By tragic coincidence, this was the same day that the “Titanic” sank on its maiden voyage. The Sóller railway is a narrow-gauge railway, with a detail-oriented character and craft-based maintenance. One of its main attractions is the evocative route it runs along, crossing the natural barrier of the Sierra de Alfàbia mountain range, 2.8 km wide and at an altitude of 496 metres. To accomplish this, the railway runs through thirteen tunnels with lengths ranging from 33 to 2,876 metres, across several bridges and a viaduct with five arches, and round many bends, to the delight of passengers, especially the smaller ones.

These races are a great attraction for people from all over the world’ of the fashionable destinations for both professional and amateur running enthusiasts. The trials take place entirely in Palma de Mallorca, and include marathons, triathlons, Nordic walking and endurance tests, whilst the distances vary from 5 to 515 kilometres for trials that demand a high level of physical preparation. Two completely new races are taking place in the city this year: the K42 TransMallorcaRun, an extreme race which will be held from 19th to 22nd November in Palma and other places on Mallorca, covering a total of 400 kilometres: and the Ultra515 Europa, an endurance event lasting three days (from 10th to 12th September), which includes an 84-kilometre running race, a 10-kilometre swimming race and 420 kilometres of cycling.

A century ago the artist Santiago Rusiñol was already calling for the conservation of the windmills’ sails tell their story, built up from wind, stone and clay. A couple of words from Santiago Rusiñol, one of the main painters and greatest lovers of this land and its circumstances: “A mill is something as beautiful and venerable as any other historical building. If, instead of everything being today orientated towards the utility of things, everything was orientated towards quality, we believe that the few wind mills remaining, as a memory of what they were, should be classified as national monuments.Also, instead of having a miller inside, they should have a curator, because there are curators that keep things which are less worthy and which lack all beauty”. For centuries, mills, besides being majestic ambassadors of art, they were an essential element of the Majorcan economy. There was no village (today, unfortunately there already is) without a mill field, both for obtaining flour and producing energy from the wind.All lined up and thoroughly committed, by the wise agricultural minds, to harvest the fruitful gusts of the god Aeolus’ breath.

Schließlich erhalten wir auch viel weniger wichtige Dinge, die zudem nicht mal schön sind.“ Noch bis vor kurzem hatte jedes Dorf auf Mallorca seine Windmühle(n), entweder zur Herstellung von Mehl oder zur Erzeugung von Windenergie, nach weiser Bauernregel in einer Linie ausgerichtet, auf dass Äolus, der Gott der Winde, seine Freude an ihnen habe.

The festivals of Sant Joan, or Saint John, are comprised of a series of events that take place over approximately one week, the busiest, most popular ones being 23 rd and 24 th June. The Sunday before Saint John’s day is seen as the beginning of the fiesta. The members of the council, or Junta de Caixers, meet at the house of the Caixer Senyor. This is the day when one can see l’Homo des Be, who represents Saint John the Baptist, running barefoot through the streets of Ciutadella with a white lamb on his shoulders. This takes place on the eve of Saint John’s day when Ciutadella is already full to bursting of visitors from all over. In the afternoon, the “Caragol des

This entrance was where the soldiers stood to face enemies and is now an incomparable setting for open-air concerts. It is of Isidor Macabich, a priest and historian who delved into the roots of the island in an unprecedented fashion. Sitting in this spot he greets visitors, beckoning them to take a break to look around and savour Ibiza’s historical and cultural legacy. The construction of the Ibiza’s Renaissance wall took place as part of the plan to modernise the Mediterranean coastal defences promoted by Charles I and Philip II of Spain, in order to maintain and defend the territories of the Spanish crown in an age of war with France and the Ottoman Empire. When the Turkish and Barbary pirates fell into decline and the island ceased to be the target of new attacks, the acropolis was left standing for posterity, as testimony of that period. It is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The underground constructions, considered to be of great value in terms of town planning, are comprised of the shopping galleries of Avenida de la Luz (now known as the Triangle). SENSIMAR IBIZA BEACH RESORT OPERATED BY GRUPOTEL

Modernity, elegance and quality in Portinatx Modernidad, elegancia y calidad en Portinatx Modern, elegant und höchste Qualität in Portinatx Sensimar Ibiza Beach Resort has inagurated after having been fully-renovated. The adults only hotel now has 190 rooms, distinguishing between singles, doubles, doubles with sea view, superior doubles, junior suites and premium junior suites. Without doubt the eight spectacular junior suites with private jaccuzi on the terrace lend more exclusivity to the complex.As well as a modern reception area, decorated in turquoise, green, white and pink tones, the restaurant has also been renovated with first-class décor and a modern show cooking section. The new swimming pool and garden area provide even greater comfort for guests of the hotel.

Sensimar Ibiza Beach Resort ha sido inaugurado después de la reforma total en sus instalaciones. El hotel adults only dispone ahora de 190 habitaciones, distinguiendo entre individual, doble, doble vista mar, doble superior, junior suite y junior suite premium. Sin duda, las ocho espectaculares junior suites con jaccuzi privado en la terraza aportan más exclusividad al complejo. Además de una moderna recepción, en colores turquesa, verde, blanco y rosa, también se ha renovado el restaurante con decoración de primer nivel y un moderno show cooking. La nueva piscina y la zona de jardín aportan todavía más confort al hotel.

Das Sensimar Ibiza Beach Resort ist eröffnet worden nachdem es komplett renoviert wurde. Bei den 190 Zimmern des Adults Only Hotels können die Gäste zwischen Einzel- und Doppelzimmern, Doppelzimmern mit Meerblick, Superior Doppelzimmer, Junior Suite und Junior Suite Premium wählen. Die acht spektakulären Junior Suiten mit individuellem Jaccuzi auf der Terrasse tragen zweifelsohne zu einer exklusiveren Ausrichtung des Hotelkomplexes bei. Das Hotel beeindruckt mit einer modernen Rezeption in Türkis, Grün, Weiß und Rosa. Das renovierte Restaurant bietet modernes Show Cooking in erlesenem Interieur.
