a pinakabagong teleserye ni Piolo Pascual na Hawak Kamay, ang karakter niya ay magiging tagapagalaga sa apat na bata. Hindi na bago kay Piolo na gumanap bilang isang ama ngunit sa pagtanggap niya sa ganitong klaseng role, natanong siya ng ilang press kung sa palagay niya ba ay kabawasan ito sa kanyang estado bilang isang hunk na pinagpapantasyahan at pinapangarap.

“I don’t think it should diminish your status or whatever just because you are a father with four kids. Wala akong problema sa ganun. It’s kind of overwhelming nung sinabi nila na apat yung magiging anak ko pero okay lang naman, trabaho lang naman at maganda naman yung istorya. I am all for the story, basta alam kong maganda yung konsepto, something different, something new I am all for it. Wala akong problema sa magmumukha kang matanda, I have a 17-year-old son so these are kids, I am okay.”

Nagbigay din ng reaksiyon si Piolo tungkol sa pagpapakasal kamakailan lang ng dati niyang kasamahan sa The Hunks at kaibigan na si Jericho Rosales kay Kim Jones. Masaya si Piolo na lumagay na sa tahimik ang kaibigan, “I am happy for Jericho and Kim, because ang tagal na rin nun. Si Jericho naman naghihintay na lang yan eh, and hindi na rin naman kami bumabata, lahat kami may edad na rin so sunodsunod naman na siguro yan at sunod-sunod na rin yan.

Masyado lang tayong busy sa trabaho pero siyempre yung mga ganyang bagay dumarating at dumarating lang yan sa atin.”

Kaya naman nang mabuksan ang paksa sa pagpapakasal at paglagay sa tahimik, kailan naman ang panahon na siya naman ang magkakaroon ng pagkakataon. “I hope soon, you know. I promised my son to give more time before he turns 18 which is next year. So hopefully before ako mag-kwarenta makahanap na rin tayo ng pwede nating makasama sa habangbuhay pero hindi naman ako nagpapapressure, masyado akong nasasanay na ganitong buhay na kasal sa trabaho, na on-call na daig mo pa ang doctor na pinapadala ka sa kung saan-saan, para akong social worker so okay naman. Siguro time management kasi mahirap pagsabay-sabayin lahat ng bagay eh so lalo na ako mahilig ako sa pahinga na at least nakakapagpahinga ako kapag walang trabaho at least.

Bilang nabukas na rin ang paksa tungkol sa kanyang anak, aminado si Piolo na nais talaga ng kanyang anak na sundan ang kanyang yapak sa pag-aartista. Kwento ni Piolo sa ngayon ay katatapos lamang ni Iñigo na magtanghal ng isang musical sa kanyang eskwelahan at ngayon ay nag-audition pa ito sa isang boy band.

“Mas busy pa sa akin yung anak ko. Kagagaling lang niya sa musical, nagmusical siya sa school nila. He auditioned for a boy band and he might get the part and it’s a Christian Boy Band in the States basta ang sabi ko sa kanya as long as it doesn’t get in the way of his education. I made him promise na tapusin mo lang yung high school, yun lang talaga yung deal ko e.

Hindi mo naman mapipigilan yan inevitable naman yan eh siya mismo ang nagsabi sa akin na he knows that he is going to follow my footsteps. Ayoko, dinidiscourage ko kasi mahirap ang trabaho… pero wala akong magagawa.”

At kung saka-sakaling magtuloy-tuloy ang career ni Iñigo sa show business, nang matanong kung may posibilidad bang maging stage dad si Piolo, ang mabilis na naging tugon ng aktor, “Hindi, I am not going to be a stage dad. If there is anything that I [would advise] is to rest, huwag mabuburn out, huwag tanggapin lahat ng dumarating. Para sa akin, pacing, balance, and most important pag-aaral. Kasi ang sabi ko artista ka nga pero wala kang pinag-aralan paano ka kapag ininterview ka, ‘di ba? So sabi ko sa kanya it’s better to have something kasi in case… meron kang fallback in case you don’t make it big and you don’t succeed. It’s better to have a degree at kung may pinag-aralan ka kaya mong humarap sa kahit na kanino but I know for sure that I am not going to be a stage dad kasi lalaki yung bata eh hindi naman naman kailangang bantayan yan eh and his mommy is there naman e. His mommy is always around.”

wo weeks after revealing his new and improved physique in Boracay, a leaner John Lloyd Cruz took his transformation to the next level by posing for his first ever shirtless billboard.

The billboard which can be found along EDSA-Kalayaan Avenue in Makati City features a relatively toned Cruz together with Dyesebel star Anne Curtis, his co-endorser. The caption “Two hot superbods made possible by Superbods Diet & Workout” was emblazoned on the billboard to accompany the revealing photo.

The Home Sweetie Home star took on the runway of the 2014 Century Tuna Superbods event in Boracay two weeks ago where he first teased the public with his sexier body. However, much to his fans dismay, Cruz sashayed down the runway with a tank top on and refused to take it off.

After undertaking the six-week fitness challenge wherein he was tasked to work out and eat healthy, Cruz happily shared in a previous ABS-CBN News report that he lost 18 pounds. From 170 pounds, Cruz now weighs 152 pounds.

“Sinabi ko nung I turned 30 last year, sinabi ko na isa ‘yun sa goals ko – na maging mas fit, maging healthier and magkaroon ng balanced lifestyle talaga. Mahirap ‘yung puro ka lang trabaho because we are not getting any younger so dapat talaga balanced,” he said.

