WELCOME COMMITTEE NEWS As we meet new residents, many inquire about whom to hire to do their yard work – trimming, edging, mulching, etc. If you offer this service, why not place an ad on the Tara Woods Homeowners Association website (www.twhoa.net) to let people know you offer this service. The ad on the website is free and could help your business as well as assist our new neighbors. New Residents Orientations are generally held in the Clubhouse on the first Saturday of each month.

Please note the new start time of 10:00 AM. If you have never attended one of our informative meetings, please come on Saturday, December 5th. You will have an opportunity to meet other new residents and receive a great deal of information about life here at Tara Woods. There will be no orientation in January. The first New Residents Orientation of 2021 will be on Saturday, February 6th.

FROM THE BOARD ROOM by Lou I dare say that this normally festive holiday season will be like no other that we have ever experienced. “Adaptability is the simple secret of survival” so says Jessica Hagedorn, Filipino playwright, writer and poet. She never said that it would be easy. However, if any group can adapt, it’s the residents of Tara Woods. I see it every day. We all enjoyed a beautiful early evening behind the ceramic building for our first social event of the season, the Pumpkin Carving Contest. There are a bunch of creative folks in our community. The pumpkins were awesome. WOW!! The residents in costume along with the decorated golf carts showed more creativity and added a festive flair to the event. As always, resident participation is the key to any successful event. It was fun to get out and see each other. Tara Woods residents stepped up AGAIN! Twenty plus residents donated blood right here in the Blood Mobile bus on November 2nd. Thank you for demonstrating that Tara Woods is a caring and giving community. Many of you have seen the inside of my garage. It is not a pretty sight. On the other hand, there is Linda and John Hoos’ garage located at 19436 Charleston Circle, Lot #167. It is a pretty sight. It is full of Christmas toys that normally would line the stage in our Clubhouse. We are adapting. Stop by and donate any unwrapped

toy or two which will go to the North Fort Myers Fire Department for distribution to boys and girls right here in North Fort Myers. You have until December 16th. Wrapping paper, tape or ribbon are also welcomed. The Board thanks Community Manager Terri Passaro for her time here and we wish her well. Vice President Sue Cook, Director Peter Krilivisky, and I welcomed and met with Karen Lawson, the new Community Manager, on November 17th. COVID-19, along with the changing of managers, has caused delays to a great many projects that were already in the pipeline and very necessary to ensure that Tara Woods remains a premier community. We all expect to be and look like a premier community. We all look forward to having these projects expedited. As always, as an TWHOA member, you may view the minutes of our meeting on our website www.twhoa.net. Your Homeowners Membership Association dues are now due. It is time to join or renew with an exclusive group of residents who recognize and appreciate the many benefits of being part of Tara Woods. As a resident you are an asset to our community! Thank you. Lou Dunning, President loudunning2@gmail.com 239-240-5847

FMO NEWS: TARA WOODS HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION NEWS It’s hard to believe but this is the last FMO article for 2020. WHAT A YEAR. I sincerely hope that you and your family are COVID free and all is well. At the present time, I don’t expect to see FMO meetings for the foreseeable future. Hopefully, we will be able to restart our meetings during the later part of 2021. Now would be a good time to ensure that your membership in the FMO is current. If it has expired or is about to expire consider renewing for three years. Currently, annual dues are $25.00 per year or 3 years for $65.00. Questions about your status, please do not hesitate to contact me. When you renew for three years you save money and don’t have to worry about renewing for three years. Not a bad deal. There has been quite a bit of activity behind the scenes. Our FMO Board of Directors have been busy ensuring that we got the vote out to

support those candidates running for office are the candidates who support FMO. FMO is reporting that because of the current and past hurricane seasons, homeowners should expect to see significant increases in their homeowner’s insurance for those living in the panhandle, Tampa area and around Lake O. Because of this, many homeowners are turning to Citizen’s Insurance. Their rate increases are currently capped at 10%. As we get into the holiday season and you are looking for something different to give yourself, please consider Road Side Assistance from FMO. The rates are significantly less than the competition and for the most part offer similar programs. Questions, don’t hesitate to ask. Wishing you and your families a very SAFE, HAPPY AND HEALTHY holiday season. Stuart Berman

