The Styled Shoot If you’re looking for a luxury venue, without the restrictions of a hotel then The High House could be your ideal venue. This is so not your average wedding venue, it is styled to perfection, including a swimming pool, beautifully designed rooms and a real air of luxury. You honestly won’t want to leave. Myself and photographer Joanna Briggs Photography, soon found some ideal locations to capture the look I wanted, which was a beautiful, stylish feminine look that I knew would complement the stunning venue The High House. With shades of pink and hints of autumn being the central theme, Sophie of Lilac And Wild floristry created the most stunning floral displays for the table dressings, bouquet & a flower crown. Teamed with Bunting And Willow Weddings table styling and the beautiful delicate stationery by I Love and Love, brought the look of opulence together. Completing the theme nicely is the cake, designed by the very talented wedding cake baker The Confetti Cakery .
For this look I knew we would need some showstopper wedding dresses. They were arranged by the amazing Wedding Belles Of Four Oaks, and the personally designed shoes by Inanna Bespoke Shoes. Hair and make-up was created by Mode Hair & Make-up, a soft up-do and soft pink palette for the make-up, with glowing skin. The overall look was absolutely stunning, all captured by wedding photographer Joanna Briggs Photography. Written By Sarah Humphreys

Venue Hampton Manor
A country chic wedding, with a beautiful colour palette of pale pastels and greenery at the stunning country retreat Hampton Manor, Solihull. Sally & Mark got married at Hampton Manor in Hampton in Arden on 17th June 2017. “ We completely fell in love with the Manor and just appreciate the english countryside. So themed the wedding around the amazing venue.” Said Sally “For my dress I chose...well It’s stunning, the designer is Ronald Joyce it was the first one I tried and I completely fell in love with it. Mermaid shape, with beaded back” continued the bride “ my shoes are from Jenny Packman, the shape of the jewellery on the front of the shoes matched my amazing engagement ring... Mark wore light brown suit with olive green tweed waistcoats which suited the theme” Said the bride. “For my flowers I enlisted a friend of ours, Cheryl from Willow Flowers, our guests still comment on them now. Luckily” continued Sally “we designed all the wedding stationary ourselves, then hired in all the finishing touches, candelabras, step ladders etc..” “My advice would be.. take your time to shop around and plan, we explored pinterest to find absolutely the right thing for us and then sourced different suppliers to replicate exactly what we wanted” “My most memorable moment is my son walking me down the aisle and he was so proud. Very emotional moment. And” Continued the bride “Our first dance was beautiful, we chose an unusual song and the band played it beautifully”

THE PERFECT HONEYMOON 10 TIPS FOR THE PERFECT HONEYMOON Tracy, Not Just Travel shares her top tips to help you choose your ideal honeymoon destination: 1. It’s all in the timing… Always book early to avoid disappointment. As soon as you have set the wedding date, you should start thinking about your honeymoon destination – or vice versa. If you do have a fixed destination in mind, you may even decide to move the wedding day to suit your honeymoon dates. 2. Check the weather Not all destinations have good year-round weather. The month you’re getting married may not be the best time to visit your chosen destination. If you have your heart set on a specific country, research the average weather patterns to make sure you’re happy with the climate. 3. Check the season If you’re aiming for a summer wedding and you want a honeymoon in the USA, you need to be aware that August is hurricane season. Plus, during our summer, it’s winter in the southern hemisphere, so if you’re planning on going to Australia, it may not be quite as warm as you imagine… 4. Decide your budget It’s important to set a budget from the start and, ideally, this should be part of your overall wedding budget. Decide whether you want an elegant, luxurious honeymoon or the best value for money hotel. You don’t have to spend huge amounts to have an unforgettable honeymoon. If you’re getting married during peak holiday times, such as July and August, or Christmas and New Year, you will pay more for your flights and accommodation. 5. Special Honeymoon Offers Complimentary offers add great value to a honeymoon and will make it feel even more special. If you contact the hotel in advance, you could enjoy extras such as fruit, flowers or champagne in your room on arrival, candlelit dinners and room upgrades, complimentary massages or big discounts. 6. Wedding gift alternative Nowadays many couples already live together before they marry, so honeymoon gift lists can be an excellent alternative to a traditional gift list. Guests can contribute towards the booking itself, or to upgrade your room or flight. One note of caution: when using a honeymoon gift list, if your guests do not contribute until your wedding day and you have booked your honeymoon, final payment is required 14 weeks before departure. Any funds left in your gift list are fully refundable or can be used to book other holidays.
We are with you every step of your journey including arranging visas and transfers.
7. Days of flying Some destinations can only be reached on certain days due to airline schedules. This means you may need to be flexible, especially if you want to travel the day after your wedding. Look for destinations offering departure days that fit into your schedule. 8. Passport name change If the bride-to-be plans to change her passport into her married name, make sure all documents and booking details are in the same name, as this could result in refused entry into your chosen country. Always leave plenty of time to send off all the documents and for them to be returned to you. 9. Visas If you’re planning on travelling to a faraway location, always check whether you need a visa to enter the country and allow enough time to apply for this. The Foreign Office website lists visa information on all countries. 10. Travel Insurance This is an absolute must when travelling overseas. Insurance will cover you and your partner for illness and accidents. Always check your policy covers your destination, as well as any activities you’re planning, such as scuba diving, etc.
Our personal customer service ensures that we are with you every step of your journey including arranging visas and transfers.