Atty. Topacio discusses Claudine Barretto’s case & his part in Deniece Cornejo’s legal battle

Ferdinand Topacio kaugnay ng mga high-profile cases na “hinahawakan” niya katulad ng mga kaso ni Claudine Barretto at Deniece Cornejo.

Sa kaso ni Deniece, nilinaw ni Atty. Topacio na legal counsel siya ng pamilya ni Deniece Cornejo, ngunit hindi siya abogado ni Deniece. Kaibigan niya diumano ang Uncle-Lolo ni Deniece na si Rod Cornejo. Isang dekada na diumano ang nakakaraan nang bagitong abogado pa lang siya ay lumapit siya kay Manong Rod upang magpatulong kung paano maghandle ng media. Ayon pa kay Atty. Topacio, nang himukin ni Manong Rod, in public, na sumuko si Denice ay katabi siya nito at binibigyan ng legal advice ang dating media executive. Dagdag pa niya, gagabayan niya ang pamilya sa pagharap ng mga kaso ni Deniece pero hindi siya directly involved sa gagawing proseso ng mga abogado ni Deniece.

Bilang abogado naman ni Claudine, sinabi niya na nadismiss ang kasong qualified theft laban sa dalawang katulong ni Claudine.

Paglilinaw ni Atty. Topacio, tinatawag na qualified theft kapag ang gumawa ng pagnanakaw ay mga taong pinagkakatiwalaan mo. May breach of trust na nangyari kung kaya mas malaki diumano ang kaparusahan ng batas laban dito. Kaiba pa ito sa theft na hindi trusted person ang may sala at sa robbery na may violence.

Dagdag pa ni Atty. Topacio, sa mag-asawa walang “Claudine’s” o “Raymart’s kung kaya ang pagpapakuha ng gamit ni Raymart

sa mga katulong ng “kanyang” mga gamit ay form of “economic abuse.”

Economic abuse ay kapag daw “you deprive someone materially or you make someone dependent on you financially.”

Na-dismiss man ang kasong qualified theft, umusad naman ang isang kaso laban kay Raymart Santiago na asawa ni Claudine na may kinalaman sa RA9262 o antiViolence Against Women and their Children Act. Umusad ito sapagka’t may two counts of physical violence na binigyang pansin ng korte. Kaya raw, ayon pa kay Atty. Topacio,“navindicate” sila dahil noon sinasabi ng kampo ni Raymart na sinasaktan lang ni Claudine ang sarili niya.

Nag-re-reach out naman daw si Claudine kay Raymart pag dating sa mga anak nila na si Sabina at Santino. Inimbita diumano ni Claudine si Raymart sa dance recital ni Sabina ngayong Mayo 29 at sa napag-alaman nila bumili naman ng tickets si Raymart. “Very nil” na diumano ang chance na magkaayos pa si Claudine at Raymart pero pagdating sa mga bata ay may pagasa pa naman. May isang insidente lang diumano nang dumalaw si Raymart sa mga bata na, “may konting resistance on the part of the children.”

Ipinakita rin ni Atty. Topacio ang straight A grades ni Santino sa host na si Kris Aquino dahil ibinilin daw ito ni Claudine at very proud si Claudine. Gusto ni Claudine ipaalam sa pamamagitan nito na she’s a good mother at maayos ang “home life” ng mga bata. Sa tanong naman kung nahihirapan financially si Claudine, sinagot ni Atty Topacio na, “I don’t think so. She’s able to maintain yung lifestyle that the

children have been accustomed to, they go to good schools, and even yung payments niya sa amin as a law firm e up to date.”

Sinabi rin niya na hindi pro-bono ang pagiging abogado niya kay Claudine. Ibinato rin ni Kris na may love angle pa diumano sa usaping ito, sagot naman ni Atty. Topacio, “I dont think so, she’s the optimum star sino ba naman ako and I’m happily married.”

Isang rebelasyon naman nang sinabi ni Boy Abunda na big supporter si Atty. Topacio ng LGBT community. Hindi na nasagot ni Atty. Topacio kung bakit, ngunit ipinagmalaki niya na siya ay idineklara ng “Ladlad” bilang first honorary gay ng Pilipinas. Pahabol ni Atty. Topacio “I’m proud to say, beki akech!”

Atom Araullo admits, ‘Actually, I’m very goofy’

A

s the host of the ABS-CBN news program Red Alert, Atom Araullo shares with Filipino viewers how to prepare for different kinds of emergency situations. One thing that has not escaped the public aside from his good reporting skills are his mestizo good looks which makes him one of the most eligible bachelors in news reporting today.

The 30-year-old journalist revealed what he feels about the compliments. “I don’t know, I think it’s flattering. Who doesn’t want to be called attractive? But again for reporters, while it’s a welcome remark, it’s both a good thing and a bad thing. Being reporters, you have to kind of separate yourself from those kinds of concerns. It’s always nice to look good and it helps when you’re good looking in your reports, but it can distract as well. So the important thing is that you focus on the job,” he told Push.

The talented journalist said that he looks up to several veterans in the broadcasting industry. “I admire a lot of different reporters who have their own skill sets. I always mention Tony Velasquez. I admire him as an anchor, his mastery of English and Filipino. Ces Drilon is a fearless reporter. Anthony Taberna is very spontaneous and can make the most awkward interviews become light. Ted Failon can explain important national issues to the

common Filipino. Korina Sanchez is awesome on-cam; she projects so well. Kabayan Noli De Castro has the longevity and the influence that many, many journalists can only dream of and not only in the organization of ABS-CBN but also journalists from the other networks.

