Why some people succeed and others fail What is your motivation in your life? Are you simply trying to keep your head above water? Pay the rent, buy food and pay your bills or are you motivated to do something in your life. In the early 1900’s there was a man that most people probably has never heard of. His name was Samuel Langley. He had a goal to build the first flying machine (airplane). He was a brilliant scientist, a professor in mathematics. His friends were Alexander Graham Bell and Andrew Carnegie. He had the attention of the US Government, the media and everyone followed him to see what his next accomplishment was. The war department gave him $50,000 to help him develop his plane. He assembled some of the brightest minds in the world to help him with his project. He had what we would consider the recipe for success; money, friends, influence. A few hundred miles away, there were two brothers who were trying to accomplish the same thing as Langley: build the first plane. They had nothing. No money, no government contract, no one following them around and no high level connections. The difference between these men was that the Wright brothers had something special. They had a dream! They knew why it was important to build the plane. The Wright brothers were true scientists. Langley was consumed with acquiring prestige. In other words he didn’t have the desire or passion to do what it took to be successful. Langley wanted to be recognized but the Wright brothers wanted to make a difference. Whatever you do in life, you must have passion. You must have a deep desire to want to make a difference. It is the same principle of whatever you do in life. You can take any job and have a passion and desire to become the very best and you will stand out and will be recognized. Most people go with the flow and never go beyond what is expected of them. They have internal complaints of why do I not make more money or why can’t I get promoted. You have to be passionate. When you make a difference your efforts surface to the top. Langley never accomplished his goal of developing the first airplane. It was the Wright brothers. The wright brothers inspired others to follow them. Langley seemed to have everything to make himself a success but he was motivated by the wrong things. When he failed to make his plane operate, he simply gave up. How many people give up because they stop believing? He cared too much about what others thought about him. You can make a difference for yourself in 2015, if you stop worrying about what others think and begin to focus on what you want to accomplish! Carl Townsend 10 • Employee Stay Connected

Team: The New Year is here, we have entered into 2015 to serve as our Lord guides and directs us. I want to remind you how important your job here at Inservice America is. You were called to work here for a reason, although you may not know what the reason is at this current moment, in time the Lord will reveal your reason to you, but in his time. You save many lives and you are the voice that callers need to hear to strengthen their walk with the Lord. The material they order will be something that will encourage them to fill that void that they are missing in their heart that only our Lord can fill. Your prayer that you pray with your callers, may be the confirmation that they need to believe that their Lord has forgiven them of their sins. Your salvation prayer you pray along with your callers, is what leads them to be able to pass through the golden gates. Your job is so very important, it is also so rewarding. To know that you are saving souls, that is powerful; what a wonderful reason to smile as you walk in for your shift. I want to remind you how IMPORTANT it is to always read your emails each and every shift. This is how we communicate with you anything that the ministry wants you to know. I also post updates on your internet that I encourage you to review as well. It cuts back on your error rate and also increases your performance as well. If you every have a question about an email or update, please ask it as soon as you see it posted so we can ensure that you have the correct information. I thank you for all your hard work you do on all clients and your dedication that you give. I enjoy the feedback that some of you send me about your calls or your praise reports. If there is anything that I am able to do to assist you, please let me know. Now onto some updates for JMM and TP...

HAVING THE TIME OF YOUR LIFE by Dean Pruitt

Wow 2015, can you believe that it is here already? Whether you saw 2015 coming so quickly or not is irrelevant, but to realize it is here just proves that time sure can fly‌whether you are having fun or not. Time will continue to have this effect on us as humans because time is a constant, and depending on how you are looking at it, that could be a good thing or a bad thing. Time will forever continue ticking along in a forward direction, second by second, and no one but God can cause time to: stop, start, or move in any other direction. Until someone on the planet reveals a working time machine that can manipulate any of the factors of time, God will still remain the one in control, and that is something worth praising Him for. Even though we may have no ability to change any of the factors of time itself, the fact that time is a constant means there are some things about it that CAN work in our favor. You see, whether you consider yourself rich or poor, God has given us all the same 24 hours of time every day. He has also given us a free-will choice to do with it what we wish, this means that God entrusts us all equally with time. Employee Stay Connected • 19

As a double bonus, God's gift of a free-will choice empowers us to be able to do "All things through Christ". This means not only can we affect the here and now for our own lives, but how we treat these moments can positively affect the lives of others around us. Certainly our choices will always have an effect on our future, but the future starts today, right now, not tomorrow. I absolutely love the expression, "Yesterday is his-story, tomorrow is not promised, and today is a gift, that's why it's called the present! Jesus always used His time on Earth wisely as He not only taught by example but also through the use of parables. He used real life situations that people then and now could understand and relate to. Never once did He expect anyone to go back in time and change something they could not, but His Holy Spirit today still wants us to just be obedient and use our time wisely as He did. One wise parable that Jesus taught is found in Luke 19. The scene begins in verse 1 when Jesus was passing through the streets of Jericho and multitudes of people were following Him because of what they had heard of Him. All were there for different reasons; some wanted healing while others just wanted to get a look at Him. One in particular was a man named Zacchaeus. Zacchaeus was not liked by all in the city of Jericho, mostly because he was the chief tax collector and quite rich to boot. In addition to that he was said to be of very short stature, possibly a dwarf or even a midget. None the less, Zacchaeus must have been a wise man too, when he heard of Jesus coming he ran ahead of the crowds and as quickly as he could he climbed up in a sycamore tree just to see if he

