VICTORIA’S GUIDE TO FESTIVALS AND OUTDOOR EVENTS IN 2014

CITYVibe is an annual publication that showcases the many

spectacular City-sponsored and community-based arts and cultural outdoor events and summer festivals that are taking place in the Capital City. Whether you’re discovering a new culture, relaxing or dancing to a range of music genres, or enjoying the many festivities offered downtown, there is something for everyone! The festivals and celebrations showcased in the first section of this guide are recipients of the City of Victoria’s 2014 Festival Investment Grant. Over the past 15 years, the City has awarded $1.66 million to local non-profit arts and cultural organizations. The program is designed to nurture outdoor festivals and celebrations held within the Capital City, facilitate their growth and ensure their continued success. Victoria’s public markets, festival and events at Royal Athletic Park, and Citysponsored summer concerts and events presented at the Cameron Bandshell in Beacon Hill Park and at Centennial Square are also listed. All of the event listings are available in the free CITYVibe iTunes app. Go to iTunes.com to download.

This year, many favourite sights, sounds and flavours will return during our popular annual events and a number of unique new events are waiting to be discovered. CITYVibe is your guide to an action-packed season of arts, culture and entertainment. This summer, enjoy music in the park. Discover local farmers and artisans at a public market. Cheer with your friends at a sport game or bring your family to a parade. From Centennial Square to the Inner Harbour, from Beacon Hill Park to Government Street – just about anywhere you go in Victoria this summer, there will be music in the air and people in the streets.