There’s a lot to learn from these veteran reporters,” he said.

Atom said that even though he started out hosting on TV at an early age, he actually wanted to start a career as a scientist after he graduated from the University of the Philippines. “Actually this is an often repeated kuwento, I graduated from Applied Physics. I took up a course that was very different from mass media. The objective was to become a researcher, a scientist, maybe teaching in the academe. Media happened serendipitously, but you can say that it’s both an accident but planned at the same time kasi matagal na akong nagtratrabaho sa TV eh nung bata ako kaya meron akong idea kung ano ba yung trabaho sa TV. Sa isang banda, habang tumatanda na-realize ko rin na napakalaki rin ng papel na ginagampanan ng mga mamahayag kaya nung nagkaroon ako ng pagkakataon na maging journalist, sinubukan ko kasi interesado ako at nag-enjoy ako kaya eto andito pa rin,” he shared.

Even after making a guest appearance on Gandang Gabi Vice earlier this year, Atom said he has no

intention of crossing into showbiz.

“I don’t want to discriminate. A lot of the things that I ended up doing in life are the result of accidents. It’s a result of keeping an open mind to do things that are not necessarily in my comfort zone. When I was a kid, I was interested in science so I joined the science club and I made kites. I like experimenting with different chemicals, that sort of thing. But my dad pushed me to join the children’s theater in Ateneo and I ended up really, really enjoying that, being a part of many productions not only in UP but even outside of UP,” he said.

Atom said he has a very different persona off-camera from the serious and authoritative journalist side people often see. “Off-cam actually I’m very goofy (laughs). I don’t like taking myself seriously. In fact, it was a little difficult for me doing the serious reporting for a while kasi ‘pag napapanuod ko sarili ko sa TV natatawa ako sa sarili ko (laughs).

But nakapag-practice din naman so nasanay din,” he added.

Heart Evangelista denies being affected by Jericho Rosales’s wedding

Ayon kay Heart, “I’m just happy that I found my lifetime partner, so it doesn’t really matter when you tie the knot.”

Kaugnay nito, naiintriga si Heart na apektado siya sa pagpapakasal ng dati nitong nobyo na si Jericho Rosales sa host-model na si Kim Jones. Nag-post kasi si Heart sa kanyang instagram account ng isang malungkot na painting nang mismong araw ng kasal ni Jericho at Kim. Pinabulaanan naman ito ni Heart.

“Of course not, kaloka naman, but they keep tagging me pero okay lang. That’s life, you know we all move on.” Dagdag pa ni Heart, ang pagpinta niyang muli ay inspired ng mapait na relationship niya ngayon with her mom. Atty. Claire Castro on the legal rights of a mistress: ‘Hindi pwedeng mabigyan ng malaking karapatan

Nilinaw ni Atty. Castro na kapag ang lalaki ang nangaliwa ang tawag dito ay “concubinage” at kapag babae naman ang nangaliwa ang tawag dito ay “adultery.” Kapag concubinage ay may mga elements diumanong kailangan patunayan, katulad ng “cohabitation” o pagtira sa iisang bubong, at pagkakaroon ng “sexual relationship in a very scandalous manner.”

Aminado naman si Atty. Castro sa pagkakaroon ng double standard sa ating batas sapagka’t kapag adultery diumano, sapat na ang mapatunayan na nagkaroon ng “sexual intercourse” ang asawang babae at sapat na ang pagkakaroon ng pruweba, kahit walang “cohabitation” para mapatunayang nangangaliwa siya.

Kabilang pa rito na kapag napatunayang guilty ang babae sa adultery mapapatawan siya ng six years of imprisonment, samantalang sa concubinage ay maximum number of years of imprisonment lang ang apat na taon.

Kasama na sa “double standard” na ito na kapag nahuli ang babae na nakikipagtalik at napatay ang babae ng kanyang asawa, magkakaroon ng criminal liability ang asawa niyang bumaril sa kanya ngunit mapapawalang sala ito.

Sa ngayon diumano hindi pa na-aamyendahan ang mga batas na ito. Ang “konswelo” na lamang daw ng mga Filipina ay ang pagkakaroon ng RA9262 na kilala rin bilang Anti-Violence against Women and their Children Act dahil malawak ang saklaw ng batas na ito. Nakapaloob sa batas na ito ang karapatan ng babaeng mabigyan ng proteksyon kapag nagkaroon siya ng “hindi magandang relasyon sa kanyang sa asawa kabilang na ang emotional at psychological abuse.”

Kaya nga lang daw, kalimitan inuurong ng asawang babae ang kaso laban sa asawa kapag humingi na ng tawad ang lalaki lalo pa’t kailangan niya ng financial support nito. Hindi raw pinapayagan ng korte ang babae na iatras ang kaso laban sa asawa niya kapag naisampa na, kaya lang raw pagdating ng arraignment at walang witness, walang magagawa ang korte kundi i-dismiss ang kaso.

