espite the sweltering heat, hundreds of fans flocked to the Glorietta Activity Center on Sunday, March 30, just to catch a glimpse of the Kramer Family, more popularly known as Team Kramer, composed of celebrity couple Cheska and Doug Kramer together with their kids Kendra, Scarlett, and Gavin. “Overwhelming. Grabe ‘yung mga dumating. May mga pumila dito sa Glorietta ng 2:00 a.m. at nakapasok sila. May mga pumila rin galing sa flight nila sa Cebu at Bacolod at pumila agad ng alas sais ng umaga so grabe talaga ‘yung overwhelming support from Team Kramer fans,” Doug blurted out in an interview after their event. Cheska, who also echoed her husband’s response, was also very grateful about the successful turnout of their family’s first-ever Meet and Greet. “Actually hindi namin ine-expect na ganito kadami and we’re very thankful for that. They have been very patient na rin all those who have stayed. Thank you to all our fans who have been supporting us and following us and who love our family most especially our kids,” she said. What led to their Meet and Greet according to the basketball star was a promise that he previously made

to their thousands of fans on their family’s Facebook Fanpage. “Well it was a promise I made to the fans when we hit 200,000 likes, I said when we hit 500,000 likes, I’ll do everything to gather a meet and greet venue. And ngayon halos nasa 840,000 na tayo so in less than one year palang ‘yung site. This is our way of thanking everyone,” said the head of the Kramer family. While they repeatedly underscored that they never really imagined that their family would ever become online “superstars” only after months of sharing photos and videos of their kids online, Doug surmised that their strong fanbase is a testament as to “how they probably long to see a family that’s very intact and a beautiful family that they can actually look up to in terms of parenting styles and how we bring up our children.” Would they be open to doing a reality show? “We’ll see. We can never say no. But in terms of everyday like following sa camera. No, definitely not. We’re willing to do it maybe once or twice a week na taping just a few hours a day. I don’t want to overwhelm the kids,” Doug said.` Cheska emphasized that they are fully aware that their kids are still very young to fully join show business. “I don’t want my kids to feel pressured at such an early age. very emotional Vhong Navarro faced the Madlang People moments before It’s Showtime wrapped up after a news report of the Department of Justice’s junking of Deniece Cornejo’s rape charges against him aired minutes prior. After hearing about the good news, Vhong was received with a tight hug by his co-hosts when the show returned from a commercial gap on their April 10 live episode. An obviously relieved Da Possessed star took the opportunity to thank all those who rallied to his side soon as the controversy broke out January this year. “Gusto ko pong magpasalamat sa ating Panginoon. In the second photo posted by Conejero, Navarro was seen swearing for his counter affidavit next to the prosecutor.

Last April 3, a then unidentified complainant filed the rape charges against the It’s Showtime host claiming that the incident happened in 2009 while she was working as a stunt double for the soap I Love Betty La Fea, where the Da Possessed star was also part of.

