.”

“Uh-huh.”

“Well, one day I was approaching a major four-lane highway from a side road. At this particular stoplight there were hedges on both sides of the road.

So the visibility was bad, real bad. But it didn’t matter, because there was a stoplight, right?

“So, the light turns green, and I start to put my foot on the accelerator, when all of a sudden a voice says ‘Stop!’ Just like that.

Just, Stop! I mean, there’s no one else in the car, and I hear this voice, clear as a bell, and it just says, Stop!

“So I slam on the brakes. It’s purely an automatic reaction. I didn’t even think about it. I just slammed on the brake. And this guy . . . this car runs the light!

He’s coming from the left, I don’t even see him, because of the

hedge, before he gets right into the intersection, but he’s flying.

“If I hadn’t stopped, he’d have hit me right on the driver’s side.

I mean, this guy’s really moving and I’m a dead man out there.

There’s no doubt in my mind, I’d have been dead.

“Now you tell me what that voice was. Was that an angel, a guardian angel? Was that my guide? Was that God? I don’t know. I’m not even sure if there’s a difference. I mean, it’s all God manifesting, right? All I know is, I — heard — that — voice. Hey, it said only one word, but it saved my life.”

Divine Intervention: It Happens For All Of Us

So there you have it. I think everybody has at least one personal story about Divine Intervention. And I’m not surprised.

I told Bob that I wanted to do this book because I wanted to prove to the world that my experience in Conversations with God was not that unusual; that the only thing unusual about it was that I was willing to go public with

it, to talk about it. And, I guess, that I continued the experience so long, and kept a record of it, and so I could write a book about it.

But the experience itself, the experience of God communicating directly to us, that is very, very common.

Taming Anxiety the Natural Way

Anxiety is a common problem in today’s world. It can have many presentations but fundamentally it is getting stuck in a “fight-flight” operational mode.

So anxiety is not only a nervous system issue it is also adrenal as it is your adrenal glands that make your stress coping/”fightflight” hormones.

These hormones serve a purpose – our survival - but in the modern world we can’t “run from the tiger” as we might have in eons gone by. Instead our “tiger” lurks in our mind and body so the stress button stays switched on which can lead to persistent feelings of anxiety amongst other things.

HERBAL TREATMENT

I recommend first and foremost direct herbal treatment of anxiety states which can continue for the long term in most cases if required. There are a wide variety of adaptogenic herbs that restore adrenal balance as well as a wide variety of nervines herbs that support the nervous system. Some better - known

herbs in these categories include Rhodiola, Astragalus, Siberian ginseng for the adrenals and St John’s Wort, Kava and Lemon balm for the nervous system.

As there are considerations and contraindications herbal remedies are best obtained through a qualified Western herbalist.

BAD BUGS & POOR DIET

In addition to modern life with its multitude of stressors there are other factors that can contribute to mood disorders including anxiety.

These include an imbalanced gut micro-biome (eg bad bugs), nutritional deficiencies and poor diet and life-style choices.

Our gastrointestinal tract is surrounded my nervous system.

Called the enteric nervous system it is approximately the same size as the central nervous system and the two continually “talk” to one another via various hormones, neurotransmitters and other cell signalling molecules. It is not unusual for folks to recognise that they “channel stress to

the gut”- suffering cramps, poor digestion, poor stool formation etc. And just as we can channel stress this way the reverse is now known to be possible – bacterial imbalance in the gut can be associated with mood disorder, including anxiety. More and more research on the importance of a balanced micro-biome is being published in very reputable scientific journals. Of course, naturopaths have always know that as it is a basic tenet of Naturopathic Medicine that everything begins and ends in the gut. To re-baIance gut flora I always recommend one suffering anxiety undertake a gut rebalance program including specific probiotics, prebiotics and herbal anti-bacterials/anti-parasitics.

NUTRITIONAL DEFICIENCIES

Common nutritional deficiencies or imbalances have been linked to the condition – specifically Vitamin D, B Vitamins and Magnesium. A poor diet high in processed food, preservatives, bad fats and sugars can also contribute – wrecking the gut bug balance, overloading our detoxification pathways and potentiating food intolerances/reactivity. Poor management of blood sugars is a key trigger of many cases of anxiety – eating way to much carbohydrate, particularly simple ones like sugars, can trigger spikes in insulin so the blood sugar bounces up and down.

Switching to a plant based, high antioxidant, good fibre diet with adequate protein and good fat

can make a world of difference – not only for mood but in all areas of one’s health and wellbeing. If you have blood sugar balance issues I recommend eating a protein/good fat snack about every 2 hours between meals.