TOY DRIVE AND DONATION TOY DRIVE AND NORTH FORT MYERS EMS AND FIREMEN DONATION Hi, to all Tara Woods neighbors! Christmas is almost upon us, and our great traditional events that come with this season. Unfortunately, this year, some traditions will not happen because of the COVID Virus. There are two traditions that will always be fulfilling for us. One is the Toy Drive that we contribute to every year. The generosity of our neighbors has been overwhelming over the years and that can’t stop now. So, we will have a small drop-off change this year. The drop-off site will

be at 19436 Charleston Circle, Lot #167. The garage door will be open during the day for all your gifts. The Toy Drive pickup date will be Wednesday, December 16th. Secondly, also at this address, will be a donation drop box for the collection that we take up for our thank you to the North Fort Myers EMS and Firemen for all they do here at Tara Woods. Those gift certificates, as always, get distributed to them starting on Tuesday, December 22nd, 23rd, and 24th, for their holiday meals while they are on duty. (If the virus allows, there will be a collection box at Saturday Morning Coffee also for the Firemen & EMS.)

DID YOU GET YOUR REFUND? Both productions in 2020 of the Entertainers’ annual play and the New Image Chorus’ annual show were cancelled due to the Coronavirus pandemic. If you still have tickets for the play and/or the concert, you can get a refund.

Call Polly Brown to arrange a convenient time to bring your ticket(s) to her for a full refund. 239-731-1614 or cell 239-246-2391 Please be aware that they CAN NOT be used for next year’s performances.

WAITING IN LINE Did your pizza arrive late or not as hot as you would like? Did Aunt Rose complain how long she had to wait at the gate? Was the delivery you were expecting NOT DELIVERED? Have you submitted your permanent guest list and is it current? The list goes on and on. With the holidays coming, AND ALL YEAR ROUND, whenever you are expecting a delivery, visit, or anything in between, it is important that you NOTIFY THE GATE. Please be mindful that the gate attendants have no idea who is coming to your house. When the X Y Z Roofing Company is at the gate and you haven’t called to say they are coming, it falls upon the gate attendant to contact you. If your phone number is not current and we can’t reach you, that vendor is not coming into Tara Woods. You are not going to be happy and the vendor is not going to be happy. It’s amazing how many roofers and other professionals do not have their name or contact information on their vehicles. Aunt Rose is the third vehicle in line, and again the second vehicle was not expected because you did not notify the gate. Once again, the gate attendant has to go through the same procedure for each visitor. VERIFY THAT THEY ARE

AUTHORIZED TO COME INTO TARA WOODS. How do I avoid this? The night before or first thing in the morning call the gate at 239-731-1582 and tell them who is coming. Also make sure your permanent guest list is up to date. If you have multiple members of the family with the same last name, just give them that name. This will allow you more room for additional guests. For individuals on your permanent guest list you do not have to notify the gate that they are coming. If you are having guests coming for several days or weeks PLEASE call the office and get a visitor pass for them. Otherwise you will have to call the gate every day to authorize them in. The only exception to the above are UPS, Fedex, US Mail, Laser Ship, Amazon and anything medical. The gate attendants want to make sure that all your visitors and deliveries get through the gate as quickly and safely as possible. Doing your part goes a long way to make this happen. Please remember the gate attendants can only keep you safe if you help us help you. Remember WE ARE A TEAM. Thank you. Tara Woods Management

