The Shoot This beautiful styled shoot was photographed by Sarah Brittain Edwards (formally The Little Caravan Wedding Photography) and was shot at the end of November, proving that your winter wedding can be bright & sunny, especially in a room as stunning as this one at Bosworth Hall Hotel...with such jaw dropping floor to ceiling windows like these. The venue has such a natural elegance, this is just one of the many room available to dress for your wedding. For the bride we created two stunning looks, with both the dresses from Dress Me Pretty Bridal Room; the talented hairdressing skills of Sarah Russell and make-up artistry from the fabulous make-up artist Diana Morton. First we created a softer more natural look; with a lace topped long sleeve dress, which has the most beautiful delicate layered skirt, the hair styled into loose curls & a pink make-up palette brought the look together. For the second look; a striking floor length satin gown, which perfectly suited a hair up style & a stronger make-up look, both absolutely perfect for a winter wedding.

REAL WEDDING

A RUSTIC BARN WEDDING Words By Sarah Humphreys

Photography By Kayleigh Pope Photography

A beautiful sunny, summer barn wedding nestled in the rolling Northamptonshire countryside Rebecca & Myke got married at Dodford Manor on 15th August 2016, with a vintage and rustic mixed theme inspired by the beautiful venue. "My dress was from a shop in Coventry called Proposals. It was only the second shop we went in, but when I saw it I knew it was the one. It has a lace top with a full satin skirt and a beaded belt...with pockets!” said Becky “ and my shoes were from John Lewis with a a lace design on them. Myke wore a dark navy suit from Debenhams with a black bow tie and braces. He smashed it to be fair (he is also totally not writing this as I dictate ) “ “Flowers wise unfortunately the bouquets bloomed late and weren't in their prime for the wedding. They tied in nicely with our theme though.” continued the bride “ our cake was made by Pam from Pam-Cakes. It had three tiers, lemon, chocolate and carrot cake.” “ We had 4 bridesmaid “ said the bride “ plus our daughter, Autumn. Another special memorable moments was when our two year old son, Dougie came running up to join us in a first dance followed by Autumn shortly after. It was a lovely family moment!” “ We did plenty of DIY projects for our wedding including the table decorations and centre pieces. We spent a great deal of time decorating jars, we also used lots of Polaroid photos scattered around the room for that personal touch. One Piece of advice i would suggest “ concluded Becky “ try and stay laid back, don't over think the finer details, and enjoy your moment.”

MEET CLAIRE CLARKE

WEDDINGS Q: What’s the first thing a bride should do when starting to plan her wedding? A: Firstly, planning a wedding is a joint venture and it’s so important for both parties to be involved from the start to ensure it feels like a joint celebration. I find a lot of couples run off to start looking at venues before thinking about the wedding as an overall experience so my first piece of advice would be to slow down. Discuss all the things you love and what you both want from your day (i.e what is important to you both?!)- you’ll soon figure out if it’s the food, venue, entertainment or something completely personal that you’d like' Photography Sung Blue Photography

Q: Why is a good wedding planner so invaluable? A: So, many couples step into the world of planning a wedding without experience so not only can the process be overwhelming but knowing where to spend your budget is often a grey area for most. Having a wedding planner means you have one contact (of whom will become your new best friend more often than not!) with strong supplier relationships who can guide you when it comes to bringing your vision to life and keep choices within your budget. For couples choosing to marry at a venue without a designated planner on site such as a back garden marquee wedding or somewhere a little more ‘DIY’, having a planner on the day really can prove to be invaluable for most couples. While I arrange supplier logistics, set up your room and decorate your tables how your saw your vision of the day, you can be relaxing with friends to fully enjoy the experience. Once the day starts, I ensure everything runs to time and anything that manages to slip through the cracks, does so without being seen by you or your guests ensuring that to every pair of eyes, the day is 100% seamless and you can fully relax.