Sa karapatan naman ng isang kabit, nilinaw ni Atty. Castro na may karapatan ang illegitimate children ngunit wala masyadong karapatan ang isang kabit. Kapag namatay ang kinakasama niya, ang karapatan lamang niya ay sa properties na naipundar nila ng kinakasama.

s a young mom, Valerie Concepcion admitted she still can’t help but feel overwhelmed when she thinks about her daughter Fionna who is starting fifth grade this coming June. “I don’t know. I still can’t believe na may grade five na ako (laughs). Last week she asked me, ‘Mom, can I eat out with my friends sa Eastwood?’ Sabi ko, ‘What? Why can’t you just go to Katipunan para near lang? Pero sabi ko sige papayag ako basta dun lang ako sa kabilang table.’ (laughs) As a mom, I guess parang barkada ako. But pag kailangang i-disiplina, dini-disiplina naman. Like pinapagalitan ko rin kapag kailangan kasi kapag hindi iisipin niya na laging tama yung ginagawa niya eh and that can’t be so nagiging strict ako kapag kailangan but if not we’re like barkada lang. Pag nasa mall kami, tatanungin siya ng mga tindera kung ate niya ako (laughs) akala magkapatid kami so yun,” she shared during her interview with Push on the set of Ipaglaban Mo last May 8.

The 26-year-old actress-host said she had to grow up faster than her peers after becoming a mother at an early age. “Siguro most challenging for me is like me I’m a busy single mom and so wala siyang attention ng dad so kailangan punuan ko yun but because I am busy parang minsan nagkukulang din ako.

Siguro yung pinaka-challenge is how to balance your time na nag-wu-work ka tapos ako pa ngayon nagbalik ako sa school.

Okay naman kasi kakatapos lang ng first sem ko so enrollment ulit namin sa last week of May. As in freshman ako because I was pregnant eh nung nag-graduate ako ng high school so I didn’t have the time to go to college. So I finally decided na magschool so now I’m taking up Marketing and nakatapos na ako ng first sem ko. Yun lang siguro yung pinaka-challenging, yung pag-balance ng time and of course kung paano mo didisiplinahin kasi lahat naman ng bata iba-iba yung ugali, ang hirap timplahin minsan. Pero ang pinakamaganda sa pagiging mom is I feel like everything that I do has purpose. Like nagkaroon ng direction yung life mo na, ‘Okay I’m dong this for my daughter, I’m doing this for Fionna.’ Laging ganun yung na-fi-feel mo at nasa isip mo,” she explained.

For Mother’s Day, Valerie said she and her daughter have no big plans. “Wala nga eh. Siguro we’re going to eat out pero nothing really special. Birthday ng pamangkin ko this week and then birthday din ng dad ko the other day so isi-celebrate namin sa bahay this weekend. So may party sa bahay. Parang feeling ko pagsa-sama-samahin na yung lahat ng celebration kasi lahat ng kamag-anak namin mula sa father’s side at mother’s side pupunta sa bahay,” she said.

The single mom said she and her daughter have a lot in common which is why they also enjoy doing a lot of things together. “May similar interests kami I think sa pagkanta. Mahilig din siya sa pagkanta kaya right now this summer pinapag-voice lessons ko siya kasi yun talaga yung hilig niya. Our favorite thing to do together is movies, we eat out and shopping (laughs).

Ewan ko for some reason hindi siya kikay, hindi siya mahilig magpa-nails and stuff or yung sa hair, whatever. Hindi siya mahilig sa ganun but pag sinabi mo sa kanya shopping maaga siya matutulog para maaga magising, ganun (laughs),” she said.

After recently taping an episode of Ipaglaban Mo with Bugoy Carino, Valerie said she does not mind playing mommy roles now. “Naku wala akong problema dun kasi in real life naman I’m a mom na din di ba? My daughter is turning 10 na din this year so parang choosy pa ba ako sa role? (laughs) Okay naman. Wala namang problema kapag na-offer-an ako ng mommy roles. Nung nabasa ko kasi yung script, una kong nakita siyempre ay si kuya Lino Cayetano. I’ve known him for some time na, mga eight years na yata but I’ve never worked with him as a director, kumbaga I’ve known him during the campaign nila kuya Alan (Cayetano) nung nagka-campaign ako for them. But I don’t know him through work sa TV as a director. I was really excited when I found out na siya yung director ng episode namin. And when I read the script, naiiyak na ako so plinano ko agad paano ko iaarte yung eksena at ipakita yung character ko. Basically, na-excite ako, yun yun (laughs),” she admitted.

Valerie also happily shared the state of her lovelife. “I do have a boyfriend right now na non-showbiz pero bago lang, mga three months. Okay naman. I met him through friends. Actually ang nakakatuwa dun Fionna is so comfortable with him like the other day I was taping and then lumabas sila na silang dalawa lang, kumain sila, nag-shopping (laughs). Ang nakakatuwa is that you can see na sobrang comfortable si Fionna to go with him without a yaya, just the two of them you know,” she said.

ctor Zoren Legaspi is ready to face the tax evasion raps lodged by the Bureau of Internal Revenue against him.

In an exclusive interview with Push.com.ph at Jollibee’s first mass picnic event titled Family Bee Day at the Quirino Grandstand on May 10, the head of the famed Legaspi family maintained that he fully understands where the BIR is coming from.

“Well I’ve given my statement already. Wala naman akong sama ng loob, wala akong galit sa kanila.

I know they’re just doing their jobs,” stated Zoren.

Proving that he is willing to cooperate to the best of his abilities, as what he has emphasized on his official statement as released by his manager Shirley Kuan after the news broke out, Zoren shared that he immediately tried to trace when and where the supposed irregularities on his tax filing happen.