Investment Lessons from 2020

As the year draws to a close, it’s fair to say that we’ve all learned something about the social, political, physical and environmental forces that have affected everyone. And, in some ways, our lives will be changed, perhaps permanently. But as an investor, what lessons can you learn from 2020? Here are some to consider: • The markets look ahead. Here’s something many investors discovered in 2020: Investment prices don’t always move in the same direction as the overall economy. This might not have seemed apparent right after the COVID-19 pandemic struck in mid-February, as the overall economy and the stock market took big hits. But just about five weeks later, the markets began a rally that lasted several months. During this time, the economy also recovered somewhat, but still remains on weak footing. What can explain this discrepancy between the markets and economic activity? Essentially, economic numbers, such as the unemployment rate and gross domestic product (GDP), reflect what’s happening today, but the markets are always looking toward tomorrow, which means they are anticipating a stronger economic recovery and the results that come with it, such as greater corporate earnings in 2021. No one can say for sure what the future holds, but you can usually know the market’s opinion by its performance. • Opportunities will always exist for investors. Although the coronavirus seems unprecedented, the equity markets have rebounded from many crises before it. From war to global financial meltdowns, the market has seen it all. But even at the height of these events, when the markets might be most affected, individual segments or industries can do well. For example, in the current environment, when many people have been forced to work and shop from home, and get their entertainment online, it’s probably not surprising that some parts of the technology sector have seen their economic activity grow, along with their stock prices. Here’s the key point: Investment opportunities always exist, especially in times of market stress – and smart investors will find them and incorporate them into their portfolios in a way that’s appropriate for their goals and risk tolerance. • Patience and discipline can pay dividends. As mentioned above, the stock market dropped sharply in the weeks immediately following the pandemic, but then gained steadily for months afterward. Investors who tried to “cut losses” and exited the market likely did so at the wrong time and missed out on the beginning of the upturn. Unfortunately, this is not uncommon – investors who overreact to market declines often find themselves on the investment sidelines just when a new rally begins. Rather than being reactive in this way, you may be better off sticking with a long-term investment strategy, and buying and selling investments only when it makes sense for your situation, such as when you need to diversify your portfolio. For many reasons, it’s unlikely that we’ll see anything exactly like 2020 again. But some of the investment lessons we learned are applicable in every year – so keep them in mind for 2021 and beyond.

WE ARE NOT MEANT TO BE ALONE WE ARE NOT MEANT TO BE ALONE... The Good Book states this again and again. But this terrible pandemic forces us through social distancing and stay-at-home requirements to be separated from close personal contact with family and friends. We have to rely on the much more impersonal contact via telephone and email and zoom. So let’s consider why it’s so important for us to follow the Bible’s call to enjoy close loving relationships with family, friends, the creatures of God’s world, plants, flowers, and, indeed everything in God’s good world. Here’s a sobering statistic. In a study of 3,000 Iowa residents over the age of 65, like us here in Tara Woods, found that those older residents who did not take the time or make the time to enjoy close, loving relationships were four times more likely to get sick and have to go to a hospital or nursing home. And those same seniors had a death rate four times greater than their contemporaries who made time for close,

loving relationships. So, what can we do to enjoy such relationships? It starts, of course, with those of us who are married. As many of you know, I am a retired Pastor after more than four years of active ministry. Over those years, I had the privilege of performing the marriage ceremony for hundreds of couples. We make vows to love each other for better or worse, richer or poorer, in sickness and health, and now the pandemic causes us to be together 24/7. That can be tough, and so we need to ask God to help us be that much more loving to our spouse in this pandemic. Our faithful response to God’s call to be in close, loving relationships depends on how we treat our spouse. Thanks for listening, and next time we’ll consider how we can take our love for our spouse and apply it to our family and friends. Till then, have a Merry Christmas in spite of the pandemic and stay safe. Your neighbor, Barry Maberry

