DAVID BECKHAM IN TACLOBAN FOR YOLANDA SURVIVORS F

ormer LA Galaxy player and football star David Beckham arrived in Tacloban today, Thursday to help Yolanda survivors with the United Nations International Emergency Children’s Fund (UNICEF) According to reports on ABS-CBNNews.com, David arrived in Manila at around 11AM. He arrived at the Tacloban Convention Center around 1:40 p.m.

The UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador appealed last November for people to donate to those who survived the biggest typhoon to hit land. He and wife, Victoria Beckham also held an auction of their famous outfits and donated the cash for the cause.

David last visited the Philippines in 2011 with the LA Galaxy for an exhibition game against the Philippine Askals.

KARYLLE ANNOUNCES WEDDING WITH YEAL YUZON ON ‘SHOWTIME’

K

arylle was emotional while she announced her forthcoming wedding with longtime boyfriend Sponge Cola vocalist and guitarist, Yael Yuzon today, February 8, on “It’s Showtime.”

Before Karylle gave her speech, her ‘Showtime’ co-hosts expressed their support to the singer by giving her a group hug. Then, with tears of joy in her eyes, Karylle started by recounting how she met Yael, “Not a lot of people know, some three and a half years ago, a new chapter in my life started. The happiest and most exciting one yet. I started as a hurado here in ‘Showtime’ and became part of the ‘Showtime’ family at kakambal po nito ay dumating si Yael sa buhay ko. It was a sunny afternoon.

Actually, guest pa ko dati sa ‘Pilipinas Win na Win’ and kumain kami sa Mr. Kebab kasi mahilig po ako sa kanin. And, after that we had coffee and yun, sinagot ko siya.

Little by little, my life started to change.”

Karylle also acknowledged how her cohosts, DJ M.O.D and “Showtime” director, Bobet Vidanes, changed her life, “Ryan, he taught me how to be a hurado para hindi ako mavote out ng madlang people. I started to dream bigger because of Anne. I learned how to share sawsawan because of Vhong.

And, I was pushed to give more and share

more of myself because of direk Bobet. I learned na si Billy lang ang pinakagame sa malabo kong trip na abangan ang sunrise ‘cause he’s ready to be a friend anytime and anywhere. Teddy showed me how fun it is to have a growing family.

Juggy showed me that he loves me even though he finds that I’m the weirdest in the ‘Showtime’ group. Jhong taught me to be more attentive and respectful. Colleen taught me that younger people have wisdom and Eric showed me that boys with muscles have big, big hearts. DJ M.O.D., my first ever music producer showed me that our dreams from more than ten years ago are finally coming true kahit medyo nadelay. And Vice, Vice helped me to learn how to laugh out loud, hindi yung parang dalagang Pilipina na mahinhin na tumatawa..”

Further, Karylle said that Kim Atienza’s advices helped her relationship with Yael, “Most importantly, Kuya Kim told me that I’m a good friend but a high maintenance girlfriend. So tuwing inaaway ko si Yael, parang kunsensya si Kuya Kim na naririnig ko and I just keep your words in mind and I try to be a better person.”

Karylle also said that she is a “work in progress” and that everything she had been through happened for a reason. She also expressed gratitude to the people or “angels” around her, “Thank you, Lord for all of them. You know who you are. Ang dami pong nagmamahal sa’kin and I don’t know why but I love them all too and I’m very, very grateful for each of you.”

Finally, Karylle revealed the big announcement.

“Thank you all for helping me reach the next level.

Next month, we wed and a new chapter begins.”

Co-host Billy Crawford expressed his excitement and support for Karylle that he even quipped, “Yael, humanda ka hah! Nandito kaming lahat.”

Then as a gift, the boys of the noontime show each performed songs for Karylle. Later, the hosts gave her gifts that included lingerie.