REAL WEDDING

LAVENDER BARN Words By Sarah Humphreys

Photography By Sarah Brittain Edwards ( Formally

the little Caravan Photography )

A beautiful barn wedding, with lavender touches at this stunning venue in the Leicestershire countryside Vickie & Liam got married at Halstead House, Leicestershire, on Saturday, September 3rd 2016. “ I’ve always known I’d like to have a rustic, ‘shabby chic’ wedding theme so that’s what we went for. The venue fitted the theme perfectly as it has lots of wooden beams and cobbles.” Said Vickie “ We also had lavender as the colour scheme, so my bridesmaids had dusky lavender/mauve dresses and I used lavender in the decorations and in the bouquets and button-holes. I’ve always had a pretty clear idea of what kind of wedding I’d like “ continued the bride “ but Pinterest, blogs and bridal magazines were brilliant for getting ideas for little touches on the day, so I was definitely inspired by what I saw online. The venue itself also inspired me as it really lends itself to that countryside wedding, rustic style.” “ My dress was the first one I tried on and I just kept coming back to it. I got it at Wed2b in Hinckley with my Mum. I was fairly sure on what type of dress I wanted before I went but I ended up going for something completely different. “ said Vickie “It’s very simple with a Grecian feel to it with the drapes down the back. Funnily enough, my Mum said it was the kind of dress she’d always pictured me wearing! “ “ I was really struggling with my shoes because I’m tall (5ft11) and I didn’t want them to be too high “ Said the bride “ but I also needed to lift the dress a little bit. I knew I wouldn’t be able to walk in proper heels so I decided on a wedge heel but finding the right pair with my size 8 feet was a challenge! Eventually my Mum and my sister spent an evening scouring the internet and found the perfect pair on a website called Elegant Steps. They were beautiful – open toe, lace with a wedge. I did end up swapping to flats after the ceremony as I felt more comfortable.” “ When it came to my cake, I’ve never been a fan of the traditional iced cake, so when I discovered naked cakes (thank you Pinterest) I knew that’s what I wanted. We’d originally found someone to make the cake but it fell through at the last minute. Luckily I’d discovered this lovely little café in Loughborough on my lunch break from work called Café Fifty-Three. “ said Vickie “ It turned out they made the most amazing cakes so I asked if they could do mine. It was honestly so much more beautiful then I could have imagined and they copied the photo I’d given them completely. It was also delicious! I couldn’t recommend them enough”

“Liam’s outfit was entirely from Next! He wore a charcoal grey suit with a matching waistcoat, white shirt and lavender tie which the Groomsmen and my Dad also wore. I also had four bridesmaids – my three best friends and my sister was my Maid of Honour. “continued the bride’’ They wore multi-way dresses from Monsoon which I just happened to spot one day when I was walking past. They were great because the girls all have their own style so they could wear the dresses differently.” “To be honest I’m not much of a DIY person so the extent of my DIY was making tissue pompoms to hang from the ceiling. My lifesaver came in the form of Jack from Pretty Quirky Hire. We found her through a wedding fair and hired almost all of our decorations from her. She’s also a fan of the shabby chic look so they fitted perfectly. She also came and helped us set up the day before and really went above and beyond to make everything look perfect.” Said the bride “The first moment we had alone where we had a big hug was really overwhelming and wonderful “concluded Vickie “kind of a ‘We did it!’ Moment.

The Shoot One of the biggest wedding trends for 2017 is the Pantone Greenery, I absolutely love this fresh and stylish look, and what better venue to showcase the stunning greenery floral displays by Florae Foray...Stapleford Park. The venue is cram bang full of unique rooms inside and stunning gardens outside, so we were literally spoilt for choice with areas for photographer Sarah Brookes to set up and bring this look alive. Becky of Florae Foray set to work and created the show stopping bouquet and the amazing flowers on the table dressing, encapsulating the greenery tend. Adding the special touches to the table dressing was Hannah from The Lanes, creating a simplistic table dressing letting the greenery and white floral displays take centre stage, also the creative skills of White Cottage Weddings beautiful stationery finished the table off perfectly.