WILD & BRIGHT Words By Sarah Humphreys
Photography By Nellie Photography
Venue Alcott Weddings
A fun and colourful outdoor tipi wedding with lots of DIY projects adding finishing touches to a festival theme wedding at Alcott Weddings in the glorious Worcestershire countryside Mandy & Daniel got married at Alcott Weddings at Alcott Farm on the 8th July 2017. “We decided on the theme of a Festival Wedding as this provided the perfect party atmosphere to celebrate our 11 years together and to look forward to many more happy years to come.” Said Mandy “The festival theme also allowed us to invite guests to camp out in the field with us, at first people were not too sure about this but in the end we had 30 campers stop the night with us. We partied till the early hours and there was no pressure for people to leave at a certain time.” “My dress was the first wedding dress that I’d ever tried on and after trying 9 more I knew that it definitely was the one for me, I absolutely love it.” Said the bride “I had the most perfect experience picking ‘the one’ at The Dressing Rooms, along with my maid of honour and my mom. On our visit we had the shop to ourselves and we were made to feel at ease and super special. There were tears of joy, fizz to celebrate and lots of excitement. It was everything I imagined and more. I bought my dress from the Dressing Rooms in Halesowen... I picked a stunning dress from the Sottero and Midgley range. As I’m not a fan of the typical wedding shoe, so I struggled to find the right style, so I decided to go with a gorgeous electric blue colour and found the perfect style at Lipsy of all places.” Continued the bride “I loved the pop of colour from beneath my dress, perfectly captured in some of Sarah’s photos. They were very comfortable and lasted all the way till after the first dance. Not bad considering we were in a field and walking in heels was quite tricky. After that it was flip flop time!” “Our florist was a family friends who’s Mom owns Funky Flowers in Dudley. She nailed the brief which was wild and bright, nothing to organised, we wanted a freshly handpicked feel to the flowers, as if they’d just been gathered from a field.” Said Mandy “Our cake was also a family friend who offered her skills and made us a beautiful 3 tier naked sponge cake. It tasted amazing. We served it for desert and Dan and I ate the top tier at about 2am whilst still dancing!” “Dan’s suit was from Duncan James in Walsall it was made by Remus Uomo. The shop were so helpful as Dan is a fussy man.” Said the bride “They even made free alterations and took extra effort to track down the bowties we wanted for him and the groom party.” “We got very busy with DIY projects for the wedding,” said Mandy “I made all of the colourful bunting tassels which edged the lining of the tipi. We made use of some old pallets by decorating with Polaroid pics of our 11 years together. We also bought an old painters ladder from Ebay and refurbished and that was used to display pictures of our grandparents (sadly some of them are no longer with us but we wanted them there, so this was how we did it). Going with the festival theme we designed some custom festival wristbands and lanyards which we gave out to the guests as favours. Dan’s dad spent hours making a sign to direct the guest to the various areas of the festival and so they wouldn’t get lost later in the evening.”

“My advice would be to book everything as early as possible. We were surprised just how quickly good suppliers get booked up. Looking back the whole day was memorable, somewhere along the way somebody told us to make sure we took a moment to take everything in as it would go so fast.
We’re so glad we received this advice and did as we were told. I lost Dan at one point” concluded the bride “I found him laid out on a bale of hay, next to the fire smoking a cigar. I asked him where he’d been and he just sat up and said “taking it all in”.

The Styled Shoot As this venue has such a rustic bride vibe, I knew a bohemian/ rustic look would suit this venue down to the ground. Working alongside photographer Nellie Photography was great, especially as Bordesley Park has so many areas in the grounds to work in, I also especially wanted to get in the spectacular views. After seeing the Boho Bride Freedom Collection at Boho Bride Boutique, in Stratford-upon-Avon, I was really keen to focus on the fantastic separate collection...being able to switch skirts, tops & overlays was like a dream come true, they really do suit every shape and any style you would like.

