As part of one of the country's most popular love teams right now, Enrique Gil admitted he still is not totally sold on the idea of being active on social media. With more than a million followers on Instagram, Quen said it's still an effort for him to post everyday. “Yung downside para sa akin minsan yung mga tao sa social media, kasi minsan ‘pag may mga hindi magagandang salita iniisip ko, 'Seryoso? Ang sama naman nito!' So I'd just rather not read. I don't like yung mga chismis, ganun. Actually I just started using Instagram last year kasi hindi talaga ako mahilig. It's nice to know what people are doing, to know kung nasaan sila. And they want to know what I'm doing so I kind of got into it. Kaya para sa akin it's more of connecting with the fans. Not too much because some people just bring all their pain out there. Para sa akin I'd rather keep that to myself,” he shared during his CloudFone presscon and contract-signing event held last July 10 in Quezon city.

The 23-year-old Kapamilya actor said he believes that when celebrities reply on social media, it can actually encourages more people to troll or bash them online. “Sa akin naman, I really didn't mean to hurt anybody's feelings. I just want to have fun and post what I feel. Kung may ma-offend I'm sorry pero I don't think I post offending stuff naman. Some people what they like to do is bash you or say bad things because they want you to reply. So para sa akin yun ang style nila eh. The more that they hate on you it means... Parang, gusto niyo lang ako mag-reply eh. So hindi na ako mag-re-reply, tapos. Daniel Padilla has once again proved that he is the Philippines’ Teen King by performing to a jam-packed crowd, this time in the Mall of Asia Arena for his "Most Wanted" concert. Daniel showcased his artistry and sang his most favorite songs in front of thousands of fans last Saturday, June 13, 2015. PUSH lists down the top five “most wanted” moments from the concert.

1. Daniel Padilla performs “Pangako Sa’yo” with Kathryn Bernardo The already pumped up crowd went wilder when Daniel Padilla got Kathryn Bernardo to participate in his “Pangako Sa’ Yo” number. The Teen King and the Teen Queen got all so cozy on stage, which made KathNiel fans swoon at the MOA Arena. Daniel sang most of the lines and it seemed that he was more inspired singing the love song with Kathryn by his side.

2. Daniel Padilla kisses Kathryn Bernardo After their “Pangako Sa’yo” performance and with the constant cheer of the fans, Daniel gave in to their request and kissed the Teen Queen on the cheeks. It was a sweet moment between the two stars, who are still very elusive about the real score between them. But judging from that kiss and what transpired on that MOA Arena stage, Daniel and Kathryn are very special to one another.

3. Gary Valenciano was impressed by Daniel Padilla Gary Valenciano became vocal about his admiration of Daniel Padilla as a performer and even tagged Daniel as the Michael Buble of the Philippines. The relationship between a father and his child may not always be smooth and conflicts can become so intense that they sometimes sever their ties. Fortunately, these father-child pairs managed to reconcile and prove that blood is indeed thicker than water.

Gabby and KC’s closeness these days is a far cry from how they were before. There was no hate, at least, according to KC. But rather KC openly confessed that she bore pain and confusion throughout her growing years as her parents Gabby and Sharon Cuneta separated when she was only 10-years old.

It was only in 2006 when then Parisbased KC decided to meet with her father in the US. The decision was in part spurred by her decision to “resolve” matters in her life that would make her look for a father-figure and not husband-material next time she gets into a relationship. The first meeting brought KC to tears and eventually opened her heart not only to her father with whom she stayed with while in the US, but also her stepmother Genevieve.

To this day, KC spends time with her father and it was through him that she met and had a good relationship with her half-sisters Cloie Syquia snd Garrie Concepcion.

The trial that almost tore Dennis and Julia apart started when the former supposedly failed to give support to his children and former wife Marjorie Barretto which led to their separation in 2007. For years, Dennis has had a strained relationship with his three children with Marjorie namely Julia, Claudia, and Leon.

The peak of the disagreement though was July last year when the comedian tearfully revealed Julia’s court petition to drop his surname Baldivia. Dennis claimed in an interview that he tried to fight the petition.

Then, a couple of months later, Julia revealed that she has decided to keep her father’s last name, news that brought utter joy to Dennis.

Around March this year though, everything started to cool down between the father and daughter which started with Julia’s visit to her father’s dressing room in ABS-CBN to personally hand him his invitation for her debut. While many thought that it was a mere publicity stunt for the budding star, Julia maintained otherwise as they celebrated the occasion as one family.

Maegan & Freddie Aguilar The relationship of musician father-anddaughter Freddie and Maegan had been the epitome of free spirits in the past. The two backed each other and even figured in several projects and gigs together. However, their relationship turned sour last year when Freddie took on a new girlfriend, whom he eventually made his wife in the person of Jovie Albao.

Maegan, who initlally supported her father’s relationship, became vocal about her dislike for his father’s young wife and even lamented about how his father’s treatment of her changed ever since Jovie came into the picture.

Their spat eventually led to Maegan leaving their home and staying with her live-in partner. Unfortunately though, things didn’t go well for the young Aguilar as she suffered physical abuse from her partner.

After almost a year of estrangement, Maegan finally took the first step to mend her ties with her father by going to his place and apologizing to him about all her shortcomings as his daughter. According to her, what pushed her to finally end their spat were her kids who expressed longing for their Lolo.

James & Bimby Yap James has not only had a rough relationship with his son Bimby, but also with the child’s mother Kris Aquino when they decided to nullify their marriage in 2010 after five years of being together. From then on, Kris and James had a very rough relationship which had several bumps in the road like the filing of a temporary protection order after Kris claimed that James made “sexual advances” towards her. This was followed by a custody battle.

The ex-couples custody issue was only resolved last year when Kris claimed that they needed time to heal. Today, James and Bimby’s relationship has been mended.

In fact, James was even able to retain his closeness with Kris’s older son Joshua as Bimby grew closer to the athlete’s girlfriend Michela Cazzola.

Judy Ann Santos Ryan Agoncillo THINGS THEIR UPCOMING BABY CAN ENJOY IN THEIR FAMILY

After years of trying, Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo announced a couple of days ago that they are expecting their third child.

Reports about their son Lucho becoming a Kuya soon started through cryptic posts on their Instagtam accounts which were eventually confirmed by the superstar herself.

According to Juday, she's already nine weeks into the pregnancy.

While their newest bundle of joy won't come out until 31 more weeks, we think their baby has a bunch of exciting things to look forward to and enjoy once he's born and as he grows up.

The chef-cum-actress has recently been experimenting on what could be called as too-good-to-devour bento baon for her eldest daughter Yohan. Once baby number three grows, well, he can join his dad and Kuya Lucho for the sumptous yet healthy breakfasts which the Agoncillo family interestingly call “Dirty Breakfast.”