POOR SLEEP

Poor sleep patterns are other contributing factors. Erratic sleep, shift work, interrupted sleep all wear out the adrenals and the nervous system and make us more prone to stress reactivity and anxiety. Adopting good sleep hygiene is a must – a regular bedtime; a regular wake up time; no electronic screens at least an hour before bed and a very dark room all help reset the sleep/wake cycle.

Herbal medicines can work wonders – my favourites include California poppy, Jamaica dogwood, Corydalis and Skullcap (available from a qualified Western Herbalist). There are many varieties available in health food shops but I advise avoiding Valerian as it actually can have a reverse effect in about 30% of people. Taking magnesium before bed or a magnesium bath can also help as it soothes the nervous system and relaxes muscles.

Burning essential oils such as lavender can also help.

LIFE STYLE CHOICES

Undertaking some additional positive life style choices can have an enormous impact on anxiety. I recommend starting gentle Yoga or Tai Chi classes, getting a regular massage and

walking daily for at least 30 minutes. All these activities now have research supporting their ability to ameliorate stress and improve mood. There are a couple of very basic yoga breathing/ relaxation practices I highly recommend for calming the mind, body and spirit.

The first is called the Cosmic Hug – in a seated position place your fingers and palms in opposite armpits, thumbs resting on the chest. Close your eyes and count back from 30 – one count per your natural breath. Allow the natural gaps in the breath and don’t rush. By the time you get to zero you will feel much calmer.

The second is called the Bee Breath – in a seated position close eyes, place fingers gently over the eyes and cover your ears with your thumbs. You are blocking out light and sound so you can concentrate on the inner world. Breathing normally – breathe in and when you breath out hum for the entire exhalation.

Don’t rush and allow the natural gaps in your breath. Repeat for as long as you like but at least 1 minute. This breath will clear your mind of repetitive stressful or distressing thoughts and is very calming.

YOGA NIDRA

Finally, I recommend Yoga Nidra every day. This is a technique where your attention is rotated around the body in a lying position. The best way to learn this is in a yoga class but you can go on YouTube and find many guided versions. Just find

a voice you like and then practice the same one daily as this will train the body to relax and lowers baseline stress and anxiety like magic!

REVERSE SPEECH

THE VOICE OF THE SPIRIT

BY DAVID JOHN OATES, THE FOUNDER OF REVERSE SPEECH Did you know that the human spirit speaks in a clear audible voice that can be heard and understood by anyone? This is the remarkable claim of Reverse Speech, a new and emerging modality that promises to open up the human psyche in a way that has never been done before.

The basic claim of Reverse Speech is that language is bilevel, forwards and backwards, and if human speech is recorded and played backwards, mixed amongst the gibberish at regular intervals can be heard clear and precise grammatically correct sentences. These sentences reveal deeper thought processes of the speaker, and can come from multiple areas of the mind, conscious, unconscious and even deeper.

If a lie is spoken forwards, the backward message may correct that lie and communicate the truth. If someone is leaving facts out of their conversation, Reverse Speech may communicate

those facts. Although we cannot hear the backward messages consciously (unless of course we play a recording backwards), the unconscious mind receives the message and interprets it as human intuition, or that gut sense that there is more than what we are being told. At deeper levels, Reverse Speech will reveal thoughts that are below the level of consciousness. At these levels, the backward messages will detail, in metaphor, the workings of the unconscious mind and the reasons for current behaviour.

This information is of tremendous benefit in the therapeutic arena because it will give the therapist invaluable information as to why and how their clients are exhibiting current and sometimes undesirable behaviour.

However, probably the most exciting aspect of Reverse Speech is its ability to reveal the voice of the human spirit itself.

At its deepest levels, Reverse Speech reveals a constant dia-

logue between the spirit and the conscious mind. The Spirit is constantly talking to us, giving advice and guidance, reassurance and sometimes even warnings. People have tried many methods over the millennia to get in touch with the Spirit – prayer, meditation, hypnosis to name a few.

Some work to varying degrees but none are as accurate and as direct as Reverse Speech.

Imagine hearing your own spirit speaking to you in a voice you can understand. This possibility is now a reality. The Spirit does indeed speak – backwards.

For more than 30 years now I have been researching this phenomenon and I have amassed a wealth of research and information about the human psyche. Part of what I have learned is that the psyche has multiple layers and at the very centre of these layers resides the human soul. The soul and the spirit are two separate entities. The soul is timeless and survives physical death. One backward message I found on a client says , “The soul, I’ll live forever.” The Spirit, however, is connected to the Divine and it details spiritual matters and our lessons in life. It also offers us help and reassurance.

On one client who was having money problems, I found a backward message that said, “You’re frightened, lean on me.” This was his spirit talking directly to his conscious mind, basically saying, “I know you are afraid, just lean and trust in me.”