could get a glimpse of Jesus. As you may already know from this scripture or even from the Sunday school song that tells of this event, Jesus walked right up to that sycamore tree and told Zacchaeus to come down, because He was going to his house that day. The way Jesus specifically stated it in verses 9 & 10 was, "Today salvation has come to this house... for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost." While there in Zacchaeus' house, Jesus spoke one of my favorite parables. Starting in verse 12 He said: “A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and to return. 13 So he called ten of his servants, delivered to them ten minas (Greek mina or Hebrew minah are small units of measure equaling about 2 pounds), and said to them, ‘Do business till I come.’ 14 But his citizens hated him, and sent a delegation after him, saying, ‘We will not have this man to reign over us.’ 15 “And so it was that when he returned, having received the kingdom, he then commanded these servants, to whom he had given the money, to be called to him, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading. 16 Then came the first, saying, ‘Master, your mina has earned ten minas.’ 17 And he said to him, ‘Well done, good servant; because you were faithful in a very little, have authority over ten cities.’ 18 And the second came, saying, ‘Master, your mina has earned five minas.’ 19 Likewise he said to him, ‘You also be over five cities.’ 20 “Then another came, saying, ‘Master, here is your mina, which I have kept put away in a handkerchief. 21 For I feared you, because you are an austere man (severe or strict in manner). You collect what you did not deposit, and reap what you did not sow.’ 22 and he said to him, ‘Out of your own mouth I will judge you, you wicked servant. You knew that I was an austere man, collecting what

Employee Stay Connected • 21

I did not deposit and reaping what I did not sow. 23 Why then did you not put my money in the bank, that at my coming I might have collected it with interest?’ 24 “And he said to those who stood by, ‘Take the mina from him, and give it to him who has ten minas.’ 25 But they said to him, ‘Master, he has ten minas.’ 26 ‘For I say to you, that to everyone who has will be given; and from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him...'” Though this story sounds like the parable of the Talents found in Matthew 25, it is not the same story; it is very different in a few ways. Yes, both talents & minas are units of measurement used in money exchange, but a mina is only 1/60th of the weight of one talent. Coins did exist back then, but a lot of currency or money was done in trade of different forms of precious metals or material goods. Weights were very important and while a mina was only about 2 pounds, a single talent was about 110 pounds. In both parables forms of money were entrusted to servants while the master left for a period of time, and in both stories the slothful servants had what was given to them taken away. What makes these quite different from one another was in the reward. In the parable of Talents from Matthew 25, the servants were rewarded with more money (talents), but in this parable in Luke 19 they started with a relatively small amount of money (mina) and were rewarded the rule over entire cities! Would you say that being put in charge of an entire city is quite a step up from properly investing about 2 pounds of coins? Jesus said it best in the parable, ‘Well done, good servant; because you were faithful in a very little, have authority over ten cities.’ As Believers our Heavenly Father will always provide our needs, but He also wants to bless us with the desires of our heart. It is evident that He is a rewarder but He does NOT base reward on our performance, He bases it

22 • Employee Stay Connected

on our obedience. Because we all have different skills, knowledge and experiences, it is impossible for us all to perform at the same level, but we can all hear His still small voice and do what He says. When we do, He sees our heart’s intent and rewards us with blessings, many of which words cannot contain. Conversely when we do not obey, we allow curses to spread throughout the areas of our lives where the blessings would have been. Obedience will always bring blessings and conversely disobedience will always bring curses. As much as we would love to, none of us can get into that proverbial time machine and go backwards to change even a single second that has already passed in our lives, but we can all still get into the time machine of life right now and move forward one second at a time. William Penn said that, "Time is what we want most, but what we use worst". God's very word in Ephesians 5:15 & 16 instructs us to "...walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil." Until Jesus returns He has commanded us all in verse 13 to, “Engage in business until I come.” Our “business” of life is not just to be busy, but to engage in what God created us for, which is to seek those who are lost and lead them to Jesus Christ who humbled himself on this Earth for one single purpose, “…to seek and to save that which was lost." What will you have to say when you stand before Him and He asks you what you did with the tiny little seconds of life that He gave to you? Use every second wisely this year. Start right now and you will have the TIME of your life!

Happy New Year!

A Fish Story

by John Marfink

Four Mile Creek isn’t much to look at. It’s one of those little Appalachian mountain streams that run fast and cool no matter how hot the summer day is. It’s made for old men and young boys. In most places, it’s small enough for a skinny eleven year old boy to step across without even dragging a toe in the water. It’s also one of those mountain streams full of trout. Big trout, shiny trout, sparkling trout and most plentiful and the most fun to catch, brook trout. There is one other trout in that creek, one that has a legend attached to him: Old Brownie. At eleven years of age, I was pretty convinced that Old Brownie had been around longer than me. My neighbor Charlie Devore, so old even his wrinkles had wrinkles, had been trying to catch him for more than sixty years or thereabouts, depending on how much he’d had to drink out of his porch jug. I’d sit at his feet on a hot summer’s day drinking the cold Coca-Cola he’d fished out of the cooler he kept in the spring house. He’d tip the jug up with both hands and take a swallow and then we’d talk fishing. The short version of those multiple days: we’d both been trying to catch Brownie for most of our lives. At 90, Charlie had a lot more experience than I did.