Karylle’s co-host Kim Atienza gave his views on why he thinks Yael and Karylle are well suited for each other. “‘Di nakikita ng ibang tao, pero yung mental level nilang dalawa.. They love to talk for hours, analyze nang analyze nang analyze. Bagay na bagay talaga silang dalawa. Pero Yael napakaswerte mo talaga, kung may mas maswerte doon sa dalawa, maswerte ka Yael.”

Also, Vice Ganda has only good things to say about Yael. “Mabait si Yael oo, at saka close siya sa lahat ng Showtime hosts para siyang family na rin namin. Kaya nga pinagbabantaan yan ni Billy. Naku wag mong lolokohin, humanda ka sa akin. Sana maging magkasama sila habang buhay at maging happy [sila] forever.”

The catholic wedding will reportedly be on March 21 at a private resort in Tagaytay.

Yael proposed to Karylle last year in time for their third year anniversary and his family is set to pay their respects to Karylle’s dad, Doctor Modesto Tatlonghari.

livia Lamasan have done another great job by putting together three of the most talented showbiz personal, Toni Gonzaga (My Amnesia Girl), Piolo Pacsual (Milan) and Iza Calzado (Biggest Loser Philippines) in her new movie “Starting Over Again”. Netizens are expecting that this film would be another “One More Chance” starring John Llyod Cruz & Bea Alonzo, Toni who plays Ginny left Piolo (Marco) for a great career. Not knowing what? actually did, Piolo playing marco felt his heart broken into pieces when Ginny had to let him go.

Toni Gonzaga’s (Ginny) character is an achiever architect, who graduated from UP. Coming back to the university to design a new building, she then gets to see Marco once more. Ginny a smart, accomplished woman who had to leave Marco years back in a tearjerker confrontation scene under the rain (Imperness! Piolo’s acting was really good!) then she realizes that she’s still inlove with him.

This film is deifinitely something anyone can relate about. It is funny for most parts of the film and was very carefully done with good taste. As Toni Gonzaga played a sassy, funny student girl (like always.hehehehe) who have been eyeing for his history professor. With her sweet demeanor, Marco had fallen for her as well. The Combination of the two would make you feel ecstatic. Toni Gonzaga and Piolo Pascual played their roles really good.

The Great thing about this movie is that it gave their audience the idea how to dealt deeper on realtionships and moving on. In a way, the nitizens understood what both of this characters went through - during their sweetest times and the times when they were seperated.

Toni Gonzaga never fails to amaze me with her comedic strings once more.

Piolo Pascual gave the much-needed balance of maturity in this Film. While Iza Calzado’s role as classy polished woman is definetly needed in this story, this gave a new dimension to the entire plot. Toni, Piolo, and Iza roles have been well-built and combined to come around together and make a solid reaction from the viewers.

Starting Over Again isn’t the typical romantic comedy movie, but this movie will tenderly embrace your brain and hearts out (at of course ang kilig scenes. hehehe) ‘cause you won’t forget about it.

You won’t regret watching this movie.

Star Cinema was right putting it as their Valentine’s special, “Starting Over Again” on it’s first three days earned 100million, another box office title for both Piolo and Toni in the year 2014.

Star Cinema’s Top 10 fli A list of heart-warming 1. Forevermore (2002) The onscreen tandem of Jericho Rosales and Kristine Hermosa had their own cult following all thanks to their highly-successful soap Pangako Sa‘Yo back in early 2000s.

Forevermore was one of the first two love team, rom-com movies of Jericho that follows the story childhood sweethearts who eventually had to part ways because one of them had to live abroad. Returning after several years, Anton (Jericho’s character) finds out that their family business—a mango orchard—is on the brink of closing down because it has failed to produce the best-selling sweet, ripe mangoes.

2. Bakit Hindi Ka Crush ng Crush Mo? (2013) Inspired by Internet star Ramon Bautista’s book of the same title, this Kim Chiu and Xian Lim-starrer made it to the list because a lot of people until this day are still baffled why their crushes don’t like them or worse, don’t even take notice of them.