JUST CELEBRATIONS Congratulations, you found “The One”! You’ve booked the venue, the DJ and the photographer. The invites are in the post, the cake is in the oven. You have the dress, the shoes and the flowers are to die for. Sadly the actual ceremony itself has been overlooked! The “I Do’s”. The most important words that you will say to the most special person in the world, on your biggest day of your lives haven’t been given a thought. Don’t you think you should? Did you know that you can separate the legal aspect of registering your marriage and have your actual ceremony including your personal vows and exchange of rings wherever you want, at a completely different time and place, whether at a licensed venue or not? Celebrancy is gaining momentum in England and Wales. Increasingly couples are thinking ‘outside the box,’ taking control of their ceremony and do not want to be restricted by the red tape of regulation as they rightly demand to have their ceremony of choice, in their location of choice, with content & music of choice, with their partner of choice…. By using a professional Celebrant to officiate your ceremony, you can embrace your individuality. A blended marriage of different cultures, faiths and traditions? Stately home and black tie? Beach wedding with sandy toes & salty kisses, or festival boho chic? Your celebrant can conduct your ceremony on the beach, canal side, lakeside, in private gardens, marquee, tipi or yurt! Your options are endless… What are you waiting for? For a ceremony with a difference – contact Justine! REAL WEDDING

VINTAGE VILLAGE PARTY Words By Sarah Humphreys

Photography By James Mottram Photography

A traditional village hall wedding, with stunning photography at a local Leicestershire landmark, Old John, Bradgate Park. Cristie & Tim got married at The Music Room at Loughborough Registry Office with the reception at Woodhouse Eaves Parish Village Hall on 30th July 2016. "We wanted to enjoy our wedding day in a traditional way, it’s possibly why we made it slightly vintage and ensured we went through the key rituals of the day.” Said Cristie “We also wanted the whole wedding to be relaxed, we are both fairly reserved characters, not naturally wanting to find ourselves the centre of attention, because of this we planned a relatively modest occasion. Also it was important for me to design and add some personal touches along with décor that would create an uplifting feel. I focused on yellow and blue as the colours, this fit with Tim’s loyalty to Leicester City Football Club!” “Being a design enthusiast I chose a fairly low-key dress, which reminded me of an iconic 60’s lace dress that I saw fashion images of Twiggy wearing.” Said the bride “ I wanted the day to be timeless, as I later looked back on it. I felt very comfortable on the day, I never wear full length dresses. The dress did allow me to show off my shoes. I bought the dress from Boden, for approximately £100. As I knew the shoes would be on display,” continued Cristie “ I chose, gold with a large yellow flower and a patterned heel, they were from Poetic License. As I had had other shoes from this brand and knew how comfortable they would be.” “My florist was my cousin Ami, she works at Slade’s in West Bridgford. “ said Cristie “She met with me and fully informed me off all the flowers available during July within my chosen colour theme. We had to google them so I could understand what they looked like. I was so happy with the flowers they were absolutely beautiful. “ "For our wedding cake we wanted a classic cake. I made the mini-me’s for the top of the cake; I bought the peg people blanks off eBay and painted them in the outfits we would be wearing. These have now made incredible nice keep-sakes on our mantle. We didn’t want to spend a fortune on the cake, we actually got the 3 tiers of the cake from M&S. Tim’s suit was also from M&S” continued the bride “ We found this to be more economical than hiring him a suit, especially as he wanted a contemporary skinny cut. The groom and the groomsmen had matching grey braces and skinny

gingham ties, I chose to only have one bridesmaid, a maid of honour, who was my sister Kelly. Kelly’s outfit was similar to mine, blue knee length dress, Irregular Choice shoes and flowers.” “DIY wise, I put together all of the table décor.” continued Cristie “Sewing runners from grey chevron fabric, cutting yellow gingham napkins. I assembled the place indicators, they were small plant pots with a yellow painted lollipop stick in with the name written on. The table numbers were also assembled. They were papier mache numbers painted gold, stuck on a brass rod, inside blue bottles. I also made a photo activity for the children, they were given a disposable camera and a list of what to capture.’’ “We took advice from our photographer about a photo opportunity at a local Leicestershire landmark, Old John.” concluded the bride “This resulted in amazing photos, but it also enabled me and Tim to get away for a short while.

It was great to have a little time together before re-joining our guests. It also enabled us to fully enjoy our wedding car and the glass of champagne presented to us. We both truly enjoyed the ride in the wedding car from the ceremony to Old John at Bradgate Park. It took us through the town where people were waving up and out into the countryside. It felt so special to be together after the ceremony with a complimentary glass of champagne riding through my hometown. We finished the day off with a live band, it went down so well, we danced all night long with our guests. They also played our first dance song, making it truly memorable and special.’’ Make Up: Chloe Simone facebook.com/chloesimoneHDBrowsMUA/