Mrs. Ravioli comes to visit her son Anthony for dinner. He lives with a female roommate, Maria. During the evening, his mother couldn’t help but notice how pretty Anthony’s roommate is. While watching the two interact, she started to wonder if there was more between Anthony and his roommate than met the eye. Reading his mom’s thoughts, Anthony volunteered, “I know what you must be thinking, but I assure you, Maria and I are just roommates.” About a week later, Maria came to Anthony saying, “Ever since your mother came to dinner, I’ve been unable to find the silver sugar bowl. You don’t suppose she took it, do you?” “Well, I doubt it, but I’ll email her, just to be sure.” So, he sat down and wrote an email: Dear Mama, I’m not saying that you “did” take the sugar

bowl from my house; I’m not saying that you “did not” take it. But the fact remains that it has been missing ever since you were here for dinner. Your Loving Son Anthony Several days later, Anthony received a response email from his Mama which read: Dear son, I’m not saying that you “do” sleep with Maria, and I’m not saying that you “do not” sleep with her. But the fact remains that if she was sleeping in her OWN bed, she would have found the sugar bowl by now. Your Loving Mama Contributed by Barb Simonson

ACTIVITIES, ACTIVITIES Permission was granted by the Office in November for the clubs and groups to decorate their trees in the Clubhouse for Christmas. Every effort was made to contact all the groups and offer them the opportunity to put up their tree on Saturday, November 28th. They add a little more Holiday cheer as you drive up the boulevard and around the Clubhouse. Thank you to those who volunteered to put up some of the outside decorations. Our community is looking festive, indeed! You can make it even jollier by decorating your own home. A prize will be offered for the most cheerfully decorated house. The Christmas Golf Cart parade will be held on Wednesday, December 9th. Please wear masks and maintain social distancing. We ask that you do not offer food or drink on the parade route. The parade will begin at 6:00 PM. Line up in the

Clubhouse parking lot starting at 5:00 PM. We encourage those who are not in the parade to come out and wave to “Santa” and see all the beautifully decorated carts as they travel throughout the community. There will be no Caroling in the Clubhouse after the parade. If you did decorate your group tree in the Clubhouse, please designate two to three people to come on Saturday, January 2nd, 2021 at 9:15 AM – not before – to undecorate and pack up your decorations. Please wear masks. Stay well. Please continue to follow safe procedures, which are designed for the safety of everyone around you, as well as yourself. Please feel free to contact me at any time if you have questions regarding the parties and events. Janet Daly, Activities Coordinator janetdaly@yahoo.com, 239-567-2285

So, Ladies and Gentlemen… this is my 70th article for The Columns! I have been writing this columns article since 2014. Some would think that I would run out of words to say. But no, my husband says he doesn’t think that could ever be possible. At least not in the fifty-seven years we have known each other. This year has been something to write about. Never in any of our lives have we experienced a year like 2020. I believe you all will agree that we are glad this year is coming to an end. In 2021 we can start fresh. It would be great to put the COVID-19, social distancing, face masks, hand sanitizer etc. behind us, but I am not sure it will happen that soon. This year also has been a very sad year, where we lost so many of our dear friends. While I realize that they have gone home to God, we still mourn their passing and remember the good times we had together. If this teaches us anything, it should teach us not to waste a moment with petty or mean actions or conversations. Life is too precious to waste it on those things. I spent the summer meeting some of the new people in Tara Woods. It was hard trying explain how “things are normally” and when “things get back to normal” we can all have fun times together. Well, normal might not ever be

