MASTER IN FASHION MANAGEMENT HELD IN THE OFFICE OF IID IN SHANGHAI
CoThinking Education Group Ltd Associazione Start Italy Zhejiang Maylink Co. Ltd Shanghai Concentration Education Technology Ltd. (SCET) Shanghai International Fashion Education Center (SIFEC) In 2018 IID was part of a delegation to participate in B2B meetings with Chinese companies in the Nankang Furniture District (Ganzhou, China). The event took place over three days of conferences and B2B meetings, organized by Zhejiang Maylink Group Ltd (promoter, Claudia Ferrari, Sonia Bao) with the support of the Association for Industrial Design (ADI) – Alessia Galimberti . IID was invited to Maria Cristina Lalli, referent for the regional project to promote the "Welcome Umbria" territory and supported in logistics by the "China to Italy" Association, contact person Chiara Bramani. Participants together with IID leading companies such as Italian Atelier and Zanotta Spa. The meetings were also promoted by the Chinese institutions in the persons of ministers and government members, Deputy Mayor Bing Xu and others, calling on local television networks to advertise the event. For the Chinese training, prof. Jinfa Huang of the Faculty of Design of the Jiangxi Polytechnic and prof. Zhang Xu of the “Tongji Architectural Design Group”. On April 14, 2018, a protocol was concluded with the Chinese company CoThinking Education Group Ltd for the launch of specialization courses in Design. Among the obligations assumed by IID is that of providing the training part, including programs, lectures and teaching material to structure the courses; the partner's obligations include those relating to the promotional and recruitment activities of potential students in China. The partner then subcontracted its obligation to a trusted company approved by IID: Shanghai Concentration Education Technology (SCET) represented by Eng. Hao Chen (also present at the time of signing the protocol at the IID headquarters). The promotional activities of the course began in the autumn of the same year through the SCET. In December 2018, the annual specialization course in weekend formula "Master in Fashion Management" starts in Shanghai, where SCET ‐ a company nominated by the partner of IID Cothinking ‐ has entered into a partnership agreement for the use of premises and canteen services with the government training center SIFEC (Shanghai International Fashion Education Technology). The first professor to leave for Shanghai holding a Masterclass on the luxury market representing the Institute is Giorgio Motta of the Kering group, Director of "The Mall" outlet. Subsequently, the Masterclasses are held by IID representatives Francesca Antonini, Isabella Cascianelli, Andrea Lenterna, Alfredo Mattiroli and others. In 2019 the IID / SCET agreement was formalized and ratified.

Consolato d’Italia a Mumbai Kuche7 Ltd Italian Trade Agency Twinke Creations Associazione Uni‐Italia Somaiya College Wonderchef Appliance Ltd SNDT College of Women The internationalization activity in India was born from a first contact by Dr. Nicola Ricciuto, International Developer of the Indian company Wonderchef. The Indian company asks the Institute for an innovative proposal for the design of: a) a re‐branding of the brand for the Western market; b) setting up new franchises for the western market; c) a line of innovative products for the kitchen. This first project is successfully completed so that the company sponsors a trip by paying flights / food / accommodation to IID students in India at its headquarters. The collaboration with this company is repeated the following year, with reference to a cosmetic product. Given the appreciation of Italian Design found in Wonderchef, the Institute decides to better explore the market by sending partner Benedetta Risolo to Mumbai for six months as its delegate. The latter part then in January 2019 with an Indian visa valid for n. 6 months to explore the local market and find opportunities for Italian Design. IID undertakes excellent relations with the Italian Consulate in Mumbai in the person of the Consul Stefania Costanza, being officially invited to strategic cooperation and social gathering events for Italian companies in Mumbai (eg Republic Day 15/03/2019). During these months IID has concluded the following agreements: a) agreement with the Italian Trade Agency (ICE) of Mumbai ‐ Dr. Fabrizio Giustarini; b) partnership agreement with the Indian company Kuche7; c) employment contract in the role of “Senior Designer” for a former IID student in a company in Mumbai; d) partnership agreement with the Indian company Twinkle Creations; e) educational agreement with Somaiya College of Mumbai.
OUTLOOK
WORKSHOP SESSIONS IN INDIA ON MADE IN ITALY
In the following months, ITA/ICE launched the promotion of IID summer courses, sending, at the end of the work, a useful report of the activity carried out. Following the well‐conducted work by the ITA / ICE office, the Institute decided to renew the collaboration by commissioning them to promote a specialization course in Made in Italy at its headquarters in Perugia for students who have completed a first post‐diploma study cycle in Design. In February, 2020 Benedetta Risolo, meanwhile hired by the company, left for Mumbai for a month for a series of promotional meetings with n. 15 Indian universities, colleges and training institutes in the cities of Mumbai, Andheri, Santacruz, Thane, Pune and Panvel. During these meetings, attended by the Consul Stefania Costanza and Dr. Giustarini of the ICE / ITA, IID promoted not only its courses but the territory, starting from Italy and deepening the Umbria Region both in the historical industrial aspect and its tourist potential. During this tour, collaborations were also initiated, still at the very early stage, with other companies interested in coming into contact with Italian design, mainly in the construction sector (e.g. contractor of the new Marriot Hotel in Panvel) which have offices in India and in the United Arab Emirates, Dubai and London. As of May 2020, the prospects of having incoming foreign students are made more difficult by the spread of the Covid‐19 virus, therefore the training activities have been brought back, at least temporarily, to the telematic mode so as not to waste the energy and resources used in the promotional tour.
KUCHE7
The former student Damiano Disperati then moved to the partner company as Senior Designer, having advantageous working conditions such as a car with driver and accommodation in the luxurious "Lodha Apartments" in Mumbai. IID received numerous positive feedbacks from the student both through instant messaging systems and by email and, lastly, a video‐testimony published on the YouTube site2.
SOMAIYA COLLEGE
In autumn 2019, the first academic project was launched in collaboration with this prestigious Indian college3. Some students of the third year of the IID course interacted with the designers of Somaiya College, coordinated by Dr. Judy Frater, in order to design and create together a collection of garments and accessories to be exhibited at the final event of the academic year of IID “Design Show”, which will be held at the Podiani Hall of the National Gallery of Umbria in June 2020, as per previous agreements with the Ministry for Cultural Heritage. Furthermore, in execution of the stipulated agreement, the college was able to grant its students training credits for participation in the workshop held by IID in February 20204.