So with a clear-cut set of “reasons” why your crush is not into you, the film tells the evolution of Sandy (Kim’s character) from ugly duckling to a beautiful swan after she makes a deal with new company owner Alex (Xian’s character) for a makeover in exchange of helping him turn around his failing company. In a way, this film reminds us about the typical adage of how we tend to forsake common sense once we fall in love.

3. A Very Special Love (2008) When Sarah Geronimo got John Lloyd Cruz to do the sun dance—a “traditional” dance move intended to ward off a bad weather, audiences were hooked, especially since the latter performed the dance in a adorable/dorky manner.

Laida (Sarah’s character) has long been obsessed with business magnate Migui (John Lloyd’s character) that she does everything to be able to get into his publishing company. But much to her dismay, he turns out to be the exact opposite of her ideal man with his coarse attitude towards virtually everyone he comes across with at work. Perky Laida, however, doesn’t give up and eventually softens up Migui’s heart. This movie paved the way for two sequels: You Changed My Life and It Takes a Man and a Woman.

4. Labs Kita, Okey Ka lang? (1998) “Yes kaibigan mo ko.. kaibigan mo LANG ako.. And that’s all I ever was to you, Ned. Your best friend.

Popoy (John Lloyd’s character) and Basha’s (Bea’s character) romance was off to a good start, but it eventually turned sour when the former’s controlling and nagging ways took a toll on the latter which eventually led to their breakup.

VEN though she is busy with her afternoon Kapamilya soap Galema: Anak ni Zuma, Andi Eigenmann admitted she is excited to bring to life the role of Betty in the upcoming fantaserye Dyesebel which also stars Anne Curtis, Gerald Anderson, and Sam Milby.

“Kaya ko siya tinanggap kasi alam ko naman na magiging masaya itong bagong journey na ito sa career ko. Mas challenging ito pero okay lang naman yun sa akin, yung focus ko hindi naman kailangan hatiin, puwede naman na ibigay ko yung full effort sa kung ano yung ginagawa ko like kung sa araw na ito Galema, naka-focus lang ako sa Galema tapos pag sa Dyesebel, sa Dyesebel naman. Hindi naman magiging mahirap yun para sa akin kasi pagka-gusto mo naman yung isang bagay wala namang mahirap. Naayos naman yun ng management na kahit na hindi

magiging mahirap para sa akin na ipagsabay ang dalawang proyekto,” she said.

Although she won’t be playing a mermaid in Dyesebel, Andi said she believes that the water element seems to be good luck for her career. She said she considers Agua Bendita in 2010 as her breakout role. “Parang yung suwerte ko talaga nakadikit siya sa tubig (laughs). Simula sa Agua Bendita hindi na ako nalayo sa tubig and masaya ako na babalik na naman ako. My daughter is also a little mermaid like me so alam ko na magiging masaya din siya na I’m a part of this project. I’m also a swimmer in real life so hindi ko kailangan mag-swimming lessons kasi hindi ako sirena dito, ako ay may paa. Although my character is also a swimmer just like I am in real life,” she shared.

she did not deliberately try to lose weight. “Hindi ko alam kung bakit ako mapayat. Earlier during the show, Kris said she was able to talk to Luis Mazano who addressed her as “ninang.” Kris even told him, “Very happy si Ninang” while the “Minute to Win It” game show host replied, “Mas happy si Inaanak.” Thus, Kris looked for her other “inaanak,” actress Angel Locsin to confirm the status of her relationship with Luis.

According to Angel, they are still fixing things but they are “getting there.” She also confirmed that Luis visited her father, who is also happy for them. Kris asked Angel, “Kailan? Mag-iipon na ko,” pertaining to her being a godmother at their wedding. A laughing Angel then replied, “Gusto ko yan!

Soon na yan, malapit na.” Kris even said, “You’re turning 29? So mga 31. Nangialam si Ninang? 31 na lang, mag-iipon muna ako.”