As someone who’s absolutely in love with cooking, it would only be natural to expect that their third child would also undergo cooking lessons and eventually prepare meals for the entire family like his Ate Yohan.

Apart from their love for each other and their craft, the other thing that Juday and Ryan share in common is their passion for fitness. The two are very active in fitness activities including circuit training, running, and triathlon for Ryan. In fact, even Yohan and Lucho join their routines once in a while. Yohan even completed her first solo 3km run recently.

While his parents are fond of dating with just the two of them together, they are also big fans of family trips.

In fact, they have been to a number of places like New Zealand, Japan, and Hong Kong, among others.

Lastly, their upcoming baby will be part of a very closely-knit family who enjoy doing and exploring new things together.

ctor Daniel Matsunaga and actress Erich Gonzalez finally told their love story in an exclusive Kris TV interview aired this Thursday, June 25.

Although Erich and Daniel have gotten close on the set of Two Wives, the actress revealed she did not immediately tell Daniel that she has broken up with her boyfriend.

“Siyempre hindi kaagad. Kelangan ko muna ng time for myself. Super close tayo sa Two

Wives pero nag ano muna ako … wait lang. Clear my mind muna,” she said. Eventually she told Daniel the news.

Daniel, on the other hand, said his relationship with Erich came at the right place and right time.

“I have said in interviews that God has really his own timing. It’s not something you had to

rush, I never rushed to have any relationship. I always waited, (it took) 3 years for me to have a relationship. I always trust and have faith, it always happens in the right time.”

The two said their first date was with Daniel’s mom at a Thai restaurant in Makati. This was followed by attending church together and going to the movies with Daniel’s family.

Both Born-Again Christians, Erich shared that Daniel listens to his mom Geralda when it comes to women. “Pag-ayaw ng mom niya sa girl, nakikinig siya. Ayaw niya na din,” she said.

Talking about their recent Hong Kong trip, Daniel said that they are not into material things but they cherish privacy and time spent together. Erich, on the other hand, admitted that she did a lot of things for the first time with him such as exploring the streets of Hong Kong and riding the city train. Furthermore, Daniel has made Erich spend time with him at the gym, something she does not do.

Erich, meanwhile, is teaching Daniel the art of gardening, for she has a small garden in her home.

Piolo and Iñigo Pascual An award-winning actor, Piolo Pascual starred in movies such as Esperanza the Movie, Dekada ’70, Til There Was You, Don’t Give Up On Us, On The Job, and Starting Over Again, among others. The most recent primetime series he did was Hawak Kamay.

Following his father’s showbiz career, Inigo Pascual has been given big movie roles this year namely, Crazy, Beautiful You and Para Sa Hopeless Romantic. In a PUSH report, Inigo said that he follows his father’s career advice.

Mark Anthony and Grae Fernandez Like actor Mark Anthony who became part of the Gwapings, his son Grae also became part of a boy group called Gimme 5.

While Mark starred in shows like Palibhasa Lalake, Kabilinbilinan ng Lola, Pare Ko and Istokwa, Grae is now trying his luck in acting. He is currently appearing in ABS-CBN’s remake of Pangako Sa ’Yo.

Nino Muhlach, who was dubbed as the Child Wonder of the Philippines, did several movies and TV shows while growing up. Now, it is his son’s turn to become the next child wonder which he fully supports.

According to a PUSH report, Nino opened up on Tapatan ni Tunying that he does not want to deprive his son of the good things he experienced because of show business.

Hence, he allowed him to become a child actor.

Alonzo recently starred in the Kapamilya series, Inday Bote and Wansapantaym Presents: Yamishita’s Treasure, as well as in the movie, My Big Bossings.

Diego Loyzaga and Cesar Montano Rommel and

Daniel Padilla Since the early ‘90s, Rommel, from the famous brood of the Padillas, has starred in several action movies such as Col. Billy Bibit Story, Totoy Golem, Kahit Demonyo Itutumba Ko, Hari ng Selda: Anak ni Baby Ama 2 and 10,000 Hours, just to name a few.

Like him, his son with actress Karla Estrada, Daniel, also entered show business. After several blockbuster movies and hit series, Daniel is now being referred to as the Teen King, opposite Teen Queen Kathryn Bernardo. He landed lead roles and starred in teleseryes like Princess and I, Got To Believe and now, the remake of Pangako Sa ’Yo. Some of the movies he did includes Must Be Love, She’s Dating the Gangster, and Crazy, Beautiful You, among others. He also launched recording albums and held his third concert at the SM Mall of Asia Arena just last Saturday, June 13.

Eh, kumusta nga ba ang kanilang first night?

“Naiyak ako,” sagot agad niya.

Sabay dagdag na, “Nung first night talaga namin, naiyak ako nang natapos na ‘yung buong wedding. Tapos umuwi ako kasama ko siya. Kasi parang hindi ako makapaniwala na, ‘Uy, grabe, hindi mo na ako ihahatid, na-realize mo ba ‘yun?’ Overwhelmed lang,” sabi pa ulit niya.

Ipinagmalaki din ni Toni na si Paul lang daw talaga ang tanging naging lalaki sa buhay niya.

“It’s always worth the wait. Saka, mas magandang gawin ang mga bagay sa tamang pamamaraan.”

Pagkatapos ng kanilang first night, ano naman ang na-realize at napatunayan niya?

“Parang sa akin, I take pride in myself na si Paul lang ang lalaki sa buhay ko. Parang bigla akong gumanyan kay Paul, ‘uy grabe, ikaw lang ang lalaki sa buhay ko, puwede kang maglakad kahit saan, sasabihin mo, ‘ako lang ang naka-ano sa asawa ko.’”

May naging reaksyon ba naman si Paul sa sinabi niya?

“Wala naman, siyempre, tagumpay siya. Napagtagumpayan niya,” natatawa niyang pahayag.

Nakita ba niyang proud din si Paul sa kanya?

“Oo naman. Nakita ko naman kung paano niya ako irespeto, kung paano niya ako alagaan, saka ‘yung hinintay niya talaga ‘yung... Alam mo yun?”

Naikuwento rin ni Toni ang tungkol sa honeymoon nila ni Paul sa Amanpulo sa Palawan. Ang sabi niya, “Sobrang nanibago talaga ako as in walang chaperone, walang kasama, walang kahit ano, as in puwede naming gawin kahit ano.

“Lagi kaming nagtitinginan, hindi kami makapaniwala. Nagkaroon talaga kami ng time for each other. Ang ganda pati ng sinabi ng pastor namin, eh.