returning to us like we remember, so we need to make our own new normal. Our parties and get-togethers might have to be a little different than before but they still will be fun if we choose to. Life is really what you make it. We all face challenges, each in our own way. But if you wake each day and determine that this will be a good day, it most likely will be. Our play this year will be a radio play which allows us to be socially distanced. If the same rules apply in March that are currently in effect, we will be required to have small audiences. We have added a Sunday Matinee to our Friday and Saturday nights in order to try to allow more people to enjoy our performances. We will share details about how the restrictions to our Clubhouse relate to our performance and audience at a later date. I hope that you will support our efforts to bring the Entertainers back to our stage. It’s hard to believe in less than a few weeks we’ll be celebrating 2020 Christmas here at Tara Woods. Sure, everyone couldn’t enjoy most of the activities here in Tara Woods, but slowly but surely everyone did their part on playing it SAFE, STRONG and SMART. Thank you for doing your part. Once again, I’m welcoming back our snowbirds to our community, and new residents. WELCOME. I like to mention a new furry four-footed friend in our community. Tom and Judy Powers got a new puppy upon their return from Up North. His name is Charlie, and he’s a King Charles Spaniel. If you have been living here for several years, we usually sponsor a Halloween Dog Costume contest. Judy had Cleoie, a terriermix of nine years, entered her in this event. Judy and Cleoie would give Bailey (who use to be the writer of these segments before he passed on and Shiloh took over) a run for dressing up. This summer Cleoie passed away, and Charlie has taken over to fulfill the hearts of the Powers. By having Charlie, he has to put his paws on the

trails, especially the trees here in Tara Woods. WELCOME, CHARLIE. Remember to pick up after us – like I state at all segments of Shiloh Speaks. Well, on this segment of Shiloh Speaks, I’m addressing MERRY CHRISTMAS 2020.

MERRY CHRISTMAS! M – Moment of time has no boundaries. E – Everyone (young and old) who lived during these trying months. R – Realizing there may be an end to all of this. R – Reality. It just doesn’t have a meaning of the world or state of things as they actually exist as opposed to an idealistic or rational idea of them. Y – Year. 2021 hopefully will be a better year for all. C – Cherish what we have and don’t take it for granted – no matter what obstacles may be in your paths. H – Happiness/Health to see that ALL that are here are SAFE, STRONG, and SMART. R – Remembering too the good times and put aside the bad. I – Impress oneself for being there for yourself and others. S – Seeing what will be in store for one and all to come. T – Time. Only 24 hours or 1,440 minutes, 60 minutes (and one minute has 60 seconds), so 24/hour/day times 60 minutes/hours time 60 seconds/minutes to 86,400 seconds day. M – Memory – a wonderful feeling we all can use in the right context. A – Attitude – Remember we are here for you – just for the asking. It’s what you make of it. S – Stressing. The rest of the year and the coming New Year 2021. HAPPY NEW YEAR Be SAFE, STRONG and SMART Well, my time is up for this month’s segment of Shiloh Speaks. Once again, have a MERRY CHRISTMAS and I’ll see you next year. HAPPY NEW YEAR. SHILOH

This is Old Glory. Is yours faded and torn? Retire her to a proper disposal. Drop her off at 19553 Charleston Circle (lot #12) or at the Guard House. Replacements are available from $7.00. Bob Glandorf

NEW ENGLAND CLUB Hello, New Englanders! Normally at this time I would be giving you information about our New England Club Christmas Party, and reminding you that sign-ups are mandatory, but sadly, this is not the case. Miss you all very much and the laughter and love we share at our great parties! Right now, I am hoping that we can at least get together a couple of times this season. I hope everyone has happy and healthy holidays; and for those of you traveling to our beautiful New England states, be safe and stay vigilant. Keeping our fingers crossed for the New Year. Judy Machnicz

NEW YORK / NEW JERSEY CLUB Not much new in Club news. I wouldn’t plan on Club meetings for quite a while. Those of you who volunteered to host a meeting or event from October 2020 - April 2021 - hold that thought! We can use those ideas for the 2021-22 season, unless something changes drastically in the next few months. I would like to take this opportunity to offer Happy Holiday wishes to all from the New York/New Jersey Club. No matter what’s happening around us, the spirit of the season lives within us. It may take on a different look, but I hope you celebrate with joy, love, peace and hope in a meaningful way to make your holiday special.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!! Stay safe. We’re not out of the woods yet. Please continue to follow the pandemic guidelines and be cautious. Janet Daly janetdaly@yahoo.com