“Right after the press con, it was Thursday, the following day pinapunta ko na ‘yung accountant ko and my trusted secretary to find out kung saan kami talaga nagkamali. So ayun, so inaalaam namin kung saan ang negligence namin. So ‘yun ang

hinahanap muna namin,” explained Carmina’s husband.

According to Zoren, they have already acquired the necessary report for his tax evasion case.

“May report pero iki-clear pa namin sa Monday pero so far wala namang malaking problema and i’m willing to face the music. Tanungin mo ulit ako sa presscon namin sa Thursday,” he ended smiling.

The father of two is currently facing a P4.45 million tax evasion charge filed by the BIR for supposedly failing to properly file his income tax for taxable years 2010 and 2012.

In the alpha list of withholding agents obtained by BIR, the department learned that his total income for 2010 is P9.64 million and P6.49 million in 2012.

“We were provided copies of Legaspi’s ITR [income tax returns] for the years 2010 and 2012. A comparison of the documents and information at hand showed Legaspi declared as gross income in his ITR filed with the BIR P6.79 million in 2010, when it should be P9.64 million. And in 2012, P1.82 million when it should be P6.49 million,” she said.

“He substantially underdeclared his income tax by 42% in 2010 and 256% in 2012. We are assessing him with total income tax liability for taxable years 2010 and 2012 for total of P4.45 million,” BIR commissioner Kim Henares said.

The case against Legaspi is the 240th filed under the BIR’s Run After Tax Evaders (RATE) program under President Noynoy Aquino’s administration.

Apart from Zoren, the BIR had also recently filed tax evasion charges against other high-profile figures such as controversial businessman Cedric Lee and former Philippine Medical Association President Leo Olarte before the Department of Justice.

Carmina Villaroel admits panicking over husband Zoren Legaspi’s tax evasion case

ost-actress Carmina Villaroel didn’t mince her words that she was shocked and actually “clueless” over the fact that her husband was been charged by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) with tax evasion last Thursday.

Carmina took to her show Buzz ng Bayan’s Sunday episode to air her reaction about the current issue being faced by her husband.

“Pati ako naloka. Thursday lumabas ‘yung issue. That day, naguluhan din kaming dalawa ni Zoren. Hindi rin namin alam what went wrong because nagbabayad kami ng buwis ni Zoren. [Prior to that], wala talagang [indication] that’s why we were clueless. Talaga kami ‘Ha, anong nangyari?’ Malinaw kasi sa amin na nagbabayad kami. Nagpanic kami,” she said.

According to her, upon learning about the charge, her husband immediately responded by sending his secretary and accountant to settle the matter with BIR. “Tomorrow babalik ulit dun ‘yung accountant and ‘yung sister-in-law ko to present our documents, our papers. Kasi ‘yun lang naman ang gusto nila, na makita ‘yung papeles na meron kami. Sa kaso ni Zoren, meron yata siyang hindi nabayaran, hindi ako masyadong sure. That’s why bukas pupunta sila ulit doon to

clarify everything,” she said.

In an interview during his contract signing with ABS-CBN on Wednesday, April 30, the Aquino and Abunda Tonight host gamely shared his “fascinating” experience at the historical state dinner even if he failed to get close to President Obama.

“Maganda kasi ito ang kauna-unahang pagkakataon na naimbitahan ako sa state dinner. It was a fascinating experience. ‘Yung protocol at tsaka ‘yung simple. It wasn’t a decadent affair pero may elegance,” he described.

The veteran host-columnist wasn’t able to keep from gushing over people he met at the affair.

“Bumabalik ‘yung pagiging taga-hanga ika nga and I was just watching.”

“The food was excellent. Doon, right in the same hall nakikita mo ‘yung mga taong nababasa mo sa dyaryo and sabi ko nga I was fan really. Maraming mga senador, maraming mga richest people in this country, the influences, and the most photographed people. Ang gandang panoorin,” he added.

What can he say about President

Obama? “Iba ‘yung presence. May aura talaga siya. I listened to his short speech iba talaga sya. He’s a charismatic leader ika nga sa social development at kapag siya ang nagsasalita parang ikaw ang kinakausap. Meron siyang ganon and ikaw naman you have this feeling of being special because he’s talking to you. It’s a gift eh.

One of the much-contested aspects of President Obama’s visit was the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement which paves the way for the increased presence of American troops in the country and gives them wider access to military bases.

Speaking of politics, Abunda seemed to have had a change-ofheart as he shared that he’s now bowing out from the possibility of running for office in the upcoming 2016 national elections.

“Kasi dati I think in one of my interviews I was saying na I was open, ngayon hindi muna. Balik muna ako sa pag-aalaga sa aking mahal na nanay. I think she needs me now more than ever. She’s doing very well, she’s stable in her condition but ito ‘yung mga panahon na para sakin kinakailangan na

Not just politics. I am not closing my doors.

I am open to the possibility of anything. I can be a dancer, I can be a singer or an actor,” he quipped.

espite getting a dreamy, movie-like wedding proposal from her boyfriend-turned-fiance JC Intal at the NAIA airport almost two months ago and claiming that she found “no reason to say no,” host Bianca Gonzalez opened up about a few qualms that she has about settling down.

While many expect her to fully embrace married life and have kids of her own immediately after they tie the knot, Bianca, in an interview at the Pinoy Big Brother All In press conference, seemed undecided if this is the path that she’s willing to take.