n his first movie for this year Da Possessed, Vhong Navarro plays a man who grows up being afraid of everything around him until he gets meets three different spirits who change his life. Masaya ba ‘to?’ Lagi na lang akong ganun,” the comedian confessed about still being confused on what would make him happy. “’Yun nga po yung chine-check ko lagi, lately kung totoo nga bang masaya ako, masaya ba talaga. Kasi sa Showtime laging masaya. Sa GGV, masaya. Pero pagtapos ng Showtime yung ako na lang, masaya ba talaga? Masaya din naman. Pero di ko alam. Naguguluhan din ako,” Vice added. He also explained that there is this longing he has for something he can’t do at the moment. “Maisip po kasi akong tao talaga. Tapos tahimik lang ako talaga. Alam ng mga kaibigan ko yan. Hiindi ako maingay, hindi ako madaldal, hindi ako patawa. Lagi lang akong taga pakinig nila, kaya nga lagi akong nakakabuo ng materyal sa mga naririnig ko, sa mga kwento nilang lahat. Kaya ako nalulungkot, may gusto ako na hindi ko magawa.” Soon Vice revealed to Boy that he is looking for something more in the aspect of his personal life. “Sa career ang dali eh. Nagagawa ko lahat. Napaplano, lahat halos ng gusto kong mangyari sa career ko nangyari na eh. Nagugulat nga ako na may itotodo pa pala. Sa personal … Sa pag-ibig hindi naman settling down. Di ko naman nakikita ang sarili ko na magpapakasal. Hindi. Kasi yung dyowa ko magaasawa din naman yun for sure. Gusto ko mag-asawa siya. Pag nakita ko na ah okay siya, ang saya niya doon, bahala na ako sa sarili ko, basta ikaw okay ka.” He also said that it may hurt him but he is willing to give way to that other person. “ As for the status of his love life, he expressed it is hard to describe it as of the moment. “Hindi naman stable pero masaya din. Masaya. Hindi ko talaga ma-explain kasi po nahihiya akong sabihing di masaya, baka magalit sa akin ang Diyos. Baka sabihin ang dami ko nang binigay say o, pero di ka pa din masaya? Di ba kaya bumabalik pa din na tao ako, meron pa din akong hinahanap na di ko alam sa ko mahahanap. Yun na yung set up namin. Alam niya lang na may party pero di siya pwede.” Vice then became emotional and said he is probably longing for a ‘normal’ love life. “Masaya sana. Siguro yung pinaka-tamang term eh yung ‘normal.’ Mas masaya kung normal. Eh di nga normal. That’s the price. Mamimili ka. Pag ginive up ko naman to para maging normal may mawawala.” The comedian divulged too that the best thing about being him is being able to make people happy. “The best thing about being Vice today is yung meron akong kapangyarihan na makabago ng mukha ng isang tao. Na mula sa malungkot pwede siyang maging masaya.

The best thing about being me now is nabigyan ako ng pagkakataon makapagshare ng magagandang bagay sa ibang tao. Although he has always chosen to keep mum about his personal life, Vice admitted that he knows his mother hopes he will have a child someday. “Lahat naman kasi ng nanay naghahangad ng apo. Vice said the decision is a very serious matter that he cannot fully commit to at the moment because his career is his top priority. “Hindi ko nakikta yung sarili ko. Meron silang niluluto ang ganda, excited na ako sana matuloy. Pero hindi siya pang-filmfest. Kasi gusto ko rin gumawa ng non-filmfest na movie this year. Kasi lagi na lang film fest. Kiray Celis says she wants to follow in Maricel Soriano’s footsteps

fter being part of the 2013 MMFF blockbuster entry Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy, Kiray Celis said she is looking forward to another exciting year. “Busy naman ngayon, masaya. Siguro ang lagi nilang kinukulit yung bagong teleserye kaso wala pa for now. Excited rin ako kung magkaroon. Wala akong dream project talaga, kahit ano eh, basta may pera (laughs). Anything, open ako sa lahat,” she shared. After celebrating her debut last year, Kiray said she wants to be taken more seriously as an actress and even wants to venture into more mature roles to widen her ability in acting. “I do, puwede pero hindi naman yung hubad hubad. Gusto ko malaman nila na hindi na ako ganun na teenybopper. 18 na ako eh. Kaso sa height ko kasi talaga (laughs). But at least, I’m forever young,” she admitted. For her next movie project, Kiray said she wants to do a role that is darker and more complex. “Dream role ko yung sa The Orphan, yung namamatay tao. Favorite at dream role ko talaga yung mamamatay tao. Sobrang angas nun, yun talaga yung dream role ko, kunyari mabait sa una tapos siya pala yung pumapatay ng mga tao,” she said. One of the best experiences for Kiray last year was getting the chance to act alongside veteran actress Maricel Soriano who is incidentally also her acting idol. “Siya talaga yung mahal na mahal ko at sobrang idolo ko. Just read all your ‘Get well soon’ messages. Last night was my first time to be stung by a jellyfish, a box jellyfish.” St. Luke’s is currently monitoring the sting, the rash and the rhythm of her heart after the jellyfish attack. Anne remarked that the effect of thesting could have been worse. “Been reading up on the box jellyfish and I’m lucky it wasn’t fatal. This summer be careful