Neither of us had any fancy gear, Charlie used an old bamboo pole he’d found one spring along the Four Mile creek after one of its typical floods. I used a willow branch I’d whittled down and just kept the string wrapped around the end. Like I said, the Four Mile wasn’t much of a creek, so’s there no problem with sneaking alongside the bank and flicking your wrist a couple of times to shake loose a few feet of line. We both used earthworms, sometimes a grub or two, but we felt using cheese or fancy lures was a form of cheating. If a fish was so dumb it got caught on some fancy shiny thing, well then it probably wasn’t worth eating anyhow. And cheese balls was just wrong.

My favorite place was about a mile by road from my house and maybe two or three if you walked the creek bank. Like I said, the Four Mile was all Appalachian. There was an old sycamore that had been trying to fall down and go to sleep for more than thirty years according to Charlie. Surrounding the base of it was a wonderful patch of beautiful moss, so soft and green Charlie said it must have been brought here by the wee people of Ireland. The creek wove its way through the open roots and if you were on the opposite bank, and the sun was right, you could see Old Brownie in there, staying cool and just daring you to come make a fool of yourself. I liked to climb up onto some of the big old branches and just wedge myself in there, let my line dangle down a bit, take my shirt off for a pillow and lean back to watch the world and that creek go by. This day, it was just too pretty to resist and I fell asleep. I’d probably done a Rip Van Winkle, but something startled me awake. I felt this dry cool feeling on my lap, sort of rubbing itself over my bare chest. I screamed like a little girl and everything I had on me, including myself, went into the water below. I just had time to look a three-foot blacksnake in the eye and feel him say, “Hey, I was just trying to warm up a bit. Your skin was nice and toasty”, then he swam quickly to shore. My pride and myself hit the water, butt-side down. Splashing myself to my feet, I heard the sound of laughter. Standing on the shoreline, sidestepping a very upset black snake, stood Charlie. In the middle of his laughter he stopped and swore a blue streak and pointed. I looked all around, thinking maybe I’d left an arm or something up in the tree. He pointed to my feet and said, “Ya finally got him. Who knew all you had to do was use a three foot black snake as bait.” Employee Stay Connected • 27

I looked down and there, tangled in my broken pole and line was the heartbreaker of Four Mile creek, Old Brownie. A 12 pound brown trout if he was an ounce. I think he was so ashamed of being caught, he just lay there in the water, slowly swiping his tail back and forth. As I looked down, any excitement at catching him quickly faded. This just didn’t seem right. I felt Charlie looking at me. “It don’t seem right, Charlie. I didn’t really catch him. More like he caught me.” Charlie nodded. “Looks like you’re learnin’ what being a fisherman’s all about.” I nodded. I sighed. I carefully reached down and began to untangle him. After I had removed a couple of loops the big brown flipped his tail once and dove free, heading back for his hideout under the mossy bank. I waded onto the shoreline and looked at my broken pole and snarled line. Holding back

my tears, I said, “Guess I better untangle all this before I put my thumb into the hook.” After checking for the snake, I sat down on the sand and began the arduous task of straightening my fishing line. As I pulled the hook carefully free of the biggest snarl and began threading it through the mess, I heard a thunk. Sticking out of the sand a few feet from me was Charlie’s bone-handled jackknife. “Reckon you’ll need to carve yourself a new pole off’n that beech tree over there. When you’re done, you keep that knife. You never know when a man needs a good knife. And today, son. You were a real man.” That creek is still there, still fast, still cold and still full of trout. The bone-handled knife has long since lost its handle, but the blade’s still sharp. And Charlie’s long gone. But tucked under that mossy bank, I’m betting there still lies a fat brown trout, slowly swishing his tail against the current, waiting for another summer.

14 Ideas & Goals For The New Year 1. Get specific about your weight-loss goal It’s one thing to say, “I want to lose weight.” It’s a whole other thing to say, “I’m going to lose weight by jogging Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and by only eating fast food once a month.” Make specific goals for yourself. They don’t have to be big; simply walking home from work instead of taking the bus is a step in the right direction. As Judith Beck, president of Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy, noted in a 2010 issue of Psychology Today, “motivate yourself every day by reading a long list of reasons that you want to lose weight every morning. Pull out this list at vulnerable times of the day, as well.” Meet your goals in increments. Instead of vowing to lose 15 pounds by July, vow to lose 2 or 3 pounds each month. “The key to resolving this is being specific,” Melissa Burkley, an associate professor of social psychology at Oklahoma State University, told Time. “Making your resolution more concrete allows you to better monitor it. If you fall behind, you know.” 2. Get your finances in order – and keep them that way First of all, don’t spend money you don’t have. Has that credit card balance added up? Shred the plastic. Making too many compulsive purchases? Realize you don’t need half the stuff you think you do. Eating out too much? Get a cookbook and visit a grocery store. Also, start saving. Set up an automatic monthly transfer from your paycheck into your savings account.