“If you ask me at this moment parang hindi kasi siyempre in my head 25 years old pa rin ako so hindi ko pa siya matanggap. But andaming magbabago eh ‘di ba if you decide to have kids so siguro kami as a couple we’ll talk and siyempre ma-affect ‘yung work ko and I have to talk to Tito Boy [Abunda] and Direk Lauren [Dyogi] ganyan,” she said adding that, “Kailangan yata ngayon pinaplano na ng smart, hindi pwede ‘yung go lang ng go.”

What seems to be a major factor in Bianca’s hesitation of sorts was how being a mother would affect her image and therefore her showbiz career, which the Kapamilya host clearly said that she doesn’t want to give up. “Sinabi ko nga kay Tito Boy at Sir Lauren na ‘Uy kahit naman may asawa na ako bibigyan niyo ako ng work, ‘di ba?’” She shared.

In addition, Bianca candidly confessed that she’s “scared” as to how getting married would affect the projects that she would be getting in the future. “Oo siyempre kasi new chapter, new image. There will be certain show na hindi ko na pwedeng gawin kasi hindi na bagay sa may asawa, parang ganon. Of course I’m worried. Lahat naman tayo pwedeng mawalan ng trabaho ganon ganon lang. I mean it has happened to me so many times. Sana may work pa rin. Pero tinawanan lang naman ako nila Direk Lauren, so I guess okay pa rin naman,” she revealed.

DECEMBER WEDDING Meanwhile, the couple are looking into tying the knot in December, specifically early December. According to Bianca, “only because siyempre ‘yung mga tao mas busy na kapag mas malapit na sa pasko.”

As for the details, Bianca said that they have yet to finalize other specifics of their wedding. However she shared that, “But ang na-start palang namin pag-usapan is ‘Sino ba ang gusto mong kuning ninong, ninang?’ ganon palang talaga.”

Bianca also revealed that the wedding will be an intimate one. Does it mean that their wedding wouldn’t be as publicized as their fans hoped it would be? “Only because hindi naman din kami ganon ka-showbiz and hindi naman ako Judy Ann Santos para gawing ka-major na deal ang wedding. Pero even if ‘yun ang gusto ko. [Pero] siyempre I have to meet him halfway kung ano man ‘yung gusto niya. Pero sabi nila babae naman daw ‘yung madalas na nasusunod so, sana,” she explained.

This is not to say that though, that she and JC won’t share anything with the public at all. If anything, Bianca said that she would share the date of their wedding probably “after or during” the ceremony. “‘Yung before hindi ko pa sure kasi if you want it to be intimate paano mo naman ishe-share? We’re not the type rin naman na kala mo sikat sikat ang feeling namin sa sarili namin na kailangan sobrang secret. We’ll plan it as it comes. But siyempre we’ll share what we can. ‘Yung sapat lang. Hindi naman ‘yung feel na feel, hindi rin ‘yung parang secret na secret,” Bianca explained.

He shared that Mich’s proposal took him by total surprise. It was their anniversary when the proposal transpired. “Di ako makapaniwala. Akala ko anniversary surprise lang kasi anniv namin kahapon. Meanwhile in a separate Instagram post, Mich posted her proposal speech and a photo of their engagement ring.

or the first time since their intriguing family feud broke into the mainstream media, controversial actress Claudine Barretto finally aired her side on what really ignited her ongoing rift with her two older sisters: Marjorie and Gretchen Barretto.

Everything started back in 2010 when Gretchen and Marjorie, according to Claudine in an interview with Buzz ng Bayan on Sunday, sent an ambulance at her house.

“Nagpadala siya ng ambulansya sa bahay namin ni Raymart with a pediatrician. I was with my best friend and some other friends, we were eating. Kilala ko, pediatrician to ni Gretchen eh. Pumunta ako sa gate, nakita ko nandoon si Marjorie (Barretto), nandoon si Gretchen. Sabi ni Gretchen, “Can I please go in?” Since kapatid ko naman siya, kahit hindi kami okay, pinapasok ko. I didn’t know what this was all about. Pagpasok nila, later dumating na ‘yung pediatrician with the ambulance and I think there were eight men inside” she said.

“I asked my sister, ‘What is this? What are you gonna get me for?’ She just looked at her doctor and she said, ‘Do something.’ I knew my rights, she was trespassing.

Despite being considered mentally ill by her sisters, Claudine maintains that, as her doctor puts it, what she’s actually going through is mental torture after being diagnosed of having battered wife syndrome.

While she was initially dismayed by how they see her, she took comfort over the fact in knowing that it wasn’t true.

“For a while I was angry, I was hurt, even depressed, I guess. But nung nakikita kong nagse-self destruct na siya [Gretchen], naaawa na ako sa kanya kasi napakasinungaling na” she narrated.

FIRST BLOOD Last year saw the worse for the Barretto feud as speculations arose that Claudine was assuming various identities on social media sites to deride her two older sisters and even her niece Julia Barretto.

“Everything that will try to hurt and destroy me they will do” she began pertaining to the photos of family gatherings posted by her sisters on their respective Instagram accounts, which she admits affects her in some way.

“They drew first blood and they were accusing me of so many things. I just kept quiet the whole time.

They were just bullying and bullying. They did not stop.

When she said na, ‘Wala ka ng career, baboy ka, lechon, wala ka ng power. You will never be back in this industry.

Magpakamatay ka na lang, Claudine.’ You know, Gretchen, you swear on your child’s life if you did not say that. I dare you, because you are such a liar” she said.

In fact her remorse towards Gretchen led her to a decision that she does’t want to be affiliated with the former anymore.