Richard Gomez on joining the National Volleyball team: ‘I was never intimidated’

“A

fter coming back from training camp in Korea last week, Richard Gomez said he learned a lot from the overseas experience. “Ang hirap ng training, tiring. But the Koreans there are really good, ang galing talaga, ang lakas. Kaya it’s a good thing that we learned something,” he said. Goma, as he is fondly called in showbiz by close friends, admitted that he really trained hard to make it into the Philippine National Volleyball squad. “Matagal yung proseso. But I prepared for a long time and then nung nag-open ang national team tryouts, nag-try out kaming lahat, we were almost about a hundred players. And then nag-cut down sila to 30, and then to 18 until it became 12,” he shared during the Bench Body Whitening Lotion event held last April 3 at the Bench Tower in BGC, Taguig. Having been active in volleyball since grade school, Goma said he only thought about trying out for the Philippine team when he found some extra time in his schedule after retiring from fencing in 2008. “Wala lang ako magawa (laughs). Ang daming time eh. But I’ve been playing volleyball for a long time hindi lang seriously. And then in 2007 to 2008 ang dami kong oras so I started playing

it seriously. I’m the oldest in the group. I have personal training, kailangan eh. Kailangan may weights training, may running. Lahat kami nahihirapan, pero salamat sa multivitamins (laughs). But seriously, siyempre may effort na rin di ba? I’m not as young as I used to be, but I try to cope up with the younger players. I was never intimidated. Siguro I was watching some younger guys, and siguro they were looking at me na, ‘Ay si Goma ito ah! Medyo may edad na ito pero pagdating sa laro laban talaga kami lahat,’” he explained. From April 8 to 16, Richard will be part of the squad representing the country in this year’s Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championships to be held at the Mall of Asia Arena and Cuneta Astrodome. Richard said his family’s continued support is part of what keeps him passionate about sports. “My wife is very supportive sa mga endeavors ko and I’m very thankful kasi if she’s not supportive mahihirapan din ako eh. I’m very happy that Juliana also is picking up the sport. Sabi ko sa kanya, I was playing volleyball since I was in elementary, high school, college and then I stopped for a while and then binalikan ko lang,” he said. With volleyball being the fourth sport he has gotten into seriously after fencing, rowing, and shooting, Richard said he is still eyeing one more sport to join on the

national level. “Tapusin ko muna itong voleyball (laughs). I’ve been a member of four national teams of different sports. Parang kaya ko pa hanggang lima eh (laughs). Sa tingin ko ah. Meron pa pero I’ll try to achieve it first. Pag na-achieve ko yun I’ll let you know. Kailangan achiever lagi di ba?” he said. Richard said he is currently busy right now taping for a show with Sharon Cuneta on another network. “Nag-start na kami nung show namin ni Sharon (Cuneta). Nag-taping na kami actually. Nakakathree days na kami. It’s a dramedy, a drama comedy. Ang gusto ko kasi per project basis para I’m not tied down with one company. Anyways friendly naman lahat eh di ba? And then yung movie namin ni Gretchen (Barretto) niri-revise pa yung script,” he said. Richard said he is also busy helping his wife Ormoc City Representative Lucy Torres-Gomez with ongoing rehabilitation projects after the calamity that hit their area last year. “Ormoc is slowly recovering. Kami tuloy-tuloy pa rin yung relief efforts namin at saka yung bangka project namin. Madami pang trabahong kailangan gawin, but we’re doing our best,” he shared.

