365 Photography Days Phil Gould launched his book 365 days of photography at Marwell over the weekend and the zoological park giraffe could not resist a quick preview! Visit Phil's website for a taster of the images which appear in the book. http://365photographydays.com/index.html

I have been doing photography for 28 yrs now and was born in Southampton,UK and lived in Awbridge until I was 16 years old before moving to N. Baddesley and owning Videomania for many years. How the book became reality ? Four years ago I was in a plane that crashed into the sea just off Hallo Bay in Alaska. The passengers all survived but having a near - death experience changes your view on life. Inspired by the movie of the same name, I put together a 'bucket list' of things to do and places to see before I die. I had dreamed for many years of travelling and seening the wonders of the world, so when I was made redundant I decided to go around the world in 365 days! 365 Photography Days is therefore the story of my adventures and, as a photographer, I set myself the challenge of taking a definitive image every day. Come and join me on my travels as, together, we explore the places I visited. Naturally I hope you enjoy the book as much as I enjoyed taking them. 365 Photography Days Tells the story of award-winning, freelance photographer Phil Gould, as he travels the globe in search of adventure. At the outset he sets himself the challenge of capturing a definitive image for each day, and these stunning photographs are accompanied by a journal-style commentary of the author s journey.

This is also a practical guide to photography techniques with hints and tips from an expert. Each day of the journey includes a photo tip, giving advice about everything from lighting techniques and camera settings, to groupings that work and images that sell. From the majestic wildlife of the African plains and the awe-inspiring beauty of Antelope Canyon, Arizona, to the shanty towns of Rio de Janeiro and the plight of South African orphans, Phil details his journey with a refreshing honesty, humour and great compassion.