“Pakiusap ko kay Gretchen, any question about me, stop answering. I don’t want to be affiliated with you because you are a shame to this family. I want you to stay away from me and my children” Claudine stated.

While it may seem that her tiff with Gretchen is not seeing any ending any time soon, Claudine once again shocked the public by saying that she actually despises Marjorie more than her other sister “kasi pinagaway niya kami ni Gretchen eh” “One thing I will forever regret is that I always made life easy for my sister. For Marjorie. But she killed me the day na tinanggalan niya ako ng karapatan to see my nieces na pinalaki ko. Nakalimutan niya ako ‘yung ako talaga” Does Marjorie know about what she feels towards her?

“I don’t know and I don’t know her anymore. And you know what I grieved for her. Pinatay ko na siya sa buhay ko. I would never ever do anything to hurt my nieces” she said adding that, “I just pray that they don’t forget, Dani, Julia, Clauie, Leon.”

Meanwhile, Marjorie, in a statement sent to Buzz, which was also relayed on air on the same episode, countered two major claims made by Claudine.

“Claudine for your information, Mom and Dad begged us to rush to your house because your personal assistant told them you finished all your anti-anxiety medicine. We had with us a doctor and ambulance from a very reputable hospital because we didn’t want you to die Claudine. We were saving your life” Marjorie wrote.

Marjorie also brazenly asked their parents Miguel and Inday to tell the truth regarding that incident.

“Dad and Mom please don’t deny the fact that the orders to rush her to a hospital came from both of you.

We did not have a strait jacket that was a lie. Claudine we were protecting you, we didn’t want you to die most especially in front of your children” said Marjorie.

In parting, she took a swipe at Claudine for claiming to ‘love’ her children “when not too long ago you tried so hard to destroy them.”

“Claudine you never borrowed my children, you never even tried, or called them. I never deprived you of seeing my children. Never” she wrote.

ilipinas Got Talent season one winner Jovit Baldivino is out to prove that he’s more than just a performer with powerhouse vocals as he sets off to become a good example by continuing his education.

Jovit proudly shared that he is currently on his second year in college taking up BS Criminology at the Batangas State University in preparation to fulfill his dream of becoming a lawyer. “’Yun ‘yung isa sa mga pangarap ko: kung hindi ako maging mechanical engineer, gusto ko mag-abogado,” he said in an interview during the recently-concluded press conference for Rock & Soul, his upcoming concert with The Voice of the Philippines finalist Thor Dulay on May 17 at the Music Museum.

In the event that everything goes well for the 20-year-old reality show alumni, he will be the first lawyer in their family. “’Yung ninong ko, siya ang influence ko kasi parang sobrang bata siyang naging lawyer. Isa siya sa pinakamagaling na lawyer dito sa Pilipinas,” the singer said without revealing the identity of his godfather.

Even his pre-law course was a suggestion by his godfather. But Jovit reiterated that he also thought Criminology would be a good option than other courses.

Apart from school, Jovit happily shared that he’s also taking up acting workshops from Star Magic “in preparation” for future offers that might come his way.

In 2010, Jovit became part of the musical TV series Idol fronted by Coco Martin and Sarah Geronimo. He was also part of Growing Up with Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla.

Despite doing the tough task of juggling his showbiz career and his education, Jovit claimed that he’s happy that he’s given the opportunity to do both. “Gusto ko po sabay kasi kaya ko pa naman po kasi bata pa naman po ako. Ako lang po kasi ang bumubuhay sa pamilya, so kailangan ko po nung [work],” he reasoned.

What matters most according to Jovit is that his family has extended full support in his current journey of being a singer and at the same time a student.

Jovit clarified that pursuing his dream to become a lawyer is not for any plans to enter politics in the near future. “Wala po talaga. Di ko po talaga plano. Magulo po. Pero hindi ko rin masasabi kung mapupunta ako sa ganyan pero sa akin hindi ko talaga gusto,” he ended.

Piolo Pascual said that he will be portraying his most mature role to date in the upcoming Kapamilya soap titled Hawak Kamay. In an exclusive interview with Push.com.ph, the actor relayed that he would be playing the role of a musician who is entrusted to take care of three children.

“Ang role ko dito isa akong frustrated na musician and my sister adopts three kids na they left with me because of an accident so in the journey of my character, these kids show me how to be a parent and show me how to love a person,” Piolo shared.

He underscored, “So for me ito na ‘yung pinakamature na role na ginampanan ko yata. Ang dami kong kaparehong bata pero siyempre ‘yung panalo dito kapartner ko si Ms. Iza Calzado.”

Mavy and Cassy Legaspi on joining showbiz: ‘We would like to try it’

avy and Cassy Legaspi are already used to being recognized as the offspring of celebrity couple Zoren Legaspi and Carmina Villaruel. “Yeah we’re both used to it. Pero kasi if we saw our celebrity crushes then we’d also be like that,” said Mavy who admitted to having a big crush on Hollywood actress Selena Gomez while Cassy likes One Direction member Harry Styles.

The 13-year-old twins admitted they have been enjoying attending basketball camp at school this summer. Mavy has always considered basketball as his favorite sport while Cassy is just a beginner. “I joined the camp because I play varsity for my school so I want to play again with my teammates,” he said.

The two siblings said they enjoy spending time with their parents when they have free time. “Maybe our favorite activity is going out for a movie. Anything is okay as long as I’m with them whether it’s at the house or at the mall to watch movies. Anything we do as long as we’re together,” Mavy shared.