Sabi niya, ‘being married to someone is not just being naked physically but being naked with your soul, with your emotion, talagang you’re sharing your life with this person.

“And it’s not just about shedding your clothes. It’s about sharing your life with the other person. ‘Yung fears mo, insecurities, parang meron kang isang tao na you can trust your whole life with,” emosyonal na pahayag ng Ultimate Multimedia Star.

Wala pang isang buwang kasal si Toni kay Direk Paul pero ramdam na raw niya ang maraming pagbabago sa buhay niya bilang misis.

“Ang daming pagbabago, naku po! Nanibago ako kasi ako na yung gumigising mag-isa. Hindi na ako ginigising ng mommy, ng daddy. Dati yan, tandem yan, eh. Ngayon, pag hindi ako gigising male-late ako. Kasi hindi naman laging nando’n si Paul kasi maaga siyang umaalis sa trabaho.

Minsan ando’n siya, pero kadalasan mas maaga siyang umaalis for work.”

Nakapag-adjust na ba siya na hindi si Alex Gonzaga ang katabi niya sa pagtulog?

“Medyo hindi pa masyado. Nawe-weirdan pa ako minsan, yung ‘ano ba y an, ba’t iba na tong katabi ko?’ Pero ano naman, masaya naman, mahal mo naman yung katabi mo.

“Masarap may kayakap sa gabi, iba pala yung kapatid, iba pala kapag yung asawa ang katabi mo. Kasi feeling mo parang meron kang katuwang sa buhay,” tsika pa ni Toni.

Ayon pa kay Toni, maaga raw matulog ang asawa niya na hindi siya nasanay. “Yon ang hindi talaga ako sanay. Pag kahiga niya, nakakatulog na siya kasi nga morning person siya. Eh, kami ni Alex night person. So naninibago ako na wala akong kausap sa gabi. Ang gagawin ko, sisipain ko siya, gigisingin ko,” natatawa niyang kuwento.

Ang pinakamasarap na feeling daw sa pagkakaroon ng asawa ay yung may sumasalubong sa kanyang pag-uwi at tinatanong siya kung kumusta ang araw niya.

“Dati naman sanay na ako sa ganu’n sa mommy at daddy pero iba lang yung sa asawa na,” sey pa niya.

Inamin din ni Toni na mas malambing si Direk Paul kesa sa kanya kapag nasa bahay sila. Sinagot din niya ang tanong namin tungkol sa sleeping attire na kanilang sinusuot.

“Ako pajama, siya naman t-shirt saka boxers. Sinbukan kong magnighties nung una, pero ang hirap matulog, eh, umaangat. Parang pahubad ka lagi, parang sa umaga nakahubad yung pakiramdam mo kaya bumalik ako sa pajama,” pahayag pa niya.

May mga pagkakataon din daw na siya na gumigising siya nang maaga para mag-prepare ng kanilang lunch.

“Pinipilit kong maging mabuting asawa. Kailangan ‘yon, eh. Pero kami kasi, brunch na eh. At na-discover niya na masarap akong magluto. Haha-ha!” pagmamalaki pa ng multi-media star.

“Kasi pag nandon siya sa bahay namin, mas gusto niya yung pininyahang manok, gusto niya yung spaghetti ng mommy ko, gusto niya yung tinola.

So, ginawa ko inaral ko yung recipe ng mommy, tinanong ko kung paano niya ginagawa. Pagka-lunch ako ang nagluluto,” dagdag pa niya.

Pinaninindigan din ni Toni na talagang si Paul ang kanyang magiging top priority ngayong mag-asawa na sila. Paano ba niya ito ipinararamdam kay Paul?

“Pag gising ko sa umaga mine-make sure ko na kakain siya nang tama kung ano yung gusto niyang kainin bago siya umalis, andiyan ako. Yung uunahin mo yung needs niya. Ang maganda naman kay Paul, hindi naman siya demanding na asawa, na ide-demand niya yung lahat ng oras mo. For as long as naramdaman niya na naalagaan mo na siya, na okey na siya, hindi siya masyadong alagain.

“Nu’ng first two weeks, nananinibago ako, nagiging emotional ako, naiiyak ako. Katulad nung okey na, kumain na kami tapos aalis na siya papuntang trabaho at mag-isa lang ako sa bahay, nalulungkot ako at gusto kong umuwi sa bahay namin.”

Kapag weekends ay dinadalaw si Toni ng parents niya sa bahay nila ni Paul sa McKinley. Si Paul ang nagpagawa ng bahay pero iniregalo niya ito kay Toni after the wedding. May balak din daw ang mag-asawa na magpatayo ng kanilang dream house.

conference of Star Cinema and Viva Films’ The BreakUp Playlist, actor Piolo Pascual shared that he cried while recording one of their movie’s songs, “Patawarin.”

Saying that he did a scene in the movie where he sang the said song, Piolo shared, “Hindi ko siya natatapos kasi umiiyak ako while (recording). Kasi I was coming from the scene, that scene that we shot the day before I recorded it so fresh pa sa akin yung scene. So it was one of the hardest recording sessions I’ve ever done because ang hirap kumanta ng umiiyak and siguro I was just full of emotions while I was singing it.” Meanwhile, he said that their other song, “Paano Ba Ang Magmahal” is very relatable as it questions the meaning of love.

When it comes to how the actor handles breakups, Piolo said, “When I think about The Breakup Playlist, parang do you dwell on it?

Do you dwell on the breakup or the experience? And then you realize siguro it’s so much better to just think of the good things that you guys experienced together instead of thinking of the negative things that happened because in the course of time sa relationship niyo, naging masaya naman kayo, di ba? Kung nag break-up kayo just because you have to be better people and you have to let go of each other to grow as individuals then you look at the positive side of things instead of focusing on the things na nakasira sa inyong dalawa…”

Furthermore, Piolo said that in order to deal with breakups, “Sinusubsob ko ‘yung sarili ko sa trabaho.”

How does he know if it’s time to let a relationship go? “Siyempre pag hindi na kayo masaya, lagi kayong nag-aaway katulad sa pelikulang ‘to.

Sabi nga ni Sarah (Geronimo), ‘pag wala ng respeto sa relationship di ba? Or I guess it’s easier said than done but you’ll know it when you’re not happy anymore. It’s got to be mutual.”

When asked about his biggest lesson involving breakups, Piolo briefly answered, “Acceptance.”

SARAH G. TALKS ABOUT HOW SHE DEALS WITH HEARTBREAK

In her first big screen pairing with Piolo Pascual, Sarah Geronimo admitted that on the set of their movie The BreakUp Playlist he definitely lived up to his reputation as a heartthrob. “Una sa lahat, mas guwapo talaga siya.

Guwapo na sa TV, pero talagang iba yung pagka-guwapo niya sa personal.