30 • Employee Stay Connected

3. Clear out the clutter Clutter and stress go hand-in-hand. That week’s pile of mail on the dining room table is actually a bundle of stress. That staircase riddled with stacks of clothes, laundry detergent bottles in various states of emptiness, and workout gear? Also stress. Clear the clutter. Take the time to purge your apartment or home of things that no longer serve you, and organize the things that do. Set up three large boxes in your living room. Separate everything by things to “keep,” things to “donate” and things to “throw away.” Invest in tools to help you get organized. A simple book shelf or closet organizer is a good place to start. Get a shoe rack and a clothes hamper. It’s much easier to get out of the house in the morning when you know exactly where your house keys are and don’t have to go diving into a pile of dirty laundry to find them. 4. Be more positive “Positive thinking doesn’t mean that you keep your head in the sand and ignore life’s less pleasant situations,” Mayo Clinic notes. “Positive thinking just means that you approach the unpleasantness in a more positive and productive way. You think the best is going to happen, not the worst.” Being positive can do wonders for your psyche. It can also have a desirable effect on your overall health. Studies have shown a correlation between positive thinking and increased life span, lower rates of depression, better resistance to the common cold, lower levels of stress and better coping skills during adversity. It’s as simple as looking in the mirror and saying, “I love my hair today!” instead of, “That zit on my cheek is hideous!” Give it a shot! You’ve got nothing to lose, right? 5. Turn your smartphone off more often Apps are addicting, games are fun, and has anyone else noticed how other people’s faces just aren’t as interesting as my smartphone screen? If friends constantly call you out on your iPhone addiction, maybe your New Year’s resolution for 2015 should be to put the phone down and just … talk. We get it; the second that cell phone glows with a new message, it’s hard to stifle the intrigue. But really, it can wait. Engage with the people around you and pledge to give the messages and emails a rest. Give yourself a time frame; “For the next hour, I will not pick up my phone for any reason, other than if Grandma calls.” At the end of that hour, when there’s a lull in the conversation, allow yourself to quickly check those awaiting text messages. See if any require your immediate response; if they don’t, let them wait! It won’t kill the person on the other end. We promise.

6. Support local mom-and-pop shops Consumers hold power. Small businesses rely on them! Get to know the small business owners in your neighborhood and support their shops. It’s a great way to get involved in your community. “The tangible benefits of shopping Mom and Pop are well documented: You skip the drive to the mall or superstore, hence saving carbon emissions, and those fruit-stand peaches use about one-tenth the energy to produce than the ones shipped across the globe to the WalMart,” Bloomberg Businessweek notes. “Studies show shoppers at local produce markets have many more conversations than shoppers in chain supermarkets. Besides being less lonely, it’s surely more relaxing when your kid is munching on a carrot proffered by the farmer instead of screaming for Starbursts at the superstore checkout.” 7. Be more honest Be honest with yourself. Be more honest with others. Just, be more honest! Honesty goes a long way in relationships. Even if you have to be the bearer of bad news, it’s best to get something off your chest. 8. Donate regularly to a charity It’s just a good thing to do. Life is a series of expenses -- student loans add up, urban rents have skyrocketed, gas is never cheap -- but if you can cut out just one night a month of going out for drinks and dinner, you’ll be able to spend that $40 or $50 on something good. 9. Watch less TV It’s simple: read more. Reading will expand your vocabulary, and give you something else to talk about at dinner parties other than the dog or the weather. Maybe you’re not a novel kind of person. In the age of social media, where 140 characters seems like a lifetime of words, it’s hard to have the attention span for something with 300 or more pages. We get it. Instead, subscribe to a weekly magazine or two. The Atlantic, Wired, The New Yorker, Vanity Fair all have great long-form articles that will keep you entertained and informed. Or, why not get a book of poems? Or short stories?

10. Get a hobby It doesn’t have to be an expensive one. Do comic books tickle your fancy? What about board games? Or how about bird watching? Visit a local hobby shop or search for hobby groups in your area. 11. Get more fresh air It’s important to get outside more often. According to Prevention, kids who get more “vitamin G,” a shorthand way of saying more time in green spaces, have less stress, perform better in school and have fewer ADHD symptoms. “We may also exercise and socialize more in nature -- activities with proven health benefits,” Frances Kuo, director of the Landscape and Human Health Laboratory at the University of Illinois, told Prevention. Find ways to spend more time outdoors. Pick up gardening, or get a dog. A dog is as good an excuse as any to take a walk around the park. Or, find day trips you can do outside the city. 12. Don’t neglect chores You’re too old to leave dirty dishes in the sink or to let the windowsills collect dust. Chores aren’t fun, but at this stage in your life, it’s time to suck it up. If your place is cleaner, you’re more likely to want to host friends and family for dinner, or invite others over for a weekend cup of coffee. Not to mention that keeping a tidy home is better for your health. 13. Get more sleep You will never regret a good night’s sleep. Beyond improving under eye circles and boosting alertness, adequate sleep is essential to a healthy lifestyle. Plenty of rest is known to boost memory, spur creativity, reduce inflammation, improve performance at work and school, lower stress and improve attention, among other things. College was for energy shots and all-nighters. Adulthood is all about balance. 14. Eat healthier We don’t need to remind you of the benefits of eating healthier. Make a choice to develop better eating habits. A simple rule of thumb is this: When you look at your plate, you should see multiple colors -- greens, oranges, purples, blues and yellows. Eat your greens, control your portions and, most importantly, dare to try new things.