“The Legal Wife” actress shared that she recently took her father to a trip abroad and revealed that she is very happy right now.

few weeks since they both confessed to still having feelings for one another, host-actor Luis Manzano finally confirmed that he and Angel Locsin are officially back in each other’s arms.

On his Sunday appearance on Buzz ng Bayan, the Minute to Win it host blurted “I am proudly her boyfriend” when asked what’s

the status of his relationship with Angel.

Despite being open about their wanting to be with each other anew, both Angel and Luis in recent interviews have been consistent in saying that they have to resolve past issues which went unresolved when they parted ways back in 2009 before they can officially become boyfriend-girlfriend again.

mid the unfolding of more intrigues and questions as well as the surfacing of more personalities, Buzz ng Bayan host Boy Abunda on their show’s Sunday episode underlined that their show, despite being under the Kapamilya network where Vhong Navarro was also a contract star, is hell bent in providing unbiased reportage about his ongoing legal case.

“We don’t have illusions of lawyering for Vhong Navarro. Hindi po kami mga abogado. All these people who are involved in this case are brilliant lawyers, Alma Mallonga, you have the brilliant Howard Calleja, you have other brilliant lawyers,” said the veteran host.

While speculations continue to arise that the network is siding with the It’s Showtime host, he revealed that

To bolster his earlier claim about impartial reporting, he cited the most recent investigative report that the show made which had a psychologist interpret the gestures and speech of the concerned parties after the CCTV footages from the condominium in Taguig where Vhong was mauled by Cedric and other men were released by the National Bureau of Investigation.

“Nais ko pong sabihin na kung ano man ang naging resulta ng interview naming with the doctor-psychologist, panig man ‘yun kanino man ay aming ilalabas po ‘yun,” he said.

In parting he invited the lawyer of the second rape complainant against Vhong Roxanna Acosta Cabañero as well as her lawyer Atty. Virgilio Batalla that like Deniece and Cedric’s camp, they are also welcome to air their side on the show.

VICE GANDA CONFIRMS VHONG NAVARRO’S PRESENCE IN 2010 CONCERT

ontradicting the accusation of model Roxanne Acosta Cabañero that she was with Vhong Navarro somewhere in Pasig on the evening of April 24, 2010, comedian Vice Ganda confirmed that he was with his It’s Showtime co-host in Cavite on that same night for a concert.

In an interview with Buzz ng Bayan on Sunday, Vice shared that he had Vhong and Callalily lead vocalist Kean Cipriano as his guests for his concert titled “May Nag Text ;)) May Show Ako” at the Island Cove Resort Park in Cavite.

BIANCA LAPUS POSTS ‘PROOF’ TO COUNTER ALLEGATIONS IN VHONG NAVARRO’S SECOND RAPE CASE

ianca Lapus posted a photo on her Instagram account to note the inconsistency in the affidavit of Roxanne Acosta Cabanero, the woman who claims to have been raped by Vhong Navarro back in April 24, 2010.

The photo posted by the former actress was a collage of two images: one of a Vice

Ganda concert poster (where Vhong’s name was listed as a guest performer) and the other a screen grab of singer Kean Cipriano’s tweet (which thanked Vice and Vhong for the concert) both dated 2010. The caption read: “Need I say more? April 24, 2010 8pm onwards Island Cove Cavite.”

In an abs-cbnnews.com report on February 21, Island Cove Hotel and Leisure Park, where the concert was held, confirmed via a photo that the concert was indeed held at the venue on April 24, 2010, coincidentally the same night that Roxanne claims that she was raped by Vhong in Pasig City around 12 midnight.

Bianca’s post which now has 515 “likes” and 82 comments as of this writing elicited a lot of comments from her followers. Most were filled with doubt about Roxanne’s integrity while some enraged followers assumed that the new complainant supposedly “allowed herself to be used by

Deniece Cornejo and Cedric Lee’s camp.”