Nakakatuwa lang na lahat ng mga kababaihan sa set maririnig mo, ‘Haaaay si Papa P, nakasalubong ko siya, naka-sando.’ As in lahat ng kababaihan sa set lagi silang may mga compliments kay Piolo. Sa ugali niya talagang hats off ako sa sobrang professionalism niya. Talagang napaka-seryoso niya sa trabaho pero he also knows how to have fun. Pag nakikipag-kuwentuhan sa set giving din siya. Mas ako pa nga yung nahihiya na magkuwento, yung magpakatotoo. Siya yung talagang napaka-natural lang. At yun yung gustong gusto kong lumalabas pagka-may eksena kami na,” she shared.

Until now, the Popstar Princess said she still finds it surreal to be paired with Piolo. “Mahirap yung thought na i-portray ko yung character na girlfriend ni Gino na ang nag-po-portray si Piolo Pascual kasi siyempre na-intimidate ako. Hiyang hiya talaga ako as in mahawakan lang hiyang hiya na ako. Para akong matutunaw. Pawis na pawis na yung kili-kili ko (laughs). Look test pa lang hiyang hiya na talaga ako. Pero dahil kailangan at wala tayong choice at nag-commit tayo, ilalagay mo yung isip mo, yung puso mo dun sa character mo. Mapapanindigan mo at talagang mabibigay mo ng tama yung portrayal mo so in-overcome ko yun. Pero minsan talagang kumakawala talaga na ang surreal pa rin. Pero in-enjoy ko at saka isang karangalan na makatrabaho ang nag-iisang Piolo Pascual,” she explained.

When asked how she is able to be successful at the box office with every new movie, Sarah chalked it up to one simple reason. “Wala akong sikreto.

Siguro ang sikreto lang talaga is i-commit mo yung puso mo talaga na makagawa ka ng maayos na portrayal kahit na anong role ang ibigay sa iyo.”

During filming, Sarah said there was no shortage of lively moments with Piolo. “Meron kaming eksena na tuwang tuwa ako. Napakatotoo yung tawa ko kasi nandudun yung pagiging Gino niya, pero lumalabas din yung pagkaPiolo Pascual niya. May ganun siyang side, yung pagiging komedyante niya.

At saka favorite niya yung mais na pagkain talaga, yung puting mais!” she shared.

In real life, Sarah said she has also had her share of listening to breakup songs which have helped her overcome past heartbreak. “Yung breakup playlist or kahit yung pag-alala mo sa emotions mo na bawat emosyon kailangan mong pagdaanan. Or else mababaliw ka (laughs). Nung magkasama kami ni ate Juday (Santos) sa Hating Kapatid gumagawa kami ng pelikula, may music nun, nakalimutan ko na yung music, heartbreak song siya, tapos nilakasan namin yung tugtog tapos kumakanta lang kami.

Umiiyak ako, ganyan. Kasi parte ng process yan eh. Di ba yung alagaan mo yung sakit until mawala na?” she said.

Looking solid with her relationship with Matteo Guidicelli, Sarah was asked if she considers herself to have a happy heart right now. “Sana po.

Siyempre wala namang perpektong sitwasyon or perpektong solusyon.

Kailangan mo lang ipagdasal talaga na kung ano yung kalooban ng Diyos yun yung mangyayari sa bawat relasyon na pinapasukan mo,” she added.

During the presscon for The BreakUp Playlist, the movie was compared to a recent Hollywood film which also had a music theme and starred British actress Keira Knightley. Sarah clarified why there should be no comparison between their characters. “Ang similarities lang siguro katulad nung sa Begin Again kasi ung ka-relasyon ni Keira Knightley dun si Adam Levine. Yung boyfriend niya yung sumikat na rock star, siya yung nakikinig sa mga kanta niya. Kami kasi dito ni Piolo pareho kami dito na nagtratrabaho kami, pareho kaming sumikat magkasama kami sa success na yun, pareho naming mahal ang music. Yung magiging conflict pala is magiging pangarap din namin,” she said.

During the release of the trailer of Piolo Pascual and Sarah Geronimo’s first big screen pairing The Breakup Playlist, many couldn’t help but compare it to the 2013 Hollywood film Begin Again.

This mostly stems from the fact that both films delve into the story of two struggling musicians who found and eventually lose their love for each other.

In a recent interview, Piolo addressed this comparison and even claimed that their film is better than the international flick. The thing is we actually agree with him in many aspects because of the following reasons.

1. It has a better and more creative narrative style.

Sure the films are both anchored on the soundtrack as they were performed by the stars on the film itself, without giving away too much, this film deviates from the usual rom-coms in terms of how the story was told. Not only did this said narrative style add a uniqueness to the film, but doing it that way aligned it to the film’s central theme which is music.

2. It showcased OPM Talent.

For years, films have relied on reviving old songs and using it not only for its soundtrack but even for its title. The Breakup Playlist on the other hand pretty much evens up the playing game with the international scene as it affirms the fact that local musicians, composers, and OPM in general, contrary to misconception, is very much alive and kicking. Time and time and again it has been said that the Filipino language is one of the most romantic ones and with the songs in the local tongue, it sure made tugging on heartstrings easier.

3. It incorporated the concept of familiar love.

While Begin Again centered on the characters’ romance and their journey to stardom as ego and fame swallowed them up, The Breakup Playlist made way for the concept of family and independence. The characters of Gino and Trixie were created to show that on top of being dream chasers they are first and foremost children of their parents. This aspect, in fact, gives the movie a lot more depth.

4. It showcased different ways of expressing how you feel not only through music expressing how you feel not only through music.

While the Mark Ruffalo and Keira Knightley starrer focused on the use of music in expressing ones emotions like love, anguish, and even disinterest, the Dan Villegas-helmed flick stretched it a bit further made use of other creative ways. For one, in what could possibly be one of the cutest portions of the film, Trixie and Gino expressed how they feel through CD titles. There was even a time that they expressed it through a tattoo and a short poem.

5. It displayed the journeys and hurdles faced by musicians and bands that rise to fame.

While the conflict in Begin Again practically centered on the breakup of the singer and his composer girlfriend and eventually the latter’s revenge-like rise to fame, The Breakup Playlist added a newer dimension again as it tackled the usually conflicts in a band and how reunions often prove to be difficult once a group has already disbanded, among others.

Moreover, The Breakup Playlist also showed how an aspiring musician with conflicted interests balances not only her life, her head, her heart and even her family.

It’s somehow expected that the soundtrack of the film would take front and center. But screenwriter Antoinette Jadaone did well on the script as the lines thrown by the characters evoked so many “feels” especially since they are as painful as what the film’s title suggests.