A Brand New Year

With 2014 fading into our rear-view mirror, and a brand new year ahead of us, let us take a moment and reflect on the life we’ve lived and what we hope for in the future. Personally, this New Year I am filled with joy as I reflect on the year I just experienced. There were great blessings, and great trials. There were moments that I will always remember with fondness, and others that I will reflect on as great learning experiences not to be repeated. As I look back and think of the ups and downs of the past year, I’m reminded that all of life is a great mystery. We are never promised a certain number of days or a particular set of events. More often than not, something unpredicted will pop up in a way never expected. Sometimes events go as planned, but sometimes (or more often-times) they don’t. It’s the moments like this that should remind us how little we actually control in our lives. We are not even able to control our own bodies much less the events around us. This shouldn’t be cause for alarm or dismay, but should actually remind us that there is a Person who is in control of every moment we experience -- Someone who knows us more intimately than we know ourselves, and knows what is ultimately the best for us. Sure, in the moment of some trial it may seam impossible that a good and just God would allow certain situations to arise. But our definition of what is good for us may not necessarily be the same as that of the One Who created us. Some of the worst adversities in my life have been the cause for some of the best resolutions. Some of the hardest trials have often led to unimaginable blessings. 34 • Employee Stay Connected

With that being said, I have a great hope that the new year will be a good one, but I know from personal experience that many things will happen that will be difficult and unexpected. There will also be many joyous moments, and days filled with laughter and peace. And I know that through it all, God will provide me with the strength and courage to take on whatever life throws my way; my prayer is that I will remember my strength lies in Christ, and not in myself. So often in the heat of the moment we forget that this life on earth is only a temporary one.. I pray that this year I’ll keep an eternal perspective with everything, no matter how big or small. 2015 holds a lot of promise. A fresh start. A brand new year. The old things have passed; the new has come. Sound familiar? It should... 2 Corinthians 5:17 says this, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” It’s a blessing to know that in Christ we are made a new creation, the past is past and a future in Christ awaits! That’s a promise. Each day we are made new in the sight of God. It doesn’t take a new year to make a new you as the saying goes. Each second we can resolve to live closer to God and be better for it. Another passage that fits in very well with the new year of fresh beginnings... Philippians 3:12-15, “Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Let those of us who are mature think this way, and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal that also to you.” A friend once told me, “Forgetting past failures AND achievements, focus on the ‘upward call of God in Christ Jesus’ which is to live more and more for Him in the new year” And that says it very well. So, I leave the year of 2014 with this prayer that Billy Graham wrote many years ago... 36 • Employee Stay Connected

“Our Father and our God, as we stand at the beginning of this new year we confess our need of Your presence and Your guidance as we face the future. We each have our hopes and expectations for the year that is ahead of us—but You alone know what it holds for us, and only You can give us the strength and the wisdom we will need to meet its challenges. So help us to humbly put our hands into Your hand, and to trust You and to seek Your will for our lives during this coming year. In the midst of life’s uncertainties in the days ahead, assure us of the certainty of Your unchanging love. In the midst of life’s inevitable disappointments and heartaches, help us to turn to You for the stability and comfort we will need. In the midst of life’s temptations and the pull of our stubborn self-will, help us not to lose our way but to have the courage to do what is right in Your sight, regardless of the cost. And in the midst of our daily preoccupations and pursuits, open our eyes to the sorrows and injustices of our hurting world, and help us to respond with compassion and sacrifice to those who are friendless and in need. May our constant prayer be that of the ancient Psalmist: “Teach me, O Lord, to follow your decrees; then I will keep them to the end” (Psalm 119:33). We pray for our nation and its leaders during these difficult times, and for all those who are seeking to bring peace and justice to our dangerous and troubled world. We pray especially for Your protection on all those who serve in our armed forces, and we thank You for their commitment to defend our freedoms, even at the cost of their own lives. Be with their families also, and assure them of Your love and concern for them. Bring our divided nation together, and give us a greater vision of what You would have us to be. Your Word reminds us that “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord” (Psalm 33:12). As we look back over this past year we thank You for Your goodness to us—far beyond what we have deserved. May we never presume on Your past goodness or forget all Your mercies to us, but may they instead lead us to repentance, and to a new commitment to make You the foundation and center of our lives this year. And so, our Father, we thank You for the promise and hope of this new year, and we look forward to it with expectancy and faith. This I ask in the name of our Lord and Savior, who by His death and resurrection has given us hope both for this world and the world to come. Amen” Employee Stay Connected • 37

Sometimes in life we need to stop and reflect back on times that were much simpler.

The world can become such a hectic place and overwhelming with life’s problems, that we forget the times that used to make us laugh and smile and stop to smell the flowers, one of God's gifts to us. So the next time that you see something or smell something that takes you back, allow for that moment to bring you some peace, and thank God for the small things in life.

About January In the Georgian calendar, the calendar that most of the world uses, January is the very first month of the year. The name January came from a Roman god Janus. According to the Roman legend, in 700 B.C., the ruler Numa Pompilius added January to the end of the 10-month Roman calendar. When it was added, Pompilius gave 30 days to January. However, Romans later made January the first month of the year. Moreover, in 46 B.C. Julius Caesar added a one more day to January and that’s why there are 31 in January today. January was known as the wolf month to the Anglo-Saxons because in winter, wolves came into the villages to search for food. It is the coldest month in the northern half of the world, nature is quiet and the birds travel less. Also, the bears and woodchucks go into hibernation. However, in southern half of the world, January is the warmest month. During this time, unlike the northern half of the world, animals are active and plants are growing. Below are some fun facts about January: 1. The flower symbol of January is snowdrop & carnation. 2. January’s gem is garnet which represents constancy. 3. The Common Sense by Thomas Paine was published on January 10, 1776. 4. On January 10, 1920 the League of Nations was established. 5. National Blood Donor Month 6. 9. National Soup Month 7. 10. National Staying Healthy Month 8. On January 8, 1798, Amendment 11 to Constitution was proclaimed which modified the Supreme Court’s power. 9. On January 4, 1896, Utah became the 45th state. 10. On January 6, 1912. New Mexico became the 47th state. 11. January 8 - Elvis Presley’s birthday 12. January 11 - National Human Trafficking Awareness Day in the United States 13. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day in the United States - Third Monday 14. On January 2, 1788, Georgia ratified the Constitution. 15. On January 1, 1863, the Emancipation Proclamation was issued by Abraham Lincoln.