Pokwang says she is wary of ‘gold-digger’ suitors

hile she confessed to not having any boyfriend ever since she started in showbiz, comedienne Pokwang underscored that she’s very happy with her life as of the

moment. “Sa akin, siyempre ang anak ko. Huwag na tayong maghanap ng iba pa. Wala kasi akong love life ngayon. Ang love life ko, eh, ‘yung mga sumusuporta sa akin,” Pokwang said in an interview at the Mirabella Grand Press Conference. However, she emphasized that she isn’t completely closing her doors on love, saying that, “Alam n’yo kahit sabihin ko pang ayoko nang magmahal, hindi mo p’wedeng sabihin na ayaw mo na talaga. Meron at meron talagang nakalaan para sa ‘yo, kaya lang hindi natin alam kung kelan, saan at kung sino.” Contrary to popular belief, Pokwang swears that no one is wooing her nowadays. “Walang-wala at mamatay man ako ngayon eh hindi ko na ulit naranasan ang magkaroon ng isang boyfriend,” she promised. “Wala akong Pinoy o foreigner man na naging boyfriend ulit. Dominique Cojuangco on joining showbiz someday: ‘I’ve always been interested’

fter a two-week visit to Manila, Dominique Cojuangco flew back to Europe right after her launch as one of Bench Body Whitening Lotion’s newest endorsers. The only daughter of businessman Tonyboy Cojuangco and Gretchen Barretto is currently enrolled in a Fashion Design course in London which she started attending last month. The 19-year-old model said being a student abroad has taught her a lot of new things. “I feel like London has made me grow more independent.

Meeting new friends and being introduced to a new cultures… And it’s a nice, new chapter in my life after I graduated from the British School Manila. I’ve learned to be more independent. I’ve learned the importance of getting lost around the city and finding new places or finding myself and I think that’s wonderful. I am usually in school for half of the week, otherwise I like visiting galleries and museums. It’s nice sightseeing because it is one of the most beautiful cities in the world after Manila, of course (laughs),” she shared. The aspiring fashion designer said her life is now very different because of college life. “I used to go to school that was ten minutes away in a car and now I go to school in London and my school is forty minutes away, I have to take the tube, I have to walk with my umbrella when it rains. I do like it. My friends are very different, they’re from different countries that I’ve never even come across before like Kazakhstan for example but I think it’s a nice cultural difference and it’s something that I learn from. I’ve adjusted in a way where I can live day-to-day life, but it’s nice to be able to discover new places everyday,” she said. Having grown up in the limelight, Dominique said she was excited when Ben Chan asked if she was willing to join the

Bench family. Dominique’s cousin Julia Barretto is also one of the brand’s most popular endorsers at the moment. “I grew up with Bench just like everybody else and it’s nice that my family is part of Bench too so it does feel like family to me. I truly trust Bench because it does feel like a family so when I was asked to endorse it my yes was immediate because it’s Bench. I was definitely overwhelmed especially with the whole event, the TVC, the advertisment, it’s something different that I’m just so flattered that I was asked. I was asked around June or July of last year so I’ve been waiting and waiting and waiting (laughs) and finally it comes so definitely I was so relieved and excited and happy,” said the Bench Body Whitening Lotion model. Dominique said that even though most of her family members are in showbiz, she is in no rush to make any career decisions yet. Her mother Gretchen has already told the media that she wants her daughter to become an international fashion designer

I just had to tell them and I think they always supposed that I would be going to London because they did put me in the British School (laughs). Showbiz? I haven’t thought about it yet. Right now I’m focusing on my studies, but if an opportunity comes I don’t see why I wouldn’t say yes. I’ve always been interested just because I’ve been behind the scenes with my mom. I see how she works and I love the vibe, everybody’s vibe. I like the positive vibe everybody has for work and how they’re so enthusiastic and I love that. Anything’s possible to be honest with you (laughs),” she admitted. Dominique had actually offered a chance to act before at the Kapamilya network, but didn’t go through with it because of school. “I was asked to be an extra for a bit, but at that time I had exams for the diploma so I wasn’t able to say yes,” she added.