1. Trixie to Gino: “Hindi mo ako mahal Gino eh, ang mahal mo lang sarili mo. Kasi kung totoong mahal mo ako dapat masaya ka para sa akin.”

“Nilalanggam na ba kami? Ang sweet namin, ‘di ba? Ngayon na lang naman ako nagkaganito ulit, eh. Matagal akong loveless kaya pagbigyan n’yo na ako,” pasakalye agad ng komedyana.

Halata namang mahal na mahal din siya ng American actor dahil hindi ito umaalis sa kanyang tabi. “Eh, ganu’n talaga. Kapag umalis siya, siya ang mawawalan,” natatawang biro pa niya.

Isa si Pokwang sa participants sa Open Kitchen food bazaar at ang ipinagmamalaki niyang laing at suka ang mabibili sa kanyang food stall.

“Awa ng Diyos sold-out agad. Ewan ko ba, kalalapag lang tapos nagunahan na agad sila,” pagmamalaki pa niya sa masarap na nilutong laing.

Dahil sa interes ng tao sa kanyang laing, may plano na ba siyang magtayo na ng restaurant?

“Kung laing lang ang ititinda ko, parang hindi naman mabubuhay yung restaurant. Ano yon, laing sa lunch, laing pa rin sa dinner? Parang teka muna, ’di ba?” tawa pa niya.

“Actually, next week, a-attend ako ng meeting sa mga friendship kong negosyante na maraming alam, hihingi tayo ng impormasyon and guidance sa kanila,” patuloy pa niya.

Proud din si Pokie sa sukang ibinibenta niya. “Yung suka ko naman in-experiment ko lang yan. Nilagyan ko ng kung anu-anong ingredients para sumarap. Nilagyan ko rin ng kung anu-anong kalandian,” natatawa ulit niyang pahayag.

Natikman na ba ni Lee ang kanyang laing?

“Hindi siya mahilig sa maanghang, eh. ‘Yun lang ang pinagkaiba namin.”

Eh, ano ang paborito ni Lee na niluluto niya?

“There’s so many,” si Lee na mismo ang sumagot. “Her adobos are amazing, binakol soup, squid sisig and then the stuffed squid.”

Is Pokie wife material?

“Without a doubt,” sagot ulit ni Lee. “There’s potential,” hirit pa niya.

May plano na ba silang mag-settle down?

“We are discussing plans, and I don’t know if we’ll finalize everything but we’re definitely interested in staying together,” pahayag ni Lee. Kilig na kilig naman si Pokie habang nagsasalita ang kasintahan.

“Maybe 2. It depends,” sabi ulit ni Lee. CLAUDINE BARRETTO TEASES ABOUT UPCOMING ‘OTHER BIG PROJECTS’ The long wait for Claudine Barretto’s return to the limelight is over as the actress on Thursday was officially revealed to be part of the upcoming powerhouse movie Etiquette for Mistresses.

Aside from that, Claudine is also happy to be back as a Kapamilya which has been her home ever since she started in showbiz back when she was a lot younger.

According to Claudine, talks about her project started from her new talent management agency Viva.

“They told me that there’s a Chito Rono project that they got from a book written by Ms. Jullie Yap-Daza, Etiquette for Mistresses and What Wives Should Learn From Them,” she began.

“When they told me kung ano ‘yung role, grinab ko agad ‘yung opportunity. I had to get a copy of the book, eh hindi na siya nilalabas ngayon, hindi na siya pini-print so nakahanap kami and may second book na hindi nilabas and binasa ko. And ano siya eh mga ‘90s so sabi ko it’s a very challenging role plus it’s a Chito Rono project. Plus there’s Kris [Aquino] parang kung meron man akong Ate dito sa showbiz siya talaga ‘yun. Tapos working with Iza [Calzado], Cheena and Kim [Chiu] parang nakakatuwa. It’s really a good project,” she continued.

According to Claudine, she also missed doing teleseryes, a field where she once reigned as one of the best. Among her best soaps were Mula Sa Puso, Saan Ka Man Naroroon, Marina, and Sa Dulo ng Walang Hanggan, among others.

“Super, sobra sobra talaga. I mean almost three years akong nawala eh. Eh kasi first love ko ang acting eh so alam mo ‘yun to be back again, now, with this big, big project and aside from this may iba pang malalaking projects knowing that I am overwhelming with joy and sobrang thankful lalo na lahat ng tao na nag-pray na makabalik ako, lahat ng mga Claudinians and lahat ng mga natutuwa na nakabalik ako,” she said.

When asked what the other projects were, Claudine reiterated that they are still confidential at the moment.

Bayani is indeed a Kapamilya once again via It’s Showtime’s newest segment—“Funny One.” According to Bayani, it is a search for ABSCBN’s new male comedian, very much like Clown In A Million, where comedienne Pokwang was discovered.

arian Rivera, who is now 5 months pregnant, confirmed on GMA News TV’s Tonight With Arnold Clavio that she and hubby Dingdong Dantes already know the gender of their baby but didn’t specify whether the baby is a boy or a girl.

ow that she’s 21, Jasmine Curtis-Smith has taken it upon herself to try new things.

What came on top of the list was dabbling into theater as part of Sandbox Collective’s monologue series titled NO FILTER: Let’s talk about ME.

“Kasi siyempre you know we kind of have to find different avenues to

let out our creative juices,” Jasmine said in an interview during the show’s press conference.

The young host-actress also claimed that her decision to join the theater scene stems from her desire to “explore the world of acting.”

“If you really love your craft, you won’t limit yourself to just the small screen or the big screen. Minsan masarap rin talaga ma-experience ‘yung onstage and just one take and that’s it. The hard work and the time that you put into creating the characters, it’s very different so it’s good to experience that,” she said.

The monologue series tagged as “by millennials, for millennials, about millennials” also stars Saab Magalona-Bacarro, Lauren Young, Cai Cortez, Micah Muñoz, Mikael Daez, Khalil Kaimo, and Sarah Facuri. It will run from July 25 to August 1 at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium at the RCBC Plaza.

Jasmine’s decision to learn new things pretty much resonates with that of her sister Anne Curtis latest adventures which the latter called as Anne’s Journey to 30. The It’s Showtime host has taken her recent travels and other exploits under that said category.

The younger Curtis couldn’t be any happier about Anne’s decision saying that, “I think it’s great.”

Without wanting “to cover it up with religion,” Jasmine stressed that her Ate is not frustrated about the fact that she’s not yet married even if she’s already 30.

X FACTOR ISRAEL WINNER ROSE FOSTANES FACING DEPORTATION AND POVERTY

JUKEBOX QUEENS IMELDA, EVA, AND CLAIRE ARE ALL SET FOR THEIR WORLD TOUR

C

ontrary to what she expected, things didn’t turn out extremely well for Filipina X Factor Israel champion Rose Fostanes after she won last year.