The Power of TRANSFORMATION: My Testimony by Paul Jeri

The Lord called me to KING JESUS MINISTRY in 2007 and I was invited to a House of Peace, aka prayer group, by one of my coworkers at the time. When I arrived at the HOP, I immediately felt the presence of God. This was the first time I had a supernatural encounter with the presence and Power of God and the power of the Holy Spirit. The Lord used one of the leaders to speak to me about my life, my past, and began to speak prophetically over my life; I was so impacted! The Lord used the Apostle to speak purpose, identity and knowledge into my life, I felt the heart of the Father in this Ministry and my pastor as a genuine leader. What really impacted me was the Strong presence of God and the Fresh moves of the spirit I experienced every week at the Ministry. I experiences miracles, signs wonders as a Normal thing , furthermore, I made a decision to get right with God, and get aligned with God, I got baptized in the Holy Spirit and submerged in Water ,My sinful past came to an end ,and my past was buried . I Was empowered with Gods supernatural Power through the baptism of the Holy Spirit, I began to get connected spiritually, and my mentor at the time who is one of the youth Pastors in one of the Ministry’s Daughter churches in Homestead FL invited me to receive at the Inner healing and Deliverance retreat in 2008 .From that moment on It was History .I received different sessions that spoke to my spirit deeply on subjects such as , Forgiveness, Breaking generational curses, Sexual immorality, Baptism of the Holy spirit, Rejection etc . I was delivered from Bitterness, forgiveness, rejection, pride and many other addictions and strongholds I was battling at the time. The chains of enslavement were broken and I was Set Free and a new creation in Christ Jesus! Praise God for the Deliverance Ministry! For the first time in my life I encountered the Supernatural Love of God that is not human love but an Eternal Unconditional Love that fills and completes us! God gave me a new heart to seek His heart, His will and His desires. Romans 5:5 declares the love of God has poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us, I was a man after God’s own heart like David, a new love was birthed, I did not see people in my natural eyes, but in the eyes of our Creator over his creation. Wow, how powerful! I knew the more I got aligned with God the more the enemy wanted to tempt me to fall back, and that God’s perfect will was to deliver me from every obstacle that Satan was placing in my life, every mountain, every rock, to Steal, kill and destroy my relationship and love for God. 2 Corinthians 4:7 declares that we are the temple of God and the spirit of God dwells in us, we are the temple of God as we carry his presence in our hearts. After that experience, I learned to Intercede, learn to pray effectively, worship, develop my Faith in God, and most important, keep my deliverance. I then began a Hunger and thirst for the things of God, like John 7:37 declares” If anyone thirsts let him come to me and Drink.” I longed to be in the presence of God, I am grateful and privileged from every impartation and activation from the Apostle throughout the Years which edified my spirit Immensely, I was ready to go to another level, because I did not fight against his will, I also had spiritual battles, and much opposition. Living in Miami there is a lot of Witchcraft and Santeria where the Kingdom of Darkness, perversion, adultery, lust, and many other heavy additions and wicked spir-