Even when their mom is busy with hosting or acting duties on ABS-CBN, the family still tries to find ways to bond. “Our dad brings us to the set at like at midnight or 1 am then we surprise her, we stay there lang and talk to her, ganun. And everyday like every time her show appears we always have to watch her, we call her to give her feedback, good or not,” Cassy revealed.

The model teen said they used to be very affected by their mom’s roles on TV. “Before we used to cry when we’d watch her and she would cry or be slapped. (Mavy) before I really thought it was real, the stories are real so, but she would tell us it’s not real, it’s just acting so we got used to it na,” Cassy said.

The twins shared that they have similar interests apart from sports and outdoor activities. “We’re the same in music and then everything else different (laughs). Some sports yes,” Cassy admitted.

Even though he prefers house music and she likes Ariana Grande and Selena Gomez, the two are both in agreement when it comes to trying out showbiz someday. “I would like to try, but of course I have to ask my parents first. I would like to try it,” Mavy admitted.

Although Carmina has always been vocal about them finishing their studies first, Cassy said she hopes her mom will change her mind. “I want to be in showbiz. My mom said no (laughs) so I said, ‘Awww, okay,’” she said. The two teens say they totally understand why their parents are reluctant for them to start acting. “They both discipline us in the same manner,” Cassy added.

The same goes for them having a love life. Mavy said he knows his mom is joking when she tells the press she wants them to wait until they’re 35 to have a relationship. “Not really like 35 probably she’ll know when is the right age for us to have a girlfriend, but so far we’re both not thinking of that and we’re not thinking about our love life yet because we’re too young for that,” he explained.

Having appeared in numerous commercials and billboards, it’s no surprise the twins also have their own following. But the two choose to downplay it when people share their admiration for them. “I respect them because that’s their own interest. I don’t really say anything,” Mavy admitted while his sister agrees with the sentiment, “Wow, yeah the same thing I respect them but thank you naman that’s nice to know that they like me (laughs).”

Gretchen Barretto says sister Claudine is hallucinating

he war against Claudine Barretto has seemingly been reignited after she came out with new and explosive claims on Buzz ng Bayan’s Sunday episode against her estranged husband Raymart Santiago and older sisters Gretchen and Marjorie Barretto.

But the three are obviously not making Claudine get away with it as they too aired their side and countered her claims which was started by Marjorie via a statement which was also read on the same Sunday episode.

In her statement, Marjorie said that, contrary to what Claudine speculates, the decision to bring an ambulance to the former Kapamilya star’s house in 2010 was not hers or Gretchen’s decision alone but was actually their parents: Inday and Miguel.

ames Reid was all praises for his Diary Ng Panget co-star Nadine Lustre.

“She’s so easy to work with, she’s a great actress,” he said in an interview with Push.com.ph.

James admitted that he actually gets “kilig” with their tandem. “At the end of our movie, even during the dubbing, I dubbed the last scene [of Diary ng Panget], kinilig ako.”

Diary ng Panget was James and Nadine’s first film together. The actor shared that he took acting classes for his role and had been working out daily. He also spent time with Nadine to establish a good rapport. “My preparations, nag-gym ako every day and I had acting classes, Tagalog lessons especially. Preparations as a

tandem was just hanging out together, even us, the whole cast, we were bonding,” he relayed.

James is set to record a new album this year. He also revealed that he is going to do a movie again with Nadine. “I have plans for a new album, I have plans for a movie with Nadine which is starting very soon actually,” he said. The actor is looking forward to doing more projects with the actress.

Looking back, James shared that he never considered becoming an actor after Pinoy Big Brother. “When I joined PBB, it was actually just to make friends. I didn’t know that later on I will become an artista. Because in Australia (James is half-Australian) once you win, you get the money

and that’s it. But I didn’t realize that once I’ve won people expected me to continue,” he stated.

The actor shared that he started to take acting more seriously. “Kasi dati I didn’t really had my mind set on doing show business. oseph Bitangcol and Sandara Park were reunited in the taped episode of Gandang Gabi Vice last Wednesday, May 14, 2014. Joseph together with the other Star Circle Quest alumni surprised Sandara as they showed up during the guest appearance of the Korean pop star.

In an interview with Push.com.ph backstage, Joseph Bitangcol remarked that he was happy to see Sandara again.

“Okay naman, masaya lalo na kasama ko ‘yung ibang SCQ friends namin. Ganon pa rin hindi pa rin siya (referring to Sandara) nagbabago, magaling pa rin siya magtagalog tsaka ‘yung pagmamahal niya sa Pilipinas mararamdaman mo so nakakatuwa,” he said.

Joseph and Sandara were once an item, but separated before Sandara flew back to Korea. When asked if there was an awkwardness talking to Sandara again, Joseph clarified, “Wala naman kasi before siya maging ano talaga… nagkita na rin kami ng ilang beses so okay naman medyo nagkakailangan lang ng kwento but yeah, we’re friends.”

The Ipaglaban Mo director announced the arrival of their first child on Tuesday, May 13 via his Instagram account.

While Cayetano, in a recent interview with Push.com.ph, played coy about revealing more details about their child, his wife, Fille Cainglet, posted on her Instagram two weeks ago a photo of a pair of baby Jordan rubber shoes and some Nike baby booties which seemed to have hinted that what they were expecting a baby boy.

The director-turned-politician had earlier revealed that they were expecting their eldest child to arrive “later this year.”

Cayetano married the former star player of the Ateneo Lady Spikers December last year in an intimate beach wedding in Cebu.