In fact, in a recent report at online news site Haaretz, Fostanes’ visa has supposedly expired already. The report said that her talent management company Aroma Music has already submitted a request for an artist visa after it expired a month ago.

But, via a confirmation with the authorities, the same report claimed that Aroma Music has cancelled the request last April leaving the former caregiver on an illegal status in Israel. The reason behind their decision not to push through with the visa processing is the fact that Fostanes has failed to produce profits for their company.

Turns out, having an artist visa would require the company to pay her a monthly salary a year. Although the company is convinced that Fostanes “couldn’t make a living with music alone, they are still making an effort to request to Interior Minister Silvan Shalom to grant her a temporary resident’s visa.

“We are hopeful that a solution will be found to obtain an alternative visa that will enable her to make a living from other jobs as well,” says the company.

What’s more is that, despite their respect for Fostanes’ talent, the company unfortunately cannot provide any financial sponsorship for her. To make matters worse, they have also opted to terminate her contract almost a year before it was due to end. This option is apparently included in the written contract signed by Fostanes herself.

“Rose is a very talented singer and we would have been happy to see her musical career take off in Israel too,” says Michal Weissberg of Aroma Music. “As a record company, we tried to develop a big career for her in Israel and abroad, but it takes years to build a career, with hard work and patience.”

Weissberg is convinced that Fostanes could thrive in embarking on smaller shows, unfortunately, not under their management. Following her new star status after her win, Fostanes was prevented from performing on smaller venues that are not approved by her management.

The company explained that Fostanes failed to make profit from her shows in Israel and Australia because the expenses for the said show supposedly far exceeded their income.

While Fostanes was, by contract, supposed to release an album under the management this also didn’t push through because her debut single Walk Away dismally didn’t gain much radio play.

According to Fostanes, the company has attributied their decision over the supposed “lack of demand for English songs.”

“I’m disappointed,” says Fostanes. “I thought my dream would really come true and I’d have a music career. The thing that really makes me sad is that when I went on stage for the first time I was totally insecure and I thought I had no chance, but then things started to change and I started to believe in myself. It was a wonderful feeling, to be given an opportunity. But then things turned out the way they did and I feel terrible again.”

Prior to joining the talent show, Fostanes was part of a Filipino band called Daddy’s Cool Band, which played mostly for the migrants like her near bus stations.

“I loved singing with my friends and we had wonderful evenings together, but then I won on the show and I was told not to keep performing with them, because they told me a respectable singer wouldn’t sing in those kinds of little clubs. That it’s not appropriate. So I really stopped. Now I kind of regret it. I think I might have been better off altogether if I hadn’t won the show and would have continued working as a caregiver. At least that way I could keep on taking care of my family and send them money every month,” she lamented Now, Fostanes claims that she’s willing to do “whatever it takes” just to make a living in Israel.

“I know I’m not that beautiful and I know that I’m not the typical singer that everyone’s looking for, but I believe that if I’m just given the opportunity, I’ll prove that I can succeed. I understand the situation that I’m in and the only thing I hope is that the people in the Interior Ministry will understand that I’m a human being just like them, that they’ll understand how important this opportunity is that they can give me,” she ended.

ome 20 years since their second film together, Aga Muhlach and Lea Salonga thrilled their fans anew during the red carpet premiere of their digitallyrestored movie Sana Maulit Muli.

The re-mastered movie which was shown at the UP Cine Adarna last Friday were attended by the two together with the movie’s director Olive Lamasan.

Lea and Aga’s onscreen chemistry once ruled the industry as they were hailed as part of the list of favorite tandems during the early 90s.

“It feels really nice for ABS-CBN to restore such classic films for the younger generation. I think it’s really wonderful,” said Lea about the restoration of the film.

Now, some 20 years since she last played the role of Agnes and with a mountain of acting experience under her belt, would she have done things differently?

“Oh God I don’t know. For sure I’m not the same person that I was when I did the movie 20 years ago. I think it’s nice to leave everything as it is because it’s a reflection of who we were as people. Because if you try to mess with it now it would be putting information into the film that did not exist at that time,” she explained.

Meanwhile, Aga, who has been away from the limelight for a while now, also shared Lea’s happiness that their film was among the ones that first got restored.

Despite their age and their having their respective families now, fans of the former love team are still clamoring for a third film for them.

“Ay ewan ko sa kanya,” answered the two stars.

Aga added, “Sana soon. I’m really hoping soon and sana with Direk Olive.”

Lea and Aga’s first film was Bakit Labis Kitang Mahal which was directed by Jose Javier Reyes and was released in 1992.

Bukod pa dito ginawaran din siya ng Best Child Actor award ng FAMAS. Pero bago pa ang Magnifico ay marami nang pumuna kay Jiro bilang mahusay na batang aktor. Noong 2001 Metro Manila Film Festival, nanalo din siya ng kanyang unang Best Child Actor award para sa pelikulang “Bagong Buwan.” Kasama niya dito ang batikang aktor na si Cesar Montano at Jericho Rosales.

Nagkaroon din ng nominations si Jiro sa mga pelikulang Tambolista at Foster Child noong 2007.

Foster Child was officially selected for World Premiere at the Cannes Film Festival that year.

Hindi lang sumabak ang aktor sa drama kundi ipinakita rin nito ang kanyang talento sa larangan ng komedya. Gumanap si Jiro bilang Shammy sa comedy blockbuster trilogy na “Tanging Ina.” Lumabas naman si Jiro bilang isang bading sa “Manay Po 2: Overload.”

Sa telebisyon naman, ilan sa mga di malilimutang role niya ay ang pag ganap bilang Dodong sa “Maalaala Mo Kaya: Manikang Papel” noong 2006 at Mackoy sa “Maalaala Mo Kaya: Basura” noong 2008.

MANIO AI-AI DELAS ALAS TEARS UP FOR ‘ANG TANGING INA’ SON JIRO Sa ulat ng TV Patrol, sinundo na si Jiro Manio ng kanyang pamilya sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 matapos siya doon mamalagi ng apat na araw simula Linggo ng hapon. Ayon sa security guard na si Frank Sorca na nakamata kay Jiro, ang dala lang ni Jiro ay charger at headset at ang ipinangbayad ni Jiro sa cab na sinakyan niya ay ang cellphone niya. Nang tanungin niya si Jiro kung saan ito pupunta, sinabi diumano ni Jiro na pupunta siya sa ibang bansa. Wala rin daw siyang kamag-anak dito sa Pilipinas.