In an interview with TV Patrol, also on Friday, Roxanne denied claims that she knows Deniece and Cedric and that she was been paid by the two to accuse Vhong of rape. She added that her case is separate from Deniece’s, but she admitted that she was “inspired” by the latter’s courage to go against the Kapamilya actor.

Saying that she cannot “keep it forever” for she has “lived in fear for four years” after being “violated” and “threatened” by Vhong, Roxanne claimed that she’s willing to go through the entire battle against him.

“This is not about being famous, I’m seeking for justice,” she said and added, “I want to see him in court. I want him to explain why he did that and I want him to apologize.”

They have one son Yce who is now 18 years old. Bianca has since retired from showbiz and is happily in a relationship with a non-showbiz guy.

One year after the annulment of his marriage, Vhong started dating Desiree Del Valle which resulted in a three-year relationship. The two announced their decision to split in 2009 citing their increasingly busy work schedules and different priorities. In 2003 Vhong Navarro made his first solo blockbuster movie Mr. Suave.

Vhong’s iconic chickmagnet image stuck to the masses’ because of his role as rico suave in the movie. The movie’s themesong “Ako si Mr. Suave was made by the rock band group Parokya ni Edgar.

Vhong’s career continue to grew, he was given a big movie projects like Gagamboy, AgentX44, D’Another’s, Bulong, Suphapapalicious and so on.

Actor Vhong Navarro granted Korina Sanchez his first one-on-one interview after being discharged from the hospital this afternoon. The actor described his experience as harrowing as he still can’t sleep well, nor does he feel comfortable being left alone in a room. “’Yung mga una, pangalawa, pangatlong gabi kelangan ko pong humingi ng pampatulog kasi kahit sobrang pagod o puyat ‘di po ako makatulog. Tapos after po the operation, ito po yung unang mulat ko, tinatawag ko po yung doctor ko kasi po feeling ko mag-isa ako doon sa operating room tapos po baka lumitaw sila.

‘Yun po yung trauma ko,” Vhong related to Korina.

He said that his spirit has been uplifted by the support of the people who were outside St. Luke’s Hospital.

“Paglabas ko pa lang po ng St. Luke’s nakikita ko na yung mga tao na naggu-good luck, sinasabi nila na kasama mo kami sa laban.

Hindi po ako makapaniwala na may ganun pala, sa ospital pa lang nararamdaman mo na yung pagmamahal nila at paniniwala nila, naniniwala po sila sa akin. Para pong isang panaginip, isang pelikula ‘tong nangyari sa ‘kin, na magkakatotoo. Sa sobrang takot po, yung mga nangyayari ngayon sa kin, kelangan ko po harapin yung takot, para may justice na mangyari po. Dahil alam ko kung di ko gagawin ‘to, kung hindi po ako magsasalita, pwede pong maulit, pwede nila ulitin,” he admitted.

Vhong added that he felt like he was going to die that night. “Kala ko po katapusan ko na.

Kala ko po mawawala na ako.”

He told Korina that he had no time to pray as he felt his first instinct was to survive what was happening to him that very moment. “Mas gusto ko po na maging klaro yung utak ko sa lahat.

Honestly di ko po nakuhang makapagdasal that time, kasi parang pinapalakas pa ni Lord yung damdamin ko. Magfocus ka, magfocus ka, kelangan may makwento ako. Kasi sabi po sa kin ng mga doctor, sa mga tama ko po pwede ako himatayin, sa mga tama ko pwede akong mabulag. So sa akin kelangan magfocus ako.

Vhong also related to the TV Patrol anchor, how he was paralyzed by fear at first and had even no intention to seek medical help. It was his manager, director Chito Rono and his friends who gave him the strength to go to the media and police to divulge what really happened to him on the night of January 22.

During his first ever interview after his attack two weeks ago, Vhong immediately claims that his sole mistake in the entire incident was that he became unfaithful to his girlfriend of six years. Despite this, reports have noted that Tanya has chosen to stay by his side and even take good care of him as he heals from what he’s gone through.