Messages like these are common backwards, and anyone who takes even a cursory glance

at Reverse Speech cannot deny the tremendous spiritual value that the phenomenon has. If its voice is taken seriously, it can open people up to tremendous knowledge and possibilities. The human psyche, including the Spirit contains all knowledge and knows all mysteries. Reverse Speech taps into what is sometimes called the collective unconscious, or a universal storehouse of all knowledge. Using this information, it can reveal the future, it can reveal why we do things, and it can even reveal deep spiritual truths. It is the voice of the infinite that we have always known exists but never knew before how to access it. Now we do.

Once Reverse Speech is studied and accepted by mainstream science, its existence will have a significant impact on society. It essentially means that the human mind is no longer private. Noone can lie ever again, no husband can hide an affair and no employee can hide company theft.

In regards to human behaviour it takes the guess work out of therapy. No longer will it be necessary to spend months in therapy to find the cause of an issue or problem.

HOW CAN I CHANNEL?

There are four levels of channelling – Light Trance is where the Deities stand close behind you and gently influence your thoughts, in Medium Level Trance they often overshadow you and usually you sense them influencing your speech -most good psychic readers work at this level. In Trance Channelling the Deities energy is in the physical body of the Channel so your voice will change as you speak the words of each Deity. Many people do not like to think about it or do not know enough to consider this, but there is an unacknowledged problem in the world, which mankind has struggled with for centuries: the possession of the living by ghosts. Ghosts are the souls of people who have died but who have not passed through to the other side, often because they do not realize they are no longer alive. By remaining among the living and usurping the energy of those they inhabit, ghosts, aka spirit attachments, become the cause of many common conditions, such as anxiety, depression, suicide, mood swings, drug and alcohol addiction, mental illness, cancer and other physical ailments.

For the last few decades I have removed ghosts, aka spirit attachments, from tens of thousands of people remotely around the world. A lot of my time is also spent speaking at spiritual events and healthy living expos in the U.S. and Europe. Below are a few of the questions that I am asked the most.

Q: When did you first realize you had a gift?

WP: When I was eight years old in Poland I was riding on a street train and saw a woman on the tracks. It appeared as if she was trying to warn the train of some kind of danger. I yelled and pleaded for the conductor to stop.

I was so insistent that he eventually stopped the train, but he and the other passengers saw nothing on the tracks. Of course, they were angry and irritated by me. A little while later, I alone saw the woman, obviously a spirit, and again I begged them to halt the train. The conductor ignored me, but then he saw something on the tracks. When the conductor got out of the train, he found a baby bundled on the tracks. It was cold, but still alive. If he hadn't have stopped it never would have survived.

Q: What was your family’s response to your abilities?

WP: They were conservative Catholics in Poland. They alternated between not believing and seeing my psychic abilities as a curse. To this day I regret that my parents didn't understand me and that I had to struggle with my world on my own. Today, however, I am able to realize that they simply wanted to shield me. They saw my abilities as eccentricities and hoped very much that I would grow out of them.

Q: What changed that for you?

WP: I realized that being able to see spirits and communicate with them is a gift and the ability to be able to help relieve people of so much pain and misery is a wonderful reward.

Q: What are the most common ailments caused by spirit attachments?

WP: Two of the most common ailments people come to me with

are chronic fatigue and emotional disturbances. Chronic fatigue is one of the most common signs that a person has a spirit attachment. Ghosts steal energy from weak people, sick people, old people, and people in a state of alcoholic or narcotic dependence, sleep-deprived people, anxious, depressed or frightened people. In other words, people who are already short of energy themselves.

Ghosts’ energies are centered around emotions, passions, and desires. They are incapable of distancing themselves from these states. If a person often experiences negative emotions like anger, hatred, envy, jealousy, vengeance, desire for revenge, or aggressiveness, then it's very likely that they have a spirit attachment. Once I remove the spirit attachment, these negative emotions disappear.

Other common ailments that can indicate a spirit attachment are intrusive or racing thoughts, anxiety, addictions (alcohol, drugs, food, gambling, sex), being overweight or underweight, depression, suicidal thoughts, and mood swings. Many times, my clients emphasized that I was their last hope, that they had tried literally everything. Doctors, medicines or treatments were all ineffective.

Q: How does the spirit detachment process work?

WP: I run a diagnosis first. I do this remotely. If I find a spirit attachment issue, then I conduct the removal process, which involves three months of working with the person possessed, but mostly the time is spent helping the spirit resolve its attachment and to move on from the living.

Many people call me a psychologist of souls because I help the spirit attachment come to grips with letting go of the living.

Q: You are also a licensed therapist with an M.A. in Psychology and a B.A. in Parapsychology and PhD. in Philosophy. Obviously, this education is not needed for what you do. How does it shape or influence your work?

WP: My formal education and psychotherapy training combined with my natural and innate gift allows me to better understand and help those in need by understanding how their minds work and how to counsel the living and the spirits as well.