Ayon sa ulat, madumi na si Jiro at may mga sugat sa leeg at paa. Kinakaila rin ni Jiro na artista siya. “Hindi naman ako artista e, pinasyalan ko lang ang showbiz para magkaron ako ng intelligence. Matapos nun sariling desisyon ko na.”

May mga nakakilala na pasahero at empleyado nang NAIA 3 kay Jiro at nagpa-picture kasama si Jiro kung kaya lumabas ang litrato niya sa social media.

Inamin rin ng kanyang tatay-tatayan na si Andrew Manio na nagkaalitan sila kaya naglayas si Jiro. Sinabi naman ni Jiro na hindi ito totoo at “drama lang yan para mapabalik ako doon. Siyempre, wala akong mapuntahan kaya ako iistambay dito.”

Nakausap rin ng TV Patrol ang ilang kapitbahay nila Jiro sa Cainta, Rizal at kinumpirma nila na sa harap pa ng bakery naganap ang away sa pagitan ni Jiro, tatay-tatayan at pinsan nito. May nagsabi rin na nasasangkot minsan sa away si Jiro. “Minsan tahimik, minsan nakaupo lang po, nakakaawa siya.”

Nakaabot na ang nangyari kay Jiro kay Ai-Ai Delas Alas na tumayong nanay niya sa blockbuster franchise na Ang Tanging Ina. Naluha si Ai-ai at sinabi nito na para silang isang buong pamilya sa Ang Tanging Ina. Ani Ai-ai, “Ang mga kapatid niya masyadong concerned sa kanya, nagtext as akin, ‘Mama anong gagawin natin?’”

ANDREW MANIO SAYS JIRO MANIO IS NOT USING DRUGS Nagsalita na ang amain ni Jiro Manio na si Andrew Manio kung paano nagsimula ang away nila ni Jiro. Kuwento ni Andrew, pinuna niya ito na ‘wag kamayin ang pagkain ng pamilya dahil mahaba ang kuko nito. Nang tanungin din niya kung ano ang iniisip ay sinagot siya nito ng “ano bang pakialam mo?” Nanlilisik rin diumano ang mata ni Jiro na parang gusto siyang suntukin kaya “na-highblood” na rin siya.

Hindi rin pinalayas ni Andrew si Jiro, at pumunta si Jiro sa airport dahil hinihintay nito ang pagbabalik ng kanyang “Mommy Lola.” Ayon kay Andrew, nasa isip lang ni Jiro na dadating ito. Isa pa tinalikuran na raw ng Mommy Lola ni Jiro si Jiro.

Kinaila rin ni Andrew na bumalik sa pagda-drugs si Jiro. Ang pinagdadaanan diumano nito ngayon ay “depression dahil sa kakaisip.” Nagsimula raw itong madepress nang madeny ang papers for Japan. Self-inflicted rin ang mga sugat nito sa leeg dahil kinakamot niya ito kapag “naiinis siya sa kanyang sarili.” Isa pa sa dumagdag sa depression ni Jiro ay ang kagustuhan nitong makilala ang kanyang tatay na kailan man ay hindi niya nakita.

Hindi rin drugs ang dahilan ng pangalawang pagkaka-rehab ni Jiro kundi alak at sigarilyo. Si Andrew na ang nag-alaga at nagpalaki kay Jiro simula pagkabata nito kaya ayon kay Andrew, “Ako na ang tatay at nanay niya. Hindi ko siya pwedeng pabayaan dahil kung mawala si Jiro, masakit talaga sa akin yun. Mahal ko si Jiro.” Kung tutuusin, Lolo na ni Jiro si Andew dahil uncle si Andrew ng Mom ni Jiro.

Hindi si Jiro sumama kay Andrew nang kunin siya ng kapatid niya sa airport. Sa ngayon, nasa bahay si Jiro ng kanyang High School teacher.

ROSANNA ROCES SAYS MEDIA SHOULD STOP MEDDLING WITH JIRO MANIO’S LIFE Nagbigay naman ng pahayag ang dating aktres na si Rosanna Roces (Jennifer Adriano sa tunay na buhay) tungkol sa kalagayan ng dating child star na si Jiro Manio. Dating naka trabaho nito si Jiro sa pelikulang “La Vida Rosa” noong 2001 kung saan nanalo siya bilang Best Actress sa Gawad Urian.

CHILD STAR 4WON THEIR BATTLES IN LIFE Child stars grow up in a different world compared to most people. The cameras are their toys, the studio their playground, and their playmate is the public. With the recent controversy regarding how Jiro Manio’s life turned out, one can only conclude that they are actually subjected to the same trials and challenges growing up.

Here are four child stars who have succeeded in the face of these challenges.

Known for the “wag kayong aalis, babalik ako” line, the “duck walk,” and other funny gestures, Aiza Seguerra became a child star after participating in Eat Bulaga’s Little Miss Philippines in 1987. Then a three-year-old, he often portrayed the role of Vic Sotto’s daughter in numerous films and in the TV show Okey Ka Fairy Ko! He began pursuing a career in music in his late teens.

Growing up in the limelight, his personal life became everyone’s business especially after he came out as a lesbian in 2007 then as a transgender man in 2014. It did not help that “unconventional” sexual orientation and gender identity are not completely accepted and understood in the Philippines.

In an interview on Aquino and Abunda Tonight (August 2014), he confessed: “Ngayon ko lang na-identify talaga para sa sarili ko.

Before kasi, as a lesbian, ang dami ko paring questions na hindi [masagot].

When I finally discovered sa sarili ko na I am not lesbian and I am a transgender, there you go. It answered a lot of questions.”

Not minding the public’s negative opinions, he is now happily married to Liza Diño and treats Liza’s daughter from a previous relationship as his own.

Starting his showbiz career at five, LA Lopez became a mainstay in comedy films and sitcoms, thanks to his free spirit and bubbly personality. He left the business five years later when his father died. His showbiz comeback at 16 was a huge success, but various intrigues came along with it. He was ridiculed by another comedian who called him retarded in a derogatory way and was tagged as weird, different, and a homosexual.

Eventually, the once bubbly actor threw in the towel and left for the United States.

He got into the Florida School of the Arts and was awarded the rare George W. Bush award. Despite being on the other side of the world, detractors continued to send hate messages online. In the midst of this troubled time, he answered a spiritual calling to become a pastor and entered the Abundant Harvest Fellowship in the same state.

He went back to the Philippines in 2010 and is now the head pastor and founder of the Abundant Harvest Fellowship in Quezon City.

Nene Tamayo When she emerged as PBB’s first ever Big Winner, Nene said she has no intentions of pursuing show business fulltime.