“Sabi ko nga ito pinaka-down ng buhay ko na. Pinagdaanan pero until now nandiyan parin siya. Talagang dapat siguro hindi na maulit. At hinding hindi na mauulit na may gawin pa akong ganon uli. Kaya dapat maging faithful talaga,” he said during his interview with Buzz ng Bayan on Sunday.

Vhong lauded how Tanya has opted to set aside her own feelings just to support him in his current ordeal.

“Sabi ko ‘wag na muna niya akong iwan sa mga panahon na ito dahil alam ko na masakit para sa kanya.

Ang sinasabi niya kasi, ‘Sa ngayon ang iintindihin ko muna ay ikaw, ‘wag muna ako,’” he quoted her as saying.

According to him that very selflessness shown by Tanya is what inspired him to admit his fault because “totoo naman eh na nagkasala ako sakanya.”

But what if Tanya has decided otherwise and left him after learning of his infidelity, would he have understood her?

Ironically he shared that his current controversy actually strengthened his relationship with her girlfriend, whom he met on the set of his 2008 film My Only U opposite Toni Gonzaga.

As for returning to “Showtime,” the comedian said he is unsure of when he’ll be back on the noontime show. “Hindi ko pa po masabi Sir Ted. Kahit sobrang miss na miss ko na magsayaw ulit, magpatawa ulit, namimiss ko yung mga katrabaho ko, hindi ko pa po talaga alam. Depende po sa sitwasyon at panahon.”

In the second part of his interview on “TV Patrol” with Korina Sanchez, Vhong was able to joke with the broadcast journalist about the operation done on his nose after the mauling incident. He admitted though that he still has bumps on his face and that his jaw still has to heal completely.

As there are two sides of the story, Vhong said he can’t do anything with Deniece Cornejo and Cedric Lee’s version, but he can only say what he knows, which is the truth, backed by evidence from the

CCTV cameras of the condominium where the incident occurred.

“Hindi po ako nagsisinungaling,” he firmly told Korina.

“Kasi kita naman po sa CCTV, wala po akong pwedeng reypin doon.

Dahil ang kasama ko po ay yung dalawang lalaking armado. Kitang-kita po sa CCTV na bumaba po siya.

Vhong denied being friends with Cedric and said he has only met him once at a party. As for knowing Deniece, Vhong insisted that they met two years ago at a store, where he got her number.

The actor-host told Korina that he is not guity of any sin against Deniece and that his biggest wrongdoing is towards his girlfriend.

“Kasalanan ko po na pumunta ako sa condo, kahit na may girlfriend ako,” he honestly admitted.

Vhong also related how his reunion with his sons went last Sunday. “Gusto ko maiyak dahil sobrang miss ko sila. Pero kailangan kong pigilan po eh, kasi pagnakita nila na umiyak ako ibig sabihin parang ang weak ko. Kasi gusto kong pakita sa kanila na pagsuboklang to. Pagdadaanan lang natin to. His sons, Isaiah and Fredrick were both very supportive of their father and assured him that they will be behind him all the way.

As for the important lessons he has learned from his ordeal, Vhong has two things he shared with the viewers. “’Wag po tayong magtitiwala kahit kanino dahil di po natin alam kung sino ang kaibigan at hindi.

At bago ko po ito sasabihin eh, kasi nung bata po ako sobrang hilig ko po sa labas, sa mga girls. Dapat po maging faithful tayo.

Kaya sobrang humihingi ako ng tawad sa girlfriend ko. Sobra-sobra.”

Vhong thanked the people who continue to support him and even though he is still afraid of what could happen to him and his family, he assured everyone that he will push through with his case. “Kahit po natatakot ako, kailangan ko pong ituloy ‘to.”

ccording to an update on “ Bandila, ” casualties of the accident involving the Florida Bus that fell off a ravine in the Mountain Province on the morning of Febuary 7, are at the Bontoc General Hospital.