TARA WOODS BINGO PROTOCOL Because we want everyone who wants to play Bingo to feel safe, and, more importantly, to BE safe, Bingo at Tara Woods will follow the CDC Guidelines and Hometown America’s requirements pertaining to the Clubhouse. These restrictions will be strictly adhered to and there will be no exceptions! • Tables will be sanitized prior to admission. • All workers will wear masks and gloves. • There will be only one (1) entry door and it will open at 5:45 PM. • Maximum people allowed in the hall is 50, including workers. • Temperatures will be taken at the door. Anyone with a temperature over 100.4 degrees will not be admitted. • Everyone must wear a mask when not in their seat at their table. • Only residents of Tara Woods can play. Visitors and/or guests are not allowed.

Proof of residency will be required at the door, such as your Tara Woods name tag or Florida ID showing your street address in Tara Woods. • Tables and chairs have been arranged to provide for social distancing and must not be moved or changed. • Due to the limited seating, there will be no saving seats for anyone. • There will be no concessions for now, but you may bring your own snacks and beverages. If anyone refuses to comply with these provisions, they will be asked to leave. Should they refuse to leave and cannot be persuaded to do so by others, the Bingo session will be terminated, and the hall will be vacated. No refunds will be given. These are very trying times and many of us are ready for something to change. If we all do our part and follow these guidelines, we can stay safe and have some fun. If you have any questions, call Polly Brown at 239-246-2391.

SPORTS, CARDS, and CRAFTS TENNIS NEWS BE SURE TO CHECK THE TENNIS BULLETIN BOARD ON A REGULAR BASIS FOR UPDATED INFORMATION ON WHAT IS GOING ON WITH TENNIS ACTIVITIES. TENNIS ASSOCIATION Nothing new to report this month. – Ed Sandre TENNIS LEAGUES With COVID-19 still active in the area, there is no inter-league tennis play scheduled at this time in Tara Woods. WOMEN’S LEAGUE Women’s Team – Angels Tara Woods is not presently allowing inter-league play, so there isn’t any information to share with you regarding that. However, I thought I would give you a little history lesson on the Women’s Tennis Teams from Tara Woods. The Tara Woods Angels existed long before I came to Tara Woods in 2009. Whether Tara Woods had one or two teams – depending on the number of women who signed up to play that year – one of the Women’s Teams was always called the Tara Woods Angels. Since I didn’t join the Tara Woods Women’s Tennis League until the 2010-11 season, I don’t have any historical information prior to that time. The following information is taken from my personal records. There were two Women’s Teams from Tara Woods for both the 2010-11 and 2011-12 tennis seasons. Both years the Angels team was captained by Dawn Benjamin. The other team was called the Devils and was captained both years by former resident Ruth Aspin.

We also had two teams for both the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons. The Angels, of course, made up one team with Dawn Benjamin as captain the first year (when they took first place) and Sharon Boehlke as captain the second year. The other team was named the Lady Bugs, with Henri La Liberty as the captain both years. We still had two Women’s Teams in 2014-15, with Sharon Boehlke again as the captain of the Angels. The second team was called the Jewels and was captained by Julie Wehrung. That season Tara Woods reigned as champions, as the Angels took first place and the Jewels took second place in the league. For both the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons, we had only one team. This team, named the Angels of course, had Sharon Boehlke again as the captain both years. The Angels tied for first place in 2015-16. In 2017-18 we had just enough women sign up to make two teams. The new team that year was the Fusion captained by Janice Johnston. The Angels team was again captained by Sharon Boehlke. In both 2018-19 and 2019-20 we had just one team again. Janice Johnston was the captain in 2018-19, and Pam Ahlers was the captain in 2019-20. Tara Woods again came out on top of the league both years, securing first place by at least ten games ahead of the second place team. We were in the process of planning for our 202021 tennis season when COVID-19 struck, and all competitive tennis play was suspended. I hope you enjoyed reading about our past tennis seasons. If I again feel ambitious, I may try to give you more Angels team information in a future issue of The Columns. This would be information from the very early years when the Tara Woods Angels team was actually formed. – Linda Engel