Gretchen Barretto on daughter Dominique: ‘She will be more fabulous than me’

She takes the tube. She has been offered a scholarship in her school. She’s achieved so much in a few months in London and I’m just very proud. Gretchen said she does not want to think about Dominique joining showbiz some day because she is currently focused on her studies. “No, she’s not going full-time in show business. The mestiza actress said Dominique has learned to deal with details of their private lives being made public. “I always told her that intrigues and problems in situations will always be part of life, whether you’re rich or poor, fat or thin, tall or short, you will always have problems. No one will go though life without problems or intrigues or whatever it is so you might as well face it. And I think she’s tough. I think she’s a tough girl. Wala akong tinatago sa kanya. Like I said, she’s turning 19. I believe she’s smarter than me and even Tony says, ‘Oh my God, I never thought this girl is smart. She writes better than I do!’” she admitted. Gretchen said she thinks her daughter can definitely surpass her achievements. “She will be more fabulous than me believe me (laughs). I dream for my daughter to be better than me

I’m not the manager, Pia Campos is managing Dominique for Bench and the rest also is Backroom. You know, she’s 19. Hindi ko puwede sabihin sa kanya na she’s not allowed or you’re allowed. She’s a very smart girl so she can make her own decisions. Thank God hindi pa niya ini-entertain because I guess she’s very busy with work. Sana huwag muna (laughs),” she shared. They bested nine other MYX VJ aspirants after competing for two months in presenting videos, hosting for the channel. ani Misalucha is back in the country and is set to release an album under Star Records titled The Nightingale Returns. The singer shared that her new record will contain songs of different styles and unique themes. “Siguro iba ba ‘yung pagkanta [sa album] ko, iba-iba ‘yung tema, iba-iba ‘yung tunog kaya kakaiba siya eh,” she said. She remarked that she is truly elated to be part of the Star Records family and to embark on a new journey with the recording company. “I really feel ecstatic and happy na I am here. Nagpa-consult po ako sa iba-ibang doctor, sa ibaibang hospital, and iba-iba po ‘yung treatment na ginawa sa akin—may asthma, may pneumonia, may TB (tuberculosis). Pero hindi po talaga nakita ‘yung totoong sakit, so kahit ano po yung gawing treatment, kahit wala po... wala pong nangyari. Hanggang, nagpa-third opinion po kami sa St. Luke’s, dun po nakita sa CT scan na may cancer po ako,” Jam recounted. The cancer, according to his doctor, Jam said originated from stress saying that, “Kasi before, sobrang inaabuso ko yung katawan ko. Every time busy ako, minsan natutulog po ako umaga na. Plus, ang kain ko lang po sa isang araw, minsan two times lang pero gising po ako ng mga 20 hours. And ‘yung mga friends ko din po, secondhand smoking, ganun po.” For now, Jam is undergoing “integrative medicine” to improve his condition instead of the traditional chemotherapy. “‘Yung chemo po kasi pinapatay niya po lahat ng cells” including, according to Mich, the good cells. Apart from the treatment, Jam said his girlfriend Mich’s presence also lightens up his perspective towards

hile couple Aiza Seguerra and Liza Diño are still in the process of sorting out details about their upcoming wedding, they revealed that the ceremony would be happening later this year. This announcement came almost two months after the Be Careful With My Heart star popped the question to her partner of more than a year.

“We’re still finalizing things. [But] our marriage in the States will happen this year. Siguro by the end of the year. ‘Yung ceremony with family and friends here, first quarter of next year,” Liza said during the grand press conference for Mirabella. ichard Gutierrez openly admitted that he’s very thankful now that girlfriend Sarah Lahbati has buried the hatchet with GMA Films President Annette Gozon-Abrogar. “I was very happy and there’s relief that finally they were able to forgive each other. [There’s] so much negative energy and we just want to start the year positive. Superselfie” star Gab Valenciano recently tried out for the reality show America’s Got Talent. The dancer is included in the new video teaser of the show released online.