The Information Officer of the Cordillera Police Regional Office confirmed that among the 14 who died, is comedian-host Arvin Jimenez, popularly known as Tado. Also included among those who died are two tourists from Canada and the Netherlands.

Investigation says that the bus hit the mountain before it fell into a 120-meter deep ravine. The bus apparently lost its brakes but the conductor was able to jump off the bus before it fell.

rom playing volleyball to reporting about sports, Gretchen Ho admitted her life has been turned upside down by an unexpected career path. “Nung una talaga na-culture shock ako (laughs). Kasi hindi nga ako marunong magmakeup dati. Hindi ako nag-aayos.

I never watched TV also before kasi I was trained not to watch TV during weekdays, pag weekends lang. So hindi nainstill sa akin yung habit na manuod ng TV so wala akong alam sa pop culture, wala akong masyadong alam talaga. Now na binigay

sa akin yung opportunity to do a sports show by Gameday TV and Balls Channel, unti-unti na-e-expose ako sa mga ganung bagay and I can say na I’ve been learning a lot, as in sobrang laki ng pinagbago ng perspective ko sa buhay, parang lumawak yung pag-iisip ko. Dati yung mundo ko lang volleyball, aral, simbahan (laughs) yun lang, dun lang ako umiikot. Tapos ngayon parang wow ang ganda pala ng buhay. Lumawak talaga,” she admitted.

Currently a sports analyst for the UAAP, Gretchen said she has a lot to be thankful for in sports. “As in lahat ng ginagawa ko ngayon siguro ma-a-attribute ko yun sa volleyball. Lahat ng opportunities na dumadating sa akin, this sports show was offered to me because of my background in volleyball. Sports reporting, I’m also doing analyzing in UAAP volleyball so that’s also because of that. And I’m still playing now.

Siguro I’m in this different world compared to before so a lot has changed talaga,” she said.

Gretchen was further cast in the limelight when she started dating Biggest Loser Doubles game master Robi Domingo who eventually became her boyfriend. “Parang sabi ko, first time ako magkaron ng love life tapos bigla high profile kagad. I wasn’t ready for it. And when that happened I was still in school, I was still playing volleyball and our coach was very strict. He didn’t

like us appearing on TV that much or doing sideline outside of volleyball. He wanted us to focus on playing. That’s why I told Robi don’t mention me anymore on TV. But it can’t be helped because people are talking about it. I had to adjust to it na not to be affected by it, by what people were saying.

Kaya it definitely added to my culture shock but I think knowing our priorities as a student and a volleyball player and him knowing his intentions for me weren’t in that line, na we didn’t get together naman because of some popularity game or hype or whatever. He was very sincere so knowing each other, knowing our priorities and knowing our intentions, that really helped,” she recalled.

The athlete-turned-host also admitted she was looking forward to a low-key Valentine’s Day celebration with Robi.

“Last year, first year first Valentines ko na may kasama ako. So that was very memorable for me. He cooked kaldereta for me, sa bahay lang kami tapos candlelight dinner. Nandun pa yung parents ko sa loob (laughs). Sumayaw pa kami sa garden, ganun. So this year we’re going to make it na ako magluluto ng isang dish tapos siya magluluto rin ng isang dish so almost the same. We want to keep it very simple and intimate. We do enjoy spending time at home so sa bahay na lang. Tipid pa (laughs),” she shared.

Ruffa and John Lloyd’s almost one-year relationship started in March 2009. Their split back in February 2010, according to Ruffa’s previous tell-all interview, were precipitated by certain incompatibilities and the actor’s alleged excessive fondness for alcohol and for women.