MEN’S LEAGUE White Team – Stallions Nothing new to report this month. – Glen Fisher / Art Frederick Blue Team – Tigers The North Fort Myers Senior Tennis League (NFMSTL) is not playing at this time due to COVID19 restrictions in the parks that host the league’s tennis teams. The Tara Woods Tigers are waiting for the results of our Captains Meeting on December 7th for further guidance. At this point, all tennis is at the mercy of COVID-19 restrictions and the rules of the host parks. Hopefully things will change for the better soon. – Al Dion / Mike O’Hearn Blue Team – Mustangs Nothing new to report this month. – Mike Renzulli ROUND ROBINS The new season for the Tennis Association has started. As I write this article, the first Round Robin was to be played on November 22nd. As more of our tennis players return to Tara Woods we have to consider what the season will include. We have to think about the health and situations we must face in the future. We have the next Round Robin scheduled for January 24th. We hope our opportunity to play the season improves and gets back to normal. We will all work and seek input as to what our future may bring us. Watch the Tennis Bulletin Board for changes and new procedures at the courts. – Dale Holat, Round Robin Coordinator Submitted by Linda Engel

ATTENTION VETERANS!!

Many of you are not aware of USAA Auto and Home Insurance specifically designed for veterans AND THEIR FAMILY MEMBERS: spouses, brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren etc. I can attest to the fact that the savings are substantial (for myself and my family) since becoming a member several years ago. You just need to call: 1-800-531-8722 to enroll. YOU SERVED – NOW YOU CAN SAVE! Sam Topping, U.S. Army

CLUBHOUSE MINISTRIES

For new residents of Tara Woods and existing residents too, the Clubhouse Ministries invite you to join one of their Bible study classes, which are held in the Clubhouse Meeting Room every Tuesday morning at 10:00 AM. These meetings give you an opportunity to make new friends as you study the Scriptures in relaxed and enjoyable surroundings. We are a non-denominational group. No need to make reservations, folks! Just stop by any Tuesday morning at 10:00 AM. Come join us! Ann Scott

Inspiration Hour You will live as long as God wants you to live. Not less or more. You don’t determine your date of birth, and you don’t determine the date of your death. You do, however, have a lot to say about that time in the middle. That is why Psalm 90:12 says, ‘So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”

Donna Erhardt

When in Doubt – Throw it out! No Styrofoam! Especially NO plastic bags! They can be deposited at Publix in the green bins outside as well as Styrofoam egg cartons. Did you know soda cans can be picked up on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month by volunteers? They are sold and the money helps fund OUR Homeowners Association. Did you know, that if you include an unrecyclable item in your bin, the recyclers must go through it by hand and pull them out, otherwise the entire load goes in the trash! Approved recyclables include: • Paper - (excluding shredded, waxed, metallic or soiled). • Cardboard - (excluding those with a waxed coating). • Plastic - (excludes plastic bags, styrofoam, hazardous materials). • Glass - green, brown and clear are all acceptable. • Cans - Aluminum or steel (tin) - Homeowners Association will also pick up your aluminum cans on the 1st and 3rd, Saturday of the month curbside. For additional information, go to: http://leegov.com/solidwaste/residential/recycling

BREAKING NEWS CANS TO THE CURB PUT YOUR ALUMINUM CANS OUT TO THE CURB ON THE 1ST AND 3RD SATURDAY OF EACH MONTH BY 9:00 AM OUR DEDICATED VOLUNTEERS WILL PICK THEM UP WHY? – REVENUE FROM THE CANS HELP FUND YOUR HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION RECYCLING BY “CANS TO THE CURB” IT IS GOOD FOR US AND OUR ENVIRONMENT CANS TO THE CURB!!!