An appendix is a useless bodily organ apparently, according to medical science. Yet it resides in each of our bodies. We were all born with an appendix. Every single one of us.

So hypothetically, what if that organ played a critical role in understanding the metaphysical nature of life here on earth? For instance, as if it were a brand or stamp of the intrinsic metaphysical nature of earth’s DNA, carried within that significant yet symbolic and useless piece of anatomy. In other words a ‘message’ from far beyond the usual barriers of time and space, sitting in a form within us. Imagine please, each soul ‘shipped’ off to earth to occupy bodies that carry the code, a ‘stamp’ of the realm and denomination of which it is to inhabit i.e ‘Those with appendix – to earth, those with sound frequency device - to Pleides ... and so on.’ In other words, its not a mistake.

WHY? There are no coincidences, ever. This is a deliberate Universe.

The Hopi Indians for example intentionally create a miniscule flaw in the bowls and artefacts they create – which to the ‘naked’ eye, go totally unnoticed by the general public.

When one views that artefact one simply sees it as a whole and a thing of beauty.

And yet, one is told it has this imperfection. Exactly as we have a redundant organ – the appendix.

Again why?

Because we are living/existing on a planet of duality that intrinsically brings with it ‘imperfection’. i.e you can’t know one thing without knowing the other...you only know happiness because you have experienced sadness.

Beauty versus ugliness, peace versus war , and so on.

SOUL TO SOUL PSYCHIC-MEDIUM READINGS

Therefore, to all intents and purposes, it cannot be called a ‘perfect’ world. So why do we ‘kill’ ourselves, one way or the other trying to be in, or bring in, perfection into our lives?

How about entertaining at least then the thought that nothing here on earth was ever meant to be perfect in the first instance?

Perfect Life, perfect body, perfect circumstances etc etc. Life here was always going to contain ‘flaws’ – because that’s how we learn. From that point springs all else. Full stop.

Perhaps the lesson here, or simply a way forward, is to forsake chasing the ‘perfect’ dream of having this or that, of being this or that – to the extent of even choosing to undergo unnecessary surgical procedures just to that end. Perhaps the thing is to simply decide to opt out of the illusion of perfection and accept that things, whatever they may be, are just simply the way they are. IT IS AS IT IS. Once one is able then to fully and viscerally accept all of the nuances within one’s life; to openly , utterly &

wholeheartedly embrace one’s life warts and all; so finally and completely in each and every aspect - leading you towards feeling free, peaceful, flowing exactly like water does over rocks and boulders -- then and only then you can begin to feel ridiculously present joy in your every day plus total surrender into whatever it is that may present itself in your life. All of which you have been searching for all along = Perfection.

Many of you will remember that I often mention the power of love and going out in love. I put this in to practice every day in life.

Let me start with a couple of everyday situations that sometimes get to us when the day seems to start badly. Maybe we are running late and our anger or frustration levels are rising before we set foot in our car. And then every driver seems to be discourteous, not giving way or cutting in or blocking us and so on. I find that if I start to mimic their actions the situation gets worse.

Most of the time I do remember to stop, breathe and in my mind send out love to every one driving on the road. I visualise them all doing the right thing and being courteous. When the opportunity arises, I show courtesy and smile at other drivers or let them in front of me. Within a very short time I find that other drivers are also being courteous and the way opens up smoothly.

A much more satisfying solution to something simple and it can therefore change the tone of how the whole day works.

Another day to day example is the car that won’t start or the computer that is frozen, the phone won’t work or some other problem with the vast array or electric or electronic objects that we own. I find if I stop and send love to the offending object – yes even inanimate objects! - next minute they start working properly. Tell them they can do it and tell yourself that the solution is there. It works almost always for me and reminds me to stay calm.

My car responds wonderfully to being treated kindly too.

These are small examples of simple situations but imagine if we apply this principle to everything that happens to us in our life!

People can and do think more positively in every area of their life with the right guidance and help. If we can change the simple things in our life just know that this applies even more so to the circumstances that we sometimes wonder how it will ever be possible to get past.

Some of those include financial circumstances that change for the worse, health challenges large or small, being in danger of losing a job, hating the circumstances of our personal relationships or even our fear about what is happening in politics or natural or human made disasters. We wonder if it will just get worse and worse and we sit and imagine all the things that can go wrong in the future. By focussing on all that is wrong and can go wrong and visualising all of the even worse scenarios, we are attracting more of those circumstances to us.

Look at how to change those by applying love and visualising what we truly want in our life.

This might mean the need to change erroneous beliefs that we have that encourage us to give up or to only see the worst possible scenarios. That was how my life used to run but now I stay always on the path of love. Know that there are solutions and there are people who can guide you through the process to success!