s part of her tenth year celebration in showbiz, Rachelle Ann Go will be performing in a send-off concert on February 22 which she is also producing. The 27-year-old singer is scheduled to leave for London at the end of the month to start rehearsals for her role as Gigi in West End’s revival of Miss Saigon in May. “Actually gusto ko mag-concert talaga. The last one I produced was two years ago and ang sarap ng feeling na magproduce ulit. I decided since malapit naman ako umalis, to produce ulit. Ito yung tenth anniversary concert plus send-off concert na rin and gusto kong sa sampung taon ko dito sa industriya ang dami kong dinaanang music eh. Nanggaling na ako sa pop, sa rock, iba ibang genre. I want to share that with those who supported me for the past ten years. Ngayon na papunta ako sa mga musicals, gusto ko i-share sa mga tao yung mga dream roles ko, siyempre yung mga awitin sa Miss Saigon so halo-halo yung sa concert and yung mga guest ko yung mga taong malalapit sa puso ko din,” she said.

The concert will feature guests who are also Rachelle’s close friends in showbiz like Regine Velasquez, Erik Santos, Christian Bautista, and Mark Bautista.

“Kung ano yung nararamdaman ko, yun yung gusto kong maramdaman ng tao and kung saan ako papunta gusto ko i-share sa kanila yun. Kumbaga storya ng buhay

Before I leave gusto ko rin mag-attend ng mga dance classes para may baon naman ako pagdating ko dun. Dapat first week of March ako aalis to start rehearsing but I got an email from Miss Saigon asking if I can leave earlier kasi on March 2 may benefit show gusto nila i-introduce ako at si Kim, si Eva Noblezada sa Filipino community,” she added.

After signing a one-year contract to do eight shows a week, Rachelle admitted joining Miss Saigon is worth the sacrifice of leaving Philippine showbiz for the rest of 2013. “My contract is for one year plus two months rehearsals so I’ll be staying there for 14 months. Dito ako ni-li-lead, I just need to obey. Right now I’m very thankful tapos I have a concert and an album. Pero higit pa po dun yung natanggap kong blessings eh. Ngayon sa sampung taon, nagawa ko na lahat ng gusto ko and now doing a big musical abroad, hindi ko talaga pinangarap ito. Kumbaga wala sa panaiginip ko, na-surprise na lang

ako dito. Isang malaking regalo din para sa akin ito. Right now I just want explore new things. I want to grow as an artist and as a person bilang first time kong mag-isa sa ibang bansa, kumbaga hindi ako marunong magluto, alam mo yung mga ganung klaseng bagay (laughs). Mga bagay na I’m sure matututunan ko doon. I think ang daming purpose ng paglipad ko papuntang London,” she said.

Apart from being a successful singer and embarking on a new career in theater, Rachelle said she already has plans for the future. “Gusto ko nga magtayo ng music school one day. Siguro yung basic lang, not necessarily yung type ng music, proper breathing, yung ganun. Kasi magtayo ng school na para lang sa theater so gusto ko yung kabuuhan na lang,” she said.

Rachelle said she could not ask for anything more when it comes to her career at the moment.

“Madami akong prayers pero sa buhay, sa pamilya ko, when it comes to my career ang prayer na masasabi ko na God dalhin niyo ako kung saan niyo ako gusto mapunta, kung anong will niyo sa akin, sana yun din ang maging desire ng puro ko. Kasi minsan pag mag-isa na lang ako nalilito ako, san ba ako papunta? So yung prayer ko ngayon maging yung laman ng puso ko yung gusto ni God sa akin, yun lang talaga. But right now I’m very happy and very contented sa lahat ng blessings ko,” she said.

Rak of Aegis revolves around the story of Aileen, a promo girl who dreams of becoming a YouTube sensation in order to become popular enough to be invited on the Ellen DeGeneres show in order to become rich. Aicelle Santos plays the lead role and shows off her vocal prowess in a two-hour performance that does not disappoint.

International theater talents and real-life couple Rober t Sena and Isay Alvarez play former sweethear ts (Isay as the barangay captain and Rober t as Aileen’s father) who have different views when it comes to suppor ting Aileen’s dream of becoming a popular singer while comedienne Cacai Bautista proves she is good for more than just laughs with songs that showcase her vocal range as Aileen’s mother.