its dominate around this geographic area in the East coast United states due to Satanic pacts many people have done in SFL, there are powers of influence that greatly affect the people. I came out from a dark past, a reckless lifestyle, promoting for exclusive Clubs in Miami, and the nightlife, in sin and all its consequences, which is why many lukewarm Christians have fallen back to Sin in their lifestyles. The Bible says The Flesh is Weak but the Spirit is willing, and my spirit was always willing to be in right standing with God and not let him down, Greater is he that is in us than he that is the World 1 John 4:4. Although my battles were not with Flesh and Blood but with principalities and power who are assigned to us to destroy our relationship with God, living in Miami and in this spiritual atmosphere is very hard and the spiritual battle between two kingdoms is real, but our God is more real. The Lies of the Enemy in my 7 years with King Jesus Ministry grew me to be a Man of God, respected and honored the mantle that was upon my Pastor, and honor the man of God that God placed in my life. I was lost now I am found, I was without purpose, now I have purpose, I had no identity and now I have identity. The Bible says True identity comes from Jesus Christ. I longed for continuous encounters with God just as my pastor has taught me, God’s Glory consumed me like a consuming fire through my encounters with the Lord. In those encounters the Lord would release revelation in my spirit with a heavenly wisdom to overcome all darts and Lies of the enemy to block my spiritual discernment, and to understand the mysteries of the Kingdom of God, to know Him is to experience Him. Furthermore, in my walk with Christ I got involved in a discipleship group, apostolic discipleships program, our pastor was led by God to use as a method of expansion that prepares a Kingdom generation of believers. This is truly God’s Vision for his people for preparation, potential and maturity. I began to get mentored where The Lord spoke to my life in many areas, and I matured in many areas. This greatly impacted, edified and brought discipline to every area of my life and the Fear of God grew in my life to respect and Honor God. I grew in another level of commitment with God. Mathew 18:20. I was Yielded and sold out to the Lord and cooperated with God in the process of transforming my heart, God’s Master plan involved in radical and permanent Heart transformation. Our hearts need to be right with God, our hearts need to be cleansed , so we can operate in LOVE, because God is Love, We need to walk in his love to release his Power!! In this process of spiritual maturity I made a decision to Serve God, I was grateful. Serving is an act of Love. When we serve the People of God, new believers, our community and Family. We must have a life of service, the Bible says in Mathew 10:28. Jesus did not come to Be served but to Serve. The Ministry serves and receives and welcomes new believers on a weekly basis due to the Call for the Lost the Apostle does in the Alter to the congregation and new visits. This way we connect the people and help them go through the same process of cleansing, deliverance and transformation and provide them resources that will greatly bless their lives. We welcome them to the King Jesus Family! Furthermore , As my relationship with God grew, and progressed, I got involved serving the Intercession Ministry for a season, I would also go out to the streets, Evangelize and expand the Kingdom of God and win territory for Christ, I was Activated in evangelism, in the Prophetic and Began to win the Lost for the Lord. The passion for Souls came upon me, I received the DNA of this house and got involved with the VISION of this house which is the vision of God, to Evangelize, affirm, disciple and Send. That is what Jesus did, he evangelized the lost, affirmed the people, he discipled the people, and he sent them out to carry out the work (assignments) of the Lord to Win the lost for the Lord. I died to myself so Christ can live in me! My love for God gave me the capacity to be obedient to his call and his word. Our assignment as a Ministry is to bring the Supernatural power of God in this generation. We are a Ministry of Power and Love for the souls. The heart of God beats for Souls, this fallen world needs the Power of our Supernatural God! God’s plan of salvation was manifested through Love. We serve a merciful, forgiving, loving Father. We as believers are carriers of the Glory of God! The importance of having pillars is to form the church, the body of Christ. By putting them to practice, we edify our faith.

We, as a church, have been given so much revelation and knowledge, and when we go into the presence of God, He will put a demand on us that we have received. He holds us accountable for what we do with the knowledge He has given us. If we don’t practice what we learn, what good is it to have learned it? Leaders, we must be careful with the spirit of Greece—that spirit of intellectualism. The kingdom is not about how much we know but rather how much we do with that which we know. Let us rise up and strengthen the pillars of our ministries. In 2009 I was sent out to Have my Own House of Peace, and saw the Power of God move in my personal prayer groups. I made a decision to be available to the Lord to die to my ego, and humble myself before God. I had so much expectation on what the Lord was going to do in that season through My Faith in God. In addition, I made a covenant with God and got married in 2009 to my beautiful wife Nicole, my partner, compliment and Best friend. My wife and I began our life together and our Journey. with God leading her toward her purpose, and began to work together as a Team doing the perfect will of God by walking in our calling, being examples, and leading a new generation of Spirit filled believes. I began to challenge myself to continue growing, and learned to die to myself, my desires, so others can live. As I continued I was being molded in my character, in 2010 I became a mentor, I started my own discipleship group, I started mentoring young men and women, Lifting up disciples of Christ and leaders of the Kingdom by expanding and multiplying. This is also called the Vision in action, establishing and carrying out the vision of our house here at KJI. I continued receiving spiritual food from our Supernatural Five Fold ministry school (Ephesians 4:11). In 2011 I soon got promoted to serve in the ministry’s local RADIO Station called Radio Zoe 1430 am in Miami FL. I served in controlling the console at the radio, soon, I started preaching in an evangelistic show with another leaders of the net called “Sounds of Hope. “ The Ministry has different Networks (nets) within the church and other ordained pastors oversee around 400-500 members of the congregation. The Pastor of my net was delegated to me and my partner in Radio. We were on Fire for God, preaching the good news on a Local and International Level, bringing people to testify in their personal Supernatural testimonies of what the Lord has done in their Life, I had so much passion and Compassion for the people through the Radio Ministry, wow, It was a privilege and Honor to be used by God as a tool to be a blessing to Many. To release his word and his Power by means of communication. In addition, I was also serving the people in our Inner healing and deliverance retreats held in Venus FL, where I had the privilege to Preach, Teach, and Minister the word and deliverance to the broken hearted, to the captivates by the Glory of God the Lord used me and anointed to deliver the captives, heal the broken hearted, Declare and proclaim the word. The Bible says in Luke 4:18 the Lord uses us to deliver the captives, the oppressed. I experienced the power of the Holy Spirit change and transform the hearts of the People. Healings would take place, arms would grow, people receiving the Supernatural healing, miracles signs and wonders. We can experience miracles, signs and wonders TODAY, everything we need, emotionally, materially, financially or spiritually was provided at the cross of Calvary, the cross is the basis for God to provide absolute and total provision to mankind. We need the revelation of the cross. Everything was paid and was paid in FULL at the cross! I am a witness of the Power of the resurrected of Christ, Ephesians 1:17 declares the Holy Spirit gives us the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the Knowledge of Him. With this in mind, we can operate and carry it out by Revelation. We must have the revelation of Deliverance! When Jesus came to Earth, He preached, taught, healed and casted out demons and Demonstrated the Power of God. We as believers have the same authority only if we are living a righteous and holy life before the Lord. If we remove the message of the Cross and the Power of the resurrection we are missing a very important Supernatural Element. The power of the resurrection is not only to raise the Dead, but the resurrection Power also serves to raise a marriage that is broken or dead, over diseases such as cancer, and other infirmities, its purpose is to bring to Life everything that was dead! God is so amazing! Furthermore, I was Faithful, committed and focused in God and to continue serving the people of God. On a personal note, and experience, I was always blessed in work-