‘Commander Nene’ as she was known on the show however found a niche as a dancing diva on ABS-CBN’s defunct dance show U Can Dance. Nene eventually married her dance partner on the show Anthony Plamio. They have a son, Antonio, who is now 7 years old.

Currently Nene owns Nene Primefoods, a bottled-food business. Among the products she sells are Pickled Chili, Eightspiced Tuyo and Spanish-style Bangus Sardines.

Jason Gainza Jason was a construction worker/waiter when he auditioned for the first season of PBB. After landing in second place, Jason’s sense of humor inside the house did not go unnoticed and he eventually became a comedian. He is now known for his impersonations of King of Talk Boy Abunda and of Kris TV head writer Darla Sauler.

Franzen Fajardo Franzen is best remembered as one of Kuya’s “pasaway“ housemates in Season 1.

Although he was forced evicted, his and Jason’s antics on the show were surely unforgettable.

Franzen tried his luck in showbiz but eventually returned to his original job as a salesman.

In a Bandila feature, he is reported to be in the buying and selling business in Malaysia.

Uma Khouny Half-Israeli and half-Filipino, Uma was known as the straightforward housemate of Season 1 as he is blunt and says whatever is on his mind.

Uma tried his hand at hosting travel show Trip Na Trip after Pinoy Big Brother. He is now in New York managing his coffee business.

Say Alonzo The resident ‘kikay’ of the first batch of PBB housemates, her duet with Sam Milby, “Magmahal Muli,” topped the charts in 2005.

Say became an actress-host after her stint inside the PBB house. In 2011, she bowed out of the limelight and married Ryan Tordesillas. She is now a business woman and hands on mom to her baby boy Asher.

Chx Alcala PBB Season 1’s “wild girl,” Chx was controversial after she shared a kiss with heartthrob Sam Milby on the show.

According to reports, Chx is now in a business venture with her Brazilian-Japanese boyfriend.

Rico Barrera Although he was the first evictee of the first season, Rico has remained visible in the world of showbiz. Aside from being an actor, Rico is also a model and businessman. He is currently filming an indie movie with Matteo Guidicelli and Bangs Garcia.

JB Magsaysay One of the heartthrobs on the show, JB was paired with Say and they eventually became a couple. The romance was shortlived however, a case of what PBB fans now call “PBB Love.”

JB ventured into acting after his stay inside the PBB House.

He eventually got into politics, following his family’s heritage.

He has also married actress Coleen Garcia’s mother Maripaz in 2012.

In an interview at The Buzz after he was evicted in 2008, Josef said that he did not mean to fall for Nicole, causing for his then girlfriend to break up with him. “’Di po namin sinasadya yung nangyari po sa loob ng bahay kasi ano po siya, close environment po so mahirap po talaga siyang maiwasan,” he said.

The billboards were put up as part of the promotion for the Cebu leg of Vice’s concert on July 19 at the Pacific Grand Ballroom of the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.

By Monday, July 6, the billboards were already removed by TSE Live Inc., the concert’s local organizers.

“The Cebu leg of the concert is part of a series. TSE Live was only staying in line with its format. TSE Live accepts the Mayor’s call to change the material and is in the process of doing so,” the organizers said in a statement.

In the same statement, the organizers clarified that they would have complied with the CCAIB’s directive have they been informed beforehand.

However, they claimed that they were only informed about the said violation on Monday morning by City Treasurer Diwa Cuevas.

According to them the billboards have been up for almost two weeks yet they received no communication from CCAIB. As of the moment, the promoters are still considering if they would replace the billboards with a different image.

“It’s only a few days before the concert and putting up a new billboard is added cost on our side. Maybe we won’t be replacing it anymore,” they said in the statement.

It was CCAIB member Councilor Lea Japson, women and family affairs committee head, who received complaints about the billboards just last Sunday, July 5.

She claimed that the complaints came “from private individuals and religious groups.”

“They said it’s indecent so I called up Dr. Mercado and we talked about it,” Japson said.

According to Alyssa, one of her biggest crushes in showbiz is The Breakup Playlist star Piolo Pascual. “Si Piolo kasi sobrang down-to-earth and sobrang simple lang talaga niyang tao. He greeted me nung birthday ko my gosh! Alam mo yung feeling na sobrang simple lang talaga niya?

Lauren explained that, “How I differentiate myself it’s not because I want to be distant, if anything I wouldn’t mind being like her but wala eh. I think this is who I am. This is what I like to do. It just so happened that I’m not exactly like my sister and we don’t really like the same thing.”

For Lauren, pretending to be someone she’s not is not in her vocabulary which is why she has the mantra: “This is who I want, this is who I’ll be.”

Early this year, the 2013 Miss World winner left the Kapamilya network to transfer to GMA and be under the same network with Lauren. Just months after that move, the sisters are set to star in their first soap together.

Despite insistence of an existence of rivalry between them, Lauren maintained that there really is no awkwardness now that they are now under one network.

“We’ve been asked that question so many times it’s a never-ending question and the answer will always remain the same for me. There’s no competition with my sister. There’s no rivalry. There’s nothing na magpapahirap sa mga career namin,” she explained.

The reason behind this Lauren says is the fact that she knows how to be contented with what she’s given.

“You know if she has something bigger than what I’m doing, it doesn’t really matter to me. ‘Cause I’m the type of person that I make do with what I have. I’m not going to ask for more if I have what I need,” she said.

Speaking of her sister, Megan has been in the headlines lately due to posts seemingly confirming her romance with actor-model Mikael Daez. The two have yet to confirm whatever it is that they have and Lauren remained mum on the matter.

“Ano kasi eh when it comes to my sister’s personal life, I don’t really like saying anything. Because like it’s not for me to share. I don’t want so say something that my sister doesn’t want anyone to know or doesn’t want me to say or doesn’t want the people to know because you know it’s their personal life,” she reasoned. “I’m in no position to reveal certain things about her.”

Is it something that they talk about, having limitations on what they can and cannot talk about each other to the public?

“Not really. I guess it’s more of a conscious effort of mine. It’s just me and I respect people’s privacy.

Like when they ask me something about Megan or my friends, I’m not going to say anything because at the same time I wouldn’t appreciate it if they would say certain things about my personal life to other people,” she said.

More than being called “pa-showbiz,” Lauren explained that it really just boils down to respect.

“Hindi siya ‘yung ‘Boo pa-showbiz ka naman hindi ka nagsasalita ganyan.’ There are just certain things in my life that people don’t need to know. I mean what are you going to do with the information that I gave you if you know who my boyfriend is or what’s going on in my family behind closed doors? What, are you going to do anything to help me with my problem?

No. So just for it to float around in your brain. It’s a waste of space. You don’t need to know that just like I don’t need to know everything about them,” she ended.