With the focus of the table dressing being on natural elements and textures, Bella Lily Flowers created the most amazing floral tablescape and bouquet. Along with the flowers Krystal Klear Events & Decor added table settings and dressed my all time favourite trestle tables and mismatched chairs from My Lovely Trestle Table Hire. Onto the cake, following the natural textures vibe.. Gails Cake Pantry wowed us all with a semi-naked wedding cake dressed with greenery. Lastly the element that always brings it all together is the stationery that I Love And Love created, with bespoke stationery, chair ties and a fabric wedding banner to complement the look.
For this style I really feel hair and make-up should be relatively natural, Suezanna, salon owner at Make My day, set to work bringing the hair and makeup to life, teamed with stunning hair accessories by Tulle & Blue. Lastly you can’t have a boho/rustic wedding without a camper, and this one doubles as transport and then into a photobooth...what more could you want from Vintage Inspired Wedding Hire. Do you have a favourite flower? 'I do love roses- big fluffy, scented ones!! But if I had to name an all-time favourite that makes me smile when I drive by, then I’ll admit I’d be pushed to choose between a foxglove or English garden lilac.' Favourite wedding? 'This is a tricky one! I usually like the one I’m working on at the time the best – and that’s currently true today. I have a beautiful marquee to decorate with hanging flowers and mossed table numbers adorned with lots of pale pink roses in bell jars, and the most stunning pale pink and cream bridal bouquet to look foraged from the hedgerow. So yes, right now, the one I’m currently working on is my favourite!' Any top tips for brides? 'Sources such as Pinterest are great, but do take advice from your florist. The more artistic license you give them the better your flowers will be. Florists love creating and although we will always do as a client wishes it’s not enjoyable for a florist to have to copy pictures exactly to the letter. Some of the best wedding flowers I produced are for brides who give me a design brief and colour scheme at that’s all!' Any budget advice? 'Okay this one can be tricky, Be upfront with your florist. Tell them your budget from the offset. I know you will be thinking if I do this then they will spend it all, well yes isn’t this why you set this amount aside? Some florists have a minimum spend, for me this is £1000.00 for weekends and bank holidays for bespoke designs. I also offer bespoke packages for brides on a smaller budget for collection, including personal flowers and table centres.'

REAL WEDDING
RUSTIC BARN Words By Sarah Humphreys

Venue Mythe Barn
A rustic themed barn wedding, at the beautiful Mythe Barn, with views over rolling hills and meadows, set in the stunning Leicestershire countryside. Caitlin & Alex got married at Mythe Barn Wedding Venue in Sheepy Magna on the 13th April 2017. “We went for a Rustic Style Wedding to compliment the style of our venue, but we also added loads of personal touches to reflect our personalities and interests.” Said Caitlin “including a few little Easter touches as our wedding was so close to the Easter weekend. We took a lot of inspiration from Pinterest- I became a Pinterest Junkie! I also got ideas from Bridal magazines. My dad is super creative so he came up with a few of our quirky ideas.” "My Wedding dress was from a boutique called Coco & Kate Atelier in Hatton.” Said the bride “It is a fabulous, unique appointment only boutique. Sophie, the owner was so friendly and helpful from start to finish and nothing was too much trouble. My dad saw my dress” continued Cailtlin “in the window of the boutique and showed my mum, saying he thought that would look beautiful on, I subsequently went to try on that particular dress but found dozens of beautiful gowns in the shop. I did however end up buying that first dress! My dress was a lace Watters 'Wtoo' fishtail fit and flare gown in ivory. The amazing train was what sold me after trying it on, along with the gorgeous details of the lace. My shoes were a pair of Kurt Geiger 'Carvela' Gold glitter courts. They were a pair that Alex had bought me for our very first Christmas together and I customised them by adding an 'I do' decal on the soles.” “Alex had a slim fit mid grey suit from Next. As my Bridesmaids were in coral we didn't want anything too bright but also didnt want to clash so Alex and the rest of the Grooms party wore a light coral/peach coloured ties and pocket squares.” “For our flowers we used a small florist in Nuneaton called Evergreens, when doing my research I’d seen how expensive flowers were and we had probably underestimated the cost when doing our budget.” Said Caitlin “Evergreens were really reasonably priced and executed my idea of having wild greenery and neutral white roses perfectly. I was particularly happy with the arrangement of flowers they made for the crate that we used for our top table decorations/centrepiece.” “Alex's mum made our wedding cake as a wedding gift, and it was incredible! It was a complete surprise until the day... I had no idea what it was going to look like but she incorporated our colour scheme perfectly.” Continued the bride “It was a four tier cake with vanilla, chocolate and Lemon sponges, with iced flowers around the exterior. she also added a little playmobil Bride and Groom at the back!” “We did loads of DIY projects” said Caitlin “my dad was on hand for any DIY as he is super talented when it comes to making things. He made us our own Giant letters; a 'C' and an 'A' , he painted our order of the day onto an old pallet, he also made all the wooden crates we used for our flowers. For our centrepieces we used vintage cake stands which my dad made from old plates he got at auction. I then bought my own flowers and arranged them myself around the cake stands for our centrepieces. Our guestbook was made

from one of Alex’s old skateboards which he sanded down and sprayed white, we got our guests to write on it with sharpies!” “I’d recommend to always overestimate the costs as things can tend to end up being more expensive” said Caitlin “especially if there are things you forget to budget for- I forgot to budget for my veil and for all the beauty treatments I had before the big day which added up! The other thing I wish I had done is enjoy every little moment as it goes so fast and if you try not to get stressed the planning can actually be really fun! Remember it’s about you marrying the love of your life not about having the best wedding favours!”
“ For me the most memorable moment was seeing Alex when I walked down the aisle, it was so emotional and overwhelming. I didn’t stop smiling through the whole ceremony. Another really amazing moment” concluded the bride “was when Alex’s grandparents turned up after previously being unable to make the wedding due to ill health. I know Alex was absolutely over the moon that his grandparents were able to see him get married, and it was a really special thing.”