ing for amazing secular companies, Powerful fortune 500 businesses, attending great secular Universities and privileged to attend University of the Supernatural at King Jesus Ministry. In 2012 I received an offer to work full time in the Ministry where God called me to serve there for a season. I also saw the power of God move supernaturally through the call center Ministry. Myself and other leaders who worked there experienced something Very Special. We built an atmosphere of Prayer and Intercession, the Heart of God was there! I was privileged to lead the lost to Christ, many people called, with AIDS, Infirmities, marriages broken, addictions, and other special cases. People called who were hungry and expecting a miracle. Indeed the Lord was glorified, Deliverances would take place over the phone, people would manifest and we would demonstrate the power of God, people were delivered Free Instantly. Though our prayers at other times, it would be progressive healings, in some instance people would call back days, weeks later with Praise report, testifying they are free, they have no more diseases, That is the Supernatural God we Serve! He sets his People Free!! I served/worked nearly 2 years in the Ministry. In 2013, The Lord opened the doors for a new transition in my life, I am happy to come aboard with such a Great and impactful Company here at ISA, I am grateful where God has taken me and positioned me, to bring my talents, skills and professionalism and Ministry background to such as great organization with great Leaders. I have been Faithful to everything I was delegated to do thorough the years with excellence and Integrity, helping my leaders, serving the Pastor of my net Prophet Diana, a mighty woman of God who has believed in me! Earlier this year in 2014 the Apostle ordained me and my wife as Deacons of King Jesus Ministry, I was privileged and Honored to serve my Pastors and the Ephesians of the Ministry, Ministers, teachers, Evangelists to continue walking in my purpose and calling. I am eternally grateful for God, my spiritual parents, my minister for believing in me, I have seen the Hand of God operate in my life in so many levels. This process of affirmation and transformation started by trusting, believing and surrendering my heart to God and by accepting the call of God in my life. I am living my highest Reality a human can ever experience. The book of 1 Corinthians 3:16-18 declares that we are transformed from Glory to Glory, which means that we need to mature to the image and likeness of God. The purpose of every transformation is the changing of the heart. What births transformation in our hearts? What produces and gives birth transformation? Our frustration with religion and conformism and spiritual frustration, in other words Dissatisfaction of where we are at. When we conform we become religious, why ? Because religion has a form of Christianity but inside they are the same and not changed. We need Change! When we don’t change we become irrelevant, when we stop being transformed we become a slave of the enemy. We can’t know the will of God if we are in a state of conformism. Like the good word declares, all transformation is in the likeness of JESUS. When we conform we don’t progress, and eventually we go back to previous life, old habits, and a carnal mentality. I want to encourage everyone who is reading this by challenging you to break free from conformism, the enemy wants to deceive the Body of Christ and attack the mind with thoughts of disbelief, and rob our experience with God. We must renew our minds daily like the word of God teaches us in Romans 12:12 not to conform to the patterns of this world but be transformed by the renewing of our mind. We must renew our mind daily by declaring the word to inherit the Mind of Christ. The spirit of God has to renew our Minds with the Word, the patterns of conduct come back to fall to our minds and as a results brings spiritual stagnation. On the other hand, God is always giving us opportunities to grow in another level in Him, to seek Him in Spirit and in truth, so we must cry out for a fresh experience and encounter with the Living God, in his presence we are filled, changed and transformed. I encourage you and challenge you to get out of your comfort zone, it’s time to seek God like never before and experience a Supernatural Transformation on your Hearts. God Bless Paul Jeri

Devotional & Bible Reading In the month of January we will be reading in the books of Genesis, Job, and the first part of Exodus! With this Chronological style reading plan, we will be able to see how the events in the Bible happened in the order of history. This will allow us to see a new perspective on some of the events that happened in the Word of God, and will perhaps shed some light on what the writers were experiencing in the time of the book’s authorship. I’m sure many of you know the first few words of the Bible by heart, “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth”... but make an effort to read all the passages you already know with fresh and new eyes. Don’t skim over the parts you’ve read before, but read them again and search for new insights that you might have missed previously. Each verse contains great truth that we can learn and grow from, even if we’ve already read it before. That’s what’s so amazing about Scripture! It never grows old but continues to fill us with meaning each and every day. Don’t get discouraged if you miss a day or more and miss out on the passages... You can pick up right where you left off or jump to the current day and catch up on the other passages later. And if you only start the reading plan in the middle of the month that’s still the perfect time to start reading! That’s the great thing about the Bible, there is no set way you have to read it... The only important thing is that you DO read. If you’re not ready to tackle reading the whole Bible, don’t give up! You can start out reading Proverbs to get a start. It’s full of great truths and wisdom to help you in all stages of life. Plus it’s easy to know what chapter to read on which day.... There are 31 chapters in Proverbs, and 31 days in January! Just read the chapter that matches the day of the month and soon you will have ready the whole book! - Andrea Lewis
